Hello, I'm Sally Taylor. Welcome to South Today. In tonight's programme:

:00:00.:00:07.

Calls to stop plans to close four Hampshire Care Homes after a key

:00:08.:00:12.

resignation at the County Council. A good Samaritan's life in tatters `

:00:13.:00:15.

the charity worker ruined by a ruthless conman's allegation of

:00:16.:00:26.

rape. If I saw someone that looks like they were ill or in distress, I

:00:27.:00:30.

would stop and offer a helping hand. Now I would not go near them. Save

:00:31.:00:33.

our nurseries ` a parents' campaign to stop the closure of facilities

:00:34.:00:36.

used by more than 200 children. And it was over in seconds, but it

:00:37.:00:40.

certainly made its mark. Clearing up after a freak tornado in Hayling

:00:41.:00:48.

Island. I heard this almighty bang. I came out and found that the wind

:00:49.:00:52.

had picked up the caravan, thrown it into the tree, resulting in this

:00:53.:00:53.

damage. Protestors trying to save four

:00:54.:01:05.

council`run care homes in Hampshire are calling for plans to shut them

:01:06.:01:09.

down to be scrapped, after the councillor overseeing a public

:01:10.:01:11.

consultation into their closure resigned from her post. Anna McNair

:01:12.:01:18.

Scott had failed to fully declare a conflict of interest. The leader of

:01:19.:01:22.

Hampshire County Council has told BBC South that her resignation won't

:01:23.:01:25.

affect the process to decide the future of the homes. But opponents

:01:26.:01:30.

of the plans say that process is now fatally flawed. Here's our Political

:01:31.:01:32.

Editor Peter Henley. The public meetings had been

:01:33.:01:45.

emotional. It has highly trained and caring staff, who make the people's

:01:46.:01:50.

life there worth living. The arguments over much loved relatives

:01:51.:01:54.

were fiercely debated. They are treating them like cattle. But

:01:55.:01:58.

Hampshire councillors seemed determined to press ahead with their

:01:59.:02:03.

plan to close four homes in Petersfield, Basingstoke, Romsey and

:02:04.:02:07.

Linda Hirst. On Friday, the counsellor leading the plan, Anna

:02:08.:02:10.

McNair Scott, resigned from her post. Investigations by this

:02:11.:02:16.

campaign forced her to admit that she had not declared an interest.

:02:17.:02:21.

Her husband's involvement in a property development included flats

:02:22.:02:25.

for assisted living. Once I discovered what her husband's

:02:26.:02:28.

business was, I could not see how that would mean that somebody could

:02:29.:02:35.

actually be impartial and those circumstances. It's only a year

:02:36.:02:38.

since the closure of three other care homes in gospel, Winchester and

:02:39.:02:43.

Fleet. But the council says they have to do something to tackle the

:02:44.:02:49.

growing cost of old age. More than 116,000 over 75s in a county, 6000

:02:50.:02:54.

in residential care at a cost of ?480 per week. The council say that

:02:55.:03:01.

the resignation will not affect the programme. I want the council and

:03:02.:03:04.

public to be crystal clear there could be no conflicts of interest,

:03:05.:03:08.

which is why I thought it was appropriate to accept her

:03:09.:03:12.

resignation. And you continue with the process? Oh, yes. The decision,

:03:13.:03:21.

in fact, had more or less arrived, the decision would be taken by the

:03:22.:03:25.

whole cabinet. Campaigners say the closures should be stopped now. I

:03:26.:03:29.

think the consultancy should be abandoned immediately. I think any

:03:30.:03:35.

of the individuals at Hampshire County Council that have been

:03:36.:03:39.

involved in this showed, frankly, back off. Hampshire County Council

:03:40.:03:44.

insists they can stick to their current timetable, with a decision

:03:45.:03:46.

on the future of the homes in November.

:03:47.:03:50.

How significant is this resignation in the scheme of things? It is

:03:51.:03:54.

embarrassing, but more important is the closure programme. Whether a

:03:55.:04:00.

counsellor filed a piece of paperwork correctly is not the

:04:01.:04:04.

centre of all of this. By resigning, before even taking the

:04:05.:04:08.

decision, she has saved the council a lot of trouble. Is it likely that

:04:09.:04:13.

the process will go ahead? There could be a legal challenge, she has

:04:14.:04:17.

probably done something to avoid that by resigning. But just as in

:04:18.:04:20.

the NHS, there is a move towards more care at home. Particularly for

:04:21.:04:25.

those with early stages of dementia, it is much better to be treated in

:04:26.:04:31.

your own home, research suggests. An assured him, there is a lot of

:04:32.:04:35.

trauma involved. I think long`term, they have to be able to fund not

:04:36.:04:41.

just the process, but also the change, moving residents into extra

:04:42.:04:44.

care at home. A good Samaritan has been describing

:04:45.:04:48.

how his life has been torn apart by a conman who repaid his kindness by

:04:49.:04:52.

making a wholly false allegation of rape. Will Clark says the episode

:04:53.:04:55.

led to the collapse of his charity and has left him with depression.

:04:56.:04:59.

The conman, who claimed to be a gay gypsy on the run from his family,

:05:00.:05:03.

has been jailed for perverting the course of justice. Will, who lives

:05:04.:05:06.

in Salisbury, has been talking to our reporter Steve Humphrey.

:05:07.:05:14.

Will Clark is trying very hard to rebuild his life after months of

:05:15.:05:17.

turmoil and anguish caused by a conman. What do I think of him? I

:05:18.:05:23.

hate him. I absolutely hate him. I have tried to use the old head that

:05:24.:05:29.

I had, with the charity, to try to understand what could have damaged

:05:30.:05:34.

him to do this. As I can't. I absolutely hate him for what he has

:05:35.:05:38.

done. This is Shane Peek, the man that caused the heartache. He used

:05:39.:05:44.

the name Stephen Shaw, one of his many aliases. In Salisbury, he told

:05:45.:05:48.

people he was a 17`year`old gay gypsy, on the run from his family in

:05:49.:05:53.

South Yorkshire. In fact, he was a 26`year`old conman who told some

:05:54.:05:59.

very elaborate lies. He was put in contact with will Clark's charity,

:06:00.:06:08.

which had won plaudits for supporting gay, lesbian and bisexual

:06:09.:06:12.

people. Will let him stay at his home, but became suspicious and

:06:13.:06:18.

confronted him. At that point, he removed himself, with the help of a

:06:19.:06:21.

friend he had made, called his social worker and told them I had

:06:22.:06:29.

raped him. When Wiltshire Police began investigating, they soon

:06:30.:06:33.

discovered Shane Peek's true identity and evidence of other

:06:34.:06:36.

offences. Here at Salisbury Crown Court, he was jailed for four and a

:06:37.:06:43.

half years, after he admitted perverting the course of justice and

:06:44.:06:48.

other offences including burglary, theft and fraud. The trial judge

:06:49.:06:51.

said he had targeted people who had gone out of their way to help him.

:06:52.:06:59.

Will says that episode has had a profound impact. He has closed down

:07:00.:07:02.

his charity and is now receiving medical help. I have a psychiatric

:07:03.:07:09.

treatment with a psychologist, this coming week. That is going to be one

:07:10.:07:15.

of many. You are the classic good Samaritan who has tried to do

:07:16.:07:19.

something to help. But all you have hard in return is grief and

:07:20.:07:25.

anguish? Yes, and it does take away your trust in people. I have zero

:07:26.:07:30.

trust. I will not allow myself to be in a position where I can be even

:07:31.:07:36.

looked at or miss read in any way. So I just avoid people. I go out in

:07:37.:07:42.

the daytime, to go to the shops, at certain times of the day when I know

:07:43.:07:46.

there will be less people around will stop taking the dogs out, I do

:07:47.:07:49.

the same. I don't have trust in people any more.

:07:50.:07:51.

A woman has gone into hiding with her dogs after a court ordered that

:07:52.:07:55.

they should be destroyed. The Staffordshire Bull Terriers attacked

:07:56.:07:57.

and killed another dog in Wimborne in Dorset. The owner says it was an

:07:58.:08:01.

accident and she's willing to move away from her home permanently if

:08:02.:08:03.

they could be spared. Back in March, Nadine Deuters had

:08:04.:08:16.

just taken her three staffies out for a walk in a field near her home.

:08:17.:08:21.

Two of them suddenly attacked and killed another dog being walked

:08:22.:08:24.

nearby. In the fracas, the elderly owner broke his ankle. Her dog later

:08:25.:08:31.

died. Mum and son just went direct to the dog, and I did my utmost to

:08:32.:08:38.

save the little thing. And at one stage I know I was able to hold

:08:39.:08:42.

Diamond's lead and I tried so hard to pull her away, but she was just

:08:43.:08:59.

so strong. The dogs have been in trouble before. . This summer a

:09:00.:09:07.

court decided that the two dogs involved should be destroyed. I did

:09:08.:09:12.

say that even if I never came back to Dorset with the dogs would they

:09:13.:09:16.

spare their lives and could there be a reprieve? Because it was an

:09:17.:09:19.

accident, it wasn't intentional. I'm full of deep regret and remorse.

:09:20.:09:25.

Nadine's now gone in to hiding and says her dogs are part of her

:09:26.:09:30.

family. The BBC approached Christchurch and

:09:31.:09:32.

East Dorset Councils for an interview. It told us in a statement

:09:33.:09:36.

that the order to destroy the dogs still stands, and that they must be

:09:37.:09:40.

surrendered. And you can watch more on this story on Inside Out South

:09:41.:09:43.

tonight at 7.30 on BBC One. There's been a 17% drop over the

:09:44.:09:47.

last year in the number of young people in West Berkshire who are not

:09:48.:09:50.

in education, employment or training according to the local council. The

:09:51.:09:54.

figures apply to those aged between 16 and 19. West Berkshire Council

:09:55.:09:57.

puts it down to a ?1 million grant from the Education Funding Agency,

:09:58.:10:00.

that it says has helped more teenagers get vocational

:10:01.:10:03.

qualifications. Still to come in this evening's

:10:04.:10:08.

South Today: Aiming high ` the Paralympic gold medallist shooting

:10:09.:10:16.

for gold again this week in Spain. Plans to demolish a clubhouse used

:10:17.:10:19.

by anglers in Weymouth have been rejected by councillors. The lease

:10:20.:10:22.

on the current clubhouse expires next year. The council wants to

:10:23.:10:27.

knock it down and build a car park in order to generate more money.

:10:28.:10:30.

Members of the Harbour Management Board voted 4`1 to keep the club on

:10:31.:10:36.

the site. One year after the collapse of the company that

:10:37.:10:39.

installed Bournemouth's artificial surf reef, and its owner still can't

:10:40.:10:42.

be traced. Nick Behunin ran New Zealand`based

:10:43.:10:45.

ASR Limited which built the ?3.2m Boscombe Reef in 2009 but the

:10:46.:10:48.

company went into liquidation last September. Bournemouth Council is

:10:49.:10:55.

owed almost ?15,000 and other local contractors involved in the reef's

:10:56.:10:57.

construction four years ago are still owed as much as ?34,000.

:10:58.:11:04.

Parents in Dorset have vowed to fight a decision to close day

:11:05.:11:08.

nurseries which are run by the County Council. The facilities in

:11:09.:11:11.

Blandford and Shaftesbury, which include an out of school club, are

:11:12.:11:17.

used by 250 children. The council says the loss of Government grants

:11:18.:11:20.

means it can no longer afford to keep them open, but parents fear

:11:21.:11:23.

finding suitable alternatives may be impossible.

:11:24.:11:31.

It's the weekend and playtime at Lola's house. But during the week

:11:32.:11:36.

the children gathered here spend time playing away from their homes.

:11:37.:11:40.

They go to Shaftsbury Nursery, which is run by Dorset County Council. The

:11:41.:11:44.

news that it's to close has devastated the parents who depend

:11:45.:11:53.

upon it. It was a complete shock and a bolt out of the blue. It caused

:11:54.:11:57.

panic, because I thought, there are going to be all of these children,

:11:58.:12:00.

looking for other nursery places in a very small town. It is so good

:12:01.:12:05.

there, I can't see how they can justify closing somewhere that would

:12:06.:12:08.

give our children the best start in life. Dorset County Council say the

:12:09.:12:13.

loss of the Government's Early Years Foundation grant means that its two

:12:14.:12:16.

nurseries, at Sure Start centres in Shaftsbury and Blandford, as well as

:12:17.:12:20.

an out of school club there, are losing around ?130,000 a year and

:12:21.:12:21.

are no longer financially Viable. It is unusual for councils

:12:22.:12:32.

to directly operated nurseries for children. It becomes increasingly

:12:33.:12:37.

difficult, when there is a deficit budget, to keep those sorts of

:12:38.:12:42.

facilities open. It is with a heavy heart we are having to take this

:12:43.:12:45.

decision. Parents have until the end of March to find somewhere else for

:12:46.:12:49.

their children to go, and are being offered support. These mums says

:12:50.:12:51.

Shaftsbury's only other nursery and pre`school are full. They're working

:12:52.:12:55.

together to try and to persuade the council to rethink a decision they

:12:56.:13:00.

find hard to accept. Claims of poor pay and zero hour

:13:01.:13:05.

contracts for cleaners working on First Great Western trains have

:13:06.:13:06.

resulted in further strike action this Friday. Members of rail union

:13:07.:13:11.

RMT, working for sub`contractors Mitie, will take industrial action

:13:12.:13:15.

for 24 hours from Friday morning. The union say it's a fight for a

:13:16.:13:19.

living wage and workplace justice. First Great Western said

:13:20.:13:21.

negotiations are ongoing and accused the RMT of playing political games

:13:22.:13:27.

rather than resolving the issues. Smart card tickets for commuters

:13:28.:13:30.

travelling into London will be rolled out to more stations in West

:13:31.:13:34.

Sussex today. Southern Rail is extending usage of its Key smart

:13:35.:13:37.

card to enable commuters to buy tickets into London. The company

:13:38.:13:42.

says the scheme marks the first step towards abandoning paper tickets all

:13:43.:13:43.

together. On to sport. Saints did very well?

:13:44.:13:59.

They certainly did. Pre`season, I spoke to the Southampton manager

:14:00.:14:01.

Mauricio Pochettino and said, how high can the team go? He said, there

:14:02.:14:05.

is no real limit. He's not going to set a limit on what his team can

:14:06.:14:10.

do. They are a surprise package. Saints were fourth for about two

:14:11.:14:14.

hours on Saturday night, before wins for Manchester City and Tottenham

:14:15.:14:17.

over the weekend knocked them back to sixth, they've lost just once in

:14:18.:14:22.

their opening eight fixtures. A great result for them on Saturday.

:14:23.:14:25.

Mauricio Pochettino so far seems an inspired choice by the man who calls

:14:26.:14:30.

the shots, Nicola Cortese. An early chance for Saints, but Pablo Osvaldo

:14:31.:14:33.

could have done better. United in front, Januzai's pass, Boruc with a

:14:34.:14:36.

good save but Van Persie with the follow up. It is always tough when

:14:37.:14:45.

you are behind at Old Trafford. Saints left it late, but the goal is

:14:46.:14:49.

being credited to Dejan Lovren. What a signing he has been. 1`1.

:14:50.:14:59.

Sunni TRANSLATION: We pressed high up the pitch, we pressed a lot. I

:15:00.:15:04.

want to congratulate them, it is difficult to come to a ground like

:15:05.:15:10.

Old Trafford and get a result. We were deciding just to play, to see

:15:11.:15:14.

what we could do. And we took the one point. Going very well indeed.

:15:15.:15:19.

And here's what we gleaned from this weekend's Football League action.

:15:20.:15:24.

It is worth keeping an eye on Reading. Four good goals against

:15:25.:15:30.

Doncaster sending them six in the Championship. They started off with

:15:31.:15:33.

Danny Guthrie. We know he has Premier League ability in midfield

:15:34.:15:38.

and he showed it. Doncaster got one back, in spite of the keeper's best

:15:39.:15:42.

efforts. It wasn't a big problem. Adam Le Fondre keeps popping up when

:15:43.:15:48.

he's needed. More big finishing coming up here. Gareth McLeary

:15:49.:15:53.

lashing in ten minutes from time. Still at the Majestic Stadium,

:15:54.:15:56.

Reading may well want to keep him at this rate. Bournemouth's on loan

:15:57.:16:03.

goalkeeper dislocated his shoulder in this innocuous incident. The

:16:04.:16:11.

Cherries trailed to this goal of the day contender. Pretty much

:16:12.:16:15.

unstoppable. But you can't write them off, they keep coming at you

:16:16.:16:19.

and Mark Pugh got the equaliser in the final minute. The Portsmouth

:16:20.:16:24.

manager Guy Whittingham can afford to smile. His team were improving.

:16:25.:16:30.

Almost 15,500 were at Fratton Park, 9000 more than the next biggest

:16:31.:16:36.

attendance in the division. Portsmouth climb to mid`table.

:16:37.:16:40.

In ice hockey's Premier League it was a good weekend for Basingstoke

:16:41.:16:43.

bison. They beat the table topping Manchester Phoenix 4`2 on Saturday

:16:44.:16:46.

night. They trailed twice. Miroslav Vantroba with the second equaliser

:16:47.:16:49.

to make it 2`2. Bison took control in the third period, the comeback

:16:50.:16:53.

capped by Zac Sullivan with his first league goal. Guildford stay

:16:54.:16:56.

second after the weekend, Bison third, Milton Keynes and Swindon are

:16:57.:17:01.

just below them. On Friday night you may have seen us live at the launch

:17:02.:17:05.

of this year's Rallye sun`seeker. 83 cars were tearing through the

:17:06.:17:08.

heathland between Bournemouth and Poole, many taking part in what was

:17:09.:17:11.

also the final round of the British Rally Championship. And it was the

:17:12.:17:17.

man who took Alexis for a spin last week, Jukka Korhonen, who won the

:17:18.:17:20.

title finishing third in the rally itself, which was won by Oshan

:17:21.:17:27.

Pryce. The champagne flowed on Saturday. London Irish rugby club

:17:28.:17:33.

scored nine tries for the second successive week. They continue their

:17:34.:17:37.

good start to the equivalent of football's Europa League. The club,

:17:38.:17:42.

who play home games at Reading's Stadium, beat their Portuguese

:17:43.:17:50.

opponents. 67`6 victory, well done to them. This week sees the European

:17:51.:17:52.

Disability Shooting Championships take place in Alicante in Spain.

:17:53.:17:55.

London 2012 double medallist Matt Skelhon goes into the contest as one

:17:56.:17:59.

of the favourites. The 28`year`old first started shooting at the 2006

:18:00.:18:02.

Spinal Games in Stoke Mandeville before going on to win gold at the

:18:03.:18:08.

2008 Paralympics in Beijing. He won a silver and a bronze at London

:18:09.:18:13.

2012. Brennan Nicholls has been to see his final preparations.

:18:14.:18:21.

It is a sport where you do battle as much with yourself as others.

:18:22.:18:27.

Shooting requires supreme concentration, as well as an obvious

:18:28.:18:35.

steady hand. Matt Skelhon proved his when he won gold in 2008. When he's

:18:36.:18:41.

in his own, he's hard to beat. I am just worried about the way I am

:18:42.:18:45.

shooting, really. I'm not bothered who is shooting well. As long as I

:18:46.:18:49.

can shoot how I should in training, that is enough. My biggest enemies

:18:50.:18:53.

myself, keeping my head on the game. If I can do that, nobody is going to

:18:54.:18:57.

beat me at the moment. It took a world record to deny him gold at

:18:58.:19:04.

London 2012, but he secured a silver and bronze for Paralympics GB. Since

:19:05.:19:07.

London, the sport has changed the scoring system. Decimal points come

:19:08.:19:11.

into play and the final is a straight shoot off. But that hasn't

:19:12.:19:13.

stopped him setting new world records at the World Cup events in

:19:14.:19:18.

Stoke Mandeville and Turkey. Away from the range, he has been

:19:19.:19:23.

attracted to pass times which again require technique and technology. In

:19:24.:19:30.

the run`up to London 2012, it was remote`controlled helicopters. But

:19:31.:19:34.

fishing is his new hobby of choice. I've been doing it since I was

:19:35.:19:37.

little, my grandad took me years ago and I've been doing it ever since.

:19:38.:19:41.

It's nice and relaxing, a lot of places you can get down to the water

:19:42.:19:47.

's edge, get your stuff out, it's nice and relaxing. Then there is a

:19:48.:19:50.

big adrenaline rush when you get a nice fish on the end. No time for

:19:51.:19:59.

that at the World Championships. Matt is keen to land one of

:20:00.:20:02.

disability shooting's biggest prizes on his road to the Paralympics in

:20:03.:20:05.

2016. A very good shot. We wish him good

:20:06.:20:13.

luck with that. Coming up tomorrow, we have a Caribbean feel to the

:20:14.:20:17.

sport Former Hampshire and West Indies batting legend Gordon

:20:18.:20:20.

Greenidge is back in the region and he had a chat with me after opening

:20:21.:20:24.

a new study support centre at the Ageas Bowl, Hampshire are also

:20:25.:20:27.

marking Black History Month with a exhibition marking the contribution

:20:28.:20:29.

of some of their Caribbean talents who have played for the county.

:20:30.:20:36.

And what a contribution some of them have made. I met him when he was

:20:37.:20:43.

playing here, just at the end for Hampshire, about 87. Such a lovely

:20:44.:20:50.

man. What a batsmen. Quiet, really... He's not changed, he looks

:20:51.:20:57.

like he should still be out there. Shall we talk weather? We will have

:20:58.:21:01.

the full cast in a moment. But the weekend weather has been making the

:21:02.:21:04.

headlines. Residents on Hayling Island in Hampshire have been

:21:05.:21:07.

assessing the damage after a freak tornado struck there yesterday

:21:08.:21:14.

morning, affecting around 100 homes. This is the moment it struck. It

:21:15.:21:19.

caused an estimated ?100,000 worth of damage as it swept through the

:21:20.:21:25.

yard, leaving a trail of devastation. This footage shows how

:21:26.:21:29.

boats were thrown around and left badly damaged, with mast snapped

:21:30.:21:34.

off. It really was dreadful. It also uprooted trees, knocked over walls

:21:35.:21:38.

and four tiles from roofs. There is a fully, nobody was injured but a

:21:39.:21:44.

big clean`up was underway today. The clear and Patrick was continuing

:21:45.:21:48.

today on Hayling Island. About 100 properties are believed to have been

:21:49.:21:52.

damaged. Local roofer Paul Croft has already worked on repairing many of

:21:53.:21:56.

them. Today about five, yesterday about six. We have had another three

:21:57.:22:03.

or four calls today. Quite busy. How badly damaged? It was mostly tiles

:22:04.:22:09.

flying off, hitting cars or next`door's windows. It's caused

:22:10.:22:13.

quite a bit of damage, namely this road and Blackthorn Drive on the

:22:14.:22:19.

end. Fairly localised? Yes. This was the scene yesterday. As well as

:22:20.:22:23.

damaged roofs, several trees were blown down, causing damage to houses

:22:24.:22:30.

and cars. It was just after 7am when it struck. We heard and felt this

:22:31.:22:35.

big, strong, howling wind. My husband described it as a ball of

:22:36.:22:38.

wind that came through the house. The house shock, like there was an

:22:39.:22:46.

earthquake. It felt like the roof was going to come through the

:22:47.:22:48.

house, the windows rattled and the roof rattled. Then it was gone in a

:22:49.:22:56.

blast. The seafront border brunt of the tornado hit. This beach hut had

:22:57.:23:02.

the roofs blown off. This one lost most of the felt. This one was blown

:23:03.:23:06.

from its base by the sheer force of the wind. The high wind also brought

:23:07.:23:12.

down trees elsewhere in the south, including in this garden in West

:23:13.:23:17.

Sussex. At Finchampstead, near Woking, lightning struck a house,

:23:18.:23:23.

causing serious damage. We heard an almighty bang, that sounded just

:23:24.:23:28.

like a bomb. It took a few seconds to sink in, what was it? We came out

:23:29.:23:34.

the front and we looked cross the road to see there was a massive hole

:23:35.:23:38.

in the roof of the property opposite. High wind continued to

:23:39.:23:42.

buffet part of the South today. Next, the threat of heavy rain.

:23:43.:23:52.

Quite frightening when something like that happens. Is it a tornado?

:23:53.:23:57.

I have spoken to The Met office and they have been looking at their

:23:58.:24:00.

radar, which is effectively the radar that occurred during that time

:24:01.:24:04.

between seven o'clock and eight o'clock in the morning. They can

:24:05.:24:08.

confirm there was a storm rotation, what you would see with a twist, a

:24:09.:24:13.

circulating tornado. With the defined damaged track that the storm

:24:14.:24:17.

tuck, and the eyewitness reports, all evidence points to it being a

:24:18.:24:21.

tornado but they cannot confirm it. This is, what, the tracking? Between

:24:22.:24:26.

six o'clock and eight o'clock. You can see the storm moving over

:24:27.:24:31.

Hayling Island. That intense burst of rain. It moves and tracks

:24:32.:24:37.

northwards. We have had three lightning strikes as well. And we

:24:38.:24:44.

have rough weather to come? It's going to be unsettled, not the best

:24:45.:24:49.

of pictures. But this fallen leaf is pretty pretty. This fallen leaf was

:24:50.:24:55.

captured by Tim Lias in the rain in Bournemouth today. Dan Marshall took

:24:56.:24:59.

this picture of a hawk resting on his pergola in Grendon Underwood,

:25:00.:25:01.

Buckinghamshire. And Philip Pratley took this picture of the wild

:25:02.:25:05.

weather at West Wittering beach in West Sussex.

:25:06.:25:12.

There will be spells of rain and thunder, turning quite windy at

:25:13.:25:19.

times. Very mild for the time of year. Temperatures three or four

:25:20.:25:23.

degrees above the seasonal average. We can expect more rainfall, with

:25:24.:25:28.

strong, gusty wind. Gusts of 30 or 40 mph along coastal structures. The

:25:29.:25:32.

rain is more likely for western areas. The Met office have issued a

:25:33.:25:36.

yellow weather warning for Dorset and Wiltshire until midnight

:25:37.:25:39.

tonight. Elsewhere, slightly drier, with temperatures falling to about

:25:40.:25:44.

12 or 15 Celsius. A mild start, a dry start for eastern areas. Very

:25:45.:25:47.

quickly, the rain will engulf much of the reason. `` region. It will

:25:48.:26:01.

hit most of us by about 12 o'clock. Still mild temperatures, despite

:26:02.:26:05.

strong wind and heavy rainfall. The rain may become intense tomorrow

:26:06.:26:08.

afternoon. You can see the green and blue as it tracks northwards. Dry

:26:09.:26:13.

conditions to follow, but Worrall two thundery downpours over the

:26:14.:26:19.

course of the morning. Wednesday daytime a start on a wet note, but

:26:20.:26:22.

it will be an improving picture. A slight ridge of high pressure

:26:23.:26:27.

building from the south. It tends more settled towards the end of the

:26:28.:26:30.

day and overnight into Thursday morning. Maybe turning chilly as

:26:31.:26:34.

well. We still have the wind, the mild wind coming from the west and

:26:35.:26:38.

south`west. An improving picture on Wednesday afternoon. Here it is the

:26:39.:26:41.

outlook for the rest of the week. There will be some rain about

:26:42.:26:44.

tomorrow. It could turn heavy, in particular the middle part of the

:26:45.:26:51.

afternoon. Strong, bluster `` blustery wind. The showers will fade

:26:52.:26:56.

away, but the wind stays breast from the south`west. The wind stays brisk

:26:57.:27:06.

all weekend. Whatever you are doing, take care

:27:07.:27:09.

and make sure your weather pictures keep coming in, or any video of

:27:10.:27:15.

things that might be occurring. And tomorrow we will have how to be the

:27:16.:27:23.

perfect ball boy or ball girl. That is it from us, good night.

:27:24.:27:24.
