Tonight - an NHS decision to deny some couples IVF treatment comes

Matthew is an IVF baby and under the murals his mum would have been too

old for treatment. I was 41 when I had Mattie and 40 when I went

through the cycle. It would have deprived me of the chance and will

deprive other woman my age. Also tonight, a man is killed for life

for the brutal and motiveless murder of this much loved grandfather. He

had no enemies and I don't understand why he was killed. Plus,

the intensifying search for a diagnosis for IDL's baffling and

distressing illness. In sport, we are with the best in the world.

Behind the scenes at the National swimming Centre in Loughborough,

with the new national coach. Welcome to Friday's

programme with Anne Davies First tonight - fertility

clinics have criticised a decision by the NHS in parts

of the East Midlands to place We revealed on last night's

programme how bosses in Newark, Sherwood, Mansfield and Ashfield had

reluctantly decided Fertility experts fear other parts

of the region may follow suit. They predict that more couples

who can't afford private treatment Our health correspondent

Rob Sissons has the details. His mum, Railene, says the latest

decision is ridiculous. She got pregnant through IVF

first time aged 40. I think it's a very

disappointing decision. Ultimately, I wouldn't have been

able to have that treatment. 40 when I was going

through the cycle. Obviously it would have deprived me

of the chance and will deprive other women my age of the chance

to have a lovely baby, Railene met the NHS criteria

in place everywhere across the East Midlands that woman

needs to be 18 to 42 years old, not obese, not smoke and have

no previous children. She's dismayed Newark, Sherwood,

Mansfield and Ashfield NHS bosses have broken ranks and are changing

the age for women to 25-34 and putting in an age limit for men,

a maximum of 40 years old. created here in Nottingham. The

experts fear that the NHS funding might be scrapped altogether. They

say that now we need more consistency. We would like to be

able to offer some sort of equity and friendly country. A national

strategy would be far better and if everybody received this same

funding. Here they have also criticised the latest ruling. IVF is

very successful as a treatment. It comes back to the family of a child.

People have different views that depend on the circumstances. For

years, there were the same goes for IVF funding across the East

Midlands. This decision means that parts of Nottinghamshire are broken

away from the rest. There will be the same regulations here as other

countries but within Nottinghamshire there will be a postcode lottery.

The NHS faces some tough choices. Fertility experts wonder where the

rationing will end. Rob - an emotive subject do we know

when the controversial change You're right, it is very emotive. A

decision will be made next week. I reckon that it will be the beginning

of the next financial year. So something like April, wanted? Some

people would say that the NHS should not pay for IVF. It is not go into

slaves that much money in the overall scheme of NHS funding. -- it

is not going to save as much money in the overall scheme. The question

is what will happen to the people that cannot get a credit card or a

lonely? Will they be able to have a baby.

And the fertility experts fear that more areas of the East Midlands

will review funding - do you think they will?

I think a review is likely. The pressures on the NHS funding make

this likely. When you consider in comparison with cancer treatment,

which many people would consider to be at the top of the list. Some

areas are not providing the recommended three cycles.

A Derby man's been given a life sentence for the murder

of his former step-grandfather, who died after being subjected

74-year-old Satnam Singh was walking to his local Sikh Temple in July

2015 when he was killed by Sukhraj Atwal.

Atwal will now serve a minimum of 20 years in prison.

them. It was surprise and shock. I cannot believe that he dead. He was

an inspiration to all volunteers. There is no match to his dedication.

They're probably never will be. Even the judge said that the motive

remains a skier at best. It started it might be due to a family dispute

but Sukhraj Atwal never gave evidence. He was sentenced to a

minimum of 20 years in prison and showed no emotion.

Six teenagers, aged between 13 and 15, have been arrested

after a man was critically injured in Leicester.

We caught up with her today and found that she's now writing

a blog to support other people with rare conditions.

It's been five weeks since we first met Adele from Mansfield. The 2060

watts has a condition that causes heavy bleeding, for which she is

admitted to hospital frequently. There is still no explanation for

the blue patches on her face. But she has been spurred to start her

people in my situation not to feel so alone. For them to see that

somebody is out there that understands. I don't like to say to

somebody that I know how they feel because you don't, you never know

enough supplies to make it out the other side

so we basically jacked up a raft This is where the training

kicks in, I guess. Yeah, it was pretty brutal crossing

Borneo and if it wasn't for our Marine training,

the ethos and the discipline that that instils in you,

we wouldn't have been able to do it. The practicalities,

what about things like fresh water? Fresh water, we've got

purification with us. It doesn't make the water taste very

nice but we can drink it. Do you take food with you or do

you kind of take berries Along the way, we pick up

supplies as and when we can. At some points, we were carrying up

to 14 days worth of food What is going to be

the biggest challenge, then? The complexities and the different

natures of all the islands present numerous different challenges

but Baffin Island is probably It's up in the Arctic Circle

and it's basically like Well, it's Papua New Guinea

next in April, isn't it? And you can follow their journey

at Loughbrough University with the new national lead

swimming coach Mel Marshall. Mel, who coaches Olympic champion

Adam Peaty, is speaking publically for the first time

about her new role. . And it has been for Mel Marshall.

She has coached Adam Peaty it was sporting stadia.

COMMENTATOR: Olympian champion, Gold medal for Adam Peaty of Great

Britain. She won an Olympic coach of the year and got the job she has

always dreamt of in January. I'm in charge of the centre in

Loughborough. I'm in charge of 17 athletes but I work intimately with

a group of seven. She always said to me that that was my Olympics in Rio.

But this was her Olympics. Pretty much everybody around the world as

going for this job. It is good to have somebody that has been at the

Centre for so long. She has been in Loughborough for so long. She has

worked for eight years as head coach at the city of Derby swimming club.

She has gone for battling for time at schools and the council run pools

to this, and elite centre which is everything in and out of the pool.

You've just got everything you need. The world-class gem, world-class

preparation every, world-class staff and world-class athletes. She is

responsible not just for Adam Peaty but for the culture and behaviour of

the centre. In British swimming, we are big on behaviours. If you have

world class every day, you will be eventually world-class. It was the

sport's best performance at the Rio Olympics since 1908. This team are

striving for more. I've read somewhere the other day that leaders

it last. Everybody else comes before you but you still see everybody in

the right direction. I think that is my role here. As the leader that

aids last, she is hungry to drive Adam Peaty and British swimming up

the medal table in 2020. Exciting times for British swimming. Wouldn't

sent in the course of today. This one is Castle Donington. These

happen when you have supercool droplets of water in the clouds that

are starting to turn to ice crystals. They've released some heat

and that makes the water evaporate. As for this, this is a sample. These

occur at sunrise and sunset. Ice crystals start to fall through the

higher level of clouds and it reflects through the sun. As for the

pressure charts, some cold front coming in our direction. These are

weak and expected to bring some drizzle we shall we. This was the

picture earlier one, it started to break up and we saw some sunshine.

Over the course of tonight, we expect to see some cloudy conditions

and some patchy chauvinist working their way through the early overs.
