Good evening. Welcome to North West Tonight with Annabel Tiffin and | :00:00. | :00:00.
Peter Marshall. Our top story.. The teenage bank robber handed in by | :00:07. | :00:10.
his own mum ` tonight, he's beginning a three`year sentence The | :00:11. | :00:14.
judge praises his mum for "remarkable public spirit." Tonight, | :00:15. | :00:17.
we speak to another parent who faced the same moral dilemma. It is | :00:18. | :00:26.
difficult but what you you do? To know that situation, you have to | :00:27. | :00:33.
report it. When Neil McArdle forgot to fit finalise his booking, he | :00:34. | :00:41.
decided to create a bomb scare. Find out what happened later. | :00:42. | :00:45.
Given just months to live with an aggressive brain tumour ` two years | :00:46. | :00:48.
on, we meet the Lancashire man who's defied the odds. | :00:49. | :00:51.
Fergie's Book of Revelations ` what he really thought about his star | :00:52. | :00:55.
players. And join me and the cost of a new | :00:56. | :00:59.
BBC drama set in 1976 in the aftermath of the IRA Manchester | :01:00. | :01:01.
bombing. The mother of a 15`year`old boy who | :01:02. | :01:13.
carried out an armed bank robbery in Liverpool was today commended by | :01:14. | :01:16.
police and a judge for handing her son in. The teenager, who can't be | :01:17. | :01:20.
named, was sentenced to more than three years in detention after | :01:21. | :01:23.
pleading guilty to armed robbery and possession of an imitation firearm. | :01:24. | :01:26.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that he was a boy "of impeccable character" | :01:27. | :01:29.
who acted through greed and whose family were "innocent casualties in | :01:30. | :01:34.
the drama." Naomi Cornwell is at the bank where it all began. | :01:35. | :01:42.
When the staff here at the Breck Road branch of Barclays were | :01:43. | :01:45.
terrified by a gun`wielding robber just over a month ago, neither they | :01:46. | :01:49.
nor the police suspected that the man responsible was in fact a | :01:50. | :01:52.
15`year`old boy. Nor that it would be his own mother who'd hand him in. | :01:53. | :01:58.
But as Liverpool Crown Court heard over and over again today, this was | :01:59. | :02:05.
an exceptional case. "However innocent you look now, | :02:06. | :02:07.
sitting there in your smart suit," Judge Clement Goldstone QC told the | :02:08. | :02:11.
boy today, "you did not look innocent when you held up the bank | :02:12. | :02:14.
staff at gunpoint and terrified them." For that, he wore a hood and | :02:15. | :02:20.
covered his face with a scarf. The 15`year`old was caught on CCTV as he | :02:21. | :02:23.
pointed the gun at two cashiers and a customer. The ?2,200 he stole was | :02:24. | :02:27.
later found in his bedroom wardrobe by his mother. After discovering the | :02:28. | :02:32.
gun, too, she took him to a police station and handed him in. An act | :02:33. | :02:35.
Judge Goldstone today commended describing it as a remarkable | :02:36. | :02:44.
display of public spirit. I cannot commend his family highly enough. | :02:45. | :02:49.
Having identified and realise he has committed that event, do have the | :02:50. | :02:52.
right morals to bring him to the police station, where he has | :02:53. | :02:55.
admitted the offence of robbery Detectives had had no clues as to | :02:56. | :02:58.
the robber's identity. His family's was the only evidence against him. | :02:59. | :03:02.
Neil Metcalfe knows how that feels. He called police after finding | :03:03. | :03:06.
bullets in his son's bedroom in Nelson in Lancashire. It led to a | :03:07. | :03:09.
three`year sentence for his son Paul, but Neil doesn't regret making | :03:10. | :03:15.
that call. It is difficult, but what do you do? | :03:16. | :03:22.
You either bring it to the police or do you let someone who owned the | :03:23. | :03:27.
gun, looking for it, so they come looking for the gun and someone will | :03:28. | :03:31.
get shot? Do you want that? You don't order any trouble, so it is a | :03:32. | :03:35.
no`win situation. You have to report it. At Liverpool Crown Court, the | :03:36. | :03:38.
15`year`old had pleaded guilty to bank robbery and possession of an | :03:39. | :03:41.
imitation firearm. Sentencing him to 39 months and two weeks in | :03:42. | :03:44.
detention, Judge Goldstone noted that the boy had done it out of | :03:45. | :03:48.
greed because his family was of limited means and he envied his | :03:49. | :03:51.
friends who had more than he had. Tonight, he's beginning a sentence | :03:52. | :03:55.
that won't see him returned to his family until he's at least 17 years | :03:56. | :04:01.
old. The judge acknowledged that this 15`year`old will be vulnerable | :04:02. | :04:04.
in custody and will be exposed to others of a more sophisticated | :04:05. | :04:10.
criminal nature inside. But he said it was important to show other boys | :04:11. | :04:13.
what the consequences of such actions could be. As for his mother, | :04:14. | :04:17.
the court heard she's angry and upset with her son but also feels a | :04:18. | :04:21.
strong sense of responsibility for taking him to police. | :04:22. | :04:28.
Thank you very much. Lots of you have been getting in | :04:29. | :04:31.
touch about this on our Facebook page. Mandy Donnelly says, "I would | :04:32. | :04:37.
do the same, even though it would break my heart, as I'm sure his | :04:38. | :04:39.
mother's heart is broken." Thank you for all of your Facebook | :04:40. | :05:16.
comments. If you want to joining discussion, you can do so on | :05:17. | :05:19.
Facebook. Next tonight ` two police officers | :05:20. | :05:23.
have been sacked after a man was unlawfully arrested and shot five | :05:24. | :05:26.
times with a Taser gun in Liverpool. The Independent Police Complaints | :05:27. | :05:28.
Commission upheld a complaint by Kyle McArdle, who was arrested for | :05:29. | :05:32.
urinating in an alley in 2009. Peter has more. | :05:33. | :05:37.
This is Kyle McArdle and he's had a four`year fight. In 2009, he was | :05:38. | :05:41.
caught urinating in an alleyway and placed in the back of a police van | :05:42. | :05:44.
where officers claimed he was violent. He was then tasered five | :05:45. | :05:48.
times. An officer also removed the Taser barbs from his chest, when | :05:49. | :05:52.
guidelines state that should be done by a medical professional in all but | :05:53. | :05:56.
exceptional circumstances. Mr McCardle lodged a complaint with | :05:57. | :06:04.
Merseyside Police. There is CCTV evidence in relation to this, | :06:05. | :06:08.
Council footage that shows in walking to the vehicle in a calm and | :06:09. | :06:12.
controlled manner. That is consistent with what he said all | :06:13. | :06:15.
along that he was calm and was expected to get a ticket for | :06:16. | :06:21.
urinating and then it all kicked off in the back of the vehicle and it | :06:22. | :06:24.
was alleged that he had been violent and had tried to attack a number of | :06:25. | :06:27.
police officers. Mr McArdle was unhappy that his complaints were not | :06:28. | :06:30.
taken seriously and appealed to the Independent Police Complaints | :06:31. | :06:32.
Commission. Then came an internal inquiry followed by a second appeal | :06:33. | :06:36.
to the IPCC. That appeal was upheld and has now resulted in the | :06:37. | :06:44.
dismissal of the two officers. We have upheld two appeals that Mr | :06:45. | :06:49.
McArdle broke through about his complaint. We felt that the force | :06:50. | :06:53.
should have been able to deal with these matters the first time he made | :06:54. | :06:57.
a complaint and without the need for the IPCC to get involved and have to | :06:58. | :07:01.
hear his appeal. It improves public confidence if the police are able to | :07:02. | :07:05.
sort things out quickly at local level, without the need for the IPCC | :07:06. | :07:10.
to get involved. Latest Home Office figures show that Taser use by | :07:11. | :07:13.
police across the North West rose in the three years between 2009 and | :07:14. | :07:16.
2011. In that time, Greater Manchester Police deployed them | :07:17. | :07:19.
nearly 1,500 times. Lancashire, 566 times Merseyside, 370 times. In | :07:20. | :07:28.
Cumbria, the figure was 230. And in Cheshire, 155. The IPCC says it | :07:29. | :07:30.
recognises there is public concern over the increase and says they | :07:31. | :07:34.
should only be used as a last resort. Merseyside Police says its | :07:35. | :07:38.
absolutely committed to maintaining the highest professional standards | :07:39. | :07:46.
of its officers at all times. Thank you very much. | :07:47. | :07:49.

Stuart Hall is to be stripped of his OBE. Hall, from Wilmslow in | :07:53. | :07:55.
Cheshire, admitted 14 indecent assaults against girls aged from | :07:56. | :08:01.
nine to 17 between 1967 and 198 . In July, his 15`month sentence was | :08:02. | :08:06.
doubled by the Court of Appeal. A 28`year`old man's been arrested | :08:07. | :08:09.
after an ambulance worker was knocked unconscious by a patient. | :08:10. | :08:13.
The team were answering an emergency call on Blackfriars Road in Salford | :08:14. | :08:16.
early this morning. Last week, another paramedic was attacked in | :08:17. | :08:20.
Leyland in Lancashire. There are to be no prosecutions | :08:21. | :08:23.
after a six`month investigation into who was responsible for leaking the | :08:24. | :08:26.
Cumbria's Crime Commissioner's expenses claims for chauffeur`driven | :08:27. | :08:32.
cars. Richard Rhodes' office called in the police to investigate the | :08:33. | :08:36.
leak and a number of arrests were made. The Crown Prosecution service | :08:37. | :08:39.
has now ruled the leak was in the public interest. Mr Rhodes has since | :08:40. | :08:43.
repaid the money. It's been announced that the North | :08:44. | :08:46.
Liverpool Community Justice Centre is to close. The Government says the | :08:47. | :08:50.
centre in Kirkdale, which opened in 2005, is being underused. The | :08:51. | :08:55.
majority of the centre's work will be transferred to Sefton. | :08:56. | :08:59.
And plans to more than double the size of the Walney offshore wind | :09:00. | :09:03.

Danish firm wants to add more than 200 new turbines, which would again | :09:07. | :09:10.
make it the largest wind farm of its kind in the world. | :09:11. | :09:16.
It should have been the happiest day of her life. But when Amy Williams | :09:17. | :09:19.
arrived at the venue for her wedding, the place was in turmoil ` | :09:20. | :09:23.
there'd been a bomb scare. And the culprit who placed the hoax call? It | :09:24. | :09:26.
was her own husband`to`be. Today, it landed him in court. And, tonight, | :09:27. | :09:30.
he's beginning a 12`month prison sentence. Here's our Chief Reporter, | :09:31. | :09:34.
Dave Guest. Historic St George's Hall in | :09:35. | :09:37.
Liverpool is the picture perfect place for a wedding. Neil McArdle | :09:38. | :09:41.
and Amy Williams planned to wed here last April. But on the day before | :09:42. | :09:45.
their big day, McArdle realised he'd forgotten to complete the paperwork, | :09:46. | :09:50.
and the wedding couldn't go ahead. But instead of telling his bride | :09:51. | :09:54.
what he'd done, he hatched a bizarre plot to create a diversion. As his | :09:55. | :09:58.
fiancee was getting into her dress, he popped round the corner near | :09:59. | :10:02.
their home in Kirkby and phoned St George's Hall. He told a startled | :10:03. | :10:07.
operator, "This is not a hoax. There's a bomb in St George's Hall. | :10:08. | :10:16.
It'll go off in 45 minutes." When the bride arrived here, surrounded | :10:17. | :10:20.
by a family and friends, she found the place in chaos. McArdle hope | :10:21. | :10:24.
that in the chaos, the venue would have cancelled all weddings for the | :10:25. | :10:29.
day, buying him time to make alternative arrangements will stop | :10:30. | :10:32.
once the all clear was given, a member of staff ushered the party | :10:33. | :10:36.
into the building and then the truth was discovered. There was no wedding | :10:37. | :10:39.
booked in the name of McArdle. At Liverpool Crown Court, he admitted | :10:40. | :10:42.
what he'd done. His own barrister said, "If it wasn't so serious, the | :10:43. | :10:46.
facts of this case have all the makings of a comedy." He added his | :10:47. | :10:49.
client knew it was no laughing matter. The judge agreed, jailing | :10:50. | :10:54.
McArdle for 12 months. Meanwhile, his fiancee has stuck with McArdle, | :10:55. | :11:00.
despite everything. As yet, there has been no wedding. | :11:01. | :11:06.
Imagine waking up to the horror of your house falling apart around you. | :11:07. | :11:12.
Look at the pictures on the screen there. Well, that's what happened to | :11:13. | :11:16.
Jim Horan on the Isle of Man almost six years ago. The cause was a gas | :11:17. | :11:20.
explosion from a fractured mains pipe in the road outside. The | :11:21. | :11:22.
61`year`old suffered burns and multiple broken bones. Yet he's | :11:23. | :11:25.
never received any compensation but has spent years trying to establish | :11:26. | :11:28.
whether Manx Gas should be held accountable for the blast. Kelly | :11:29. | :11:36.
Foran reports. It is hard to believe four people escape from this. | :11:37. | :11:39.
The Horan family were asleep when an explosion tore through their house. | :11:40. | :11:42.
Jim, his two sons and a friend survived, but his home and all its | :11:43. | :11:51.
memories? Gone. I was widowed in 1986 and we lost all of the photos | :11:52. | :11:57.
of my wife, all of her jewellery. I had paintings my father had done. We | :11:58. | :12:02.
lost those. We cannot replace any of that. A report found that it was | :12:03. | :12:07.
caused by a fractured gas pipe in the road outside. But, six years on, | :12:08. | :12:10.
Jim still hasn't received compensation from the company who | :12:11. | :12:16.
own it, Manx Gas. I am just trying to get Manx Gas to do the honest | :12:17. | :12:22.
thing. They need to make good for the damage and suffering we have | :12:23. | :12:26.
had. This wall of the house was the only thing left standing. Jim and | :12:27. | :12:30.
his family rented a house for nearly two years while this one was | :12:31. | :12:33.
rebuilt. That cost covered by insurance but nothing for his | :12:34. | :12:40.
injuries. I'm in pain every day of some sort or another. It might be | :12:41. | :12:43.
little things, sometimes it is big things. I did not have that before | :12:44. | :12:48.
the explosion. A spokesperson for Manx Gas said, "It is inappropriate | :12:49. | :12:51.
for Manx Gas to comment while proceedings are before the Isle of | :12:52. | :12:57.
Man courts." My bedroom was on that corner... Looking back on the | :12:58. | :13:00.
devastation caused, Jim is, years later, hopeful that his long battle | :13:01. | :13:07.
will soon come to an end. Still to come on North West | :13:08. | :13:11.
Tonight... How to beat the bullies ` the Blackpool schoolchildren writing | :13:12. | :13:15.
their own lessons. And back in the spotlight ` Alex | :13:16. | :13:19.
Ferguson on his star players and some big decisions. | :13:20. | :13:26.
He was told his aggressive brain tumour would kill him within a few | :13:27. | :13:31.
months but, two years later, Jay Lynschehaun from Great Harwood in | :13:32. | :13:34.
Lancashire has just started a new job and a new chapter of life. The | :13:35. | :13:38.
27`year`old has defied the predictions of the experts by living | :13:39. | :13:43.
this long and has now set up a forum to support other young people with | :13:44. | :13:46.
brain cancer. Our Health Correspondent, Nina Warhurst, has | :13:47. | :13:52.
been to meet him. Most people would be pleased with a | :13:53. | :13:56.
swanky new job as a graphic designer. For Jay, it's all the more | :13:57. | :13:59.
special. Two years ago, doctors found a large tumour on his brain | :14:00. | :14:03.
and told him that, even with the best treatment, he could only expect | :14:04. | :14:14.
to live six months. But he is refusing to give in. Especially with | :14:15. | :14:18.
a new job to do. Did you think you would be here two years ago? No | :14:19. | :14:22.
especially not doing graphic design. I'm happy to be doing this. | :14:23. | :14:27.
Brilliant. Jay got the job after his boss saw the designs he'd created on | :14:28. | :14:31.
his website for a charity. He set it up in January to act as a support | :14:32. | :14:35.
forum for young people with brain cancer ` a cause he thinks doesn't | :14:36. | :14:38.
get enough publicity. What is it like when you hear from other young | :14:39. | :14:41.
people who have rain cancer or have just been diagnosed and they get in | :14:42. | :14:45.
touch with you? It is really nice. It is nice to see what they are | :14:46. | :14:50.
going through and it is nice that they have contacted me and it is | :14:51. | :14:55.
nice to help them. I like it. It is really good. The entire community | :14:56. | :14:59.
has got behind Jay's website and perhaps the proudest fundraiser is | :15:00. | :15:05.
his mum. How do you feel when you look at what he has achieved? I am | :15:06. | :15:10.
so incredibly proud. I do not believe where he has come from. He | :15:11. | :15:15.
is amazing. Absolutely amazing. Does the fact that he keep smiling impact | :15:16. | :15:19.
you and you find the strength to be positive? Absolutely. I cannot be | :15:20. | :15:24.
weak in front of him when he is Amazing. | :15:25. | :15:29.
weak in front of him when he is not sure about that but wants to | :15:30. | :15:33.
make it to March, when doctors say he could drive a car again. How | :15:34. | :15:40.
determined do you feel? Very. It is all I want to do, just beat cancer. | :15:41. | :15:50.
A brilliant story. We wish him all the best. | :15:51. | :15:52.
It's an age`old problem that can ruin your school days ` bullying. | :15:53. | :15:55.
Whether it's intimidation on a social networking site or a more | :15:56. | :15:58.
traditional confrontation in the schoolyard, it can be a traumatic | :15:59. | :16:01.
experience. Today, more than 10 shoolchildren got together in | :16:02. | :16:04.
Lancashire to agree ways of tackling the problem. Stuart Flinders was | :16:05. | :16:13.
there. Welcome back. If I can get everyone to turn back to their | :16:14. | :16:15.
workbooks... Every one of these children has some | :16:16. | :16:18.
experience of bullying ` they've seen it or been the victim of it. | :16:19. | :16:22.
Maybe some of them have been the cause of it. So who better to look | :16:23. | :16:27.
to for ideas on how to tackle it? At a school in Blackpool, children from | :16:28. | :16:30.
all over the town are sharing ideas and solutions. We are thinking about | :16:31. | :16:37.
ideas to stop the bullying from happening. How do you do that? How | :16:38. | :16:45.
do you stop bullying? You can tell the teacher and they can sort it | :16:46. | :16:51.
out. The idea is to think of different ways of tackling bullying. | :16:52. | :16:58.
At the end of the day, these children will return to their | :16:59. | :17:07.
schools as antibody in `` anti`bullying ambassadors. Sasha and | :17:08. | :17:09.
Khanittha are graduates of an earlier course. They started calling | :17:10. | :17:14.
me names. It is very upsetting, isn't it? It makes you feel lonely | :17:15. | :17:21.
and hopeless. Is it about specific scenarios and training how you | :17:22. | :17:25.
tackle that? We have a scenario section, looking at different types | :17:26. | :17:30.
of bullying and the children can teach us. That is how it should be. | :17:31. | :17:35.
In small groups, the students consider ways to cope with different | :17:36. | :17:40.
types of bullying. Facebook. You can be anonymous. That is one of the | :17:41. | :17:43.
worst ones, where you can be anonymous and say anything. How do | :17:44. | :17:49.
you cope with that? You block and ignore it and report them. | :17:50. | :17:52.
On the wall a place to share thoughts and ideas... And new words? | :17:53. | :18:01.
What does that mean? I don't know if it is a word but it rhymes. It | :18:02. | :18:11.
doesn't rhyme with bullying! It does! Tomorrow, they'll be back in | :18:12. | :18:16.
their own schools with new ideas on confronting an old problem. Cue the | :18:17. | :18:19.
fireworks now. It's been one of the most | :18:20. | :18:22.
eagerly`awaited books of the year. What would Sir Alex Ferguson have to | :18:23. | :18:26.
say about Rooney, Beckham, Keane and his time at Manchester United? Well, | :18:27. | :18:29.
today, we found out he turned down the England job twice and his views | :18:30. | :18:33.
of the stars he managed when the book was released. Stuart Pollitt | :18:34. | :18:38.
reports. On the cover, he looks suitably | :18:39. | :18:42.
Godfather`like. But at 2pm this afternoon, the book was opened and | :18:43. | :18:45.
we discovered what Fergie thought about his friends, his foes, his | :18:46. | :18:51.
feuds... Criticism is reserved for David Beckham who, Sir Alex says, | :18:52. | :18:54.
thought he was bigger than the club, and chose to be famous. He fell in | :18:55. | :19:03.
love with Victoria. That changed everything. Being a football man, I | :19:04. | :19:08.
had to think of my control of the club, where we were going with that. | :19:09. | :19:12.
And Roy Keane, too, whose hardest part of his body was, apparently, | :19:13. | :19:18.
his savage tongue. I am strong enough to deal with important issues | :19:19. | :19:22.
like that. He overstepped his mark. Absolutely. His biggest setback | :19:23. | :19:28.
Nothing compared to losing to City, he says. Sir Alex reiterates Wayne | :19:29. | :19:33.
Rooney wanted to leave in the summer and wasn't fit enough but generally | :19:34. | :19:36.
gives the England striker an easier ride. He wasn't playing well enough. | :19:37. | :19:46.
That was my judgement. Now we see him in the form he is in, do you | :19:47. | :19:53.
think I would drop him as he is playing now? No way. And that may be | :19:54. | :19:57.
one reason why the official line here at Old Trafford is that United | :19:58. | :20:01.
are relaxed about this book launch ` it was cleared by the club. But they | :20:02. | :20:04.
were concerned enough to move today's press conference with David | :20:05. | :20:07.
Moyes from the traditional 2pm start to 1:30pm, so journalists didn't | :20:08. | :20:10.
have the chance to question Sir Alex's successor about the book s | :20:11. | :20:18.
contents. Alex Ferguson can do as he wishes. He is it's own man. Everyone | :20:19. | :20:25.
wants to hear what he has to say. And while the likes of Beckham might | :20:26. | :20:29.
not have enjoyed what Sir Alex had to say, the more important question | :20:30. | :20:32.
is what effect will this book have on the players and manager still at | :20:33. | :20:34.
United? And Stuart joins us now. So will | :20:35. | :20:40.
this book destabilise United at all? Let us be frank. What he writes | :20:41. | :20:48.
still matters. There are questions from Australia and Israel in | :20:49. | :20:52.
today's press conference. The timing is not medically helpful for David | :20:53. | :20:54.
Moyes, just as Sir Alex was beginning to give a press conference | :20:55. | :21:00.
in London, David Moyes had just finished one in Old Trafford. Sir | :21:01. | :21:05.
Alex Ferguson has picked his targets carefully. He has restricted most of | :21:06. | :21:08.
his criticism to those who are retired or familiar enemies. He has | :21:09. | :21:18.
picked his targets carefully. We knew there had been rows between him | :21:19. | :21:21.
and David Beckham was now we're getting the real story. He is | :21:22. | :21:28.
choosing his targets carefully. Why is he doing that? He is conscious of | :21:29. | :21:38.
the history of Old Trafford and when an old manager left, it caused | :21:39. | :21:45.
instability. Now he is another legendary manager, writing a book | :21:46. | :21:48.
just five minutes after he left so that is less than ideal. That is why | :21:49. | :21:53.
he tried to give Wayne Rooney and David Moyes a farewell crack of the | :21:54. | :21:59.
whip. The manager has to have authority, that is what Sir Alex | :22:00. | :22:03.
repeats throughout this book. For all of his headlines, he has not | :22:04. | :22:08.
done anything to dent David Moyes' authority. Thank you very much. | :22:09. | :22:14.
Now, anyone visiting Stockport Market recently may well have | :22:15. | :22:16.
stumbled across some of Britain s best actors filming a new BBC drama. | :22:17. | :22:20.
It's one of many locations in North West being used in the programme | :22:21. | :22:24.
that is set in the aftermath of the IRA Manchester bombing in 1996. | :22:25. | :22:27.
Elaine Dunkley has been along for a look. | :22:28. | :22:37.
The stalls of Stockport Market, transformed into the set of a new | :22:38. | :22:41.
BBC drama. To come back to Stockport in the rain at have something filmed | :22:42. | :22:48.
here, that is quite a thing. This writer grew up in Stockport. His | :22:49. | :22:51.
latest drama, From Here To There, starts with the devastation caused | :22:52. | :22:59.
by an IRA bombing in Manchester in 1996. They recreated the street at | :23:00. | :23:07.
the back of Marks Spencer 's. It brought back the drama of the day. | :23:08. | :23:13.
It is a tribute to how far the city has come on since then. As a | :23:14. | :23:22.
dramatist, it is an iconic moment. From Here To There is at times a | :23:23. | :23:25.
nostalgic not to the 90s. From Euro 96 to politics and the millennium | :23:26. | :23:33.
hangover. For some cast members it feels like a homecoming. After the | :23:34. | :23:40.
success of other series, Philip Glenister is enjoying life back in | :23:41. | :23:46.
the north`west. Manchester has been an important city in my career. I | :23:47. | :23:53.
did Clocking Off almost 13 years ago. It does feel like my adopted | :23:54. | :24:02.
town. For the market traders, it was business as usual, albeit with some | :24:03. | :24:06.
unusual customers. They could not believe the prices! I have been here | :24:07. | :24:10.
for 45 years and nothing like this has ever happened to me, so I'm | :24:11. | :24:14.
quite excited. Especially the fact that they are using my stall. From | :24:15. | :24:19.
Here To There will be screened on BBC One next year. | :24:20. | :24:25.
I go shopping there! How come I didn't meet Philip Glenister. | :24:26. | :24:38.
Time for some good weather, hopefully! | :24:39. | :24:41.
You haven't been listening! hopefully! | :24:42. | :24:45.
You haven't Good evening. I would like to bring you plenty of sunshine | :24:46. | :24:52.
but we had a dreadfully wet start today. Looking at tomorrow, and | :24:53. | :24:57.
umbrella day yet again. Plenty of rain to come tomorrow and it is not | :24:58. | :25:00.
just the rate that will be an issue. The wind will be very strong as | :25:01. | :25:07.
well, maybe 40 mph winds. Having said that, we are also going to see | :25:08. | :25:10.
the temperatures drop a tad over the next couple of days. Today, we saw | :25:11. | :25:18.
nearly 18 Celsius was up for Wednesday and Thursday, the | :25:19. | :25:20.
temperatures will drop as you can see. 13 or 14 Celsius. On Friday, | :25:21. | :25:27.
the tempters go up a notch, six teen or 17 Celsius but there is plenty | :25:28. | :25:30.
more rain to come on Friday. For tonight, the showers are less | :25:31. | :25:35.
organised than this morning but there is still plenty of rain | :25:36. | :25:40.
through this evening and overnight. Over the Isle of Man, we could see | :25:41. | :25:44.
some very squall E showers as well. You can see as we headed towards | :25:45. | :25:47.
storm, the showers gang up into longer spells of rain. A very windy | :25:48. | :25:53.
nights to come. We can see coastal bales in one or two spots. I don't | :25:54. | :26:02.
think you will be bothered about double figured temperatures in that | :26:03. | :26:07.
frame. Reischauer will be a bit of a miserable start. A wet start | :26:08. | :26:15.
tomorrow, not of service `` rush hour will be a miserable start. We | :26:16. | :26:20.
change the wind direction tomorrow. A westerly wind blowing that rain | :26:21. | :26:25.
in. There are some lingering showers in the afternoon. They are fewer and | :26:26. | :26:30.
further between. It looks like we could see some sunshine in places | :26:31. | :26:35.
through the afternoon. At the wind picks up tomorrow afternoon. No | :26:36. | :26:39.
showers but turning windy despite the sunshine. We could see 13 or 14 | :26:40. | :26:46.
Celsius tomorrow. If you add in the wind chill, it is likely to feel | :26:47. | :26:52.
much cooler. For Friday, four Thursday, even. We could lose the | :26:53. | :26:55.
umbrellas on Thursday. Temperatures are not impressive but it should be | :26:56. | :27:00.
dry. Look at what is coming your way for Friday. Another band of very, | :27:01. | :27:05.
very heavy rain. That will stick with us through most of Friday. | :27:06. | :27:10.
Heading into Saturday, it is not quite as wet. Still some heavy | :27:11. | :27:14.
showers to come. The temperatures are fairly disappointing. 13 or 14 | :27:15. | :27:21.
Celsius. Hang on to your umbrellas. That is the problem. If you have | :27:22. | :27:26.
that mix of wind and rain, you will have to hold onto your umbrellas was | :27:27. | :27:30.
up would you spend your hard earned money on Alex Ferguson's new book or | :27:31. | :27:35.
some new shoes? That is not fair! Can I have both? | :27:36. | :27:39.
Goodbye. | :27:40. | :27:44. |
