A gay couple who were attacked by a gang of men on a train

to Paddington say it happened on Valentine's Day, with horrified

passengers calling police who then boarded the train at Ealing.

They say they are now terrified to travel by rail.

Images have now been released of the men that police

The couple themselves have spoken to Tolu Adeoye.

Phil and his boyfriend, Zbynek, had fallen asleep on a train home

after celebrating Valentine's Day in Reading when they were set

One guy just woke me up and said something nasty to us

and I just said leave us alone and the attack starts.

I think they didn't like me laying on Zbynek.

I was laid over him and I think that's what caused the issue.

I'd never gotten in a fight in my life so to suddenly

being punched in the face, I just don't want to think about it.

Police have now released these images of four men

they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

They got off the train at Ealing Broadway moments after the assault.

Police say this was a prolonged, very nasty attack which the victims

believe to have been motivated by homophobia.

They say hate crime of this kind are absolutely not be tolerated

and they are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

At the moment, I'm just a bit scared to go on the evening train.

Most schools in London are set to lose money under a new funding

formula to be introduced by the government.

Ministers argue the system will be fairer, while London Councils say

The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in Islington is set to lose

?650 for every one of its pupils and so, of course, says the head

here there will be an impact on what she can provide.

What we would have to look at is, for example, do

Do we make sure that every teacher is teaching

We would need to think about every subject we offer and all sorts

of things that are outside the learning day by day

in a classroom would have to go, and that would be reducing schools

London schools get ?7,000 a year per pupil, well

above the national average, and the government

What we need to do is make sure that all schools have fair funding.

You have pointed out what this school is getting.

I don't know the school myself, but what I do know

is that it is important to have a fairer funding system

We have not had a funding formula for about 15 years.

The amount the local authorities and schools get is largely based

on how they looked in the early 2000s and is at the moment

based on relatively out-of-date information.

In Tower Hamlets the elected Mayor is clear that there is good reason

why its schools get high levels of funding.

We have the highest level of child poverty of any local authority

in the country and we have very high costs as well, so to build a home

in Tower Hamlets cost more than anywhere else in the country.

To retain staff requires us to pay extra premiums on wages,

and we have high instances of special education needs and kids

in poverty who might have challenging lifestyles

What is clear is that in London challenging decisions lie ahead.

It has been a mixed day of weather and you might well have got caught

in one of the showers earlier on in the afternoon.

Still a few showers to come this evening, but gradually

they will fade away and it should be a dry start to the day tomorrow

with a bit of brightness, the best in western areas,

quite a chilly start to the day just about everywhere.
