25 years ago, thousands of trees were about to be blown over by the

great storm. Nothing so extreme a farce in the next few days, but

lively nonetheless. Some spells a wet weather, but in between, some

sunshine. The band of cloud is thickening, turning white, pushing

it into Northern Ireland, this wet and windy weather will sweep its

way northwards through the rest of England and Wales. The northern

half of Scotland, frosty. Further south, the rain will clear through

by the morning. It will be breezy if not windy. Just the odd rogue

shower is possible to watch the West Coast, but otherwise fine and

sunny. A windy start in Wales, some of the strong winds will push

eastwards later in the day. A wet start for much of northern England

and Northern Ireland. Some of that range heading into the central belt,

but the northern half of Scotland, after that frosty start, some

sunshine. A grim prospect for the morning into parts of north-east

England, slow improvement, the wind will pick up come rattling across

the Midlands. We could see gusts of up to 50 mph through a Lincolnshire.

Could cause some problems. The west of the wind and rain in some places

around the borders, it will be a chilly day. The best of the

temperatures further south. But the next area of low pressure is

sending some are wet-weather across England and Wales on Wednesday.

That will reach Scotland after the frosty start. Once the rain has

cleared, the sun comes out and temperatures rise across the south.

But some blustery showers. A complicated picture on Thursday.
