A service of remembrance has been held in Hull city centre to mark

the official installation of the latest piece of art

The Weeping Window is made up of ceramic poppies and has been

brought to Hull as part of the city of culture celebrations.

It's already attracted a large number of visitors and it's hoped

that it will be as popular as the Blade.

In Hull city centre, a mass of ceramic poppies

cascade down the front of the maritime museum.

Each one represents a life lost in the First World War.

The Weeping Window was originally part of a larger installation

It's been touring the country and has now come to Hull as part

it is still surreal that people have taken to it so well after all this

time so it is really nice and it flew -- new location to see how

different it is. It is basically the same structure and design but it is

different in each location because it is unique.

When the poppies came to Lincoln Castle last year,

they attracted more than half a million visitors.

And they're already beginning to drawn large crowds in Hull too.

It is a good thing, it allows you time to reflect on things that have

gone on in the world. It gets to me. It is really amazing, this puppy

tribute to all the servicemen. It is really impressive. I am glad to help

of the sculpture, veterans held a service of remembrance

The poppies also mark the centenary of the Battle of Oppy Wood,

when the Hull Pals battalions lost more men than casualties

Good evening. It has been a gorgeous day today. It would lead to clear

skies tonight. We could see a few patches of mist and fog and maybe

some low cloud towards dawn. Temperatures will drop enough for a

touch of frost but it will not be as widespread as last night. We start

tomorrow on a chilly note, bit of mist and fog and low cloud but it

will lift and there will be plenty of sunshine, a gorgeous day for

Mother's Day. Nothing that will release all the sunshine, highs of

13 or 14 Celsius and don't forget, clocks go forward by an hour, so we

lose an hour tonight into Sunday. Remember to change them. Thank you.
