First tonight - the new animal disease spreading to farms across | :00:11. | :00:18.
the region. It affects sheep and cattle and so far there is no cure. | :00:18. | :00:22.
1 the you try to do your best, sometimes you feel you are letting | :00:22. | :00:30.
them down but there is nothing you can do about it. 24 years in jail | :00:30. | :00:34.
for a gang which smuggled cigarettes. Occupants of an Essex | :00:34. | :00:40.
churchyard are told to get out or face legal action. And the Norfolk | :00:40. | :00:50.

family who have had their holiday First tonight, the new animal | :00:56. | :01:01.
disease spreading to farms across the region. It affects the sheep | :01:01. | :01:04.
and cattle and so far there is no cure. | :01:04. | :01:07.
It's called the Schmallenberg Virus after the town in Germany where it | :01:07. | :01:10.
was first seen. It affects sheep, cattle, goats and deer and causes | :01:10. | :01:13.
stillbirths and birth defects. The virus is spread by midges and has | :01:13. | :01:16.
moved into the UK from the Continent. On January 23rd it was | :01:16. | :01:21.
seen in Norfolk, Suffolk, and East Sussex. By January 31st it had | :01:21. | :01:25.
spread into Essex and Kent. Now, the virus is present in Norfolk, | :01:25. | :01:28.
Suffolk, Essex, and Hertfordshire and in east and west Sussex, Kent, | :01:28. | :01:33.
Surrey, Hampshire, Cornwall and Wiltshire. Jozef Hall has spent | :01:33. | :01:43.
:01:43. | :01:47. | ||
today on two of our affected farms. This disease is a really nasty | :01:47. | :01:52.
disease. Make no mistake about it, also a very young disease so not | :01:52. | :01:57.
much is known about it. Farmers across England are already being | :01:57. | :02:01.
affected and those who have been have already found out very clearly | :02:01. | :02:07.
that it is something most unwelcome. I must warn you that this report | :02:07. | :02:11.
contain some graphic images. As you can see, you cannot see anything | :02:11. | :02:21.
wrong with them, and we are hoping that these have not been affected. | :02:21. | :02:25.
Clive has been in farming for over 40 years, through blue tongue and | :02:25. | :02:29.
foot and mouth, but he says the invisible nature of this disease | :02:29. | :02:35.
means you do not know until it is too late. This is a typical | :02:35. | :02:42.
affected Lamb, a deformed head, the neck is twisted round, the joints | :02:42. | :02:48.
are fused, so they don't bend, the back legs are tucked underneath and | :02:48. | :02:53.
don't straighten out. It is hoped affected animals will build up | :02:53. | :02:59.
antibodies to stop it in the future, similar to chicken pox. One of the | :02:59. | :03:05.
few positives to be found. We have been quite lucky relative to some | :03:05. | :03:11.
stories I have heard, we have lost about 75 lambs, which in monetary | :03:11. | :03:18.
terms is about 7,000 worth of sales. It is not just the places | :03:19. | :03:24.
with confirmed outbreaks which are suffering, farms across the country, | :03:24. | :03:28.
like this one in Hertfordshire, are holding their breath to see if they | :03:28. | :03:33.
will be next. We have had cases in this county and surrounding | :03:33. | :03:37.
counties, we start lambing this weekend and I would be very | :03:37. | :03:41.
surprised if we come through it without being affected. With | :03:42. | :03:46.
outbreaks across Europe, a combined effort is underway to find an | :03:46. | :03:50.
effective vaccine. The general consensus suggests that his two | :03:50. | :03:55.
years away. Until then, farmers like Robert and Clive can only | :03:55. | :04:01.
watch and hope. So, here at this farm, thankfully at the moment no | :04:01. | :04:11.
:04:11. | :04:12. | ||
cases identified. I have spoken to France earlier, 58 have been spoken | :04:12. | :04:19.
and the revised figure is now 74 farms. Those also include the I'll | :04:19. | :04:23.
of Wight, Wiltshire, West Berkshire and Gloucestershire. They made the | :04:23. | :04:26.
point that it is not surprising more cases are coming out because | :04:26. | :04:32.
we are in the lambing season. The more farms are Lamming be more will | :04:32. | :04:36.
find they have this horrible disease. They have advised to farms | :04:36. | :04:41.
who may be concerned, they say they should take the standard measures | :04:41. | :04:45.
which would be in place for other endemic diseases. | :04:45. | :04:48.
Dr Dan Tucker is from the Vet school at Cambridge University. | :04:48. | :04:52.
When I spoke to him late this afternoon he told me what can be | :04:52. | :04:59.
done to stop the spread of the virus. Early days to work out how | :04:59. | :05:04.
we will stop the spread of the boroughs, but we must understand | :05:04. | :05:08.
where the cases are occurring and to get those investigated. In terms | :05:08. | :05:13.
of understanding how to stop it, we need to understand how it is spread. | :05:13. | :05:18.
We need to understand that, when the hibernation period ends for | :05:18. | :05:26.
these images, spreading the virus. It is about waiting. There is | :05:26. | :05:31.
nothing that farmers can do? Unfortunately, if it is going to | :05:31. | :05:36.
happen, it will already have happened. In October, | :05:36. | :05:41.
meteorologists thought that a plume of insects came over from Europe, | :05:41. | :05:46.
in mainland Europe where they see many cases of this. That was in | :05:46. | :05:50.
October, the insects will have bitten and caused infections after | :05:50. | :05:56.
the she pregnant and I am afraid we are going to see those pregnancies | :05:56. | :06:05.
coming through and to these abnormal births. That is already | :06:05. | :06:09.
happening and is done. It is now about trying to look forward to | :06:10. | :06:14.
understand which will be affected and trying to keep the insects away | :06:14. | :06:20.
from animals. That is difficult, as you can imagine. If a sheep, cow, | :06:20. | :06:24.
or deer has had one abnormal birth, does that mean they will have more | :06:24. | :06:29.
or is that the end of it? Based on what we know of a similar virus | :06:30. | :06:34.
which occurs in Australia and Japan, it seems once there has been an | :06:34. | :06:38.
outbreak of disease in a new area where the virus has not been | :06:38. | :06:43.
exposed before, it seems the animals develop a robust immunity | :06:43. | :06:47.
and they won't see a repeat. You will then just see occasional cases | :06:47. | :06:52.
in animals who are affected. Those in the early stages of pregnancy, | :06:52. | :06:57.
that seems to be the critical time. Once one land is affected in this | :06:57. | :07:03.
way, it seems they are strong immune for a while afterwards. | :07:03. | :07:07.
Seven men have been sentenced to a total of 24 years in jail for their | :07:07. | :07:10.
part in a major smuggling ring. 20 million fake cigarettes were | :07:10. | :07:13.
brought into the port of Felixstowe .they said the containers were full | :07:13. | :07:17.
of children's' toys. In 2000, one in five cigarettes smoked in the UK | :07:17. | :07:21.
was smuggled. In 2012, it's one in ten. Customs officers say they're | :07:21. | :07:29.
winning the fight against the smugglers. Undercover footage of | :07:29. | :07:33.
the smuggling gang at work. The cigarettes when fake but were | :07:33. | :07:43.
:07:43. | :07:44. | ||
manufactured in July and came through Felixstowe. One container | :07:44. | :07:49.
had a million cigarettes, a floor- to-ceiling, down as toys, but there | :07:49. | :07:55.
were no toys in the containers at all. Dust cigarettes. The gang has | :07:55. | :07:59.
hired warehouses to store the cigarettes, in Upminster, here. | :07:59. | :08:07.
They used a bigger, too. Seven men were handed sentences today between | :08:07. | :08:13.
two and 4 1/2 years, the man from Sudbury who organised the shipping | :08:13. | :08:22.
of the containers, and these two helped. Just before their arrest | :08:22. | :08:30.
25,000 was found in a garage. The court found that on a the computers | :08:30. | :08:35.
were packets of cigarettes being packed into containers, and in the | :08:35. | :08:39.
van newspaper articles about smuggling and sample papers for | :08:39. | :08:43.
cigarettes were found. They said this was a major smuggling | :08:43. | :08:47.
preparation, complex and sophisticated. Some of these things | :08:47. | :08:52.
are seen as a victimless crime, an opportunity for somebody to have a | :08:52. | :08:58.
bargain but it is not like that. It is a loss to the Revenue, to the | :08:58. | :09:05.
taxpayer, to ours, of 2 billion a year. Customs officers say illegal | :09:05. | :09:10.
cigarettes now make up 10 per cent of the total market. That is down | :09:10. | :09:15.
from 21 per cent in the year 2000. They say they have no intention of | :09:15. | :09:21.
slowing down in the stations. Still to come tonight: Alex with | :09:21. | :09:24.
the full weekend forecast and Mike Liggins with the tale of an | :09:24. | :09:32.
anniversary cruise and the Olympic Games. This is Maureen and Paul, | :09:32. | :09:36.
and Maureen's sister, Bridget. They were all going on a cruise in | :09:36. | :09:41.
August, but the ship they were going on is being used for the | :09:41. | :09:49.
Olympics. That story after the news from your part of the region. | :09:49. | :09:51.
Church of England has threatened legal action against protestors | :09:51. | :09:55.
camping in a churchyard in Southend. A letter has been sent to members | :09:55. | :10:03.
of the "Occupy Southend" group telling them to leave now. | :10:03. | :10:09.
started six days ago with a handful of tense, now there are two vendors, | :10:09. | :10:14.
portable toilets, and notices put up by the protesters. They warn | :10:14. | :10:18.
visitors to the churchyard they will commit a criminal act if they | :10:18. | :10:24.
stray into the protest area. The Church say the protesters must go | :10:25. | :10:30.
or face legal action. In a letter passed to the protesters, the vicar | :10:30. | :10:35.
of St Mary's, the Reverend, is clearly upset. He says the | :10:35. | :10:38.
occupation is unlawful and disrespectful, in appropriate for. | :10:38. | :10:46.
We did not invite you, this is holy ground. He says "please leave now." | :10:46. | :10:50.
the Church say they have been in contact with a woman whose funeral | :10:50. | :10:54.
is to this week and a bride-to-be, worried whether their services can | :10:54. | :11:00.
go ahead. It is wrong. Totally wrong. Unfair on the church and the | :11:00. | :11:05.
people locally. They are just passing, whatever their views. | :11:05. | :11:09.
think it is terrible, they should just clear off. They were not | :11:09. | :11:13.
invited and they should go. protesters would not be interviewed | :11:13. | :11:17.
and will meet tomorrow to consider the request to leave. The diocese | :11:17. | :11:21.
of Chelmsford say they are supporting the parish and legal | :11:21. | :11:24.
action is imminent. A former nanny with a painful and | :11:24. | :11:27.
disfiguring condition has been told that no treatment is routinely | :11:27. | :11:32.
available on her local NHS in Norfolk. If she lived across the | :11:32. | :11:35.
border in Suffolk she would get it automatically. She caught a virus | :11:35. | :11:38.
during a holiday two years ago which left her with swollen arms | :11:38. | :11:48.
:11:48. | :11:51. | ||
and legs. Maureen Johnson is desperate for treatment for a | :11:51. | :11:56.
condition finally diagnosed four months ago. Gone are the days that | :11:56. | :12:00.
she and her husband to part in 1940s re-enactments, she looks | :12:00. | :12:04.
after dozens of babies in young children during her Koreas, to whom | :12:04. | :12:10.
she was simply nanny. Now her conferences at rock bottom. When | :12:10. | :12:14.
she first went to hospital the specialist was brutal. They said I | :12:14. | :12:20.
had no fluid retention, I was dehydrated, just go home, you are a | :12:20. | :12:29.
big fat lump. I felt terribly upset. Terribly hurt. I came back from the | :12:29. | :12:36.
holiday, nearly four stone heavier. I just cannot get rid of it. These | :12:36. | :12:42.
horrible legs and arms, I have just swollen up. I feel like the | :12:42. | :12:48.
Michelin man. Her loving husband David discovered that bandaging | :12:48. | :12:53.
should be provided under the NHS, but not in law for, her GP | :12:53. | :12:57.
discovered. Research trials have not been able to prove it is | :12:57. | :13:01.
effective, in order to make the best use of the services we have, | :13:01. | :13:05.
we don't make it routinely available. We have yet to be | :13:05. | :13:08.
approached for an application for funding under exceptional | :13:09. | :13:15.
circumstances. She hates to look at herself. I think she sees it worse | :13:15. | :13:23.
than I do. I see her for who she is, not for her condition. But, apart | :13:23. | :13:31.
from that, I am sad for her. Very sad. All I want to do is to be able | :13:31. | :13:37.
to walk again. It is like trying to drag concrete around. It is | :13:37. | :13:43.
absolutely a nightmare. David says mooring cries frequently, they are | :13:43. | :13:50.
We heard about that story because Mr and Mrs Johnson contacted us. We | :13:50. | :13:53.
always want to hear your stories. You can phone, e-mail, or contact | :13:53. | :13:56.
us using Facebook. More than 60 jobs could go at the | :13:56. | :13:59.
James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, under plans to save 20 million | :13:59. | :14:04.
over the next two years. The Trust says it will try to redeploy staff. | :14:04. | :14:08.
The cuts will hit mainly administration and support workers. | :14:08. | :14:11.
Ipswich Hospital has asked visitors to stay away after an outbreak of | :14:11. | :14:15.
sickness and diarrhoea. The Trust says while the number of cases is | :14:15. | :14:18.
small, it has spread to all parts of the hospital. Two cases have | :14:18. | :14:22.
been confirmed as norovirus. They believe it was brought in from | :14:22. | :14:25.
outside. Work on making the final stretch of | :14:25. | :14:28.
the A11 in Suffolk into a dual carriageway is about to stop until | :14:28. | :14:32.
later this year. Work on building access roads and clearing some | :14:32. | :14:35.
trees started in October, but it has stopped now because the money | :14:35. | :14:45.
:14:45. | :14:46. | ||
has run out for this financial year. The construction of roads on the | :14:46. | :14:51.
Elveden estate in preparation for the new A11, been built to keep the | :14:51. | :14:56.
farm vehicles off. But the whole project is about to come to a | :14:56. | :15:00.
complete stop. We are bitterly disappointed, we expected the | :15:00. | :15:04.
project to be kicking off now and to be told that the work is | :15:04. | :15:08.
stalling, just a there. We thought they were going to get started, it | :15:08. | :15:13.
really is a blow. Defined this and now, we feel it puts doubt over the | :15:13. | :15:18.
whole project. This stretch is notorious for accidents and traffic | :15:18. | :15:22.
jams. The dualling of the remaining section of single carriageway | :15:22. | :15:27.
follows the existing road to the Elveden monument. It bypasses the | :15:27. | :15:34.
village with a new junction near Center Parcs. The supporting roads | :15:34. | :15:38.
were supposed to be completed by the end of next month. They are | :15:38. | :15:41.
behind schedule and the Highways Agency says it has run out of money | :15:41. | :15:46.
for this financial year. In a statement, the agency said, before | :15:46. | :15:51.
the work started in October last year, we always medic where we | :15:51. | :15:57.
would do as much work as possible by March. -- we almost -- we always | :15:57. | :16:00.
made it clear. Those living here hope the agency | :16:00. | :16:03.
will stay true to its word and get the project back on track later | :16:03. | :16:07.
this year. The Apache helicopter forced to | :16:07. | :16:10.
make an emergency landing in a field in Suffolk has been moved | :16:10. | :16:13.
back to its base at Wattisham Airfield. It flew into power lines | :16:13. | :16:17.
near Wherstead Woods on Tuesday evening. It is said to need minor | :16:17. | :16:19.
repairs. A group of workers who have | :16:19. | :16:21.
barricaded themselves into a French ski chalet are meeting their | :16:21. | :16:25.
employers this evening. Two men from Norfolk are among the seven, | :16:25. | :16:29.
who claim they worked for weeks without pay. Thousands are now | :16:29. | :16:32.
following their Facebook campaign. Their employers say they broke | :16:32. | :16:37.
company rules. Football, and Norwich City face | :16:37. | :16:40.
their toughest home match of the season on Sunday, when Manchester | :16:40. | :16:43.
United come to Carrow Road. The Canaries have only lost three games | :16:43. | :16:49.
at home all season. Carrow Road has played a massive | :16:49. | :16:54.
part in Norwich City's success over the past few seasons, the Canaries | :16:54. | :16:58.
finished their league One campaign as champions, losing just three | :16:58. | :17:03.
games in front of home fans. Last season saw a second-place finish in | :17:03. | :17:06.
the championship and more ticker- tape to clear up with only four | :17:06. | :17:10.
defeats. Few people predicted that Norwich City could continue that | :17:10. | :17:16.
kind of form in the Premier League, but four goals against Newcastle, | :17:16. | :17:19.
Manchester United could be the latest team to come here and lead | :17:19. | :17:24.
with no points. We're not going to be frightened, we will try and win. | :17:24. | :17:28.
But is the nature of the game. The players have done fantastic to get | :17:29. | :17:32.
their cells in this position. They are the ones that deserve the | :17:32. | :17:40.
credit. We will give it ago. Big- name managers and big-name players | :17:40. | :17:44.
have come to Carrow Road, looking to leave the spoils, but most have | :17:44. | :17:50.
left disappointed and without a full complement of points. We have | :17:50. | :17:53.
been used to success at Carrow Road. The results we have had, there has | :17:53. | :17:58.
been a lot more highs than there has lows. We have built of this | :17:58. | :18:00.
atmosphere at the home people turn up looking to get a result. More | :18:00. | :18:05.
often than not, they have got that. Last night, United made it through | :18:05. | :18:10.
to the last 16 of the Europa League despite a defeat at old Trafford by | :18:10. | :18:14.
Ajax. After a win over Norwich in Manchester, sir Alex said he was | :18:14. | :18:19.
impressed by the Canaries, but he will be anything but if they leave | :18:19. | :18:22.
for nothing on Sunday. In the Championship, Ipswich go to | :18:22. | :18:26.
Brighton. After beating Cardiff 3-0 last weekend, they are now 15 | :18:26. | :18:29.
points clear of the drop zone. A win tomorrow would make it five in | :18:29. | :18:39.
:18:39. | :18:40. | ||
a row. In 46 games, you will get what you deserve. If we are unlucky, | :18:40. | :18:47.
at Cardiff, our keeper was sent off last week, the best teams are | :18:47. | :18:49.
always the luckiest. The League One, Colchester United | :18:49. | :18:52.
are at home to Rochdale. And in League Two, Southend United could | :18:52. | :18:56.
drop out of the top three if they lose at Morecambe. Manager Paul | :18:56. | :18:59.
Sturrock is threatening to ring the changes after the 2-0 defeat at | :18:59. | :19:03.
Aldershot. After spending a large part of the season at the top, they | :19:03. | :19:08.
have won just twice in the last six games. Striker Jack Sampson is back | :19:08. | :19:18.
:19:18. | :19:18. | ||
in contention after recovering from You are watching Look East from the | :19:18. | :19:20.

In this region, seven magistrates' courts and five county courts have | :19:29. | :19:33.
closed in the past year, and there are claims that local justice has | :19:33. | :19:37.
been thrown into chaos. It is part of a major reorganisation of the | :19:38. | :19:42.
courts system, which the Government said had become unsustainable. But | :19:42. | :19:44.
as our home affairs correspondent Sally Chidzoy reports, some | :19:44. | :19:53.
magistrates believe it threatens our system of justice. | :19:53. | :19:56.
Alison when the motorist stands outside great German court after | :19:56. | :20:01.
being told by magistrates Amy tear up his case when he next appeared | :20:01. | :20:05.
before them. He failed to pay a parking ticket and faces a 70 | :20:05. | :20:11.
penalty charge. But at two hearings, interpreters failed to show up. | :20:11. | :20:14.
is a waste of public funds to keep travelling back and forth to court | :20:14. | :20:19.
on a fairly minor matter. It is costing a lot of money and it is | :20:19. | :20:24.
not worth it. Fair, open and effective local justice is a long- | :20:24. | :20:27.
held tradition in this country, but those who work within the system | :20:27. | :20:32.
have told the BBC they feel courts services are fast being eroded. | :20:32. | :20:35.
Spending cuts have forced the closure of several cuts and the | :20:35. | :20:39.
Government has imposed numerous changes on the system. The | :20:39. | :20:43.
solicitor is worried by the closure of magistrates' courts and says the | :20:43. | :20:45.
reduction in staffing and administration problems are causing | :20:45. | :20:52.
delays. I have clients on bail for significant periods of time, | :20:52. | :20:56.
reporting to police stations, subject to curfew, then you have | :20:56. | :21:02.
victims who themselves, having made reports to the police of crimes | :21:02. | :21:09.
against them, are not seen their cases being dealt with sometimes | :21:09. | :21:14.
for half a year or more. It is not hard to witness problems and the | :21:14. | :21:21.
systems, you just have to wait and Autumnwatch. Two cases at this | :21:21. | :21:24.
court, adjourned through lack of court time. A trial stopped for the | :21:24. | :21:28.
same reason. Two cases adjourned because they could not get | :21:28. | :21:32.
interpreters. One of those has been halted for a second time. And one | :21:32. | :21:35.
man left hanging around the court building for eight hours, waiting | :21:35. | :21:40.
for his case to be heard, he pleaded not guilty to theft, his | :21:40. | :21:45.
case adjourned. It is leading to a huge backlog of cases in the system. | :21:45. | :21:50.
Over 100 miles away at Harlow in Essex, the court pair will hold | :21:50. | :21:54.
trials only from April, it means all other cases will be held in | :21:54. | :21:58.
Chelmsford. Too many working in the courts, local justice is becoming | :21:58. | :22:04.
less local and more remote. Magistrates' Association did not | :22:04. | :22:10.
believe that cuts should go ahead at any price. At the end of the day, | :22:10. | :22:14.
cutting just to save money, but actually having a detrimental | :22:14. | :22:19.
affect on the community, the community we living and Lisa, we do | :22:19. | :22:23.
not believe this is the way to go. -- and Lisa. | :22:23. | :22:27.
You can see more on that story on the Sunday Politics, this Sunday at | :22:27. | :22:29.
midday. The Courts Service says it cannot justify keeping under- | :22:29. | :22:32.
utilised courts open, and there will be a full response to the | :22:32. | :22:35.
concerns we have just heard from the Justice Minister and Huntingdon | :22:35. | :22:38.
MP, Jonathan Djanogly. Now, when holidays get cancelled, | :22:38. | :22:41.
for whatever reason, it can be a terrible disappointment. So spare a | :22:41. | :22:45.
thought for two sisters from Norfolk. Their dream break in the | :22:45. | :22:49.
sun has been cancelled, because of the Olympics. Maureen, Bridget and | :22:49. | :22:52.
their husbands were looking forward to two weeks of luxury, soaking up | :22:52. | :22:57.
the sun and the sights, cruising the Mediterranean. But there is | :22:57. | :23:07.
:23:07. | :23:08. | ||
just one problem - their cruise liner is going to London instead. | :23:08. | :23:11.
Paul and more rain barrel are too self employed gardeners have -- and | :23:11. | :23:15.
this summer they will have been married for 25 years. Maureen's | :23:15. | :23:20.
sister is also celebrating the 40th wedding anniversary to Barry and | :23:20. | :23:25.
together, they had booked a two- week cruise on the Fred Olsen | :23:25. | :23:34.
cruise liner, the Braemar. But now, the sisters have discovered that | :23:34. | :23:39.
the trip is off. The Braemar is being moored in East London docks | :23:39. | :23:44.
to accommodate what Fred Olsen called key Olympic Games workers. | :23:44. | :23:48.
had a phone call from my brother- in-law to say, the holiday is | :23:48. | :23:53.
cancelled. And I said, stop winding me up! I nearly choked on my teeth. | :23:53. | :24:03.
:24:03. | :24:04. | ||
He says, it is true. Paul and Barry have bought dinner jackets, Maureen | :24:04. | :24:14.
:24:14. | :24:14. | ||
and Bridget what some posh frocks. I was gutted, absolutely gutted. | :24:14. | :24:23.
When you think about it, I have shocked and I was upset. I just | :24:23. | :24:26.
thought, my dream has been shattered in front of my eyes. | :24:27. | :24:30.
Olsen has told us it is always a very difficult decision to | :24:30. | :24:40.
:24:40. | :24:42. | ||
rearrange guests are possibly cruises. -- guests' cruises. | :24:42. | :24:48.
Mauri, Bridget and the boys could have looked forward to this kind of | :24:48. | :24:52.
entertainment, but not now. Fred Olsen have tried to do something | :24:52. | :24:56.
about their 80, pretty Hearts by offering an alternative holiday. | :24:56. | :25:00.
But Maureen and bridges were not keen, so instead of a cruise, it | :25:00. | :25:07.
might have to be Cromar instead. They provide a cake, they know the | :25:07. | :25:12.
way to his hard. way to his hard. | :25:12. | :25:16.
Cromer is very nice. The weather now. | :25:16. | :25:18.
After the mild temperatures yesterday, today felt a little bit | :25:18. | :25:25.
cooler. A little bit more cloud, but there has been so nice sunshine. | :25:25. | :25:30.
The main feature has been this area, a cold front, a fairly inactive one, | :25:30. | :25:36.
it has moved steadily southwards. It marks the boundary between mild | :25:36. | :25:41.
air had much cooler air. As it sinks southwards, it will introduce | :25:42. | :25:44.
cooler air over night tonight so temperatures will get quite a bit | :25:44. | :25:50.
colder. Clearing skies and light winds mean we could get a touch of | :25:50. | :25:54.
ground frost with temperatures falling as low as two Celsius. Into | :25:54. | :25:59.
the weekend, if you are hoping for the ball, it will be a dry weekend. | :25:59. | :26:04.
But in the sunshine, it should feel quite pleasant. A bright start for | :26:05. | :26:10.
the weekend tomorrow. Through the middle of the day, perhaps a little | :26:10. | :26:14.
bit more cloud developing at times. It will be mild for this time of | :26:14. | :26:23.
year. Average of 7.5 Celsius. We are expecting a high of 11 Celsius. | :26:23. | :26:27.
To the afternoon, for the spells of sunshine, a little more cloud | :26:27. | :26:32.
developing into the afternoon. It should clearly into the night time. | :26:32. | :26:37.
With clear skies and light winds, tomorrow night, we could see a | :26:37. | :26:42.
widespread frost. On Monday, we have some weather fronts, that | :26:43. | :26:46.
means particularly for the east of the region, we could see a cloudy | :26:46. | :26:50.
start with patchy rain first thing. Then later, another fund, a warm | :26:50. | :26:55.
one which will bring patchy rain. But probably only the West of the | :26:55. | :26:59.
region. It will introduce some milder air behind it. Temperatures | :26:59. | :27:04.
will start to get mild once more into the beginning of next week. | :27:04. | :27:08.
Dry and fine for the weekend, temperatures peaking at about 11 | :27:08. | :27:12.
Celsius. It is Sunday night that we could get some patchy rain. It | :27:12. | :27:17.
might take a while to clear. The bulk of the middle of the day dry, | :27:17. | :27:21.
then that weather front comes through, been patchy rain for the | :27:21. | :27:24.
west of the region, introducing milder temperatures which you will | :27:24. | :27:29. |
