Welcome to Monday's Look North. In tonight's headlines. An inquest | :00:05. | :00:08.
jury hears how police found notes threatening suicide and a noose at | :00:08. | :00:11.
the home of the gunman Raoul Moat. The policeman shot by Moat | :00:11. | :00:15.
announces he's leaving his family home to help his rehabilitation. | :00:15. | :00:18.
Also tonight - revamp row, a public meeting over the Duke's grand plan | :00:18. | :00:27.
for a Northumberland town. I think it's a load of rubbish. Why? What's | :00:27. | :00:33.
wrong with Prudhoe? What's wrong with it? | :00:33. | :00:36.
And in at the deep end. We join the sailing crews at a Tyneside college, | :00:36. | :00:40.
training for the trip of a lifetime. In sport, we look back at a big | :00:40. | :00:43.
weekend of cricket - the good, the bad and the washout! | :00:43. | :00:45.
And living the dream - the Northumberland referee off to | :00:45. | :00:55.
:00:55. | :01:04. | ||
It is the one part of the story we don't yet know - exactly what | :01:04. | :01:07.
happened between the police and Raoul Moat when the gunman was | :01:07. | :01:10.
cornered after his shooting spree. Today, an inquest opened into | :01:10. | :01:13.
Moat's death. Over the next four weeks, it should fill in those gaps. | :01:14. | :01:16.
Moat shot and injured his former girlfriend, Samantha Stobbart, and | :01:16. | :01:19.
shot dead her new boyfriend, Christopher Brown. He also shot and | :01:19. | :01:21.
blinded PC David Rathband. Our Chief Reporter, Chris Stewart, has | :01:21. | :01:31.
:01:31. | :01:34. | ||
been at the inquest for us. Chris, what have we heard today? | :01:34. | :01:38.
This inquest of concentrate on the six hours of the stand-off between | :01:38. | :01:44.
Raoul Moat and the police. Today has all been about background, what | :01:44. | :01:48.
led to that stand-off. If we thought we know everything | :01:48. | :01:51.
there is to know about Raoul Moat, we were wrong. This afternoon, we | :01:51. | :01:55.
learned a little more. And we learned it from the man on the | :01:55. | :01:57.
right here. Detective Superintendent Jim Napier, who led | :01:57. | :02:01.
the investigation into Moat's crimes. He told the jury about a | :02:01. | :02:08.
noose which the police found on the loft hatch at his home in Newcastle. | :02:08. | :02:12.
And that six notes in which Moat threatens suicide were also found. | :02:12. | :02:16.
He also told the inquest that Moat had five children to four different | :02:16. | :02:18.
mothers. That he had been arrested by Northumbria Police on 12 | :02:19. | :02:22.
occasions, but that only one of those, for an assault, led to the | :02:22. | :02:26.
conviction for which Moat was imprisoned. Four days after his | :02:26. | :02:28.
release, Moat shot and injured his old girlfriend, Samantha Stobbart, | :02:28. | :02:36.
and her new boyfriend, Christopher Brown. Then he called 999. What you | :02:36. | :02:46.
:02:46. | :02:57. | ||
are about to hear has never been played outside a courtroom before. | :02:57. | :03:02.
I have got two hostages. Where are you? I'll not tell you where I am. | :03:02. | :03:06.
Can I confirm who you are? What is your date of birth? 17th June 1973. | :03:06. | :03:09.
I am very sorry that what has happened to Sam. But this other | :03:09. | :03:13.
idiot in the paper, I heard rumours in Jail about him and Sam. He said | :03:13. | :03:19.
he heard the same rumours in jail but he did not believe it is true. | :03:19. | :03:21.
After the shooting of PC David Rathband came this call, again, | :03:21. | :03:24.
never broadcast before. Are you taking us seriously now? Are you | :03:24. | :03:27.
taking me serious now? I have just downed your officer at the | :03:27. | :03:30.
roundabout. I am going to destroy a few lives like you destroyed mine. | :03:30. | :03:33.
Everything I had, everything, you have taken away, you have taken it. | :03:33. | :03:37.
I have got no life. There is nothing left. This is what happens | :03:37. | :03:40.
when you push, push and push. Are you proud of yourselves? Does this | :03:40. | :03:47.
make you happy now, people are getting hurt now? | :03:47. | :03:50.
Much of what has been said today was to provide context for what | :03:50. | :03:53.
happened here at Rothbury after Moat was cornered by the police. A | :03:53. | :03:57.
key issue is the police use of Tasers in this operation. The | :03:57. | :04:01.
coroner has told the members of the jury they will know an awful lot | :04:01. | :04:09.
about Tasers before the hearing is over. | :04:09. | :04:11.
We've previously been told that Moat had a grudge against the | :04:11. | :04:17.
police. Was anything said about that at today's inquest. | :04:17. | :04:22.
He claimed that he had been stopped at the wheel of his car by police | :04:22. | :04:28.
185 times. It is worth noting the fact that he was besotted with | :04:28. | :04:32.
Samantha Stobbart and said that her decision to push in out of her life | :04:32. | :04:37.
meant that she effectively pulled the trigger. | :04:37. | :04:40.
Thanks for that. Meanwhile, the police officer | :04:40. | :04:43.
blinded by Raoul Moat has said he's moving out of his family home. PC | :04:43. | :04:46.
David Rathband was arrested on suspicion of assault at his | :04:46. | :04:49.
Cramlington home last month. He says his decision was nothing to do | :04:49. | :04:51.
with his recent arrest but to help his continuing rehabilitation. Our | :04:52. | :05:01.
:05:02. | :05:02. | ||
Correspondent Mark Denten reports. A highly public figure since he was | :05:02. | :05:07.
shot and blinded. And right by his side, his wife Kath. Now PC | :05:07. | :05:09.
Rathband says, although he's still married, he'll live seperately from | :05:09. | :05:12.
his family as he starts his rehabilitation. Neil knows just | :05:12. | :05:18.
what that means. Five years ago, he was a computor games artist. Then | :05:18. | :05:21.
diabetes blinded him. Then his marriage broke up. Now he's on a | :05:21. | :05:27.
training programme. But it has been a long, hard road. Half the week, I | :05:27. | :05:33.
go home and shut the door and I want to scream. But if you keep | :05:33. | :05:41.
screaming, eventually, it starts to hurt. If you have that much anger, | :05:41. | :05:46.
you bottle it up inside, then it will burst at some point. It has to. | :05:46. | :05:55.
When it bursts, it is likely to affect the relationships around you. | :05:55. | :05:57.
Neil's now learning how to use specially adapted equipment. But | :05:57. | :06:03.
it's not all about tech. Here they say family support's crucial. | :06:03. | :06:09.
essential. We do come across people who are isolated and that alone. | :06:09. | :06:13.
But any support at the people can have from their families, and it is | :06:13. | :06:23.
difficult, it is so valuable. David Rathband has issued a | :06:23. | :06:27.
statement saying that his decision is to help his continuing | :06:27. | :06:37.
:06:37. | :06:40. | ||
rehabilitation and has nothing to Library staff in a North Yorkshire | :06:40. | :06:42.
seaside resort have been praised for their quick thinking after | :06:42. | :06:45.
helping police arrest a man wanted in connection with a murder in | :06:45. | :06:49.
Hexham. 47-year-old Graeme Jarman, from Consett in County Durham, was | :06:49. | :06:51.
recognised while browsing round Filey Library at the weekend. | :06:51. | :06:54.
Northumbria Police have been given more time to question Mr Jarman in | :06:54. | :06:56.
connection with their inquiries into the killing of pensioner | :06:56. | :07:06.
:07:06. | :07:12. | ||
Judith Richardson. Peter Lugg reports. | :07:12. | :07:17.
On Saturday, a member of staff for the library recognised Graeme | :07:17. | :07:21.
Jarman and called the police. He is still being questioned about the | :07:21. | :07:25.
murder in Hexham of pensioner Judith Richardson. We understand | :07:25. | :07:30.
that staff here recognised him from a photograph said to libraries all | :07:30. | :07:34.
over the country. They made a Law approach but called the police and | :07:34. | :07:40.
kept him under observation. The town's mayor said that there | :07:40. | :07:43.
library staff should be complimented for their quick | :07:43. | :07:48.
reactions. I think they handled it in a very professional manner and | :07:48. | :07:53.
that they should be commended. The pictures of the man kept changing. | :07:53. | :08:02.
I think they did a really good job to recognise him. This is a quiet | :08:02. | :08:07.
Edwardian seaside resort and an unlikely place for a nationwide | :08:07. | :08:12.
manhunt to end. The arrest has made big news among the local people. | :08:12. | :08:18.
is very frightening. It is a lovely place. I think he came here because | :08:18. | :08:24.
he thought nobody would recognise them. What better place to take | :08:24. | :08:30.
refuge, in a quiet town? Northumbria Police have thanked the | :08:30. | :08:40.
:08:40. | :08:45. | ||
public and the media for their A son accused of murdering his own | :08:45. | :08:47.
father has made his first appearance at Newcastle Crown Court. | :08:47. | :08:50.
85-year-old Francis Willis went missing from his home in Gateshead | :08:50. | :08:53.
last month. His remains were found buried in his garden in Leam Lane. | :08:53. | :08:56.
A post mortem examination revealed he'd died as a result of blunt | :08:56. | :08:59.
force trauma to the head. 62-year- old Francis Willis junior from Carr | :08:59. | :09:03.
Lane in Gateshead was remanded in custody. | :09:03. | :09:05.
People opposed to an underground nuclear waste store in west Cumbria | :09:05. | :09:08.
have presented a petition to the county council. It calls for the | :09:08. | :09:11.
authority and the district councils to withdraw from the discussion. | :09:11. | :09:13.
The Leader of Copeland Council, Elaine Woodburn, says the petition | :09:13. | :09:16.
will be considered, but the majority view will be the most | :09:16. | :09:25.
important. After two months of closure, the | :09:26. | :09:28.
maternity unit at Bishop Auckland hospital is resuming service. It | :09:28. | :09:31.
means expectant mums will no longer be forced to travel to other | :09:31. | :09:34.
hospitals like Durham University or North Tees. The unit was | :09:34. | :09:37.
temporarily closed in the summer because a lack of midwives meant it | :09:37. | :09:44.
was unsafe to keep the ward open. Rescuers spent more than two hours | :09:44. | :09:46.
searching for a man who accidentally sent a Mayday message | :09:46. | :09:49.
from his boat on a Cumbrian Lake. Liverpool Coastguard sent out two | :09:49. | :09:52.
search boats and members of the Patterdale Mountain rescue team | :09:52. | :09:55.
looked for the Lancashire man from the shore. He's said to have | :09:55. | :09:58.
apologised profusely when he was found, safe and well, at Howtown. | :09:58. | :10:01.
He told rescuers he'd just been showing a friend how to use the | :10:01. | :10:11.
:10:11. | :10:12. | ||
radio system. Each of the bought had it two people on it. So I | :10:12. | :10:15.
believe that 10 man-hours were used of research which was unfortunate, | :10:15. | :10:22.
but better than that having somebody a loss. It exercises the | :10:22. | :10:28.
systems to make sure that their work. But it is obviously something | :10:28. | :10:35.
we can do without. But these things do occasionally happen. | :10:35. | :10:37.
The developers say it'll transform a Northumberland town. Objectors | :10:37. | :10:40.
say it's too big and will ruin it. The town in question is Prudhoe. | :10:41. | :10:44.
And the controversial plans have been put forward by the Duke of | :10:44. | :10:45.
Northumberland's company Northumberland Estates. Their 20 | :10:45. | :10:47.
million development includes a supermarket, 150 properties and a | :10:47. | :10:50.
new town square. Well, tonight the people of Prudhoe are having their | :10:50. | :10:53.
say at a public meeting that started a few minutes ago. Keith | :10:53. | :11:03.
:11:03. | :11:06. | ||
Akehurst reports. Much of the development is on fields behind | :11:06. | :11:16.
:11:16. | :11:18. | ||
Front Street. The British Legion will be flattened. A block of five | :11:18. | :11:26.
shops will be pulled down and a second block refurbished. I have | :11:26. | :11:31.
got five members of staff here, they have all got livelihoods. How | :11:31. | :11:36.
do we plan for our business? We try to plan at least 12 months ahead | :11:37. | :11:45.
and how can you do that? We do not law we will Bobby in five years -- | :11:45. | :11:48.
we do not know where we will be in five years. | :11:48. | :11:51.
Northumberland Estates put forward plans five years ago. Passed by the | :11:51. | :11:54.
old Tynedale Council, they were overturned by a judicial review. | :11:54. | :11:55.
Amended proposals before Northumberland Council have | :11:55. | :12:03.
attracted 5,000 objections. affects the trade, which is my | :12:03. | :12:08.
first concern. And your talking about a large scale development. We | :12:08. | :12:13.
believe it is overbearing and out of scale with the town. We are | :12:13. | :12:18.
going to lose their view. Apart from that, we will have a road | :12:18. | :12:26.
carrying over 2000 vehicles a day. Shoppers, though, seem divided. | :12:26. | :12:33.
would do a lot of good for the town. I prefer that the way it is. At the | :12:33. | :12:39.
get will be a brilliant idea. of the ideas are good, but it is a | :12:39. | :12:44.
shame about the businesses that will suffer. It will not seem like | :12:45. | :12:51.
the same place to be. I think it is a bad idea. We need a supermarket, | :12:51. | :12:53.
but that is it. Northumberland Estates says, "New | :12:53. | :12:56.
investment, employment, growth, an improved town centre and a better | :12:56. | :13:00.
choice of shops - this is a very real opportunity for the town at a | :13:00. | :13:02.
time of worldwide economic depression". Keith Akehurst, BBC | :13:02. | :13:12.
:13:12. | :13:14. | ||
Look North, Prudhoe. You can now buy your own Legoman. | :13:14. | :13:16.
It was part of a controversial sculpture in Newcastle city centre | :13:16. | :13:20.
taken down in 2008. Now, the city council has put it up for sale on | :13:20. | :13:30.
:13:30. | :13:36. | ||
Ebay. So far there have been 18 bids for the Legoman, with the | :13:36. | :13:39.
current bid standing at 206. The auction will run for another nine | :13:39. | :13:44.
days. You're watching Look North. Still | :13:44. | :13:48.
to come tonight. A Tyne landmark gets a makeover. Ocean's 11 - the | :13:48. | :13:51.
sailing crews training on Tyneside to meet the demands of a round the | :13:51. | :14:01.
:14:01. | :14:04. | ||
world race. When the Gateshead Millennium | :14:05. | :14:08.
Bridge opened 10 years ago, it became an instant icon for the | :14:08. | :14:11.
region. Just about everybody loved it. But there was one thing a lot | :14:11. | :14:14.
of people didn't like. The piles, set into the water below, to guide | :14:14. | :14:18.
shipping down the River Tyne. Well, in the blink of an eye, or at least, | :14:18. | :14:20.
over the next few weeks, those piles will disappear. And no-one | :14:21. | :14:23.
will be happier than the architect who designed the bridge. Damian | :14:23. | :14:28.
O'Neil reports. 10 years on the Millennium Bridge | :14:28. | :14:31.
is now as much a part of the quayside as is bigger more | :14:31. | :14:35.
established crossing further upstream. Even let it if it is that | :14:35. | :14:44.
your favourite, most people do like it. But not many people like the | :14:44. | :14:54.
:14:54. | :14:55. | ||
lumps of metal rising out of the water. They were installed on the | :14:55. | :15:03.
order of their port of politic. They are not complimentary. -- | :15:03. | :15:13.
:15:13. | :15:13. | ||
They are being removed, how do you feel about that? I have to see it | :15:13. | :15:20.
is a real delight. I will be sending my photographer back. I | :15:20. | :15:27.
think it is good. We always felt that they would be removed at some | :15:27. | :15:34.
point. Our engineers thought they were a bit of overkill. The piles | :15:34. | :15:39.
have never been popular. Although it is not official that they will | :15:39. | :15:44.
be removed, and announcement is expected next week. Hopefully, the | :15:44. | :15:54.
:15:54. | :15:57. | ||
Millennium Bridge will finally be seem as it was meant to be. | :15:57. | :16:01.
The Bridge, of course, keeps you out of the water. So why would you, | :16:01. | :16:03.
willingly, plunge into freezing temperatures and face waves up to | :16:03. | :16:06.
five feet high? That's what sailing crews from around the world are | :16:06. | :16:09.
doing at a training centre in South Tyneside. The indoor course at the | :16:09. | :16:12.
college in South Shields is preparing sailors for the world | :16:12. | :16:15.
famous Volvo Ocean race, formerly the Whitbread Around The World race. | :16:15. | :16:25.
:16:25. | :16:25. | ||
Here's Adele Robinson. Thousands of miles ahead of them, | :16:25. | :16:29.
sailing over the world's most treacherous seas. For these crew | :16:30. | :16:32.
members, this training could prove prove the difference between life | :16:32. | :16:42.
:16:42. | :16:45. | ||
There have been incidents where people have gone overboard. People | :16:45. | :16:49.
have lost their lives and boats have had to be abandoned. What they | :16:49. | :16:52.
learn here is very important. We try to make this as realistic as | :16:52. | :17:02.
:17:02. | :17:06. | ||
possible. And this has been what they are preparing for. The Volvo | :17:06. | :17:12.
Ocean race, three people have died taking part. It is renowned for its | :17:12. | :17:16.
physical endurance and unpredictable conditions. Skipper | :17:16. | :17:26.
:17:26. | :17:27. | ||
Nick is well-versed. The board I was on was sinking. We had to do a | :17:27. | :17:32.
transfer at sea on to another board. The one thing you cannot assimilate | :17:32. | :17:39.
is the stress involved. We go through the mechanics and it is | :17:39. | :17:43.
left up to the people to be level- headed and put in what we have | :17:43. | :17:50.
learned. The teams simulate reactions and true-to-life | :17:50. | :17:58.
conditions. All to prepare them for some of the world's most | :17:58. | :18:08.
:18:08. | :18:09. | ||
inhospitable seas. The pull can generate waves, wind, | :18:09. | :18:15.
rain, dark this. It does not get as rough as the Southern Ocean, but it | :18:15. | :18:20.
does give them a feel for it. This is one of the best facilities | :18:20. | :18:24.
available. The cruiser will experience hunger and sleep | :18:24. | :18:34.
:18:34. | :18:42. | ||
deprivation, but this training may Not my idea of fun. | :18:42. | :18:47.
It looks horrendous. Plenty of people got better over | :18:47. | :18:53.
the weekend! What a disappointment. | :18:53. | :18:56.
Let's start with cricket and a mixed bag of results and non- | :18:56. | :18:58.
results for Durham, Yorkshire and England over the weekend. While | :18:58. | :19:01.
Yorkshire look almost certain to be relegated after bad light forced a | :19:01. | :19:04.
draw at Edgbaston, Durham's win at Hove keeps alive their hopes of | :19:04. | :19:06.
Hove keeps alive their hopes of winning the Division One county | :19:06. | :19:12.
title. Both their rivals play their game in hand this week. Sadly, | :19:12. | :19:15.
Durham's hopes of another Lord's Cup final, though, have been dashed. | :19:15. | :19:17.
Here's Mark Tulip. Durham fans were hoping to book | :19:17. | :19:21.
their tickets for a first Lord's their tickets for a first Lord's | :19:21. | :19:23.
one day cup final since 2007. Until his runout Dale Benkenstein had | :19:23. | :19:26.
held the innings together after the visitors had lost four early | :19:26. | :19:29.
wickets. You always had the feeling, though, that 219 wouldn't be enough. | :19:29. | :19:33.
And Somerset at times seemed to be cruising towards their target. When | :19:33. | :19:36.
the rain came, it was too late to save Durham with the match | :19:36. | :19:39.
eventually awarded to Somerset by 39 runs, using the Duckworth-Lewis | :19:39. | :19:41.
calculation. Back home at Chester- le-Street, on Saturday, the | :19:41. | :19:44.
brollies didn't go up until 3 o clock. And most of the capacity | :19:44. | :19:48.
crowd stayed for an hour or two longer in the vain hope of seeing a | :19:48. | :19:52.
result of some kind. It was a still proud day on his home ground for | :19:52. | :19:55.
Ben Stokes despite this spilled catch, and Yorkshire's Tim Bresnan | :19:55. | :19:59.
put the brakes on India at the end to keep the score well below 300. | :19:59. | :20:02.
But despite the rain and the queues for the loos more useful experience | :20:03. | :20:06.

Hartlepool leapfrogged Carlisle in the table after a win at Victoria | :20:12. | :20:21.
Park which takes them up to sixth. Exeter's fans had made the long | :20:21. | :20:26.
trek from Devon. Their hosts gave a debut to number 12, ex-Sunderland | :20:26. | :20:30.
defender Stephen Wright. The early opening goal was a case of if at | :20:30. | :20:36.

forcing the ball in. Pools left it late to make the game safe, Nathan | :20:39. | :20:42.
Luscombe preserving their unbeaten record in the league. Meanwhile the | :20:42. | :20:45.
Carlisle manager Greg Abbott felt his side made it too easy for | :20:45. | :20:49.
leaders MK Dons, who already led 2- 0 when Lee Miller got the Cumbrians | :20:49. | :20:52.
back into it. Full back Dean Lewington made it 3-1 for the | :20:52. | :20:57.
visitors. Carlisle will now look to bounce back as they begin the | :20:57. | :21:00.
defence of their Football League Trophy at Accrington tomorrow night. | :21:00. | :21:02.
Meanwhile two goals from Gateshead's Kris Gate at home to | :21:02. | :21:09.

It was a disappointing start to rugby union's Premiership season | :21:11. | :21:21.
:21:21. | :21:22. | ||
for Newcastle Falcons. A break from Sam Vesty put Matt Cararro through | :21:22. | :21:25.
for Bath's try, the only one of the match, and while the Golden Boot of | :21:25. | :21:28.
Jimmy Gopperth kept the Falcons in the game at the break, Bath's | :21:28. | :21:31.
defence kept the home side out in the second half while Vesty's | :21:31. | :21:35.
kicking ensured Newcastle didn't even come away with a bonus point. | :21:35. | :21:38.
Now, the Rugby World Cup starts on Friday, and one man who's going to | :21:38. | :21:43.
be at the centre of the action is Ashington referee Dave Pearson. We | :21:43. | :21:46.
caught up with him at Gosforth Rugby Club before he flew off to | :21:46. | :21:55.
He's sin-binned the now England manager and he's one of the | :21:55. | :21:57.
country's top referees officiating in the premiership and at | :21:57. | :22:01.
international level. In the last World Cup, he was video ref and ran | :22:01. | :22:05.
the line. But this time, Dave Pearson, sporting his new Maori- | :22:05. | :22:11.
inspired black England kit, is in the middle. He'll referee four pool | :22:11. | :22:14.
games to begin with - Romania v Scotland, Japan v Tonga, Russia v | :22:14. | :22:20.
USA and Georgia v Romania. So which is he looking forward to most? | :22:21. | :22:30.
:22:31. | :22:32. | ||
first one. We put a hard worker him -- we have put it the hard work in | :22:32. | :22:37.
it and I cannot wait to get started. Like the players, if he performs | :22:37. | :22:40.
well, he could find himself in the knock-out stages and, although he's | :22:40. | :22:43.
45, Dave has to make sure he's as fit as the players as well. | :22:43. | :22:46.
Training the Northumberland referees has helped get him into | :22:46. | :22:53.
shape. We have to be very fit. We know where GP s systems on the | :22:53. | :22:58.
pitch to track our movements. We can run up to eight kilometres on | :22:58. | :23:05.
While rugby referees don't have to put up with the same amount of | :23:05. | :23:08.
abuse and back chat as their football counterparts, it's not an | :23:08. | :23:14.
easy ride, so what is the upside of being the man in the middle? I have | :23:14. | :23:24.
:23:24. | :23:25. | ||
the best seat in the House and I get him for nothing. It is superbly. | :23:25. | :23:32.
They alter met would be to referee the final? It would be. But I am an | :23:32. | :23:36.
Englishman and hopefully England will be in the final. | :23:36. | :23:39.
In boxing, a points victory in his tenth professional fight for ex- | :23:39. | :23:42.
Olympic medallist Tony Jeffries in Doncaster. But the Sunderland | :23:42. | :23:45.
super-middleweight, who had a cut eye for nearly half the bout, | :23:45. | :23:52.
failed to impress and was branded too predictable by his own promoter. | :23:52. | :23:54.
Meanwhile, after a bright start, Darlington roofer Stuey Hall, here | :23:54. | :23:57.
on the right, lost his bantamweight title fight on points to Jamie | :23:57. | :24:07.

he has got a Lonsdale Belt. He has defended his title three times. | :24:14. | :24:24.

The weather will ruffle a few feathers tomorrow. It is going to | :24:48. | :24:57.

have winds of 20 miles an our in places. The gusts could be up to 25 | :25:37. | :25:47.
mph. A very wet start to the day tomorrow. A really miserable start. | :25:47. | :25:55.
The wind will come from the West, South West. They could easily cause | :25:55. | :26:00.
problems for high-sided vehicles. By teatime, the rain will have | :26:00. | :26:10.

cleared well. These are the sustained wind speeds, but there | :26:10. | :26:16.

Thank you very much. Now a final look at tonight's headlines. The | :27:13. | :27:15.
first batch of free schools are opening. The Government denies | :27:15. | :27:18.
they're for the privileged few. Paid for by the state, they're run | :27:18. | :27:21.
by organisations like charities, faith groups and parents. The | :27:21. | :27:24. |
