The first hosepipe ban in 20 years for much of the region. The details | :00:06. | :00:12.
on how it will affect you. Hello and welcome to the programme. Also | :00:12. | :00:16.
tonight: An explosion rips apart this house in the Fens. The reason? | :00:16. | :00:24.
Metal thieves. Ruddy saves the day and salvages a point for Norwich. | :00:24. | :00:27.
And the struggle to get on the housing ladder. We have one | :00:27. | :00:37.
:00:37. | :00:43. | ||
Hello. First tonight, after months of speculation it's official. A | :00:43. | :00:46.
hosepipe ban will kick in across large parts of the East from April | :00:46. | :00:51.
5th. So who will be affected? Basically customers who are | :00:51. | :00:55.
supplied by the big two. Anglian Water, which stretches from | :00:55. | :00:59.
Northamptonshire in the West to the coast of Norfolk in the East. And | :00:59. | :01:01.
Veolia Central, the old Three Valleys Water, which covers a large | :01:01. | :01:06.
part of West Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. At the moment | :01:06. | :01:09.
Cambridge Water, Essex and Suffolk and Veolia East have stopped short | :01:09. | :01:12.
of an outright ban, but they are urging customers to limit the water | :01:12. | :01:22.
:01:22. | :01:27. | ||
they use. Nikki Jenkins reports now from Grafham Water. Under grey, but | :01:27. | :01:32.
dry skies, Grafham Water looks deaccept tifrly full and it is. | :01:32. | :01:36.
are about 69% full. But our aim is to use this resource and make sure | :01:36. | :01:41.
we can use it across the region. We're going to move more water from | :01:41. | :01:48.
here to other areas. Other reservoirs are well down and | :01:48. | :01:52.
Anglian will need to pump treated water from here to Northampton and | :01:53. | :01:58.
Milton Keynes. Today the environment minister praised the | :01:58. | :02:03.
east for being well prepared. drainage boards have filled up | :02:03. | :02:07.
their dykes with water and for this time of year, they're unusually | :02:07. | :02:11.
high. That is part of making sure we build resilience in this dry | :02:12. | :02:17.
part of the country. Over the last two years the region has had 35 | :02:17. | :02:23.
centimetres less rain than normal. Last month saw only a third of the | :02:23. | :02:27.
expected rain. But what you see is not the full story. It what is is | :02:27. | :02:32.
happening under the ground that is happening and ground water levels | :02:32. | :02:37.
at near historic lows. Forget 76, the region is drier than at any | :02:38. | :02:46.
time since 1921 and this will be the first house pipe ban in 0 years. | :02:46. | :02:52.
Veolia will introduce its ban on 5th April. It won't be April. We | :02:53. | :02:57.
may introduce them in May or June, depending on how wet March and | :02:57. | :03:02.
April is. Until then we won't know where we stand. The last hosepipe | :03:02. | :03:08.
ban was in place for more than a year. No one know how long it will | :03:08. | :03:13.
take levels to recover this time. Peter Simpson is the Managing | :03:13. | :03:18.
Director of Anglian Water. He's at Grafham now. I thought you were | :03:18. | :03:21.
hopeful you could get through summer without a ban. So why are | :03:21. | :03:25.
you doing it? Well it is important that we react to the fact that we | :03:25. | :03:30.
have had two very dry winters. What we're focused on is that we may | :03:30. | :03:34.
have a third dry winter and we need to make sure we do everything we | :03:34. | :03:39.
can this period now to ensure we have water supplies for next summer. | :03:39. | :03:44.
The last time we spoke, you said you were selling 13% of your water. | :03:44. | :03:49.
So shouldn't you stop doing that before you impose a ban? Well there | :03:49. | :03:53.
is a lot of co-operation between water companies. We're identifying | :03:53. | :03:57.
opportunities to bring water into the region from our neighbours in | :03:57. | :04:01.
Severn Trent and one scheme that we're looking it to bring water | :04:01. | :04:07.
from Yorkshire into the area to reduce the amount of water we | :04:07. | :04:12.
export. So we're maximising the use of the interconnectivety is an | :04:12. | :04:16.
important opportunity and we will look at that to think about the | :04:16. | :04:20.
impact on next summer. How come some companies are not introducing | :04:20. | :04:27.
a ban and some are? Well as you probably can't see, because it is | :04:27. | :04:31.
dark here, but Grafham is full and you could see customer here are | :04:31. | :04:36.
fine. But what we're doing is transferring water from full | :04:36. | :04:41.
reservoirs to areas which are under more stress. So the reality is | :04:41. | :04:45.
different parts are affected differently. We're trying to Ba | :04:45. | :04:49.
thrans resource across the entire area. The last time we had a ban, I | :04:49. | :04:53.
remember the companies put up a helicopter, a spy in the sky, how | :04:53. | :04:59.
will you police it. Will you have a helicopter? A ban is trying to send | :04:59. | :05:06.
a signal to customer that we want them to take their part of this and | :05:06. | :05:12.
be efficient. We're driving our leakage levers low and the hosepipe | :05:12. | :05:18.
ban is a signal. It would be impossible to police every single | :05:18. | :05:21.
person. What we're expecting people is to apply common-sense and just | :05:21. | :05:26.
think about how they are using their water. We had some heavy rain | :05:26. | :05:31.
last week. We had a month's worth in a day. If we got that again | :05:31. | :05:38.
would you still have the ban? The reality is we're coming to the | :05:38. | :05:42.
end of the recharge season now. So a lot of rain that falls in the | :05:42. | :05:47.
summer won't make that much difference to the surface or ground | :05:47. | :05:52.
waters. Once we're at the end of the recharge season the rain has | :05:52. | :05:55.
much less impact than between October and March. And the message | :05:55. | :06:00.
from you is don't use it, or you will lose it. Thank you for being | :06:00. | :06:05.
with us. How will the hosepipe ban affect you? We'd love to hear your | :06:05. | :06:09.
thoughts and stories. You can get in touch by phone, e-mail, or via | :06:09. | :06:12.
the Look East Facebook page. A manhunt is underway in Milton | :06:12. | :06:15.
Keynes after a woman was abducted and raped. She got into what she | :06:15. | :06:18.
thought was a taxi early on Saturday morning. The driver then | :06:18. | :06:25.
took her to an industrial estate where the attack happened. It | :06:25. | :06:29.
should have been a normal Friday night out. But it ended with a | :06:29. | :06:33.
woman saying she'd been raped. The woman had been out for a night in | :06:34. | :06:40.
Milton Keynes. Most of the town's pub and clubs are based or around | :06:40. | :06:46.
this building. She was looking for a taxi home and made her way to the | :06:46. | :06:50.
estate and put out her hand and a car stopped. Because she thought it | :06:50. | :06:58.
was a taxi she got in. But some time later, the a -- the driver | :06:58. | :07:03.
attack here. In 2004 a came bripbt student was murdered after getting | :07:03. | :07:09.
into a car with its driver saying he was a taxy. And then a man | :07:09. | :07:14.
picked up a woman at Bedford station and said he was the cab she | :07:14. | :07:18.
was waited for before assaulting her. If I was going out and got a | :07:18. | :07:24.
taxi, I would rather go to a taxi rank or get a black taxi, than get | :07:24. | :07:28.
in a random car that may say something. But life shouldn't be | :07:28. | :07:35.
like that. It does put me off. Now I'm driving, I don't like to go out | :07:35. | :07:42.
and drive. But I would. If I had to get a taxi on my own, I would stay | :07:42. | :07:49.
on the phone. But you need to be safe. Ask the taxi driver for | :07:49. | :07:53.
identification. They should be, it should be on display. There should | :07:53. | :07:59.
be a photograph of the driver, his number will be there and his name. | :07:59. | :08:04.
And they won't mind giving it over? Absolutely. What have they got to | :08:04. | :08:08.
hide? The police say women shouldn't be alarmed, but advise | :08:08. | :08:12.
them to be vigilant. While the information is in its early stages, | :08:12. | :08:17.
they're appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Metal | :08:18. | :08:20.
thieves are being blamed for an explosion which destroyed a | :08:20. | :08:24.
bungalow in Cambridgeshire. It's believed a gas pipe had been torn | :08:24. | :08:28.
out. Experts warn such thefts are becoming more common. And it's only | :08:28. | :08:35.
a matter of time before someone is killed. The police say it was sheer | :08:35. | :08:41.
luck that no one died or was seriously injured. Bung alow | :08:41. | :08:46.
reduced to rubble in the explosion. I was woken at 1am with a loud bang | :08:46. | :08:50.
and then we saw blue lights. Ran to the front of the house and the | :08:50. | :08:55.
whole place was in flames. It is lucky it went off at 1 o'clock in | :08:55. | :08:58.
the morning, not 8 o'clock. People would have been injured. Neighbours | :08:58. | :09:05.
went to help the couple who live in the adjoining bung alow. | :09:05. | :09:09.
Firefighters managed to stop the flames, but their home has been | :09:09. | :09:16.
damaged. This explosion, well it was awful and he came out and said, | :09:16. | :09:21.
quick, the room is falling to bits. It's all gone into my bed ram. | :09:21. | :09:26.
I caught fire, I thought we ought to get out. It was so frightening. | :09:26. | :09:30.
The house is owned by a housing association and had been empty for | :09:30. | :09:33.
system time and was being renovated the police have said that copper | :09:33. | :09:37.
pipes had been reported stolen from the house. They and fire | :09:37. | :09:45.
investigators are assuming a gas pipe was damaged or removed. It is | :09:45. | :09:48.
becoming an issue in the area. People that are doing these thefts | :09:48. | :09:51.
have got no consideration for the damage they're going to leave | :09:51. | :09:57.
behind and in this case, fortunately it didn't result in | :09:57. | :10:03.
serious injury. I thought it was a bomb. But it was scary. It was | :10:03. | :10:09.
scary. An investigation is now underway into the explosion. Later | :10:09. | :10:13.
in the programme: All the football from the weekend and the struggle | :10:13. | :10:23.
:10:23. | :10:25. | ||
to get on the housing ladder - one BT has apologised to about 200 | :10:25. | :10:28.
people in Suffolk who have been getting phone calls for other | :10:28. | :10:31.
people, but none for themselves. The trouble started in an | :10:31. | :10:33.
underground cable after the heavy rain last week. Debbie Tubby has | :10:33. | :10:37.
been to Oulton Broad to meet some of the people living with a | :10:37. | :10:47.
:10:47. | :10:47. | ||
permanently crossed line. Hello? I can ring out on my phone. But I | :10:48. | :10:53.
can't sech calls. Stephen relies on his phone for his plumbing business. | :10:53. | :10:58.
He can dial out and receive calls, but they're not his. They're | :10:58. | :11:02.
someone else's. We have got several wrong number and we thought it was | :11:02. | :11:07.
fun y and talked to other people and realised several people were | :11:07. | :11:13.
affected. So everyone had the wrong number. Stephen uses his land line | :11:13. | :11:19.
to phone his own mobile phone. And it is not his telephone number. It | :11:19. | :11:27.
is David's, who lives two streets away. I get a beep and that is it.? | :11:27. | :11:34.
His daughter har has tried to phone from Canada. We didn't receive | :11:34. | :11:39.
anything, but Stephen across the road, he did receive all our | :11:39. | :11:47.
recorded messages. And he Pazed them on to us. The fault was caused | :11:47. | :11:51.
by water getting into an underground cable. In a statement, | :11:51. | :11:57.
BT said it apologises and they are trying to refair fault, which does | :11:57. | :12:06.
include crossed lines. -- repair the fault. They are keen to get the | :12:06. | :12:11.
problem fixed. Three cannabis growing operations in Essex have | :12:11. | :12:15.
been shut down following dawn raids. A farm at Woodham Mortimer near | :12:15. | :12:19.
Maldon was one of four addresses raided by the police. They also | :12:19. | :12:22.
targeted an industrial unit and two homes. A 50-year-old man has been | :12:22. | :12:28.
arrested. A man has been charged after two mobile phones were thrown | :12:28. | :12:31.
into the grounds of Chelmsford Prison. The police have been aware | :12:31. | :12:34.
of an on going problem of items being thrown to inmates from | :12:34. | :12:37.
neighbouring streets. The 49-year- old from Romford is due in court | :12:37. | :12:42.
next week. A former council tip near Ipswich has been closed, | :12:42. | :12:45.
because not enough people were prepared to pay to dump their | :12:45. | :12:48.
rubbish. A private company took over the site at Bramford six | :12:48. | :12:51.
months ago, but despite introducing a charge, managers say they | :12:51. | :13:01.
:13:01. | :13:03. | ||
couldn't make it pay. Gaye was one of the last people to use the | :13:03. | :13:09.
centre and paid 6 to get rid of some guaranteed rubbish. But not | :13:09. | :13:12.
enough did the same. The company who took over the site from the | :13:12. | :13:18.
council was losing 3,000 a month and has said enough is enough. | :13:18. | :13:23.
make the money on the valuable recyclables and don't cover the | :13:23. | :13:28.
cost now. So we have had to call a day on it. It is a six month trial | :13:28. | :13:33.
that we did with the local parish and we wanted to provide the | :13:33. | :13:39.
service and it didn't work out. ford's problem was a council tip in | :13:39. | :13:45.
Ipswich doesn't charge. Won't you pay? Not 6 for lilt amount I have | :13:45. | :13:50.
got. But hole elors are unhappy that the experiment didn't work and | :13:50. | :13:57.
they have to travel and queue at other sites. The council was wrong. | :13:57. | :14:04.
I feel so. We fought that case and we fought long and hard and | :14:04. | :14:10.
basically couldn't make the point. But I believe the council's wrong. | :14:10. | :14:13.
Suffolk County Council said a charity run site in Newmarket and | :14:13. | :14:18.
this private centre are profitable. It says it is committed to | :14:18. | :14:24.
providing the right solution for each area. The veteran singer Sir | :14:24. | :14:26.
Tom Jones is to stage another concert at Newmarket racecourse | :14:26. | :14:29.
this year. The 71-year-old's star appearance there last summer was a | :14:29. | :14:33.
sell out. Now he's been booked for a second open air concert on August | :14:33. | :14:41.
10th. Sport now and Tom Williams is here with all the football and a | :14:41. | :14:44.
little bit of athletics. Norwich City are edging closer to safety in | :14:44. | :14:49.
the Premier League. They drew 1-1 draw with Wigan yesterday, | :14:49. | :14:52.
surrendering an advantage. But they're up to 12th with a 14-point | :14:52. | :14:55.
cushion over the bottom three. Ten games to go. The manager says he | :14:55. | :15:03.
games to go. The manager says he won't relax until they're safe. A | :15:03. | :15:09.
win for Norwich would have moved them into the top eight and three | :15:09. | :15:14.
points closer to safety and with Wigan's dismal record, they were | :15:14. | :15:24.
expecting big fans. Within ten minutes Norwich led 1-0. Hoolahan | :15:24. | :15:31.
scoring. Wigan have struggled Tor score this season, but Moses fuend | :15:31. | :15:37.
Rodallega who could only find the keeper. Norwich had a shout for a | :15:37. | :15:43.
penalty, but ball to hand said the referee. In the second half, Holt | :15:43. | :15:48.
caused problems, but couldn't score. Wigan came to life, only Ruddy | :15:48. | :15:54.
keeping Norwich on terms. But Moses used his pace to cut through the | :15:54. | :16:01.
defence and round Ruddy. At 1-1, both sides could have won. But the | :16:01. | :16:10.
Norwich No 1 perform well. Neither side could win it. Wigan are a good | :16:10. | :16:14.
side and I knew it would be one of the hardest games of season. | :16:14. | :16:18.
Everyone would expect us to win. But if you can't win a game, make | :16:18. | :16:22.
sure you don't lose it. We may have won it at the death. The keeper | :16:22. | :16:28.
made some great saves, but we're on 36 points and have done very well. | :16:28. | :16:31.
In the Championship, Paul Jewell felt the pitch at the KC Stadium | :16:31. | :16:35.
was abysmal so a point wasn't a bad return. Especially as Hull went 2-0 | :16:35. | :16:38.
up on Saturday. Robbie Brady's deflected shot put them ahead. | :16:38. | :16:42.
Robert Koren doubled the lead. But the game changed on a penalty. A | :16:42. | :16:46.
foul on Tommy Smith. Grant Leadbitter scored. And the goal of | :16:46. | :16:56.
the game came from Leadbitter three minutes later. 2-2. He struck it | :16:56. | :17:01.
well, the keep we are will be disappointed, but it was a good | :17:01. | :17:06.
strike and even taking the penalty, showed he has bottle and I thought | :17:06. | :17:16.
second half we were the better team. Just one defeat in eight for | :17:16. | :17:19.
Colchester in League One, but a goalless draw at Wycombe didn't | :17:19. | :17:22.
help their play-off push. Steven Gillespie had the best chance. The | :17:22. | :17:24.
U's are eight points off the top six. Southend, who've today | :17:24. | :17:27.
extended Jack Sampson's loan, are clinging on to their automatic | :17:27. | :17:30.
promotion spot - just. But the manager said their 2-2 draw felt | :17:30. | :17:33.
like a defeat. Accrington ahead. Luke Prosser and Elliot Benyon put | :17:33. | :17:36.
the Blues 2-1 up before Accrington, who had a man sent off, equalised | :17:36. | :17:42.
in the last minute. Southend are third. At the World Indoor | :17:42. | :17:45.
Athletics Championships, Andrew Osagie from Harlow won bronze in | :17:45. | :17:49.
the men's 800 metres. Great finish, stealing third on the line. Robbie | :17:49. | :17:51.
Grabarz from Cambridgeshire came sixth in the high jump. His | :17:51. | :17:54.
clearance of 2.31 metres just two centimetres short of the winning | :17:54. | :18:01.
jump. And on Late Kick Off tonight, the team will take a closer look at | :18:01. | :18:03.
some of the off-the-pitch issues affecting our footballers. Ipswich | :18:03. | :18:05.
and Southend have certainly had quite public disciplinary problems | :18:05. | :18:15.
:18:15. | :18:17. | ||
this season. You put 16 men toogt in a hotel, over night, they're | :18:17. | :18:19.
in a hotel, over night, they're children. And I don't care whether | :18:19. | :18:25.
it was in my day or today. When you get to the bottom leagues, if | :18:25. | :18:31.
they're still on 3,000 pound a week. That is a lot of money to control. | :18:31. | :18:41.
:18:41. | :18:43. | ||
More on that in Late Kick Off Next tonight the government's | :18:43. | :18:46.
latest efforts to kick-start the housing market. But will they work | :18:46. | :18:50.
here in the east? There is no doubt we've got a problem in this region. | :18:50. | :18:54.
Last year 5,000 new people were accepted as being homeless. That's | :18:54. | :18:57.
an increase of more than a quarter on the previous year. The number of | :18:57. | :19:00.
families waiting for social housing is now 160,000 - up 69% over the | :19:00. | :19:06.
last 10 years. And the Home Builders Federation claims we need | :19:06. | :19:10.
to build 32,000 homes every year for the next 20 years to meet | :19:10. | :19:13.
demand. At the moment we're building fewer than half that | :19:13. | :19:19.
number. In a moment, the couple struggling to get on the housing | :19:19. | :19:21.
ladder. But first this from our Political Correspondent, Andrew | :19:21. | :19:31.
:19:31. | :19:34. | ||
Sinclair. This Rose Wood Park, they are building 248 new homes here, | :19:34. | :19:39.
most for the private market. A handful will be low cost housing. | :19:39. | :19:43.
So great is the demand they expect them all to be occupied by the | :19:43. | :19:48.
summer. But the industry said this is not enough. With we don't build | :19:48. | :19:51.
more homes the problems will get worse and the social housing | :19:51. | :19:56.
waiting list will get longer, the average price of housing will go up | :19:56. | :20:03.
and it will be difficult for first time buyers. Say they the biggest | :20:03. | :20:09.
need is in Colchester and Bedfordshire. But nearly every part | :20:09. | :20:14.
isn't building enough homes. People stay at home with their parents | :20:14. | :20:18.
longer and live on friends' sofa and we're seeing street | :20:18. | :20:22.
homelessness come back. That is a sign that the system is cracking. | :20:22. | :20:27.
Cathy and Daryl have moved into their new home after three years on | :20:27. | :20:34.
the council waiting list. weren't being picky where we went, | :20:34. | :20:38.
but every where we bidded only there was people in front of us and | :20:38. | :20:44.
it was a constant frustration. Government does want to see more | :20:44. | :20:48.
homes built. Today the Prime Minister launched a scheme that | :20:48. | :20:52.
will underwrite first time mortgages and he is giving money to | :20:52. | :20:56.
councils who build new homes and changing the planning laws. But | :20:56. | :21:01.
some worry it will lead to more building in the countryside. | :21:01. | :21:07.
don't dispute the fi,, was -- - but it -- we don't dispute the figures, | :21:07. | :21:12.
but it is important we build in the right places. We need it for health | :21:12. | :21:17.
and well being of people and so it is important, because when it's | :21:17. | :21:22.
gone, it's gone. The Government said it is committed to sustainable | :21:22. | :21:32.
:21:32. | :21:33. | ||
development, but says there is a need for more homes. For many of | :21:33. | :21:39.
those would be first time buyers, it is the size of the deposit that | :21:39. | :21:45.
is the obstacle. 20% can translate into thousands. Today a new | :21:45. | :21:49.
guarantee scheme was launch Tods kick start the market. The idea | :21:49. | :21:53.
comes from the Government and it is backed by the industry. Under the | :21:53. | :22:00.
scheme some people can get a 95% mork. At e- mortgage. At this | :22:00. | :22:04.
restaurants they pride themselves on using good local row deuce. The | :22:04. | :22:09.
chef is at the sharp end of another local phenomenon, high property | :22:09. | :22:14.
prices. At 32, he has been living with his parents for three years, | :22:14. | :22:19.
attempting to save up for a leap on to the properties ladder. Now Steve | :22:19. | :22:25.
and his his girlfriend, law a ra, working at a hotel, but study to be | :22:25. | :22:31.
a archaeologist, are moving in to a new flat. Their joint income is | :22:31. | :22:37.
around 40,000 a year, but they having to rent. With renting, you | :22:37. | :22:44.
make -- can't make the house the home you need F you buy it, you can | :22:44. | :22:48.
do it like you want. Renting, it is not your home and you don't feel | :22:48. | :22:52.
that sense of satisfaction, until the day where we hopefully will | :22:52. | :22:57.
purchase a house in the future. What about this scheme, what do you | :22:57. | :23:01.
think of that It sounds like a great idea. If we had to put only | :23:01. | :23:06.
5% on a depoz sits on the flat we're going to move into, that | :23:06. | :23:14.
would be great news and would take us probably half the amount of time. | :23:14. | :23:20.
The scheme aims to help 100,000 people buy a new build home. It | :23:20. | :23:28.
will target home movers and first time buyers. At one estate agent | :23:28. | :23:33.
buy-to-let business has been brisk, but the high deposit demands have | :23:33. | :23:38.
hit hard. It has caused hardship for first and second time buyers. | :23:38. | :23:42.
First time buyers are finding it difficult. As always with such | :23:42. | :23:47.
schemes, the devil may be in the detail. But with the average age of | :23:47. | :23:51.
first time buyers approaching 37 the Government says the scheme is | :23:51. | :23:58.
just what the market needs. And we'll have more on housing on | :23:58. | :24:02.
tomorrow night's programme. If we need thousands more houses, where | :24:02. | :24:05.
are they all going to go? Another subject where we'd welcome your | :24:05. | :24:15.
:24:15. | :24:16. | ||
stories. If you contact us, please don't Fer get to leave a telephone | :24:16. | :24:22.
number. Now the weather. -- don't number. Now the weather. -- don't | :24:22. | :24:28.
forget. Well going back to our lead story on the drought. There is no | :24:28. | :24:31.
sign of any rain and the dry conditions will continue through | :24:31. | :24:36.
the week. We have a large area of high pressure that is sitting right | :24:36. | :24:40.
over the UK. It is having the effect of blocking these weather | :24:40. | :24:44.
systems from bringing us any rain and setting us into a holding | :24:44. | :24:49.
pattern of weather. We will see that the conditions will be quite | :24:49. | :24:55.
similar. It is bringing light winds and that has broughted sunshine and | :24:55. | :24:59.
brightness, without the wind to mix the air up and we have found the | :24:59. | :25:04.
foggy conditions from first thing that lifted into low level cloud | :25:04. | :25:09.
and meant skies were overcast for much of the day. Those misty | :25:09. | :25:15.
condition will return again tonight. Widespread across the region. But | :25:15. | :25:19.
temperatures not too low. Tonight the winds will stay light and be | :25:19. | :25:25.
variable in direction. But in term of our values, perhaps a low of | :25:25. | :25:33.
four drug. -- four Celsius. Once more it will be a misty start | :25:33. | :25:38.
tomorrow. A lot of cloud around and the jury's out on how much that | :25:38. | :25:43.
cloud is going to thin and break. Where we find that cloud stays | :25:43. | :25:47.
thick through the day, temperatures will probably not get higher than | :25:47. | :25:52.
single first. So perhaps a high of seven for those areas. Where we get | :25:52. | :25:59.
a break we could find temperatures up to 12 Celsius. That is 54 | :25:59. | :26:02.
Fahrenheit and again light and variable winds. And through the | :26:02. | :26:06.
afternoon it will stay dry, perhaps some breaks in the cloud and | :26:06. | :26:10.
perhaps a bit of brightness and sunshine. So lacking ahead to the | :26:10. | :26:14.
rest of the week. For Thursday the high pressure repositions itself | :26:14. | :26:20.
and by Thursday it is much further to the east and it moves south and | :26:20. | :26:24.
that may draw in some drier air and the better chance of breaking up | :26:24. | :26:29.
the cloud and seeing some sunshine. On Friday, the high pressure moves | :26:29. | :26:34.
well away and these systems cowl in from the west and start to try and | :26:34. | :26:39.
bring us some wet weather. But they look pretty weak and it is going to | :26:39. | :26:45.
turn things cloudy. So the next five days are dry, a mild one, | :26:45. | :26:49.
where we keep the cloudy conditions, it may be chilly. But with the | :26:49. | :26:53.
sunshine it doesn't take much to warm thing up and get the | :26:53. | :26:58.
temperatures up to perhaps 16 Celsius. So light winds, and lows | :26:58. | :27:03. |
