Brendan Mason suffered 99 separate injuries inflicted by two men he | :00:00. | :00:22.
thought where his friends. Shocked and devastated is an understatement | :00:23. | :00:26.
on how we felt when we had the police at our house, telling us they | :00:27. | :00:29.
had recovered a body and they believed it to be Brendan. Also, | :00:30. | :00:35.
teaching assistants in Derby ramp up their dispute with the council with | :00:36. | :00:40.
a planned five-day strike. Plus, the Nottinghamshire policeman who risked | :00:41. | :00:44.
his life rescuing a man from the freezing River Trent. It's one of | :00:45. | :00:48.
those few days where we get to go home and think, I did actually make | :00:49. | :00:52.
a difference today, and it was certainly one of those days. From | :00:53. | :00:57.
field to factory, the making of sugar in the East Midlands. | :00:58. | :01:06.
Welcome to Monday's programme with Anne Davies | :01:07. | :01:09.
Two men have been sentenced to a total of 41 years and six | :01:10. | :01:17.
months in jail for the brutal murder of a man with learning difficulties | :01:18. | :01:20.
Brendan Mason suffered 99 injuries last July at the hands | :01:21. | :01:27.
of Joshua Hack and Keith Lowe, two men he considered to be friends. | :01:28. | :01:32.
Brendan Mason, described as a happy young man, with his life before him. | :01:33. | :01:47.
But last year, the 23-year-old, who had numerous learning difficulties | :01:48. | :01:50.
and poor vision, was fatally attacked in a park by Joshua Hack | :01:51. | :01:56.
and Keith Lowe, two men he considered to be friends. His family | :01:57. | :02:01.
say they will never be closure. Shocked and devastated is an | :02:02. | :02:04.
understatement on how we felt when we had the police at our house, | :02:05. | :02:07.
telling us they had recovered a body, and they believed it to be | :02:08. | :02:13.
Brendan. It isn't right how two evil can do such a horrific thing and | :02:14. | :02:16.
leave such a massive hole in our lives but will never be filled | :02:17. | :02:21.
again. After misinterpreting Brendan's behaviour towards a girl | :02:22. | :02:25.
at a party, they'd hear him to Abbey Park in Leicester in the early hours | :02:26. | :02:29.
of a morning on the 5th of July last year. Here, they subjected him to a | :02:30. | :02:36.
brutal attack on mobile phone, inflicting 99 injuries before | :02:37. | :02:39.
stripping him naked and placing him in a pond to avoid forensic tracing. | :02:40. | :02:45.
After leaving Brendan is dead, the pair were caught on CCTV at this | :02:46. | :02:50.
McDonald's restaurant. Their victim died later in hospital, after | :02:51. | :02:54.
suffering brain damage, five fractured ribs and collapsed lungs | :02:55. | :03:01.
lungs. 21-year-old Hack admitted murder at an earlier hearing but | :03:02. | :03:05.
22-year-old Lowe had originally denied the attack. But last week | :03:06. | :03:10.
days into the trial, fresh footage emerged of him landing blows on | :03:11. | :03:15.
Brendan. He was forced to change his plea. We felt we had a substantial | :03:16. | :03:20.
case at the start of the trial. Finding the video at the last minute | :03:21. | :03:26.
bolstered that and gave Mr Lowe no opportunity to carry on. It was an | :03:27. | :03:31.
horrific crime and Brendan's family have been deeply distressed. It was | :03:32. | :03:35.
a horrific attack. Today they were jailed for life, they will serve a | :03:36. | :03:40.
minimum of 41 years and six months between them. Sentencing them, the | :03:41. | :03:41.
judge said... Brendan's family are now trying to | :03:42. | :04:04.
rebuild their lives. They say there simply aren't enough words to | :04:05. | :04:07.
describe their heartbreak. The question they continue to ask is | :04:08. | :04:08.
why? Amy, do you know if there was any | :04:09. | :04:12.
reason for the attack? The court heard the attack had been | :04:13. | :04:20.
planned, as I said in my report there after Hack and Lowe | :04:21. | :04:23.
misinterpreted Brendan's behaviour towards a girl at a party, | :04:24. | :04:25.
though it was stressed Hack and Lowe In one of their videos their head | :04:26. | :04:38.
saying to him, this is what happens to paedophiles. The Crown advocates | :04:39. | :04:42.
said nothing could be further from the truth. It was stressed that Hack | :04:43. | :04:47.
and Lowe didn't intend to kill Brendan. They said it was a grievous | :04:48. | :04:54.
bodily harm case not an intention to kill, adding he is tremendously sad | :04:55. | :05:00.
he ever embarked on this. Lowe's representatives said he is ashamed | :05:01. | :05:01.
and sorry for his actions. Unison has said its members | :05:02. | :05:06.
are to step-up their industrial action in Derby over | :05:07. | :05:09.
the long-running dispute between school support staff | :05:10. | :05:10.
and the City Council. That's despite some parents saying | :05:11. | :05:12.
they have now lost sympathy for teaching assistants | :05:13. | :05:15.
following more than 50 days Today, TAs began a 24-hour vigil | :05:16. | :05:17.
outside the council house. Our reporter Carolyn | :05:18. | :05:21.
Moses is there now. Good evening. Just below the clock | :05:22. | :05:38.
you can see in some miserable weather, the teaching assistants | :05:39. | :05:41.
preparing to camp out in shifts through the night, as part of this | :05:42. | :05:45.
24-hour vigil until 12 o'clock tomorrow. It all began just before | :05:46. | :05:51.
midday today with the show of force. Around 150 teaching assistants | :05:52. | :05:55.
marching through the streets, angry, showing their anger that their pay | :05:56. | :05:59.
has been slashed by up to a quarter as part of a City Council pay | :06:00. | :06:04.
review. After nine months of this protest and dispute, they are still | :06:05. | :06:09.
no further on in this dispute. Still at an impact. As they prepared to | :06:10. | :06:15.
bed down, the union is digging in. It's announced five further full | :06:16. | :06:20.
days of action next week. But as we report, it comes as the patience of | :06:21. | :06:25.
parents caught up in this dispute is starting to wear thin. Parents and | :06:26. | :06:30.
school support staff protesting together against Derby City Council, | :06:31. | :06:34.
just last month. But many parents say they've now had enough of both | :06:35. | :06:41.
sides. Gemma Walker's 's son has severe learning difficulties and | :06:42. | :06:45.
relies on teaching assistants. His son has to close with every strike. | :06:46. | :06:49.
They were both that the council protest but now feel they can't | :06:50. | :06:53.
trust either side. They are using our children as pawns, our children | :06:54. | :07:00.
are just pawns. Is that really how you feel? Definitely, without a | :07:01. | :07:06.
doubt. A recent letter from Unison to members urged them to increase | :07:07. | :07:11.
disruption at schools. Jamie says despite still appreciating what they | :07:12. | :07:16.
give her son, it's shaken her trust in the union. I cried because I wish | :07:17. | :07:21.
they could see the impact this has had on the families. I've never felt | :07:22. | :07:25.
that my son has been a burden on society before until now. And that | :07:26. | :07:31.
is how we feel. At two schools in the city, almost every parent we | :07:32. | :07:35.
spoke to this afternoon have lost at least some sympathy for the TAs. | :07:36. | :07:46.
I've lost sympathy to be honest blue bear thinking of themselves, not the | :07:47. | :07:49.
children. I understand they are losing money but it's the kids | :07:50. | :07:52.
education that suffering is. You still sympathise but not as much. | :07:53. | :07:58.
We're going to be put in a situation where we feel like we shouldn't be | :07:59. | :08:04.
behind them. I'm behind them, 100%. Meanwhile for Gemma this has been | :08:05. | :08:07.
the final straw. If Unison said we need our support for the next battle | :08:08. | :08:11.
against the City Council what would you say? I would say no, I'm doing | :08:12. | :08:19.
my own thing. With me now is Nicole Berisford from Unison. We are | :08:20. | :08:23.
hearing that parental support is waning yet you're ramping up your | :08:24. | :08:28.
action, five days up next week, why? We need to let the council know that | :08:29. | :08:33.
our members are serious. They are serious about their campaign, they | :08:34. | :08:39.
are serious about taking action. They've lost 25% of their pay. I'd | :08:40. | :08:45.
like to apologise to parents on behalf of Unison for the disruption | :08:46. | :08:50.
and thank them for their support. However they need to put the | :08:51. | :08:53.
pressure on the council to meaningfully sit round the table and | :08:54. | :08:57.
speak to us. Aren't the parents and the pupils becoming political pawns, | :08:58. | :09:02.
just to make the council act? Well, I don't believe they are. If they | :09:03. | :09:06.
are becoming political pawns that is a decision the Council are making by | :09:07. | :09:11.
not meaningfully talking to Unison. The council have cancelled two out | :09:12. | :09:14.
of three meetings in the last two weeks and walked away from the table | :09:15. | :09:22.
with Acas. Me more than willing to sit down with them but they need to | :09:23. | :09:27.
be to do that to resolve this dispute. The council are saying our | :09:28. | :09:31.
members action is having little or no impact, we know that's not true. | :09:32. | :09:36.
Parents know that's not true. How far are you prepared to go? It's | :09:37. | :09:41.
going to continue until the council sit back round the table and resolve | :09:42. | :09:45.
this dispute. They have the financial means to do that. Sit and | :09:46. | :09:50.
talk to us. We asked for the council to be interviewed, they couldn't be | :09:51. | :09:53.
available for interview but they issued a statement. They say they | :09:54. | :09:57.
are committed to ending this dispute and asking Unison to suspend its | :09:58. | :10:03.
action, but it says it is devastating children's education and | :10:04. | :10:07.
hurting families. It seems as we go on, there are long hours ahead with | :10:08. | :10:11.
the two sides further apart than ever. | :10:12. | :10:15.
A 14-year-old charged with attempted murder has appeared | :10:16. | :10:17.
It follows an incident in Aylestone in the early | :10:18. | :10:21.
hours of Friday morning, where a 27-year-old man | :10:22. | :10:22.
The teenager has also been charged with possession | :10:23. | :10:25.
He's due to appear at Crown Court on the 20th of March. | :10:26. | :10:32.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death | :10:33. | :10:35.
by dangerous driving after a 14-year-old boy died | :10:36. | :10:37.
It happened at around eight o'clock yesterday | :10:38. | :10:42.
evening on Fordbridge Lane in South Normanton, when a push | :10:43. | :10:46.
The driver of the car is also being held on suspicion of failing | :10:47. | :10:51.
to stop at the scene and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs. | :10:52. | :10:56.
A doctor who was sent to a Nottingham school to support | :10:57. | :11:05.
A Nottinghamshire Police officer has been commended for his 'true | :11:06. | :11:08.
courage' after he risked his life diving into the River Trent to | :11:09. | :11:11.
PC James Patterson swam out 50 metres in the freezing waters | :11:12. | :11:15.
PC Patterson's bosses said he gave no thought | :11:16. | :11:20.
for his own safety and described his actions as inspirational. | :11:21. | :11:22.
When the call came in I was across the other side... PC James Patterson | :11:23. | :11:33.
was on duty at the football on Saturday when a call came through | :11:34. | :11:36.
that a man was in the River Trent in Nottingham. He and his colleague | :11:37. | :11:41.
Paul Easter ran to the scene, to find the man 50 metres from the | :11:42. | :11:46.
side. My immediate reaction was, it's too far out to do anything | :11:47. | :11:50.
other than somebody to get into the water. PC Paterson stripped out of | :11:51. | :11:54.
his uniform, dived into the water with a life buoy and swam out to the | :11:55. | :11:58.
man. Colleagues managed to pull them both back to the bank. The officers | :11:59. | :12:05.
on the side had managed to revive him and he was up and breathing. It | :12:06. | :12:10.
was quite an overwhelming sensation what had just happened. A | :12:11. | :12:14.
competitive swimmer since he was eight, PC Paterson is now a member | :12:15. | :12:19.
of the British police swimming team. Also a qualified diver, he spent the | :12:20. | :12:23.
last eight years in the underwater search unit. Did you give any | :12:24. | :12:27.
thought at that stage to your own safety? I think at that point | :12:28. | :12:31.
instinct kicked in and I did what had been trained to do as a police | :12:32. | :12:34.
officer and a life-saver. The man who was rescued is now said to be | :12:35. | :12:39.
awake and talking, and recovering with his family in the Queen 's | :12:40. | :12:42.
medical Centre. Nottinghamshire Police said James and his three | :12:43. | :12:47.
colleagues conducted themselves in a truly inspirational way. His | :12:48. | :12:53.
Sergeant Julian Smedley said PC Paterson displayed true courage, | :12:54. | :12:56.
selfless commitment and determination. He gave no thought | :12:57. | :13:02.
for his own safety. Amazing stuff and worthy of a commendation. We | :13:03. | :13:07.
come across various scenarios and situations where there is also of | :13:08. | :13:13.
outcomes. And I think it's just one of those few days where we get to go | :13:14. | :13:17.
home and think, I did actually make a difference today. And it was one | :13:18. | :13:19.
of those days. What a hero. It's one of our best known acronyms | :13:20. | :13:26.
but if you need reminding, it refers to young people not | :13:27. | :13:29.
in education, Now a campaign's underway | :13:30. | :13:31.
in Nottingham to show them Careers advisers have been out | :13:32. | :13:34.
to meet the neets and give them face-to-face advice on the best ways | :13:35. | :13:38.
of finding a job It's a campaign that's running | :13:39. | :13:41.
on a need to know basis, using an information trailer | :13:42. | :13:48.
and knocking on doors, career advisers want to track down | :13:49. | :13:51.
and talk to people aged 16 to 24, With just under 300 16-18-year-olds | :13:52. | :13:54.
identified as Neets, Nottingham is well under | :13:55. | :14:06.
the National average. But the City Council has pledged | :14:07. | :14:09.
that every 18-24-year-old is guaranteed a job, | :14:10. | :14:12.
training or a place So we want them to be aware | :14:13. | :14:13.
of all of the great support that's available to them, | :14:14. | :14:18.
the things that can help them get We also want parents and carers | :14:19. | :14:20.
to be aware of really good support that's available, | :14:21. | :14:24.
because they often tell us there isn't anything for young | :14:25. | :14:28.
people, and there is. Career advisers Tessa and Diane went | :14:29. | :14:30.
to talk to 21-year-old Charlie, He left school at 16, | :14:31. | :14:33.
but hasn't managed to secure a full-time job in what he'd love | :14:34. | :14:36.
to do, which is landscape gardening. So what kind of help | :14:37. | :14:40.
are you thinking you would benefit from, that the careers service might | :14:41. | :14:43.
be able to give you? I think I would need help | :14:44. | :14:47.
with CVs, applications It's boosted my confidence | :14:48. | :14:50.
in looking for a job, now I know what to do, | :14:51. | :15:01.
how to do it. And how much do you | :15:02. | :15:05.
want to find a job? It's one thing that | :15:06. | :15:07.
I really want to do most. We find these doorstep visits | :15:08. | :15:12.
essential, because a lot of the young people we are working | :15:13. | :15:14.
with are perhaps not ready to be Sometimes they find | :15:15. | :15:18.
that a bit daunting. I think it's brilliant, | :15:19. | :15:20.
these people seem to be taking a keen interest in young people, | :15:21. | :15:23.
and it can only do good. And if it motivates a few | :15:24. | :15:26.
young people into work, Hopefully, yes, then he can | :15:27. | :15:28.
start paying his board. Career advisers will be visiting | :15:29. | :15:37.
the homes throughout the week. Quentin Rayner, BBC | :15:38. | :15:39.

an estimated ?120 million. Motorway bosses say it's needed | :16:07. | :16:11.
to cope with an increase in traffic. Nottinghamshire County Council | :16:12. | :16:16.
has announced a U-turn on its controversial school | :16:17. | :16:18.
admissions policy, which saw some siblings being split up and sent | :16:19. | :16:20.
to different schools. It follows a ruling by | :16:21. | :16:26.
the Schools Adjudicator last month. The Adjudicator said | :16:27. | :16:30.
that to remove a policy, which gave priority to children | :16:31. | :16:32.
who lived outside the catchment area but already had siblings | :16:33. | :16:35.
at the school, was unfair. The council has today | :16:36. | :16:39.
announced that for 2018, Now how many rugby players does it | :16:40. | :16:41.

Leicester City have complained to the Football Association | :17:22. | :17:24.
about the treatment of their supporters | :17:25. | :17:26.
Home fans ran onto the pitch to celebrate the League One | :17:27. | :17:35.
teams shock victory over the Premier League Champions. | :17:36. | :17:37.
Leicester say they've had numerous complaints of abuse, | :17:38. | :17:39.
provocation and intimidation of players, officials | :17:40. | :17:41.
and supporters from the moment they arrived at the ground. | :17:42. | :17:45.
Mounted police were needed to keep home fans away from the Leicester | :17:46. | :17:48.
Meanwhile the manager Claudio Ranieri has called | :17:49. | :17:51.

Leicester are heading for Seville for the first leg of their last 16 | :17:55. | :17:57.
And Colin Hazelden has just sent this from Spain. | :17:58. | :18:04.
You know, you can't really visit Spain without coming to one | :18:05. | :18:06.
But you find it looking a bit like Leicester City's season | :18:07. | :18:11.
And how badly do Leicester City need some sort of result | :18:12. | :18:17.
But, they're going to Sevilla, a couple of hours inland. | :18:18. | :18:22.
And Sevilla, they're third in La Liga, they're just two | :18:23. | :18:24.
And this weekend, Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri put out his squad | :18:25. | :18:32.
players for the Cup tie at Millwall, saving his first team for Europe. | :18:33. | :18:35.
They played well enough in the first half, but missed their chances. | :18:36. | :18:38.
They were given an advantage early in the second half, | :18:39. | :18:43.
when Jake Cooper was sent off for a second bookable offence, | :18:44. | :18:46.
but Leicester once again paid for the lack of goals. | :18:47. | :18:49.
They failed to score for the seventh time in ten | :18:50. | :18:52.
competitive games in 2017, and Millwall struck | :18:53. | :18:54.
A 90th minute winner was the Foxes' first FA Cup defeat to a side | :18:55. | :19:00.
in the third tier or lower, since they were knocked out | :19:01. | :19:02.
Another big blow in what is becoming an embarrassing 2017. | :19:03. | :19:10.
So life far from a beach for Leicester City. | :19:11. | :19:13.
You know, this draw against Sevilla looked so exciting when it came out | :19:14. | :19:16.
Now, there's a very real danger that Leicester's last chance of glory | :19:17. | :19:21.
in this season that should have been a victory lap will | :19:22. | :19:23.
Colin Hazelden, BBC East Midlands Today in Spain. | :19:24. | :19:35.
Colin will be reporting from Seville tomorrow night. | :19:36. | :19:39.
Elsewhere - Notts County's Jon Stead has been named in the English | :19:40. | :19:42.
His goals could have a massive impact on County's season. | :19:43. | :19:46.
But neighbours Nottingham Forest prepare for their important game | :19:47. | :19:48.
at Wigan this week with another defeat behind them. | :19:49. | :19:50.
Nottingham Forest came up against in form Sheffield Wednesday, | :19:51. | :19:53.
and got a chance to go in front with this penalty. | :19:54. | :19:55.
Not intentional, said the ref, so the keeper wasn't sent off, | :19:56. | :19:58.
A minute later, and Wednesday were ahead. | :19:59. | :20:01.
There was no stopping this from Almen Abdi. | :20:02. | :20:04.
Forestieri showed neat touches to get the second, | :20:05. | :20:07.
and then two of the five Academy products in the Forest team combined | :20:08. | :20:10.
Burton set up an Osborn shot, but it's now three defeats in a row. | :20:11. | :20:19.
Notts County got maximum points in their vital game at fellow | :20:20. | :20:22.
County's manager Kevin Nolan used to be the boss at Orient, | :20:23. | :20:28.
and a scramble from Jon Stead saw his new team 2-0 up. | :20:29. | :20:33.
But the Londoners fought back immediately, and eventually sent | :20:34. | :20:36.
this game into a fascinating conclusion. | :20:37. | :20:40.
It looked as though it would be a draw after this made it 2-2, | :20:41. | :20:43.
but County scored a rare away win, and continued their revival under | :20:44. | :20:46.
Nolan when Jon Stead scored his second. | :20:47. | :20:51.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Town's unbeaten run came to an end | :20:52. | :20:53.
In rugby, have the Leicester Tigers turned a corner? | :20:54. | :21:04.
They head to this Friday's game at Harlequins off the back | :21:05. | :21:07.
The latest - a season's best against Bristol. | :21:08. | :21:12.
The long-term injured are coming back, and so too | :21:13. | :21:14.
Just in time for the end of season play-off push. | :21:15. | :21:19.
After nearly three months out with injury, JP Pietersen scored two | :21:20. | :21:22.
Even longer out, Telusa Veainu, firstly with a try, and then | :21:23. | :21:28.
the sort of run he graced the premiership with for | :21:29. | :21:31.
His pace and deft footwork cutting through Bristol, for another score. | :21:32. | :21:38.
The half-century came when the powerful pack went over | :21:39. | :21:44.
Leicester's biggest win of the season. | :21:45. | :21:53.
Former Leicester Tigers boss Richard Cockerill has been appointed | :21:54. | :21:55.
He was sacked by the Tigers earlier this year. | :21:56. | :21:58.
But starts a two year deal at the start of next season. | :21:59. | :22:01.
And finally a mixed weekend for the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey team. | :22:02. | :22:04.
They beat Coventry Blaze 4-1 in Nottingham on Saturday. | :22:05. | :22:07.
But went down to the same team 5-1 in Coventry yesterday evening. | :22:08. | :22:16.
Now each night this week on East Midlands Today we'll be | :22:17. | :22:18.
With a controversial sugar tax on soft drinks looming | :22:19. | :22:22.
we'll be hearing some of the health arguments. | :22:23. | :22:24.
But tonight we look at where the sweet substance | :22:25. | :22:26.
And you might be surprised to learn that much of it is grown | :22:27. | :22:31.
here in the East Midlands and it's processed her too. | :22:32. | :22:36.
We've been given rare access to the British Sugar plant in Newark. | :22:37. | :22:39.
Rob Sissons follows the processing of sugar from field to factory. | :22:40. | :22:49.
They call this the sugar campaign, the East Midlands sugar beet harvest | :22:50. | :22:53.
60% of the sugar in the UK comes from home-grown sugar beet fields, | :22:54. | :23:00.
such as the one we're standing in now. | :23:01. | :23:03.
About 17-18% of this root is actually sugar. | :23:04. | :23:07.
A lot of sugar beet is grown in the East Midlands. | :23:08. | :23:11.
There are 600 growers supplying the new factory. | :23:12. | :23:14.
They've been growing it here since the 1950s. | :23:15. | :23:20.
New varieties, mild winters, increased mechanisation. | :23:21. | :23:23.
They're getting more sugar from these fields | :23:24. | :23:25.
The 1990s, compared with today's crop, we've probably got | :23:26. | :23:31.
Newark's sugar factory has done well to survive. | :23:32. | :23:40.
It's nearly 100 years old, one of only four left run | :23:41. | :23:42.
Within minutes of the sugar beet arriving at the factory, | :23:43. | :23:50.
What television can't convey is the smell here, isn't it? | :23:51. | :23:57.
Which is like a vegetable, a boiling vegetable kind of smell. | :23:58. | :24:04.
Not at the moment, until we get into the factory. | :24:05. | :24:08.
So, the sliced sugar beet, they're called cossettes. | :24:09. | :24:19.
It's a bit like carrot, with quite a bit of sugar in. | :24:20. | :24:29.
Well, we take the juice from the sliced sugar beet, | :24:30. | :24:42.
and we concentrate it up by a series of boiling is, to produce | :24:43. | :24:45.
a thicker solution that is ready to crystallise. | :24:46. | :24:47.
We then introduce some really fine sugar crystals, | :24:48. | :24:49.
that sets off a chain reaction, by which the sugar crystals grow. | :24:50. | :24:56.
So, from the field to the finished product has | :24:57. | :24:58.
And it takes around five of these to create one kilogram of sugar. | :24:59. | :25:10.
So, sugar may be healthy for farming, but what about | :25:11. | :25:13.
Attacks on soft drinks is on the way, but is that right, | :25:14. | :25:18.
The health arguments, on tomorrow night's programme. | :25:19. | :25:29.
Me and my brother used to make sugar sandwiches when we got home from | :25:30. | :25:36.
school! We wouldn't recommend it at all. It was quite tasty. | :25:37. | :25:42.
Sweet tooth, Lucy? Sadly. Some might say I'm sweet enough! | :25:43. | :25:50.
Across the East Midlands we shall maximum temperature is 15 Celsius. | :25:51. | :25:56.
As we move through this week, we'll see some quite changeable weather. A | :25:57. | :26:01.
spell of wet and windy weather on the way overnight into Thursday, and | :26:02. | :26:05.
we will see those temperatures falling away. Here's what's going on | :26:06. | :26:09.
in the bigger picture. We've got a series of weather fronts coming | :26:10. | :26:12.
across the Atlantic. They will bring rain at times and will see the | :26:13. | :26:16.
breeze picking up. Putting the detail onto the map, we've got lots | :26:17. | :26:20.
of cloud around as we move through the evening and overnight. There | :26:21. | :26:23.
will be some outbreaks of drizzle and white patchy rain that will | :26:24. | :26:26.
become more widespread into the early hours. Temperatures overnight | :26:27. | :26:33.
not too bad. A mild start of the day tomorrow, I think we'll see some | :26:34. | :26:36.
outbreaks of rain fizzling out through the morning. In the | :26:37. | :26:39.
north-east a few bright intervals but for most of us a largely cloudy | :26:40. | :26:44.
day. Those winds easing and temperatures reaching 12 Celsius. | :26:45. | :26:48.
It's this rain in the wings that will pick up the breeze and bring | :26:49. | :26:52.
some outbreaks of rain through the night. That will clear in the | :26:53. | :26:55.
morning through to Wednesday and bind it a fresher feel but some | :26:56. | :26:59.
bright intervals. We will feel some noticeably cooler weather as we drag | :27:00. | :27:05.
in some cooler air from the north-east. A cooler field to the | :27:06. | :27:11.
weather. By the time we get to Friday we could even see some wintry | :27:12. | :27:15.
showers. A mild start of the week but things turning increasingly | :27:16. | :27:19.
unsettled. We could see a spell of something wet and windy on Thursday | :27:20. | :27:23.
but there is some uncertainty. Stay tuned to the forecast. Turning more | :27:24. | :27:27.
settled by Friday with the potential to see some wintry showers. I think | :27:28. | :27:33.
we are ready for spring now! I've got my eye on Spain again. | :27:34. | :27:37.
It did looked better there. I think Seville over Skegness! Nothing wrong | :27:38. | :27:43.
with Skegness! Will see later. You're sponsored to swap | :27:44. | :28:12.
clothes? I don't get that. Maybe you wear your mother's | :28:13. | :28:14.
clothes? Cool. Yeah, finally. What? I don't get it, what does she wear? | :28:15. | :28:17.
No, no... Like, she wears someone else's. | :28:18. | :28:19.
Cool, yeah. No, she's... OK, that's too complicated. | :28:20. | :28:21.
Do another one. So, like, you get sponsored to let | :28:22. | :28:23.
people lick stuff off you for a day. Ugh. No, but, like, you get these | :28:24. | :28:26.
flavoured... Not going to happen. You take a selfie and post it on | :28:27. | :28:29.
social media or whatever, and then people have to pay | :28:30. | :28:37.
to guess who it is? That's a no-brainer, | :28:38. | :28:44.
we love the secret selfie. 'For better ideas, | :28:45. | :28:46.
