Good evening. A Sussex University student did | :01:11. | :01:15.
lure a TV executive to his death in revenge for a sex attack, a jury | :01:15. | :01:19.
has decided. Gagandeep Singh died after being beaten unconscious at | :01:19. | :01:23.
Mundil Mahil's flat in Brighton. She has been convicted of GBH with | :01:23. | :01:28.
intent. The two men who beat him, Harvinder Shoker and Darren Peters, | :01:28. | :01:30.
have been found guilty of murder and manslaughter after they shut | :01:30. | :01:36.
him in the boot of a car and set it on fire. Our reporter Fiona Irving | :01:36. | :01:40.
is live at the Old Bailey. It has taken the jury two weeks to come to | :01:40. | :01:46.
a decision, what was the reaction to their verdicts? | :01:47. | :01:51.
There were very distressing scenes here in court today. Harvinda | :01:51. | :01:54.
Shoker's family members broke down and had to be carried out of court | :01:54. | :01:57.
when he was found guilty of murder. Mundill Mahill, the Brighton | :01:57. | :02:00.
student from Chatham, remained calm and composed. She had set the honey | :02:00. | :02:08.
trap which Gagandip Singh walked into. | :02:08. | :02:13.
Gagandeep Singh just hours before he was murdered. Seen here on his | :02:13. | :02:18.
way to Brighton, he stumped up by a teddy bear to give to medical | :02:18. | :02:23.
student Mundil Mahil he was luring him into an attack. Harvinder | :02:23. | :02:27.
Shoker and Kirat Raj Singh lay in wait at Mundil Mahil's house. They | :02:27. | :02:32.
beat him unconscious and bundled him into the boot of the car. | :02:32. | :02:36.
Harvinder Shoker poured petrol on him and set him alight. In a | :02:36. | :02:42.
statement, Gagandeep Singh's family paid tribute to him. On a day-to- | :02:42. | :02:46.
day basis there is a gap in our lives and a sense of loneliness. | :02:46. | :02:51.
Gagandeep Singh was always a happy person trying to make us laugh. He | :02:51. | :02:57.
was always positive and reassuring. The impact of the trial has been | :02:57. | :03:02.
harder this week as this weekend marks one year's anniversary of his | :03:02. | :03:07.
death. Mundil Mahil was a Brighton medical student. Cleared of his | :03:07. | :03:12.
murder today, she was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent. | :03:12. | :03:17.
She had made the phone call that had matured into his death. Have | :03:17. | :03:23.
you got anything to say? Have you got anything to say? Had it not | :03:23. | :03:28.
been for the actions of Mundil Mahil, Gagandeep Singh would not | :03:28. | :03:30.
have been murdered. He thought he was going down there to have a | :03:30. | :03:35.
social evening the third, when she knew that Harvinder Shoker and | :03:35. | :03:41.
Kirat Raj Singh were coming down to attack him. Darren Peters was found | :03:41. | :03:45.
killed to of manslaughter. He had helped Harvinder Shoker carry out | :03:45. | :03:49.
the attack. For the family of Gagandeep Singh, they said life has | :03:49. | :03:56.
ground to a halt and one never be the same again. | :03:56. | :04:00.
Mundil Mahil walked out of court today as she was granted bail. | :04:00. | :04:05.
Today the judge said that a long prison sentence for all three is | :04:05. | :04:09.
virtually inevitable. It was a plot hatched by some of | :04:09. | :04:12.
Gagandip Singh's closest friends that led to his brutal murder. | :04:12. | :04:22.

Katherine Downes on the crime that shocked a community. Gagandeep | :04:23. | :04:28.
Singh reporting from Pakistan on a television channel he had just | :04:28. | :04:38.
:04:38. | :04:38. | ||
launched at the age of 20. Friends say she was a rising star, brutally | :04:38. | :04:42.
killed in the prime of his life. was such an up and coming sort of | :04:42. | :04:48.
guy. He was wise way beyond his years. A real great leader in the | :04:48. | :04:56.
making. I could see him doing a lot of things. Sometimes it feels like | :04:56. | :05:03.
the whole thing is going to carry on, but the reality is she is no | :05:03. | :05:08.
more. Gagandeep Singh was caught in a trap set by two of his closest | :05:08. | :05:13.
friends, Mundil Mahil and Harvinder Shoker. Mundil Mahil tricked him | :05:13. | :05:17.
into a meeting at to a student accommodation in Brighton where she | :05:17. | :05:23.
knew he might be hurt, but once they're Harvinder Shoker and Darren | :05:23. | :05:27.
Peters took it further, beating him unconscious. Afterwards, Gagandeep | :05:27. | :05:32.
Singh was bundled into the boot of the car, wrapped in bed sheets. | :05:32. | :05:36.
Still alive at this point he was driven to Blackheath in south-east | :05:36. | :05:40.
London or petrol was poured on him and the car and then they were both | :05:40. | :05:46.
ignited. Gagandeep Singh died from breeding in perfumes. We sold the | :05:46. | :05:52.
car there. There was nothing left. The tree was on fire as well. Just | :05:52. | :05:59.
trying to even picture that would give anybody nightmares. The | :05:59. | :06:04.
pouring of petrol and putting him in the boot, nobody deserves to go | :06:04. | :06:08.
like that, it doesn't matter who you are. But how did trusted | :06:08. | :06:13.
friends become killers? With Harvinder Shoker, I was under the | :06:13. | :06:18.
impression he was a very good friend of Gagandeep Singh. He | :06:18. | :06:25.
seemed to look up to him. He helped him out on a few occasions. They | :06:25. | :06:29.
seem to know each other from childhood, were very close. But | :06:29. | :06:34.
Mundil Mahil had told Harvinder Shoker a painful secret, that | :06:34. | :06:41.
Gagandeep Singh had tried to rate her at the previous summer. | :06:41. | :06:47.
Gagandeep Singh suspected he was being set up. He centre text | :06:47. | :06:54.
message saying, OK, I have had enough, what do you playing at? | :06:54. | :07:00.
Later he asked, can we talk civil, or do you just want me dead? | :07:00. | :07:04.
Despite his unease, Gagandeep Singh walked into the trap and ultimately | :07:04. | :07:09.
to his death, leaving his friends and family bewildered hands | :07:09. | :07:13.
horrified at the thought of his suffering. It is hard to believe in | :07:13. | :07:19.
this day and age human beings can do such things. I don't like to | :07:19. | :07:25.
think about his final moments. Nobody deserves a death like that. | :07:25. | :07:28.
That was Gagandip Singh's friend Kirat Raj Singh ending our report | :07:28. | :07:32.
from Katherine Downes. In a moment: A family's campaign to | :07:32. | :07:34.
prevent more deaths on our roads after their daughter was killed | :07:34. | :07:44.
cycling in Sussex. It has emerged that a Sussex | :07:44. | :07:47.
employer is actively recruiting workers in Eastern Europe, despite | :07:47. | :07:49.
rising unemployment and record numbers of jobless young people in | :07:49. | :07:52.
the UK. Earlier this week, the Employment Secretary, Chris | :07:52. | :07:54.
Grayling, highlighted his concerns of non-British people being offered | :07:54. | :07:59.
work ahead of UK residents. But one Sussex taxi boss says East | :07:59. | :08:04.
Europeans are critical to his company's success. Our Business | :08:04. | :08:12.
Correspondent, Mark Norman, reports. This man makes another pick up in | :08:12. | :08:16.
Crawley. He is a qualified electrical engineer with the young | :08:16. | :08:21.
family back in Romania. He says he drives taxis here for a way to a | :08:21. | :08:25.
better life for his children. are a lot of jobs you if you want | :08:25. | :08:33.
to work. Cleaner, taxi driver. Something is better than nothing. | :08:33. | :08:37.
His bosses say the 15 Europeans they have employed along more than | :08:37. | :08:41.
30 English drivers have added to the company's professionalism. | :08:41. | :08:46.
seems to be that the Romanian drivers have been quite hard- | :08:46. | :08:50.
working and dedicated to what they do. They seem to spend a lot of | :08:50. | :08:55.
time revising the roads as part of their training from the agency, | :08:55. | :08:59.
that they learn a lot of stuff before they even get here. The | :08:59. | :09:03.
professionalism of the drivers as great. In the 12 months to June | :09:03. | :09:07.
last year there were almost 600,000 long-term immigrants to the UK. | :09:07. | :09:13.
Unemployment rose by 48,000 to reach a peak of 2.6 million, while | :09:13. | :09:20.
in Crawley, more than 2200 people are unemployed or claiming benefit. | :09:20. | :09:24.
Should you cage of the advertised abroad? This is the website of an | :09:24. | :09:29.
online recruitment agency in Romania that shoes within 2400 | :09:29. | :09:32.
driving jobs in England, but recruiting staff this way is not | :09:32. | :09:38.
for everyone. Unemployment is going up, so it is better to advertise | :09:38. | :09:43.
here first. The Eastern Europeans work really hard for less money, so | :09:43. | :09:47.
it is economics, isn't it? should be advertised here at the | :09:47. | :09:50.
same time so all the people can apply at the same time, but if they | :09:50. | :09:57.
are the best people for the job, that is fine. There are another -- | :09:57. | :10:01.
and number of other areas where taxi drivers can look. I don't | :10:01. | :10:05.
think it is right that they have to look to Romania. Professional, | :10:05. | :10:10.
reliable staff for what people look for, were ever there recruited or | :10:10. | :10:13.
where they're from. Mark Norman reporting, and he joins | :10:13. | :10:16.
us live from Crawley. Mark, it seems there's a divide between what | :10:16. | :10:19.
politicians say should be happening and what firms are actually doing | :10:19. | :10:23.
on the ground. That is right. The Employment Minister yesterday | :10:23. | :10:28.
saying that British companies should give preference to British | :10:28. | :10:32.
unemployed people. Time after time I come across companies that are | :10:32. | :10:35.
not actively recruiting foreign members of staff ahead of British | :10:35. | :10:39.
people, but they are creating an mixed so they get a very strong | :10:39. | :10:44.
work ethic. Maybe ministers are going to have to learn to deal with | :10:44. | :10:54.
:10:54. | :10:55. | ||
We want to know what you think. MPs say jobs that could be done by | :10:55. | :10:58.
local people are being taken by workers from overseas. Are they | :10:58. | :11:01.
right to be concerned? Send us an email or join the debate on our | :11:01. | :11:04.
Facebook site, and we'll hear some of your comments later in the | :11:04. | :11:14.

A man is in hospital with injuries after falling off a cliff path in | :11:16. | :11:26.
:11:26. | :11:26. | ||
Dover. Another walker also fell a shorter distance in the same area | :11:26. | :11:31.
today and was treated by paramedics. A care worker has appeared before | :11:31. | :11:33.
magistrates charged with two counts of assaulting vulnerable pensioners | :11:33. | :11:36.
at a residential home in East Sussex. Michael Deboick, from St | :11:36. | :11:39.
Leonards, is alleged to have injured two men aged 73 and 85 at | :11:39. | :11:42.
the Mount Denys Care Home in Hastings in May last year. One of | :11:42. | :11:47.
the men suffered a broken hip. There are calls for a Thanet | :11:47. | :11:50.
District Councillor to resign tonight after he posted internet | :11:50. | :11:52.
comments that opponents say are deeply offensive. In response to a | :11:52. | :11:55.
story that bus drivers had been told not to refer to female | :11:55. | :11:57.
passengers as "love", Labour councillor Mike Harrison used | :11:57. | :12:00.
offensive language to describe any woman who might complain and added | :12:00. | :12:03.
they were frustrated and should get a life. Opposition councillors say | :12:03. | :12:13.
:12:13. | :12:24. | ||
they will report his comments to the council's Standards Committee. | :12:24. | :12:26.
The retired Kent businessman Christopher Tappin has been | :12:26. | :12:28.
extradited to America to face charges of conspiring to export | :12:28. | :12:31.
batteries for use in Iranian missiles. Mr Tappin was arrested in | :12:31. | :12:34.
2010. He fought extradition through the courts, but last month his | :12:34. | :12:37.
final efforts failed. This morning US Marshals met him at Heathrow and | :12:37. | :12:40.
flew him to Texas to stand trial. If he is found guilty he could | :12:40. | :12:44.
spend up to 35 years in prison. He had this parting shot for the Prime | :12:44. | :12:49.
Minister. I looked to David Cameron and to look after my rights, and he | :12:49. | :12:55.
has failed to do so. I have no rights. Abu Qatada is walking the | :12:56. | :13:00.
streets of London today and we cannot extradite him. He has more | :13:01. | :13:05.
rights than I have. If I was a terrorist, I wouldn't be going to | :13:05. | :13:10.
America. I think it is a shame. It is a disgrace. | :13:10. | :13:12.
Well, joining me now live from Houston, Texas, is Douglas McNabb, | :13:12. | :13:18.
a federal criminal lawyer based there. Mr McNabb, what's waiting | :13:18. | :13:28.
for Christopher Tappin there? will be escorted off the plane, | :13:28. | :13:34.
handcuffed, chains around his waist and ankles. He will then be | :13:34. | :13:37.
transported to the Federal detention centre in downtown | :13:37. | :13:42.
Houston, about three blocks from where I am now. He will spend the | :13:42. | :13:47.
weekend in that detention centre. On Monday he will be taken before a | :13:47. | :13:52.
federal magistrate judge or a bond hearing. He will be able to call | :13:52. | :13:56.
witnesses and his support. The government will be able to call | :13:56. | :14:01.
witnesses and that their conclusion of that hearing the judge will make | :14:01. | :14:04.
a determination as to whether he is either a flight risk or a danger to | :14:04. | :14:08.
the community. If the court determines that he is either of | :14:08. | :14:13.
those, the court will deny bonds and he will be jailed pending trial. | :14:13. | :14:18.
On the other hand, if the court determines he is not those things, | :14:18. | :14:25.
he will be released and some sort of bond. We have heard that he | :14:25. | :14:28.
could face up to 35 years in prison, if found guilty, is that a | :14:28. | :14:38.
:14:38. | :14:42. | ||
realistic sentence? No, it is not. Count one carries five years, count | :14:42. | :14:47.
to 10 years, and in the Third Kind it is a maximum of 20 years. The | :14:47. | :14:51.
media has added the five, plus 10, plus 20 to come up with 35 years, | :14:51. | :14:57.
but that is not likely. We have guidelines on top of that that | :14:57. | :15:01.
would then make a determination as to what potential sentence he might | :15:01. | :15:07.
receive. For example, he has two co-defendants. One was sentenced to | :15:07. | :15:12.
24 months in prison. A second co- defendant was sentenced to 22 | :15:12. | :15:16.
months in prison. To be fair, Christopher Tappin is facing a | :15:16. | :15:21.
charge that the other two are not. He is facing money-laundering, | :15:21. | :15:31.
:15:31. | :15:38. | ||
which carries a potential penalty of up to 20 years. | :15:38. | :15:42.
A huge fire that destroyed a Kent DIY store is tonight being treated | :15:42. | :15:45.
as arson. Emergency crews worked through the night to put out the | :15:45. | :15:47.
flames in Gravesend. Neighbouring buildings were evacuated for four | :15:47. | :15:50.
hours and 60 people were led to safety. Bryony MacKenzie has the | :15:50. | :15:52.
details. Stocked with paint, gas canisters and all their equipment | :15:52. | :15:55.
needed to improve your home, the fire made light work of this DIY | :15:55. | :16:01.
store. Holmes had to be evacuated leaving residents outside only able | :16:01. | :16:10.
to watch on. It was really scary. It was just across the road from us | :16:10. | :16:14.
and it was all flying over the road. We could not open the door because | :16:14. | :16:17.
of the heat, so we looked out of the front window and there were | :16:17. | :16:22.
flames everywhere. The shop was completely on fire. The whole front | :16:22. | :16:27.
of the shop had fallen on to a car. We did not know what was going to | :16:27. | :16:32.
happen. We were concerned because of the style of the shop, a paint | :16:32. | :16:36.
shop, and they sell gas there. We were concerned it was going to | :16:36. | :16:41.
explode. In the light of day this morning, investigators are working | :16:41. | :16:45.
to assess what the possible cause could be. It was distinguished at | :16:45. | :16:48.
approximately 4 o'clock this morning and we are now back | :16:48. | :16:53.
carrying out a joint investigation with the police. In close proximity | :16:53. | :16:58.
to residential homes, 60 people had to be evacuated over concerns about | :16:58. | :17:04.
toxic fumes. We were evacuated for three or four hours. We live | :17:04. | :17:09.
opposite. Investigations are under way and that the clean-up process | :17:09. | :17:13.
starts this afternoon and into this evening. It is not yet clear is how | :17:13. | :17:20.
this fire started. Our top story tonight: A Sussex | :17:21. | :17:23.
University student did lure a TV executive to his death in revenge | :17:24. | :17:27.
for a sex attack, a jury has decided. Gagandeep Singh was beaten | :17:27. | :17:32.
unconscious at Mundil Mahil's flat in Brighton. She has been convicted | :17:32. | :17:35.
of GBH with intent. The two men who beat him, Harvinder Shoker and | :17:35. | :17:38.
Darren Peters, have been found guilty of murder and manslaughter | :17:38. | :17:46.
after they shut him in the boot of a car and set it on fire. | :17:46. | :17:49.
Also in tonight's programme: Why crocodiles, snakes and giant | :17:49. | :17:51.
lizards are turning up in increasing numbers at an RSPCA | :17:51. | :17:58.
rescue centre in Sussex. We almost broke records for the | :17:58. | :18:03.
warmest February day, but not quite. Is this exceptionally mild weather | :18:03. | :18:11.
going to last? Join me later for The family of a newly qualified | :18:11. | :18:14.
teacher who was killed while cycling in Brighton say they want | :18:14. | :18:17.
to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again. Jo Walter died in | :18:17. | :18:21.
2010 on the A270 Lewes Road. Now a trust set up in her name has | :18:21. | :18:23.
produced a master-plan for safer cycling routes in the city. Alex | :18:23. | :18:33.
:18:33. | :18:35. | ||
Beard reports. The family of Jo Walter wants to | :18:35. | :18:40.
make Brighton Sacra for cyclists so we know -- so no one else have to | :18:40. | :18:45.
suffer a similar loss. She was only 28. It was the last thing we | :18:45. | :18:49.
expected to happen. The charity has helped us feel that we're doing | :18:49. | :18:56.
something positive out of this. We would be delighted if we could feel | :18:57. | :19:00.
that the people cycling to and from university were safe and this could | :19:00. | :19:08.
not happen again. Jo Walter was driving on this -- was cycling on | :19:08. | :19:12.
this path when she had to swerve to avoid another cyclist and she was | :19:12. | :19:17.
hit by an ban. This is all part of a master plan to create safer ways | :19:17. | :19:23.
for cyclists to get around the city. We have been heartened by the | :19:23. | :19:27.
response from the City Council who had taken this as a constructive | :19:27. | :19:31.
input. We are very much working with them. It is very probable that | :19:31. | :19:36.
what we are suggesting will happen. Cycle safety is not just a local | :19:36. | :19:41.
issue and yesterday it was debated in Parliament. It is good for their | :19:41. | :19:46.
economy and the environment. We have a responsibility to make it as | :19:46. | :19:51.
safe as possible and encourage it. Two local cyclists feel safe? | :19:51. | :20:01.
:20:01. | :20:02. | ||
Drivers are not that considerate towards cyclists. When you go on a | :20:02. | :20:09.
bike you take your chances. We are not quite Amsterdam yet, are we? | :20:09. | :20:13.
But at Neverland style cycle network is exactly what the family | :20:13. | :20:17.
of Jo Walter want to see in Brighton. | :20:17. | :20:20.
Alex Beard reporting and she joins us from Hove. The city council is | :20:20. | :20:23.
already working to improve safety for cyclists there, isn't it? | :20:23. | :20:28.
this road they have actually close to what they put in this dedicated | :20:28. | :20:33.
cycle path. It is wide and higher than the road, but also totally | :20:33. | :20:39.
separate to the footpath. This is not just a local issue as there has | :20:39. | :20:44.
been of high profile campaign to improved cycle safety. For the | :20:44. | :20:48.
family of Jo Walter, what they want to see his improvements like this | :20:48. | :20:53.
put on the road where she died. Experts at the RSPCA say there has | :20:53. | :20:56.
been a big increase in the number of exotic pets they are caring for | :20:56. | :20:59.
at their specialist centre in Patcham, in East Sussex. They | :20:59. | :21:01.
include poisonous snakes, giant lizards, and two crocodiles | :21:01. | :21:04.
discovered by police in a bedroom. Nationally, it is estimated that | :21:04. | :21:09.
900,000 reptiles were kept as pets last year. There were over 8,500 | :21:09. | :21:13.
calls about exotic pets to the charity's emergency cruelty line. | :21:13. | :21:15.
There were 427 incidents involving bearded dragons, a 1,700% increase | :21:15. | :21:25.
:21:25. | :21:30. | ||
compared to 2001. Ian Palmer reports. Meet the Caiman crocodile. | :21:30. | :21:37.
The owner had a affection for it until RSPCA officers found he did | :21:37. | :21:41.
not have a licence. You have to spend thousands and thousands of | :21:41. | :21:45.
Pounds on a correct set-up. If someone does that to the licensing, | :21:45. | :21:54.
you need almost as soon exhibit. This RSPCA centre it is the only | :21:54. | :22:01.
reptile rescue centre in the country. So, what are these exotic | :22:01. | :22:07.
pets like to keep? This fibre has the potential to kill so needs | :22:07. | :22:11.
expert care. The Caiman crocodile quality of feet in length. If | :22:11. | :22:16.
disturbed it will give you a nasty bite. The bearded dragon will only | :22:16. | :22:19.
attack that it is hungry. It is particularly aggressive during the | :22:19. | :22:24.
mating season. What do I need to know before buying an exotic pet? | :22:24. | :22:31.
Don't buy it on a whim. Go away and do your research. Many of these | :22:31. | :22:36.
animals had been imported where there are no war fewer restrictions. | :22:36. | :22:43.
This man is a debt research and he has 40 animals at home. He says | :22:43. | :22:48.
people just don't understand what they are taking on. We are keeping | :22:48. | :22:53.
them completely out of there, Britain and owners have to play God | :22:53. | :22:56.
and that they have to provide the right temperature, the sunshine. | :22:57. | :23:02.
Britain has nothing that they know. The temptation to adopt unusual | :23:02. | :23:07.
animals seems to be increasing. No- one knows why more relationships | :23:07. | :23:11.
between man and beast are breaking down. The colt the wild is too | :23:11. | :23:16.
strong for some people and it is the RSPCA that is forced to pick up | :23:16. | :23:23.
the pieces. Brighton and Hove Albion hope to | :23:23. | :23:25.
extend their unbeaten run in the Championship when they entertain | :23:25. | :23:28.
Ipswich at the Amex stadium tomorrow. Manager Gus Poyet is | :23:28. | :23:31.
expected to tinker with his line-up following a goalless draw at Hull | :23:31. | :23:34.
on Wednesday night. Will Buckley could return to the starting 11 | :23:34. | :23:38.
after coming off the bench at the KC Stadium. | :23:38. | :23:41.
In League One, Chris Solly should return to the Charlton starting | :23:41. | :23:45.
line-up for the visit of Stevenage. An illness caused his late | :23:45. | :23:50.
withdrawal from the side that drew 1-1 with Rochdale on Tuesday night. | :23:50. | :23:53.
In League Two, Andy Hessenthaler may name an unchanged Gillingham | :23:53. | :23:58.
line-up as they host promotion- chasing Torquay. The Gills boss was | :23:58. | :24:00.
encouraged by his side's display in Tuesday's goalless draw against | :24:00. | :24:10.
:24:10. | :24:12. | ||
It has been another lovely day to day, but unlikely to last into the | :24:12. | :24:18.
weekend? Yes and No. It will be a nice weekend, but it will not be as | :24:18. | :24:25.
warm. There will be a little bit of rain first thing tomorrow I'll but | :24:25. | :24:30.
otherwise sunshine. This call from disease and southwards. It is a | :24:30. | :24:35.
weak front, but it has enough power in it to introduce some colder air. | :24:35. | :24:42.
There could even be a touch of frost on Sunday night. Yesterday we | :24:42. | :24:49.
brogues and temperature records. It has been a very different day to | :24:49. | :24:59.
:24:59. | :25:00. | ||
day in some places. The wind switched round and came off the | :25:00. | :25:05.
North Sea and Broxham -- and brought some fog and low cloud. We | :25:05. | :25:09.
started off with broken cloud across Kent and East Sussex, but | :25:09. | :25:13.
the cloud is filled in throughout the day. The eastern part of Kent | :25:13. | :25:21.
held on to it for the longest. With thick cloud, it will be quite a | :25:21. | :25:27.
mild nights with those temperatures around about seven degrees. | :25:27. | :25:32.
Tomorrow, we start off cloudy and damp with a bit of light rain, but | :25:32. | :25:36.
that will move away and gradually from the north it will brighten up. | :25:36. | :25:41.
By the afternoon nearly all of us will be having some sunshine. Still | :25:41. | :25:46.
mild for the time of year, but not as mild were warm as it has been. | :25:46. | :25:51.
It will still be a couple of degrees above average. Tomorrow | :25:51. | :25:57.
evening the skies will become clear so there is the chance of a touch | :25:57. | :26:01.
of frost. Other than that, it looks for the next few days it will not | :26:01. | :26:06.
be too bad. On Sunday itself will be dry with the reasonable amount | :26:06. | :26:10.
of sunshine. There is a chance of some rain for the start of the next | :26:10. | :26:15.
working week. Now back to one of our top stories | :26:15. | :26:18.
tonight: Bosses at a Crawley taxi firm say Romanian drivers are | :26:18. | :26:21.
playing a critical part in the company's success. But MPs in Kent | :26:21. | :26:23.
and Sussex have raised concerns that companies are recruiting | :26:23. | :26:26.
overseas workers to fill posts that could go to local people when UK | :26:26. | :26:29.
unemployment is rising. Earlier in the programme we asked what you | :26:29. | :26:38.
think and thanks for all your comments. Sarah says I think it is | :26:38. | :26:42.
that when there are so many people over here out of work and more are | :26:42. | :26:47.
being made redundant every day. Another person said that a lot of | :26:47. | :26:57.
:26:57. | :26:58. | ||
local people will not do the jobs anyway. Another person said that if | :26:58. | :27:03.
the English people want the jobs, then apply for them! Eastern | :27:03. | :27:09.
Europeans only take the jobs that other people do not want. At the | :27:09. | :27:19.
:27:19. | :27:20. | ||
viewer from Margate said that why is it that it local workforce does | :27:20. | :27:23.
not have the professionalism that the owner of the taxi company | :27:23. | :27:28.
claimed was the reason why he was hiring people from Romania. That is | :27:28. | :27:32. |
