As expected we have seen some atrocious weather this evening and

it is not finished just yet. Earlier we had the strongest gusts in the

South West and Wales. This has dropped to a certain extent. Now the

wind is strengthening in Scotland and northern Ireland. We have had

squally wind and torrential downpours. It is a fast-moving

situation. Showers are packing in behind that front. And we still have

a warning in place for Scotland and Northern Ireland for that severe

wind. Tomorrow things will be a little quieter. Some wintry showers

coming in. They are still around early in the morning. By this stage

many eastern parts should be dry and bright with some early sunshine.

More cloud and showers further north. Frequent showers for Northern

Ireland and Scotland. Then the wind does drop. Few showers in the East.

And a lot of snow to come in the hills of Scotland. Temperatures will

be lowered tomorrow and it will feel colder even in the sunshine. We have

a band developing in the West containing some snow. That pushes

away. The could be some icy patches around. And temperatures close to

freezing even in towns and cities. Many parts of England and Wales

starting dry and bright. Scotland and Northern Ireland turning wet and

windy. This peak area of low pressure is bringing that wet and

windy weather across
