Good evening. Windy weekend seemed to be very fashionable at the

:00:08.:00:13.

moment. This one will be bang on trend. The wind is only part of a

:00:14.:00:19.

very active weather story. These stories usually involve low-pressure

:00:20.:00:23.

systems. There is one to the south of the UK, and another one brewing

:00:24.:00:28.

in the mid Atlantic. The satellite picture shows the cloud

:00:29.:00:32.

approaching. Ahead of it, we have clearer skies across northern

:00:33.:00:36.

Britain. One or two fog patches forming here, particularly over the

:00:37.:00:42.

of York. Further south, that system is throwing cloud and outbreaks of

:00:43.:00:47.

rain, a misty and murky night here. It will turn quite cold.

:00:48.:00:52.

Temperatures in towns and cities hovering around freezing.

:00:53.:00:56.

Temperatures later in the night starting to pick up in Northern

:00:57.:00:59.

Ireland as that area of cloud arrives, ringing rain through the

:01:00.:01:05.

morning. That band of rain spirals across northern England and Scotland

:01:06.:01:08.

through the day. Further south, showers chased through that -- with

:01:09.:01:13.

that ever-increasing winds. There will be some sunshine between the

:01:14.:01:17.

showers. Northern Scotland will not get the rain until late on, but as

:01:18.:01:23.

it arrives, we will see snow over the Grampians. With those strong

:01:24.:01:28.

winds, it is not the data head to the mountains. Heavy showers for

:01:29.:01:32.

Northern Ireland north-west England. By the afternoon, something a little

:01:33.:01:37.

bit brighter and across northern England and the Midlands. A few

:01:38.:01:40.

showers getting chased through by those winds. The winds will

:01:41.:01:45.

strengthen, particularly here, South Wales and south-west England getting

:01:46.:01:49.

very blustery through the afternoon and evening. Gusts of up to 50 miles

:01:50.:01:57.

an hour or 60. Strong winds and bonfires do not mix. They're that

:01:58.:02:01.

mind if you are heading out on Saturday night. Very strong gusts of

:02:02.:02:06.

wind and showers pretty much wherever you are across the UK. It

:02:07.:02:10.

will stay quite wet across north-eastern areas on Saturday

:02:11.:02:14.

night as that low pulls away. More rain late in the day on Sunday, but

:02:15.:02:20.

for most of us on Sunday, we are between weather systems. It will be

:02:21.:02:24.

blustery with showers, but many of us will see some sunshine before

:02:25.:02:29.

that next area of cloud arrives. That rain could

:02:30.:02:30.
