Good evening. We have seen the number of flood warnings come down

in Scotland after an afternoon and are slightly drier weather. These

are the problems caused by the rainfall last night, particularly

heavy across Northern Ireland and Scotland before easing a way

through the morning. It left behind 55 mm of rain in the Glasgow area,

just over a couple of inches on already saturated ground with

higher river levels. No wonder we saw scenes of flooding across

Scotland. Tonight there is more rain in a forecast, heavy at first

across south-west England and Wales, before eventually moving into

Northern Ireland. Those strong winds will stay with us through the

day tomorrow, but at least they're coming in from the south, so it

will continue to be mild. Very mild tomorrow morning, temperatures in

Manchester already at 12 degrees, but the cloud and outbreaks of rain.

A rather dull start to the day for East Anglia and the south-east,

rain along the south coast, with some strong southerly winds. South-

west England will be cloudy, wet and windy first thing. This is 8

o'clock in the morning, rush-hour, quite tricky across parts of Wales

with the heavy rain, and a similar story into Northern Ireland. For

south-west Scotland, the rain will be turning heavy through the

morning, pushing northeastwards across Scotland, but thankfully

moving through quicker compared to today. Although we are expecting

more rain, there is a yellow warning in force, so be aware of

the risk of further flooding. Hopefully not quite such high

totals as today. As that rain slowly clears northwards, Scotland

and Northern Ireland should be drier and brighter by the afternoon,

but we will keep the strong winds. Windy for England and Wales, more

Clarke and outbreaks of rain. 13-14 degrees, about average for the time

of year. Tuesday, the potential for gale-force winds in the north-west,

all tied in with his low-pressure area, pushing northwards, leaving

behind this trialling weather front, so more rain to contend with
