Good evening. Some thick fog patches outside tonight and also a

touch of ice. The main emphasis for the forecast by morning, and for

the next 48-hours, is rain. We are concerned, the Met Office issued an

Amber warning for Devon and Cornwall. There is a real risk of

flooding particularly tomorrow night. Tonight, rain to the South

West, huge head of cloud towards the UK. It has been a dry day ahead

of that and a clear evening has led to thick fog patches. They will

lift. The increasing breeze will stop the temperatures falling too

far. It is getting cold outside at the moment. By dawn most towns and

cities will be above freezing. We have to concentrate on the rain.

Getting into the South West and south waste over night and becoming

widespread duringlet course of Wednesday, spreading across Wales,

Midlands, north-west England and Scotland. England and good parts of

Scotland won't see the rain until after dusk. It will be cold as the

rin rain arrives in the Glasgow area. Miserable day in Northern

Ireland. Many of these eastern counties won't see the rain until

late in the day. Not into the London area until dusk. Wet and

windy day for Wales and South West England. Temperatures may reach

double figures. The ground is already saturated across the South

West. Another pulse of heavy rain. We are concerned about the South

West tomorrow night. Other parts of England and Wales getting a real

soaking on Thursday. The rain will linger in eastern parts of Scotland

where there will be snow falling over the hills. Brighter spells to

the west on Thursday. More showers will pile in. Temperatures five to

Friday offers something of a window before another area of low pressure.
