Hello and welcome to Look East. In the programme tonight:

:00:06.:00:09.

The firefighter shot dead on holiday as he fought back against

:00:09.:00:17.

The region's Catholic community comes together to mourn the death

:00:17.:00:20.

of their bishop. Prince Charles at Wattisham with

:00:20.:00:25.

Afghanistan medals for a helicopter regiment.

:00:25.:00:35.
:00:35.:00:35.

And news just in - the early days of regional TV. Every so often,

:00:35.:00:45.
:00:45.:00:49.

First tonight, the fireman killed as he fought back against armed

:00:49.:00:54.

robbers at his luxury hotel in South America.

:00:54.:00:57.

Thomas Ossel from the village of Cople near Bedford was on holiday

:00:57.:01:00.

with his brother on Margarita Island, off the coast of Venezuela.

:01:00.:01:05.

When men burst into the hotel, he put up a fight and was shot dead.

:01:05.:01:15.
:01:15.:01:15.

His younger brother was injured. Jo Black is in Copel now.

:01:15.:01:20.

It was the dream holiday that went horribly wrong. When faced with

:01:20.:01:24.

being robbed, some of us might like to think that we would stand up for

:01:24.:01:28.

ourselves. That is exactly what Thomas Ossel did, but he paid with

:01:28.:01:32.

his life. Thomas Ossel loved to travel. A

:01:32.:01:37.

Bedfordshire boy with a real spirit of adventure who liked to widen his

:01:37.:01:41.

horizons. The 28-year-old fire fighter had been on a five-week

:01:41.:01:46.

trip to South America with a friend and his younger brother. On the day

:01:46.:01:50.

they were meant to leave Margarita Island, they were rocked by an

:01:50.:01:54.

armed gang in their hotel room. They tried to resist and Jack was

:01:54.:02:00.

stabbed in the back, but Thomas was shot and died minutes later. When

:02:00.:02:04.

the various subjects arrived, we had preliminaries that three people

:02:04.:02:08.

entered the hotel. About have moment, this cities and resisted

:02:08.:02:13.

and in response, he was shot in his right armpit and that caused his

:02:13.:02:19.

death. In the family's home, there was real sorrow at the news.

:02:19.:02:23.

Thomas's father has travelled to the Venezuelan capital to join

:02:23.:02:28.

James, his surviving son. A family friend said they are all devastated.

:02:29.:02:35.

He was a bold, he was a real adventurer, he loved adventures and

:02:35.:02:40.

travelling. He was always travelling. I think he travelled to

:02:40.:02:44.

an amazing amount of countries. Very seasoned and experienced

:02:44.:02:49.

travel, somebody who laughed and adventure. Today, Thomas's

:02:49.:02:53.

colleagues said they could not believe this has happened. He was a

:02:54.:03:00.

character and he will be sorely missed. He has left a void on this

:03:00.:03:04.

watch. It will never be filled by anyone. According to the Foreign

:03:04.:03:11.

Office, street crime -- street crime is rife in South America. It

:03:11.:03:18.

seems Thomas Ossel has paid the ultimate price.

:03:18.:03:22.

We have spoken to the manager of the hotel where the attack took

:03:22.:03:26.

place. The police told him that the gang are at large, but they are

:03:26.:03:30.

currently the most wanted men on the island. Cars are being stopped

:03:30.:03:34.

and searched, but police have told him that they expect to have this

:03:34.:03:37.

matter sorted within a few days. Sarah Grainger is the BBC's

:03:37.:03:45.

correspondent in Venezuela. She's in Caracas now. We can join her

:03:45.:03:49.

life. Sarah, we heard that this kind of crime is common. His crime

:03:49.:03:58.

a real problem in menswear it is. - in Venezuela. The government is

:03:58.:04:03.

reluctant to release statistics on crime so the journalists count the

:04:03.:04:08.

number of bodies that go into the morgues. On a weekend, it is not

:04:08.:04:12.

unusual to see up to 40 people killed, most of them victims of

:04:12.:04:18.

street crime. Most of the criminals approach people for mobile phones

:04:18.:04:24.

or jury and they are armed with guns and knives. When it comes to

:04:24.:04:28.

tourists going to places like Margarita Island, which look

:04:28.:04:32.

idyllic, what would advise the for travellers as far as if this

:04:32.:04:40.

happens to them? Margarita Island is a Caribbean island and lots of

:04:40.:04:45.

Venezuelans want to go there on holiday, but it does not reflect

:04:45.:04:49.

the general social problems that are rife in Venezuela as a whole.

:04:49.:04:55.

Street crime is rife so if you're approached, if criminals ask you

:04:55.:04:58.

for your bowling -- belongings, you should become blind and give them

:04:58.:05:05.

whatever they want. That way you will avoid a tragic situation.

:05:05.:05:11.

Sarah, thank you very much. The new Chief Executive of Suffolk County

:05:11.:05:14.

Council is likely to be paid a salary of 157,000. That's 60,000

:05:14.:05:17.

less than Andrea Hill received for doing the same job. Ms Hill was

:05:17.:05:20.

forced to resign earlier this month following a long running

:05:20.:05:22.

controversy during which she refused to take a pay cut. Our

:05:22.:05:26.

political correspondent Andrew Sinclair is here. That's a big drop

:05:26.:05:34.

in salary? It is. Suffolk County Council knew that after the

:05:34.:05:38.

controversy over Andrea Hill, whoever is a new teeth and say --

:05:38.:05:46.

cheap executive, what salary they receive will be closely scrutinised.

:05:46.:05:51.

This is only a proposal at the moment because he wants to consult

:05:51.:05:56.

with the opposition parties, which is different to last time. They

:05:56.:06:02.

believe it is a fair salary. Times have changed from having high

:06:02.:06:05.

salaries. We are seeing a across the country that there is a more

:06:05.:06:09.

realistic approach to his salary levels. If you think that the

:06:09.:06:17.

previous chief executive was paid 218,000, this represents a 25 %

:06:17.:06:23.

reduction in salary which we feel sends out the right signal.

:06:23.:06:26.

local government secretary, Eric Pickles, wants to see chief

:06:26.:06:29.

executives earning around the same as the prime minister and this is

:06:29.:06:33.

not even close. And how does 157,000 compare to the salaries of

:06:33.:06:36.

other chief executives in the region? It will be the lowest

:06:36.:06:40.

salary paid to a county council chief executive in the east. The

:06:40.:06:47.

other three big earners are in Essex, a basic salary of

:06:47.:06:53.

230,000,... It is worth pointing out that John that runs at

:06:53.:06:59.

Brentwood council and has taken by % pay cut. David White has taken on

:06:59.:07:02.

extra responsibilities so there is no pressure on them, but when they

:07:02.:07:06.

move on, when their contracts are weak negotiator, expect those

:07:06.:07:12.

figures to come down. Church leaders from around the

:07:12.:07:15.

world attended the funeral of the Bishop of East Anglia Michael Evans

:07:15.:07:18.

in Norwich this afternoon. Bishop Michael died last week at the age

:07:18.:07:25.

of 59 after a long battle with They came from across East Anglia

:07:25.:07:28.

from across the UK and the world to say goodbye. More than 1,000 people,

:07:28.:07:35.

young and old, packed into the cathedral of St John the Baptist.

:07:35.:07:37.

The Archbishop of Westminster Vincent Nicholls lead the funeral

:07:37.:07:45.

mass. Cardinal Cormack Murphy O'Conner was there. So too the

:07:45.:07:51.

Bishop of Norwich Graham James. On Bishop Michael's coffin - lay his

:07:51.:07:57.

staff, his chalice and Bible. April, a very sensitive interview

:07:57.:08:04.

took place on Look East bid team the presenter and Bishop Michael.

:08:04.:08:11.

The Tom Elliot was delivered by Bishop Michael's right hand man.

:08:11.:08:15.

Instructions for his funeral were not surprisingly very detailed, but

:08:15.:08:21.

also very simple. He said he wanted the emphasis to be on the Christian

:08:21.:08:28.

meaning of death rather than focusing on him. Michael Evans

:08:28.:08:33.

became the Catholic Bishop of East Anglia in 2003. A parish priest

:08:33.:08:38.

from Kent, he was appointed by Pope John Paul the second. Expecting to

:08:38.:08:42.

serve for many years, Bishop Michael was diagnosed with cancer

:08:42.:08:48.

in 2005. He was an incredibly gentle man, that is something that

:08:48.:08:53.

came across for most of us. Whether he was dealing with problems all

:08:53.:08:58.

just in his normal day-to-day life, he was an incredibly gentle man.

:08:58.:09:03.

should be remembered as a wonderful friend to people, a great pastor,

:09:03.:09:08.

and they think he should be remembered for the way in which he

:09:08.:09:11.

approached his death. It is a strange thing to say, but the

:09:11.:09:16.

measure of a man is in his dying and he lived fully until the last

:09:16.:09:26.
:09:26.:09:27.

moment. They combined choir from Catholic schools led the singing of

:09:27.:09:37.
:09:37.:09:40.

Bisham Michael's favourite hymn, I I shall miss him, we will miss him

:09:40.:09:45.

very much. But now, thank God, his suffering is over and we pray that

:09:46.:09:55.
:09:56.:10:06.

he is at peace. He is probably Bishop Michael's coffin was carried

:10:06.:10:09.

from the west door of the cathedral before the clergy said a final

:10:09.:10:19.
:10:19.:10:19.

farewell. Farewell to a priest described today as that funny

:10:19.:10:29.
:10:29.:10:29.

little man we grew to laugh. Later in the programme:

:10:29.:10:32.

Current Look East reporter Nikki Jenkins reports from Luton, and one

:10:32.:10:36.

of her predecessors was in Lavenham. This is the guildhall in Lavenham.

:10:36.:10:40.

It was built in the time of Henry VIII and it became the centre of

:10:40.:10:44.

the cloth trade in this town. That's coming up after more news

:10:44.:10:54.
:10:54.:10:54.

The disgraced Tory peer Lord Hanningfield has lost an appeal

:10:54.:10:59.

against his conviction for fiddling parliamentary expenses. He who was

:10:59.:11:04.

jailed on six counts of false accounting earlier this month. Our

:11:04.:11:11.

political reporter Ben Bland was at today's hearing in London.

:11:11.:11:16.

The Lord was not in court today, but his lawyer launched the appeal

:11:16.:11:20.

which focused on a direction that the judge gave to the jury at the

:11:20.:11:24.

very end of the trial. The judge had said to the jury, in deciding

:11:24.:11:29.

whether it he was guilty or not, they had to ignore the fact that he

:11:29.:11:32.

was out of pocket because over the years, he had spent more on his own

:11:32.:11:37.

house than he had ever claimed back in expenses. His lawyer said that

:11:37.:11:41.

that was a critical mist direction which meant a conviction was

:11:41.:11:45.

inevitable. He said there was a difference between trying to lose -

:11:45.:11:50.

- reduce your losses and making a game. The presiding judge said, as

:11:50.:11:55.

ingenious as that suggestion was, it was wrong in law. He was

:11:55.:11:58.

satisfied the jury did receive an actor right direction and for that

:11:58.:12:03.

reason the appeal was rejected. What happens next?

:12:03.:12:09.

Last week, the allowance was suspect -- suspended. It is still

:12:09.:12:14.

open to him and his legal team to take it to the next level and

:12:14.:12:17.

appeal further. They have not indicated whether they would do

:12:17.:12:22.

that and in the meantime, it remains a county -- he remains a

:12:22.:12:28.

county councillor in Essex albeit behind bars.

:12:28.:12:31.

A fire involving 40,000 tons of recycled wood chippings is still

:12:31.:12:34.

burning two weeks after it caught light. The blaze started at Rio

:12:34.:12:37.

Recycling in Orsett in Essex on July 5th. Crews left the site last

:12:37.:12:40.

Friday to allow it to burn out naturally, but are still visiting

:12:40.:12:46.

regularly to ensure it is safe. The Prince of Wales been speaking

:12:46.:12:48.

of his huge admiration at the courage of Apache helicopter crews

:12:48.:12:52.

in Afghanistan and Libya. The Prince was presenting campaign

:12:52.:12:55.

medals to members of the Army Air Corps at Wattisham Airfield where

:12:55.:13:00.

his younger son Prince Harry is training to be an Apache pilot.

:13:00.:13:03.

Back from Helmand, 130 men and women from 4 Regiment await their

:13:03.:13:13.
:13:13.:13:24.

Colonel in Chief. For 35 of them, this their first operational tour.

:13:24.:13:31.

It obviously requires extraordinary skill, ingenuity and courage to fly

:13:31.:13:36.

the Apache in order to support the troops on the ground. I have been

:13:36.:13:44.

in the Prince of Wales's presents, but not what I was receiving a male.

:13:44.:13:50.

Today was fantastic. -- receiving a medal. You could forgive the Prince

:13:50.:13:52.

Charles for perhaps taking an added interest in Wattisham's crews.

:13:52.:13:56.

After all, his younger son, out of sight today, hopes to be flying an

:13:56.:13:59.

Apache in the skies over Helmand once he is battle trained next year.

:13:59.:14:02.

Prince Harry has already seen action in Afghanistan, as a forward

:14:02.:14:05.

air controller, and has made no secret of his wish to return to the

:14:05.:14:07.

front. Unlike other army units, which

:14:07.:14:09.

deploy to Afghanistan every two years or so, Wattisham's two

:14:09.:14:12.

regiments have between them been there continuously for the last

:14:12.:14:15.

five years, which is why some men and women here are now on their 8th

:14:15.:14:18.

tour of Afghanistan. Of course we should not forget that

:14:18.:14:20.

Wattisham's Apaches are seeing action on two fronts, both in

:14:20.:14:23.

Afghanistan and here in the Mediterranean, flying from HMS

:14:23.:14:27.

Ocean to strike key targets in Libya. That must put a terrific

:14:27.:14:34.

strain on the two regiments. definitely does. It has to be done

:14:34.:14:40.

with understanding of what needs to be achieved. Prince Charles made a

:14:40.:14:44.

point of chatting to families of serving soldiers, acutely aware

:14:44.:14:52.

that one day his son might take part in a homecoming parade here.

:14:52.:14:55.

The analogue TV signal in Essex and most of Suffolk was switched off

:14:55.:14:58.

last night. It means if you have a Freeview TV

:14:58.:15:01.

or box, you may need to re-tune. If you receive your television from

:15:01.:15:04.

Sky, Freesat or a cable supplier, you won't be affected. If you want

:15:04.:15:07.

more information or help, you can phone the Digital UK helpline on

:15:07.:15:17.

08456 50 50 50 or go to the website at www.digitaluk.co.uk. Here's a

:15:17.:15:20.

fact. Back in the 1960s, 10% of Norwich's workforce made shoes

:15:21.:15:23.

specifically shoes for women and children. Many factories have since

:15:23.:15:26.

fallen by the wayside of course, but one is celebrating its 75th

:15:26.:15:28.

birthday. The Florida Shoe Factory in 1936.

:15:28.:15:32.

It was based on Florida Corner in Norwich. By the boom of the late

:15:32.:15:35.

50's, the company moved its name and its base here to the north of

:15:35.:15:39.

the city. At its height, 400 people worked here.. Now there are about

:15:39.:15:48.

90. Alan Lake is one of the longest serving. There was a stream of

:15:48.:15:53.

people here when I first came into the trade. The girls were upstairs,

:15:53.:15:58.

two or three lines of them. Their work was quite different to what it

:15:58.:16:02.

is today. This factory makes 1,200 pairs of shoes a week and while it

:16:02.:16:05.

uses cheap labour in Asia, 15% of their shoes are made from start to

:16:05.:16:15.
:16:15.:16:16.

The shoes they're making are called Van Dal, a wider fitting ladies

:16:16.:16:22.

shoes originally referred to as the Norfolk Broads. The brand name came

:16:22.:16:31.

from the current chairman's father 65 years ago. On a very good night

:16:31.:16:35.

out, they were deciding what to call themselves. The night got

:16:35.:16:39.

longer, the conversation flowed and they decided to call themselves the

:16:39.:16:44.

vandals. Having done that, they it stylised it, hyphenated it and that

:16:44.:16:48.

is where the word originally came from. It was nothing to do with

:16:48.:16:55.

Holland at all. So that is the history, but what about the future?

:16:55.:16:59.

The nature of the business means that you could be more or less

:16:59.:17:03.

located anywhere in the country, all in Europe. There are big

:17:03.:17:08.

benefits of being in Norwich. There is an expertise locally that we can

:17:08.:17:14.

draw from. But for now they're looking backwards. To mark 75 years

:17:14.:17:17.

in Norwich, they've launched the Van Dal vintage range using their

:17:17.:17:27.
:17:27.:17:27.

You're watching Look East from the BBC. Coming up:

:17:27.:17:30.

It's just not badminton. Stars speak out on the rows that split

:17:30.:17:39.

It's been 12 months since devastating floods hit Pakistan

:17:39.:17:42.

displacing millions of people. Earlier this year, Look East

:17:42.:17:45.

reporter Nikki Jenkins travelled to some of the worst effected areas to

:17:45.:17:49.

see how money raised here was helping people there.

:17:49.:17:52.

Now with Ramadan, a traditional time for giving, once again

:17:52.:17:55.

approaching, she reports on how the Luton fundraisers are returning to

:17:55.:18:02.

their task with renewed determination.

:18:02.:18:07.

They had come to ensure the money had gone on where it was more

:18:07.:18:11.

needed. What they saw was that it was needed more. From a fund-

:18:12.:18:18.

raising perspective, we need to do more here. You have raised to X

:18:18.:18:21.

amount of money, but X amount of money needs to be raised so you do

:18:21.:18:24.

more work. Four months on and the first

:18:24.:18:27.

Islamic Relief's shop in Luton is open for business. It is not just

:18:27.:18:33.

Luton, people come from Hemel had a Henstead, Bedford, they drive all

:18:33.:18:39.

that way to donate things. -- Hemel Hempstead. When we got back, the

:18:39.:18:47.

response was inspiring. We saw that we needed more presence in the

:18:47.:18:50.

community after the work we did out there. The group's first

:18:50.:18:52.

fundraising dinner was the most ambitious Luton's Muslim community

:18:52.:18:59.

had ever hosted, boasting cricket star Shahid Afridi. We provide

:18:59.:19:03.

water for 2000 people every single day. This Friday a second will try

:19:03.:19:09.

and replicate its success. money from this event will go to a

:19:09.:19:12.

found Dench and. The charity has been longing for a long time and

:19:12.:19:20.

they help support the school's cost for the year. -- the money will go

:19:20.:19:28.

to a foundation. We will help people sponsor a school. We are

:19:28.:19:32.

thinking of sponsoring at least 15 schools. The Luton community is

:19:32.:19:36.

very giving and are supportive of good causes. If they can see work

:19:37.:19:40.

being done, and that was a key thing from our trip, people

:19:40.:19:44.

physically saw the work being done. It has been very positive. And with

:19:44.:19:47.

a new Africa crisis emerging they plan to expand their fundraising

:19:47.:19:53.

horizons in the years to come. When you think of badminton, you

:19:53.:19:56.

might think of Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson winning a silver medal at

:19:56.:20:03.

the Olympics in 2004. 4.5 million people watched them win in Athens

:20:03.:20:05.

but since then the sport's struggled.

:20:05.:20:08.

Poor results and arguments within the squad have led to its funding

:20:08.:20:11.

being cut. Coaches now hope they can rebuild the sports image in the

:20:11.:20:18.

build up towards the London Olympics.

:20:18.:20:24.

Thrilling the nation, the nation winning a silver medal in Athens,

:20:24.:20:28.

but that was seven years ago and since then badminton has struggled

:20:28.:20:34.

to hit the same heights. We have gone through a transitional period

:20:34.:20:39.

in the last few years. Gail and myself were Commonwealth champions

:20:39.:20:43.

and that is difficult to replicate because we have the same players at

:20:43.:20:46.

the top of the sport for so long that we did not get the next group

:20:46.:20:51.

of players able to come through. While Gail retired, Robertson keeps

:20:51.:20:56.

going, training here at the local badminton centre in Milton Keynes.

:20:56.:21:01.

The sport has recovered from a turbulent time. A long standing

:21:01.:21:07.

dispute has led to the resignation of the team's coat. They have been

:21:07.:21:12.

rows and sacking of coach is, for rings out, certain players being

:21:12.:21:16.

thrown out of the squad, that is not what you need. We are not

:21:16.:21:20.

telling people that you have to live with each other, we just want

is hope for the future. Much is expected of this man. This woman is

:21:38.:21:44.

also one for the future. 2012 will come too soon go. Probably not this

Brazil. This couple of are the best hope of a medal at next month's

:21:59.:22:02.

Championships in London. Others will be in the spotlight for the

:22:02.:22:06.

first time as Englishmen -- English badminton tries to recapture some

:22:06.:22:12.

of its former glory. There is often a problem with sport

:22:12.:22:14.

when a big name retires or leaves the sport.

:22:14.:22:20.

Absolutely, things like rowing with Redgrave. That is another sport,

:22:20.:22:25.

perhaps cycling. When they eventually go, replacing them his

:22:25.:22:29.

own difficult and that is what is happening in badminton.

:22:29.:22:35.

We wish them all the best, we hope they get more medals. We're going

:22:35.:22:38.

from present day Look East now to regional TV in the old days.

:22:38.:22:42.

A programme tonight on BBC 4 is looking back at how things used to

:22:42.:22:45.

be. Look East was the first BBC regional news programme to make it

:22:45.:22:48.

to air. Some great reporters started life here, but not everyone

:22:48.:22:58.
:22:58.:22:58.

was complimentary. Smokeless zones in northern towns

:22:58.:23:04.

and cities. The BBC's regional TV service was launched in an attempt

:23:04.:23:11.

to compete with the Nikkei on the television blog in the late 1950s.

:23:11.:23:21.
:23:21.:23:24.

That was ITV. First up is the Anglian news. We arrogantly thought

:23:24.:23:32.

the BBC was a complete joke. We thrashed them to bits of. I think

:23:32.:23:42.

the ITV stations it did very well. When I was at the BBC, the director

:23:42.:23:47.

watched Look East and he was appalled by the standards and so he

:23:47.:23:51.

sent the editor to instruct us in the basics of television. We were a

:23:51.:23:57.

bit hurt, but we learnt a lot. were black and white, we were on

:23:57.:24:03.

film. Two years ago, the colonel died and there was a big recruiting

:24:03.:24:13.
:24:13.:24:14.

problem. What is the situation now? I was doing it in what I imagine

:24:14.:24:19.

where the cut-glass accents of the upper class. I was trying to beat

:24:19.:24:25.

David Dimbleby. The extra Orient -- extraordinary thing about this area

:24:25.:24:32.

is this: There are a score of houses like this. What do you think

:24:32.:24:36.

of the fact that the trains are later? If you cannot work out who

:24:36.:24:41.

this is, find out tonight on BBC Four at 9pm.

:24:41.:24:47.

Not much has changed! Absolutely nothing at all!

:24:47.:24:53.

I love the voices, they are so posh. We tried very hard not to talk like

:24:53.:25:03.

There has been a lot of cloud around today. This was our

:25:03.:25:06.

satellite start at 5pm. A couple of places got sunshine, but the reason

:25:06.:25:10.

for this cloud has been that we have been between two areas of

:25:10.:25:15.

pressure, one to the south-west and one further north. I'm going to run

:25:15.:25:21.

the bait of shot to show where the shower activity was. -- run at the

:25:21.:25:25.

radar chart. There are some showers that have merged together to form

:25:25.:25:29.

more persistent rain in the south which is mainly affecting part

:25:29.:25:33.

fidget and Essex. For this evening, those areas will continue to have a

:25:33.:25:37.

couple of light showers. On the whole, the rain will clear away,

:25:37.:25:42.

but it could linger, perhaps parts of Essex and the Suffolk coast

:25:42.:25:46.

might get some showers, but largely dry. Towards the end of the night,

:25:46.:25:49.

clear spells developing in the West. Temperatures could fall to 10

:25:50.:25:56.

degrees. The winds are mainly light and variable, but by the time we

:25:56.:26:03.

get to morning, they will be light. For tomorrow, there will be some

:26:03.:26:07.

sunshine around and the cloud will break to allow more sunshine, but

:26:07.:26:11.

also we could see some sharp showers so a dry and bright start

:26:11.:26:15.

for many of us through the morning. Then the showers will get going.

:26:15.:26:19.

There will be a good scattering and they could turn heavy in places,

:26:19.:26:22.

but you will see that between the showers, there will be some gaps

:26:22.:26:27.

and some sunshine. Temperatures likely to climb to 20 degrees. The

:26:27.:26:34.

winds will stay light and you will see what that, around the Norfolk

:26:34.:26:39.

coast line, temperatures will mark get higher than 17 degrees. On the

:26:39.:26:43.

coast, on the beach itself, it could be a bit cooler. Through the

:26:43.:26:48.

afternoon, we keep a risk of showers and the potential to turn

:26:48.:26:51.

heavy. Also you will see there is some sunshine expected,

:26:51.:26:54.

particularly in the north of Norfolk by the end of the day into

:26:54.:26:58.

the evening. For the rest of the week and into the weekend, I will

:26:58.:27:03.

bring the pressure chart back to show you we have got a bridge -- a

:27:03.:27:05.

ridge of high pressure so that promises more settled weather. The

:27:05.:27:09.

only thing is we are between an area of low pressure over

:27:09.:27:13.

Scandinavia and these weather systems over the Atlantic so we

:27:13.:27:16.

have still got the potential for some light showers. It is mostly

:27:16.:27:20.

dry for Friday and Saturday, the chance of an isolated shower, but

:27:20.:27:25.

it does look like for the 7th -- second half of the weekend there

:27:25.:27:33.
