Tonight with Stuart Flinders and Annabel Tiffin. Our top story: A | :00:07. | :00:11.
man's killed and his thirteen year old girl daughter is fighting for | :00:11. | :00:14.
her life after being stabbed at their home in Manchester. The man | :00:14. | :00:17.
who police believe was the attacker has also died. Also tonight: NHS | :00:17. | :00:20.
Direct pulls out of the 111 service in the north west. | :00:20. | :00:30.
:00:30. | :00:32. | ||
What does it mean for the region's patients? I am by the canal to see | :00:32. | :00:35.
five according what you see on this could help some of our rarest | :00:35. | :00:39.
species. Two elephants die within weeks at | :00:39. | :00:46.
Chester Zoo. Keepers say they're concerned for the rest of the herd. | :00:46. | :00:52.
And we will be finding out why this fire engine also be that lack fire | :00:52. | :01:02.
engine will soon be welcoming people into Leyland. | :01:02. | :01:07.
A man has been killed and -- A man's been killed and his teenage daughter | :01:07. | :01:11.
is fighting for her life after they were attacked at their home in | :01:11. | :01:12.
Manchester. 41-year-old Robert Jackson, who's | :01:12. | :01:15.
been described as a popular and quiet man, and 13-year-old Ayesha | :01:15. | :01:22.
were stabbed at their home in Moston last night. Chief Reporter joins us | :01:22. | :01:30.
from the scene. There is a police presence here tonight. It was at 20 | :01:30. | :01:34.
past ten last night that the police got the call to come here following | :01:34. | :01:39.
reports of a disturbance. Inside, they found Robert Jackson and his | :01:39. | :01:44.
13-year-old daughter, seriously injured. Throughout the day to day, | :01:44. | :01:47.
comings and goings as detectives tried to work out exactly what led | :01:47. | :01:51.
to this tragedy. Meanwhile, the people in this area have one | :01:51. | :01:58.
question: Why did happen? Throughout the day, a steady procession of | :01:58. | :02:03.
people left and blowers in memory of Robert Jackson. He was very nice. He | :02:03. | :02:12.
would do anything for anybody. Did he have any enemies? No. I have | :02:12. | :02:18.
never known a bad word said about him. Robert and his daughter was | :02:18. | :02:22.
stabbed at this house in Moston last night. Robert died and his daughter | :02:22. | :02:30.
was badly hurt. She is a very nice, quiet little girl. We see her with | :02:30. | :02:36.
the neighbours and she talks to my little girl. It has been suggested | :02:36. | :02:39.
that the teenager may have been injured as she tried to protect her | :02:39. | :02:43.
brother. Of course, detectives will not now exactly what happened until | :02:43. | :02:47.
they are able to interview her, and then that could be some time yet. | :02:47. | :02:51.
But the violence in the house was not the end of the drama. The | :02:51. | :02:59.
attacker fled from the scene and, as short time later, flagged down a car | :02:59. | :03:02.
at about half a mile from the scene. The driver was forced out at | :03:02. | :03:07.
knife-point and the car was driven. A short time later the vehicle was | :03:07. | :03:10.
seen close to a pub on Rochdale Road. As police officers approached | :03:10. | :03:16.
it, the car was driven into the pub wall. The man inside died later as a | :03:16. | :03:20.
result of stab wounds and injuries sustained in the impact. It has left | :03:20. | :03:27.
the people of this community stunned and sad. I felt sick. He was the | :03:27. | :03:31.
nicest man you could ever meet. He would bend over backwards to help | :03:31. | :03:39.
anybody. We are all shocked. We just can't get our heads around it. | :03:39. | :03:44.
Meanwhile, the investigation continues. And here on the street | :03:44. | :03:50.
the flowers, the mountain of flowers, has continued to grow | :03:50. | :03:54.
throughout the day. The police investigation continues tonight. The | :03:54. | :04:01.
13-year-old girl tonight is still critically ill in hospital. When she | :04:01. | :04:04.
recovers enough to speak to detectives, hopefully, they may then | :04:04. | :04:07.
begin to piece together the events that led up to the tragedy here in | :04:07. | :04:14.
Moston last night. Back to you. Thank you. | :04:14. | :04:18.
When you call any kind of helpline you trust that you'll be pointed in | :04:18. | :04:21.
the right direction and receive the right kind of treatment. But | :04:21. | :04:24.
teething problem for the NHS's non emergency 111 service have led to | :04:25. | :04:27.
tales of calls going unanswered, poor advice being given and even | :04:28. | :04:31.
people being rushed to A&E in an ambulance when they just needed to | :04:31. | :04:37.
see their GP. It left many patients not knowing where to turn. And now | :04:37. | :04:41.
the contractor which provides the service in the North West says it's | :04:41. | :04:44.
pulling out because it can't afford to run it. Health unions say this | :04:44. | :04:48.
has left the service in chaos. Andy Gill's here to explain what's going | :04:48. | :04:53.
on. Thank you. The 111 service replaced the old | :04:53. | :04:59.
0845 NHS Direct number in April. But NHS Direct, a health trust, now runs | :04:59. | :05:01.
the new service in three areas in the new service in three areas in | :05:01. | :05:07.
the North West. NHS Direct says nationally, it's heading for a 26 | :05:07. | :05:14.
million pounds deficit. Why? Well, calls to its north west services are | :05:14. | :05:18.
40 per cent down compared to calls to the old service. And it's now | :05:18. | :05:22.
paid at most 8 per call compared to 20 per call under the 0845 number. | :05:22. | :05:25.
One Merseyside GP says some callers have been wrongly advised. And the | :05:25. | :05:35.
:05:35. | :05:38. | ||
NHS awarded the 111 contracts based on cost rather than service. I am a | :05:38. | :05:39.
taxpayer and they'd either e-mails taxpayer and they'd either e-mails | :05:39. | :05:43.
look at the cost But I would be interested in knowing what the cost | :05:43. | :05:50.
of this fiasco is. I think actually, to try and dig us out of this hole, | :05:50. | :05:56.
will cost us a lot more. We should will cost us a lot more. We should | :05:56. | :06:00.
make sure that things are correct. The North West 111 service is run | :06:00. | :06:03.
from two call centres. One at Middlebrook near Bolton employs 128 | :06:03. | :06:06.
call handlers. Another at Carlisle employs 17. NHS Direct says at the | :06:06. | :06:09.
moment these jobs aren't under threat and should be transferred to | :06:09. | :06:13.
whoever takes over the contract. whoever takes over the contract. | :06:13. | :06:20.
Labour say there were problems from In Greater Manchester on the launch | :06:20. | :06:25.
weekend, there was utter chaos. It came close to collapse. The trouble | :06:25. | :06:29.
is, ministers did not listen to the warnings that were being made. They | :06:29. | :06:32.
were told in advance that the system would not work because it did not | :06:32. | :06:35.
have enough staff. The Government says after initial problems, | :06:35. | :06:38.
performance and patient satisfaction are now high. NHS Direct will | :06:38. | :06:48.
:06:48. | :06:49. | ||
continue to run the services until a new provider takes over. Thank you. | :06:49. | :06:53.
Joining us now is Dr Amanda Boyle from NHS North West. She is the | :06:53. | :07:02.
Clinical Lead for NHS 111. Good evening. How long before NHS Direct | :07:02. | :07:11.
actually stop providing the service and what happens then? What we are | :07:11. | :07:20.
doing is... PROBLEM WITH SOUND. We will not stop | :07:20. | :07:23.
providing the service in the north-west until there are interim | :07:23. | :07:31.
issues in place. There will not be a break in service for patients. NHS | :07:31. | :07:34.
Direct will continue until we have got another tentative provider in | :07:34. | :07:44.
:07:44. | :07:45. | ||
place. -- another provider in place. But who will take this on? We have | :07:45. | :07:51.
looked at the market and we will be going out to do procurement later in | :07:51. | :07:56.
the year to find any provider for the service. But there is every | :07:56. | :07:58.
indication that there are organisations that will be keen and | :07:58. | :08:05.
able to take this on. And in the meantime, we keep on dialling 111 in | :08:05. | :08:11.
a nonemergency? Absolutely. In the meantime, patients in the north-west | :08:11. | :08:17.
continue as they were before. And lots of parts of the north-west, the | :08:17. | :08:21.
111 service continues to be operational. We have got a range of | :08:21. | :08:25.
providers providing the service in the interim. The GP out of hours | :08:25. | :08:29.
service and the Ambulance Service are currently taken some goals for | :08:29. | :08:33.
us. Patients should not worry. They should call 111 when they should | :08:33. | :08:43.
call one-on-one with any disservice. -- when they need a service. Why has | :08:43. | :08:49.
the service had so many problems? think the big problems in the | :08:49. | :08:53.
north-west are largely because of the problems that NHS direct has had | :08:53. | :08:59.
including the service in place. So from the launch at the end of March, | :08:59. | :09:03.
it very quickly became apparent that NHS Direct were not able to handle | :09:04. | :09:07.
the volume of calls. And so we put alternatives in place pretty quickly | :09:07. | :09:10.
at that point to make sure that there was a safe service for | :09:10. | :09:15.
patients. And we have continued to work since then with NHS Direct. | :09:15. | :09:21.
Currently, they are taking about 30% of the calls in the north-west, and | :09:21. | :09:25.
there are alternative providers taking the other 70% of the calls. | :09:25. | :09:31.
But at no point after those first 24 hours has lived in a lack of service | :09:31. | :09:34.
in place and the Northwest. I'm currently, the provisional service | :09:34. | :09:42.
is very good. Thank you for joining us. Let's get some other news from | :09:42. | :09:44.
around the region now. A man from Bootle, who's accused of | :09:44. | :09:47.
attacking the websites of two multi-national banks, has been | :09:47. | :09:49.
arrested. Officers from Titan, the North West Regional Organised Crime | :09:49. | :09:53.
Unit, arrested the 50-year-old man at a house in Farmer Place. It's | :09:53. | :09:56.
also alleged he's behind attacks on a council's website and a court | :09:56. | :10:01.
advisory service. Three people have been questioned | :10:01. | :10:05.
after a partially decomposed body was found in a house in Knowsley. | :10:05. | :10:08.
The man, thought to be in his twenties, was discovered on Reeds | :10:08. | :10:12.
Road in Huyton. Tests so far haven't been able to reveal how he died, so | :10:12. | :10:16.
he can't be formally identified. The M61's been closed this evening | :10:16. | :10:20.
after a hand grenade was found in Blackrod. Bomb disposal officers | :10:20. | :10:24.
were called to a building on Station Road close to the motorway which was | :10:24. | :10:29.
shut in both directions between junctions six and eight. | :10:29. | :10:31.
The Manchester-based Co-op is threatening to take lads magazines | :10:31. | :10:35.
off the shelves of its shops unless publishers cover them up in sealed | :10:35. | :10:40.
bags. It says it's responding to the concerns of customers over some of | :10:40. | :10:45.
the images on the covers. The new Universal Credit is now | :10:45. | :10:50.
available to people in Warrington and Oldham. They're the latest towns | :10:50. | :10:53.
to pilot the single benefit which replaces six others, including | :10:53. | :10:56.
income support. The Government says a trial in Ashton-under-Lyne has | :10:56. | :10:59.
shown most people there have now made the change to making claims | :10:59. | :11:04.
online. The man accused of murdering a | :11:04. | :11:07.
mother of two from Salford has appeared in court. Michael Cope was | :11:07. | :11:10.
arrested on Friday night at an address in Leigh. | :11:10. | :11:13.
He's charged with the murder of Linzi Ashton who was found dead at | :11:13. | :11:18.
her home last month with multiple injuries. Yesterday friends and | :11:18. | :11:25.
family organised a charity event in her memory. Elaine Dunkley reports. | :11:25. | :11:28.
Linzi Ashton, described by friends and family as a young woman who | :11:28. | :11:32.
could light up a room, was found murdered in her home in Salford four | :11:32. | :11:37.
weeks ago. Yesterday a fun run was organised in her memory and to raise | :11:37. | :11:40.
money for her two young daughters Destiny and Daisy, who both took | :11:40. | :11:49.
part. They love their mother to bits. They add the image of her as | :11:49. | :11:55.
well. The whole community is grieving. It is why everyone has | :11:55. | :11:58.
come together and created this day to try and get something positive | :11:58. | :12:02.
and celebrate her life. This is Micheal Cope, the man suspected of | :12:02. | :12:06.
killing her. He was arrested on Friday at an address in Leigh after | :12:06. | :12:09.
going on the run. An appeal for his whereabouts was featured on the BBC | :12:09. | :12:12.
Crimewatch programme and a 25,000 was offered to the public for | :12:12. | :12:16.
information leading to an arrest. Michael Cope today appeared at | :12:16. | :12:19.
Manchester Magistrates' Court charged with murder, assault and | :12:19. | :12:23.
rape. He spoke briefly to confirm his name and date of birth before | :12:23. | :12:26.
being remanded into custody. He'll appear at Manchester Crown Court | :12:26. | :12:36.
:12:36. | :12:39. | ||
tomorrow. Still to come: Rising from the | :12:39. | :12:42.
ashes. Whatever happened to an unlikely hero from the 2005 | :12:42. | :12:47.
victory? And going to blazes. The restored | :12:47. | :12:55.
fire engine set to give a warm welcome to visitors to Lancashire. | :12:55. | :13:05.

A young elephant has died at Chester Zoo. Jamila died three weeks ago | :13:09. | :13:12.
from elephant herpes. And this morning came the sad news Nayan had | :13:12. | :13:22.
:13:22. | :13:25. | ||
died too. It usually kills them in 24-hour 's. | :13:25. | :13:35.
:13:35. | :13:40. | ||
They were best friends, in fact, cousins. Nayan, the larger one, a | :13:41. | :13:43.
year older than Jamilla. Jamila died three weeks ago from elephant | :13:43. | :13:49.
herpes. And this morning came the sad news Nayan had died too. He had | :13:49. | :13:52.
been for about a week. It happens all over the prisons all over the | :13:52. | :14:00.
world. -- zoos. There are now eight Asian elephants at Chester Zoo | :14:00. | :14:04.
including two babies - who are only a few months old. The sad fact | :14:04. | :14:14.
:14:14. | :14:14. | ||
anyone of these elephants could die as there is no cure for the disease. | :14:14. | :14:17.
Like human viruses, finding a vaccine is very, very difficult and | :14:17. | :14:22.
expensive. Andy is the head elephant keeper at the Zoo. He was here with | :14:22. | :14:29.
Nayan late last night and was with him when he died. One of the most | :14:29. | :14:33.
upsetting times in my career so far. It is not going to get any more | :14:33. | :14:39.
difficult than that, I do not think. What are you doing to make sure the | :14:39. | :14:45.
rest of the elephants are healthy? We are able to inspect them on a | :14:45. | :14:49.
daily basis. We are taking temperatures from them every day. | :14:49. | :14:53.
But the youngest we do it twice a day. It's hoped research will open | :14:53. | :14:57.
doors to a cure for this disease to stop it from killing any more young | :14:57. | :15:00.
elephants, not just here but across the world, giving the elephants like | :15:00. | :15:10.
:15:10. | :15:10. | ||
six-month-old Bala a happy, healthy future. That is sad. Next tonight, a | :15:11. | :15:13.
new scheme to help preserve wildlife on canals is being launched and | :15:14. | :15:23.
:15:24. | :15:24. | ||
organisers want the public to help. The Canal and River Trust says it | :15:24. | :15:27.
wants to know what kinds of vegetation exist along every inch of | :15:27. | :15:30.
its waterways. They want the public to fill in information online. It'll | :15:30. | :15:33.
help them to preserve the most vital wildlife areas. Our Environment | :15:33. | :15:37.
Correspondent Judy Hobson has been to a stretch of canal at Nantwich in | :15:37. | :15:39.
Cheshire. The Shropshire union canal is always | :15:39. | :15:44.
busy at this time of year. But how much notice people really take of | :15:44. | :15:47.
their surroundings? Canals are a sanctuary for much of our wildife - | :15:47. | :15:50.
providing vital habitats for many of our rarest species. The Canal and | :15:51. | :15:54.
Rivers Trust wants to know which areas are the most important. | :15:54. | :15:57.
really important that the species that we all love to see, dragonflies | :15:57. | :16:02.
and water voles and ducks, it is important that they have a good | :16:02. | :16:05.
habitat. We need to know about the habitats that we can safeguard them | :16:05. | :16:09.
and manage them properly so that the habitats are there for them to live | :16:09. | :16:13.
in. The Canal and River Trust are asking the public to go onto their | :16:13. | :16:16.
website or download a free app and fill in information. They want to a | :16:16. | :16:19.
record of every type of habitat along the waterways, from hedges, | :16:19. | :16:24.
trees and wild flowers to reeds. When they are doing maintenance on | :16:24. | :16:27.
canals, if we know the habitat is there, we know where we will need to | :16:27. | :16:32.
take special care. Earlier this year a report into the state of nature | :16:32. | :16:36.
studied 3,100 of our most common species 60% had declined over the | :16:36. | :16:38.
past 50 years. Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has | :16:38. | :16:41.
spoken out against the club's decision to let him join Napoli on | :16:41. | :16:43.
loan, declaring himself 'disappointed and surprised' by the | :16:43. | :16:53.

-- water voles are one of the rarest. I thought we would never see | :16:55. | :17:02.
them again. There is a lot to see done here. More than you think. | :17:02. | :17:06.
simply, if we do not take care, many of these animals and plants may not | :17:06. | :17:13.
be here for much longer. Now, time for the sport. A | :17:13. | :17:21.
record-breaking weekend for one of our rugby teams. Brilliant news for | :17:21. | :17:31.
:17:31. | :17:31. | ||
the Warrington Watchers. But football first of all. | :17:31. | :17:34.
Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has spoken out against the club's | :17:34. | :17:37.
decision to let him join Napoli on loan, declaring himself | :17:37. | :17:40.
'disappointed and surprised' by the move. Reina has written an open | :17:40. | :17:43.
letter to fans on the club's website where he thanks them for his support | :17:43. | :17:46.
but also reveals that Liverpool agreed the move before speaking to | :17:46. | :17:49.
him about it. There are fears that Bolton | :17:49. | :17:51.
midfielder Stuart Holden has seriously injured the knee that has | :17:51. | :17:55.
caused him to miss almost two years of football. Holden was injured in | :17:55. | :17:58.
the 18th minute of the Gold Cup Final between his USA team and | :17:58. | :18:01.
Panama last night. American coach Jurgen Klinsmann said afterwards | :18:01. | :18:05.
that the injury looked very serious and he was very concerned. Hopefully | :18:05. | :18:10.
it is not as bad as people here. -- year. | :18:10. | :18:14.
The fact that it was the most thrilling semi final for years is no | :18:14. | :18:17.
consolation to Warrington Wolves players and fans after they missed | :18:17. | :18:20.
out on a place in the Challenge Cup Final yesterday. They went down | :18:20. | :18:23.
16-12 to Hull in Huddersfield, despite a dominant second half | :18:23. | :18:26.
display in which they bombarded the opposition's line right to the final | :18:26. | :18:30.
hooter. We had been hoping for an all north-west final after Wigan's | :18:30. | :18:33.
demolition job in Saturday's semi. The Warriors took London broncos | :18:33. | :18:39.
apart, beating their Super League rivals by 70 points to nil. I could | :18:39. | :18:46.
not quite believe that score. What a way to get to Wembley. | :18:46. | :18:50.
They won it two years ago and this young Wigan side are in prime form | :18:50. | :19:00.
:19:00. | :19:19. | ||
last year against Leeds. This is the ticket office at the stadium and | :19:19. | :19:22.
getting one of your hands on these precious tickets for the final is | :19:22. | :19:29.
what it is all about for fans now. After the weekend, they will be | :19:29. | :19:38.
understandably confident that this is their year. Definitely. Simple. | :19:38. | :19:41.
think we will beat Hull, but I think it will be close and a really good | :19:41. | :19:51.
:19:51. | :19:54. | ||
game. We're ready for Hull. He's got space, can he make it all the way? | :19:54. | :19:59.
And he goes. The final against Hull FC is a | :19:59. | :20:03.
repeat of the thriller in 1985, which Wigan just edged. Part of an | :20:03. | :20:06.
era of dominance for the Cherry and Whites who made Wembley their second | :20:06. | :20:14.
home. Could it be happening again? They are bringing a lot of new | :20:14. | :20:20.
players through. I have been a supporter since I was 16 years old, | :20:20. | :20:24.
so I have been to a few, and I'm looking forward to this one just as | :20:24. | :20:28.
much as the others. And you won't find too many people outside Hull | :20:28. | :20:33.
betting against more silverware for Wigan's golden generation. | :20:33. | :20:36.
The Isle of Man's famous TT races could be expanded with organisers | :20:36. | :20:40.
hoping to stage a world series of motorcycle races based on the TT | :20:40. | :20:43.
brand. The Manx Government says it's already looked at suitable venues | :20:43. | :20:49.
and is hoping some stages will be held abroad. | :20:49. | :20:53.
Cricket now - and the Ashes return to Old Trafford this week for the | :20:53. | :20:57.
first time since 2005. One of the heroes of that series was Gary | :20:57. | :20:59.
Pratt, England's twelfth man, who famously ran out the Australian | :21:00. | :21:04.
captain Ricky Ponting. But where is he now? Stuart Pollitt tracked him | :21:04. | :21:14.
:21:14. | :21:22. | ||
down. I picked the ball and it cool. -- and let it go. I suppose it will | :21:22. | :21:29.
be talked about for years to come. He was the fielding hero who threw | :21:29. | :21:32.
himself into ashes folklore, adding himself to the glorious cricketing | :21:32. | :21:38.
summer of 2005. Nobody had seen anything like it. That was | :21:38. | :21:46.
absolutely fantastic. Eight years on, you will find him any more | :21:46. | :21:50.
relaxed cricketing environment. That is because just one year after his | :21:50. | :21:55.
Ashes heroics, Arie was released by his county, Durham. Since 2006, he | :21:55. | :22:00.
has been playing on grounds like this in the Minor counties | :22:00. | :22:08.
Championships. To get released from Durham when I was 23 or 24 was a bit | :22:08. | :22:14.
disappointing. That probably did not help me. At the tender was a lot of | :22:14. | :22:22.
attention, and it did not help my career. A lot of players when they | :22:22. | :22:27.
get the least become very disillusioned. In his situation, | :22:27. | :22:30.
he's rediscovered his love for cricket because he is playing in an | :22:30. | :22:36.
environment that he really enjoys. He is an adopted, brain. -- | :22:36. | :22:45.
Cumbrian. I do the best field in the team? No. Did you ever speak to | :22:46. | :22:54.
Ricky Ponting? There was no animosity towards me whatsoever. | :22:54. | :22:57.
While Ricky Ponting has called time on his career, Gary is still going | :22:57. | :23:05.
strong. He will always be a hero in my eyes. | :23:05. | :23:09.
And how about this for a last gasp victory. American Mark Weibe beat | :23:09. | :23:12.
Bernhard Langer at the fifth play-off hole in the senior open at | :23:12. | :23:15.
Royal Birkdale.They couldn't be separated last night so came back | :23:15. | :23:17.
this morning to finish the tournament. The event attracted a | :23:17. | :23:27.
record crowd of more than 45,000. They had to deal with thunder and | :23:27. | :23:30.
lightning and everything. And playing during the dark. I think | :23:30. | :23:35.
that is the only way I would win around. If they could bring that in, | :23:35. | :23:41.
I could win. Visitors to Leyland will soon be | :23:41. | :23:45.
greeted by a 75-year-old fire engine restored to its former glory. It was | :23:46. | :23:48.
built at the town's famous truck factory and rediscovered only | :23:48. | :23:53.
recently on eBay. Today it was carefully manoeuvred into a glass | :23:53. | :23:57.
display case next to one of the main routes into the town, and Naomi | :23:57. | :24:05.
Cornwell was there. The many years, she fought fires and | :24:05. | :24:10.
saved lives, but now Norma has come home to her birthplace. Named after | :24:10. | :24:14.
the wife of the man who resort, normal average middle of the | :24:14. | :24:20.
production mine in Leyland in 1938 and was part of the National Service | :24:20. | :24:26.
Fleet during the Second World War. What is unusual about it is the | :24:26. | :24:30.
length of the ladder for a town like this. That does not have high | :24:30. | :24:35.
buildings. We are not sure why it is there. But it's at least 130 feet | :24:35. | :24:37.
high when extended. We do not know how many lives were saved with that | :24:37. | :24:46.
ladder. Norma was seen on eBay and the council got together with the | :24:46. | :24:49.
National Commercial Beacon Museum to try and find a way to bring her | :24:49. | :24:58.
home. They paid a local businessmen to pay for her. There is an enormous | :24:58. | :25:03.
amount of pride and Leyland heritage and all of that. Hence, the vehicle | :25:03. | :25:09.
Museum is in Leyland itself. will be officially unveiled on the | :25:09. | :25:15.
8th of August. Very nice. Everybody streamed, | :25:15. | :25:23.
driving a fire engine. Never happened. -- everybody's dream. It | :25:23. | :25:29.
could probably be arranged? could probably be arranged? | :25:29. | :25:36.
Probably. Oh, dear. Good evening! You can tell by our | :25:36. | :25:43.
clouds the weather that we will have tonight. As we speak, there are | :25:43. | :25:47.
still one or two showers around. If you follow them through the day, | :25:47. | :25:51.
they have been built is. I have never seen as many lightning reports | :25:51. | :25:55.
for many, many years. The thunder has been rumbling everywhere. The | :25:55. | :26:03.
Isle of Man has done really well today, and so have many parts of | :26:03. | :26:08.
Merseyside. This is our six o'clock pitcher, sleek until CBR around, but | :26:08. | :26:14.
they are mainly of the Pennines. However, Greater Manchester and | :26:14. | :26:17.
Derbyshire are still under a warning that if you get one of the showers | :26:17. | :26:21.
until around 9pm tonight, they could be torrential. If they do turn up, | :26:21. | :26:25.
they will be very powerful. The story of the night is that they will | :26:25. | :26:29.
die away and most places will have patchy cloud and long, clear spells. | :26:29. | :26:35.
If you catch a shower you will notice it. Temperatures will | :26:35. | :26:40.
continue to be what we have seen recently, between 13 and 17 degrees. | :26:40. | :26:43.
You can see the showers that to build and that is the picture | :26:43. | :26:52.
tomorrow. They can appear anywhere, everywhere will stop -- everywhere. | :26:52. | :26:56.
Considering the coast missed most of it, you may see one of two of them | :26:56. | :27:00.
tomorrow and you will think, well, we got more than we had today. So it | :27:00. | :27:05.
is kind of a balancing act. But away from the showers there will be some | :27:05. | :27:08.
decent sunshine. We are talking about a high of 19 or 20 degrees. | :27:08. | :27:13.
After that, this weather front says that Wednesday will be a wet day, | :27:13. | :27:16.
but by Thursday, the warm air comes back and we could be back at 27 | :27:16. | :27:23.
degrees. Fantastic! And the only one who is | :27:23. | :27:31. |
