The schoolgirl who killed herself jumping off a bridge. An inquest | :00:17. | :00:19.
hears she was involved with older men on the internet. | :00:19. | :00:23.
Good evening. Simone Grice was just 15. We will hear more evidence from | :00:23. | :00:24.
the inquest which opened in Camborne today. | :00:24. | :00:27.
Also on Spotlight tonight, as numbers of people undergoing weight | :00:27. | :00:30.
loss surgery soars, one woman tells us without it she feared for her | :00:30. | :00:36.
life. I had an obsession with food. I was addicted to food. I was | :00:36. | :00:41.
seeking myself to death, I really was. | :00:41. | :00:44.
-- beating myself to death. Why two of Devon's biggest public | :00:44. | :00:46.
sector organisations are at loggerheads over parking in this | :00:46. | :00:48.
road. And springing into the new year as | :00:48. | :00:58.
A 15-year-old girl who jumped to her death from a road bridge in | :00:58. | :01:01.
Cornwall had been involved in relationships with two older men | :01:01. | :01:04.
she had met on the internet. An inquest heard that Simone Grice, | :01:04. | :01:07.
from Redruth, had received a text from one of the men on the day she | :01:07. | :01:11.
died. It asked her not to contact him again as he was being watched | :01:11. | :01:15.
by the police. The hearing was told that it was possible she had used a | :01:15. | :01:18.
computer supplied by Cornwall's council as part of a home schooling | :01:18. | :01:23.
programme. David George has been at the inquest in Camborne. | :01:23. | :01:28.
Before this inquest began, the coroner, Dr Emma Carlisle, one of | :01:28. | :01:32.
the press, public and all parties attending the inquest would hear | :01:32. | :01:38.
difficult and distressing evidence. Simone Grice was 15 years old and | :01:38. | :01:43.
lived in Redruth. Her life was described as troubled. Social | :01:43. | :01:47.
workers said she told him she was bullied at school and the estate | :01:47. | :01:51.
where she lived. Although her and said she believed the bullying | :01:51. | :01:58.
stopped a long before the death. Barbara Sykes said she had told her | :01:58. | :02:03.
she was having sex with two men she met on the internet. The court | :02:03. | :02:09.
heard of text messages between Simone and two men, referred to as | :02:09. | :02:15.
Jay and Robert X. In one of them, G tells her not to contact him at -- | :02:15. | :02:19.
had again as the police are watching him. She replies, even | :02:19. | :02:24.
when I am 16? Later texts to the other men say, I | :02:24. | :02:29.
am going to jump. Later again, I am at the bridge. | :02:29. | :02:33.
The court has also heard of a statement from a man called Joseph | :02:33. | :02:36.
William Swain, who said he was unable to come to court because of | :02:36. | :02:42.
illness. He said he had met Simone on several occasions. He had not | :02:42. | :02:46.
had a sexual relationship with her and had only contacted her because | :02:46. | :02:52.
of his concern for her personal welfare. | :02:52. | :02:58.
Her mother said Simone had met the men through the internet. Linda | :02:58. | :03:04.
Bryce said Simone had the computer as part of a home schooling | :03:04. | :03:10.
programme. At the time, Apple Mac computers were issued with access | :03:10. | :03:14.
to the internet, paid for by Cornwall County Council. A road | :03:14. | :03:19.
worker told the coroner that that evening he had seen Simone jumped | :03:19. | :03:27.
from the A30 bridge, a drop of around 150 feet. A post-mortem | :03:27. | :03:31.
examination found she had died from multiple injuries. The inquest will | :03:31. | :03:40.
The number of people having weight loss surgery on the NHS in the | :03:40. | :03:43.
South West has more than doubled in the last three years. The treatment | :03:43. | :03:46.
is seen as a last resort for those who are seriously obese and for | :03:47. | :03:49.
whom all other steps have been tried and failed. | :03:49. | :03:52.
Weight loss, or bariatric, surgery reduces the size of the stomach by | :03:52. | :03:54.
removing some tissue or fitting a gastric band. This divides the | :03:55. | :03:58.
stomach in two and reduces the amount of food needed to make the | :03:58. | :04:00.
patient feel full. The number of patients receiving the treatment in | :04:01. | :04:06.
the South West has gone up from 139 three years ago to 273 last year. | :04:06. | :04:11.
That is an increase of almost 100%. The operations are costing the NHS | :04:11. | :04:16.
more than 3 million a year. In a moment we will hear from a | :04:16. | :04:18.
consultant gastric surgeon, but first Spotlight's Emma Ruminski | :04:18. | :04:28.
:04:28. | :04:28. | ||
Debbie Woodward from Exeter was told she would be dead by the age | :04:29. | :04:33.
of 45 if she did not lose weight. She weighed 34 stone. | :04:33. | :04:39.
I had ulcerated legs, and I had to have that dressed every day, what | :04:39. | :04:45.
was awful. I had asthma, I had so via sleep apnoea, I kept stopping | :04:45. | :04:51.
breathing when I lay down. -- severe sleep apnoea. It came to the | :04:51. | :04:57.
point I had to do something. Two years ago, she had a gastric | :04:57. | :05:02.
banned for so -- - picked -- de Strip and fitted. What led to this | :05:02. | :05:08.
weight problem? I was addicted to food. Some people | :05:08. | :05:12.
are addicted to alcohol, and I could not stop eating, I tried but | :05:13. | :05:22.
could not stop. I was eating myself to death. Am really was. | :05:22. | :05:28.
Debbie is not alone. She is one of 400 in Devon who have had a NHS | :05:28. | :05:33.
which last surgery in the last three years. In a statement, the | :05:33. | :05:43.
:05:43. | :05:54. | ||
director of public ill for NHS Claire Morgan Hughes runs a fitness | :05:54. | :06:01.
camp. She bullies the key is to Catt -- tackle waking early. | :06:01. | :06:06.
It is such a huge operation to have. Ideally you want to look at your | :06:06. | :06:10.
health and fitness and lifestyle way before it gets to that stage. | :06:10. | :06:14.
Some people say it is too late - I don't believe it is a were too late | :06:15. | :06:17.
to make that first step and get moving. | :06:17. | :06:21.
For Debbie, the surgery changed everything. | :06:21. | :06:28.
I have my wife back, it has given me my life back. But as a miracle. | :06:28. | :06:31.
Earlier I spoke to Sally Norton, a consultant surgeon who carries out | :06:31. | :06:34.
gastric band and bypass surgery. I started by asking her why more and | :06:34. | :06:40.
more people are opting for weight loss surgery. | :06:40. | :06:44.
The issue obviously is that more people are becoming seriously | :06:44. | :06:50.
overweight. There is a much larger percentage of people who would be | :06:50. | :06:53.
eligible for weight-loss surgery. People are now starting to become | :06:53. | :06:57.
aware that severe obesity is associated with many other | :06:57. | :07:02.
illnesses. There is a higher risk of type 2 diabetes, a higher risk | :07:02. | :07:08.
of heart disease, cancer, and all of these things are worrying people | :07:08. | :07:14.
and making them consider what are perceived as more drastic options, | :07:14. | :07:18.
such as weight-loss surgery. When you see more people are | :07:18. | :07:21.
eligible for weight-loss surgery, what is the criteria used to make | :07:22. | :07:25.
that decision? It is a little bit of a postcode | :07:25. | :07:30.
lottery. There are national guidelines which were implemented | :07:30. | :07:33.
by the National Institute of Clinical excellence that suggested | :07:33. | :07:40.
people have to be a certain body mass index. In addition, they | :07:40. | :07:44.
should have obviously tried reasonable methods of weight loss | :07:44. | :07:48.
without surgery. That is fine, but when you look at different regions, | :07:48. | :07:55.
the funding for surgery it is actually adopting additional | :07:55. | :08:00.
criteria on top of that. For example, in the Bristol area, to be | :08:00. | :08:04.
eligible you need to be a certain weight plus have tied to diabetes | :08:04. | :08:09.
or other associated illnesses. A few miles down the road you may get | :08:09. | :08:13.
funding for surgery without those associated illnesses, so it is a | :08:13. | :08:16.
postcode lottery. On that issue of funding, there | :08:16. | :08:18.
will be some people who will perhaps not have a lot of sympathy | :08:19. | :08:23.
with those who have got themselves into a position where weight-loss | :08:23. | :08:26.
surgery is necessary, and we certainly don't believe it should | :08:26. | :08:30.
be paid for by the NHS. Should it be paid for by the NHS? | :08:30. | :08:34.
Yes, it should, absolutely. Not withstanding the reasons people | :08:34. | :08:38.
become his weight in the first place, it is cost effective for us | :08:38. | :08:43.
to provide surgery for these people, because it is very difficult to | :08:43. | :08:47.
lose that weight when you get to a certain weight through diet and | :08:47. | :08:51.
exercise alone, so most people will be completely unable to lose it. | :08:51. | :08:56.
The cost of treating associated illnesses will cripple the NHS over | :08:56. | :08:59.
the coming years. If we were to operate on these patient instead, | :08:59. | :09:06.
we could save over 50 million per year to the NHS, and 1 billion or | :09:06. | :09:09.
more to the economy at large as we help these people recover and get | :09:09. | :09:13.
back to work. It could be argued a chunk of that | :09:13. | :09:16.
money could be diverted into being more proactive, helping people | :09:16. | :09:20.
avoiding get into this situation in the first place. | :09:20. | :09:24.
Absolutely, I would not say we should not be hard to prevent | :09:24. | :09:29.
obesity, and there are areas which need a lot of funding and attention. | :09:29. | :09:32.
But we also have to treat the people who are currently overweight | :09:32. | :09:38.
and costing the NHS a lot of money. Thank you for joining us. | :09:38. | :09:41.
Let us know what you think of the increase in weight loss surgery. | :09:41. | :09:50.
Email [email protected] or use A couple from Devon who were held | :09:50. | :09:53.
hostage by Somali pirates for more than a year have welcomed a report | :09:53. | :09:57.
on piracy published today by the Foreign Affairs Select Committee. | :09:57. | :10:00.
Paul and Rachel Chandler, who live in Dartmouth, say lessons need to | :10:00. | :10:03.
be learnt and they are glad the report acknowledges piracy is still | :10:03. | :10:13.
:10:13. | :10:18. | ||
a major problem for the UK. Rachel Chandler and her husband, | :10:18. | :10:24.
Paul, were taken hostage by Somali pirates in October 2009. They were | :10:24. | :10:28.
released after 13 months, and after a medical check started their | :10:28. | :10:32.
journey home. Today, they have been looking through a Select Committee | :10:32. | :10:38.
report which says piracy in Somalia is still a major problem for the UK. | :10:38. | :10:41.
We welcome the report. They have called on the Government to review | :10:41. | :10:44.
its procedures, which I think would be a great help. They have also | :10:44. | :10:50.
called on them to use more technology and preventing pirate | :10:50. | :10:54.
groups from taking hostages. We also particularly welcome the fact | :10:54. | :11:00.
they have urged the Government to progress dealings with the Somali | :11:00. | :11:04.
community at grassroots level to sort out the problem within Somalia. | :11:04. | :11:09.
The there are still questions. Why, for instance, have there been no | :11:09. | :11:13.
prosecutions? It does not make sense to us that | :11:13. | :11:16.
these are armed men in boards out there with ladders, rocket | :11:17. | :11:22.
launchers, all the pirate paraphernalia. We ought to be able | :11:22. | :11:26.
to catch them. The today's publication brings back memories of | :11:26. | :11:30.
their time as hostages. It is something we have learnt to | :11:30. | :11:38.
live with. It is part of our lives and always will be. But we are | :11:38. | :11:44.
perfectly normal. We don't have nightmares about it. It is an | :11:44. | :11:49.
extraordinary thing that happened to us, but we have come through it. | :11:49. | :11:54.
We are OK. The report urges the Government to | :11:54. | :11:59.
review its kidnap response procedures after a previous | :11:59. | :12:09.

criticism from the Coppell. The South Western Ambulance Service | :12:11. | :12:13.
is investigating the death of a Dorset man following claims from | :12:13. | :12:17.
his family that he was not taken to hospital in time. 44-year-old Neil | :12:17. | :12:19.
Johnston from Wyke Regis died just hours after being admitted to | :12:19. | :12:22.
Dorset County Hospital on New Year's Eve. His family say he had | :12:22. | :12:25.
developed severe sickness at home, but an ambulance crew refused to | :12:25. | :12:28.
take him in case he was infectious. The Ambulance Trust says a full | :12:28. | :12:31.
investigation is underway and its thoughts are with the Johnston | :12:31. | :12:34.
family. The husband of Jennie Leeman has | :12:34. | :12:37.
denied shooting her dead in North Devon. At Exeter Crown Court, David | :12:37. | :12:40.
Leeman was accused of murdering his 44-year-old wife at their farm at | :12:40. | :12:42.
Parracombe, near Barnstaple last September. He has been remanded in | :12:42. | :12:46.
custody until his trial in July. Millions of pounds has been awarded | :12:46. | :12:49.
in government grants for travellers' sites across the south | :12:49. | :12:52.
west. The money from the Homes and Communities Agency will help local | :12:52. | :12:54.
authorities to prevent unauthorised encampments and develop official | :12:54. | :13:04.
:13:04. | :13:05. | ||
sites with proper facilities. Later in the programme, some very | :13:05. | :13:07.
early signs of spring across the region. | :13:07. | :13:10.
Plus new hope for the lifesavers who have been thrown a financial | :13:10. | :13:12.
lifeline. And trying times at Plymouth Albion | :13:12. | :13:15.
- but tonight there are signs the rugby club's immediate future is | :13:15. | :13:24.
A row has blown up in Devon which sets two of the county's biggest | :13:24. | :13:28.
public sector organisations against each other. A hospital is taking on | :13:28. | :13:31.
a council to try to defend free parking for some staff, and now one | :13:31. | :13:35.
of the biggest unions has weighed in, too. The argument surrounds | :13:35. | :13:38.
Torbay Hospital and parking along Newton Road, the closest area where | :13:38. | :13:42.
cars can be left free of charge. From there our correspondent, Simon | :13:42. | :13:52.
:13:52. | :13:56. | ||
From this quiet suburban street stems and noisy dispute. Parking is | :13:56. | :14:01.
currently free and much used by staff and visitors at Torbay | :14:01. | :14:05.
Hospital. Now the council want to start charging hundreds of Pounds | :14:05. | :14:12.
for permit. These women come here because they find packet -- packing | :14:12. | :14:15.
up to hospital for one of's appointment. | :14:15. | :14:23.
I think it is ridiculous. Sometimes people have not got money for | :14:23. | :14:26.
parking, and if they have appointments they may miss them. | :14:27. | :14:33.
They should not do it at all. It is awkward for people with no money. | :14:33. | :14:38.
Torbay Hospital has formally objected to the council's plants, | :14:38. | :14:41.
setting one large public organisation against another. Many | :14:42. | :14:45.
staff have also complained. strength of feeling is huge at the | :14:45. | :14:48.
moment, because the trust management want to increase the | :14:48. | :14:53.
cost of hospital parking permits by a minimum of 50 %. For some people | :14:53. | :15:00.
nearly as much as 100%. The council's proposal is to charge | :15:00. | :15:04.
up to 250 per year to park. It will be a permanent system, but | :15:04. | :15:08.
each -- permit system, but at Wal- Mart guarantees bases. | :15:08. | :15:12.
A we have had massive cuts, and it is a way of getting money back for | :15:12. | :15:17.
frontline services. As you are -- as you will appreciate, we have | :15:17. | :15:23.
concessions, subsidies, all these things, these are things to keep | :15:23. | :15:27.
the traffic moving. We have to have some way of generating funds to | :15:27. | :15:31.
meet those demands. If the parking permit promotion of | :15:31. | :15:36.
-- pupils will balls ahead, it will be introduced by summer. -- if the | :15:36. | :15:40.
proposal goes ahead. But increasing parking charges is a standard way | :15:40. | :15:45.
for councils to raise extra revenue, but that sounds uncomfortable with | :15:45. | :15:49.
Government policy, which is to end what has been described as the war | :15:49. | :15:59.
on the motorist and make life Villagers in South Devon who formed | :15:59. | :16:02.
a charity to save their lifeboat have been awarded thousands of | :16:02. | :16:04.
pounds to help the service continue. Cutbacks had threatened Hope Cove | :16:04. | :16:07.
lifeboat, but last year local people stepped in to run it | :16:07. | :16:10.
themselves. They are now looking to raise 80,000 to replace their | :16:10. | :16:17.
existing boat. Scott Bingham The crew of the Hope Cove wife | :16:17. | :16:22.
bought her on a mission. There is no emergency today. For once, | :16:22. | :16:25.
someone has come to the aid of this life-saving service. The | :16:25. | :16:29.
independently funded a lifeboat had landed a substantial community a | :16:29. | :16:39.
:16:39. | :16:40. | ||
ward. A key thing for us is that the | :16:40. | :16:45.
community voted for it. It is a significant amount of money to help | :16:45. | :16:50.
us by a new boat. These guys have a massive piece of work ahead of them | :16:51. | :16:53.
where they are looking to raise a substantial limit of money, and | :16:53. | :16:56.
this will be a start towards raising funds for the new lifeboat | :16:56. | :17:00.
and the running costs for the next few years, providing peace of mind | :17:00. | :17:06.
to people using the sea and beaches around the area. | :17:06. | :17:11.
It will be a big challenge to raise the money needed, but the charity | :17:11. | :17:15.
has every right to be confident. They won a fight for survival back | :17:15. | :17:20.
in 2010. There are always reservations, but | :17:20. | :17:25.
some hope we will make it. -- somehow that we will make it. | :17:25. | :17:29.
The current vessel will continue to save lives along this stretch of | :17:29. | :17:33.
coast for now. The hope is its replacement will be up and running | :17:33. | :17:36.
in around 18 months. Just over 12 months ago, the people | :17:37. | :17:40.
of Hope Cove nearly lost their lead boat, but the community were | :17:40. | :17:46.
determined that was not going to happen, and on a day like today you | :17:46. | :17:51.
can feed -- see why they feel it Plymouth Albion rugby club's future | :17:51. | :17:57.
is a little more certain this evening. The club, which held an | :17:57. | :18:00.
emergency meeting to raise 200,000 to keep going until the end of the | :18:00. | :18:03.
season, says it has received pledges for more than half of what | :18:03. | :18:08.
is needed. Our sports reporter, Brent Pilnick, has more. | :18:08. | :18:12.
Plymouth Albion's fans will be hoping the club can get back to | :18:12. | :18:17.
scoring tries, and there are desperate -- they are in desperate | :18:17. | :18:21.
need for them as they set towards the bottom of the championship. At | :18:21. | :18:25.
this meeting last night, shareholders pledged half of the | :18:25. | :18:29.
200,000 needed to keep the club going as the board try and make | :18:29. | :18:36.
sure this does not happen again. We are revisiting our business | :18:36. | :18:41.
model. We have to be careful. We have been make sure that moving | :18:41. | :18:45.
forward we have the right model and there are things we must do. We | :18:45. | :18:51.
will get on with it and do it. We can keep going back to this sort of | :18:51. | :18:56.
situation. We have got to get under a more sustainable financial | :18:56. | :19:00.
footing. Why is it so difficult to run a | :19:00. | :19:04.
sports team as a successful business? | :19:04. | :19:07.
It is not unique, there have been others who have gone into | :19:07. | :19:10.
administration in the same league Plymouth are in. Clearly there is | :19:10. | :19:14.
not a lot of money around and there is a problem in Plymouth in getting | :19:14. | :19:19.
sponsorship. We do not have the main sponsors, such as Northern | :19:19. | :19:25.
Rock at the Newcastle rugby team has. They do not exist here. We | :19:25. | :19:28.
have a requirement -- we have an economy still to a large extent | :19:28. | :19:32.
dominated by the military and they will not put themselves into sport. | :19:32. | :19:35.
With half of the season to goal, Plymouth Albion seemed to be on | :19:35. | :19:38.
firmer ground than they were yesterday. | :19:38. | :19:41.
Brent joins us now. Plymouth Albion aren't alone when it comes to our | :19:41. | :19:46.
sides struggling financially, are they? | :19:46. | :19:51.
Yes, last year Plymouth Argyle Ford -- Ford for most of the year to try | :19:52. | :19:56.
and stave off administration. They were lucky in the end of wealthy | :19:56. | :19:59.
backer in the form of James Brent took over the club. That affected a | :19:59. | :20:02.
lot of people who lost out financially with businesses and | :20:02. | :20:08.
wages. Truro City face a winding-up petition in the High Court a week | :20:08. | :20:13.
on Monday. They all around 100,000 in unpaid taxes to Revenue and | :20:13. | :20:20.
Customs. -- they all around. The rugby club, who rose up to the | :20:20. | :20:25.
national leagues a few years ago, folded as they faced administration. | :20:25. | :20:30.
Last season, another rugby club were relegated to national two | :20:30. | :20:34.
south. That was following a points deduction they got for going into | :20:34. | :20:42.
administration, as well. This time last year, the freezing | :20:42. | :20:44.
conditions caused some farmers a headache, with crops frozen into | :20:44. | :20:48.
the ground leading to a shortage of seasonal veg. Now, thanks to an | :20:48. | :20:50.
extremely mild winter so far, the opposite has happened, with many | :20:50. | :20:54.
vegetables growing more quickly than they normally would. In some | :20:54. | :20:56.
cases they are being harvested weeks earlier than usual, as John | :20:57. | :20:59.
Danks reports. Purple sprouting broccoli growing | :20:59. | :21:05.
at river front farm in South Devon. It is in abundance and weeks | :21:05. | :21:10.
earlier than normal. The man who runs the farm said it is the | :21:10. | :21:13.
mildest start to a winter he has seen in 25 years. | :21:13. | :21:17.
Some early varieties do start in January or December, but this one | :21:17. | :21:22.
we would not expect to pick until March. It has come up so fast we | :21:22. | :21:26.
have not been able to keep up with it and it has gone to flower. It is | :21:26. | :21:29.
running six weeks ahead of simple, really. | :21:29. | :21:33.
The picking teams are trying to keep on top of the leaks. These, | :21:33. | :21:39.
too, are ready sooner than expected. They have to be harvested now. If | :21:39. | :21:43.
they grow any bigger they will not fit in the boxes. Plants seem | :21:43. | :21:47.
equally confused. In Cornwall, there are already signs of spring. | :21:47. | :21:54.
A lot of flowers are coming out earlier. This one here, that has | :21:54. | :22:01.
been flowering since the beginning of November. For the first time, | :22:02. | :22:09.
the magnolia, which flowered on New Year's Day, which is the earliest | :22:09. | :22:13.
it has ever flowered. Plants have continued to grow. The | :22:13. | :22:18.
flowers on this hydrangea remained since they ballooned last year and | :22:18. | :22:21.
new flowers are coming through. Spotlight viewers have sent us | :22:21. | :22:29.
their pictures of unseasonal floral displays. Yes, that is a strawberry. | :22:29. | :22:33.
This as Elia and Helen Tavistock's Garden put on an early show of | :22:33. | :22:37.
colour. -- as really a. Before Christmas the flowers | :22:37. | :22:42.
started to appear one by one. I watched it daily and then it came | :22:42. | :22:49.
out in profusion. It has been amazing, I still have | :22:49. | :22:52.
geraniums planted in the summer last year in the garden in flower. | :22:52. | :22:57.
What worries me is we will get some sharp frost and all the boards will | :22:57. | :23:01.
fall off. I cannot see us getting any | :23:01. | :23:04.
penetrating frost. There may be a penetrating frost. There may be a | :23:04. | :23:07.
brief frost tonight, but nothing to worry about. It remains unusually | :23:07. | :23:12.
mild, and probably the reason for so much spring growth is that we | :23:12. | :23:16.
have hardly had any frost at all. We have had the wind and rain, and | :23:16. | :23:20.
it was another very windy morning in the South West. These are the | :23:21. | :23:27.
strength of the dusts we saw this morning. Not quite as strong as the | :23:27. | :23:32.
84 mph we had on Tuesday morning. Thankfully it has been a little | :23:32. | :23:35.
quieter. Whilst these strong winds are not good for some of us, for | :23:35. | :23:41.
some of us it has been good news. This was earlier today where our | :23:41. | :23:45.
Cameron -- cameraman caught people enjoying at the south. Some of | :23:45. | :23:51.
these windsurfers were braving some enormous waves. Also the strength | :23:51. | :23:56.
of the wind, the gusts of wind this morning have been over 50 mph at | :23:56. | :24:03.
times. Enjoying some spectacular conditions. Also the sunshine, and | :24:03. | :24:07.
we have had some sunshine coming out, as well. Let's look at the | :24:07. | :24:12.
detail for the next 24 hours. There is a Vale of cloud covering the | :24:12. | :24:16.
South West. A lot of that is high level that will not stop the | :24:16. | :24:20.
temperatures falling into single figures. The area of high pressure | :24:20. | :24:26.
to the south will get closer, and those cold north-west winds will | :24:26. | :24:32.
slowly drop overnight tonight. Much quieter tonight for all of us. | :24:32. | :24:37.
Tomorrow, are warm weather front will come in, bringing more cloud | :24:37. | :24:42.
with a potential for light rain. Into the weekend, we have that high | :24:42. | :24:46.
pressure a little closer, so what will be more settled. Not | :24:46. | :24:51.
necessarily dry or fine. There is the cloud structure in more detail. | :24:51. | :24:55.
There is a small chance of one or two light showers, but the | :24:55. | :25:00.
overnight forecast is a dry and cold one. Temperatures already | :25:00. | :25:04.
close to single figures and continuing to drop to as low as | :25:04. | :25:08.
three or four Celsius, particularly across eastern parts of Devon into | :25:08. | :25:12.
Somerset and Dorset. The risk, perhaps, briefly of a touch of | :25:12. | :25:19.
frost. A cold start tomorrow, which means once the cloud comes over the | :25:19. | :25:22.
temperature also -- temperatures will struggle to get high you have, | :25:22. | :25:30.
a late maximum of ten Celsius. Temperatures up to eight or nine | :25:30. | :25:36.
Celsius by the end of the afternoon. For the Isles of Scilly, the milder | :25:36. | :25:44.
oxygen, cloudy -- the milder air, cloudy with some drizzle. At the | :25:44. | :25:54.
:25:54. | :26:03. | ||
To model it will still be very choppy, 5-six feet on the north | :26:03. | :26:13.
coast, and the coastal waters In the outlook, including the | :26:13. | :26:21.
weekend, on Saturday after some overnight patchy rain, a for a time | :26:21. | :26:25.
it will brighten up. Sunday is rather more cloudy with a risk of | :26:25. | :26:30.
further outbreaks of rain or drizzle. Emily rain clearing and | :26:30. | :26:33.
perhaps brighter in the afternoon. All will while it remains | :26:33. | :26:43.
:26:43. | :26:54. | ||
relatively mild, we should be frost We have had some e-mails on surgery. | :26:54. | :26:59.
One viewer says, Barry hat-trick surgery is not an easier choice. It | :26:59. | :27:03.
is cheaper to do that than let people rely on services once they | :27:03. | :27:07.
are obese. Another viewer says, I had a | :27:07. | :27:13.
gastric band finished -- and had a gastric band finished two years ago, | :27:13. | :27:17.
and I have never been happier. I would recommend it to anyone. | :27:17. | :27:22.
Another viewer is angry as her son has been declined an operation to | :27:23. | :27:28.
help them walked properly, as she suffers from cerebral palsy. | :27:28. | :27:33. |
