Good evening. Mother nature has summer stamped on the calendar for

many of you this weekend and next week. But to get that in place we

need to shift the high pressure away from the Azores. That should happen,

but there are two areas of low pressure to contend with. This one

brought the rain today. The cold front is starting to reactivate a

bit. There will be heavier bursts around. Maybe even the odd crack of

thunder from the Midlands southwards, but even here across

southern areas, there will be the odd garden left without a welcome

drink come morning. Most of the rain easing off by dawn on Wednesday.

Light and patchy rain and drizzle around. A mild start, but a grey one

in most parts of the country. Eastern parts of Northern Ireland

drying. And Wednesday will be a day of losing that light rain and

drizzle and the skies brightening. It won't be a blue sky day, but with

more sunshine around in Scotland and Northern Ireland, lighter winds, it

will feel warmer at 15 to 18 Celsius. It could get up to 20

Celsius in parts of north-east England. There will be cloudy

moments through the day particularly around lunch time before the

sunshine develops later on in the afternoon. It could take until the

end of the afternoon before some parts of the East Midlands and East

Anglia and the South East see the sunshine win out. A better day at

Wimbledon. Now, the next area of low pressure pushes through on Thursday.

It will bring rain and misty and murky around some of the coasts. A

fresher night will follow to take us through Thursday and into Friday. By

this stage the high pressure starts to set its stall up. One or two

showers possible in north-west Scotland, but most will be dry and

sunshine and well broken cloud and pleasant.

Into the weekend, as the high pressure continues to build, more

and more sunshine around and temperatures continue to rise. So by

Sunday, OK still only around the mid to high teens with cloud and one or

two showers, but the rest of the country into the 20s. It could get
