Welcome to the programme. The headlines: the 16 year-old to | :00:10. | :00:14.
admitted encouraging rioters get say curfew and is ordered to do | :00:14. | :00:19.
community service. It unemployment is up again by 4000 | :00:19. | :00:22.
for many disabled people, it has made looking for work almost | :00:22. | :00:26.
impossible. The prejudiced a amongst some employers, that | :00:26. | :00:32.
somehow we are left -- less worthy. A how soaring food costs and high | :00:32. | :00:37.
vet bills has left this animal sanctuary facing closure. | :00:37. | :00:41.
Forging a link between the Birmingham's struck -- Birmingham | :00:41. | :00:51.
:00:51. | :00:58. | ||
skyline and the bother of Stratford. Good evening and welcome to | :00:58. | :01:03.
Wednesday's Midlands Today from the BBC. Tonight, was it right to name | :01:03. | :01:06.
and shame a 16-year-old who urged people to riot on Facebook, during | :01:06. | :01:11.
last month's disorder? Johnny Melfah, from Droitwich in | :01:11. | :01:14.
Worcestershire, was arrested after his postings on the internet, and | :01:14. | :01:16.
magistrates then lifted the normal ban that applies to naming young | :01:16. | :01:23.
people in court. Today he was given a youth | :01:23. | :01:25.
rehabilitation order and ordered to do community work. Andy Newman | :01:25. | :01:31.
reports. A teenager tries to protect his identity but named and | :01:31. | :01:38.
shamed, there was no hiding place today. Does anyone want to start | :01:38. | :01:43.
some riots in Worcester? This was one of the invitations he posted a | :01:43. | :01:47.
on a website. In the event, neither Weston nor his home town of | :01:47. | :01:50.
Droitwich were touched by the disturbances but today, he paid the | :01:50. | :01:54.
price for what might have been. The magistrates were told that the | :01:54. | :01:57.
teenager had been receiving hate mail following earlier coverage, | :01:57. | :02:01.
some from a convicted paedophile. They rejected an appeal to reimpose | :02:01. | :02:05.
the ban on naming him. They said they did not believe that he | :02:05. | :02:08.
intended to start a riot but that he had been swept along by events. | :02:08. | :02:14.
Nevertheless, he said -- they said his comments helped to fuel the | :02:14. | :02:17.
horror. Police said that while Worcestershire escaped the horror, | :02:17. | :02:22.
it could have been different. Police or social media being used | :02:22. | :02:28.
to try to incite social disorder and serious violence. Here, a | :02:28. | :02:32.
combination of information from members of the public and our own | :02:32. | :02:35.
inquiries, have prevented what could have been potentially a very | :02:35. | :02:39.
serious incident in the city of Worcester. Experts in the field | :02:39. | :02:43.
salience net gives offenders a false sense of immunity from | :02:43. | :02:48.
reality. People get very caught up with the circle of friends that | :02:48. | :02:51.
they are communicating with and are keen to share information and | :02:51. | :02:55.
personal details. They don't realise they are broadcasting it to | :02:55. | :03:00.
a wider audience. When they make impassioned or criminal pleas for | :03:00. | :03:05.
doing something, often people are thinking they are speaking to a | :03:05. | :03:08.
small group of friends, whereas they are posting to a wider group. | :03:08. | :03:13.
Driven away this evening, he knows all too well the consequences of | :03:13. | :03:17.
abusing the internet. For him, they were a 12 month supervision order, | :03:17. | :03:25.
a three-month curfew had and 80 hours of community work. | :03:25. | :03:28.
We're joined now from Westminster by Shauneen Lambe, director of | :03:28. | :03:31.
charity Just For Kids Law, which provides support to young people | :03:31. | :03:35.
who find themselves in difficulty. Should Johnny Melfah have been | :03:35. | :03:43.
named and shamed? I don't believe he should. We have a protection in | :03:43. | :03:49.
law and of the children and Young Persons Act of 1933. It grants | :03:49. | :03:52.
Children anonymity. This is another example of the erosion of | :03:52. | :03:58.
protection and special status of children. He was 16, he is old | :03:58. | :04:01.
enough to be married and this was incredibly irresponsible. The UN | :04:01. | :04:06.
Convention on the rights of the child says his it is under the age | :04:06. | :04:10.
of 18, everyone should be considered a child. We've ratified | :04:10. | :04:15.
that convention. Teenagers these days are worldly wise and totally | :04:15. | :04:18.
in command of what they are doing. I don't think that's true. Thinking | :04:18. | :04:24.
back to 1933, that was a time when children left school at 14 or 16 to | :04:24. | :04:29.
start work. We protect children in other areas, making education | :04:29. | :04:34.
longer, but in criminal law, their rights are being eroded. What do | :04:34. | :04:41.
you say to people watching now, who say good on the courts? I am sure | :04:41. | :04:45.
that is the case and obviously, a lot of people feel strongly that he | :04:45. | :04:49.
should be punished a but that is an entirely different matter from | :04:49. | :04:52.
revealing his identity which will have an impact on the rest of his | :04:52. | :04:56.
life. What is that impact? Obviously he will be known that now | :04:56. | :05:00.
in the local area. Getting a job will be harder for him. He has not | :05:00. | :05:04.
had a chance to move on and start again. That is why that protection | :05:04. | :05:07.
is in place for children, so we can give them an opportunity when they | :05:07. | :05:11.
are adults to put things that happened during their teenage years | :05:11. | :05:17.
in their past. As even David Cameron himself has admitted, | :05:17. | :05:19.
adolescence and teenagers behave in ways which are not always | :05:19. | :05:29.
respectable. You don't think you are being too soft? I don't, no. | :05:29. | :05:39.
:05:39. | :05:41. | ||
Comments are already coming in. Andi Thomas says, yes of course he | :05:41. | :05:44.
should be named, set an example, we can't have 16-year-olds ruling our | :05:44. | :05:48.
country. On the other hand, Tom Poole | :05:48. | :05:51.
believes, community work will do the teenager good if he learns | :05:51. | :05:54.
something from it. What value is there in naming this kid? Not much. | :05:54. | :05:59.
He needs help to set him in the right direction. Dunc Ruthwell has | :05:59. | :06:02.
little sympathy, he should have his name and photo put on 20 foot | :06:02. | :06:04.
billboards, with a caption explaining how little he values the | :06:04. | :06:07.
society he lives in. Paul Scroggie said, they should all | :06:07. | :06:10.
be named, then their parents might start carrying some of the | :06:10. | :06:13.
responsibility. We'd like to hear more of your | :06:13. | :06:17.
views. Do you think the court was right to name and shame him? Email | :06:17. | :06:20.
your views and we'll have some of your comments later in the | :06:20. | :06:25.
programme. Still to come tonight: the injury- | :06:25. | :06:34.
plagued Premier League star Unemployment's on the rise again. | :06:34. | :06:37.
New figures show 4,000 more people are out of work, bringing the total | :06:37. | :06:40.
in the region to 239,000. That's 9.1% of the working population, | :06:40. | :06:45.
higher than the national average. Finding a job is tough for everyone | :06:45. | :06:48.
facing unemployment. But for those with disabilities it can be even | :06:48. | :06:51.
harder. Joanne Writtle's been to meet a woman who's helping disabled | :06:51. | :07:01.
:07:01. | :07:01. | ||
people find a job. A rare back problem means Jane | :07:01. | :07:04.
Hatton has to work at her computer lying down. But that hasn't stopped | :07:04. | :07:07.
her from starting a jobs website for disabled people from her home | :07:07. | :07:13.
in Kingswinford. The BBC is among the employers advertising on it. | :07:13. | :07:17.
is difficult for everyone currently because there are not the jobs | :07:17. | :07:21.
around that there were before. For a disabled person, there is a | :07:21. | :07:26.
prejudiced among some employers that we are some with the or less | :07:26. | :07:31.
capable. -- prejudice. Jane is only able to stand for short periods. | :07:31. | :07:34.
Her former job as a diversity trainer means she knows a lot about | :07:34. | :07:40.
employing all types of workers. The website is a few months old but | :07:40. | :07:44.
currently, hundreds of disabled job hunters are registered, and | :07:44. | :07:48.
thousands more search the site for work. Employers also register | :07:48. | :07:56.
vacancies on here, currently there are 40. Among those registered | :07:56. | :07:59.
Maxim, Lowe, from Stourbridge. He's musical, has good exam results and | :07:59. | :08:07.
many skills. He also has cerebal palsy. What I would like to save to | :08:07. | :08:12.
employers is to look past the disability with any disabled person | :08:12. | :08:16.
trying to find work and see their strengths. For example, I'm good | :08:16. | :08:21.
with computers, and good with people, I have GCSEs, I have A | :08:21. | :08:31.
:08:31. | :08:33. | ||
levels. The wheelchair, for many people, put them off. | :08:33. | :08:35.
specialist recruitment agency Remploy says disabled people are | :08:35. | :08:39.
twice as likely to be unemployed as the able bodied. The discrimination | :08:39. | :08:43.
Act, there is no direct discrimination and out. We find | :08:43. | :08:46.
employers want to employ more disabled people but don't know how | :08:46. | :08:49.
to do it. It is our job to help them with things like adjustments | :08:49. | :08:56.
in the workplace. If Back in Stourbridge, as one of the rising | :08:56. | :08:59.
number of unemployed people in the West Midlands, Maxim says his | :08:59. | :09:02.
challenge is convincing employers to look beyond his disability. | :09:02. | :09:07.
Joanne Writtle BBC Midlands Today. Three people have been charged over | :09:07. | :09:17.
a shooting outside a pub during last month's riots. Shots were | :09:17. | :09:20.
fired at police officers outside the Barton Arms pub in the Aston | :09:20. | :09:24.
area of Birmingham on August the 10th. No one was injured. Two men | :09:24. | :09:27.
and a teenage boy are accused of conspiracy to possess a firearm | :09:27. | :09:30.
with intent to endanger life, and conspiracy to commit violent | :09:30. | :09:34.
disorder. Birmingham City Council has | :09:34. | :09:36.
reversed a decision to ban the Royal British Legion from holding | :09:37. | :09:41.
poppy collections in parts of the city centre on two days in November. | :09:41. | :09:44.
The council has strict rules on the number of charity collections and | :09:44. | :09:47.
approval had already been given to the Anthony Nolan Trust and Shelter. | :09:47. | :09:51.
Those charities have withdrawn their requests to collect. | :09:51. | :09:54.
The owner of Birmingham City Football Club has been refused | :09:54. | :09:57.
permission to travel to the UK. Carson Yeung faces money laundering | :09:57. | :10:01.
charges in Hong Kong. He had been given permission to visit | :10:01. | :10:04.
Birmingham for four days from tomorrow, but that decision has now | :10:04. | :10:07.
been retracted. With the latest from Hong Kong, here's our | :10:07. | :10:15.
correspondent Andrew Wood. Two weeks ago, he thought he had | :10:15. | :10:18.
persuaded the court that he could leave Hong Kong for five days, he | :10:18. | :10:23.
could leave on Thursday. He could see for example Birmingham City | :10:23. | :10:27.
play their opponents and that he would be able to show himself to | :10:27. | :10:32.
the fans, build confidence and so on. Unfortunately for him, a higher | :10:32. | :10:36.
court judge has overturned the district court judge and refused | :10:36. | :10:40.
his requests to change his bail conditions so he could leave Hong | :10:40. | :10:45.
Kong. Previously, the prosecution, the Attorney-General's office, had | :10:45. | :10:49.
argued he was a flight risk, that he might not come back to Hong Kong | :10:49. | :10:53.
if he were allowed to leave. The defence had said that he is so | :10:54. | :10:57.
well-known that he would come back and has big-business interests here. | :10:57. | :11:04.
He will not be leaving Hong Kong any time soon. | :11:04. | :11:06.
A topping out ceremony has been carried out at Birmingham's new | :11:06. | :11:09.
library. It means the ten-floor glass building has now reached its | :11:09. | :11:18.
highest point. More than 800 people are currently | :11:18. | :11:21.
working on the 189 million project and Kevin Reide is there for us now. | :11:21. | :11:26.
Kevin, how's it looking? As you can see, the building is | :11:26. | :11:30.
taking shape. There is still a lot of concrete on display because it | :11:30. | :11:34.
is yet to be fitted out. That will take some time but there was a | :11:34. | :11:40.
pause today for the topping out ceremony that you mentioned. There | :11:40. | :11:45.
was a theme of a literary giant he was born not to fall away from | :11:45. | :11:51.
here.'s a all is well that ends well -- all is well that ends | :11:51. | :11:55.
well... A citation from a famous Shakespeare's play to celebrate | :11:55. | :11:57.
Birmingham's new library reaching it's highest point. The Bard's been | :11:57. | :12:01.
chosen as the theme because at the top of the building will be the | :12:01. | :12:04.
Shakespeare Memorial room. It's yet to be fitted out but was lovingly | :12:04. | :12:09.
topped off by Birmingham Council leader Mike Whitby. | :12:09. | :12:14.
It is going to be more than a library. It envelops the repertory | :12:14. | :12:18.
theatre, we are building an auditorium and I feel it makes a | :12:18. | :12:22.
statement about the confidence of Birmingham, respecting its heritage | :12:22. | :12:25.
but looking to the future. This is the highest point of the library. | :12:26. | :12:30.
It will not be open to the public but there will be a roof terrace a | :12:30. | :12:34.
little way down affair. It will give stunning views of Birmingham. | :12:34. | :12:39.
They are plentiful. And you can easily see Birmingham's present | :12:39. | :12:42.
library who many feel is an eyesore and was once infamously described | :12:42. | :12:45.
by Prince Charles as looking like a carbuncle. But the new building has | :12:45. | :12:54.
it's own theme. The theme of the building is circles. It links to | :12:54. | :13:04.
:13:04. | :13:05. | ||
the history of Birmingham, as and her staff -- and in her Strick... | :13:05. | :13:10.
It symbolises the industry and bringing people together from all | :13:10. | :13:14.
over the world. The library will also directed to the Birmingham | :13:14. | :13:19.
repertory Theatre next door and sticking with the Shakespeare theme | :13:19. | :13:23.
will be fronted by it's own public ampi theatre, used for the first | :13:23. | :13:31.
time today by members of the Rep. - - amphitheatre. It is costing | :13:31. | :13:36.
around 189 million to build a library but that is under budget | :13:36. | :13:39.
buyer around 5 million. The council is very pleased with that. | :13:39. | :13:44.
On top of that, it is also due to open on time, on Schedule in two | :13:44. | :13:53.
years' time from now, which will be in the summer of 2013. But under | :13:53. | :13:58.
budget and on time? ! Unbelievable. | :13:58. | :14:01.
Animal rescue charities say they're struggling to raise enough cash to | :14:01. | :14:05.
keep going at a time when more and more animals are being dumped by | :14:05. | :14:06.
owners who can't afford to keep them. | :14:06. | :14:09.
The situation's so bad at one sanctuary the owners fear they'll | :14:09. | :14:13.
have to shut and sell up because they'll no longer be able to afford | :14:13. | :14:17.
the food and vet bills. Ben Godfrey reports. | :14:17. | :14:20.
Daphne Wain has rescued hundreds of animals, from stranded sheep to | :14:20. | :14:23.
abused horses to unwanted chickens. With her husband Cliff, she runs | :14:23. | :14:26.
Green Meadow Animal Sanctuary, set in almost 40 acres of farmland in | :14:26. | :14:34.
Pattingham, near Wolverhampton. is nice to see them when faith come | :14:34. | :14:42.
and they've been hurt or abused. Then you see from and they trust | :14:42. | :14:46.
you again after a couple of years. This is my life. It costs almost | :14:46. | :14:50.
3,000 a month to run. In two months' time, their savings and | :14:50. | :14:53.
pensions won't cover the cost of spiralling food prices and high Vet | :14:53. | :14:56.
bills. They're faced with having to close the sanctuary, and sell off | :14:56. | :15:06.
:15:06. | :15:11. | ||
land. We had a severe winter last year and Hay went up three times | :15:11. | :15:21.
:15:21. | :15:22. | ||
the price. To offer our recent vet bills -- two of our recent vet | :15:22. | :15:28.
bills cost just over 600. This is another example of how rising costs | :15:28. | :15:32.
are proving a detriment to rely. His family have rescued hundreds of | :15:32. | :15:38.
animals in the past and it now needs its own rescue. Their mobile | :15:38. | :15:41.
home was given planning permission on the basis it was part of their | :15:41. | :15:44.
animal sanctuary, so if that goes, they'll be homeless. A campaign's | :15:44. | :15:47.
started on Facebook, with concerns that the animals may also have to | :15:47. | :15:52.
be destroyed. I don't know what I will do without them now, I really | :15:53. | :15:58.
don't. I just love them. I don't want to lose them. Every one of | :15:58. | :16:05.
them is different. Truthfully, until you asked me that question, I | :16:05. | :16:15.
:16:15. | :16:17. | ||
have been pretending that it will ever happen. | :16:18. | :16:21.
Still to come this evening: trying to solve a 430-year-old mystery. | :16:21. | :16:26.
Where was Wiliam Shakespeare married? | :16:26. | :16:30.
And we haven't had it yet but there's got to be a best day of the | :16:30. | :16:39.
week. Question is, which one will It's time for sport with Ian Winter | :16:39. | :16:44.
and football and cricket are on the agenda tonight. | :16:44. | :16:51.
Good evening. Stoke City are in Ukraine tonight, having their final | :16:51. | :16:54.
training session before tomorrow's Europa League game against Dynamo | :16:54. | :16:56.
Kiev. Record signing Peter Crouch is one of several players who've | :16:56. | :16:59.
stayed at home to recover from injury. Including one who feared | :16:59. | :17:03.
his playing career was over, until Stoke stepped in. | :17:03. | :17:07.
Grab an atlas for me, please. Stoke have got a big game tomorrow night. | :17:07. | :17:14.
Can anyone tell me who they are playing? At Langdale Primary, in | :17:14. | :17:17.
Newcastle under Lyme, Mr Baxter's geography lesson has taken a new | :17:17. | :17:24.
twist. His year six pupils are all Stoke City fans, keen to learn more | :17:25. | :17:27.
about Kiev, the home of the Potters' latest opponents. Kiev is | :17:27. | :17:31.
the capital of Ukraine. It is the second largest country in Europe. | :17:31. | :17:34.
And this is the famous city where Stoke are preparing for tomorrow | :17:34. | :17:37.
night's game. Rich in culture, steeped in history, a fascinating | :17:37. | :17:41.
mix of ancient and modern. A real feast for the travelling fans. But | :17:41. | :17:48.
not for Jonathan Woodgate. The big central defender has been left out | :17:48. | :17:52.
of the Potters Europa League squad, to focus on being fully fit for the | :17:52. | :17:56.
Premier League on Sunday. Over the past eight years, he has changed | :17:56. | :18:01.
hands for more than 37 million, but his career had been blighted by | :18:01. | :18:06.
injury. That is why he has joined Stoke treaty on a free transfer. | :18:06. | :18:15.
You get on with it and it is part of your life. This is the way have | :18:15. | :18:21.
got to look at it. It has been good to play football again. It is going | :18:21. | :18:25.
to be a yellow card for the Stoke defender. Seven years ago Jonathan | :18:25. | :18:28.
Woodgate joined the Spanish giants Real Madrid. He cost 13 million | :18:28. | :18:31.
from Newcastle. But the dream turned sour because of injury. And | :18:31. | :18:34.
now he's gone from the Bernabeau to the Britannia. Via Middlesbrough | :18:34. | :18:41.
and Spurs. All thanks to the faith shown by Tony Pulis. As soon as I | :18:41. | :18:46.
spoke to him, I thought he wants me, he is taking a chance on me. He | :18:46. | :18:51.
seems really keen to have me. the kids at Langdale Primary were | :18:51. | :18:54.
keen to have him too, for the launch of Stoke City's new Football | :18:55. | :18:57.
Roadshow. Over the next three months, 150 schools will receive | :18:57. | :19:00.
top quality coaching. But first, they're all hoping for the right | :19:00. | :19:07.
result in Kiev tomorrow night. BBC Radio Stoke has full match | :19:07. | :19:09.
commentary from Kiev, the kick- off's at six o'clock. Then | :19:09. | :19:14.
Birmingham City's game against Braga is live on BBC WM. | :19:14. | :19:19.
Now, stand by for a couple of very classy goals from League Two. Port | :19:19. | :19:24.
Vale scored a real cracker to take an early lead against Bradford. But | :19:25. | :19:28.
if Robert Taylor's first goal was sublime, his second was a comedy of | :19:28. | :19:31.
errors. That made it 2-1. But they had to wait until the final minute | :19:31. | :19:34.
for their 3-2 win. Tom Pope's bullet header lifting Vale up to | :19:34. | :19:38.
third in the table. Burton Albion have also made a good start. The | :19:38. | :19:40.
quick feet of Justin Richards delivered their only goal to beat | :19:40. | :19:44.
Crewe. They've now joined Vale, Shrewsbury and Cheltenham in the | :19:44. | :19:54.
top seven. One day to go in a county | :19:54. | :19:56.
championship. Worcestershire are safe, they will | :19:56. | :20:00.
be playing League One cricket next season. Warwick are closing in on | :20:01. | :20:04.
the title. Warwickshire's bowlers have been on top form all day | :20:04. | :20:09.
against Hampshire. Rankin and Clarke have been absolutely | :20:09. | :20:13.
tremendous. Warwickshire forced the follow-on. Hampshire need 126 runs | :20:13. | :20:23.
:20:23. | :20:25. | ||
to make the bear's bat again. -- Bears. | :20:25. | :20:29.
If they do win, whatever happens with Lancashire is irrelevant, | :20:29. | :20:33.
isn't it? Absolutely. We will have a full | :20:33. | :20:43.
:20:43. | :20:43. | ||
report from the Rose Bowl tomorrow. It's one of the biggest | :20:43. | :20:45.
Shakespearian mysteries, where did the Bard marry Anne Hathaway? They | :20:45. | :20:49.
are believed to have tied the knot when William was 18, back in 1582, | :20:49. | :20:54.
but the location of their nuptials remains a mystery. | :20:54. | :20:57.
A new exhibition is hoping to separate the facts from the fiction, | :20:57. | :20:59.
as five churches lay claim to the honour of being Shakespeare's | :20:59. | :21:05.
wedding venue. Here's Ben Sidwell. He is one of the greatest | :21:05. | :21:08.
Englishman of all time but we don't know much about the personal life | :21:08. | :21:12.
of William Shakespeare. When it comes to his marriage, we know | :21:12. | :21:16.
virtually nothing at all. In fact, the mystery surrounding it would | :21:16. | :21:22.
make a story that Shakespeare himself would be proud of. This is | :21:22. | :21:27.
the most logical place to start our search. Holy Trinity Church in | :21:27. | :21:33.
Stratford, where he was baptised and where he is buried. It is | :21:33. | :21:38.
probably the most likely place. It is his parish church. This is where | :21:38. | :21:44.
he came for his daughter's wedding, his son's funeral. It was | :21:44. | :21:49.
absolutely central to his life. Why wouldn't he have got married here? | :21:49. | :21:54.
Over at the Shakespeare birthplace Trust, they are not so sure. | :21:54. | :21:58.
Baptisms and burials, marriages of his two daughters, but not | :21:58. | :22:02.
Shakespeare's own marriage. It is absent which suggests he was not | :22:02. | :22:06.
married there. The research for the exhibition has been carried out by | :22:06. | :22:16.
:22:16. | :22:25. | ||
the churches Conservation Trust. Residents of Luddington have said | :22:25. | :22:32.
that he saw the entry in the church register of their wedding. However, | :22:32. | :22:35.
the register is not because it is said that the curate's wife burnt | :22:35. | :22:41.
it in order to boil a kettle. them there is this place, at of the | :22:41. | :22:44.
way, and with a family history. Shakespeare's grand daughter was | :22:44. | :22:48.
married here. Many believe the proof needed is buried under the | :22:48. | :22:53.
church but nobody had been inside the crypt in over 200 years. | :22:53. | :22:59.
Probably the most interesting part of what is going on down here is | :22:59. | :23:04.
right at the entrance, where I just came in. This is a coffin, a lead- | :23:04. | :23:10.
lined coffin, resting on top of something else. In terms of the | :23:10. | :23:19.
unknowns of what is in the script, -- crypt. It could be very | :23:19. | :23:23.
interesting. In the end, it was decided not to disturb anything | :23:23. | :23:27.
inside the crypt. They got married quickly, to do that they needed a | :23:27. | :23:32.
licence, and that meant a trip to Worcester. In the County Records | :23:32. | :23:37.
Office, some actual proof of the marriage. This is the register from | :23:37. | :23:46.
the Bishop and in it is an entry that says that William Shakespeare | :23:46. | :23:53.
received a licence to get married. The wrong name -- name is believed | :23:53. | :23:58.
to be a clerical error. Do we now have a location? This church | :23:58. | :24:03.
believes so but if the name is wrong, is the place as well? Back | :24:03. | :24:10.
in Worcester, another surprise. This is the parish register for the | :24:10. | :24:17.
parish of Worcester St mortar and and you can see that there is a gap | :24:17. | :24:23.
from 1578 until 1584. The theory is that Shakespeare got married in | :24:23. | :24:28.
First Church but the pages have been removed. This church would | :24:28. | :24:34.
have been on the way home for William and his wife. It was also | :24:34. | :24:37.
quiet and out of the way. Is it possible that Shakespeare actually | :24:37. | :24:43.
got married in Worcester, rather than Stratford? The truth is, we | :24:43. | :24:46.
will probably never know the answer to the mystery of his marriage. In | :24:46. | :24:51.
fact, it is likely this is one of his stories where the site -- final | :24:51. | :25:00.
scene will for ever remain unwritten. | :25:00. | :25:05.
It is important his guests knew where they were getting married! | :25:05. | :25:15.
:25:15. | :25:16. | ||
Well, before it turns warmer it turns colder and winds are taking a | :25:16. | :25:22.
back seat for now but could be back on the agenda by the weekend. This | :25:22. | :25:25.
is the high pressure that'll turn things very settled tonight, with | :25:25. | :25:33.
us for one day only and then that swiftly exits to the East. Then low | :25:33. | :25:36.
pressure bounds in from the West with some bite to it. But for | :25:36. | :25:40.
tonight, colder than it's been for a while. That is due to the high | :25:40. | :25:48.
pressure moving in. Temperatures will drop down to three Celsius. | :25:48. | :25:53.
That's just about cold enough for a touch of frost overnight. With the | :25:53. | :25:58.
lighter winds, perfect conditions. A few mist and fog patches | :25:58. | :26:01.
developing around river valleys but that will disappear quickly | :26:01. | :26:05.
tomorrow. A cold start but it will be a sunny one. The best of the | :26:05. | :26:09.
sunshine during the morning. Then we will see some cloud drifting in | :26:09. | :26:12.
from the West. That cloud is not going to be thick enough for any | :26:12. | :26:16.
rain so it is a dry day tomorrow but we can see from the | :26:16. | :26:19.
temperatures, 18 or 19 Celsius, the temperatures to recover quite well | :26:19. | :26:23.
under the influence of the sunshine. Because the high pressure is over | :26:23. | :26:27.
us tomorrow, we will have a very light winds indeed. Tomorrow night, | :26:27. | :26:32.
their cars will thicken up from the West. It will be clear to begin | :26:32. | :26:35.
with but another cold night. It will bring in some rain by Friday | :26:35. | :26:45.
:26:45. | :26:50. | ||
so it will be a wet day and it will A look at tonight's main headlines: | :26:50. | :26:53.
The dole queues get longer, with the biggest jump in the jobless | :26:53. | :26:56.
total for nearly two years. And here a 16-year-old who encouraged | :26:56. | :27:00.
people to riot via Facebook is named by the courts and given a 12 | :27:00. | :27:07.
month rehabilitation order. At 16, there is still plenty of | :27:07. | :27:11.
time for him to change his ways. Robert says, I found myself totally | :27:11. | :27:15.
annoyed that the woman in the interview that said a 70 a road | :27:15. | :27:17.
year-old law says that underrate teams should not be named in court. | :27:17. | :27:21.
She would not be saying that if she was one of the shop owners that had | :27:21. | :27:23.
their businesses and lives ruined by rioters. | :27:23. | :27:31.
Dave says something similar. What planet was that woman on? Why do | :27:31. | :27:34. |
