Good evening. Police have made a second arrest following the murder

of a 17-year-old boy in Hastings. A 31-year-old man is also being held

in custody in relation to the incident, which happened yesterday

afternoon. Friends have described the boy who died as "sporty,

football-loving and someone who gave 100% to everything he did".

Nicola Haseler reports. His friends say he had so much to

live for. He was a well nice lad, everybody

knew him and had nothing bad to say about him. I just wish he was here

now. The 6th form student named -- was

stabbed outside his pub yesterday afternoon. Police are yet to

confirm his name. He was a lovely boy, an active

sportsman and he wanted to get on with his life and enjoy it. He

loved his family and his family loved him. It is a massive waste of

life and potential. He had so much to live for. It is a shock. He will

be missed dearly. The family are devastated and there is some

concern in the community. I want to reassure the community that we

don't believe this to be a random attack and I am very grateful for

the support given while the road was closed and the disruption that

that caused and the people who have come forward to help the

investigation. Throughout the day, while people

who knew Jacob laid flowers, police have pieced together what happened.

They have arrested a man from Bexhill on suspicion of murder. A

31-year-old man is also in custody. Friends here say they are coming to

terms with the fact that there is no more Jacob. It

a 72-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells has died in a road collision

in Dorset. Police say his car collided with a 26-tonne refuse

truck while trying to do a U-turn. It happened on the A35 between

Bridport and Dorchester just after 1 o'clock this afternoon.

Eurotunnel services travelling to France were delayed for up to three

hours today. Part of the M20 was temporarily closed to ease the

backlog of traffic. Services were suspended when an alarm sounded on

a freight shuttle travelling from Calais to Folkestone. Eurotunnel

say safety checks have now been carried out and services in both

directions are getting back to normal.

Tourism chiefs in Hastings say they are furious that Network Rail have

decided to close all three routes into the town over the Bank Holiday

weekend. The rail company says essential work must be carried out

and that an Easter closure is preferable to a summer one. The

council says this weekend marks the start of the visitor season and

couldn't come at a worse time. People throughout Kent and Sussex

have been marking this Good Friday bank holiday with a series of

special events. As well as Easter egg hunts and lambing activities in

Kent, crowds turned out in Hastings for a re-enactment of the Passion

of Christ, as Charlie Rose reports. It is a Good Friday service with a

twist. Oh re-enactment through Hastings' old town of all well-

known biblical story. It is a reminder to everybody that Jesus

was taken and tried by both the Jewish authorities and ultimately

the Roman government, Pontius Pilate, condemned to death, made to

carry the instrument of his own execution and crucified with two

others. It is scary for the little ones, seeing blood all over. He

fell down the steps and they didn't care at all. I'm not a practising

religious person but I find it very moving to see the story enacted.

The procession is now making its way through the old town towards

All Saints Church, where there will be a re-enactment of the

Crucifixion in about half an hour's time.

It was not the only event of its kind taking place in the South East

today. There also East a recurrence and other activities including an

Easter Rick -- a lambing event. Back in Hastings, the ultimate

symbol of what Easter is all about. I have been involved with it for

the last 10 or so years and it was good to take on the main role and I

hope it got across the message that we are trying to get across to

people. That message - the Easter story

brought to life for the people of All Saints Parish.

On to football now, and in the Championship Brighton could be

pushed out of the play-off places by tomorrow's results, after losing

1-0 away to Burnley. Meanwhile, in League Two, Gillingham salvaged a

point against Bristol Rovers. The Gills took the lead early in the

second half but Rovers hit back immediately and then went ahead in

the 80th minute. However, substitute Dennis Oli headed in a

late equaliser to keep the Gills in touching distance of the play-offs.

Crawley may also be out of the automatic promotion slots after

only managing a draw at home to Crewe. Crewe took the lead midway

through the first half through an 18 yard strike from Byron Moore,

but right at the death Lee Bell handled in the box and Gary

Alexander kept his cool to fire home a penalty and deny the
