into Friday morning and enhance the risk of flooding. That is all | :00:00. | :00:00.
Welcome to Tuesday's Look North. On the programme tonight: | :00:00. | :00:09.
A Look North investigation finds a landmark Yorkshire building left to | :00:10. | :00:17.
rot. Them is the list, I will put a torch | :00:18. | :00:23.
on. A functioning lift, the only way to get to it is down a very dark | :00:24. | :00:26.
corridor. People say it's become a safety | :00:27. | :00:29.
risk. Also tonight: Out training with Team | :00:30. | :00:32.
Sky, but is Sir Bradley Wiggins going to ride the tour in Yorkshire? | :00:33. | :00:35.
And, one of music's biggest voices prepares for a sell`out gig in | :00:36. | :00:44.
Leeds. I am John Newman and I am back in Leeds for one night only. | :00:45. | :00:51.
What a lovely day it turned out to be. Tomorrow does look much more | :00:52. | :00:56.
unsettled. Join me for a detailed forecasts. | :00:57. | :01:01.
Good evening, and welcome to the programme. | :01:02. | :01:06.
It was a flagship project that was designed to underpin Bradford's | :01:07. | :01:09.
regeneration. But, eight years later, and the ?22 million apartment | :01:10. | :01:12.
block called the Gatehaus is quite literally being left to rot. The | :01:13. | :01:17.
people who own the properties say the place is in such a state of | :01:18. | :01:21.
disrepair it's a health and safety risk, and they're losing money | :01:22. | :01:24.
because no`one wants to live there. Spencer Stokes has our top story. | :01:25. | :01:31.
It was meant to be the residential development that would relaunch | :01:32. | :01:37.
urban living in Bradford. Instead, it has become a symbol of urban | :01:38. | :01:44.
decay. Gatehaus opened eight years ago. The flats have been sold to | :01:45. | :01:48.
landlords who are angry that the public areas of the building which | :01:49. | :01:55.
are the responsibility are falling into disrepair. | :01:56. | :01:58.
This is a strange access corridor because there is no lighting. People | :01:59. | :02:02.
have been coming in and out this morning. Here is the list, I will | :02:03. | :02:07.
put a torch on. If such name list, the only way to it is down a very | :02:08. | :02:13.
dark corridor. Later, a tenant arrived, heading for his flat. | :02:14. | :02:17.
Do you feel safe using this corridor? The grand for, no, | :02:18. | :02:22.
especially at night when I go to work. I am the least scared, | :02:23. | :02:30.
thinking someone is waiting to attack. Especially for women cannot | :02:31. | :02:33.
use this. The owners of the apartments have to pay up to ?3000 a | :02:34. | :02:38.
year in maintenance and car parking but they say that money isn't being | :02:39. | :02:44.
reinvested and new tenants are being put off renting. | :02:45. | :02:49.
What was built as a landmark building for Bradford, the feeling | :02:50. | :02:55.
we have now is of frustration that such a nice building hasn't served | :02:56. | :03:05.
its purpose. Gatehaus is managed by Braemar Estates. The representative | :03:06. | :03:11.
arrived while we were filming but he would not interview. He gave a | :03:12. | :03:12.
statement saying: Work that has taken place seems to | :03:13. | :03:30.
have been damaging, like the boarding up of a fire exit. | :03:31. | :03:34.
The Fire Service have carried out checks and issued a warning notice. | :03:35. | :03:41.
I feel like I have been robbed. It is a lot of money. Thousands pass | :03:42. | :03:47.
Gatehaus everyday but few would guess what the interior looks like. | :03:48. | :03:52.
The ?22 million development that hides dilapidation and decay behind | :03:53. | :03:55.
its bold design. Next tonight: The brother of a | :03:56. | :04:03.
pensioner who died just days after she was robbed on her mobility | :04:04. | :04:06.
scooter, has branded the thief "a scumbag". | :04:07. | :04:08.
Pamela Roddis, from Sheffield, was visiting Bridlington on a holiday | :04:09. | :04:11.
when her bag was snatched by a cyclist. She died a few days later | :04:12. | :04:17.
of a brain haemorrhage. Police are now appealing for witnesses. | :04:18. | :04:19.
Charlotte Leeming has been to meet her family. | :04:20. | :04:26.
Captured on CCTV, a male cyclist in the moments he is believed to have | :04:27. | :04:31.
robbed pensioner Pamela Roddis. She was on the promenade in her mobility | :04:32. | :04:38.
scooter. Four days later, she died. The 73`year`old loved her holidays | :04:39. | :04:41.
in Bridlington. For the past ten years, she went there every month. | :04:42. | :04:47.
After the attack, she went straight home to Sheffield. Her brother says | :04:48. | :04:51.
she then became seriously ill and died from a brain haemorrhage in | :04:52. | :04:55.
hospital. She had her bag stolen. She was on a | :04:56. | :05:02.
mobility scooter. She was elderly. An invalid. People don't steal from | :05:03. | :05:07.
invalids and elderly people. That, to me, the lad is a scumbag. That | :05:08. | :05:13.
just should not happen. It ruined the last few days of her life. | :05:14. | :05:18.
Bridlington prides itself on being a traditional resort with a safe and | :05:19. | :05:23.
peaceful reputation. Although police see this as an isolated incident, | :05:24. | :05:28.
they are determined to find the man responsible. Bridlington is a family | :05:29. | :05:37.
friendly tourist location. This is an isolated incident, and we have to | :05:38. | :05:40.
work with the community to catch the culprit. Whilst there is no evidence | :05:41. | :05:44.
of the crime to her death, the family believed the stress of the | :05:45. | :05:48.
best contributed to the rapid deterioration of her health. I want | :05:49. | :05:54.
him found, prosecuted for the offence, and I want him to know what | :05:55. | :06:00.
the effect it has had on my sister. Not that he necessarily caused the | :06:01. | :06:04.
death but it spoiled and ruined the last few days of her life. Until the | :06:05. | :06:09.
suspect is found, the family say they cannot begin to grieve properly | :06:10. | :06:11.
for their loss. Later on Look North: A family's | :06:12. | :06:20.
anguish. What the suspension of children's | :06:21. | :06:23.
heart surgery in Yorkshire meant for baby Julia. | :06:24. | :06:25.
Next tonight: Another development in the battle for control of Leeds | :06:26. | :06:30.
United. The Financial Times is reporting | :06:31. | :06:33.
that the company which sponsors the team's shirts, Enterprise Insurance, | :06:34. | :06:35.
has issued a winding`up petition against the club. It's over an | :06:36. | :06:41.
allegedly unpaid debt. The move is being seen by some as a tactic to | :06:42. | :06:44.
prevent the club's sale to Massimo Cellino, an Italian businessman who | :06:45. | :06:47.
secured an agreement to takeover Leeds on Friday. Tanya's at Elland | :06:48. | :06:54.
Road. A winding`up petition sounds extremely serious? | :06:55. | :07:06.
It could be if taken to the extreme. It is a tactical move by Andrew | :07:07. | :07:10.
Flowers who runs Enterprise Insurance, the shirt sponsors. It | :07:11. | :07:22.
was filed last week. This is a shot across the bowels. It is a debt that | :07:23. | :07:27.
needs to be paid. A debt I would imagine will be paid off before it | :07:28. | :07:31.
gets to the High Court in March if he does not become the of Leeds | :07:32. | :07:35.
United. I would love a chat with Massimo | :07:36. | :07:39.
Cellino. Have we heard anything from him? | :07:40. | :07:45.
He is not a happy man, quite angry at the way things have played out | :07:46. | :07:50.
since Friday. About the deal itself, he says, the money was paid on | :07:51. | :07:52.
Friday. He talked about his relationship | :07:53. | :08:08.
with the fans. He is back in Miami awaiting news to | :08:09. | :08:22.
find out if he will be the buyer but it would appear Andrew Flowers has | :08:23. | :08:28.
been talking to another consortium trying to buy it. We have had no | :08:29. | :08:33.
news from those talks taking place down in London. | :08:34. | :08:35.
Other news now: A court's heard a Leeds woman, who died after being | :08:36. | :08:41.
attacked by two dogs, could have provoked them when she had an | :08:42. | :08:44.
epileptic fit. Emma Bennett suffered serious injuries at her home in East | :08:45. | :08:47.
End Park, and died later in hospital. Her partner Lee Horner has | :08:48. | :08:50.
denied charges under the Dangerous Dogs Act. His solicitor told Leeds | :08:51. | :08:55.
Crown Court that Emma had epilepsy, and a fit could have caused the dogs | :08:56. | :09:01.
to see her as prey. A trial date's been set for April. | :09:02. | :09:04.
Over 1,000 people will lose their jobs at Wakefield Council in the | :09:05. | :09:09.
next two years. The authority has outlined how it plans to save ?61 | :09:10. | :09:12.
million. 1,400 people will have to leave their jobs. It is warning that | :09:13. | :09:19.
many services will be scaled back, with some disappearing altogether. | :09:20. | :09:23.
But people will be paying more for a reduced service. Council tax will | :09:24. | :09:30.
rise by 2%. I have never known it as bad as | :09:31. | :09:35.
this. I have been in local government a long time. I speak to | :09:36. | :09:40.
people from different local authorities and different political | :09:41. | :09:44.
persuasions. They say the same, at the moment, times are really tough. | :09:45. | :09:49.
It is next year I am worried about, ?38 million we have got to find on | :09:50. | :09:51.
top of the 23 this year. A Sheffield ice cream seller, who | :09:52. | :09:58.
imprisoned a vulnerable man and treated him like a slave, is having | :09:59. | :10:01.
his jail sentence reviewed, after a complaint that it was too lenient. | :10:02. | :10:04.
Craig Kinsella, who has learning difficulties, was beaten, made to | :10:05. | :10:07.
live in a garage, and left to scavenge for food. Last month, | :10:08. | :10:10.
44`year`old David Rooke, from Grenoside, was jailed for | :10:11. | :10:12.
six`and`a`half years. But the Attorney General's office is | :10:13. | :10:14.
considering whether that should be increased. | :10:15. | :10:16.
North Yorkshire Conservative MP Anne McIntosh says "ungentlemanly | :10:17. | :10:20.
behaviour" is behind her deselection as a Parliamentary candidate for | :10:21. | :10:23.
2015. Miss McIntosh has been an MP since 1997, but won't be the Tory | :10:24. | :10:26.
candidate at the next election, after losing a ballot of party | :10:27. | :10:30.
members in Thirsk and Malton last week. She's already suggested she | :10:31. | :10:31.
may stand as an independent instead. I am obviously disappointed at the | :10:32. | :10:49.
outcome of the ballot which does seem to be a result of some | :10:50. | :10:54.
ungentlemanly behaviour which has brought great discredit to the | :10:55. | :10:58.
Conservative Party. I am delighted this is now going to be looked into. | :10:59. | :11:00.
Downing Street has announced who will be the Bishop of a brand new | :11:01. | :11:06.
Yorkshire diocese of the Church of England. Nick Baines, who's | :11:07. | :11:08.
currently the Bishop of Bradford, will preside over the new diocese of | :11:09. | :11:12.
West Yorkshire and The Dales. It will be the biggest diocese in the | :11:13. | :11:15.
country, and Bishop Nick will lead almost 500 clergy, and over 650 | :11:16. | :11:21.
churches. Everyone assumes that if you change | :11:22. | :11:26.
something particularly in the Church, it is because you are | :11:27. | :11:29.
running out of money or people. It is not, it is reshaping our cells to | :11:30. | :11:37.
better serve this area as a coherent region. We have three dioceses is | :11:38. | :11:39.
all doing their own thing. It's believed that two fishermen who | :11:40. | :11:46.
were found dead on a boat in Whitby harbour last month died from carbon | :11:47. | :11:49.
monoxide poisoning. Mark Arries and Edward Ide were discovered on their | :11:50. | :11:52.
boat moored off Pier Road on January 15th. An investigation into the | :11:53. | :11:55.
accident found the men had lit a butane gas cooker on the vessel to | :11:56. | :11:59.
keep warm. When they were found next morning, the boat was full of fumes, | :12:00. | :12:03.
and the two fishermen were dead in their bunks. | :12:04. | :12:06.
A campaign to detect and prevent child sexual exploitation has been | :12:07. | :12:11.
launched by the police and councils in South Yorkshire. It follows | :12:12. | :12:14.
severe criticism of how some cases of grooming were handled in | :12:15. | :12:20.
Rotherham. Hoteliers, taxi drivers and teachers are all being asked to | :12:21. | :12:23.
look out for the signs of grooming, and report them. Olivia Richwald | :12:24. | :12:30.
reports. It is a crime that is hard to see | :12:31. | :12:36.
and prevent and only now the sheer extent of child sexual exportation | :12:37. | :12:40.
is becoming clear. In South Yorkshire there have been | :12:41. | :12:43.
high`profile cases. Today was about raising awareness of the warning | :12:44. | :12:47.
signs. If they suddenly come along with | :12:48. | :12:51.
expensive clothing or a new mobile phone. Or, if they are not in the | :12:52. | :12:55.
place they say they are going to be, or are very secretive, those are the | :12:56. | :13:00.
signs that people can spot in a young person. Over the past year, | :13:01. | :13:26.
reported instances increase by 80%. There were over 100 police | :13:27. | :13:28.
investigations. But still one in four victims is thought to come | :13:29. | :13:30.
forward. One of the difficulties is that the victims don't always | :13:31. | :13:32.
consider themselves to be victims. So, they won't always report what is | :13:33. | :13:35.
going on. But other people who are around them do see what is | :13:36. | :13:37.
happening. Today's event was hosted at the Rotherham football stadium. | :13:38. | :13:39.
In 2010, five men were jailed for grooming girls in the town. The | :13:40. | :13:42.
council has been heavily criticised for failing to protect women from | :13:43. | :13:45.
abuse by gangs of men. 14 women are planning to sue the council for | :13:46. | :13:48.
compensation. Today, I spoke to the leader who said the systems here | :13:49. | :13:53.
have changed, but the message from today is that it was everyone's | :13:54. | :13:57.
responsibility to prevent this kind of crime. The message is, see | :13:58. | :14:02.
something, say something. It doesn't matter how daft it is. Because it | :14:03. | :14:08.
may save a child being molested. Among the audience, taxi drivers and | :14:09. | :14:12.
hoteliers are considered the eyes and ears in identifying the crime. | :14:13. | :14:17.
So far, 27 hotels in South Yorkshire have been given training. In the | :14:18. | :14:21.
same way you would have an action plan in case there was a fire, we | :14:22. | :14:27.
see this as the same thing. A publicity campaign is also being | :14:28. | :14:29.
launched in schools. Before seven o'clock: We've been to | :14:30. | :14:45.
speak to music's man of the moment, as he prepares for a sell`out gig in | :14:46. | :14:51.
Yorkshire. We are here to speak to Sir Bradley | :14:52. | :14:55.
Wiggins about his desire to be on the start line of the Tour de France | :14:56. | :14:57.
in Leeds this summer. A BBC documentary will tonight give | :14:58. | :15:05.
the first insight into the impact on families of the decision to suspend | :15:06. | :15:08.
children's heart surgery in Yorkshire. Operations at Leeds | :15:09. | :15:13.
General Infirmary were halted for two weeks last April, following a | :15:14. | :15:16.
controversial row over safety concerns. Tonight's programme | :15:17. | :15:21.
follows baby Julia, as she is rushed by a specialist team from Hull to | :15:22. | :15:24.
Leicester, because the nearest unit in Leeds was closed. Our health | :15:25. | :15:27.
correspondent Jamie Coulson has the story. | :15:28. | :15:36.
March 2013, and baby Julia urgently needs surgery because of a defective | :15:37. | :15:43.
heart. In the last week, she has nearly died four times. But the | :15:44. | :15:46.
distance she will now have to travel for help has unexpectedly doubled. | :15:47. | :15:52.
Surgery at a children's heart unit in Leeds is suspended. The | :15:53. | :15:56.
suspension of surgery at the LGI in a row over safety means all children | :15:57. | :16:00.
who need a heart operation must now go elsewhere. Instead of travelling | :16:01. | :16:05.
from Hull Royal infirmary to Leeds, baby Julia must make her way to | :16:06. | :16:12.
Leicester. But, before she can set off, her oxygen levels drop and she | :16:13. | :16:18.
becomes seriously ill. For her parents who are Polish, it is an | :16:19. | :16:23.
extremely worrying time. TRANSLATION: We talked about the | :16:24. | :16:27.
fact we needed to prepare ourselves for the worst. The situation was so | :16:28. | :16:31.
critical we did not think Julia would recover. Once stabilised, | :16:32. | :16:36.
Julia begins her journey to Leicester but her fragile condition | :16:37. | :16:40.
is of serious concern. She was very sick. Both myself and `` and her | :16:41. | :16:51.
parents were concerned we wouldn't make it to hospital. Julia Nassima | :16:52. | :16:54.
Saifi makes it to hospital where doctors wait before operating. She | :16:55. | :16:58.
eventually has her surgery successfully one month later. | :16:59. | :17:04.
TRANSLATION: Everything is OK. We really love her and we are really | :17:05. | :17:09.
happy the whole story ended the way it did. The story has a happy ending | :17:10. | :17:14.
and, for the first time, provides an insight into what the suspension of | :17:15. | :17:17.
surgery at Leeds meant for one family. | :17:18. | :17:19.
Our health correspondent Jamie Coulson joins us now. This was a | :17:20. | :17:25.
huge story back in April, with lots of claims and counterclaims about | :17:26. | :17:29.
death rates. Is this all behind us now? | :17:30. | :17:34.
Yes and no. The suspension of children's heart surgery in these | :17:35. | :17:37.
triggered a review of how the unit was run. Within two weeks, they | :17:38. | :17:42.
deemed it was safe and surgery resumed. NHS England also wanted to | :17:43. | :17:47.
go into more detail about the issues raised. Namely, whistle`blower | :17:48. | :17:53.
surgeons at another unit, how complaints were handled, and they | :17:54. | :17:58.
wanted to go through the records of every child who had died at the unit | :17:59. | :18:03.
over the last three years. That was supposed to report back by autumn | :18:04. | :18:08.
but we haven't had that. Until we get it, we can't draw a line under | :18:09. | :18:15.
the saga. Where are we, in terms of a final decision about children's | :18:16. | :18:20.
heart surgery at the LGI? The wider review of children's heart | :18:21. | :18:27.
surgery was torpedoed by the Health Secretary because it was not deemed | :18:28. | :18:31.
fit for purpose. He ordered a new review being carried out by NHS | :18:32. | :18:36.
England. They set themselves a date of July this year to come up with a | :18:37. | :18:42.
final decision. We are now looking at early 2015. There is an awful lot | :18:43. | :18:46.
of work to do on this review and it is extremely complicated. | :18:47. | :18:50.
You can watch the full story on BBC Two, at 8pm tonight. | :18:51. | :18:53.
It's do or die in the FA Cup tonight for Sheffield United, as they face | :18:54. | :18:59.
Premier League Fulham in a fourth round replay. The first leg finished | :19:00. | :19:04.
1`1 at Bramall Lane nine days ago. Blades manager Nigel Clough says | :19:05. | :19:07.
they'll do their best to get through to the last 16, but his priorities | :19:08. | :19:16.
for the season are clear. It will mean nothing unless we start | :19:17. | :19:20.
winning in the league. The last thing we want is a cup run but be at | :19:21. | :19:30.
the bottom in the relegation zone. A few people say they wouldn't `` Babe | :19:31. | :19:39.
would `` wouldn't swap it, but we need to win in the league. | :19:40. | :19:43.
With just five months to go till the start of the Tour de France, and the | :19:44. | :19:49.
king of cycling Sir Bradley Wiggins has spoken about his excitement at | :19:50. | :19:52.
riding in Yorkshire. He was taking part in winter training with Team | :19:53. | :19:56.
Sky in Majorca. And our Tour de France correspondent Matt Slater | :19:57. | :20:02.
caught up with him. Having missed last year's Tour de | :20:03. | :20:07.
France through injury, Sir Bradley Wiggins wasn't taking any chances. | :20:08. | :20:12.
Even if it meant taking some of the clothing off again half an hour | :20:13. | :20:16.
later. This is where his road begins. It certainly beats the A64 | :20:17. | :20:23.
in February. But is he looking forward to Yorkshire this summer? I | :20:24. | :20:27.
would love to be there. It has been my motivation, training all winter, | :20:28. | :20:32.
training last summer, watching it on the telly. I would love to be part | :20:33. | :20:38.
of the team, especially starting in Yorkshire this year. The crowds in | :20:39. | :20:41.
the first few days, we all know what to expect. It will be great to be | :20:42. | :20:48.
part of it. Born in Belgium but made in London, Wiggins is a northerner | :20:49. | :20:53.
these days. When he isn't enjoying the winter sun in Majorca, he can be | :20:54. | :20:57.
spotted by Dean on the wrong side of the Pennines. Honorary Lancastrian? | :20:58. | :21:05.
I don't venture much into Yorkshire much these days unless I have two! | :21:06. | :21:09.
If you have two for the start of the Tour de France, it is going to be | :21:10. | :21:14.
fantastic. They will put a great show on. The roads over there, it is | :21:15. | :21:20.
a Scalextric track for cyclists. Some real famous climbs locally | :21:21. | :21:27.
among the cycling fraternity. I think they deserve it. An incredible | :21:28. | :21:31.
couple of days. The end of another Team Sky training ride. With five | :21:32. | :21:39.
months to go until the start, things are starting to heat up. At least, | :21:40. | :21:42.
they are in Majorca. He's just 23, but is a musician with | :21:43. | :21:52.
a string of hits behind him, and a number of Brit Award nominations. | :21:53. | :21:55.
Not bad for a man whose childhood ambition was to become a mechanic. | :21:56. | :21:58.
John Newman, from Settle, is the latest success story to come out of | :21:59. | :22:02.
Leeds College of Music. His debut album, Tribute, went straight to | :22:03. | :22:05.
number one, and he's back in the city for one night only, performing | :22:06. | :22:09.
at the O2 Academy, on his latest UK tour. We caught up with him earlier. | :22:10. | :22:40.
Number one in the UK, number two in the US, to Brit nominations, not bad | :22:41. | :22:48.
for a lad from settled. It's all right! It is a good start to the | :22:49. | :22:55.
career. Next year is exciting. It started off really well. It is a | :22:56. | :23:00.
year that I am getting ready to become an artist. It is important to | :23:01. | :23:05.
me to keep selling records and have longevity. I have that constantly on | :23:06. | :23:11.
my mind. He left school wanting to become a car mechanic. Here you are | :23:12. | :23:14.
having all this success. How did that happen? I was lucky. I opened | :23:15. | :23:23.
up my folder of sentimental things. When I was leaving school, it said, | :23:24. | :23:28.
what you want to do in 20 years. It said, have my own car garage. Well, | :23:29. | :23:35.
I messed up there somewhere! I was studying mechanics. I found myself | :23:36. | :23:42.
in the back of the class, switching off. My music had slowly started | :23:43. | :23:46.
coming in from being a hobby to taking over my life. You are back in | :23:47. | :23:52.
Leeds for one night only. Does it feel weird coming back to the city | :23:53. | :23:56.
where you studied music? I keep saying it to everyone, this is the | :23:57. | :24:06.
one left to do. The amount of times I sat on the balcony and watched | :24:07. | :24:15.
artists and thought, one day. These sports personality at the arena. | :24:16. | :24:20.
That must have been a big moment. It was pretty incredibly. It felt like | :24:21. | :24:25.
my life had come together. You write, produce, write your own | :24:26. | :24:30.
scripts for your videos. You style yourself. You can possibly change a | :24:31. | :24:35.
fan belt on your tour bus! How important is it that you are across | :24:36. | :24:39.
all that? I want to keep hold of my career. By 2014, this feels like an | :24:40. | :24:51.
important year, to get it right. You know all these artists have | :24:52. | :24:55.
their essentials they take on tour. John Newman has a life`size table | :24:56. | :24:57.
tennis table. Time now for the weather. | :24:58. | :25:16.
Let me show you a few pictures that came in over the last 24 hours. | :25:17. | :25:25.
Signs of spring. Thank you for that. This was taken today, look at the | :25:26. | :25:29.
sky, plenty of sunshine around. There is a lot of rain to come in | :25:30. | :25:34.
the next few days. And this sunrise. Keep the pictures coming in. | :25:35. | :25:45.
There is a new blog which details how wet it has been in January. | :25:46. | :25:51.
There will be a test for the river network in the next few days. | :25:52. | :25:56.
Tomorrow sees rain showers spreading in from the south`west. Look at this | :25:57. | :26:01.
weather charts, the first area of low pressure bringing rain. This | :26:02. | :26:05.
feature could come up the Thursday night. And Saturday morning. Some | :26:06. | :26:12.
very unsettled weather. The first weather system is already into | :26:13. | :26:16.
western parts of Britain. Not too bad a day to day but the clouds | :26:17. | :26:21.
thickening. One or two showers this evening. Otherwise, dry. The winds | :26:22. | :26:27.
pick up. A pretty wet night right across Yorkshire, North | :26:28. | :26:31.
Nottinghamshire and the North Midlands. It will ease off at dawn, | :26:32. | :26:37.
temperatures down to three Celsius. The wind will be strong along the | :26:38. | :26:47.
coast. The main body of overnight rain into | :26:48. | :26:54.
the North Sea. A few showers, some drier spells. Then, late morning, | :26:55. | :27:00.
showers and longer outbreaks of rain. Some dry spells in between but | :27:01. | :27:08.
not too many. The top afternoon temperatures, a windy day, up to | :27:09. | :27:18.
eight Celsius. About average. Further ahead, Thursday looks | :27:19. | :27:22.
brighter. Eastern areas might be dried but there will be showers | :27:23. | :27:26.
further west. More heavy rain on Thursday night. A wet start to | :27:27. | :27:32.
Friday. Then, more rain on Saturday morning. Relentless. | :27:33. | :27:35.
That's all from us. Do join us after the ten o'clock news. Have a good | :27:36. | :27:39.
evening. Goodbye. | :27:40. | :27:43. |
