Good evening. Yet again, I am standing here and telling you about

rain and plenty of it in the forecast. Let's look at what

happened today. A narrow band of intense wet weather moved East and

then sunny spells and scattered showers, some of them with hail and

snow, before the next batch of rain pushed into the South West. That

will gradually move across the country tomorrow. Turning wet but

for the eastern part of the UK quite a chilly day. We can see signs of

that with clear skies and frost forming. Icy stretches where we have

seen showers. At the same time, out to the West, the cloud, wind and

rain gathers. Temperatures around seven degrees with temperatures

below freezing to the East. The wind and rain will gather in strength. An

amber alert in Somerset. Be prepared for disruption with river levels

extremely high here. Generally in the South West we could see another

couple of inches of rainfall, especially in the morning. In East

Anglia, dense patches of fog will be likely. To the East of the Pennines,

it is a cold start to the West. Slightly milder. Rain in Northern

Ireland. Bumping into the colder air, we could see some snow over

higher ground in Scotland as well. The wind is very much a feature,

particularly through the North Channel. As the rain steadily tracks

its way East, it will be weaker as it moves through central and

southern areas, perhaps not arriving in Kent until later on. But's and

dismal in the East. Poor visibility but is likely milder to the South.

is wet and windy. That weather front will take its time to clear up from

Essex and Kent, and so on Saturday morning, low cloud and poor

visibility. Clear for time and then more showers put in. A wintry

mixture in Scotland. Snow over higher ground. Rain gradually push

to the South East but perhaps not arriving until after dark. On
