Good evening. The war in Afghanistan has hit home hard today | :00:06. | :00:11.
in the heart of our county. Especially here in Huddersfield. | :00:11. | :00:14.
Three Huddersfield lads aged 20 and 21, and a 19-year-old from Bradford | :00:14. | :00:19.
were killed along with two others in the same explosion. | :00:19. | :00:22.
As the families friends struggle to take in their tragic news - they | :00:22. | :00:32.
:00:32. | :00:33. | ||
also find time for tributes. He was a legend tours, and everyone that | :00:33. | :00:41.
knew him in. We are heartbroken. Meanwhile - after so many deaths, | :00:41. | :00:45.
there are calls for a fresh debate on the war. Some MPs want it back | :00:45. | :00:48.
on the political agenda. The British Legion say they just want | :00:48. | :00:57.
to help the soldiers. And we have the five-day forecast | :00:57. | :01:07.
:01:07. | :01:13. | ||
The news came through yesterday, but the reality is only just | :01:13. | :01:17.
sinking in. The photographs of the six soldiers that died working | :01:17. | :01:22.
together as a unit in an armoured vehicle in the most dangerous place | :01:22. | :01:26.
on Earth showed us the cost of four. Three came from Huddersfield, | :01:26. | :01:33.
Corporal Jake Hartley aged 20, private Ashley front and aged 20, | :01:33. | :01:39.
private Daniel Woodford, 21, private Christopher Kershaw, 19 | :01:39. | :01:44.
from Bradford, and Daniel Wade, 20 from Warrington. Their Sergeant was | :01:44. | :01:51.
Nigel Coupe, a member of the Duke of Lancaster is. We have reported | :01:51. | :01:56.
on losses before, but never five from the same area. Tonight, we | :01:56. | :02:02.
hear from Bradford, we go to the regiment barracks in Warminster and | :02:02. | :02:07.
urine Huddersfield as well. This is Greenhead Park, this is the war | :02:07. | :02:10.
memorial, it is a focal point for many people. One lady said this | :02:10. | :02:14.
morning if that she had no particular connection with the army | :02:14. | :02:20.
but a total connection with the young men that died. | :02:20. | :02:23.
Proud of their regiment, three young men from Huddersfield who | :02:23. | :02:29.
signed up to serve their country. Weber killed when their Warrior | :02:29. | :02:33.
armoured vehicle detonated a roadside bomb between Lashkar Gar | :02:33. | :02:38.
and Kandahar on Tuesday. They had been in Afghanistan less than one | :02:38. | :02:47.
month. At Anthony front and's passing Out Parade, his mother | :02:47. | :02:51.
decided as the best day of her life. -- at Anthony front and's passing | :02:51. | :02:58.
out at the ceremony. He was a legend to us and all that knew him. | :02:58. | :03:05.
We are heartbroken. Corporal Hartley is said to be named best | :03:05. | :03:13.
recruit after 20 weeks in the army and would have been 21 on Saturday. | :03:13. | :03:19.
This guy that collapse. He would just walk into the room. The whole | :03:19. | :03:27.
room that would light up. He could turn anything until party. Private | :03:27. | :03:32.
Daniel Wilford joined up after leaving school but he left to work | :03:32. | :03:37.
in a supermarket, but he missed it and went back again. He is a hero | :03:37. | :03:41.
in our lives and will be sorely missed. Today, his friends | :03:41. | :03:46.
struggled with the loss. I cannot believe it, even though his and he | :03:46. | :03:53.
has told me, I cannot believe it. - - his and has told me. He was a | :03:53. | :04:03.
:04:03. | :04:04. | ||
best mate. At Private Anthony Frampton's form at school, his head | :04:04. | :04:08.
teacher described him as very popular. He was very popular and | :04:08. | :04:11.
had long lasting friendships that have gone on into the future and he | :04:11. | :04:17.
would be very sadly missed. Afghanistan may be a far-off land | :04:17. | :04:20.
but for three Yorkshire families and their friends, the impact of | :04:20. | :04:24.
Tuesday's events thousands of miles away if we have a lasting impact | :04:24. | :04:31.
much closer to home. The Archbishop of York said | :04:31. | :04:34.
yesterday that the British Army was the best in the world, but losing | :04:34. | :04:39.
so many young men so early on their tour of duty will test that to the | :04:39. | :04:43.
limit. Today, the commanding officer wanted to pay respects, not | :04:43. | :04:48.
collectively, but individually and wanted to speak about each man and | :04:48. | :04:53.
what they had achieved in their career. | :04:53. | :04:57.
Corporal Jake Hartley was known as Jaidee to his friends. He was a | :04:57. | :05:03.
selfless, dedicated leader of men and no doubt feature a sergeant- | :05:03. | :05:11.
major. Private Thomas front and was a fit and carefree soldier. Behind | :05:11. | :05:15.
his cheeky nature was a true and legend among his peers. Private | :05:15. | :05:20.
Daniel Wade had only recently joined this battalion. Been a very | :05:20. | :05:25.
short period, he made a real mark. It is to his great credit Batty | :05:25. | :05:30.
successfully completed his Warrior driving course so early in his | :05:30. | :05:35.
career. Private Christopher Kershaw was one of my fitters soldiers, a | :05:35. | :05:39.
true Yorkshire Warrior, he was a star of the future. Finally, but | :05:39. | :05:44.
certainly not to the least, I come to Private Daniel Wilford, he was | :05:44. | :05:48.
the archetypal Yorkshire infantry soldier. He was quiet, unassuming, | :05:48. | :05:54.
but with bags of character. It has been a sad state. As their brothers | :05:54. | :06:00.
in arms, we remain committed to continue with this mission. They | :06:00. | :06:05.
would want nothing less. What has been truly devastating | :06:05. | :06:08.
about all of this is the age of these young men, especially when | :06:08. | :06:15.
you look at their photographs. Four added the five were aged 20 or 21. | :06:15. | :06:18.
Among those that wanted to remember our friend to did not have the | :06:18. | :06:23.
chance to start his life in one sense with the Leeds rugby legend, | :06:23. | :06:32.
Danny Bravo. He remembered fondly growing up with Anthony Frampton. | :06:32. | :06:39.
He went to school with them? Yes, he was the joker, he was one of the | :06:39. | :06:42.
fun of the guys to have about in your friendship and he made me | :06:42. | :06:51.
laugh a few times. Did he always want to be in the army? I think he | :06:52. | :06:59.
wanted to represent his country, he was heading to Afghanistan at such | :06:59. | :07:04.
a young age, and we respect what he did. When you remember the last | :07:04. | :07:09.
time you saw him, it has only a few weeks ago? He went on Valentine's | :07:09. | :07:15.
Day. Forehead to be such a short time, it's doesn't really sink in | :07:15. | :07:21.
that it happened so fast. How have the friends reacted? They must have | :07:21. | :07:26.
been devastated to hear it. found out yesterday. We were | :07:26. | :07:30.
heartbroken. Speechless. Everyone was pulling together, sending | :07:30. | :07:34.
messages to his Facebook Page and for the family to go through that, | :07:34. | :07:37.
it is not a nice thing to go through. With his family cope with | :07:37. | :07:44.
it? First such a young age, he had not lived his life, so it is harder | :07:44. | :07:49.
for them to deal with. I am sure they can pull together, but it is a | :07:49. | :07:54.
tough one to do with. A nice tribute from you, thank you. | :07:54. | :07:58.
Anthony front and remembered by Danny Bravo. And now, Jason | :07:58. | :08:03.
McCartney, the local MP, so many sad stories, but is your view on | :08:03. | :08:11.
this? These men that tirades, it has made the whole of Huddersfield | :08:11. | :08:17.
into a very sombre place to be. -- these men that have died. We hear | :08:17. | :08:21.
of these men that have passed to wait defending our security in | :08:21. | :08:25.
Afghanistan, and it really hits home when so many of these young | :08:25. | :08:30.
men are from this part of the world. Huddersfield, it is a resilient | :08:30. | :08:35.
place and it needs to be, yes, three people have been affected, | :08:35. | :08:38.
but thousands in that community as well. They will need to come | :08:38. | :08:46.
together somehow and help. Yes, because they are from three little | :08:46. | :08:53.
communities, I went to one of the high schools speaking to one of the | :08:53. | :08:57.
young students there, and on the 11th of a November at the War | :08:58. | :09:01.
Memorial, there were dozens of young people remembering those that | :09:01. | :09:05.
had fallen in the two great wars, but little did they think a few | :09:05. | :09:10.
months later they would be remembering a former pupil. It will | :09:10. | :09:13.
hit the communities hard. Huddersfield has a real tradition | :09:13. | :09:20.
of recruiting for the armed forces, we have had losses before and we | :09:20. | :09:23.
will come together in the community, and we will come together to look | :09:23. | :09:26.
after those families and remember this great sacrifice that these | :09:26. | :09:30.
young men have made on our behalf. You served with the or a have, do | :09:30. | :09:38.
you have a perspective on this? -- with the RAF. Yes, the road goes on | :09:38. | :09:43.
with their comrades, they will want to continue with the nation in | :09:43. | :09:47.
memory of their fallen comrades. We are coming out in 2014 from | :09:47. | :09:50.
Afghanistan, we went in to make sure that Afghanistan was not a | :09:51. | :09:54.
safe haven for terrorists and extremists that want to kill as | :09:54. | :10:00.
here, and their loss was not in vain, let's leave in an ordinary | :10:00. | :10:04.
way and let support their families as much as we can. | :10:04. | :10:11.
Thank you. Back to the studio. It wasn't just Huddersfield's that | :10:11. | :10:15.
woke up to the grim news today. Bradford learnt that one of its | :10:15. | :10:20.
soldiers was among those lost. Chris Kershaw was 19 years old and | :10:20. | :10:26.
described as a true Yorkshire worrier. | :10:26. | :10:29.
Killed serving their country, the faces of soldiers from the | :10:29. | :10:33.
Yorkshire Regiment that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Since | :10:33. | :10:38.
operations began in Afghanistan, 14 young man's lives were cut short. | :10:38. | :10:44.
The last five, in the explosion in Helmand on Tuesday. In Bradford, | :10:44. | :10:47.
thoughts were with the family of Private Christopher Kershaw offer | :10:47. | :10:54.
was just 19 years old. As news spread of his death, people in this | :10:54. | :10:57.
cul-de-sac gathered outside his family home to pay their respects | :10:57. | :11:02.
and to leave flowers. Later, his mother and her sister took time to | :11:02. | :11:07.
read the tributes that were put on the garden fence. I did not want | :11:07. | :11:11.
him to go to Afghanistan, pressed a leaf. It was always in the back of | :11:11. | :11:17.
my mind that he would come back in a wooden box. He said, I am not | :11:17. | :11:22.
that stupid. And like I said, he has come back in a wooden box. | :11:22. | :11:27.
knew there were dangers. He knew the risks. I do not think he fully | :11:27. | :11:30.
understood anything until he lost one of his best mates a few months | :11:30. | :11:36.
ago. Friends and neighbours spoke fondly of Chris today. At when you | :11:36. | :11:43.
were younger, he would pass by Ian is cadet uniform and he was so | :11:43. | :11:48.
proud of himself walking past the house, and he died serving the | :11:48. | :11:54.
country. Everyone is in mourning for him. You know him personally? | :11:55. | :12:01.
My children were brought up with him. It is a tragic loss. We all | :12:01. | :12:05.
grew up with him. It is not nice, because we have known him for so | :12:05. | :12:09.
long. There is a photograph of Chris Kershaw on the garden fence | :12:09. | :12:14.
which has become a shrine to him. Friends have left floral tributes | :12:14. | :12:18.
and messages. The fallen heroes will not be forgotten, we will | :12:18. | :12:21.
honour of the cells that had been taken to the angels in heaven on | :12:22. | :12:28.
this day. And, a true hero never- to-be-forgotten. His commanding | :12:28. | :12:32.
officer described him as a true Yorkshire Warrior, Amanda died | :12:32. | :12:38.
doing the job that he loved. -- a man that died. | :12:38. | :12:42.
Inevitably, after so many deaths, there are questions about the role | :12:42. | :12:47.
of Britain in Afghanistan. Today, the Huddersfield MP called for a | :12:47. | :12:52.
new Commons debate on the military campaign in the country. Yesterday, | :12:52. | :12:56.
we were shocked and stunned to hero of the deaths of six soldiers in | :12:56. | :13:00.
Afghanistan. We have been hard hit in Yorkshire, five of those young | :13:00. | :13:07.
men came from there, three in my own constituency. Is it time for us | :13:07. | :13:11.
to have a serious debate about what is going on in Afghanistan? I think | :13:11. | :13:19.
the house will not want to cut and run, because these men did their | :13:19. | :13:24.
lives for their country, and it is time for full reflection. What | :13:24. | :13:27.
about that suggestion of a new debate? Does the Legion have used | :13:27. | :13:37.
:13:37. | :13:40. | ||
The conflict goes on and we have to support the young men and women who | :13:40. | :13:46.
were out there. You weigh your poppy with pride and many civilians | :13:46. | :13:49.
perhaps served and will serve to the same but this year has been | :13:49. | :13:55.
truly phenomenal. Absolutely incredible. It grows year on year. | :13:55. | :14:00.
We are always astonished by the public support. The public are | :14:00. | :14:04.
making the distinction between their views on the conflict and | :14:04. | :14:07.
supporting us and other military charities on our support of | :14:07. | :14:10.
servicemen and women and their families. They are looking at these | :14:11. | :14:15.
men and women as individuals who might need their help? Absolute | :14:15. | :14:19.
need. Some of these people may need help for the rest of their lives. | :14:19. | :14:22.
We are seeing increasing numbers coming back or injured both | :14:22. | :14:27.
physically and mentally and they require our support and the support | :14:27. | :14:32.
of the communities and families. You know servicemen and work with | :14:32. | :14:35.
them, how important are the tributes from ordinary folk like | :14:35. | :14:42.
the one we have heard today? How important are those messages to | :14:43. | :14:46.
those who serve? They are extremely important. There was nothing worse | :14:46. | :14:50.
than coming back from an operational tour to nothing. I | :14:50. | :14:54.
would urge the public to remember people that of surveying and give | :14:54. | :14:58.
them welcome home parades and think about the losses and the sacrifices | :14:58. | :15:06.
that these young people are making and the strains they are under and | :15:06. | :15:10.
the strains of their families back here in the UK. Thank you very much | :15:10. | :15:18.
for your comments. In other news the BBC has learned that there's a | :15:18. | :15:21.
new plan to try to keep South Yorkshire's Police Helicopter. The | :15:21. | :15:24.
force had been told it must join the new National Police Air Service | :15:24. | :15:26.
which would mean Sheffield's helicopter would be scrapped. But | :15:26. | :15:29.
Councillors have told the Government they're not prepared to | :15:29. | :15:32.
lose it. They've now drawn up a plan to join the new service and | :15:32. | :15:35.
keep their own aircraft. On Friday the authority will discuss if it's | :15:35. | :15:45.
:15:45. | :15:46. | ||
cost effective. A man and woman under arrest in | :15:46. | :15:51.
connection with the murder of Amjad Hussain in January. Another man | :15:51. | :15:55.
under arrest has been released on bail. The victim's mother and | :15:55. | :16:00.
daughter today made further appeals for public help in the case. We are | :16:00. | :16:07.
extremely shocked by this death. He was very kind and hard working. His | :16:08. | :16:17.
:16:18. | :16:20. | ||
death has created a big hole in our lives. | :16:20. | :16:23.
The Liberal Democrats are the latest party to choose their | :16:23. | :16:25.
candidate to fight the Bradford West by-election. She is Jeanette | :16:25. | :16:28.
Sunderland, the leader on the Liberal Democrats on the City | :16:28. | :16:30.
Council. The by-election has been called following the resignation of | :16:30. | :16:33.
the sitting Labour MP Marsha Singh because of ill health. Polling day | :16:33. | :16:36.
is Thursday March 29th. We have shown in Bradford East just what a | :16:36. | :16:42.
difference having a hard-working MP focused on Bradford can make a real | :16:42. | :16:45.
difference to a city like Bradford. He has worked really hard and | :16:45. | :16:52.
spoken out and I want to follow that tradition. | :16:52. | :16:57.
Now let us have some peace and calm Now, when the Kemble piano | :16:57. | :17:00.
manufacturers closed two years ago it was the end of the British-made | :17:00. | :17:03.
piano. Now the instruments are largely mass produced in the Far | :17:03. | :17:06.
East, but in a tranquil spot near Skipton, a Yorkshire company has | :17:06. | :17:08.
spent the last two years creating a piano from traditional materials | :17:08. | :17:18.
:17:18. | :17:20. | ||
and techniques. Heidi Tomlinson It sounds like a dream job, making | :17:20. | :17:26.
and selling pianos in a Yorkshire barn. Adam Cox is reviving an | :17:26. | :17:31.
industry that died out in the UK when the recession bit. You have | :17:31. | :17:34.
some fantastic pieces but they look beautiful but they are not made | :17:34. | :17:40.
clear in the UK? That is right. This one is a German make. This one | :17:40. | :17:47.
is also made in Germany. Setting up a huge workshop means expensive | :17:47. | :17:51.
overheads. A Yorkshire pianos have kept it small. Much of the | :17:51. | :17:56.
intricate work is done by local businesses. This is a craftsman's | :17:56. | :18:01.
co-operative bringing together a number of home-grown specialists to | :18:01. | :18:06.
produce a traditional British sound. Meet the team, there is the string | :18:06. | :18:12.
or. John Spencer is an ex a piano Stringer from Otley. The regulator | :18:12. | :18:17.
is Jackie. She fine tunes the action of the hammer hitting the | :18:17. | :18:22.
string. David Wilson is the cabinet may can also based in the Dales. He | :18:22. | :18:28.
works with Wal-Mart to make a traditional instrument. Finally | :18:28. | :18:38.
:18:38. | :18:39. | ||
there is a musician. Before they are sold the keys need to be played | :18:39. | :18:43.
ferociously to create stability. There is a specific tone that goes | :18:43. | :18:47.
with a British piano. Quite often people like to have a piano similar | :18:47. | :18:50.
to the one they grew up with because that is what they associate | :18:50. | :18:56.
the piano sound with. This company believe their British model can | :18:56. | :18:59.
compete with giants like Yamaha. They admit making music the | :18:59. | :19:09.
:19:09. | :19:10. | ||
traditional way will be a challenge. That is the best of British. | :19:10. | :19:13.
Now, how about this for a challenge? Running 50 miles a day | :19:13. | :19:16.
for 50 days. Sam Boatwright from Silsden is doing it to raise money | :19:16. | :19:20.
for Help for Heroes. He's been training in the Yorkshire Dales and | :19:20. | :19:30.
will start the run in a month's time. | :19:30. | :19:36.
Are you really doing it in 50 days? Yes it is 50 days. So whatever the | :19:36. | :19:44.
weather you will have to do 50 miles. Yes, two and a half 1,000 | :19:44. | :19:50.
miles. You look extremely fit in these pictures. It will be easy! | :19:50. | :19:56.
am doing anything I can to make sure I can do the 50 miles every | :19:56. | :20:01.
day. Are you doing it in a circle? ESI and into the circle, starting | :20:01. | :20:04.
in Blackpool and heading up to Scotland and then going down | :20:04. | :20:08.
through that coast down to Dover and then I will be coming back up | :20:08. | :20:13.
through Wales and back for a celebration. You have somebody with | :20:13. | :20:18.
you? I have a support team and a camper van with me at all times. | :20:18. | :20:25.
They will follow me and I will be where I sleep. If ever there was a- | :20:25. | :20:30.
day, it is today, to explain why you were doing it. It is very dear | :20:30. | :20:34.
to your heart and on a day that we lost six soldiers and we found out | :20:34. | :20:38.
a fiver from our patch. A lot of people are saying it is really | :20:38. | :20:42.
brave that what I am doing but it is nothing compared to what they | :20:42. | :20:47.
have done. They have given their ultimate sacrifice for the country. | :20:47. | :20:51.
People are doing it all the time. You were doing this for Help For | :20:51. | :20:54.
Heroes. I am doing it the Help For Heroes and if anybody can get on | :20:54. | :21:03.
and sponsor the today then surely today is the best day. I have a | :21:03. | :21:10.
website called epic run and you can donate on their. I think you are | :21:10. | :21:14.
wonderful and it is a very poignant reason to be talking to you. | :21:14. | :21:19.
Thank you very much. Good luck to you. I hope you raise a lot of | :21:19. | :21:21.
money. money. | :21:21. | :21:23.
Now I am looking forward to the glorious weekend. | :21:23. | :21:26.
That might be a little bit over the top but it looks quite spring-like. | :21:26. | :21:33.
Let us look at some pictures. This one was taken yesterday. It is in | :21:33. | :21:40.
between the showers. This is a nice one of a meal. That is a lovely | :21:40. | :21:44.
rainbow. We saved the best till last and this one was taken this | :21:45. | :21:54.
:21:55. | :21:56. | ||
morning. It is absolutely fantastic. Keep the pictures coming in to me. | :21:56. | :22:02.
The headliner for tomorrow is a lot of cloud around. There will be | :22:02. | :22:06.
brighter spells at time and some drizzle over the Pennines. A high | :22:06. | :22:10.
pressure will come up from the South and there will be a lot of | :22:10. | :22:15.
dry weather. The weekend looks pleasant. They should be some good | :22:15. | :22:23.
and sunny breaks. The cloud will come and go in the next few hours | :22:23. | :22:27.
and it will be thick enough to produce a few showers. There will | :22:27. | :22:32.
be some spots of rain the and er. That is the way of it for much of | :22:32. | :22:36.
the night. Wed cloudy conditions pushing him from the West. The | :22:36. | :22:41.
highest risk of spots of rain over the Pennines. A further east there | :22:41. | :22:51.
:22:51. | :22:57. | ||
will be a lot of dry weather. These are the sunrise and sunset times. | :22:57. | :23:01.
Tomorrow there will be a generally cloudy day. The cloud will be thick | :23:01. | :23:07.
enough in times, especially over the Pennines and will produce some | :23:07. | :23:11.
drizzle. On the east there will be bright and sunny intervals. Any | :23:11. | :23:16.
drizzle further east will peter out. On the top of the Pennines it will | :23:16. | :23:21.
be quite damp and drizzly at times. Riders spells in eastern areas will | :23:21. | :23:31.
:23:31. | :23:32. | ||
lift the temperatures up. -- brighter spells. There is a lot of | :23:32. | :23:35.
cloud of weekend, especially at first but there will be some sunny | :23:35. | :23:40.
breaks and it will become mild. breaks and it will become mild. | :23:40. | :23:42.
Thank you very much. I think it is very fitting that we return to | :23:42. | :23:46.
Huddersfield now for more on our top storey, the salt is that died | :23:46. | :23:55.
in the bomb blast in Afghanistan. -- soldiers. | :23:55. | :24:00.
We have had raw emotion today with this tragic event. We are now going | :24:00. | :24:07.
to move down to Warminster where the regiment is based. I have seen | :24:07. | :24:15.
a lot of images of their and it is a very moving situation. | :24:15. | :24:19.
It was a few weeks ago that the people in Warminster stood on this | :24:19. | :24:23.
spot at which a fond farewell and a safe journey to the troops leaving | :24:23. | :24:27.
from this barracks. They wished them well on their journey and it | :24:27. | :24:33.
is only in the past 24 hours that it has begun to sink in that six | :24:33. | :24:37.
troops will not be coming home a life of. If you want to know how it | :24:37. | :24:40.
has affected the community here then you need to look no further | :24:40. | :24:44.
than the amount of floral tributes that have been laid here. This time | :24:44. | :24:48.
yesterday there were just a handful and we have seen people coming up | :24:48. | :24:53.
every few minutes today to lay more. It shows that people see the | :24:53. | :24:58.
military and his barracks as being at the very heart of their | :24:58. | :25:01.
community. It is not just the people connected | :25:01. | :25:05.
with the army. It is the people on the outside to have also wanted to | :25:05. | :25:11.
show their respect. Yes, you're absolutely right. It is | :25:11. | :25:18.
not just those 90 troops that have left and there are hundreds more | :25:18. | :25:21.
from these barracks that have to go out to Afghanistan very soon it so | :25:21. | :25:25.
the issue is far more poignant down in Warminster. The candle I pointed | :25:25. | :25:29.
out to you earlier was from the ceremony when the troops left and | :25:29. | :25:33.
the idea was to keep the flame burning and all the troops return | :25:33. | :25:38.
safely home but now the truth is sinking in that six troops will now | :25:38. | :25:45.
not be returning safely home when their tour of duty finishes in the | :25:45. | :25:47.
summer. Will it continue to be the focal | :25:47. | :25:54.
point down there? I think it will. Everybody you talk | :25:54. | :25:56.
to in Warminster is linked to the barracks here and they either know | :25:56. | :26:00.
someone who works here or they are part of a military family | :26:00. | :26:03.
themselves. The very least you can expect is for that feeling of | :26:03. | :26:08.
collective loss and grief to continue here for some time to come. | :26:08. | :26:13.
Thank you very much. A very emotional day in Yorkshire. We want | :26:13. | :26:17.
to leave you with some images of respect from family and from many | :26:17. | :26:21.
people who did not even know the soldiers but they wanted to | :26:21. | :26:27.
appreciate what they have sacrificed. From all of us, good | :26:27. | :26:37.
:26:37. | :26:39. | ||
night. Our loss is very great today. He was the youngest lad in his | :26:39. | :26:44.
battalion to be made a corporal so his career was five staff. He was a | :26:44. | :26:53.
selfless, dedicated leader of men. It gets you. I just came down here | :26:53. | :27:00.
to pay my respect to the lads. is a travesty. It is a sad loss to | :27:00. | :27:06.
the regiment and all the people of Yorkshire. With them all being so | :27:06. | :27:12.
young as well, it is the families that I feel sorry for. When he was | :27:12. | :27:17.
younger he used to pass with his cadet uniform on and he used to be | :27:17. | :27:25.
so proud of himself walking around and he died serving the country. | :27:25. | :27:35.
