BBC Two in a few moments, asking what lessons the flood have | :00:00. | :00:19.
First tonight. The wife of a Bradford man who vanished seven years ago | :00:20. | :00:24.
says she's numb with grief after police revealed today that they | :00:25. | :00:26.
think he was murdered. Saj`eed Sad`eek has not been seen since he | :00:27. | :00:30.
attended a business meeting in February 2007. West Yorkshire Police | :00:31. | :00:33.
have arrested two men in connection with the murder. His wife says she | :00:34. | :00:36.
felt something was wrong from the very beginning. Emma Glasbey has | :00:37. | :00:39.
more. It's been seven years since her husband went missing. Now | :00:40. | :00:42.
detectives say they believe Bradford car dealer Sajid Saddique has been | :00:43. | :00:46.
murdered. It is the news his family had always feared. ?? YELLOW I felt | :00:47. | :00:59.
like something was wrong. Straightaway, when he didn't come | :01:00. | :01:02.
home, when his phone was switched off. But, yes, it was a massive | :01:03. | :01:15.
shock to hear it being confirmed. And I just felt numb. I just felt | :01:16. | :01:20.
sick. Since then, every day, I feel an enormous amount of grief. I feel | :01:21. | :01:24.
so sad. The last time Sajid Saddique was seen was on Valentine's Day | :01:25. | :01:27.
2007. Police say he came to this ASDA car park for a business | :01:28. | :01:31.
meeting. His car was later found here by his family. This was the | :01:32. | :01:34.
diamond encrusted watch he was wearing when he went missing. It is | :01:35. | :01:37.
another clue detectives are hoping will jog someone's memory. They've | :01:38. | :01:41.
spent seven years trying to find out what happened. There are still many | :01:42. | :01:45.
pieces of the jigsaw missing. I need to put together in order I can bring | :01:46. | :01:49.
some closure to Asma and the extended family of Sajid. There are | :01:50. | :01:52.
people out there definitely without a doubt that know what happened to | :01:53. | :01:56.
Sajid. In fact, where his body was taken following the murder. It's not | :01:57. | :02:01.
been the same. Family life has completely changed. There are people | :02:02. | :02:06.
that are responsible out there. Justice needs to be done. It is very | :02:07. | :02:15.
important. It was also revealed today that two men have been | :02:16. | :02:18.
arrested in connection with this case. They were picked up this | :02:19. | :02:19.
morning and are now being questioned In other news, part of a building | :02:20. | :02:32.
has collapsed after a 25`foot sinkhole appeared in Ripon. The hole | :02:33. | :02:41.
appeared earlier this evening in Magdalen's Close. There was no`one | :02:42. | :02:44.
in the building at the time, but a dog was successfully rescued from | :02:45. | :02:48.
the house. Nearby residents have been evacuated as a precaution and | :02:49. | :02:52.
the area has been cordoned off by police. Mining experts are now on | :02:53. | :02:55.
their way to assess the situation. The householder return to his house | :02:56. | :03:01.
at about half past five tonight and there were some subsidies under the | :03:02. | :03:04.
back garden and he had not been sure what happened, then he saw that some | :03:05. | :03:09.
large cracks had appealed on the lawn, and down the side of the | :03:10. | :03:13.
house. Then the side of the house started coming away from the main | :03:14. | :03:21.
part of the building. The famous concert pianist, John Briggs from | :03:22. | :03:24.
Bingley in West Yorkshire has gone on trial accused of indecent | :03:25. | :03:28.
assaults during a 25 year period on five boys, then aged between ten and | :03:29. | :03:31.
25. The alleged offences were between 1969 and 1993. It's claimed | :03:32. | :03:34.
the assaults took place against boys when Mr Briggs, seen here in the | :03:35. | :03:37.
middle, was giving them private music lessons at his home. Other | :03:38. | :03:41.
alleged victims were said to have been boys at the Keighley Sea | :03:42. | :03:44.
Cadets, where Mr Briggs was president. He denies all the | :03:45. | :03:46.
accusations. The government's being asked to spend at least ?5 million | :03:47. | :03:49.
on fixing North Yorkshire's roads. The County Council says a quarter of | :03:50. | :03:53.
its minor roads ` that's about 3,000 miles ` are in urgent need of | :03:54. | :03:57.
repairs, and it's rapidly becoming a crisis. Council leader John Wheel | :03:58. | :03:59.
has written to the Transport Minister asking for investment. | :04:00. | :04:10.
Anti`fracking campaigners have held a public meeting about the | :04:11. | :04:12.
possibility of controversial gas extraction techniques being used in | :04:13. | :04:16.
the York area. It was the first chance for people in the City to | :04:17. | :04:20.
quiz the UK head of Dart Energy which holds exploration licenses for | :04:21. | :04:22.
part of the City. Our business correspondent Danni Hewson went | :04:23. | :04:25.
along and sent back this report. The meeting that are still going on | :04:26. | :04:28.
behind me has been organised as a chance for people in York to ask | :04:29. | :04:32.
question is about fracking. The British geological survey has found | :04:33. | :04:37.
there are vast reserves of shale gas underneath Yorkshire and many of | :04:38. | :04:42.
those errors are already under licence. Dart Energy owns the | :04:43. | :04:45.
license that covers part of York, and they have coming here to talk to | :04:46. | :04:53.
people. I spoke to both groups and ask them why they thought that mean | :04:54. | :04:58.
things like this were important. We are concerned about the amount of | :04:59. | :05:02.
water use, we are concerned about water pollution into the aquifers, | :05:03. | :05:07.
the amount of chemicals being used, lorry movements, the | :05:08. | :05:12.
industrialisation of the countryside and the big one is, should we be | :05:13. | :05:20.
extracting more fossil fuels? There is a groundswell who do not like the | :05:21. | :05:23.
concept of fracking because they do not understand what it entails, and | :05:24. | :05:28.
these groups are very much against fossil fuels. They have been able to | :05:29. | :05:35.
grab the centre and suggest that fracking is something that it is | :05:36. | :05:38.
not, and that is why tonight is a very important night. So far, two | :05:39. | :05:45.
has not put in any applications to begin exploratory process that would | :05:46. | :05:49.
lead to fracking, but they are considering their options. Tonight, | :05:50. | :05:55.
mixed messages. A gamble that we don't need today, or do we need gas, | :05:56. | :05:59.
that is the bottom line first remark if it takes a step closer to | :06:00. | :06:05.
becoming reality in Yorkshire, there will be many more meetings like this | :06:06. | :06:12.
one. And finally ` you may may remember the London MP who had the | :06:13. | :06:16.
people of Sheffield on his back for saying Henderson's Relish was a copy | :06:17. | :06:19.
of Worcester Sauce. Jim Dowd has been to Sheffield to sample the | :06:20. | :06:22.
sauce. On a tour around the factory, he even got involved, and it appears | :06:23. | :06:26.
he's a convert. Subsequently I have had it on numerous occasions and I | :06:27. | :06:29.
find it fine. We had it for lunch today, we had Henderson's Pie. And | :06:30. | :06:39.
it was excellent. Time now for the weather forecast. Generally, it has | :06:40. | :06:43.
been a quiet week. You can see on the pressure charts | :06:44. | :06:55.
tomorrow, not a particularly breezy day, and that is a theme for the | :06:56. | :06:59.
next few days. We have outbreaks of rain and drizzle followed by the odd | :07:00. | :07:04.
shower, but generally, a dry night developing with some missed, low | :07:05. | :07:10.
cloud and hillfort possible. Temperatures around seven Celsius. | :07:11. | :07:15.
Tomorrow, some of that low cloud and mist will linger. It should | :07:16. | :07:22.
brighten, into the afternoon. And temperatures up at around nine or 10 | :07:23. | :07:27.
Celsius. That breeze will be like, with a few showers on Wednesday, and | :07:28. | :07:31.
then rainy, into Thursday. I will leave you with the summary for the | :07:32. | :07:34.
week ahead, and Nina | :07:35. | :07:36. |
