Good afternoon. As several flood warnings remains in place across the

South East, and with more stormy weather on the way, farmers on the

Romney Marsh are complaining that not enough has been done to maintain

the area properly. Some farls in the area have suffered ruined crops

waterlogged fields and clogged waterways. The Environment @gency

says it's putting in extra pumps but severe weather and high watdr levels

have prevented it from carrxing out planned desilting work.

I think there could be a case for using the money a bit better than

they do. If they get togethdr with the local farmers' unions and the

drainage boards and get up ` list of priorities for the work that is

considered priority work and get on with that for a start. Maintenance

has got to be high priority. We ve got a good system here in place it

just needs looking after and maintaining.

The Southeastern train servhce between Battle and Robertsbridge is

not expected to resume until the last week of February. The line was

closed following two landslhps due to the recent bad weather.

Replacement bus services ard currently running to replacd trains

between the two stations. Ndtwork Rail say they are bringing hn 1 ,000

tonnes of stone to rebuild the embankment at Whatlington Vhaduct,

one of the landslip sites. Three of the South East's ldague

clubs will be in action this afternoon and hoping for victory

after some recent disappointing results, while Crawley's gale

against Brentford has been called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Neil Bell reports. In the Championship, just one win in

their last five games has ptt a dent in Brighton's promotion hopds. They

go into today's game in ninth place, seven points off the play`off

places. Hopefully a return to home turf and victory over Doncaster

Rovers will provide the victory they need. Charlton's form is evdn more

disappointing with just one win in the last 11 league games. They take

on Birmingham at the Valley with the worst goal`scoring record in the

division and must hope the likes of Johnnie Jackson can recover their

goal`scoring touch. Gillingham's away form has been disappointing and

they will be looked for an improvement at Carlisle with much

depending on inform striker Cody McDonald.

That is an area that we are really concentrating on because as much as

we've got important home matches against teams down there with us,

we've got to help ourselves get a bit of space by getting somd away

wins. So that is in our thotghts, without a doubt.

more restless weather to cole in the days ahead and The Met Office have

got a yellow warning in place for both rain and wind for Kent and

Sussex until six o'clock tolorrow morning. This afternoon, less in the

way of sunshine and more in the way of these showers and it will be

getting heavier perhaps with some hail and thunder in there. Those

strong south`westerly winds really kicking on later on in the day with

gusts of 60, maybe up to 70 miles per hour on the exposed are` of the

coastline. The showers getthng heavier through the night as well.

Tomorrow, we have another whndy day ahead of us with more of those heavy

showers once more. Tonight we're looking at 10`15 millimetres of rain

and, obviously, any rain isn't welcome at the moment. Mond`y, the

winds die down a little but, Tuesday, The Met Office havd another

Good afternoon. It is yet another stormy day to day with heavy rain

around and very strong winds. The Met office has issued an amber

warning for the strong winds. They could be disruptive and damaging.

This is the latest in a string of storms that we have seen this

winter. For southern England, this looks like one of the wettest
