but never built the hundreds of holiday homes in Northern Cyprus. | :01:02. | :01:05.
Now as the authorities try to seize 1.6 million from his bank accounts, | :01:05. | :01:11.
his victims are demanding that money is returned to them. He is | :01:11. | :01:15.

victims have their own civil case. If they can prove the money is | :02:09. | :02:12.
theirs, they keep it. What's left will go to the Serious Organised | :02:12. | :02:15.

the entire 1.6 million - with a large proportion going to the | :02:18. | :02:21.

believes the years of street and legal wrangling contributed to her | :02:24. | :02:34.

husband's early death. It killed my husband, really. He worked all his | :02:34. | :02:39.
life, and that was going to be our retirement. He did not cope with it | :02:39. | :02:45.
very well. I didn't cope very well with it either. It is so sad. | :02:45. | :02:47.
Robb says the problems with his property developments were caused | :02:47. | :02:50.
by mistakes made by his employers and contractors. But Howard and | :02:50. | :02:53.
Barbara know they face another long legal battle. They say they can't | :02:53. | :02:56.
give up, but admit it's unlikely they will ever see their dream home | :02:56. | :03:05.
completed or their life savings returned. | :03:05. | :03:08.
A building has collapsed in a busy district of South Shields this | :03:08. | :03:12.
evening. Police were called to the Biz Bar on Ocean Road at 5.30 this | :03:12. | :03:14.
evening following reports that a building under renovation had | :03:14. | :03:17.
collapsed. It's not believed that anyone was inside at the time. | :03:17. | :03:20.
Traffic is being diverted away from the scene. If we get any more on | :03:20. | :03:24.
that story - we'll bring it to you later in the programme. | :03:24. | :03:26.
Newcastle United fans have staged another angry protest against the | :03:27. | :03:30.
re-naming of St James' Park. This time, a section of supporters at | :03:30. | :03:33.
last night's reserve game against Sunderland, started ripping up | :03:33. | :03:37.
Sports Direct signs in the ground and throwing them onto the pitch. | :03:37. | :03:40.
Then, a Sports Direct store in the city centre was violently attacked | :03:40. | :03:47.
after the match. Here's Jim Knight. These were the angry scenes in the | :03:47. | :03:51.
stands last night. The signs were being ripped off the walls near the | :03:51. | :03:56.
back and then hurled over the heads of supporters sitting below. Gusts | :03:56. | :03:58.
of wind added to the drama too, occaisionaly spinning the signs | :03:58. | :04:04.
high into the air. As stewards tried to control the situation, the | :04:04. | :04:09.
referee had to briefly stop the game. The signs were relatively | :04:09. | :04:12.
lightweight so no-one was hurt and the protest sparked a series of | :04:12. | :04:15.
tweets and updates on social networking sites as fans started | :04:15. | :04:25.
:04:25. | :04:26. | ||
boasting and celebrating what was happening. And no sooner had the | :04:26. | :04:30.
dust settled on those ugly scenes in the stadium, when some of the | :04:30. | :04:35.
fans came to the town centre to this store to launch another angry | :04:35. | :04:41.
protest. This time, they attacked the windows on the store. This was | :04:41. | :04:43.
more threatening and violent than anything that happened earlier in | :04:43. | :04:48.
the stadium. As the plate glass door was kicked in, Sports Direct | :04:48. | :04:56.
staff inside were left terrified about what was going to happen next. | :04:56. | :05:00.
Really, really serious crime with members of the public going to | :05:00. | :05:06.
their normal business, setting up their work, are terrified for their | :05:06. | :05:10.
safety. We are trying to catch those responsible. A spokeswoman at | :05:10. | :05:13.
Newcastle United today declined to comment on the events of the night. | :05:13. | :05:15.
Meanwhile, a Police investigation to find those responsible is now | :05:15. | :05:25.
:05:25. | :05:27. | ||
underway. Hundreds of Liberal Democrats from | :05:28. | :05:30.
across the country are gathering at the Sage Gateshead this evening for | :05:30. | :05:34.
their spring conference. But it won't all be sweetness and light, | :05:34. | :05:37.
as hundreds of protesters will gather outside the venue tomorrow. | :05:38. | :05:40.
The party is under fire on everything from health reforms to | :05:40. | :05:43.
unemployment. But the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg started his | :05:43. | :05:47.
visit at a Sunderland business which is creating jobs. Our | :05:47. | :05:50.
Political editor Richard Moss is at the conference for us tonight. | :05:50. | :05:58.
Richard. Thank you. When the Liberal | :05:58. | :06:03.
Democrats decided to hold their conference here in 2009, they were | :06:03. | :06:07.
in control of the council and were fighting to be the main opposition | :06:07. | :06:12.
to Labour. Three years on, they have lost control of the council | :06:12. | :06:16.
and are in coalition with their former sworn enemies and are taking | :06:16. | :06:20.
flak for council cuts and rising unemployment in the North East. | :06:20. | :06:25.
When Nick Clegg arrived today, he chose to accentuate the positive | :06:25. | :06:27.
with investment that was made in the area this week. We caught up | :06:27. | :06:33.
with them at a firm in Sunderland using government money to create | :06:33. | :06:36.
badly-needed jobs. If you're in government, it is the | :06:36. | :06:41.
kind of company you want to be seen in, a growing one. Unipres UK is a | :06:41. | :06:48.
major supplier to Nissan, the cars are made by a robot Stibbard the | :06:48. | :06:53.
components together. The success of Nissan means that it is expanding | :06:53. | :06:59.
this massive factory getting 5 million from the regional growth | :06:59. | :07:03.
fund and as it happens, Nissan is also getting money from this fund. | :07:03. | :07:10.
But should it? It is right for us to say, we will not give you free | :07:10. | :07:14.
money, but we will give you extra top of money if you show it makes a | :07:14. | :07:19.
difference in creating more jobs than it otherwise would do. It is | :07:19. | :07:23.
not just a small company or a large company, is that a company that | :07:23. | :07:30.
will create more jobs in the area? He wants to talk about successful | :07:30. | :07:34.
industry but he will face more questions this weekend. You wait | :07:35. | :07:40.
all year, then two turn up. Vince Cable opens the science festival in | :07:40. | :07:45.
Newcastle, the City that the Lib- Dems lost control of in 2011, and | :07:45. | :07:49.
at the spring conference tomorrow, they would be a sizable rally at | :07:49. | :07:55.
the support for the contraband short health reforms. -- the | :07:55. | :08:00.
controversial health reforms. about creating more money for the | :08:00. | :08:04.
private sector by making a profit out of ill-health. They are facing | :08:04. | :08:09.
an electoral disaster and they will see that for the next few years. | :08:09. | :08:13.
I thought this legislation would privatise the NHS or tear it apart, | :08:13. | :08:17.
then it would never see the light of day. But because people | :08:17. | :08:23.
demonstrate, he does not mean necessarily they are always right. | :08:23. | :08:28.
Of course, being in government does not mean that they will face | :08:28. | :08:37.
protest this weekend? David Walker and CLIVE people have set off to | :08:37. | :08:42.
run 42 miles from Middlesbrough at and will join the protest and they | :08:42. | :08:46.
are concerned about the Liberal Democrat's backing of the NHS | :08:46. | :08:49.
reforms and they want to persuade delegates here to ditch the reforms | :08:49. | :08:54.
for the good of patience and good of the Rome party. I think the | :08:54. | :08:59.
public and the profession will get behind the Liberal Democrats. They | :08:59. | :09:04.
are taking an extreme and dedicated decision and the need to listen to | :09:04. | :09:07.
that, and it think it would help them in a big way in getting | :09:07. | :09:11.
credibility back, because their credibility is shot at the moment. | :09:11. | :09:15.
How cheerful is this conference likely to be then? There will be | :09:15. | :09:19.
attempts to cheer them up, they want to celebrate more and | :09:19. | :09:24.
apologise less, but they will have to move through the protest to get | :09:24. | :09:28.
to the Hall tomorrow and they would be reminded of the advantages and | :09:28. | :09:38.
:09:38. | :09:40. | ||
disadvantages of being in government. The wife of PC David | :09:40. | :09:42.
Rathband has released a statement thanking Northumbria Police and | :09:42. | :09:44.
well-wishers for their support. Kath Rathband, who was separated | :09:44. | :09:47.
from her husband, says she will be attending his funeral in | :09:47. | :09:49.
Staffordshire, and a police memorial service later this month. | :09:49. | :09:52.
But she won't be present at a public memorial service tomorrow, | :09:52. | :09:54.
at Newcastle's St Nicholas Cathedral. PC Rathband, who was | :09:54. | :09:57.
shot and blinded by gunman Raoul Moat in July 2010, was found dead | :09:57. | :10:01.
last week at his home in Blyth. Two men have appeared in court in | :10:01. | :10:04.
connection with the death of an unknown man whose body was found in | :10:04. | :10:07.
Newcastle earlier this week. The man, believed to be in his 30s, was | :10:07. | :10:10.
found in Wingrove Avenue early on Wednesday morning. David Moore, | :10:10. | :10:13.
who's 28 and from Bentick Terrace, and Lee Tams, aged 29, of no fixed | :10:13. | :10:15.
address, appeared before Newcastle magistrates facing manslaughter | :10:15. | :10:19.
charges. They were remanded in custody to appear before Newcastle | :10:19. | :10:23.
Crown Court on March the 23rd. Police are still trying to identify | :10:23. | :10:28.
the victim. An MP has admitted assaulting four | :10:28. | :10:31.
people - including the Sedgefield MP Phil Wilson - in an attack in | :10:31. | :10:36.
the House of Commons bar. Mr Wilson, who is the Labour whip, was among | :10:36. | :10:39.
four people assaulted by his fellow Labour MP Eric Joyce in the | :10:39. | :10:42.
incident last month. Joyce, the Falkirk MP, pleaded guilty to four | :10:43. | :10:47.
charges of common assault at Westminster Magistrates Court. He | :10:47. | :10:50.
was given a community order, fined 3,000 and ordered to pay his | :10:50. | :10:57.
victims 1,400. Should we have a regional | :10:57. | :11:03.
government for the North? Well you might be forgiven for thinking | :11:03. | :11:06.
we've been here before. Remember this white elephant? The idea of a | :11:06. | :11:08.
North East regional assembly was rejected during a referendum eight | :11:08. | :11:12.
years ago. But now a campaign group - the Hannah Mitchell Foundation - | :11:12. | :11:16.
wants to revive the debate. It thinks the whole North should have | :11:16. | :11:19.
a regional government - and launched its proposals today. BBC | :11:19. | :11:23.
Newcastle's political reporter Fergus Hewison has more. | :11:23. | :11:27.
No - 696,519 and that the region has voted no to an elected assembly | :11:27. | :11:37.
:11:37. | :11:38. | ||
for the north east. That was 2004 - a resounding NO to regional | :11:38. | :11:48.
:11:48. | :11:51. | ||
government. But this is now - and new calls for a voice for the north. | :11:51. | :11:55.
We think we need to move on from the last referendum and learn | :11:55. | :11:58.
lessons from that. But a lot of people in the foundation of | :11:58. | :12:01.
thinking we need to go for an all northern approach that brings in | :12:01. | :12:05.
the North East with Yorkshire and also the north-west. If you look at | :12:05. | :12:11.
the North East, it is a relatively small region on its own. It has got | :12:11. | :12:15.
strong links with the North West, particularly with Cumbria and | :12:15. | :12:18.
pretty poor transport links. But do people feel it's time to revisit | :12:18. | :12:24.
the idea of regional government? More power at this end of the | :12:24. | :12:28.
country would be a good idea. It would let us have a say. We tried | :12:28. | :12:33.
it once and they turned it down. I do not honestly think it will work | :12:33. | :12:38.
any better around this time. Certainly, not independent, but | :12:38. | :12:42.
some sort of devolution would make sense, there is an imbalance of | :12:42. | :12:45.
finance and other things, so we need more of a voice. So some | :12:46. | :12:49.
enthusiasm. But the man who led the NO campaign against the regional | :12:49. | :12:51.
assembly doesn't believe there's any appetite. The public has | :12:51. | :12:54.
already decisively rejected this at a major referendum - 78% voted | :12:54. | :12:57.
against this solution because this is a politicians' solution to | :12:57. | :13:03.
problems politicians gave us and it will involve more politicians. | :13:03. | :13:07.
campaign for a regional government is in its early stages. Supporters | :13:07. | :13:10.
say they have an open mind about what form any new body would take. | :13:10. | :13:16.
Critics argue it's an idea well past its sell by date. | :13:16. | :13:20.
And there's more on that story on this weekend's Sunday Politics. | :13:20. | :13:24.
That's earlier than usual at 11:00 on BBC One. | :13:24. | :13:28.
Well there's plenty more to come in tonight's programme. Mark's here | :13:28. | :13:32.
with the sport. In football - it's a big weekend for one of our non- | :13:32. | :13:35.
league sides. Aand the man who's transformed a | :13:35. | :13:41.
little corner of North Yorkshire - with the help of his chainsaw. | :13:41. | :13:45.
And we have the weather forecast coming up with fine weather to look | :13:45. | :13:50.
forward to. Pop star Joe McElderry and former Sunderland player Jim | :13:50. | :13:53.
Montgomery have been at the official opening of a hostel for | :13:53. | :13:57.
homeless young people today. The hostel and training centre in | :13:57. | :14:01.
Sunderland is run by the charity Centrepoint. It will be a temporary | :14:01. | :14:04.
home to eighteen young people between the age of 16 and twenty | :14:04. | :14:10.
five. Lyttanya Shannon reports. He's the winner of two talent shows, | :14:10. | :14:14.
most famously the X-factor. But today Joe McElderry was away from | :14:14. | :14:17.
the bright lights - instead he was spending time with young people not | :14:17. | :14:25.
far from his own age, but with experiences a world apart. I have | :14:26. | :14:29.
been fortunate with the experiences I have had and the child that I | :14:29. | :14:34.
have had, but some people are not as fortunate and an environment | :14:34. | :14:37.
like this where there are sessions where you can talk about things and | :14:37. | :14:41.
you can get help to stay here, it is like a family foundation that | :14:41. | :14:44.
every human being needs. And his wasn't the only well known face. | :14:44. | :14:46.
Former Sunderland player Jim Montgommery was also there to show | :14:46. | :14:54.
his support. They have got the home base here with fantastic rooms. | :14:54. | :14:59.
They have got lovely places and they have always somewhere to come | :14:59. | :15:03.
back to. It stops them from lying in the streets and dossing in the | :15:03. | :15:09.
corner has, so it is good they have somewhere to come back to. 18 young | :15:09. | :15:12.
people with difficult backgrounds will be housed here - typically for | :15:12. | :15:15.
a period of up to two months, longer for those who need more help. | :15:15. | :15:18.
Young people like Nathan - who after receiving training and advice | :15:18. | :15:23.
as well as a bed - will be moving into his own flat on Monday. | :15:23. | :15:28.
makes a big difference, really, because most people have to find | :15:28. | :15:32.
work and to get off the dole, they want to make something of their | :15:32. | :15:35.
life. Definitely. But there have been some concerns from local | :15:35. | :15:38.
residents that the new centre could attract trouble-makers. But the | :15:38. | :15:43.
managers here though say the building is rigorously managed. | :15:43. | :15:47.
These young people are Sunderland young people and through no fault | :15:47. | :15:49.
of their own, they are facing homelessness and we are here to | :15:50. | :15:54.
help them and to support that. Let's work together to eradicate | :15:54. | :15:58.
this handful issue. It's hoped this new facility will go some way to | :15:58. | :16:01.
doing that and to help Centrepoint deliver much needed services to | :16:01. | :16:08.
hundreds of young people in the North East for some time to come. | :16:08. | :16:11.
You may remember a recent Look North report of the mysterious | :16:11. | :16:13.
carvings that appeared in a woodland beauty spot in North | :16:13. | :16:16.
Yorkshire. The highly detailed wooden sculptures along the banks | :16:16. | :16:19.
of the River Nidd at Knaresborough have proved such an attraction that | :16:19. | :16:24.
people are travelling from far and wide to see them. And now their | :16:24. | :16:28.
creator has come forward. He's Tommy Craggs, a chainsaw sculptor | :16:28. | :16:34.
from County Durham. Peter Lugg reports. | :16:34. | :16:37.
A stroll along Abbey Road in the Nidd Gorge has always been popular | :16:37. | :16:40.
with visitors to Knaresborough but now almost overnight it seems to | :16:40. | :16:43.
have become a national tourist attraction thanks to the talents of | :16:43. | :16:53.
:16:53. | :16:57. | ||
a man from Consett and his power tools. You have to try and | :16:57. | :16:59.
visualise the three-dimensional form. Sometimes it can take days | :16:59. | :17:04.
and weeks, just thinking about it in the night-time, trying to plan | :17:04. | :17:07.
these cuts he will make. These extraordinary sculptures are the | :17:07. | :17:11.
work of Tommy Craggs whose mission it is to turn old tree trunks into | :17:11. | :17:16.
works of art. The wing shape was there with the two stems spanning | :17:16. | :17:24.
out. I just had to shape it up and Calvet in the head for the shape. | :17:24. | :17:30.
The grain of the wood goes up a long go back. This takes a bit of | :17:30. | :17:34.
mountaineering to get to see it closely. It is based on the Green | :17:34. | :17:44.
:17:44. | :17:48. | ||
man concept. He is called King hollow. The sculptures have been | :17:48. | :17:52.
commissioned by the man who lives in the big house by the river who | :17:52. | :17:55.
when tidying up his woodland one day thought he'd like to go one | :17:55. | :17:59.
better. I wasn't trying to create anything, to be fair, I just wanted | :18:00. | :18:03.
to do something nice with something beautiful while it was alive and | :18:03. | :18:08.
keep beauty in them while they are there. Franny budding sculptures | :18:09. | :18:16.
out there, this is how a simple face is done. -- for any budding | :18:16. | :18:19.
sculptor's. Tommy's now negotiating with the Mother Shipton's tourist | :18:19. | :18:29.
attraction for carving's on their side of the gorge. | :18:29. | :18:36.
I have seen theirs in real life, and they're absolutely astonishing! | :18:36. | :18:44.
Sport now and a big weekend for many of our teens. | :18:44. | :18:47.
Sunderland will take part in a pre- season tournament in South Korea | :18:47. | :18:49.
this summer against Korean club Seongnam and Hamburg. Tomorrow they | :18:49. | :18:52.
take on a near full-strength Liverpool at the Stadium of Light | :18:52. | :18:55.
having managed just one win in their last eleven against the | :18:55. | :18:58.
Merseysiders - and that courtesy of a beach ball! | :18:58. | :19:00.
Academy graduate Jordan Henderson, who makes his first return after | :19:00. | :19:03.
his big money move to Liverpool, played in the famous beachball game, | :19:03. | :19:06.
Sunderland's only recent win against Liverpool - and one of the | :19:06. | :19:09.
most unusual. After the dust settled on those two red cards in | :19:09. | :19:12.
the Tyne Wear derby, Martin O'Neill was left hoping he can shuffle the | :19:12. | :19:15.
pack to good effect against the Carling Cup holders. But was he | :19:15. | :19:18.
taken aback after his captain Lee Cattermole saw red after the final | :19:18. | :19:22.
whistle last Sunday? It was really disappointing to come into the | :19:22. | :19:27.
dressing room and find out that not only was he sitting there | :19:27. | :19:32.
dejectedly, but there was another one to contend with after that, and | :19:32. | :19:37.
I suppose, if we had hung around for another few hours, we could | :19:37. | :19:41.
have lost another five! But anyway, in the cold light of day, obviously, | :19:41. | :19:45.
you have to count the cost. As for the two managers in last weekend's | :19:45. | :19:50.
bad tempered derby draw - will they be making up any time soon? If I | :19:50. | :19:55.
don't know. By ensure, as time presses on, things get forgotten | :19:55. | :20:00.
about. -- I'm sure. Newcastle United have to wait until | :20:00. | :20:03.
Monday to continue their push for European football. The Magpies face | :20:03. | :20:06.
a resurgent Arsenal at The Emirates but while a Europa League place | :20:06. | :20:13.
remains in sight. United legend Alan Shearer thinks Alan Pardew's | :20:13. | :20:16.
men will probably miss out on the Champions League. A win would put | :20:16. | :20:19.
them within two points of the Gunners, but Shearer believes a top | :20:19. | :20:22.
four finish may be just beyond them. I wouldn't discounted, but it | :20:22. | :20:26.
probably well be. It would be a shame if they don't, because they | :20:26. | :20:31.
have had such a magnificent season. It would be great if they could end | :20:31. | :20:36.
on at high. He is up against it straight away. He has got on with | :20:36. | :20:41.
his business quietly and he has done an exceptional job and demands | :20:41. | :20:44.
exceptional credit. It's not quite a derby, but | :20:44. | :20:46.
Middlesbrough face their near neighbours on Sunday when Neil | :20:46. | :20:50.
Warnock's Leeds United visit the Riverside. The visitors still have | :20:50. | :20:53.
an outside chance of making the play-offs but fell to an unlucky | :20:53. | :20:55.
defeat last week against table- toppers Southampton. Boro boss Tony | :20:55. | :21:01.
Mowbray says its a game to relish. I think in football, managers want | :21:01. | :21:05.
to be involved in big games, high energy games with a lot at stake. | :21:05. | :21:12.
And this game falls into that category. By ensure they will be | :21:12. | :21:16.
wound up to come and have a real go. -- I am sure. We have to be ready | :21:16. | :21:26.
:21:26. | :21:27. | ||
for them. In League One, Carlisle United - | :21:27. | :21:30.
whose players we saw earlier in the programme - are at home to Bury - | :21:31. | :21:33.
with Hartlepool at Walsall. Now tomorrow's going to be a big day | :21:34. | :21:36.
for non-league York City. Already chasing promotion back to the | :21:36. | :21:39.
Football League, the Minstermen take on Luton in the first leg of | :21:39. | :21:41.
the FA Trophy semi-final. Half an eye was on the weekend | :21:41. | :21:44.
ahead and another shot at an FA Trophy final at Wembley. We have | :21:44. | :21:47.
been there once and we want to go back again and when this time and | :21:47. | :21:50.
bring it back with us. We have had our days out at Wembley in previous | :21:50. | :21:54.
seasons and they were a disappointment, but the big thing | :21:54. | :21:58.
for everyone is getting back into the leak. It York have competing | :21:58. | :22:03.
priorities, but for the man in charge of their responsibilities, | :22:03. | :22:09.
the trophy is a lifeline. It is probably worth 200,000 for as when | :22:09. | :22:12.
you look at the prize money and the gate receipts leading up to the | :22:12. | :22:18.
final. It is quite significant at our level. I want to lead my team | :22:18. | :22:23.
out at Wembley and on the day, it is about a bit of luck, but wanting | :22:23. | :22:27.
it more than them. It should be a great day on Saturday and I am | :22:27. | :22:30.
looking forward to it. Good luck to Chester-le-Street | :22:30. | :22:33.
swimmer Steph Proud who is in with a shout of Olympic qualification | :22:33. | :22:39.
tonight. She has missed out on Olympic qualification despite | :22:39. | :22:42.
coming second in the backstroke final at the British Championships | :22:42. | :22:47.
in London. Her semi-final performance put her just a fraction | :22:47. | :22:50.
short of the time needed to guarantee selection for the Games. | :22:50. | :22:52.
Meanwhile, Sunderland's Jonathan Carlisle came seventh in last | :22:52. | :22:54.
night's men's final, while former City of Newcastle swimmer Andy | :22:54. | :22:56.
Mayor made it through to the butterfly final. | :22:56. | :23:01.
And congratulations to Lyndon Longhorne, from County Durham. He | :23:01. | :23:04.
swam to victory in the 150m Individual Medley in the multi- | :23:04. | :23:06.
disability events, touching in a British record of just over three | :23:06. | :23:11.
minutes. Finally good luck to our rugby | :23:11. | :23:14.
league clubs at the start of a new league season. York are on their | :23:14. | :23:17.
travels in the Championship on Sunday - and in the division below | :23:17. | :23:20.
them, Whitehaven are in South Yorkshire, while Gateshead and | :23:20. | :23:23.
Workington both kick off with home matches. | :23:23. | :23:25.
In basketball, BBL leaders Newcastle Eagles hope to bounce | :23:25. | :23:28.
back from a rare defeat with victories at home to Leicester | :23:28. | :23:38.
:23:38. | :23:38. | ||
tonight and away to neighbours Durham Wildcats 24 hours later. | :23:38. | :23:43.
Thank you. In South Shields, and a building has collapsed in a busy | :23:43. | :23:48.
part of the South centre and police were called to the bar at 5:30pm | :23:48. | :23:51.
following reports that aid renovated building had collapsed. | :23:51. | :23:56.
Let's go to work Chief Reporter there are now. | :23:56. | :24:02.
The building came down, as you said, at about 5:30pm. Fire officers that | :24:02. | :24:06.
arrived here were dreading the worst, but when they arrived, they | :24:06. | :24:10.
established that nobody had been in front of the building and nobody | :24:10. | :24:14.
was inside. They have spoken to the builders and it was under | :24:14. | :24:19.
renovation, but thankfully, there was nobody inside. There is an | :24:19. | :24:23.
awful lot of damage. The road has been closed off. People are waiting | :24:23. | :24:27.
to see what has developed. Fire officers have been shouting into | :24:28. | :24:32.
the rubble since we have been here. We do not know how long this road | :24:32. | :24:41.
will be closed, but if you know Ocean Road, it happened at 5:30pm. | :24:41. | :24:47.
Now, the weather. Can be expected some spring sunshine? It has been | :24:47. | :24:56.
It will continue with mixed fortunes, but I think it would be | :24:56. | :25:02.
quite fine and settled. A lovely settled shot here from all the | :25:02. | :25:07.
water. Getting us in no mood for Rachel Baird weekend. If you get | :25:07. | :25:12.
the opportunity, the daffodils are allowed to with this spectacular | :25:12. | :25:22.
display. Let's have a look at the headline in more detail, it would | :25:22. | :25:27.
be very mild in the region this weekend. Mostly dry and in the east, | :25:27. | :25:33.
some good, sunny spells to take you through Saturday and Sunday. This | :25:33. | :25:37.
evening, a lot of cloud around which will stay with us overnight, | :25:37. | :25:43.
but the drizzly rain will finally move off by dawn tomorrow morning. | :25:43. | :25:48.
With cloud in place, temperatures not dipping took far. Seven-nine | :25:48. | :25:54.
degrees. Tomorrow morning, there will be a bit of drizzle around | :25:54. | :25:59.
Cumbria first thing, but it will not be long before it disappears. | :25:59. | :26:03.
More cloudy on the western side, but it should stay dry through the | :26:03. | :26:09.
remainder of the day. As the cloud comes up and over the Pennines, it | :26:09. | :26:12.
should break up so the best a brightness and sunshine will be at | :26:12. | :26:18.
the North East coast. High a temperatures in the east of 14, 15 | :26:18. | :26:26.
degrees Celsius tomorrow. Above- average. 10-12 for Cumbria. Mild | :26:26. | :26:30.
everywhere. Settled for the weekend, because of this high pressure in | :26:30. | :26:37.
charge. Again, most of us will be dried this weekend, but then East, | :26:37. | :26:42.
West spit in terms of sunshine and cloud on Sunday. Over the weekend, | :26:42. | :26:47.
a quick reminder, the best of the sunshine right across the East and | :26:47. | :26:51.
Sunday afternoon for the North East coast, it looks particularly bright. | :26:51. | :26:57.
Temperatures, doing well, staying above double figures everywhere. | :26:57. | :27:03.
Peking in the mid-teens. If you're out and about this weekend, the | :27:03. | :27:05.
sunshine it will be in the North East coast but you should not have | :27:05. | :27:10.
to wrap up to warm our data umbrellas. If you are out and about, | :27:10. | :27:20.
:27:20. | :27:27. | ||
send us your weather pictures. Thank you. What every you're doing, | :27:27. | :27:31. |
