Welcome to Friday's Look North. Tonight, trying to fulfil a final | :00:00. | :00:07.
wish. The Leeds family forced to pay double to bury their mother next to | :00:08. | :00:11.
her daughter, because she no longer lived in the city. For a person who | :00:12. | :00:23.
had lived 80% of her life or even more in the Leeds area, to be denied | :00:24. | :00:31.
a funeral at a certain cost, it is disgusting. We investigate whether | :00:32. | :00:34.
the policy is common practice. Also tonight, welcome but only if | :00:35. | :00:38.
you pay twice. A theatre changes its policy after telling a wheelchair | :00:39. | :00:41.
user they'll also charge for his carer. | :00:42. | :00:44.
At the mercy of the Atlantic, we speak to the Yorkshire rower who's | :00:45. | :00:47.
braved 3,000 miles and 40 foot waves on very little sleep. | :00:48. | :00:54.
All of us saw some sunshine today, this was the view over the Hope | :00:55. | :01:01.
Valley this afternoon and we are looking at more unsettled weather. I | :01:02. | :01:05.
will be back later with all the details. | :01:06. | :01:14.
First tonight, how much should you have to pay to carry out the dying | :01:15. | :01:20.
wishes of a loved one? A family from Leeds say they're appalled at being | :01:21. | :01:23.
asked to pay double the going rate to bury their mother next to her | :01:24. | :01:27.
daughter in Morley Cemetery because she spent the last months of her | :01:28. | :01:30.
life being cared for outside the district. Well, burial pricing and | :01:31. | :01:35.
policy does seem to be a bit of a postcode lottery in our region. In | :01:36. | :01:39.
Sheffield, it costs ?740 and there is no extra charge for those living | :01:40. | :01:43.
outside the city at the time of their death. That policy also | :01:44. | :01:47.
applies in Kirklees where you'll pay ?770 irrespective of where you die. | :01:48. | :01:53.
York Council doesn't offer any burials. A cremation costs ?777 and | :01:54. | :01:59.
you won't be charged extra if you passed away elsewhere. In Leeds, | :02:00. | :02:05.
however, you'll pay ?905 to bury an adult but, if they die outside of | :02:06. | :02:08.
the city boundaries, that doubles to ?1,810. Ian White reports. | :02:09. | :02:23.
That's my wife, over there. David Johnson shows me the place in Morley | :02:24. | :02:27.
Cemetery with his mother`in`law, Bessie Richardson will be buried | :02:28. | :02:32.
next Thursday. The plot was secured after her daughter Yvonne, David's | :02:33. | :02:38.
wife, died from cancer in 1987. Her wish was to be buried in Morley | :02:39. | :02:43.
Cemetery. Her mother was buried in Morley Cemetery so we have been | :02:44. | :02:46.
keeping the family as close as we can. Bessie Richardson spend most of | :02:47. | :02:50.
her life living and working in Leeds but when she became less mobile in | :02:51. | :02:56.
2002, she moved to Liversedge to live with relatives. She died on to | :02:57. | :03:01.
a 6th January after suffering a heart attack. Leeds City Council | :03:02. | :03:06.
normally charges ?905 in internment fees but they've told David the | :03:07. | :03:09.
family will have to pay double that to bury her simply because she moved | :03:10. | :03:14.
out of Leeds for the last few years of her life. For a person who had | :03:15. | :03:20.
lived 80% of her life, maybe more, in the Leeds area to be denied a | :03:21. | :03:28.
funeral at a certain cost, it is disgusting. In a letter to the | :03:29. | :03:33.
family, Leeds City Council's bereavement manager said it is their | :03:34. | :03:38.
policy that all modern Leeds relatives will be subject to double | :03:39. | :03:41.
internment fees and would only waive these costs for people who have | :03:42. | :03:44.
lived in needs for the last five years prior to their death. At a | :03:45. | :03:50.
time to be told that, it is heart`wrenching. We have got to go | :03:51. | :03:54.
with it and we will celebrate her life next Thursday. Leeds City | :03:55. | :03:59.
Council says the policy remains and is commonplace amongst other large | :04:00. | :04:04.
cities, such as Nottingham, Birmingham and Liverpool. David's | :04:05. | :04:09.
family need to find ?1810. Adam Heath from the National | :04:10. | :04:12.
Association of Funeral Directors says burial policies vary greatly | :04:13. | :04:22.
according to where you live. It happens in some places, it doesn't | :04:23. | :04:26.
in others. In Sheffield where I am from, it doesn't happen, there is no | :04:27. | :04:32.
extra charge. But in Leeds it does. So, each area, each individual | :04:33. | :04:38.
place, has its own policy. And what is the point of it? Is it because we | :04:39. | :04:42.
are running short of burial space or is it a way of making money? Who | :04:43. | :04:47.
knows in this case but some areas will do it to prevent people from | :04:48. | :04:51.
coming to their area, they want to discourage people from doing that. | :04:52. | :04:55.
They might even have a blanket ban on it. Some places will do it to | :04:56. | :05:01.
make money. Each one is taken on its own merit in smaller organisations. | :05:02. | :05:08.
But in big organisations, it is difficult for them to discern who is | :05:09. | :05:12.
a valid case and who isn't. It doesn't seem very fair, it seems | :05:13. | :05:18.
quite harsh. Again, I don't know the ins and outs of it, but it does seem | :05:19. | :05:24.
harsh to me that this particular case, without looking at it in | :05:25. | :05:27.
depth, it does seem a little harsh to me. | :05:28. | :05:29.
Next tonight, Bradford is on track to become a major shopping | :05:30. | :05:32.
destination, according to retail experts. Building work at the city's | :05:33. | :05:34.
long`awaited Westfield Centre got under way just over a month ago. | :05:35. | :05:38.
It's currently the only shopping centre building project in the whole | :05:39. | :05:42.
of the UK, and it's predicted once it opens it will propel Bradford | :05:43. | :05:45.
into fourth place in Yorkshire behind Leeds, Sheffield and | :05:46. | :05:55.
Meadowhall. Here's Spencer Stokes. The long wait is over and finally | :05:56. | :05:58.
things are happening at the Westfield side. Builders had been | :05:59. | :06:02.
making a big hole a bit bigger over the last six weeks, ready for the | :06:03. | :06:06.
arrival of steelwork. There is three cranes... It's not what most hotel | :06:07. | :06:14.
managers would want their guests to see but this man doesn't mind. He | :06:15. | :06:18.
had to look at an empty construction site for 10`year 's. It is the icing | :06:19. | :06:25.
on the cake, though redevelopment of Bradford city centre is why we built | :06:26. | :06:28.
by hotel here. It has been very much delayed. It will enhance the offer | :06:29. | :06:34.
we have on the hotel, the capital investment in the hotel will | :06:35. | :06:39.
continue, and it is great for the city. Westfield say their aim is to | :06:40. | :06:44.
have 600,000 square feet of shopping centre open for Christmas 2015 which | :06:45. | :06:49.
would turn Bradford into Yorkshire's biggest destinations. | :06:50. | :06:55.
Bradford is in 11th place in Yorkshire but the new centre would | :06:56. | :07:00.
lift it to fourth behind Leeds, Meadowhall and Sheffield. Our | :07:01. | :07:05.
experience of working with companies like Westfield is they tend to | :07:06. | :07:09.
deliver. They have got commitments from some of the retailers, which is | :07:10. | :07:14.
the catalyst for making these things happen. The centre is 50% to let and | :07:15. | :07:20.
big names have signed up, including Marks Spencer, WH Smith, River | :07:21. | :07:25.
Island and Sainsbury's. The main anchor tenant will be Debenhams. In | :07:26. | :07:29.
the city that used to be home to Busby 's and Brown and muff, | :07:30. | :07:34.
Bradford is once again getting a department store. There is a much | :07:35. | :07:38.
loved names that disappeared in the 80s, the start of the city's | :07:39. | :07:43.
decline. Today, though, there is a more optimistic mood. Now that it is | :07:44. | :07:47.
starting, it is going to get better. You can see something is | :07:48. | :07:50.
happening, so you know that something is happening. And it is | :07:51. | :07:57.
going to change. I won't have to go to Leeds to go shopping. Some fear | :07:58. | :08:04.
that this shop opening might lead to other shops closing. But, for now, | :08:05. | :08:10.
the 10`year wait is over. Let's hope so. My mum used to work | :08:11. | :08:16.
at Busby's. Quite a few years ago. But to see it on the move. `` had to | :08:17. | :08:20.
see it. Later on Look North. All the sport, | :08:21. | :08:25.
plus, we catch up with the slopestyle skier who's tipped to be | :08:26. | :08:28.
one of Britain's best hopes for an Olympic medal. | :08:29. | :08:30.
There are calls tonight for York College to say sorry for the | :08:31. | :08:34.
mistakes which led to the death of Lydia Bishop, the little girl who | :08:35. | :08:37.
died on her first day at its nursery. Yesterday, nursery | :08:38. | :08:40.
assistant Sophee Redhead was cleared of all blame for the death of the | :08:41. | :08:44.
three year old but the jury found the college had failed to ensure the | :08:45. | :08:48.
safety of children in its care. Now a mother whose children went to the | :08:49. | :08:51.
same nursery says the college should apologise. Here's our crime | :08:52. | :08:57.
correspondent John Cundy. Claire Gibbs children, Laurence and | :08:58. | :09:02.
Alila, or at the York College nursery, the day that Lydia Bishop | :09:03. | :09:07.
tragically died, strangled by a rope wrongly left on a slide. Blair says | :09:08. | :09:12.
shocked parents like herself were kept in the dark about what had | :09:13. | :09:16.
happened. When the college nursery shut, that supports stopped. We had | :09:17. | :09:22.
a message to say come and collect your belongings from reception. I | :09:23. | :09:25.
turned up, there was a carrier bag for each of my kicks and that was | :09:26. | :09:31.
it. The York College shut after the tragedy and it will never reopen and | :09:32. | :09:36.
the college faces fines of tens of thousands of pounds after a jury | :09:37. | :09:40.
found the nursery had failed to ensure the safety of children in | :09:41. | :09:46.
their daily care. There is no apology to Lydia's family or the | :09:47. | :09:51.
staff, or the parents and the children. And I am very angry with | :09:52. | :09:57.
the college for that. Sophee Redhead was cleared yesterday by a jury of | :09:58. | :10:01.
any blame in connection with Lydia Bishop's death. I don't think she | :10:02. | :10:05.
should have been held accountable for what happened that day. Somebody | :10:06. | :10:10.
else didn't do their job properly. And a little girl lost her life was | :10:11. | :10:15.
the result. Does it frightened me you to think that could have been | :10:16. | :10:21.
your son? Absolutely. That is why I am angry with the college because | :10:22. | :10:24.
those procedures were ignored and ignored. In a statement, the college | :10:25. | :10:29.
replied... Claire's sympathies lie with Lydia | :10:30. | :10:55.
Bishop's family but she feels there are so many questions unanswered | :10:56. | :10:58.
about what Rooney happened that tragic September day. `` what really | :10:59. | :11:03.
happened that tragic September day. More news now and the former | :11:04. | :11:07.
Rotherham MP Denis MacShane has been released from jail. He was given a | :11:08. | :11:10.
six`month sentence for expenses fraud just before Christmas. The | :11:11. | :11:12.
judge said he'd "deliberately created misleading and deceptive | :11:13. | :11:14.
invoices." The former Europe Minister left Brixton Prison this | :11:15. | :11:21.
morning. I have been well treated by the prisoners. It has been a | :11:22. | :11:26.
humbling, rewarding, enriching experience. I've lost weight, I am | :11:27. | :11:31.
fitter than I have been for the last ten years. And I'm glad to get back | :11:32. | :11:35.
to see my children, family and friends. | :11:36. | :11:37.
A decision to shift millions of pounds worth of European Development | :11:38. | :11:39.
funding away from South Yorkshire has been quashed by the High Court. | :11:40. | :11:43.
A judge ruled that the government had used "flawed" methods to decide | :11:44. | :11:47.
how to share out money given to the UK for investment in infrastructure | :11:48. | :11:50.
over the next six years. South Yorkshire had been allocated a | :11:51. | :11:54.
fraction of the amounts it expected. The government is being asked to | :11:55. | :11:57.
look again at how it distributes the funding. | :11:58. | :12:00.
An investigation which followed a woman being bitten by a police dog | :12:01. | :12:03.
in Sheffield has concluded the dog handler was not at fault. Police | :12:04. | :12:06.
were called to reports of a disturbance on Fife Street in | :12:07. | :12:10.
Wincobank in August last year. The injured woman wasn't part of the | :12:11. | :12:13.
incident. The investigation by South Yorkshire Police and the Independent | :12:14. | :12:16.
Police Complaints Commission says the decision to use a dog during a | :12:17. | :12:21.
chase was correct. No further action will be taken against the officer | :12:22. | :12:25.
involved. It was the last day at work in | :12:26. | :12:29.
Northallerton today for 350 staff at the Rural Payments Agency. The | :12:30. | :12:32.
agency, which administers European grants to farmers, is closing the | :12:33. | :12:37.
Northallerton office. 250 staff will transfer to York, with the rest | :12:38. | :12:42.
taking voluntary redundancy. The government says the change will save | :12:43. | :12:45.
taxpayers' money, but unions are concerned. | :12:46. | :12:51.
The Barbican Theatre in York has been forced to change its policy on | :12:52. | :12:55.
free tickets for the carers of disabled people, after a legal | :12:56. | :13:01.
challenge from a man in Wetherby. After being told he would have to | :13:02. | :13:05.
pay full price for both himself and his carer, Doug Paulley threatened | :13:06. | :13:08.
to take legal action. The company that runs the theatre has now | :13:09. | :13:11.
changed its policy. We sent our reporter Owen Walker, who uses a | :13:12. | :13:21.
wheelchair himself, to investigate. Like everyone, Doug Paulley enjoys a | :13:22. | :13:25.
night out in the theatre and when he went to the Barbican last year, he | :13:26. | :13:31.
went on a trip. However, when they tried to get tickets, they | :13:32. | :13:34.
discovered it would cost them much more than they thought. I need a | :13:35. | :13:39.
carer, people in the home need a carer even more than me and we | :13:40. | :13:42.
wouldn't have been able to attend without them. We would have had to | :13:43. | :13:48.
have paid twice, ?25 a ticket, we would have ended up paying 50 quid | :13:49. | :13:53.
because we need carers. Whilst this seemed unusual, I wanted to see what | :13:54. | :14:00.
other venues did. I went to the West Yorkshire Playhouse to see how they | :14:01. | :14:04.
would charge me. I just bought these two tickets from the West `` from | :14:05. | :14:11.
the Playhouse. Mine cost money pounds but I carer's was free | :14:12. | :14:15.
because the theatre recognises the fact I am responsible for his | :14:16. | :14:20.
expenses when he is working and this is the same at most theatres and | :14:21. | :14:25.
cinemas across Yorkshire. Doug is no stranger to challenging the nation. | :14:26. | :14:32.
He successfully sued a bus company last year and didn't hesitate to sue | :14:33. | :14:39.
the Barbican. But they backed down. In a statement, they said it was | :14:40. | :14:45.
their normal policy to offer a discounted price ticket to carers | :14:46. | :14:50.
but when Doug wanted the tickets, they were unable to action the | :14:51. | :14:53.
policy. Now they say they are committed to it everyone and as such | :14:54. | :14:58.
they have clarified the Odyssey. That means that Doug and his carer | :14:59. | :15:03.
can now go to the theatre for the price of one ticket. They are a huge | :15:04. | :15:09.
company and, so, we hope that other venues that don't currently have | :15:10. | :15:11.
this policy will follow this excellent example. It's sad it took | :15:12. | :15:19.
so much for this to happen but brilliant that they made this | :15:20. | :15:21.
change. He's celebrating his victory with a trip to the Barbican later | :15:22. | :15:27.
this year. A fascinating story. | :15:28. | :15:30.
Before seven o'clock, all the sport plus we meet a man up for a | :15:31. | :15:32.
challenge! The rower who battled 40 foot waves | :15:33. | :15:36.
to make it 3,000 miles across the Atlantic and straight here to the | :15:37. | :15:37.
studio. Let's have some sport now. And I'm a | :15:38. | :15:48.
bit disappointed to see that Oggy hasn't got his skis or his snazzy | :15:49. | :15:51.
snowboard with him! Could you not fit them in your bag today? | :15:52. | :15:57.
Can you imagine me pedalling through the rush hour on my bike with a pair | :15:58. | :16:01.
of skis on my back was Mac dangerous sport! I've never skied in my life, | :16:02. | :16:08.
actually. The wind Olympics got under way this afternoon with the | :16:09. | :16:11.
opening ceremony in the Russian city of Sochi. One of Britain's best | :16:12. | :16:15.
hopes for a medal is from Sheffield, the very likeable slopestyle skier, | :16:16. | :16:18.
James Woods. He started out on the dry slope at the Sheffield Ski | :16:19. | :16:23.
Village. Next week, he's aiming for Olympic gold in a spectacular | :16:24. | :16:26.
discipline, where the goal is to do the most difficult tricks, as high | :16:27. | :16:31.
up as possible. Joe Inwood has more. You'd think when you spend your life | :16:32. | :16:35.
doing this, nothing could take your breath away. But for James Woods, as | :16:36. | :16:42.
he arrives at Saatchi, he knows the size of the challenge and | :16:43. | :16:47.
opportunity. I appreciate how lucky I am with everything falling into | :16:48. | :16:53.
place. The mountains are outstanding! If there's one man who | :16:54. | :16:57.
can take them on, it is James. The`year`old from Sheffield is the | :16:58. | :17:02.
best at what he does and what he does but stop. `` and what he | :17:03. | :17:10.
does... Well, think about skateboard tricks performed on the side of the | :17:11. | :17:14.
mountain and you're still quite not there. But the slope `` but it is | :17:15. | :17:23.
now an Olympic sport. This is the Olympics, it's the big one but I've | :17:24. | :17:27.
done the biggest competition of my life a hundred times. Every single | :17:28. | :17:31.
one is the biggest competition of your life. So there is no real | :17:32. | :17:37.
change. One thing that has changed, the place where it all began. | :17:38. | :17:42.
Sheffield Ski Village, his spiritual home. Now it is destroyed. It is | :17:43. | :17:49.
pretty heart`wrenching, if I'm honest. Loosely, I'd heard about it, | :17:50. | :17:57.
but this is my first time here. First time back. It is | :17:58. | :18:02.
gut`wrenching. It was the lessons he learnt here that turned him from | :18:03. | :18:05.
this... To this. And brought him right to the peak. I'd really like | :18:06. | :18:11.
to go and put down a really good result. And give people the reason | :18:12. | :18:18.
to flick on the TV and just created that of bars about it. I know that I | :18:19. | :18:23.
am capable, and I know that I feel good about what I do. I am at the | :18:24. | :18:29.
top of my game. Next week, he will be at the top of the Krasna Poliana | :18:30. | :18:37.
mountains with a chance to prove it. Good luck to James Wood in such a. | :18:38. | :18:40.
The new Super League season is almost upon us. It kicks off tonight | :18:41. | :18:44.
when Huddersfield Giants travel to face reigning champions Wigan. But | :18:45. | :18:48.
all of our other clubs have another week to wait for their big launch. | :18:49. | :18:51.
That's because tonight's opener has been brought forward to accommodate | :18:52. | :18:54.
Wigan's World Club Championship commitments. | :18:55. | :18:56.
So, the Giants will have a big audience to show just how ready they | :18:57. | :19:00.
are, to go for the big prize at Old Trafford. Remember that, this | :19:01. | :19:03.
season, there's the added threat of relegation for the weakest two | :19:04. | :19:06.
teams. But having finished top of the ladder at the end of last year's | :19:07. | :19:09.
regular fixtures, Huddersfield are aiming high again. I think the | :19:10. | :19:19.
belief is rife. It is me and my staff, all our players, we know we | :19:20. | :19:22.
are capable of something special but now we need to prove it. You have to | :19:23. | :19:27.
put that into action. The proposed takeover at Leeds | :19:28. | :19:30.
United by the Italian businessman Massimo Cellino has taken a | :19:31. | :19:34.
significant step forward. Leeds have confirmed that contracts have been | :19:35. | :19:37.
exchanged on a deal for Cellino to buy a majority stake in the club. | :19:38. | :19:42.
The takeover still has to be rubber`stamped by the Football | :19:43. | :19:44.
League. But that's something they can't do yet, because the league | :19:45. | :19:47.
hasn't yet received all the information they've requested from | :19:48. | :19:51.
the parties involved. For his part, Mr Cellino is planning to travel to | :19:52. | :19:54.
the UK next week, and is already putting the re`purchase of the | :19:55. | :19:57.
club's Elland Road stadium at the top of his agenda. | :19:58. | :20:03.
On the field, we can't go into this weekend without mentioning | :20:04. | :20:05.
Chesterfield, who've had a fantastic week already with that JP Trophy | :20:06. | :20:08.
result at Fleetwood. Tomorrow, the Spireites have a chance to increase | :20:09. | :20:12.
their lead even further at the top of League Two, if they beat their | :20:13. | :20:15.
nearest rivals second placed Scunthorpe United away at Glanford | :20:16. | :20:28.
Park. It should be cracking. We try not to set us up for a shock. We | :20:29. | :20:34.
have had a great run. We are looking forward to the game, it will be | :20:35. | :20:37.
tough but it will be entertaining as well. | :20:38. | :20:43.
Have a good weekend, sporting wise, wherever you are going to spend it. | :20:44. | :20:49.
Now, I know you're always up for a challenge, Harry, but imagine | :20:50. | :20:52.
battling 40 foot waves and surviving on freeze dried food rations while | :20:53. | :20:55.
taking a rowing boat 3,000 miles across the Atlantic. Gruelling. But | :20:56. | :21:01.
that's just what Dan Rowie from Northallerton and his rowing | :21:02. | :21:05.
partner, Will North, did. They completed their epic journey from | :21:06. | :21:08.
the Canaries to Antigua in 53 days nine hours and 30 minutes. And they | :21:09. | :21:13.
touched down in the UK this morning. Dan's in the studio now. But, before | :21:14. | :21:18.
we talk to him, let's take a look at what he faced. | :21:19. | :21:24.
Their titanic battle saw them swapped the lead and was only | :21:25. | :21:33.
decided in the last 500 miles. They crossed the finishing line in | :21:34. | :21:37.
Antigua and their 3,000 mile journey was over. | :21:38. | :21:49.
It looks a piece of cake! Was it? It was quite full on and relentless. | :21:50. | :22:01.
What was the worst part? Capsizing. We capsized twice in December which | :22:02. | :22:07.
damaged all our electronics. We thought maybe we should pull the | :22:08. | :22:14.
plug them. Why do to keep going? We were thinking about our charities, | :22:15. | :22:18.
Cancer Research UK, leukaemia research and Saint Anna 's. These | :22:19. | :22:25.
guys go through worse every single day, so it was a case of man up and | :22:26. | :22:30.
get on with it. When you capsized, was it a massive wave that hit you? | :22:31. | :22:36.
On the 13th of December, it was a freak wave that hit us and we | :22:37. | :22:41.
deserved it. On the 17th, it was a 50 footer. It was full on. In | :22:42. | :22:49.
amongst all this, you've had some wonderful moments involving whales | :22:50. | :22:54.
and dolphins. We got surrounded by 30 fin whales one day. That was | :22:55. | :22:59.
fantastic. That was underneath the boat so we got some great footage. A | :23:00. | :23:03.
pool of dolphins we had as well, and a shark. It wasn't quite as fun. And | :23:04. | :23:12.
we had some Junor following us as well. I'd love to see the footage of | :23:13. | :23:22.
the Wales. Can we see at some time? My four friends are going to try | :23:23. | :23:27.
this thing, they are all ladies in York. What advice would you give | :23:28. | :23:33.
them? I don't know. I nearly said don't do it! I would say train hard | :23:34. | :23:39.
but be as prepared as you can. We made sure we got our boat as early | :23:40. | :23:43.
as we could so we could weasel out any issues with it because there | :23:44. | :23:46.
were quite a few problems that went wrong in training. So be as prepared | :23:47. | :23:51.
as you can, and be prepared to not have a good time. But you did feel | :23:52. | :24:00.
elated at the end. It was amazing, we had hundreds of people there. And | :24:01. | :24:06.
it was the best feeling, it was fantastic. And to know we raised | :24:07. | :24:11.
?150,000 for our charities, people donating on our website, we have had | :24:12. | :24:16.
so much support from Yorkshire as well. Uniquely didn't get here from | :24:17. | :24:22.
London today, did you? The train was a nightmare! Now, were you of the | :24:23. | :24:30.
seasick? No, I wasn't, I got off lucky. Well done, very well done. | :24:31. | :24:39.
Now, what is the prospect for the weather? | :24:40. | :24:43.
We have some wet and windy weather tonight but we have had a lovely day | :24:44. | :24:48.
today and the pictures reflect that. Let's take a look. The first one, | :24:49. | :24:55.
the spring is in the air. That is more folk Park in Sheffield. The | :24:56. | :24:59.
second picture is a beautiful scene across Hope Valley. The third one, | :25:00. | :25:03.
some sheep enjoying the sunshine near Harrogate. Keep your pictures | :25:04. | :25:11.
coming in. And you can also tweet us. Some wet and windy weather to | :25:12. | :25:16.
come through this evening and, on balance, Sunday is the better day of | :25:17. | :25:20.
the weekend. There will be fewer showers. You can see that the ISA | :25:21. | :25:26.
bars are tightly packed so windy conditions, especially as we go | :25:27. | :25:27.
through tomorrow. `` the ISA bars. Most places got some sunshine today | :25:28. | :25:39.
and we are fine out there today. Some showers will crop up this | :25:40. | :25:42.
evening ahead of this band of rain pushing up from the south`west. | :25:43. | :25:48.
Gales across the hills, maybe even some snow before it clears away | :25:49. | :25:54.
before the end of the night. Temperatures overnight dropping back | :25:55. | :25:58.
to two or three. The sun will rise at around 7:40am. | :25:59. | :26:08.
As we go through tomorrow, the best part of the day is going to be the | :26:09. | :26:14.
late morning with one or two showers to start, they will die away. Then | :26:15. | :26:21.
it will be nice but breezy. We do have some showers merging into | :26:22. | :26:24.
longer spells of rain through the afternoon so it is turning into a | :26:25. | :26:29.
grotty afternoon. Some places in the east will not get the showers but | :26:30. | :26:35.
most places will get to them. It is blustery, too. Temperatures are | :26:36. | :26:42.
average, getting up to about seven. Let us take a look further ahead | :26:43. | :26:45.
into Sunday. There will be some showers about, mainly in the West, | :26:46. | :26:51.
tending to become fewer and further apart. The breeze will lighten | :26:52. | :26:57.
through Monday to choose day. But we keep the Atlantic influence. It will | :26:58. | :27:02.
be windy on Schuster. After all that dried food, what will you have now? | :27:03. | :27:08.
I've been craving pork. And a lot of beer as well. Tuna is a good | :27:09. | :27:13.
food... Enjoy your weekend, goodbye. Should councils adopt an no`frills | :27:14. | :27:32.
approach to providing services along the lines of budget airlines? That's | :27:33. | :27:36.
what happened in one London borough but would it work up north? And we | :27:37. | :27:41.
find out why some Yorkshire care workers say they are angry at plans | :27:42. | :27:46.
to slash their wages. The full story on the Sunday Politics from 11am on | :27:47. | :27:48.
BBC One. | :27:49. | :27:50. |
