Hello and welcome to Wednesday's Look North. Tonight: 130 | :00:00. | :00:11.
firefighters to go from one of the North's brigades. | :00:12. | :00:15.
Unions describe the cuts as devastating. If these cuts kept `` | :00:16. | :00:24.
go ahead we will have 88. That is a 50% reduction. It is impossible to | :00:25. | :00:28.
retain the level of cuts and maintain the same level of cover. | :00:29. | :00:31.
Is there fresh hope for the family of a little girl who went missing | :00:32. | :00:35.
more than thirty years ago? Mind the doors ` the new safety | :00:36. | :00:39.
campaign on the Metro after a series of shocking incidents. | :00:40. | :00:41.
The number of pub closures continues to rise. But can the trend be | :00:42. | :00:44.
reversed? And voila! The route of the Tour de | :00:45. | :00:48.
France through our region is unveiled in Paris. We visit one of | :00:49. | :00:52.
the towns to welcome the big race next year. | :00:53. | :00:55.
In sport, a good night for three of our Football League clubs. Catch all | :00:56. | :00:58.
the goals and meet the ex`Whitehaven head coach, leading Scotland into | :00:59. | :01:02.
the World Cup at Workington The most devastating cuts in the service's | :01:03. | :01:18.
history. The most devastating cuts in the history of the service. | :01:19. | :01:21.
That's the verdict of the Fire Brigades Union following the | :01:22. | :01:23.
announcement that more than five million pounds is being cut from the | :01:24. | :01:27.
Tyne and Wear Fire Service. It will see 131 firefighters go over the | :01:28. | :01:31.
next few years ` that's one in five of front line staff. Fire engines | :01:32. | :01:36.
and stations are also under threat. Our Political Editor Richard Moss is | :01:37. | :01:39.
outside one of the stations that could be affected now. This is | :01:40. | :01:48.
Gosford fire station and it is one station which could be closed as | :01:49. | :01:54.
part of the cuts. In the past, Chief Fire officers have said we will make | :01:55. | :01:58.
sure the public will not notice the difference. This time the chief fire | :01:59. | :02:02.
officer says this is front line and the public will notice the | :02:03. | :02:05.
difference. We will get two fires in slower times than they have done up | :02:06. | :02:11.
to now. Why is that the case? 131 firefighters as you mentioned will | :02:12. | :02:16.
go. One in five fire engines, 65 Rangers will go. Three fire stations | :02:17. | :02:25.
will also close. One aerial platform will also be lost to the service. | :02:26. | :02:31.
There will be a new fire station in Benton. For smaller targeted | :02:32. | :02:36.
response are alliances will be available. They can only tackle | :02:37. | :02:44.
minor fires. Devastating cuts and the chief fire officer admits that | :02:45. | :02:47.
and said the public will notice the difference. They will notice that | :02:48. | :02:52.
there are less fire engines on the street. When a call 999 we may take | :02:53. | :02:57.
longer to get there. I like to reassure everyone, our focus is on | :02:58. | :03:03.
speed of response to life risk. If that is life risk at the incident, | :03:04. | :03:08.
we will respond as quickly as possible and we expect that response | :03:09. | :03:12.
to be very close to how fast we are today. The unions believe these cuts | :03:13. | :03:17.
are as bad as anything they have seen. They say their members are | :03:18. | :03:23.
angry today. Not just because they will lose jobs but because they have | :03:24. | :03:29.
been put in a compromised position. Their own safety and public safety | :03:30. | :03:33.
could be a risk. This is the view of the union. To lose a firefighters | :03:34. | :03:40.
and six fire engines and two stations is devastating. We had a | :03:41. | :03:45.
firefighters less than ten years ago. We will now have eating eat. It | :03:46. | :03:50.
is impossible to sustain that level of cuts and been saying the same | :03:51. | :03:57.
level of cover. `` 88. Can anything stop the cuts? The fire station said | :03:58. | :04:05.
it wants EU views from the public. The public and the MPs are | :04:06. | :04:08.
encouraged to get behind a campaign to reverse the cuts. However, the | :04:09. | :04:13.
fire service will need more money from the government. The government | :04:14. | :04:17.
said fire rescue was very important but all of the public sector needed | :04:18. | :04:21.
to play a part in cutting the deficit. There could be things like | :04:22. | :04:25.
sharing services and changing shift patterns. The fire service says they | :04:26. | :04:31.
have done all that. They cannot cut into the front line to make savings. | :04:32. | :04:36.
We have the fastest response times in the country in Tyne Wear but | :04:37. | :04:40.
that may not last after these cuts. Thank you. It's more than thirty | :04:41. | :04:48.
years since she disappeared. But today a man from Hartlepool says | :04:49. | :04:52.
he has fresh hope that his daughter is still alive. Katrice Lee went | :04:53. | :04:55.
missing on her second birthday from a shop in Paderborn in Germany where | :04:56. | :04:59.
her father was serving in the army. Her family have always believed she | :05:00. | :05:05.
was abducted. With the fresh publicity surrounding the | :05:06. | :05:07.
disappearance of Madeliene McCann, and the appeal to find the parents | :05:08. | :05:11.
to a young girl in Greece, they now have renewed hope that Katrice may | :05:12. | :05:14.
be found. Andrew Hartley has the story Katrice Lee hasn't been seen | :05:15. | :05:18.
for 32 years. She went missing on her second birthday in 1981. Katrice | :05:19. | :05:27.
disappeared from a supermarket on an army base in Germany where her | :05:28. | :05:30.
father was stationed. Her family have claimed all along that she was | :05:31. | :05:35.
stolen to order. We were last at and accused of clutching at straws. What | :05:36. | :05:43.
is possibly baiting them on the backside now, and they are focusing | :05:44. | :05:47.
on the theory that she was sold to a childless couple. | :05:48. | :05:52.
That belief Katrice was abducted was strengthened by last week's | :05:53. | :05:54.
discovery of a four`year`old child living in a Roma settlement in | :05:55. | :05:59.
Greece. Maria was found with a couple who were not her biological | :06:00. | :06:02.
parents. They've been charge with abduction. I have always said that | :06:03. | :06:11.
there was an issue of human trafficking and children were being | :06:12. | :06:15.
sold. We were laughed at and accused of clutching at straws. What has | :06:16. | :06:21.
come to pass has proven that what we said 30 years ago is true and has | :06:22. | :06:26.
been prevalent for 30 years. Last year the Royal Military Police | :06:27. | :06:29.
opened an inquiry into Katrice's disappearance ` with three lines of | :06:30. | :06:33.
inquiry ` that she fell into a nearby river and drowned. She was | :06:34. | :06:40.
abducted and murdered. Or thirdly, that she was kidnapped or stolen to | :06:41. | :06:44.
order and she is alive and well today ` probably unaware of her true | :06:45. | :06:48.
identity. They've now discounted the possibility that Katrice drowned ` | :06:49. | :06:51.
the major line of inquiry in 1981. Which leaves the family claiming the | :06:52. | :06:58.
original investigation was botched. They lost a lot of opportunities. | :06:59. | :07:04.
When you consider that in the first 24 hours, even the border crossings | :07:05. | :07:12.
to all the different countries, they were not informed that my daughter | :07:13. | :07:15.
had gone missing. Six weeks later the cashier in the shopping complex | :07:16. | :07:23.
where she went missing was then interviewed. This length of time a | :07:24. | :07:28.
loud these perpetrators to get away with it. Andrew Hartley joins me | :07:29. | :07:31.
now. I understand there've been further developments on this story | :07:32. | :07:39.
tonight? I can reveal that Katrice's father, who you saw in that piece, | :07:40. | :07:42.
met members of the investigative team at the Royal Military Police | :07:43. | :07:52.
this afternoon. And whilst Mr Lee's concerns at what he sees as | :07:53. | :07:55.
incompetence and cover up in the original inquiry remain ` he was at | :07:56. | :07:59.
least brought up to speed on the latest developments. I've been | :08:00. | :08:02.
speaking this evening with the officer in charge of the | :08:03. | :08:04.
investigation Major Clive Robins He told me that despite the fact that | :08:05. | :08:08.
this case has gone on for so very long there are reasons to be | :08:09. | :08:12.
optimistic that they will get to the bottom of this case. That's because | :08:13. | :08:17.
he has a large team working on the case in a major incident room and | :08:18. | :08:20.
because policing and forensics have developed so much in the last three | :08:21. | :08:27.
decades. So hope is still there. Thank you. | :08:28. | :08:34.
A man's been remanded in custody charged with the murder of estate | :08:35. | :08:37.
agent Nicole Waterhouse in York. Her body was found in an apartment at | :08:38. | :08:41.
Phoenix Boulevard on Sunday night. 25`year`old Jeremy Green is also | :08:42. | :08:44.
charged with the attempted murder of another woman. He'll appear at Leeds | :08:45. | :08:51.
Crown Court next month. It's emerged that a third person's | :08:52. | :08:54.
been arrested on suspicion of assault by police investigating | :08:55. | :08:56.
concerns at a Penrith nursing home. Last month a man aged 21 and a woman | :08:57. | :09:00.
aged 22 were arrested in connection with the incidents at the Beacon | :09:01. | :09:03.
Edge Nursing Home. They've been bailed until later this month. Now a | :09:04. | :09:07.
20`year`old woman has also been detained and bailed until November. | :09:08. | :09:12.
Operators of the Tyne and Wear Metro have begun a campaign to try to stop | :09:13. | :09:16.
people interfering ` and taking chances ` with train doors. It | :09:17. | :09:22.
follows a number of incidents where people have become trapped and | :09:23. | :09:25.
dragged along platforms. Gerry Jackson reports. | :09:26. | :09:33.
Most of us, at some point, have left it to the last moment ` but push it | :09:34. | :09:37.
that bit too far, and like this woman in Newcastle, you could be | :09:38. | :09:41.
risking your life. You As was this man at South Hylton station ` again, | :09:42. | :09:46.
a hand trapped by a closing door. And in yet another example, in | :09:47. | :09:49.
Jarrow, a woman was dragged along the platform by an accelerating | :09:50. | :09:54.
train... Passengers managed to free her just in time. The problem ` even | :09:55. | :09:59.
on the most modern Metro carriages, the doors won't necessarily spring | :10:00. | :10:02.
back open and an obstruction won't necessarily prevent the train | :10:03. | :10:10.
moving. The doors are designed to large objects. But when people put | :10:11. | :10:16.
hands and smaller objects, the doors do not recognise them and will stoke | :10:17. | :10:21.
flows. That is how things can become very dangerous for customers. | :10:22. | :10:27.
At the Haymarket a woman jams a stick into the train doors ` the | :10:28. | :10:35.
stick travels without her. Of course these are extreme examples but Metro | :10:36. | :10:38.
say doors are obstructed in some way around 20,000 times a year. All | :10:39. | :10:42.
evidence they say that travellers are taking too many chances. Just | :10:43. | :10:49.
ask the drivers. We do have monitors on the platform which I was to | :10:50. | :10:55.
operate the doors in a safe manner but obviously when people jump on | :10:56. | :10:59.
the last minute it is dangerous. Are putting yourself at risk and you're | :11:00. | :11:07.
putting the driver risk. You could potentially go to jail. | :11:08. | :11:11.
In theory, you can be heavily fined for not minding the doors, please. | :11:12. | :11:17.
The operators hope this new slightly tongue in cheek information film | :11:18. | :11:23.
will help with the message. Look before you leap. I think it is | :11:24. | :11:28.
beneficial what they are doing. Safety is a good idea but I do not | :11:29. | :11:34.
see that practised as much as it used to be. They should be updating | :11:35. | :11:40.
the Metro so they do not do that. I can see why they are doing it, it | :11:41. | :11:47.
makes sense. You're watching Wednesday's Look | :11:48. | :11:50.
North. Dawn joins me for tonight's sport shortly. Also still to come... | :11:51. | :11:57.
Le grand depart! We look forward to the Tour de France cycle race which | :11:58. | :12:01.
comes to the North for the first time in 2014. How was the weather? | :12:02. | :12:06.
It looks decent for tomorrow but wet and windy again by Friday. Gianni | :12:07. | :12:19.
Letta for the full forecast. More and more visitors are beginning | :12:20. | :12:23.
to discover the attractions of the Eden district on the edge of the | :12:24. | :12:26.
Lake District ` according to businesses in the area. A conference | :12:27. | :12:29.
at the Center Parcs holiday village near Penrith today heard how the | :12:30. | :12:33.
region can compete with the high fells of the Lake District. And with | :12:34. | :12:36.
the economy said to be turning the corner, the sector could be set for | :12:37. | :12:40.
growth and new jobs. It has been a tough four years for tourism. It has | :12:41. | :12:43.
been hard going with the recession. Now we're coming out of recession | :12:44. | :12:48.
and there is more to spend. This is an up`and`coming destination and we | :12:49. | :12:51.
need to see Henry can use that to benefit the district to sustain and | :12:52. | :12:57.
grow employment. More and more pubs across the North | :12:58. | :13:01.
have been calling time, as difficult trading conditions force them out of | :13:02. | :13:04.
business. The loss of village pubs has been widely reported, but those | :13:05. | :13:07.
on housing estates in our towns and cities are disappearing even faster. | :13:08. | :13:13.
But now, in Carlisle, the immediate future of two city pubs is being | :13:14. | :13:17.
secured. As Graham Moss reports, beer campaigners hope it's evidence | :13:18. | :13:19.
of a growing trend. These days The Sailor has little to | :13:20. | :13:23.
be jovial about. You'll The pedestrians have walked elsewhere. | :13:24. | :13:27.
Whole areas of Carlisle have been left without a local. Beer | :13:28. | :13:35.
campaigners CAMRA says the national closure rate has risen from 18 pubs | :13:36. | :13:39.
per week to 26 pubs a week closing on the latest figures. But there's | :13:40. | :13:42.
cautious optimism the next set of information, currently being | :13:43. | :13:44.
compiled, will show some improvement. Take The Currock which | :13:45. | :13:50.
serves the estate of the same name ` here a change in the building's | :13:51. | :13:53.
ownership ` has secured the future of the pub. Had means we can stay | :13:54. | :13:58.
for a while longer yet. We have signed a lease. It means I can stay | :13:59. | :14:07.
and continue and keep the pub open which is wonderful. No one is | :14:08. | :14:17.
getting carried away, this is the magpie in, the local for this | :14:18. | :14:23.
estate. It is grade two listed and has won awards at the last paint was | :14:24. | :14:28.
signed here in the summer. It was probably my favourite pub in | :14:29. | :14:32.
Carlisle at the time it closed. We really would like to see it | :14:33. | :14:39.
reopened. It serves a big community. The locals really do miss it. Back | :14:40. | :14:45.
here, the late afternoon trade is starting to arrive. Quite a few pubs | :14:46. | :14:54.
have closed, this is all we have got left in the area. People support and | :14:55. | :15:00.
enjoy them and it is a valuable part of the community. We are community | :15:01. | :15:07.
pub that is run on regular base. Hopefully regulars will bring their | :15:08. | :15:10.
friends in and they will bring friends. We are brilliant pub and | :15:11. | :15:16.
there are going to characters that coming here. Whatever the figures | :15:17. | :15:19.
show, these Carlisle drinkers seem just happy still to have a local | :15:20. | :15:23.
pub. So, has your local closed recently? | :15:24. | :15:30.
And what do think should be done to keep pubs open. Let us know what you | :15:31. | :15:33.
think on the Look North Facebook page. The details on how to log on | :15:34. | :15:39.
are on your screen now. It's official. The world's greatest | :15:40. | :15:44.
cycle race ` the Tour de France ` will run through parts of our region | :15:45. | :15:47.
next July. The final route was announced in Paris earlier today. | :15:48. | :15:54.
It'll be the first time le Grand Depart has been witnessed in the | :15:55. | :15:58.
north of England ` and businesses deep in the Yorkshire Dales are | :15:59. | :16:01.
hoping the massive event can help them turn around their fortunes | :16:02. | :16:04.
after falling numbers of visitors in recent years. Phil Chapman has sent | :16:05. | :16:12.
this report from Swaledale. We're taught away deep in the Yorkshire | :16:13. | :16:17.
Dales National Park. Many people feel it has been forgotten until | :16:18. | :16:22.
now. Keen cyclist will read this route every day but one weekend next | :16:23. | :16:28.
summer, the whole world will meet `` see it, an estimated audience of 3 | :16:29. | :16:33.
billion viewers. They hope the added attention will bring a lasting | :16:34. | :16:36.
legacy after being hit by the economic downturn in the last few | :16:37. | :16:43.
years. It is going to be a fantastic opportunity for all the businesses | :16:44. | :16:47.
to make a lot of money out of it to be honest. We expect thousands of | :16:48. | :16:54.
people. We do not know how many. We think this place will be teeming | :16:55. | :17:00.
with people. This is help was picked up within 24 hours of the | :17:01. | :17:02.
announcement but has been tough recently. It has been quite | :17:03. | :17:06.
challenging in the last couple of years. I suspect that is true for | :17:07. | :17:11.
all hospitality businesses, especially in the North. Last year, | :17:12. | :17:18.
not only the economic situation but also the weather was harsh. It is | :17:19. | :17:26.
hoped the weather behaves itself for stage one on July five next year. It | :17:27. | :17:32.
will make its way through the Yorkshire Dales before finishing in | :17:33. | :17:38.
Hannah gets. Stage two to start the day after in your work. It will then | :17:39. | :17:46.
head west back to York `` Heilig. People hope this could be the moment | :17:47. | :17:52.
for this village. It is really exciting. We have perhaps been too | :17:53. | :17:56.
far north and a lot of people when they visit the Yorkshire Dales. It | :17:57. | :18:01.
needs rediscovering. That is where the legacy will live with the Tour | :18:02. | :18:05.
De France. The owner of the cycle Centre believes people are not aware | :18:06. | :18:10.
of the magnitude of this huge sporting events. It is difficult to | :18:11. | :18:16.
comprehend if you're not a keen cyclist. I think it is sinking in | :18:17. | :18:25.
around here. People are starting to prepare for it. This is the stretch | :18:26. | :18:32.
of the route the cycling group will cover in July. Some people believe | :18:33. | :18:37.
the summer of 2014 will be like the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee | :18:38. | :18:42.
rolled into one. Then add to see if the hype will match the promises. `` | :18:43. | :18:52.
now they will have two C. More excitement to come in sports | :18:53. | :18:58.
News. Paul Collingwood has confirmed he | :18:59. | :19:04.
will retire once his current deal with the 2013 county champions | :19:05. | :19:14.
containing next September. He will coach Scotland this winter and he | :19:15. | :19:19.
will be 38 by then. A pretty good innings. Fit ball now. | :19:20. | :19:23.
Middlesbrough have signed Norwich defender Daniel Ayala on a three | :19:24. | :19:29.
month loan. Tony Mowbray who was sacked as Manager on Monday had the | :19:30. | :19:32.
Spaniard in his sights for some time. He came close to signing the | :19:33. | :19:35.
central defender on transfer deadline day and before the QPR | :19:36. | :19:39.
game. Ayala will go straight into the squad for Friday's match with | :19:40. | :19:42.
Doncaster as Boro try to shore up their defence. | :19:43. | :19:45.
Now, it was a good night for three of our football league teams last | :19:46. | :19:48.
night. Three games, two wins and a draw. There seems to be no stopping | :19:49. | :19:51.
Colin Cooper's Hartlepool who claimed their fourth league victory | :19:52. | :19:54.
in a row and Graham Kavanagh's Carlisle managed to get back on | :19:55. | :19:57.
track as well. Carlisle were determined to get back | :19:58. | :20:01.
to winning ways at MK Dons after a disapopinting weekend which saw them | :20:02. | :20:04.
lose their first game in six under new manager Graham Kavanagh ` who | :20:05. | :20:08.
was sent to the stands by the referee. The home side failed to | :20:09. | :20:11.
make the most of their chances in the first half and that ended up | :20:12. | :20:15.
proving costly when former Dons player Lewis Guy volleyed in his | :20:16. | :20:18.
first league goal for the Cumbrians and ultimately the winner against | :20:19. | :20:21.
his old club. Mark Gillespie protected their first half lead as | :20:22. | :20:26.
MK Dons fought to get back into it. And Carlisle almost made it two late | :20:27. | :20:29.
on, but sub Danny Livesey's shot hit the bar and Kavanagh's side held on | :20:30. | :20:33.
to end the Dons unbeaten home run. There was an upbeat atmosphere at | :20:34. | :20:36.
Victoria Park last night and no wonder ` Hartlepool are League Two's | :20:37. | :20:40.
in form side right now and chalked up their fourth league win in a row | :20:41. | :20:44.
against the other Dons of AFC Wimbledon. When James Poole was | :20:45. | :20:47.
tripped in the area Simon Walton made no mistake from the spot to get | :20:48. | :20:54.
Pools off and running. The visitors levelled the score though with a | :20:55. | :20:58.
penalty of their own in the second half but Colin Cooper's side hit | :20:59. | :21:01.
back soon after when Luke James grabbed his second goal in two games | :21:02. | :21:05.
to head Pools into the lead. In a dominant display, Matty Dolan's low | :21:06. | :21:08.
shot from 25 yards sealed all three points for Hartlepool who now move | :21:09. | :21:12.
up to 14th in the table just three points off the play`off zone. | :21:13. | :21:15.
York City had to settle for point at Chesterfield though ` The Minstermen | :21:16. | :21:19.
must have thought they had the three points in the bag when they went | :21:20. | :21:22.
2`nil up, a long range effort from Luke O'Neill put them ahead at half | :21:23. | :21:26.
time, before Ryan Jarvis headed in their second after the break. But | :21:27. | :21:29.
Armand Gnanduillet pulled one back from the penalty spot before setting | :21:30. | :21:32.
up the Spirites equaliser ` whipping the ball in for substitute Jay | :21:33. | :21:36.
O'Shea to rescue the home side from a third successive loss at the | :21:37. | :21:43.
Proact Stadium. Now he may be a Wigan lad but the | :21:44. | :21:47.
former Gateshead and Whitehaven head coach Steve McCormack has renewed | :21:48. | :21:50.
his links with West Cumbria. That's because he's the man leading | :21:51. | :21:53.
Scotland into the Rugby League World Cup ` with their first two pool | :21:54. | :21:56.
matches being staged at Derwent Park in Workington. McCormack, who's 40, | :21:57. | :22:00.
re`trained as a PE teacher and only coaches now part`time. He feels the | :22:01. | :22:03.
competition, which starts in Cardiff on Saturday, will give the sport in | :22:04. | :22:12.
Cumbria a huge boost. I do not think you can underestimate how important | :22:13. | :22:19.
this is to the area. We will have our base camp in the middle of | :22:20. | :22:24.
Workington. Everybody is stopping us to ask questions about the Scottish | :22:25. | :22:32.
team. It's exactly the same in Whitehaven. This is a fantastic | :22:33. | :22:38.
place to play. He is already known as one of North Yorkshire Police | :22:39. | :22:42.
might best wildlife photographers, but now he has been named one of the | :22:43. | :22:49.
best in the world. At a prestigious awards ceremony, like the Oscars, an | :22:50. | :22:55.
image captured by Steve was selected from entries all over the world. It | :22:56. | :23:00.
will now form part of a touring exhibition which will visit the | :23:01. | :23:07.
North East and Cumbria. For any wildlife photographer it is | :23:08. | :23:10.
the early birds who catches the worm. Steve often starts work at | :23:11. | :23:16.
five in the morning, the best time of day to catch his award`winning | :23:17. | :23:28.
pictures. It is the buzz of being outdoors in a wild place and sitting | :23:29. | :23:33.
for a while quietly like here to see what comes across your path. It is | :23:34. | :23:39.
this unusual image which has brought his talent to the attention of the | :23:40. | :23:44.
world. At an awards night in London, the industry equivalent of | :23:45. | :23:50.
the Oscars, the photograph was chosen out of 46,000 worldwide | :23:51. | :23:54.
entries. Steve is one of just six Britons to be commended. To get this | :23:55. | :24:00.
special moments of the birds offering the flowers to each other, | :24:01. | :24:05.
and the necklace to go round the neck of the bird was exceptional. I | :24:06. | :24:10.
thought it was amazing. People just look at it and think it is truly | :24:11. | :24:14.
special. To see these birds interacting the way they do is | :24:15. | :24:22.
amazing. His interest in wildlife began at the age of ten. Years | :24:23. | :24:27.
later, hundreds of special moments have been captured on his camera. It | :24:28. | :24:34.
can be instant like the bird image or you can spend a lot of time. But | :24:35. | :24:38.
when you capture that special image, you just know that that is the one. | :24:39. | :24:45.
His image is now part of a touring exhibition which will visit Redcar, | :24:46. | :24:51.
Newcastle and Penrith. He is already up and out, searching for that next | :24:52. | :25:03.
magic moments. That shot of that Fox was beautiful. | :25:04. | :25:08.
Incredible. What do you have for is no? | :25:09. | :25:12.
We have had a bit of everything recently. It is one of the quieter | :25:13. | :25:19.
spells that is your cot at the mouth of Redcar. `` that of your court. It | :25:20. | :25:32.
should be dry and the winds light. We should see some blue sky and | :25:33. | :25:42.
sunshine. All change tomorrow. These southerly winds turned Westerly | :25:43. | :25:45.
today. Things brightened up for the afternoon. Quite a few showers and a | :25:46. | :25:51.
fresher feel as the weather came in from this Westerly direction. Still | :25:52. | :25:56.
a few showers around this evening, but they will die away. We're in for | :25:57. | :26:00.
a dry night. Those westerly breezes easing. We could see one or two | :26:01. | :26:07.
missed patches forming. Temperatures much cooler than the Beano the last | :26:08. | :26:12.
few days. There will be one or two spots down as low as five Celsius. | :26:13. | :26:18.
And it in the first thing tomorrow. Early mist should clear quickly. | :26:19. | :26:25.
Patches of cloud around but some decent sunny spells to be had. | :26:26. | :26:32.
Essentially, dry and bright tomorrow. Temperatures peaked at 14 | :26:33. | :26:43.
Celsius. The winds will be lighter, the start of Westerly and turn more | :26:44. | :26:48.
southerly during the day. Make the most of tomorrow while it lasts. A | :26:49. | :26:51.
completely different picture on Friday. This law comes in from the | :26:52. | :26:58.
Atlantic bringing wet and windy weather as we head into the weekend. | :26:59. | :27:07.
But other showery rain to come. Some heavy rain in Cumbria on Friday, | :27:08. | :27:12.
showers on Saturday with sunny spells, showers again on Sunday. | :27:13. | :27:18.
Showers throughout the East. Thank you. A look at the headlines ` | :27:19. | :27:27.
