Dominating Portsmouth and bringing a boost to the city - | :00:07. | :00:12.
a dress rehearsal for the arrival of Britain's biggest | :00:13. | :00:14.
Where do you get it to anchor in the fog, what is plan B, getting | :00:15. | :00:25.
everybody thinking and testing themselves. | :00:26. | :00:27.
The Government is backing it but will the planning application | :00:28. | :00:29.
for a new garden village of 6000 homes near Fareham get approval? | :00:30. | :00:32.
The jeweller's business that's stood the test of time - | :00:33. | :00:38.
celebrating 200 years in the same Wiltshire family. | :00:39. | :00:42.
I will be finding out how a dance routine from a 1980s TV programme | :00:43. | :00:53.
has got people in training for this year's Bournemouth Bay run. | :00:54. | :00:58.
They're the ships which will transform the Royal Navy - | :00:59. | :01:00.
and they've already boosted Portsmouth's economy. | :01:01. | :01:03.
The new Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers will be | :01:04. | :01:05.
the biggest warships in British history. | :01:06. | :01:08.
The first of the two - HMS Queen Elizabeth - | :01:09. | :01:10.
is due to arrive in Portsmouth later this year. | :01:11. | :01:14.
More than ?100 million of government money has been spent readying | :01:15. | :01:17.
Portsmouth's dockyard for her arrival, and today marked | :01:18. | :01:21.
another milestone in that journey, with the first opportunity to see | :01:22. | :01:23.
HMS Queen Elizabeth will have almost 700 crew on board. | :01:24. | :01:31.
That will more than double when flying operations start | :01:32. | :01:33.
involved in supporting her while she's in dock. | :01:34. | :01:38.
It's all worth millions of pounds a year | :01:39. | :01:40.
Our reporter Steve Humphrey is at the Royal Navy dockyard | :01:41. | :01:44.
It has been a very foggy day for a naval dress rehearsal. The idea was | :01:45. | :02:01.
to get this big American ship into Portsmouth to test some of the | :02:02. | :02:05.
facilities that have been built for the Royal Navy's big new aircraft | :02:06. | :02:13.
carriers. This ship is around 40,000 tonnes, the new aircraft carriers | :02:14. | :02:18.
will be about 65,000 tonnes, and they are substantially longer and a | :02:19. | :02:24.
bit taller than the American ship. This ship was supposed to arrive in | :02:25. | :02:28.
Portsmouth this morning but because of the fog she only crept into | :02:29. | :02:30.
harbour this afternoon. They're just putting the finishing | :02:31. | :02:32.
touches to the ?100 million project to prepare Portsmouth's naval base | :02:33. | :02:34.
for the arrival of the A huge jetty has been re-built, | :02:35. | :02:37.
buildings have been upgraded and shipping channels | :02:38. | :02:43.
are being dredged, making It's all giving the city | :02:44. | :02:45.
an economic boost. The whole of Portsmouth will benefit | :02:46. | :02:50.
from these carriers. People will want to come from miles | :02:51. | :02:57.
around to see her and I think it will be fantastic, | :02:58. | :03:00.
so I hope everybody benefits from that, and they're an amazing | :03:01. | :03:02.
feat of engineering and I think they will be fantastic | :03:03. | :03:05.
for the local area. These computer-generated images show | :03:06. | :03:08.
what the new aircraft carriers will look like when they come | :03:09. | :03:10.
into Portsmouth - the decision to base the new ships here means | :03:11. | :03:14.
a steady flow of work It's estimated around 2000 people | :03:15. | :03:17.
across the region will be involved That extends around | :03:18. | :03:25.
the Solent region. The companies around with | :03:26. | :03:31.
the various technology, their supply chains going further and further | :03:32. | :03:35.
back, but also a much larger and more skilled workforce that will be | :03:36. | :03:39.
coming into the naval base each day. Up in Rosyth in Scotland, | :03:40. | :03:44.
HMS Queen Elizabeth is in the final stages of being fitted out | :03:45. | :03:49.
and tested - she'll undergo lengthy sea trials before she enters | :03:50. | :03:51.
Portsmouth for the very first time. With me in the naval base is the | :03:52. | :04:04.
leader of Portsmouth City Council, Councillor Donna Jones. It was only | :04:05. | :04:09.
a few years ago in 2006 when people hear what fighting for the future of | :04:10. | :04:12.
the naval base. Things have certainly turned round. They | :04:13. | :04:18.
certainly have and with Portsmouth being home to the two biggest | :04:19. | :04:22.
warships this country has ever else, the Queen Elizabeth aircraft | :04:23. | :04:26.
carriers, this is a significant sea change for Portsmouth. We know with | :04:27. | :04:30.
the majority of the service fleet being based here the naval base is | :04:31. | :04:35.
in a good position. But you have to keep the pressure on the government | :04:36. | :04:40.
for Portsmouth to get its share of defence spending. Going into the | :04:41. | :04:43.
next Strategic Defence Review, whenever that takes place, as leader | :04:44. | :04:47.
of the City Council he, working with the Royal Navy, I am happy about | :04:48. | :04:54.
Portsmouth's position but there is a new ship about to be built, the type | :04:55. | :05:00.
26, and I want to make sure that they are here, in one of the most | :05:01. | :05:04.
sophisticated and advanced military bases in the country. Without this | :05:05. | :05:08.
basic Portsmouth economically would be a very different place? Yes, we | :05:09. | :05:14.
know that around 2000 jobs will be created over the next three years | :05:15. | :05:17.
when the Queen Elizabeth and the HMS Prince of Wales will be here. | :05:18. | :05:21.
Initially thought it -- they would not be in the base at the same time | :05:22. | :05:25.
but the Ministry of Defence said they will be here 25% of the time | :05:26. | :05:30.
together, creating around 2000 jobs in the local economy, in Southampton | :05:31. | :05:37.
and the Isle of Wight. When the HMS Queen Elizabeth comes into harbour a | :05:38. | :05:41.
big celebration? Not just a national celebration but a world event. We | :05:42. | :05:46.
are key member of Nato and our position with the UN is key. This | :05:47. | :05:51.
will be a joint alliance with America and it will be a spectacle | :05:52. | :05:55.
for the UK. From the naval base here in | :05:56. | :05:58.
Portsmouth, back to you in the studio, Sally. | :05:59. | :06:00.
Three new road upgrades have been announced for our region. | :06:01. | :06:02.
They're aimed at tackling some of the worst bottleneck | :06:03. | :06:04.
junctions in the South, where tens of thousands of drivers | :06:05. | :06:07.
find themselves stuck in long queues day after day. | :06:08. | :06:09.
The announcement comes a little more than a week since a scheme | :06:10. | :06:12.
to upgrade the A27 at Chichester was suddenly ditched | :06:13. | :06:14.
The big winner - or loser, depending on your point of view - | :06:15. | :06:22.
is Guildford, with two junctions off the A3 both getting upgrades. | :06:23. | :06:26.
They are the northbound off slip at the university interchange | :06:27. | :06:29.
and the southbound off slip at the Stoke interchange. | :06:30. | :06:34.
The schemes will cost a little over ?4 million in total. | :06:35. | :06:38.
Both are notorious traffic hotspots getting in and out of the town - | :06:39. | :06:42.
this is what people who drove into Guildford today made of it. | :06:43. | :06:46.
I think the town centre needs more attention. | :06:47. | :06:49.
There is too much traffic going through the town centre, we | :06:50. | :06:52.
could do with a bypass, to be honest. | :06:53. | :06:54.
I would appreciate it but I'd like them to do it quickly if | :06:55. | :06:57.
Even my uncle talks about it having been | :06:58. | :07:04.
an issue for about the last 20 years, so, yes, it's a long time | :07:05. | :07:07.
that something was done really, so hopefully we can sort | :07:08. | :07:10.
it out because it's a complete bottleneck and it's a real pain, so, | :07:11. | :07:13.
yes, I hope they get on with it quickly. | :07:14. | :07:15.
The other scheme getting money is improvements to the M27 | :07:16. | :07:17.
Now, this comes just over a week since a scheme to upgrade the A27 | :07:18. | :07:24.
So is the ?250 million earmarked for that now going to smaller | :07:25. | :07:30.
This is what the Secretary of State for Transport, | :07:31. | :07:34.
The decision in Chichester was a difficult one. | :07:35. | :07:39.
The divisions in the local community about what is the right solution | :07:40. | :07:42.
for Chichester are so pronounced that I felt it better not to go | :07:43. | :07:46.
We are making the improvements at Arundel and we're not | :07:47. | :07:53.
simply diverting the money into today's announcement. | :07:54. | :07:55.
We will spend the money thoughtfully and carefully that isn't | :07:56. | :07:57.
Well, West Sussex County Council has got together with other interested | :07:58. | :08:01.
parties to lobby to get the scheme reinstated. | :08:02. | :08:05.
So far they've written to the Secretary of State | :08:06. | :08:07.
to try to get him to reconsider the decision. | :08:08. | :08:12.
They've requested a meeting to talk about the way forward | :08:13. | :08:15.
and are arranging community workshops to build a case to get | :08:16. | :08:18.
Chris Grayling did sound pretty resolute, though, | :08:19. | :08:28.
so we'll have to wait to see if that really is a road to nowhere. | :08:29. | :08:31.
The road schemes announced today are due to be completed | :08:32. | :08:34.
It's the South's biggest new housing development, with 6000 homes, | :08:35. | :08:37.
shops and services planned for fields outside | :08:38. | :08:39.
Welborne Garden Village has backing from the Government but hasn't been | :08:40. | :08:46.
without controversy and there've been months of arguments and delays. | :08:47. | :08:48.
A planning application has now been submitted, | :08:49. | :08:50.
allowing people to see what it might eventually look like. | :08:51. | :08:53.
It's been a bumpy ride but the path now seems clear | :08:54. | :08:58.
A row between landowners about releasing land had to be | :08:59. | :09:05.
resolved in the High Court, and Fareham Borough Council | :09:06. | :09:09.
threatened compulsory-purchase orders to speed up the project. | :09:10. | :09:12.
But now an outline planning application has | :09:13. | :09:13.
This is the masterplan for the Garden Village. | :09:14. | :09:20.
This is the M27 along the bottom here, junction 10, | :09:21. | :09:26.
alongside the motorway, and then this is the land dedicated | :09:27. | :09:32.
There will also be three primary schools, and a secondary | :09:33. | :09:37.
school, as well as shops and community facilities. | :09:38. | :09:41.
Nearly 2,000 of the homes will be affordable, and the official garden | :09:42. | :09:48.
village status opens the door to extra funding | :09:49. | :09:50.
The developers and the council blame each other for the year's delay, | :09:51. | :09:56.
Well, I think there is a wonderful opportunity now to start again. | :09:57. | :10:01.
They have everything that they've asked for, | :10:02. | :10:03.
they can now get behind us and work with us, and if they are working | :10:04. | :10:07.
with us everything can go on awful lot faster to get quality houses | :10:08. | :10:10.
The council, though, remains cautious. | :10:11. | :10:15.
We are concerned enough to continue with our development strategy, | :10:16. | :10:19.
which is that we will continue to consider compulsory | :10:20. | :10:21.
purchase should that become necessary, so that rolls on, | :10:22. | :10:26.
but if in the meantime all of the landowners say, | :10:27. | :10:28.
yes, we are in control, we're ready to roll, | :10:29. | :10:30.
If the planning application is approved later this year, | :10:31. | :10:36.
diggers could be moving in by autumn next year. | :10:37. | :10:42.
A care worker from West Sussex who stole from a vulnerable | :10:43. | :10:45.
pensioner she was looking after has been given a suspended | :10:46. | :10:47.
39-year-old Theresa Stratton from Littlehampton was caught | :10:48. | :10:53.
on a CCTV camera stealing money from David Skerritt's wallet. | :10:54. | :10:56.
His family had installed the camera to make sure he was safe. | :10:57. | :10:59.
Stratton was sentenced at Chichester Crown Court | :11:00. | :11:01.
to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. | :11:02. | :11:06.
She will also have to do 260 hours' unpaid work. | :11:07. | :11:14.
It's emerged that some detainees at an immigration removal centre | :11:15. | :11:16.
close to Gatwick Airport have been held there for as long | :11:17. | :11:19.
Its latest inspection report also found that children had been | :11:20. | :11:23.
detained at Brook House, which holds almost 400 | :11:24. | :11:25.
adult male asylum seekers, illegal immigrants | :11:26. | :11:28.
Coming up later, the weekend forecast from Alexis, | :11:29. | :11:37.
Yes, these bowlers are taking part in what they hope will be the | :11:38. | :11:48.
longest match in history here in Dorset this weekend. The count down | :11:49. | :11:56.
clock is on, I will have all of the sport from here in Weymouth a bit | :11:57. | :11:57.
later. A week-long crackdown on people | :11:58. | :11:59.
using their mobile phones while driving in Hampshire saw | :12:00. | :12:05.
officers stop 186 people. The majority of those caught - | :12:06. | :12:07.
almost eight out of ten - were men, and seven out of ten | :12:08. | :12:10.
were over the age of 25. The figures show a small drop | :12:11. | :12:13.
in the numbers of people stopped 220 people were caught | :12:14. | :12:16.
during a previous campaign before It's promising an opportunity | :12:17. | :12:19.
for visitors to get hands-on with their local | :12:20. | :12:32.
history and heritage. The West Berkshire Museum | :12:33. | :12:34.
in Newbury has just completed A new permanent exhibition tells | :12:35. | :12:36.
the story of the area from prehistoric times | :12:37. | :12:39.
to the present day. Allen Sinclair's been | :12:40. | :12:41.
for a look round. The impressive buildings that | :12:42. | :12:43.
contain West Berkshire Museum were refurbished three years ago, | :12:44. | :12:45.
but although some local treasures went on show, | :12:46. | :12:49.
there was clearly potential to make Now a fresh injection | :12:50. | :12:52.
of Heritage lottery money, council cash and fundraising has | :12:53. | :13:01.
allowed the curators to weave the threads of local history | :13:02. | :13:03.
into a much more coherent - Many of the objects have never | :13:04. | :13:06.
been on show before. We can have a permanent exhibition | :13:07. | :13:20.
now and have temporary exhibitions to keep the locals coming back and | :13:21. | :13:25.
to tell their history through their objects. | :13:26. | :13:28.
The museum now charts the story of West Berkshire | :13:29. | :13:30.
from prehistoric times, via the Civil War, | :13:31. | :13:32.
to the Greenham Common peace camps, from the cloth trade that put | :13:33. | :13:35.
the town on the map to the industries that mean the area | :13:36. | :13:38.
A much more thorough approach to telling the story and more | :13:39. | :13:45.
opportunities to get involved personally. If people don't get | :13:46. | :13:51.
involved it doesn't have so much impact. If it's about kids coming in | :13:52. | :13:55.
and getting dressed up in historic clothes or an art project or a | :13:56. | :13:58.
school visit... Among the striking new exhibits | :13:59. | :14:00.
is a high-definition film, viewing the towns and villages | :14:01. | :14:02.
of West Berkshire from above, linked It is not cheap. This has been a | :14:03. | :14:14.
?2.2 million project. The council has spent ?850,000 on this and we | :14:15. | :14:19.
have had very generous donations from other sources, the Heritage | :14:20. | :14:22.
Lottery Fund, the green and common trust, friends of West Berkshire | :14:23. | :14:28.
Museum and many private donators. -- the Greenham Common trust. | :14:29. | :14:32.
The Museum's free for visitors, and various events are planned | :14:33. | :14:35.
in the coming weeks to celebrate its new lease of life. | :14:36. | :14:38.

In these fast-paced days businesses come and go. | :14:40. | :14:41.
But a jeweller's shop in Salisbury is staking a claim | :14:42. | :14:44.
to being the oldest family-run business in Wiltshire. | :14:45. | :14:49.
W Carter and Son has been trading from the same premises | :14:50. | :14:51.
Joe Campbell paid the shop a visit to find out just how it's managed | :14:52. | :14:56.
This is a historic corner of Salisbury, place where businesses | :14:57. | :15:05.
like to flaunt their heritage, but one has them all beat. | :15:06. | :15:13.
Step through the door at W Carter and Son and you step back in time. | :15:14. | :15:19.
The julep is back row claims to be the oldest family run business in | :15:20. | :15:24.

jet age, the computer age and umpteen generations later the | :15:42. | :15:45.
business ticks on. It is one of those businesses which is a lifetime | :15:46. | :15:49.
hobby as much as anything. Over the years we have had the odd tea are | :15:50. | :15:53.

-- tiara. You are not saying who buy? No, you have to be discreet. | :16:00. | :16:07.
The new boy turned old boy Brian is now stepping back but upcoming | :16:08. | :16:11.
generations appreciate a bit of heritage. In this trade it is the | :16:12. | :16:15.
perfect place to wear a watch and chain and my pocket watch here, | :16:16. | :16:21.
dated 1755, so quite an old piece, older than the business! For | :16:22. | :16:26.
customers as well, the shop has been something of a fixture. They always | :16:27. | :16:30.
give you good advice and they sell good stuff. It is always quick sales | :16:31. | :16:40.
as well. Wedding ring. So that has recently stood the test of time! | :16:41. | :16:48.
Yes, 62 years. 63 years. Not quite as long as the business but a good | :16:49. | :16:50.
innings. Yes, it's good. As world-record attempts | :16:51. | :16:55.
go it's very sedate - a game of bowls by six players - | :16:56. | :17:00.
BUT they've got to keep It's going to take a lot | :17:01. | :17:03.
of stamina and let's Well, Sally, they are about six | :17:04. | :17:20.

and help their heroes, but only six players, and with my skills I am not | :17:32. | :17:38.
likely to help them bring much. They will play in shifts, two at a time, | :17:39. | :17:46.
and I have not done too badly at that one but I don't think they will | :17:47. | :17:53.
call me up too soon. Lots of fun, lots of fundraising going on. | :17:54. | :17:55.

to have their A-game on this evening against an unpredictable | :18:13. | :18:14.
There are ten games to go and plenty of those are here at the Amex. | :18:15. | :18:24.
The Seagulls have only lost twice in their last 29 at home | :18:25. | :18:26.
They also have to play several sides in the lower reaches | :18:27. | :18:30.
of the Championship and that could be the key at the end of April | :18:31. | :18:34.
to see whether they can make it into those final two places. | :18:35. | :18:37.
They have coped with the injury to Shane Duffy, Uwe Huenemeier | :18:38. | :18:39.
is set to play at centre back once again. | :18:40. | :18:48.
Goals from that game at 10:30pm tonight. I went a bit long on my | :18:49. | :18:57.
first bowl but I will see if I can do any better. I might have invaded | :18:58. | :19:02.
the world record attempt to my left so let's hope that has some turn on | :19:03. | :19:04.
it. Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings | :19:05. | :19:07.
has said he's extremely disappointed at his five-game ban and reiterated | :19:08. | :19:10.
he didn't intentionally stamp He starts a five-game ban tomorrow, | :19:11. | :19:14.
as the Cherries host West Ham Reading hope to build | :19:15. | :19:21.
on their impressive point against Newcastle by getting | :19:22. | :19:25.
a win at Preston. Oxford and Swindon hit | :19:26. | :19:30.
the road in League One, While Portsmouth, who are up | :19:31. | :19:32.
into the top three in League Two, hope to continue their fine away | :19:33. | :19:37.
form at Colchester. Follow all the action online | :19:38. | :19:40.
and commentary on BBC local radio. Surrey Storm, based in Guildford, | :19:41. | :19:45.
take on Hertfordshire Mavericks in the London Live event which draws | :19:46. | :19:50.
thousands of fans to the capital It is another moment for this sport | :19:51. | :20:06.
to get into the spotlight and I went to see them earlier. | :20:07. | :20:08.
They are the team that has taken the Netball Superleague by storm. | :20:09. | :20:11.
Two-time defending league champions and top of the table. | :20:12. | :20:13.
Surrey are ready for the Copper Box this weekend and their game | :20:14. | :20:16.
It will be my first quite big game at the Copper Box. | :20:17. | :20:20.
Obviously, big Olympics fan, big basketball fan, | :20:21. | :20:21.
that was the basketball arena, so I'm excited to be playing | :20:22. | :20:24.
And I've just been getting the game on with my girls | :20:25. | :20:42.
The London Live event is one of the biggest in the calendar, | :20:43. | :20:45.
bringing 6000 fans together and live TV coverage. | :20:46. | :20:47.
Some girls are really nervous about playing in front | :20:48. | :20:50.
of a crowd of about 6000, which they've never done before, | :20:51. | :20:52.
and the others have and their experience | :20:53. | :21:03.
about playing in those stadiums is very helpful. | :21:04. | :21:05.
On paper Surrey are the favourites for this one. | :21:06. | :21:07.
The Mavericks have lost two of their three matches so far | :21:08. | :21:10.
I think our key is that we come together a lot. | :21:11. | :21:13.
We're a great team, we communicate well, | :21:14. | :21:15.
and it's not just on the court but off the court, too, | :21:16. | :21:19.
so having that chemistry in the team is really crucial, especially | :21:20. | :21:22.
The atmosphere, I think, is going to be amazing, | :21:23. | :21:25.
and for us it's about not getting overwhelmed with the atmosphere | :21:26. | :21:28.
If they follow that advice, Surrey will be hard to beat. | :21:29. | :21:32.
I think I need some advice on my bowls. Not too bad because I only | :21:33. | :21:36.
started practising about half an hour ago. 72 hours of bowls, why are | :21:37. | :21:42.
you doing it? One is to highlight what you are doing, bowling. Yours | :21:43. | :21:50.
was within four feet, a dustbin lid. We say that if you get within that | :21:51. | :21:55.
you will get hooked. We are raising money through the Facebook page for | :21:56. | :21:59.
charity. Six big charities, the main one was the one we did last year, | :22:00. | :22:06.
meningitis, we raised ?1500 in the little game and we have progressed | :22:07. | :22:15.
now to six charities, help the heroes, Disability Bowls, Cancer | :22:16. | :22:25.
Reach Search -- Research. You are well on the way to get the money | :22:26. | :22:31.
already? We are not there yet. We are a long way away! You ask when | :22:32. | :22:39.
this will end? One o'clock on Monday, hopefully with a new world | :22:40. | :22:46.
record. Don't join in any more, we don't | :22:47. | :22:48.
want any more disasters! Many places saw lingering fog well | :22:49. | :23:03.
past lunchtime and through tonight it will make a return. Even for | :23:04. | :23:10.
inland areas. Mist and fog will develop during the night, a good | :23:11. | :23:13.
feel of cloud, maybe the odd spot of drizzle here and there, and | :23:14. | :23:18.
temperatures falling away to a mild eight or nine. A light southerly | :23:19. | :23:22.
breeze developing. After a misty and murky start tomorrow, we are hopeful | :23:23. | :23:26.
with the dry air coming off France we will see the cloud thin and break | :23:27. | :23:31.
in places to allow Sunny spells. More cloud further to the north but | :23:32. | :23:37.
in the sunshine it will feel very mild. The warm air from the | :23:38. | :23:41.
continent will allow some places to reach 14, potentially 15 to 16 the | :23:42. | :23:48.
high. Tomorrow night, patchy rain will arrive during the early hours | :23:49. | :23:52.
of the morning ahead of a weather front double move in by dawn on | :23:53. | :23:56.
Sunday and temperatures will fall to around eight or nine Celsius, the | :23:57. | :24:00.
wind is fairly light. Through Sunday this band of rain will be with us, | :24:01. | :24:05.
two cold fronts moving from West to East. The first during the morning | :24:06. | :24:11.
clearing away, some heavy rain on that, the second one a dying weather | :24:12. | :24:15.
front, so not much rain but some patchy rain through the afternoon. | :24:16. | :24:19.
Brighter spells developing for western areas later but a lot of | :24:20. | :24:24.
cloud for much of the region and temperatures on Sunday a lot lower. | :24:25. | :24:30.
Looking at the weekend at as a whole, Saturday some sunny spells | :24:31. | :24:35.
and mainly dry, but a misty and murky start in places. Sunday a lot | :24:36. | :24:40.
cooler with a band of rain moving through. Rain at times, two bands of | :24:41. | :24:45.
rain, one with heavy rain, the second some light on patchy rain. | :24:46. | :24:48.
Here is the rest of the week's weather and into next week, a lot of | :24:49. | :24:54.
rain to start tomorrow, but he dry air from France will enable the | :24:55. | :24:58.
cloud to break up and temperatures to reach 14 to 16 degrees. Rain on | :24:59. | :25:04.
Sunday and on Monday and Tuesday it should be dry. | :25:05. | :25:08.
Do you remember the Summertime Specials of the 1980s? | :25:09. | :25:11.
It was a TV variety show featuring song and dance | :25:12. | :25:13.
The show moved around various seaside towns. | :25:14. | :25:16.
Some of the episodes were filmed in Bournemouth, | :25:17. | :25:18.
where there was something of an '80s revival in the town. | :25:19. | :25:20.
Today one of those opening sequences was faithfully recreated, | :25:21. | :25:22.
with a little help from Sean Killick. | :25:23. | :25:31.
The 1980s are in full swing and the TV variety Summerside Special danced | :25:32. | :25:41.
its way to Bournemouth, big hairdos, crop tops and all. This | :25:42. | :25:45.
light-hearted dance routine opened the show. When a video of it was | :25:46. | :25:50.
posted online a couple of years ago it became hit all over again. Now it | :25:51. | :25:55.
has inspired a tribute video which will be used to help motivate | :25:56. | :26:00.
athletes in next month's Bournemouth Bay run, which this year as a 1980s | :26:01. | :26:06.
theme to mark its 35th anniversary. It is such fun, which is what we | :26:07. | :26:11.
want for the event, all abilities, one K, five K, ten Kate, a half | :26:12. | :26:18.
marathon. As soon as I heard I thought, this is perfect. From | :26:19. | :26:22.
production perspective it has been interesting to revisit the shots and | :26:23. | :26:26.
line them up. A lot of things have changed around Bournemouth so has | :26:27. | :26:30.
been relatively difficult but it has been a fun challenge. The 1980s | :26:31. | :26:35.
video featured a professional dance troupe. The new visit video has a | :26:36. | :26:41.
group of arts students from the University of Bournemouth. We wanted | :26:42. | :26:45.
a modern twist with some new choreography, a bit of difference. | :26:46. | :26:52.
The original is very 1980s. I think it is fun, really fun, but not | :26:53. | :26:56.
something we do on a daily basis. The eagle eye will notice they are | :26:57. | :27:03.
all female but the 80s video had a couple of men, including a rather | :27:04. | :27:08.
square looking man with a suit and tie. Where on earth could they find | :27:09. | :27:13.
a stand-in today? I don't think this table make the final edit. The run | :27:14. | :27:19.
is on the 2nd of April and I hope those potentially taking part are | :27:20. | :27:26.
substantially fitter than I am. Brilliant! What a star. | :27:27. | :27:35.
John Travolta Patrick Swayze, which is John? -- or Patrick. | :27:36. | :27:54.
So, like, you get sponsored to swap clothes with somebody for a day. | :27:55. | :27:56.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, I don't get that. So, maybe... | :27:57. | :27:59.
I don't get that. ..you wear your mother's clothes? | :28:00. | :28:01.
I don't get it. What does she wear? No, no, she wears someone else's. | :28:02. | :28:05.
OK, I don't get that, it's too complicated. Do another one. | :28:06. | :28:09.
So, like, you get sponsored to let people lick stuff | :28:10. | :28:12.
No, but, like, you get these flavoured... Cool, yeah. | :28:13. | :28:16.
Not going to happen. Peanut butter. Do another one. | :28:17. | :28:19.

Let's Sing And Dance exploded onto our screens, | :28:25. | :28:26.
setting the stage alight...literally. | :28:27. | :28:29.
Stars were a-swinging... Could somebody help me? | :28:30. | :28:35. |
