Good evening. Extra police on patrol along the A 14 this evening

after yet another car was hit by stones thrown from a bridge. The

latest incident happened just north of Newmarket. Nobody was heard this

time but it is the 7th case of its time -- of its type in the region

this month. One small lives have been put at risk. This time a man

from Norfolk driving a friend to Cambridge to catch a train. It was

at 4:15pm yesterday, his car hit by stones. The windscreens smashed,

they escaped unharmed. It is the latest in a series of similar

incidents this month. On the 1st December a concrete block was

thrown from a bridge on the a 12 in Essex, 30 minutes later, a woman

was badly injured. The block of concrete going through her car

windscreen. A former later rocks were held at drivers on the a 14 at

St Mary. Then three more instance in Suffolk, a car, an ambulance and

three more lorries were damaged. Police say they could be dealing

with copycat incidents. There has been a lot of publicity, regionally

and nationally. Incredible as it sounds, it may be that some people

have thought it is a good idea and are doing something of a copycat

nature. It could have been catastrophic in terms of

consequences. Police have stepped up patrols in terms of market and

unmarked police cars and a helicopter. They have tried to

establish a profile of likely offenders by examining the times

and places where the incidence take place. Above all, they need

intelligence, information from the public. They say if they see anyone

acting suspiciously on bridges, they should dial 999 immediately.

Two people are being held by Cambridgeshire police in connection

with a death of a man in Chittering. Officers announced yesterday a man

was arrested. Today it emerged they have also picked up a 21 year-old

woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.

100 jobs could be created by an engineering firm in Lowestoft, they

have won a multi-million pound contract to build accommodation rig

for oil workers. It marks a major turnaround for the company which

went into administration last year. Retail analysts are warning it will

be another tough year for our shops. With that in mind, we have been

focusing on trade in the centre in Milton Keynes, we were last there

three days before Christmas. How has trade been since then?

Everywhere you look, the signs are calling out to you. Do you want

something shiny? Whatever it is, the signs are clear. Chances are it

is on sale. But is anyone buying? Being a bit more careful, not as

mad as previous years but still enjoying the sales. So spending

more at Christmas and more in the sales. More bargains if you look

carefully enough. Those are the shoppers, and there was certainly a

steady stream of them today. But what about our retailers?

Discounted, devalued, depressing. That was last week, has anything

changed? It has been quite robust so far. Post-Christmas sales can

never make up for money lost before Christmas, before Christmas you

hope to sell at full price and make a good profit. After Christmas you

are selling just to get cash in. Last week John Lewis saw a surge in

shoppers after a sluggish start. The autumn weather meant a slow

start, but that has continued into Christmas. With clearance under way,

it has not been better. Milton Keynes was incredibly busy. I have

never seen so many shoppers in our shop. The things might be picking

up, but will the road signs be enough to help the Return to stay

out of the red? I onto football, nearly 27,000

people were at Carrow Road last night, Norwich lost 2-0 to Spurs,

but remain 11th in the table. Boxing Day Plus One, the visitors

riding on the coat-tails of the Manchester two. On an unseasonally

warm night, Spurs showed what they could do from the start. Gareth

not be denied after the break, he found the net 10 minutes in after

some nifty footwork from Emmanuel Adebayor. 10 minutes later, Gareth

before lifting the Macgregor over John Ruddy. No way back for Norwich,

who did not see enough of the Macgregor on the night to pay

something together. We gave it everything we had, but the goals

were disappointing. I cannot fault the effort we showed. A Norwich

have done great, Paul Lambert has done a great job. If they stay in

the league this year, it will be a fantastic achievement. They have a

great chance. Norwich are 11th and looking good on their return to the

Premier League. At this stage last season blackball had four points

more and still went down. Much more to do and three points at home to

the middle of the day temperatures will be at their best, six or seven

should see things moving away, then it is a case of Friday being rather
