This morning's intense storm across southern Britain was very

fast-moving. By lunchtime, already sitting out in the North Sea. It was

causing problems across Denmark and northern Germany. It is weakening

but there are still problems through Scandinavia will stop we were left

behind with some breezy conditions, heavy showers, but just typical

weather for autumn. Through the rest of the week we have blustery winds

around, it will feel cooler with more wet weather, but nothing out of

the ordinary. Tonight, a couple of heavy showers mainly across

north-western areas. Clear spells further east. As a result, chillier

than has been. Probably our lowest temperatures through the Glens of

Scotland. Tomorrow morning's commute, no problems for many

through southern counties of England. It should be dry with some

sunshine. A little bit more cloud for the Midlands, parts of

north-west England. Already some showers here. A few showers around

the Irish Sea coasts and maybe one or two for Northern Ireland. Eastern

Scotland, a chilly start but it s going to be a bright one. The main

focus of the showers will be in the later part of the day where there

might be a couple of heavy ones. Come the afternoon, many places will

miss the showers, stay dry, keeping some sunshine. Although with

temperatures at ten to 13 degrees and that cool north-westerly breeze,

you will notice it stepping up through the afternoon. A ridge of

high pressure crosses the country on Tuesday, so for many it will be dry.

The winds falling a touch lighter and it's probably our coldest night

for some time. In the West, about three or four degrees, but for many

central and eastern areas, temperatures getting pretty close to

freezing. As we start Wednesday morning, there might be some mist

and fog but certainly chilly with some early brightness. Many

southeastern area staying dry, but it's in the north-west where things

are going downhill with a band of cloud and rain. That clears the

south-east corner on Thursday and we are left behind with some bright

spells but some fairly frequent, blustery showers, especially across

north-western areas. The temperature is not too far off average.
