The former garden of a loner jailed for life for planning a mass murder

at his college has been searched by bomb disposal experts.

Liam Lyburd used to live here. He amassed a number of weapons whilst

here. He had a pipe bomb and some ammunition. He wanted to take

revenge on Newcastle College after he was kicked out in 2012 for bad

behaviour. Liam Lyburd was jailed for life in September 20 15th with a

minimum of eight years after admitting possessing firearms and

bombs. He was found guilty of having them with intent to endanger life.

After a tip-off, bomb disposal experts began searching the Garden

of the property where he left this afternoon. They were investigating a

report that two potentially harm for items may have been buried there. We

did not find out what they were. We were not given any indication about

that. As a precaution, the area was sealed off. The owners of the

address had temporarily been moved. I was beaten to people who are not

allowed into the garden, but there was relief because all has ended

well. Armed police sealed off

a street in South Shields that a man, who claimed he had

a firearm, was making threats. The operation centered

on a house on Moreland Road. Fire and ambulance crews were also

sent out to the property. A negotiator spoke to

shock at what was happening. The witness told the jury, "I just

jumped out of the car and ran off and did not speak to anyone about it

for many years. It was so obvious will quickly what he was doing. It

was out of the blue. I diss wanted to get away. I felt awful. I felt as

if I was the only person assaulted by Mr Gregg. Those quote under

cross-examination, the witness, who separately for people Gregg is

charged with assaulting, denied making up the claim. He said Gregg

assaulted him, no shadow of a doubt. Colin Gregg, described in court as a

wealthy man who helped build up the bakery chain, has also worked as a

teacher and a social worker. He denies nine assaults on four boys
