Good evening. Welcome to NorthWest Tonight. Our top story...

:00:19.:00:22.

Raids at dawn - the authorities move in as cocklers defy the

:00:22.:00:25.

warnings to pick the valuable sand beds off the Lancashire coast.

:00:25.:00:27.

People are going out on equipped and experienced with the estuary.

:00:27.:00:31.

One third of fishermen were turned away because they did not have the

:00:31.:00:34.

right permit but may return tomorrow.

:00:34.:00:37.

And, after eight hours of motorway hell, we are live from the M6 where

:00:37.:00:40.

repair work is still underway to get traffic moving again.

:00:40.:00:44.

On manoevres in the Med - we join the crew of HMS Liverpool on her

:00:44.:00:49.

final journey home. And if you like your sport fast,

:00:49.:00:53.

frightening and afloat, join me at Coniston Water for this week's

:00:53.:01:03.
:01:03.:01:08.

Ever since a new cockle bed was officially opened for harvesting,

:01:08.:01:11.

word has spread and literally hundreds of fishermen from this

:01:11.:01:14.

country and Europe have converged on the shore at Lytham. They work

:01:14.:01:18.

backbreaking hours for the cockles, worth millions of pounds.

:01:18.:01:21.

But each week since then there have been serious concerns about those

:01:21.:01:23.

going offshore onto the sands, which are famously unpredictable

:01:23.:01:28.

and dangerous. The cockle beds are at Foulnaze banks, about a mile off

:01:28.:01:34.

the coast of Lytham. Pickers have to navigate the sands and gullies

:01:34.:01:40.

to get there. Kate Simms joins us from Lytham now.

:01:40.:01:45.

All quiet on the beach at Lytham at the moment, but by six o'clock

:01:45.:01:48.

tomorrow morning weather permitting it will be full of fishermen and

:01:48.:01:52.

they will be on the lookout for these. The Foulnaze Banks container

:01:52.:01:57.

needs -- estimated 8 million worth of these cockles. One fisherman had

:01:57.:02:03.

been out for three years this morning and sold them for 600. It

:02:03.:02:06.

is a lucrative industry, but one that was curtailed this morning

:02:06.:02:15.

when the different agencies that regulated came to go that -- came

:02:15.:02:18.

together to try and enforce the regulations.

:02:18.:02:23.

Checking vehicles, flares and even looking for red diesel.

:02:23.:02:27.

These were just the fishermen who made it out at all.

:02:27.:02:31.

I do check. We have turned at least 50 individuals away who did not

:02:31.:02:38.

have the correct payment -- at the checkpoint, leader under way 50

:02:38.:02:43.

individuals who did not have the correct permit and safety equipment.

:02:43.:02:49.

The cockle bed it will attract up to 450 fishermen every day.

:02:49.:02:55.

This incident is a direct response to 26 incidents in September were

:02:55.:03:00.

left board had to be called out to rescue cocklers. It is also a

:03:00.:03:06.

reminder of the tragedy in 2003 where it goggle pillars -- cockle

:03:06.:03:12.

pickers drowned in Morecambe Bay. People are going out unequipped,

:03:12.:03:17.

not experienced with the estuary. A you have to get rid of them and

:03:17.:03:20.

get proper life jackets. Despite a rap on the knuckles,

:03:20.:03:25.

these fishermen were largely supportive of today's checks, but

:03:25.:03:28.

they say they are meaningless if they are not more for good.

:03:28.:03:32.

If they're going to do it they should do it every day, then they

:03:32.:03:37.

will know the people who are all right and spirit every day.

:03:37.:03:43.

The many agencies policing here today pledged to carry out more

:03:43.:03:48.

operations. Meanwhile, the council will meet with the Fisheries

:03:48.:03:52.

Minister to discuss how to improve regulation.

:03:52.:03:55.

What do they cancel want to ask the Government is, instead of having

:03:55.:03:59.

lots of different agencies policing the industry, they want to see one

:03:59.:04:04.

body policing it locally. That will take time and money, though. In the

:04:04.:04:10.

meantime, the council announced they will charge 15 -- 15 per day

:04:10.:04:15.

to charges -- to park on this beach so that some money from the

:04:15.:04:25.
:04:25.:04:25.

lucrative industry will come back A chemical spillage has caused

:04:25.:04:28.

traffic chaos on motorways and roads across the North West today.

:04:28.:04:32.

Part of the M6 Northbound has been closed for most of the day after a

:04:32.:04:35.

tanker overturned this morning. It has had a knock-on effect across

:04:35.:04:37.

the region, with tail-backs lasting for miles. Our reporter, Sarah

:04:37.:04:41.

Mulkerrins, has been caught up in the jams and she joins us now. What

:04:41.:04:48.

is the latest? Now I am between Junction 30 and 31.

:04:48.:04:54.

Behind me two lanes of traffic have reopened. That is after four lanes

:04:54.:04:59.

were closed today. They have done that in order to facilitate the

:04:59.:05:04.

peak rush of traffic. There will be a lay-by lane closures on the M6

:05:04.:05:11.

tonight. When -- engineers are working to get the lanes reopened

:05:11.:05:17.

for traffic tonight and they hope to have all the work completed for

:05:17.:05:21.

5am for tomorrow morning's rush hour.

:05:21.:05:27.

John that has been a real mess for anyone today caught up in those

:05:27.:05:30.

problems. Explain how everything has started.

:05:30.:05:36.

It has been a series of different accidents today. The M65 was closed

:05:36.:05:41.

this morning, a motorcyclist was unfortunately killed. After 10 and

:05:41.:05:49.

there was a solvent bill here on the M6. -- a solvent spell. Just

:05:49.:05:55.

this evening of the M6 southbound, which has been affected all day,

:05:55.:06:00.

that has had a multi- vehicle accident and is now closed. It has

:06:00.:06:06.

been a catalogue of accidents that have added to everything here.

:06:06.:06:10.

1 the M6 earlier they were a sign posting it to try and stop people

:06:10.:06:13.

getting to the board Tomich, but for those stuck in it, how did they

:06:13.:06:16.

react? Most people have been calm and

:06:16.:06:21.

patient, but it has been very frustrating for people. We were

:06:21.:06:27.

talking earlier to one grandfather who was today trying to get to see

:06:27.:06:30.

his new grandson born last night, but failed.

:06:30.:06:33.

but failed. I was travelling to the hospital to

:06:33.:06:38.

see my first grandchild, born last night drivers were frustrated and

:06:38.:06:42.

horns were going and lights flashing and everything.

:06:42.:06:46.

It was horrendous, and not many visitors were able to get to the

:06:46.:06:51.

hospital. Only two midwives managed to get in. There was a shortage of

:06:51.:06:53.

nurses, everything was affected, nurses, everything was affected,

:06:53.:06:58.

basically. As we can see, traffic is slowly

:06:58.:07:03.

getting here tonight, and they hope to have all the resurfacing work

:07:03.:07:13.
:07:13.:07:13.

done by 5am in the morning. A chemical spillage has caused

:07:13.:07:23.
:07:23.:07:27.

traffic chaos on motorways and More news from around the North

:07:27.:07:30.

West now, and a Network Rail engineer has admitted to an inquest

:07:30.:07:33.

that he forgot to inspect the points which caused the Grayrigg

:07:33.:07:36.

crash. David Lewis blamed pressure of work, telling the hearing at

:07:36.:07:39.

Kendal he felt like a man spinning plates on poles. 84-year-old

:07:39.:07:41.

Margaret Masson died in the crash four years ago.

:07:41.:07:44.

A man involved with an armed robbery in Lancashire six years ago

:07:44.:07:47.

has been jailed for over ten years. Stephen Devalda provided a

:07:47.:07:50.

motorbike which two of the gang used to get to and from the crime

:07:50.:07:53.

scene at Asda in Colne. Devalda was arrested and charged four years ago,

:07:53.:07:57.

but jumped bail and fled to Spain. He was arrested in Malaga in March.

:07:57.:07:59.

A 170,000 grant will be invested in Alzheimer's research in

:07:59.:08:03.

Manchester. The money from Alzeheimer's UK will be used by

:08:03.:08:05.

scientists at Manchester University to uncover the causes of the

:08:05.:08:07.

disease and help develop new treatments.

:08:07.:08:11.

Indie band James have been honoured by a Heritage Music award. Today

:08:11.:08:14.

they unveiled a special black plaque at the site of the former

:08:14.:08:18.

Hacienda club in Manchester. It marks the place where the original

:08:18.:08:22.

band played their first gig together.

:08:22.:08:25.

23 people accused of involvement in this summer's riots have been

:08:25.:08:29.

arrested in raids across Greater Manchester. It brings the total of

:08:29.:08:32.

arrests to just short of 400. It is nearly three months since the

:08:32.:08:35.

distrubances, but even now a team of officers spends every day poring

:08:35.:08:37.

over CCTV pictures to identify rioters. Stuart Flinders reports.

:08:37.:08:41.

Some were arrested at home. Others were already in prison on other

:08:41.:08:45.

charges when they were visited by the police this morning. It is

:08:45.:08:48.

nearly three months since these violent disturbances, but the

:08:48.:08:50.

availability of good quality CCTV means the list of suspects is

:08:50.:08:55.

growing every day. Some of the material being viewed by a

:08:55.:08:57.

dedicated team comes from councils and busiensses, some from private

:08:57.:09:07.

individuals. People sent in footage from video

:09:07.:09:12.

phones, from mobile phones. Members of a public? At yes, they have been

:09:12.:09:19.

sending something. Nearly 400 arrests so far, nearly

:09:19.:09:25.

200 court appearances. I think people will recognise, the

:09:25.:09:28.

fire that you get away from it, the less chance you have of bringing

:09:29.:09:38.

people to justice. This was one of the stores targeted

:09:38.:09:42.

by rioters. It is no like nothing ever happened. But some of these

:09:42.:09:46.

are only getting back to normal now. The Closed for five weeks, this

:09:46.:09:49.

store had to be completely refitted. Sales staff were in the building

:09:49.:09:52.

when the rioters burst in, wrecking not just the shop but their peace

:09:52.:09:57.

of mind. About 30 or 40 people were in the

:09:57.:10:00.

showroom and what they could not steal they threw on the floor

:10:00.:10:05.

maliciously. They were like animals. If you think about it too deeply

:10:05.:10:09.

you could have nightmares of it, because when you see the CCTV

:10:09.:10:18.

footage it is quite frightening. Still to come in North West

:10:18.:10:23.

Tonight... The Government gives 25 million to

:10:23.:10:28.

the Stanley Dock Warehouse. Cannot help tackle some of the worst rates

:10:28.:10:32.

of unemployment and deprivation and the country? -- can it help?

:10:32.:10:36.

And leaving other sports in their wake: speedboats return to Coniston

:10:36.:10:45.

It was once an old tobacco warehouse and the biggest building

:10:45.:10:50.

in the world. Today, Stanley Dock in Liverpool is all but derelict.

:10:50.:10:53.

But it is hoped 25 million of Government funding for the

:10:53.:10:56.

warehouse and the surrounding area could create hundreds of jobs. It

:10:56.:10:59.

is another North West scheme to benefit from the Regional Growth

:10:59.:11:03.

Fund - a fund which came under fire this afternoon in a row over panel

:11:03.:11:09.

members receiving millions. Here's Stanley Dock - once part of

:11:09.:11:18.

Liverpool's industrial heartland. Could it be once more?

:11:18.:11:23.

25 million from Government will unlock more private cash - 130

:11:23.:11:29.

million in total. It will mean an Albert Dock style regeneration to

:11:29.:11:33.

support businesses are rounded. This is the first good news we have

:11:33.:11:41.

had in Liverpool in decades. There were a line of docks, Tate and Lyle

:11:41.:11:44.

and other companies, and this is just wonderful.

:11:44.:11:47.

This place was once heaving with industry. Tate and Lyle were here.

:11:47.:11:51.

British American Tobacco were here. Thousands of jobs. This money won't

:11:51.:11:55.

just go to Stanley Dock, but the whole of North Liverpool and they

:11:55.:11:57.

hope the area can become the economic heart of Liverpool once

:11:57.:12:06.

North Liverpool has the highest rates of unemployment and

:12:06.:12:09.

deprivation in the country. One in five young people are out of work

:12:09.:12:13.

here. Today's news, they hope, will directly help them.

:12:13.:12:17.

I am going to try and get a job, but there are no jobs, there is

:12:17.:12:20.

just no jobs. Are you confident when you hear

:12:20.:12:24.

things like this? Yes. It is a lot of money being put

:12:24.:12:33.

in, especially for this part of the city.

:12:33.:12:36.

Good news from the Growth Fund for an area that desperately needs it.

:12:36.:12:39.

But today that fund came under attack in Parliament. One of the

:12:39.:12:42.

recipients is co-owned by a member of the Growth Fund panel which

:12:42.:12:45.

decides where cash goes. The company is Redx Pharma, based here

:12:45.:12:47.

at Liverpool University. Tonight the Government said the panel

:12:47.:12:54.

member had declared and interest The award-winning Accrington author

:12:54.:12:57.

Jeanette Winterson found fame with her first novel, written when she

:12:57.:13:00.

was just 25. Oranges are Not The Only Fruit sold more than a million

:13:00.:13:04.

copies, and won a BAFTA for the BBC Television adaptation. So it is

:13:04.:13:07.

nothing but remarkable that as a child reading in her house was

:13:07.:13:10.

frowned upon, and her adoptive mother would beat her and make her

:13:10.:13:16.

sit on the doorstep overnight. Jeanette has written about her life

:13:16.:13:19.

in East Lancashire in Why Be Happy When You Can Be Normal?, and she

:13:19.:13:22.

popped in to talk about it. She is a Pentecostal evangelist,

:13:22.:13:27.

and she thought that sedition and controversial were fired by secular

:13:27.:13:32.

influences. She did not want any secular influences in our house, so

:13:32.:13:36.

we only had six books - the Bible and books about the Bible. Except

:13:36.:13:41.

for one, the story of Arthurian legend, the Holy Grail and the road

:13:41.:13:47.

table, and it excited me. It led me to the Accrington Public Library.

:13:47.:13:50.

Mrs Winston always said, the trouble with a book is you never

:13:50.:13:55.

know what is in it until it is too late. And she was right! She was

:13:55.:13:58.

right about books. Printed matter does change things, it changed

:13:58.:14:02.

things for me. Of course, adoption is in the news

:14:02.:14:05.

this week for various regions -- reasons because the Government

:14:05.:14:10.

wants to speed up the time it takes for adoption. What are your

:14:10.:14:14.

feelings? Looking back, it was quite a difficult life for you end

:14:14.:14:19.

his family when it was very strict and uncaring, in many ways.

:14:19.:14:23.

The North always is a bit more rough and ready. It was not that it

:14:23.:14:27.

was uncaring, it is that you had to look after yourself.

:14:27.:14:32.

If you had to sit on doorsteps. Yes, Mrs Winston used to lock me

:14:32.:14:39.

out. That is because at that as a - - that is why I told stories,

:14:39.:14:41.

because when you're in an intolerable place the only place

:14:41.:14:44.

you can call is in your head. If you have creativity, you can use

:14:44.:14:50.

that, that is what I did. This was a woman who had a revolver and a

:14:50.:14:54.

draw. When she was angry she would get a revolver boat, and she was

:14:54.:15:01.

really angry she would get the tenor of Polish out. She thought of

:15:01.:15:05.

life as a pre- Death Experience. She would not get past Social

:15:05.:15:09.

Services now, but I think it was better for me to be in that warm

:15:09.:15:12.

than in an institution. You have made a little film about

:15:12.:15:20.

adoption, for the onshore!? Yes, it really dismays me that so

:15:20.:15:25.

few children are doctored known. The rules are so strict. You're not

:15:25.:15:29.

supposed to put black children with white parents, white children with

:15:29.:15:35.

Chinese parents, it is crazy. Only around 60 kids were adopted in the

:15:35.:15:39.

UK last year, which can't be right. Thank you so much, that is all we

:15:39.:15:42.

have time for, but a pleasure to meet you.

:15:42.:15:46.

I used to read her novels when I was doing English literature at

:15:46.:15:50.

Lancaster and University. I have never read her books, but

:15:50.:15:53.

she was Book Of the Week on Radio 4 this week and she talked about her

:15:53.:15:57.

mum throwing her books out in the dark and setting them on fire.

:15:57.:16:06.

Then she went on to sell millions Sport now, and it appears

:16:06.:16:09.

Manchester City might want Carlos Tevez as part of their future plans

:16:09.:16:12.

after all. The striker was last week fined four weeks wages and

:16:12.:16:14.

charged with five breaches of conduct - after his apparent

:16:14.:16:18.

refusal to come on as a substitute in a Champions League game. Today

:16:18.:16:20.

an Italian newspaper has quoted Manager Roberto Mancini as saying

:16:20.:16:23.

that, if Tevez apologises to him and the City squad, everything will

:16:23.:16:26.

be as before. City have flown out to Spain for

:16:27.:16:29.

their crunch Champions League match at Villareal. Sergio Aguero is

:16:29.:16:32.

likely to start up front, and he has today been nominated for the

:16:32.:16:37.

World Footballer of the Year Award. Also on the 23-man Ballon D'Or

:16:38.:16:40.

shortlist are Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, and the Manchester

:16:40.:16:44.

United pair Wayne Rooney and Nani. United host Romanian side Galat in

:16:44.:16:48.

the Champions League tomorrow night. Having recently faced critiscm, Rio

:16:48.:16:58.
:16:58.:16:59.

Ferdinand will start in the absence of suspended captain Nemanja Vidic.

:16:59.:17:03.

He needs to rely on his pace, he used to rely on his pace, but he

:17:03.:17:09.

cannot do that, that is obvious. We have all faced that moment,

:17:09.:17:15.

changing our game. He will do the same, he will be fine.

:17:15.:17:19.

Eight months to go until the London Olympics. Athletes from all sports

:17:19.:17:23.

are preparing for winter training ahead of selection. On North West

:17:23.:17:26.

tonight we're following six youngsters hoping to achieve that

:17:26.:17:30.

Olympic dream. Between now and the games we will

:17:30.:17:32.

be bringing the news of their training at whether things are

:17:32.:17:36.

going to plan. Connect, our correspondent catches

:17:36.:17:42.

up with our young gymnast. -- She's a world class athlete and an

:17:42.:17:45.

A-level student. But in the mornings, Jennifer Pinches is just

:17:45.:17:51.

a big sister. Because she has been doing it for

:17:51.:17:55.

so long it is part of family life, since the boys were young we have

:17:55.:17:59.

been going to competitions. It is quite moving, as a parent, to see

:17:59.:18:03.

how much success she is having, but it is not by Locke, it is by hard

:18:03.:18:05.

work. Each week Jennifer has to balance

:18:05.:18:08.

45 hours training and travelling to her gym in Liverpool with 15 hours

:18:09.:18:16.

in lessons, plus plenty of homework. You can always do your exams any

:18:16.:18:21.

time in your life, you can do them again, but gymnastics, I can only

:18:21.:18:30.

do this narrow. -- I can only do this now.

:18:30.:18:36.

Jenny spent the week leading up to her GCSEs competing for our country

:18:36.:18:41.

in Japan. I have been in Tokyo.

:18:41.:18:48.

Seriously? Yes, at the World Championships!

:18:48.:18:53.

The way it has worked his through technology. She keeps in touch with

:18:53.:18:56.

their teachers through e-mail. We have been able to be flexible,

:18:56.:18:59.

because she is such a well- organised and intelligent young

:18:59.:19:01.

woman. Thanks to a record breaking fifth

:19:01.:19:04.

place at the World Championships, the British team will be at 2012,

:19:04.:19:10.

but Jennifer faces an anxious wait. Five other girls will be taken to

:19:10.:19:14.

compete in the Olympic Games, which is less than the six that competed

:19:14.:19:16.

in the world championships, so the trials are going to be important

:19:16.:19:21.

next year. Obviously, I am going to work really hard and if I get

:19:21.:19:24.

selected it will be amazing. Well, if hard work is what is

:19:24.:19:31.

needed, I challenge you to find an Olympian who is working harder.

:19:31.:19:35.

Either in the gymnasium or in the classroom.

:19:35.:19:39.

I hope she does it when she goes to those trials.

:19:39.:19:43.

Mind-boggling skills. After almost 30 years of serving

:19:43.:19:46.

the Royal Navy around the world, next week HMS Liverpool returns to

:19:46.:19:49.

British waters for the final time. #The Type-42 destroyer made on

:19:49.:19:53.

Merseyside is being replaced by a more modern ship.

:19:53.:19:56.

Nina Warhurst spent five days at sea with HMS Liverpool as the crew

:19:56.:20:01.

prepared for her return from Libya. And in the first of three special

:20:01.:20:04.

reports from the Mediterranean she explains the role it played in this

:20:04.:20:14.
:20:14.:20:25.

A 4.5 inch naval guns. This time used for a training exercise, but

:20:25.:20:30.

during the war in Libya used against pro-Gadaffi's forces.

:20:30.:20:35.

It has been a tough month for the crew on board HMS Liverpool, the

:20:35.:20:39.

Type 42 destroyer made on Merseyside. It has played a role in

:20:39.:20:43.

the Falklands, in Kosovo and in Iraq, and the summer in Libya she

:20:43.:20:49.

was one of NATO's key warships and only eight -- and is only just

:20:49.:20:53.

making her way home. A seashell give you that I -- an

:20:53.:20:57.

idea of the capacity of the 4.5 inch gun and all were the cause of

:20:57.:21:00.

the summer it shot more than 200 rounds.

:21:00.:21:04.

It is not the only Royal Navy warship being deployed off the

:21:04.:21:08.

coast of Libya, but she is unique in being the only one to be fired

:21:08.:21:11.

that herself. The gunfire from Colonel Gaddafi's

:21:11.:21:16.

supporters came within metres of reaching the ship, added one. Age

:21:16.:21:20.

and his lovable spent more than five weeks at action stations,

:21:20.:21:26.

meaning everyone was at war posts without a break and under fire.

:21:26.:21:32.

I can't even explain it. You wait for a wrench to come in and that is

:21:32.:21:36.

it, you are going to be dead. Below that, an intricate operation.

:21:36.:21:42.

Spotters let planes know the operations team will when to fire

:21:42.:21:49.

and Wear. -- when and where to fire a.

:21:49.:21:52.

And further below deck, the men and women who had to keep the engine

:21:52.:21:58.

running at full capacity, often at temperatures of up to 45 degrees.

:21:58.:22:01.

When there is action, we have to work fast, turn the ship around, it

:22:01.:22:07.

is loud. The guns are going, it is quite scary, but down here we have

:22:07.:22:13.

not got a picture of what is going on of top.

:22:13.:22:17.

The patrol is a very long one, it was very stressful. There was a lot

:22:17.:22:22.

of action, we were under significant threat and danger. We

:22:22.:22:25.

had rounds landing close to the ship, and to have seen them

:22:25.:22:30.

continue to keep coming back and produce the professional goods we

:22:30.:22:35.

were asked to by NATO command is something the Navy and the nation

:22:35.:22:41.

can be proud of. Now, after almost 30 years,

:22:41.:22:45.

Liverpool's mission to Libya will be her last.

:22:45.:22:52.

The issue can see, not much space... Tomorrow, we look at life on board

:22:52.:22:56.

HMS Liverpool, and on Thursday we look back at her history ahead of

:22:56.:23:06.
:23:06.:23:12.

The tranquility of a quiet corner the Lake District is being broken

:23:12.:23:15.

this week - but it is only for a few days.

:23:15.:23:17.

Coniston Water has been synonymous with fast boats ever since the

:23:17.:23:20.

world waterspeed record was set there in 1939. And this week the

:23:20.:23:23.

lake is hosting the British Powerboat speed records event - as

:23:23.:23:28.

Peter Marshall explains. This is one way of selling on

:23:28.:23:38.

Is quite another. I collared exciting. A lot of

:23:38.:23:48.
:23:48.:23:49.

Ted Walsh is the fastest man alive on Coniston Water. Last year, he

:23:49.:23:53.

averaged 147 mph. Later this week if the weather improves he will be

:23:53.:23:58.

aiming for the 150 mph target. It is not for the faint-hearted.

:23:58.:24:02.

I think most people would find it quite alarming. It is a violent

:24:02.:24:08.

piece of machinery, really. It is not like a pleasure boat.

:24:08.:24:11.

The board's hour to over one kilometre. They are all sizes and

:24:11.:24:16.

all parlours, from 20 brake horsepower to 2,000 break

:24:16.:24:21.

horsepower. In coming to Coniston with its

:24:21.:24:31.
:24:31.:24:37.

Bluebird legend, they came to their Obviously Coniston Water comes with

:24:37.:24:43.

a lot of history. I have been asked to do do that -- to drive the

:24:43.:24:47.

Campbell Board when they get it put back together. It is an honour to

:24:47.:24:51.

be involved with that project, and it is great to hold up the

:24:51.:24:56.

traditions of record-breaking one Coniston.

:24:56.:25:01.

It hits you in the middle of your chest, doesn't it? It is a roar

:25:01.:25:06.

beyond anything else. Record Week concludes on Friday.

:25:06.:25:11.

Catch them if you can. You spend a lot of time under water,

:25:11.:25:16.

haven't you? In your previous job you might yes, in Southampton.

:25:16.:25:25.

I was fascinated by the sale boards and the power.

:25:25.:25:32.

I have to let you into a secret, we were talking about Cinzano!

:25:32.:25:42.

That shows our AG! That is the lake in Delamere Forest.

:25:42.:25:45.

It is a stunning picture, if you have anything like it you can e-

:25:45.:25:53.

mail us and we would love to see it. Today's weather was beatable,

:25:53.:25:57.

tomorrow's -- tomorrow gives us more cloud cover. That will be a

:25:57.:26:02.

feature of through the next few days, winds being a feature, could

:26:02.:26:09.

be gale-force for a time. At this time, quite a lot of clear weather,

:26:09.:26:13.

sticking with us through the night, so some temperature -- saw some

:26:13.:26:17.

parts of the region could see temperatures as low as five Celsius.

:26:17.:26:25.

But, more cloud coming towards us in the early hours. That will boost

:26:25.:26:29.

temperatures a little towards dawn. Temperatures should not fall below

:26:29.:26:35.

five or six Celsius. Towards dawn some temperatures seen temperatures

:26:35.:26:39.

of seven or nine Celsius. Tomorrow morning, some spells of sunshine

:26:39.:26:44.

but the cloud will win through. Sunshine will peak at lunchtime,

:26:45.:26:51.

after that the picture changes all over again. Predominantly cloudy,

:26:51.:26:56.

but very windy. You can see the winds coming from the south, 25 mph

:26:56.:27:01.

at any point in the day, but it will be dusting, touching gale-

:27:01.:27:08.

force at times. A band of rain will work its way in towards teatime

:27:08.:27:13.

throughout tomorrow night, wet and windy. Most of the model is usable,

:27:13.:27:17.

you can get out and about, it should be dry all the way through

:27:17.:27:23.

but the winds will be a big feature. Temperatures not so bad, 13 or 14

:27:23.:27:27.

Celsius. We must explain come up the only

:27:27.:27:31.

reason we were mentioning that particular brand of drink is it

:27:31.:27:36.
