Good evening. Conservative MP Peter Bone has strongly denied allegations

that he's committed fraud. The Northamptonshire MP says he and his

wife Jennie are "totally innocent" of the claims which relate to the

care of his elderly mother in law. Mr Bone, who's been the MP for

Wellingborough since 2005, says he's been living a "surreal nightmare"

since a police raid on his home last year. Mike Cartwright reports.

Questions over allegations of fraud, and NP waiting to hear if he will

face prosecution. Peter Bowes says he's innocent. The allegations are

surreal nightmare, he says. The council contacted police after fears

they had been misled over the finances of Peter Bowden pot`macro

mother`in`law. The authority had been partly paid for by the venture

care, then allegations the family had sufficient funds themselves

including money from the sale of the 81`year`old's home. Peter Bowman

said the issue is simple... I know the answer, he said. Outside

his constituency office some thought the story could be damaging. MPs are

not known for being honest people. It would not surprise me. He says

he's innocent. He might be. It isn't very good. The dispute began in 2009

after a failure to fund his mother`in`law pot`macro care. In

2013, his home was raided by police, personal papers and documents were

taken. The next month, the MP and his wife what questioned by

officers. Peter Bowden says his belief in the police has been

shattered. Today, they confirmed a 61`year`old man had been formally

interviewed. The county council says lawyers advised them not to comment.

Allegations have made the front pages. Peter bone wondered if the

story was leaked to the press by the police.

Plans have been unveiled for more homes and businesses in this region

to get superfast broadband. The Government is to boost its funding

for the project with more than 14 million being invested here. So who

will benefit? Waseem Mirza has the details.

The roll out of superfast broadband is well underway but today the

Government has pledged even more funding to help areas which it says

are hardest to reach and stand to benefit the most. Homes and

businesses here will get more than ?14 million towards faster broadband

projects. Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire will receive the

largest share of the pot. More than ?3.6 million for Northamptonshire

with slightly less for projects in Central Bedfordshire, Bedford

Borough, Milton Keynes and Luton. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will

receive just under one million pounds. So why is this important?

For many small and medium sized businesses better broadband could

mean the difference between more productivity and new jobs or put

their survival at risk. Destination Digital is a scheme that gives

grants to businesses in Cambridgeshire to help bridge that

divide. If we didn't get this right there are other places in the world

like Korea and China and India and Brazil who are investing in this

technology and we cannot afford to be left behind.

But is time running out? The Government says it's aiming for 95%

of the country to get superfast speeds by 2017.

The girlfriend of a man who drowned while searching for a missing

teenager has described how she desperately tried to save him before

he Disappeared under the water. Ryan Pettengell from King's Lynn and

16`year`old Umar Balogun both drowned at Bawsey Pitts on the same

day in what a coroner has described as a "tragic coincidence". This

afternoon a jury returned a verdict of accidental death on Mr

Pettengell. His mother and family arriving at

being questioned. He drowned on the same day at the same pits as the

teenager he was looking for. Not knowing when he jumped in the water

the body had already been found He is the sort of guy who if someone

was in trouble he would have gone out of his way to help them out The

PC said he was there when Brian died, he could not help because he

wasn't a competence woman. Before he died, you asked if he had seen a

16`year`old, his girlfriend said she could see something on the island

she had Swansea. Despite breaking his wrist before, he said he would

swim over. She told him don't bother, don't come because you will

not make it. He got halfway across and shouted, get me a stick. She

said she did but it would not float. He grabbed her shoulder, she

went underwater and she swallowed water and was sick. She said she

went back to the islands to get another stick and when she turned

around or she could see was the bubbles where he had been. Shortly

after the drownings, these photographs were revealed showing

Before the family left the inquest, his mother said no swimming signs

should also point out the dangers under the surface. She said it would

give those something else to think about.

In football there were three games tonight with important consequences

at the top and bottom of the tables. In League One, Stevenage, who are

bottom, won against Crewe. MK Dons faint play`off hopes were boosted at

Oldham where they won 2`1. Meanwhile in League Two, bottom club

Northampton won 2`1 against Southend at Sixfields. And of course there'll
