. Hello. Welcome to south today. In tonight's | :00:06. | :00:13.
programme: Not growing up. Why council fees of thousands of pounds | :00:13. | :00:17.
have stopped this father's plan to convert his house for his children. | :00:17. | :00:24.
We are just astounded at the cost of the fees towards the contribution of | :00:24. | :00:28.
social housing. Claims that errors were made in | :00:28. | :00:32.
giving elderly residents medication at a care home where there were 19 | :00:33. | :00:37.
unexplained deaths. The computer conon the other side of | :00:37. | :00:41.
the world which targeted this Hampshire woman. | :00:41. | :00:44.
And, plans are unveiled to honour a war hero awarded the Victoria Cross. | :00:45. | :00:51.
It would be exactly 100 years since Trouper Fred did this extraordinary | :00:51. | :00:54.
brave thing of getting this guy home. I mean, 48—hours under fire | :00:54. | :00:56.
all the Good evening. | :00:56. | :01:11.
A family from Hampshire who want to convert their bungalow into two | :01:11. | :01:15.
homes have told at their shock at finding they'd have to pay well over | :01:15. | :01:19.
£100,000 in planning contributions. It comes days after we revealed that | :01:19. | :01:24.
local authorities across the south accumulated around £400 million in | :01:24. | :01:29.
money from developers to finance new affordable homes, roads and other | :01:29. | :01:32.
community improvement projects. In this case, Winchester City Council's | :01:32. | :01:36.
told the Bullpet family they'll have to pay a contribution of up to | :01:36. | :01:41.
£110,000 towards these costs, although, as Nicki Mitchell reports, | :01:41. | :01:45.
the Government says the charges are inappropriate and unreasonable. | :01:45. | :01:54.
How are you going to divide this in two? Lift the roof so we have | :01:54. | :02:04.
bedrooms and divide the property the other side. Mike's sons family are | :02:04. | :02:08.
struggling to get on the housing ladder, so splitting this home in | :02:08. | :02:12.
two seemed like the ideal solution but at the eplanning stage it is not | :02:13. | :02:20.
going to be cheap. The council wants lots of money on top of the building | :02:20. | :02:29.
costs which are £64,000. The majority of the value is for social | :02:29. | :02:32.
housing contribution. We can't afford the money. In a statement, | :02:32. | :02:36.
the Housing Minister, Mark frisk, told us such stealth taxes on small | :02:36. | :02:43.
projects are inappropriate and unreasonable and should not make a | :02:43. | :02:46.
project unviable. He said the Government has already made changes | :02:46. | :02:50.
so that developers can ask councils to reconsider and it's reviewing | :02:50. | :02:54.
what further steps can be taken to rein the charges in. | :02:54. | :02:58.
No—one from Winchester City Council was available for interview, but the | :02:58. | :03:00.
council told us: The organisation which represents | :03:00. | :03:24.
developers raised another question today. Should new housing | :03:24. | :03:28.
development be making such a massive contribution towards what are | :03:28. | :03:31.
effectively Public Services for which local authorities get paid out | :03:31. | :03:36.
of central Government taxes? New development pays council tax to the | :03:36. | :03:39.
local authority and some of that is what should be paying for local | :03:39. | :03:43.
services, rather than it being subsidised by the people who buy the | :03:43. | :03:47.
new houses which is ultimately what it comes down to. | :03:47. | :03:51.
The Bullpet's best option now is to wait for a promised change to the | :03:51. | :03:56.
planning laws. Just last week, the Government indicated self—build and | :03:56. | :04:01.
custom build projects like this one would be exempt from this type of | :04:01. | :04:06.
charge in the future. Missing Surrey teenager Esme Smith | :04:06. | :04:10.
has been found safe and well. The 14—year—old from Farnham in Surrey | :04:10. | :04:13.
had been missing over a week and was last seen on CCTV at a London | :04:13. | :04:19.
railway station on September 12th. A call from the Met Police earlier | :04:19. | :04:21.
this morning revealed she'd gone to a North London police station. | :04:21. | :04:27.
Sussex Police has revealed the cost of protecting politicians at this | :04:27. | :04:31.
year's Labour Party Conference has been cut to a fraction of previous | :04:31. | :04:34.
years. The bill will be no more than half a million pounds compared to £2 | :04:34. | :04:40.
or £3 million in the past. It may be low—key security, but the delegates | :04:41. | :04:45.
from the south feel there is a great deal at stake. A rather cliquey | :04:45. | :04:51.
electronic bill board greeted Labour delegates arriving in Brighton. A | :04:51. | :04:54.
list of left—wing priorities which turn out to be the ones Caroline | :04:55. | :05:03.
Lucas has been fighting for. In that will, there are signs of doubt. | :05:03. | :05:07.
Union leaders call on Miliband not to betray the Labour movement. Is he | :05:07. | :05:12.
the leader they need? If you can win the confidence of the British | :05:12. | :05:15.
people, the MPs who're here, the Shadow ministers are here, in 18 | :05:15. | :05:19.
months, we'll be exercising real power. I think that changes the | :05:19. | :05:23.
tone. This is not an opposition rally. Security's been dramatically | :05:23. | :05:26.
reduced this year. Memories of the IRA bombing at the grand have faded, | :05:26. | :05:33.
now there's just a G4S guard. It's cut the workload for the police and | :05:33. | :05:35.
the atmosphere is more They have new policies and the sun | :05:35. | :05:44.
is shining here. Delegates can afford to take an hour out and | :05:44. | :05:47.
listen to the singing. Tomorrow, Ed Miliband has to prove he's got The X | :05:47. | :05:51.
Factor. For 17—year—old Joe Barker and Sofia | :05:51. | :05:56.
James from Reading, it's the first experience of a party political | :05:56. | :06:00.
conference. The cost—of—living is a crucial policy at the moment. There | :06:00. | :06:03.
is some good stuff coming out of that. I've been impressed with | :06:03. | :06:08.
health, childcare policy. A lot to look forward to. So long we have | :06:08. | :06:14.
been saying there are no Labour policies. And they bring them out | :06:14. | :06:18.
guns, it's brilliant. Or will the opponents turn this against you? No, | :06:18. | :06:23.
the policies are going to be popular with most voters. | :06:23. | :06:26.
You are doomed if you are pro—fracking. Plenty to argument | :06:26. | :06:29.
about from fracking to finance, all political life is here. An inquest | :06:29. | :06:39.
into 19 unexplained deaths alet a Sussex care home's heard claims | :06:39. | :06:46.
errors were made in administering residents' medication. An ex—worker | :06:46. | :06:55.
spotted 28 errors on patient medical charts. | :06:55. | :06:58.
Gene suffered a fatal blood clot to the brain. It was one of 19 | :06:58. | :07:05.
unexplained deaths at the Orchid View care home. A senior member of | :07:05. | :07:09.
staff has said on several occasions residents' medication wasn't given | :07:09. | :07:14.
correctly. These patients need their medication, often they are reliant | :07:14. | :07:18.
upon medication, so for her to have picked upon 28 medication errors is | :07:18. | :07:27.
unacceptable and that's not what the family expected. Orchid home run by | :07:28. | :07:33.
Southern Cross closed down in 2011, following an investigation by the | :07:33. | :07:36.
Care Quality Commission. Today, former senior staff nurse Sharon | :07:36. | :07:40.
Gilmore criticised the home. She said there were not enough staff and | :07:40. | :07:44.
it was awful and everyone was stressed. She said residents were | :07:44. | :07:47.
cross because they weren't getting what they wanted when they | :07:47. | :07:50.
neededivity. Also giving evidence today was a | :07:50. | :07:53.
Southern Cross manager who was sent in to review Orchid View in 2011. | :07:54. | :07:59.
She said patients were put at risk due to the way the home was managed. | :07:59. | :08:03.
She said on one visit she expressed particular concern about a resident | :08:03. | :08:07.
who had a large bruise on her chest. She said she'd been barely | :08:07. | :08:12.
recognisable because she'd lost so much weight in a matter of days. | :08:12. | :08:16.
The manager went on to say that Southern Cross's main focus was to | :08:16. | :08:23.
fill beds and sell, sell, sell. The inquest continues. | :08:23. | :08:27.
The International Maritime Organisation could ban the disposal | :08:27. | :08:31.
of a chemical which killed thousands of birds on the Dorset coast. Many | :08:31. | :08:35.
were found at Chesil Beach near Weymouth, they were covered in a | :08:35. | :08:41.
blue—like substance. It has a polyisobutene chemical which is | :08:41. | :08:45.
responsible. Experts say if it proves to be an unusual type of | :08:45. | :08:51.
chemical, a change in the law may be required. | :08:51. | :08:54.
If there is a flaw in the law which has enabled a product like this to | :08:54. | :09:00.
be legally discharged, but still can do significant harm to the | :09:00. | :09:03.
environment and wildlife, then yes, of course the law needs to be | :09:03. | :09:06.
changed. Coast cards are continuing the | :09:06. | :09:09.
search for a missing Weymouth sail over who set off on his yacht from | :09:09. | :09:13.
Weymouth on Saturday. He was headed for Swanage but never arrived. His | :09:13. | :09:17.
yacht was located off the coast of France at 7. 30 am not far from | :09:18. | :09:22.
Diep. No—one was on board. His disappearance was only reported to | :09:22. | :09:26.
Portland coastguards at 8 am. The missing man hasn't been named yet. | :09:26. | :09:32.
A ring that once belonged to Jane Austen has been bought by a | :09:32. | :09:35.
Hampshire museum saving it for the nation. | :09:35. | :09:37.
The American singer Kelly Clarkson has bought the ring. She was banned | :09:37. | :09:42.
from exporting it as it was deemed a national treasure. The Jane Austen | :09:42. | :09:46.
house museum in Alton launched a fund—raising drive. It's paid | :09:46. | :09:52.
£157,000 to the singer. The ring will go on display next year. | :09:52. | :09:57.
Still to come in the programme: We'll hear all about the | :09:57. | :10:00.
extraordinary island swim by Anna Wardley and how rice pudding was on | :10:00. | :10:06.
her A scam which originated in India has | :10:06. | :10:13.
cost one Hampshire woman hundreds of pounds. In a report which can be | :10:13. | :10:17.
seen tonight on BBC's Inside Out programme, Judy Brookes reveals how | :10:17. | :10:21.
she was tricked into paying for work on her computer she didn't need | :10:21. | :10:26.
which left her vulnerable to scammers.scammers. | :10:26. | :10:29.
??LINEBREA Judy Brookes' problem started with a phone call from a man | :10:29. | :10:33.
falsely claiming to be from Microsoft telling her she hadn't | :10:33. | :10:38.
registered. I felt guilty because no, I hadn't registered. I was taken | :10:38. | :10:43.
in and said, all right, I'll get register and he said, we'll give you | :10:43. | :10:48.
backup and you will never hear from us again, that's it, finished, | :10:48. | :10:53.
that's all you will have to pay, no more. The calls kept coming with a | :10:53. | :10:56.
final ultimatum. He was convincing and plausible that if you continue | :10:56. | :11:01.
comply, we have power to switch you off completely. Inside Out tracked | :11:01. | :11:05.
down the scammers to Connecticut in India. By the time we got there, | :11:05. | :11:09.
they'd moved on with Judy's money. We found this man who took part in a | :11:09. | :11:16.
similar scam. I guess I used to make £200 a day. My job was to tell them | :11:16. | :11:26.
to open up the computers and show them the virus which they had. I | :11:26. | :11:31.
realise that is a scam and this is not really done, you know, | :11:32. | :11:35.
particularly from my part. I was feeling wrong when I did that. In | :11:35. | :11:37.
Romsey with professional help, Judy's PC is now running securely | :11:38. | :11:39.
again. Very bad experience. What I'm really | :11:39. | :11:40.
concerned about is that other people, vulnerable like me, living | :11:40. | :11:44.
on their own, my age group, are going to be similarly sweet—talked | :11:44. | :11:52.
or mesmerized or hypnotized by this firm. | :11:52. | :12:02.
A 21—year—old man from Hampshire paralysed in a road accident has | :12:02. | :12:08.
quite literally taken his first steps to recovery during a fun run | :12:08. | :12:11.
to raise money for the Air Ambulance which saved his life. Be—of Andrew | :12:11. | :12:15.
Read from Waterlooville has been in a wheelchair since a road accident | :12:15. | :12:22.
in February last year. He's been having intensive physiotherapy and | :12:22. | :12:25.
was determined to take a few steps across the finishing line in | :12:25. | :12:28.
Thruxton, held in aid of the Hampshire and Isle ofWight | :12:28. | :12:31.
ambulance. For Andy Read, this moment was like | :12:31. | :12:36.
finishing a marathon. After an hour of manoeuvering his new wheelchair | :12:36. | :12:42.
two—and—a—half miles for one lap around the circuit at Thruxton, he | :12:42. | :12:45.
stood up and walked the last few feet to the delight of his father, | :12:45. | :12:50.
Kevin. Absolutely fantastic. We never thought we'd see this. | :12:50. | :12:54.
Andy was a very active, sporty teenager, until a car in which he | :12:54. | :12:58.
was a passenger crashed causing him brain damage. | :12:58. | :13:01.
Andy has been slowly recovering toer the past 18 months alet the | :13:01. | :13:05.
neurological unit in Southampton, the Queen Alexander Hospital in cosh | :13:05. | :13:10.
ham and now the QEF Newry rehabilitation centre in Surrey. One | :13:10. | :13:14.
goal and incentive was to take part in the fun run at Thruxton. | :13:14. | :13:18.
The event raised money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air | :13:18. | :13:21.
Ambulance which is funded through donations. Kevin says without their | :13:21. | :13:25.
speedy work, his son would not be alive today and Andy was determined | :13:25. | :13:30.
to give something back to them. For Andy, it was a huge challenge. It | :13:30. | :13:37.
was great to see him. If you go back to somebody who was basically dead | :13:37. | :13:43.
18p months ago, to somebody who can now drive himself around a circuit | :13:43. | :13:48.
controlling a powered wheelchair and then to be able to walk across, for | :13:48. | :13:53.
him it was a tremendous thing. A bit like climbing Everest for him. It | :13:53. | :13:57.
was quite extraordinary for a young man like him who's had a | :13:57. | :14:01.
life—changing injury to actually show the determination and | :14:01. | :14:06.
participate in an event and then actually be quite determined that he | :14:07. | :14:10.
has been all along to walk across the finishing line. Just | :14:10. | :14:13.
extraordinary and we are very proud of him and he should be very proud | :14:13. | :14:17.
of his achievement. Andy's part in the run raises thousands and he | :14:17. | :14:22.
wanted to pass on a special message to the Air Ambulance. Thank you for | :14:22. | :14:25.
saving my It's a piece of the south's proud | :14:25. | :14:33.
history that's almost been forgotten. Now, Reading's hero with | :14:33. | :14:37.
a shovel is about to get a permanent memorial to his heroism. In | :14:37. | :14:44.
Gallipoli in 1915, Fred Potts saved the life of a fellow soldier to | :14:44. | :14:48.
become the only man from the town to receive the Victoria Cross. Now, a | :14:48. | :14:52.
campaign to raise money for a huge statue has been started with | :14:52. | :14:58.
celebrity backing. An act of astonishing bravery that | :14:58. | :15:04.
will now be permanently cast in Reading's history. I think it's | :15:04. | :15:07.
absurd that the only soldier from Reading who won the Victoria Cross | :15:07. | :15:11.
hasn't got some sort of commemoration in Reading so yes, we | :15:11. | :15:15.
are going to work for that. It's a lot of money we want to raise but we | :15:15. | :15:19.
are going to have it up and dominating somewhere in the centre | :15:19. | :15:22.
of Reading. In Gallipoli in 1915, 22—year—old | :15:22. | :15:27.
freed Potts had been shot during an assault. Crawling through | :15:27. | :15:31.
no—man's—land, he saw Arthur Andrews who had been badly wounded. Over the | :15:31. | :15:36.
next two days, in searing heat under sniper fire, he dragged Arthur to | :15:36. | :15:42.
safety on a trenching shovel. Potts was determined to save Andrews | :15:42. | :15:47.
and when you read about the Gallipoli campaign, it's just | :15:47. | :15:50.
amazing. I doubt if he ever got much higher than that. He had to really | :15:50. | :15:59.
crawl. The Trust now needs to raise £165,000 for a bronze that will | :16:00. | :16:04.
certainly catch the eye. The full size statue will be ten | :16:04. | :16:08.
foot long. It will be seven and a half foot high and will weigh over | :16:08. | :16:13.
1.5 tonnes. It's scheduled to be unveiled in August 2015, exactly 100 | :16:13. | :16:21.
years after Potts performed his heroic fate. Feat. Very proud. He | :16:21. | :16:27.
was apparently a very unassuming man and really shunned the highlights. I | :16:27. | :16:33.
think he would have been running for cover somehow. You talk about the | :16:33. | :16:37.
fact that if Potts hadn't rescued him, he would have definitely died. | :16:37. | :16:41.
There is no way that he could have gotten back on his own, so the whole | :16:41. | :16:45.
family really wouldn't exist if he hadn't rescued him. | :16:45. | :16:49.
The exact place the statue will stand is yet to be decided. But what | :16:49. | :16:54.
is certain is that the hero with the shovel will at last inspire his | :16:54. | :17:12.
hometown for generations to come. Incredible bravery. | :17:12. | :17:13.
You have some happy Southampton fans. | :17:13. | :17:14.
Southampton won 1—0 at Liverpool. It's never an easy place to go, but | :17:14. | :17:18.
it's a real mark of how far they've progressed in recent years. | :17:18. | :17:21.
Interestingly, Southampton were the last team to defeat Liverpool back | :17:21. | :17:25.
in March at St Mary's, but Liverpool were top of the table when they | :17:25. | :17:26.
faced Saints on their home turf on This was the first goal Liverpool | :17:26. | :17:38.
conceded this season and it was their first defeat in the Premier | :17:38. | :17:42.
League. It was also the creation's first | :17:42. | :17:48.
goal for the Saints. A joy to play here at Anfield. I think the most | :17:48. | :17:53.
important thing is we win this game. It was a hard game, tough game, but | :17:53. | :18:00.
we were together and good today. I understand they got a standing | :18:00. | :18:04.
ovation at the airport. Elsewhere, there was a full programme of league | :18:04. | :18:16.
Reading beat Derby 3—1 thanks to sloppy defending. | :18:16. | :18:31.
They've been working hard. The transfer window is closed. He's made | :18:31. | :18:36.
a massive impact for everybody and he's been working hard. It was a | :18:36. | :18:39.
shame he was suspended midweek but he's come and put two in the back of | :18:39. | :18:45.
the net. Bhournt made Middlesbrough pay the | :18:45. | :18:55.
penalty twice. —— Bournemouth. | :18:55. | :18:58.
Any celebrations were premature for Cherries fans after a goal got Boro | :18:58. | :19:04.
back in it. This strike levelled the game. | :19:04. | :19:20.
An own goal proved pivotal for Portsmouth. | :19:20. | :19:28.
Cricket now and Hampshire batsman Michael Carberry's been selected for | :19:28. | :19:31.
the England Ashes squad to tour Australia this winter. The | :19:31. | :19:37.
32—year—old opened a sports injuries clinic this afternoon, he featured | :19:37. | :19:41.
in the one—day series in the summer but his only previous test cap was | :19:41. | :19:46.
against Bangladesh in 2010 There is not a lot of guys starting test | :19:46. | :19:51.
career at my age, it's a rarity, but I guess, as people say, if you are | :19:51. | :19:55.
old enough, you are good enough, and experience tells me that the cricket | :19:55. | :20:02.
season is a long season, you know, we'll work on some stuff with the | :20:02. | :20:09.
coaches and keep drilling the basics. | :20:09. | :20:13.
We'll continue the one—dayers into the latter part of the Championship. | :20:13. | :20:19.
A big night for fans of Poole pirates who face Swindon Robins. | :20:19. | :20:27.
It's a rerun of the Grand Final last year. | :20:27. | :20:31.
This is the pit area of the stadium. The Poole Pirates riders getting | :20:31. | :20:35.
their bikes ready for the first of the 15 heats that will contest this | :20:35. | :20:39.
semi—final first leg. About ten or 15 yards away this side, we have the | :20:39. | :20:44.
defending champions, the Swindon Robins getting themselves ready. | :20:44. | :20:48.
These two sides contested the Grand Final 11 months ago and swivened | :20:48. | :20:52.
came out on top winning their first league title for 45 years sparking | :20:52. | :20:57.
great scenes of celebrations down on the south coast. | :20:58. | :21:02.
Their team manager Alan roster says he wants a big lead to take down to | :21:02. | :21:07.
Poole in a weeks' time for the second leg where it's the Pirates | :21:07. | :21:12.
who have the unfamiliar thatting of underdogs —— Alan Rossiter. Here | :21:12. | :21:16.
they are in the play—offs again and now they are here, they are | :21:16. | :21:19.
confident of causing upset against the Swindon Robins. | :21:19. | :21:24.
We'll hope to have the result for you at 0.25 here tonight. That's all | :21:25. | :21:28.
the sport. Thank you very much. Now, it's a | :21:28. | :21:35.
feat four people have managed to swim nonstop around the Isle of | :21:35. | :21:38.
Wight. It's a 60—mile challenge and was completed by Anna Wardley as | :21:38. | :21:42.
part of her fund—raising charity five island swim. We followed Anna's | :21:42. | :21:47.
challenge and the Isle of Wight was a monster to conquer. Starting and | :21:47. | :21:53.
finishing at Ryde sands, it took over 26 hours to complete. | :21:53. | :21:59.
It burnt off a whopping 15,000 calories. | :21:59. | :22:01.
Quite incredible stuff. I'm delighted to say that Anna's joined | :22:01. | :22:05.
us to tell us all about it. Welcome. Thank you. You finished on sad. —— | :22:05. | :22:11.
Saturday. How are you feeling? Great. It was such a fantastic | :22:12. | :22:15.
feeling to finally do the big one and to get round on my first | :22:15. | :22:19.
attempt. I was kind of pretty overwhelmed and yes, feeling pretty | :22:19. | :22:23.
good. I notice you brought in a couple of | :22:23. | :22:27.
things here. I thought that this was a solo | :22:27. | :22:35.
challenge. We have here, well tell us about this lucky duck? It's been | :22:35. | :22:40.
with me on all my challenges, not in the support boat, but in the water | :22:40. | :22:43.
and it's very important that he's there when I'm swimming and he came | :22:43. | :22:49.
the whole 60 miles at the weekend. He was one of the many supporters, | :22:49. | :22:53.
you had incredible people following owing you. Let's take a look at the | :22:53. | :23:00.
moment when you reached the steps at Ryde. | :23:00. | :23:04.
APPLAUSE What was that moment like for you, | :23:04. | :23:09.
Anna? It was just utter relief, to be honest with you. There was very | :23:09. | :23:13.
little joy, it was just relief that it was over and I could finally stop | :23:13. | :23:18.
swimming after 26 and a half hours. I think I'd gone through hell and | :23:18. | :23:23.
back a few times during the swim and I just wanted it all to stop and the | :23:23. | :23:28.
approach up to the Pier was really, really tough. It was just complete | :23:28. | :23:31.
relief. I suppose as well, are you going to | :23:31. | :23:40.
have a go again at Tyree? At the moment, my priority is to have a | :23:40. | :23:44.
rest. Tyree was a brilliant training swim for the Isle of Wight. It was | :23:44. | :23:50.
tough but got me ready for the Isle of Wight which in a way was tougher | :23:50. | :23:54.
so I'm going to have a rest. The idea of swimming up and down your | :23:54. | :24:00.
local pool is offputing, so what made you do this? I'm raising money | :24:00. | :24:05.
for charities and get Hulme support when I'm out there in the water on | :24:05. | :24:11.
my own —— huge support. I was hell bent I was getting around | :24:11. | :24:15.
the island. All the messages from all over the UK and all over the | :24:15. | :24:18.
world, people following the tracker, looking at my position every ten | :24:18. | :24:23.
minutes and I knew all those people were urging me on and there was | :24:23. | :24:26.
absolutely no way I was getting out, I was on a mission to swim back to | :24:26. | :24:31.
Ryde if it killed me. Explain the rice pudding? Eating is essential, | :24:31. | :24:34.
really important. One of the things I eat is rice pudding. My support | :24:34. | :24:39.
team cut off the corner and I piped rice pudding into my mouth. It's not | :24:39. | :24:42.
elegant but gets energy in. While you are in the water? Yes, so I eat | :24:42. | :24:48.
a whole range of thing, pasta, sandwiches and energy gels to keep | :24:48. | :24:53.
the energy up. Absolutely incredible achievement. Thank you so much for | :24:53. | :24:57.
being with us to tell us about it. Thank you very much. Be | :24:57. | :25:00.
Just some weather pictures. Rows of pumpkins have been captured in | :25:00. | :25:04.
Hampshire by Rod Smith and this water vole was caught on camera | :25:04. | :25:09.
today by Heidi Harrison. Lovely weather pictures, thank you very | :25:09. | :25:12.
much, for all of those. We did have a quite a lot of cloud. A north | :25:12. | :25:21.
south divide for most today. Donnite, we will see some dense fog | :25:21. | :25:26.
appearing in places with the warm, moist air we are having at the | :25:26. | :25:30.
moment. The cloud will disappear but the dense fog will set in, reducing | :25:30. | :25:36.
visibility first thing for the rush hour drive. | :25:36. | :25:42.
Mild temperatures. A misty, murky start to the day | :25:42. | :25:46.
tomorrow. Do stay tuned to your local BBC Radio station and there | :25:46. | :25:53.
may be some disruption to travel with the mist and the fog patches | :25:53. | :25:55.
first thing. Around 10 o'clock, we are hoping the | :25:55. | :25:57.
fog will lift. But it will be dense first thing. Sunny spells will start | :25:58. | :26:03.
to appear more readily than today. Pleasantly warm temperatures in the | :26:03. | :26:11.
Some evening sunshine on offer tomorrow night. Cloudy skies during | :26:11. | :26:18.
the early hours of Wednesday morning, once again mist and fog is | :26:18. | :26:22.
a possibility. That low cloud lifting first thing on Wednesday | :26:22. | :26:26.
morning. Lows of 12—14. Very similar temperatures to what we | :26:26. | :26:31.
have tonight. Misty murky starts to Wednesday and | :26:31. | :26:35.
similar to the days for the rest of this week. | :26:36. | :26:38.
The high pressure starts to drift away. The low pressure takes charge | :26:38. | :26:42.
and we'll start to seize some weather fronts push in from the | :26:42. | :26:45.
Atlantic, so some showers at times, bands of rain during the course of | :26:45. | :26:49.
Wednesday afternoon and into Thursday morning. So lots of | :26:49. | :26:52.
sunshine after that misty, murky start first thing, the winds will be | :26:52. | :26:57.
fairly light. Drawing in dry air from the near continent. Wednesday, | :26:57. | :27:02.
we will have a lot of cloud around. A misty start once again and rain is | :27:02. | :27:05.
possible in the form of showers later in the day on Wednesday, | :27:05. | :27:09.
lasting into Thursday. Friday, some sunshine, but it turns unsettled | :27:09. | :27:13.
Friday into the weekend. Thank you very much. Nice weather | :27:13. | :27:19.
for a swim! That is it for from | :27:19. | :27:25. |
