0:02:09 > 0:02:12and I'm excited to see what happens.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Well, let's get started.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18- Hi, there!- Hello! Sarah, come on in.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20- Nice to see you. - Really good to see you.

0:02:23 > 0:02:29This modernised Georgian town house is a fitting abode for pop royalty -

0:02:29 > 0:02:30or actual royalty.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36Decked out in luxurious furnishings,

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Sarah is here to sort the wheat from the chaff.

0:02:39 > 0:02:43But at first glance, there doesn't seem to be much chaff.

0:02:45 > 0:02:48What a beautiful Georgian house. I wasn't quite sure what to expect,

0:02:48 > 0:02:51maybe something a bit more rock and roll, but it's very traditional.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53- Have you been here long?- 16 years,

0:02:53 > 0:02:56but my mother first brought me here when I was three years old

0:02:56 > 0:02:58and it was a tearoom called The Willow Tea Room,

0:02:58 > 0:03:01so I've known this place all my life.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05When it was for sale, my husband and I came to view it, just to be nosy,

0:03:05 > 0:03:09and we bought it and we've never regretted it, it's lovely.

0:03:09 > 0:03:11I'd love to have a little look around if that's all right?

0:03:11 > 0:03:13- Yeah, come with me. - Brilliant, thank you.

0:03:13 > 0:03:17So, this is one of the lounges in the house.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20Right. Is this your design, your taste? Is this your feeling?

0:03:20 > 0:03:24This is my husband's taste and I've grown into it.

0:03:24 > 0:03:28I'm very minimalist, very modern and very quirky.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30Well, I think that's really generous.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33You can always slip in a bit of orange Perspex when he's not

0:03:33 > 0:03:36- looking, see how he takes it.- Yeah, but he'd take it out, he'd bin it.

0:03:36 > 0:03:41I tell you, I was not expecting this in the house of an '80s pop star.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45Although I'm sure the shoulder pads and bum bags are around here somewhere.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47Let's get searching.

0:03:47 > 0:03:49Follow me.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52Sarah's on the hunt for two items to take from Toyah which

0:03:52 > 0:03:57have the potential to be transformed and sold on for a profit.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59This might interest you up here.

0:03:59 > 0:04:03And Toyah's got a few items in mind for Sarah,

0:04:03 > 0:04:05hidden in the best rummage room in any house.

0:04:05 > 0:04:09If this is where you put your junk, great junk.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11Although it doesn't much look like my attic.

0:04:11 > 0:04:15I mean, where are all the Christmas decorations and rusty rollerblades?

0:04:17 > 0:04:19That's more like it.

0:04:19 > 0:04:20I see these are all stacked up.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23They're not the same era as the other stuff in the house, are they?

0:04:23 > 0:04:26These are about 1930. They belonged to my Aunt Sheila,

0:04:26 > 0:04:30and there was originally a dresser with these and we've already given

0:04:30 > 0:04:33the dresser away, so we're not using these chairs.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36Well, that's great cos they've got a strong look.

0:04:36 > 0:04:39I don't think it's particularly in fashion at the moment.

0:04:39 > 0:04:42It falls between retro and antique, and there's a tricky area there, but

0:04:42 > 0:04:46they look like they are really well made and they're in good condition.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48I mean, they've had a great life with me.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50They've been loved, but they're not right for the house.

0:04:50 > 0:04:52Brilliant. Well, that would be amazing.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55If you're not using them, I will definitely try and do something with them.

0:04:55 > 0:04:58Thanks, Toyah. Those will do nicely.

0:04:59 > 0:05:02So, four chairs, out of fashion,

0:05:02 > 0:05:04up in the attic and definitely up for grabs,

0:05:04 > 0:05:07so I'm really pleased that Toyah has had enough of these.

0:05:07 > 0:05:11Nice find, Sarah, but while you look for your second item,

0:05:11 > 0:05:14there's another singer ready for a rummage.

0:05:14 > 0:05:16Jay is on his way.

0:05:21 > 0:05:25For his own celebrity search, Jay is in the busy south-west of London.

0:05:27 > 0:05:31And waiting for him is pop music's own wonder woman, Sinitta.

0:05:33 > 0:05:35Yay! You like that?

0:05:35 > 0:05:39Sinitta was Simon Cowell's first recording artist,

0:05:39 > 0:05:43rising to fame with songs So Macho and Toy Boy.

0:05:43 > 0:05:45- Go and get it.- Sinitta

0:05:45 > 0:05:49has acted as a mentor on The X Factor

0:05:49 > 0:05:52and has appeared in a number of West End shows.

0:05:54 > 0:05:57She lives with her children and dog Scarlet,

0:05:57 > 0:06:00and I can't wait to see what she has to offer.

0:06:00 > 0:06:04There's a couple of things that I really wouldn't mind him taking,

0:06:04 > 0:06:06that actually I'd even like him to take,

0:06:06 > 0:06:09and then there's a few things that I don't even want him to look at,

0:06:09 > 0:06:12even think about taking!

0:06:12 > 0:06:13Good luck, Jay.

0:06:13 > 0:06:17And don't be pestering Sinitta for an autograph, you're here to work, remember?

0:06:17 > 0:06:20But if you could get one for me?

0:06:20 > 0:06:21- Hi, Jay!- Hello!

0:06:21 > 0:06:24- How are you?- I'm very good.

0:06:24 > 0:06:25- Come in.- Thank you.

0:06:26 > 0:06:27- This is going to be fun.- Yeah.

0:06:31 > 0:06:35This ultramodern apartment is something to behold.

0:06:35 > 0:06:39Huge in its layout but minimalist in its design.

0:06:39 > 0:06:44It even includes its own fully operational studio and recording space.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46There's lots to get round,

0:06:46 > 0:06:49but finding things to take away might be a challenge.

0:06:52 > 0:06:53This is the living room.

0:06:54 > 0:06:58- Living room.- Yeah. - This is more like a house.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00- This is a house in a room. - It's a house in a room.

0:07:00 > 0:07:03- Yeah.- So, how long have you been here then?

0:07:03 > 0:07:04Just about a year and a half.

0:07:04 > 0:07:08But it took a long time to kind of build and design.

0:07:08 > 0:07:10That's actually going to be a living wall,

0:07:10 > 0:07:13you know when you put grass and plants on the wall?

0:07:13 > 0:07:17It was going to be a tree and I was advised that it probably wasn't a good idea to have trees...

0:07:17 > 0:07:19- In the house. - Because people think I'm crazy.

0:07:19 > 0:07:22It's like, I'm going to have a waterfall and two trees

0:07:22 > 0:07:24- and they thought, "What?"- So, I can't take anything from here.

0:07:24 > 0:07:28- No.- So, I'm a little bit sad about that, but I totally understand.

0:07:28 > 0:07:31What would you have taken if I had let you take something?

0:07:31 > 0:07:34- Definitely those. - Oh, my gosh, let's go.- OK.

0:07:34 > 0:07:37Behave yourself, Jay, you're here for junk, remember?

0:07:37 > 0:07:39Keep an eye on him, Scarlet, would you?

0:07:41 > 0:07:42Good dog.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45- The master bedroom. - Oh, this is nice, isn't it?

0:07:45 > 0:07:47- Thank you.- I noticed there's a wardrobe in there.

0:07:47 > 0:07:51- This is the closet, yes. - This is it.- Well, this is my closet.

0:07:51 > 0:07:53Have you worn all of these shoes at some point?

0:07:53 > 0:07:55At some point, at least once.

0:07:55 > 0:07:58- Have you got any more shoes anywhere else?- Yes.- Oh, you have?

0:07:58 > 0:08:01I was hoping you wouldn't ask me, because I'm not going to lie.

0:08:01 > 0:08:03I can't take anything from here, can I?

0:08:03 > 0:08:05Oh, no, no. I don't even know how we got in here.

0:08:05 > 0:08:07- Let's get out of here.- OK.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10Pity. You'd look great in those, Jay.

0:08:12 > 0:08:14Sinitta's home is lovely,

0:08:14 > 0:08:17but the one thing she does not have is clutter.

0:08:17 > 0:08:22Jay is really up against it to find two things to take away.

0:08:22 > 0:08:25But luckily Sinitta's thought of something that's back in the bedroom.

0:08:27 > 0:08:30This fan, because I have now got a fan on the ceiling in here,

0:08:30 > 0:08:33I don't need a fan, so that could be something.

0:08:33 > 0:08:36OK. So, how long have you had this?

0:08:36 > 0:08:39I've had it for about four or five years.

0:08:39 > 0:08:43It was my boyfriend's before and he gave it to me one crazy, hot summer

0:08:43 > 0:08:48and we carted it from room to room with us because it was just so hot.

0:08:48 > 0:08:50Kind of unplugged and making its way to the door.

0:08:50 > 0:08:54OK, right! Well, that's one item.

0:08:54 > 0:08:56Yeah, I'll have that one. Thank you.

0:08:56 > 0:08:58- Brilliant. Shoes are safe. - Yeah, your shoes are safe.

0:08:58 > 0:09:00Safe for now.

0:09:02 > 0:09:06Well, we do love a challenge and this is definitely one of those.

0:09:06 > 0:09:09Going to have to get creative on this one.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12You'll have to be very creative to make money out of that.

0:09:12 > 0:09:15Good luck with the rest of the hunt.

0:09:18 > 0:09:20Back in Worcestershire,

0:09:20 > 0:09:25Sarah is still working hard to find a second item from Toyah Wilcox.

0:09:25 > 0:09:27I mean, look at that on you.

0:09:27 > 0:09:29Well, kind of hard.

0:09:29 > 0:09:33She already has the set of four chairs squirreled away,

0:09:33 > 0:09:38but before they get back to the search, Toyah's got something to show Sarah.

0:09:38 > 0:09:41This is my first outfit on Top Of The Pops.

0:09:41 > 0:09:44- Wow.- So it's a tunic, basic tunic.

0:09:44 > 0:09:48And that's probably one of my most famous outfits.

0:09:48 > 0:09:51It's like being in a museum of pop in here, isn't it?

0:09:51 > 0:09:53All hand-painted.

0:09:53 > 0:09:54What year were you wearing that?

0:09:54 > 0:09:57- This is 1981. - And look at those shoulders.

0:09:59 > 0:10:03Big shoulders, big hair, what were we thinking?

0:10:05 > 0:10:08So, come and have a look up here, Sarah.

0:10:08 > 0:10:11I knew we'd get to the '80s stuff eventually.

0:10:11 > 0:10:12Could you use a headdress?

0:10:12 > 0:10:15And Toyah has kept it all.

0:10:15 > 0:10:17Oh, wow.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20This was used on a video shoot.

0:10:20 > 0:10:21I definitely know they're yours, look.

0:10:21 > 0:10:25But enough of the trip down memory lane.

0:10:25 > 0:10:28Try looking for something you can take away and transform.

0:10:28 > 0:10:32So, Sarah, just put your hand in there and pull stuff out.

0:10:34 > 0:10:35The parasols.

0:10:35 > 0:10:40They're about 35 years old and they are typical things

0:10:40 > 0:10:43that you used to get in furniture shops back then,

0:10:43 > 0:10:47that people just hung in corners of the room.

0:10:47 > 0:10:51But if you could do anything with them, you're very welcome to have them.

0:10:51 > 0:10:55I've got a few ideas of what we might be able to do with them, so if you're sure...

0:10:55 > 0:10:58Absolutely, there's absolutely no way I'd ever use these again.

0:10:58 > 0:11:00That's brilliant.

0:11:00 > 0:11:01Lovely. Thank you.

0:11:03 > 0:11:04Thanks, Toyah.

0:11:04 > 0:11:06They will do nicely.

0:11:07 > 0:11:09The parasols are a real blast from the past,

0:11:09 > 0:11:11because everybody had one of these.

0:11:11 > 0:11:13I mean, there's loads of material to use here,

0:11:13 > 0:11:16but they're going to be quite tricky to re-purpose.

0:11:16 > 0:11:18I'm definitely going to give it a go.

0:11:20 > 0:11:23- Thank you.- It's a pleasure. - Fantastic day.

0:11:23 > 0:11:27I can't believe how lovely your house is and the things that I'm taking away,

0:11:27 > 0:11:30- I'm going to work so hard to do my best with them.- I'm so excited.

0:11:30 > 0:11:33I know you're going to come up with something utterly unique,

0:11:33 > 0:11:35- so thank you.- Pleasure. It was a great day.

0:11:35 > 0:11:38Utterly unique is just about right.

0:11:38 > 0:11:43I'm very intrigued to see what Sarah's going to do with what she's taking away from my home.

0:11:43 > 0:11:47I just find it wildly exciting that she's going to be unpredictable with things.

0:11:47 > 0:11:49Just you wait, Toyah.

0:11:50 > 0:11:54Sarah is taking away the set of four chairs and the parasols.

0:11:54 > 0:11:57She's hoping to make big money from that lot,

0:11:57 > 0:12:00so she'd better have some big ideas.

0:12:02 > 0:12:04Back in London...

0:12:04 > 0:12:06Is that from a video or something?

0:12:06 > 0:12:10..Jay is currently admiring Sinitta's holiday snaps.

0:12:10 > 0:12:13Keep your mind on the job, big man.

0:12:14 > 0:12:17He already has her rickety fan to renovate.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19Just one more item to go.

0:12:19 > 0:12:22- You hold the baby.- OK. - I'll be right back.

0:12:22 > 0:12:26And it looks as if Sinitta's thought of something.

0:12:26 > 0:12:28- Ta-da!- There we go. - See this?- Yeah.

0:12:28 > 0:12:30So, this beautiful thing...

0:12:30 > 0:12:32Oh, that looks heavy. Hold on, I'll take that.

0:12:32 > 0:12:37- You take Scarlet.- This beautiful thing is a dish holder.- Right?

0:12:37 > 0:12:40You put it inside drawers or something and it holds all your plates.

0:12:40 > 0:12:43But my new cutlery and glass are too wide for it.

0:12:43 > 0:12:45- It's a solid bit of timber. - Yeah. It's lovely, right?

0:12:45 > 0:12:48Yeah. This is perfect. So, how long have you had this then?

0:12:48 > 0:12:51Oh, gosh, for years, it's gone from home to home.

0:12:51 > 0:12:54- Finally it doesn't fit.- I think I can do something with this.

0:12:54 > 0:12:56As a matter of fact, I know I can do something with this.

0:12:56 > 0:12:59- And I can definitely have it? - You can definitely have it.

0:12:59 > 0:13:01Can he have it? He can have it? She said you can have it.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03Oh, thank you, both. Thank you.

0:13:03 > 0:13:07Thanks, Scarlet. But what's the plan for that then, Jay?

0:13:08 > 0:13:10It's a bit of a challenge.

0:13:10 > 0:13:12Just had a little bit of an idea of what I could do with that.

0:13:14 > 0:13:15I can hardly wait.

0:13:17 > 0:13:19Sinitta, thank you for having me in your wonderful home.

0:13:19 > 0:13:21- Pleasure.- And for giving me those two items.

0:13:21 > 0:13:24I'm going to hopefully get my creative juices working.

0:13:24 > 0:13:26Amazing. I can't wait to see what you're going to do.

0:13:26 > 0:13:28- Well, I'm going to bring it back and show you anyway.- Amazing.

0:13:28 > 0:13:31- I can't wait. Good luck with it. - OK, thank you.

0:13:32 > 0:13:34Can't believe Jay took the fan,

0:13:34 > 0:13:37but I'm really excited he took the plate holder,

0:13:37 > 0:13:41because I think he can do something amazing with it.

0:13:43 > 0:13:47Jay is taking away the wobbly fan and the dish rack.

0:13:47 > 0:13:51It's been good fun rummaging around celebrities' houses,

0:13:51 > 0:13:53but now it's time to get to work.

0:13:56 > 0:14:01Our celebrities have given Sarah and Jay plenty to be getting on with,

0:14:01 > 0:14:03and in West Sussex...

0:14:05 > 0:14:08..Sarah is back home and about to start work

0:14:08 > 0:14:12on Toyah's oriental-inspired parasols.

0:14:12 > 0:14:16Now, Sarah, we don't want any bad luck with this project,

0:14:16 > 0:14:20so whatever you do, don't open one of them indoors.

0:14:20 > 0:14:24Oh, why does no-one ever listen to me?

0:14:24 > 0:14:25Aren't they lovely parasols?

0:14:25 > 0:14:28And don't worry, they're fine to go up inside, they're not umbrellas.

0:14:28 > 0:14:30I've got six of these and they are decorative,

0:14:30 > 0:14:34but I want to make them useful as well. I want to make them into lampshades.

0:14:34 > 0:14:36They're quite tricky to work with though,

0:14:36 > 0:14:38because they've got a really intricate structure,

0:14:38 > 0:14:40but what I'd like to do is take a couple apart,

0:14:40 > 0:14:43have a really good look at them and then make some proper plans.

0:14:43 > 0:14:46Lampshades, that sounds all right.

0:14:46 > 0:14:47That one's OK.

0:14:47 > 0:14:52But if you just stuck them in six massive pina coladas, I'd buy them.

0:14:53 > 0:14:57So, flatten this out a bit, make the structure of a lampshade.

0:14:57 > 0:15:03Sarah begins to unpick the intricate bamboo structure holding the parasol shape.

0:15:03 > 0:15:05Well, that's that done. Just got to cut these bits off.

0:15:06 > 0:15:09Next, off comes the paper.

0:15:09 > 0:15:11So eventually what we are left with is...

0:15:13 > 0:15:15..that.

0:15:15 > 0:15:16It looks...

0:15:17 > 0:15:19Don't really want to say.

0:15:19 > 0:15:21Yeah, I'm thinking what you're thinking.

0:15:21 > 0:15:23I'm in big trouble.

0:15:23 > 0:15:25Yeah, well, I didn't want to say.

0:15:25 > 0:15:28I'm going to get the wire out.

0:15:28 > 0:15:29But all is not lost.

0:15:32 > 0:15:36Sarah starts to join the inner spokes back together with steel

0:15:36 > 0:15:39wire, which will hopefully give the parasol back its shape.

0:15:39 > 0:15:42If you see one going in my eye, will you tell me?

0:15:42 > 0:15:46These types of parasols, or oil-papered umbrellas,

0:15:46 > 0:15:50originate from China where they are a traditional wedding present.

0:15:50 > 0:15:54They are said to ward off evil spirits, with the round shapes

0:15:54 > 0:15:56symbolising a happy and complete life.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00But Sarah is far from happy.

0:16:00 > 0:16:02They're just not coming together.

0:16:02 > 0:16:04They really don't work as lampshades.

0:16:04 > 0:16:06I'm really trying to force them into something.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09But just putting it down here, it's a real moment of inspiration,

0:16:09 > 0:16:12because these would make fantastic sunburst mirrors.

0:16:12 > 0:16:15That's it, I'm going to U-turn, I'm going to stop making lighting

0:16:15 > 0:16:19and I'm going to make fantastic sunburst mirrors.

0:16:19 > 0:16:20What a relief.

0:16:20 > 0:16:23Sunburst mirrors. Now that is a U-turn.

0:16:23 > 0:16:25This is a much better idea.

0:16:25 > 0:16:31Sunburst is a design pattern consisting of rays or beams

0:16:31 > 0:16:33radiating out from a central disc.

0:16:34 > 0:16:36I love a bit of sunburst.

0:16:36 > 0:16:38And the last time they were fashionable was about after the war,

0:16:38 > 0:16:42and that lovely uplifting, beautiful shape was on all the walls,

0:16:42 > 0:16:45so there's nothing new going on here.

0:16:45 > 0:16:48Sarah has ordered her new mirrors

0:16:48 > 0:16:53and other materials and spent £27.46.

0:16:53 > 0:16:55I hope she is right about this U-turn,

0:16:55 > 0:16:58because it might just lead to a dead-end.

0:17:01 > 0:17:03Over in East Sussex,

0:17:03 > 0:17:07things are good to go for another Toyah transformation.

0:17:07 > 0:17:11Sarah has sent the four dated brown chairs to our very own

0:17:11 > 0:17:15woodworking wonder hunk Norman Wilkinson.

0:17:17 > 0:17:21What Norman doesn't know about wood ain't worth knowing.

0:17:21 > 0:17:26He uses his 25 years of experience to create handmade,

0:17:26 > 0:17:30one-of-a-kind furniture that will last a lifetime.

0:17:30 > 0:17:34Every morning before I go to work, I've done it for the last however long,

0:17:34 > 0:17:37paper and a coffee and I can get going.

0:17:37 > 0:17:39That's what I do. I'm self-taught, never been to college,

0:17:39 > 0:17:42never took woodwork at school. It's worked for me

0:17:42 > 0:17:45for all these years, so, yeah, really happy with it.

0:17:45 > 0:17:47Norman certainly knows his onions,

0:17:47 > 0:17:50but hasn't yet started on these old things.

0:17:52 > 0:17:54Norman, hi, it's Sarah.

0:17:54 > 0:17:57The boss is on the dog and bone to find out what new ideas

0:17:57 > 0:18:00Norman can bring to these old chairs.

0:18:00 > 0:18:03We could take them to the sandblasters and get them sandblasted.

0:18:03 > 0:18:05That sounds amazing.

0:18:05 > 0:18:09Norman's got a few tricks up his sleeve, so let's hear it.

0:18:11 > 0:18:13Going to throw the seats away,

0:18:13 > 0:18:16and we are going to take them to have them sandblasted so it gives it

0:18:16 > 0:18:18a completely different look and feel

0:18:18 > 0:18:20and hopefully it'll work really well.

0:18:20 > 0:18:22It's an old-fashioned spruce up.

0:18:22 > 0:18:25Norman will replace the seats and backs,

0:18:25 > 0:18:28and the wood will be sandblasted down to its natural grain.

0:18:28 > 0:18:30What could be simpler?

0:18:30 > 0:18:32Well, we'll wait and see.

0:18:32 > 0:18:34Trusted hammer.

0:18:37 > 0:18:42To start, Norman removes the seats and backs so he can send one of the

0:18:42 > 0:18:46chairs to the sandblasters as a test, to see what it looks like.

0:18:46 > 0:18:47Sandblasting is...

0:18:47 > 0:18:50Well, why don't you tell us, Norman?

0:18:51 > 0:18:53Sandblasting, it's, um...

0:18:53 > 0:18:56They use, um, well, sand, to be perfectly honest.

0:18:56 > 0:18:58Fascinating. Tell me more.

0:18:58 > 0:19:01The idea is that they clean it up,

0:19:01 > 0:19:04but don't go too hard into it so it brings out the grain.

0:19:06 > 0:19:08With the test chair sent off,

0:19:08 > 0:19:12Norman moves on to making the brand-new seat bases,

0:19:12 > 0:19:16and for this he is using old dusty floorboards?

0:19:17 > 0:19:20The floorboards, I mean, we're not just going to chuck them on and

0:19:20 > 0:19:23everything. I mean, we'll strip them and then we'll polish them.

0:19:23 > 0:19:25It will give it a really, really nice finish.

0:19:25 > 0:19:30Nothing screams luxury like the feeling you're sitting on the floor.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33Depending on their condition, old floorboards are actually ideal

0:19:33 > 0:19:39for reusing in furniture as they are traditionally made from hardwoods

0:19:39 > 0:19:41such as elm or oak.

0:19:44 > 0:19:46There's our floorboards that we've cut.

0:19:46 > 0:19:49Obviously once we've stripped them and then we've stained them

0:19:49 > 0:19:52and then polish them, they will look really, really lovely.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55Well, we'll have to take your word for that, Norman.

0:19:56 > 0:20:01In the meantime, Norman's test chair is back from the sandblasters,

0:20:01 > 0:20:02so how's it looking?

0:20:02 > 0:20:04It's a lot, lot lighter.

0:20:04 > 0:20:06We're going to run with it now cos it is lighter.

0:20:06 > 0:20:08So, yeah, we're rocking and rolling.

0:20:08 > 0:20:10It does look lighter, yes,

0:20:10 > 0:20:14but it also looks like 100 cats have been scratching at it.

0:20:16 > 0:20:19Norman and Sarah agreed on a budget of £400

0:20:19 > 0:20:21to transform all four chairs.

0:20:21 > 0:20:24Norman better make them gorgeous soon, because

0:20:24 > 0:20:28scratchy wood and dusty floorboards don't sound very saleable.

0:20:34 > 0:20:39With Sarah's items starting to take shape, in Wolverhampton, Jay's

0:20:39 > 0:20:45hoping that he can rack up a profit with Sinitta's old crockery stand.

0:20:45 > 0:20:48He did say he had something in mind for it.

0:20:48 > 0:20:50So let's hear it.

0:20:52 > 0:20:56I do love a challenge and Sinitta has definitely handed me one here.

0:20:56 > 0:20:59I'm going to turn it into a music light box.

0:21:00 > 0:21:02This is what's going to give me the light - the LEDs.

0:21:02 > 0:21:04And this is what's going to give me the music,

0:21:04 > 0:21:06this is a Bluetooth speaker.

0:21:08 > 0:21:13To make the box itself, Jay is first cutting the plate rack into three.

0:21:14 > 0:21:16One down, two more to go.

0:21:19 > 0:21:22The lights and speaker Jay is installing are readily available

0:21:22 > 0:21:26consumer units that don't require any additional wiring.

0:21:26 > 0:21:28Just plug 'em in and party.

0:21:30 > 0:21:34Yes! Now, that is perfect. I thought it would fit, anyway.

0:21:34 > 0:21:37But the colour is not good for showing off light,

0:21:37 > 0:21:40so I'm going to give this an overall coat of paint,

0:21:40 > 0:21:42probably going to spray it black.

0:21:45 > 0:21:49Jay's using a water-based paint and is spraying the plate rack

0:21:49 > 0:21:52in a well-ventilated area.

0:21:53 > 0:21:56Compared with traditional solvent-based paints,

0:21:56 > 0:22:00water-based paints are not only safer to use for humans,

0:22:00 > 0:22:03but are better for the environment too.

0:22:05 > 0:22:07So now I've got it all sprayed up,

0:22:07 > 0:22:10all I've got to do is put everything back together again.

0:22:12 > 0:22:14Jay is racing through this one.

0:22:14 > 0:22:18I wonder what music will be played through a dish rack music box!

0:22:18 > 0:22:20Rack and roll?

0:22:20 > 0:22:22Dishco?

0:22:22 > 0:22:23That's all I've got.

0:22:24 > 0:22:30Jay's attaching a custom top he made from scrap wood to two sides of the box,

0:22:30 > 0:22:34leaving the back off for now so he can fit in all his goodies.

0:22:37 > 0:22:44So far, Jay's spent £44.98 on all the bits and bobs for the light box.

0:22:44 > 0:22:46He'll no doubt make it look smart,

0:22:46 > 0:22:49but it will all be for nothing if it doesn't sound good too.

0:22:54 > 0:22:59For the next stop in our junk journey, we're in Manchester.

0:23:00 > 0:23:05Jay has sent Sinitta's failing fan to the man who can - Mark Haig.

0:23:07 > 0:23:12Bright spark Mark uses his decades of engineering experience

0:23:12 > 0:23:16to create one-of-a-kind sculptures from second-hand materials.

0:23:16 > 0:23:19Although his true passion is robots.

0:23:19 > 0:23:21The thing I love about robots,

0:23:21 > 0:23:24I've just always been a fan of science fiction,

0:23:24 > 0:23:27and all those B-movies when I was a kid.

0:23:27 > 0:23:28It just took me to a different place.

0:23:29 > 0:23:32There's always a challenge, every sculpture that I build has got

0:23:32 > 0:23:34a different challenge to it.

0:23:34 > 0:23:37So taking something that is broken and then making it into

0:23:37 > 0:23:40something that's desirable, that works for me.

0:23:41 > 0:23:43You like a challenge, Mark?

0:23:43 > 0:23:44Well, you've got one!

0:23:46 > 0:23:48Hi, Mark, how are you doing?

0:23:48 > 0:23:52Jay's on the phone to find out what kind of robot Mark has in mind.

0:23:52 > 0:23:54Talking robot?

0:23:54 > 0:23:55Dancing robot?

0:23:55 > 0:23:58Japanese fighting Ninja robot?

0:23:58 > 0:24:01I can't see it being a robot, I'm afraid.

0:24:01 > 0:24:03Oh, I was looking forward to that.

0:24:03 > 0:24:05Any other ideas, then?

0:24:05 > 0:24:08Have you seen those kind of steampunk lights?

0:24:08 > 0:24:11Imagine, like, having a pole and then making sort of a kebab

0:24:11 > 0:24:15out of lots of interesting bits as it rises up.

0:24:17 > 0:24:18Are you with me?

0:24:18 > 0:24:19No!

0:24:19 > 0:24:23But if Jay's on board, kebab light it is!

0:24:23 > 0:24:25All right. Bye-bye now, bye.

0:24:27 > 0:24:30It's going to be kind of a steampunk-themed light.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33Some interesting things to come down the base.

0:24:34 > 0:24:36What, like onions, peppers?

0:24:36 > 0:24:40Hopefully it will be an interesting and nice piece.

0:24:40 > 0:24:44This is making me hungry! When do we stop for lunch?

0:24:45 > 0:24:47Let's get started.

0:24:47 > 0:24:51Mark begins to strip the fan of any plastic, so he's left with

0:24:51 > 0:24:56just the metal bits that he can incorporate back into his light.

0:24:56 > 0:24:59One thing that's nice about what I'm working on here

0:24:59 > 0:25:01is that it's got standard screws.

0:25:03 > 0:25:06Some manufacturers actually make them so they're extremely

0:25:06 > 0:25:08difficult to get into and actually repair.

0:25:11 > 0:25:14So I'm happy that this is more or less dismantled now.

0:25:14 > 0:25:19And I said to Jay that I was going to do this sort of kebab thing with the base.

0:25:19 > 0:25:22So let's have a rummage.

0:25:22 > 0:25:24Mark is...

0:25:24 > 0:25:26Let's call him a collector of junk.

0:25:26 > 0:25:31He can't pass a skip or car-boot sale without picking something up

0:25:31 > 0:25:33he might one day find a use for.

0:25:33 > 0:25:35Yeah, happy with that.

0:25:35 > 0:25:40Most of his finds feel at home around the artistic subculture of steampunk.

0:25:40 > 0:25:43It's got some weight to it, so I might not need a base.

0:25:43 > 0:25:48Steampunk is inspired by 19th century industrial machinery

0:25:48 > 0:25:52which is incorporated into art, clothing, furniture...

0:25:52 > 0:25:54and robots.

0:25:54 > 0:26:00So, if you imagine you've got this sort of steampunk-type thing

0:26:00 > 0:26:02going on with these different elements.

0:26:02 > 0:26:05And then, piece de resistance,

0:26:05 > 0:26:09is somehow that is going to go on the front there,

0:26:09 > 0:26:14then that is the kind of structure I was talking about.

0:26:14 > 0:26:16Of course. A kebab windmill.

0:26:16 > 0:26:18Just what everybody needs!

0:26:19 > 0:26:22This looks like it could take a while.

0:26:22 > 0:26:24Let's leave him to it.

0:26:25 > 0:26:29Mark and Jay have agreed on a budget of £200 for the light.

0:26:29 > 0:26:33He'd better produce something nice soon because at the moment,

0:26:33 > 0:26:37it's less steampunk and more steam junk.

0:26:40 > 0:26:43Back in West Sussex...

0:26:44 > 0:26:47..Sarah is hammering in the last bits and bobs

0:26:47 > 0:26:50of her new sunburst mirrors.

0:26:50 > 0:26:54But was changing her mind halfway through the right decision?

0:26:54 > 0:26:56Well, there's no turning back now!

0:26:56 > 0:26:58Well, that's the mirror on.

0:26:58 > 0:27:00Stuck really fast.

0:27:00 > 0:27:03Looks quite good. A few finishing touches.

0:27:03 > 0:27:06Quite good? That's the spirit.

0:27:06 > 0:27:11Before, Toyah's parasols were hidden away in the dark.

0:27:11 > 0:27:12But now...

0:27:16 > 0:27:20..they have been lit up as a set of shimmering sunburst mirrors.

0:27:23 > 0:27:27Sarah spray-painted the bamboo glimmering metallic colours

0:27:27 > 0:27:30which shine like the sun itself.

0:27:32 > 0:27:36All finished off with empty bullet cartridges Sarah sourced from

0:27:36 > 0:27:40a local shooting range, placed on the tips of the beams.

0:27:42 > 0:27:47Sarah's a smart cookie for spotting the sunshine in those umbrellas.

0:27:47 > 0:27:49What a transformation.

0:27:50 > 0:27:52That was one fiddly project.

0:27:52 > 0:27:55But it's unusual, it's striking, and I hope it's something

0:27:55 > 0:27:57that people are going to want to have in their homes.

0:27:57 > 0:28:00And I've got four made, so that's fantastic.

0:28:00 > 0:28:02Well, let's get them sold.

0:28:04 > 0:28:09Sarah fired off pictures of the mirrors to every nook and cranny of the internet.

0:28:09 > 0:28:12And...she sold them!

0:28:13 > 0:28:16To a vintage homewares shop in Southwold.

0:28:16 > 0:28:20And owner Andy couldn't wait to hang them on the wall.

0:28:21 > 0:28:23Great addition to our retro room.

0:28:23 > 0:28:26This is an unusual piece, a one-off. It'll fly out.

0:28:27 > 0:28:29I'm glad you're happy, Andy.

0:28:29 > 0:28:31They really are cool.

0:28:31 > 0:28:33But how much profit did they make?

0:28:40 > 0:28:42That's our first sale in the bag.

0:28:42 > 0:28:44Good job.

0:28:44 > 0:28:48Sarah's in East Sussex to check on Norman

0:28:48 > 0:28:50and Toyah's four brown chairs.

0:28:50 > 0:28:53When we left him, Norman was about to start.

0:28:53 > 0:28:56Sorry, am I boring you, Norman?

0:28:57 > 0:28:58Sorry!

0:28:58 > 0:29:01I think it might have been a late night.

0:29:02 > 0:29:04It went wrong in places,

0:29:04 > 0:29:08but we've rectified it and I think the end result has worked well,

0:29:08 > 0:29:11so let's just wait and see what the boss thinks.

0:29:11 > 0:29:14Ah, there's been problems. Come to think of it,

0:29:14 > 0:29:18I don't remember him saying he was going to paint them white.

0:29:20 > 0:29:24Well, I'm here in Sussex to see my woodworking wonder man, Norman.

0:29:24 > 0:29:27He's got Toyah's chairs, £100 each to spend on them.

0:29:27 > 0:29:29I hope he's done something fabulous!

0:29:29 > 0:29:31Fingers crossed.

0:29:33 > 0:29:36Before Norman got to work on them, Toyah's chairs

0:29:36 > 0:29:40were dark, dated and firmly stuck in the past.

0:29:40 > 0:29:42But now...

0:29:46 > 0:29:50..they're light, bright, and bursting with character.

0:29:51 > 0:29:55Norman's brand-new floorboard seats and backrests have

0:29:55 > 0:29:59scrubbed up beautifully, turning these chairs from old and bleak

0:29:59 > 0:30:02into country cottage chic.

0:30:03 > 0:30:07The sandblasting has really brought out the natural grain of the wood,

0:30:07 > 0:30:11which contrasts nicely with the smooth, polished seat bases.

0:30:13 > 0:30:16And as for the last minute white paint job,

0:30:16 > 0:30:18I'll let Norman tell you.

0:30:20 > 0:30:22- Norman!- Are they the same ones?

0:30:22 > 0:30:24No, no, different set.

0:30:25 > 0:30:28- What do you think of them then? - They've come up well, haven't they?

0:30:28 > 0:30:29Yes, they have come up well.

0:30:29 > 0:30:32We had a little disaster along the way.

0:30:32 > 0:30:33Why, what happened, what happened?

0:30:33 > 0:30:36We sealed them to try and keep them light,

0:30:36 > 0:30:39and when we sealed them, we turned them a bit orange.

0:30:39 > 0:30:42- Orange!- So... Orange, yeah.- We don't like orange, we don't like orange.

0:30:42 > 0:30:45It should have stayed clear and it didn't, so we ended up liming them

0:30:45 > 0:30:47but I think it actually works really well.

0:30:47 > 0:30:50The lime is really bringing out all of that texture that you've brought up in the oak.

0:30:50 > 0:30:53Yes, it's been in the sandblaster, so it's got a lovely texture and feel to it.

0:30:53 > 0:30:56Are they comfortable? Have you sat on them?

0:30:56 > 0:30:58- They sit perfectly.- Have you sat on them?- Of course I have.

0:30:58 > 0:31:00- Go on, then, take a pew. - You take one, I'll take one.

0:31:02 > 0:31:05It looks like they have passed the comfy bum test.

0:31:05 > 0:31:06Now down to business.

0:31:06 > 0:31:10Norman had a budget of £100 per chair for this project.

0:31:10 > 0:31:12But how did he get on?

0:31:12 > 0:31:15Talk me through the money, how did you get on?

0:31:15 > 0:31:18We came in on budget, but we're actually going to do them £10 less each.

0:31:18 > 0:31:21- 90 quid each?- 90 quid each, yeah. - 90 quid each, you are a little

0:31:21 > 0:31:24- cupcake, thank you, they are lovely, thank you.- Cupcake.

0:31:25 > 0:31:27Cupcake?!

0:31:27 > 0:31:30I'm happy. I mean, yes, they didn't quite go as we wanted,

0:31:30 > 0:31:33we had a bit more work on them than we thought, but I'm glad

0:31:33 > 0:31:36Sarah's pleased, I'm pleased, so we are all a winner.

0:31:36 > 0:31:40Well, the woodworking wonder man has swooped in and saved yet more furniture.

0:31:40 > 0:31:43He's overachieved and he's under budget.

0:31:43 > 0:31:45Can't get better than that!

0:31:49 > 0:31:52So excited was Sarah about selling those chairs

0:31:52 > 0:31:54that she skipped all the way home.

0:31:56 > 0:31:58Seriously, she should have just taken the car.

0:32:00 > 0:32:04But as soon as the pictures of the chairs were shared online, they were snapped up...

0:32:06 > 0:32:09..by a vintage home furnishings shop in Kent,

0:32:09 > 0:32:12and owner Maria couldn't be happier.

0:32:12 > 0:32:15They look even better than they did in the photograph, I love them.

0:32:15 > 0:32:19I love the carving and I love what the limed effect has done to them.

0:32:21 > 0:32:25Sarah's tallied up her sales and is back in Worcestershire

0:32:25 > 0:32:28to show Toyah what's been made and hand over the profit.

0:32:29 > 0:32:32I'm so excited to see Sarah again,

0:32:32 > 0:32:35I can't wait to see what she's done with the items I gave her.

0:32:35 > 0:32:39The craftsmen she chooses are always fantastic, so I'm hoping

0:32:39 > 0:32:43to see something very contemporary and very bright.

0:32:43 > 0:32:46Just wait until you see those mirrors.

0:32:48 > 0:32:50- Hello!- Hello, come on in.

0:32:50 > 0:32:53- Thank you.- It's really good to see you again.- And you.

0:32:53 > 0:32:58So the set of chairs, I took them to a guy called Norman.

0:32:58 > 0:33:02So he had a good look at them and he actually sandblasted them

0:33:02 > 0:33:04- and gave them a bit of a new look. - I can't wait to see!

0:33:04 > 0:33:07I've got some pictures here to show you.

0:33:08 > 0:33:11Do you know, I wouldn't in a million years have thought of

0:33:11 > 0:33:14doing anything like that. I think they're fantastic.

0:33:14 > 0:33:17- I'd have them here. - They've actually sold for a profit.

0:33:17 > 0:33:21- So there's £125. - Oh, well done!

0:33:21 > 0:33:23That's amazing.

0:33:23 > 0:33:24Next, the parasols.

0:33:24 > 0:33:27There was one that wasn't in great condition, so I stripped it down

0:33:27 > 0:33:30and when I came to look at it,

0:33:30 > 0:33:33it suddenly reminded me of a sunburst mirror.

0:33:33 > 0:33:36So I took them and I made them into these.

0:33:36 > 0:33:38They now look like that.

0:33:38 > 0:33:40That is just...

0:33:40 > 0:33:44Those are absolutely brilliant, Sarah, they're brilliant.

0:33:44 > 0:33:45They have sold, in fact,

0:33:45 > 0:33:48and gone off to a shop so there is profit from those.

0:33:48 > 0:33:53They managed to make £157.54 on those, so I have got the total here.

0:33:53 > 0:33:58There is £282.54 there for you.

0:33:59 > 0:34:01That is so brilliant.

0:34:01 > 0:34:04And thank you so much for saving them from the tip.

0:34:04 > 0:34:06Have you got a charity in mind?

0:34:06 > 0:34:10Yes, my Aunt Sheila's hospice was the Shakespeare Hospice

0:34:10 > 0:34:13in Stratford-upon-Avon and that's where this is going.

0:34:13 > 0:34:15And thank you on her behalf.

0:34:15 > 0:34:17It's an absolute pleasure, thank you so much.

0:34:17 > 0:34:19You're going to get more off me,

0:34:19 > 0:34:22I'm going to go around the house and give you everything!

0:34:23 > 0:34:26Don't joke, Toyah, she'll clear you out.

0:34:27 > 0:34:31I'm so impressed, and I really like what's happened.

0:34:31 > 0:34:35It's given everything a new lease of life and it's given it more time,

0:34:35 > 0:34:39which means a young couple will own something and it will be around

0:34:39 > 0:34:42for another 100 years. That's lovely.

0:34:42 > 0:34:46Sarah sold the chairs for £485.

0:34:46 > 0:34:52Taking off Norman's labour and materials left a profit of £125.

0:34:52 > 0:34:57Sarah's mirrors all sold for a total of £185.

0:34:57 > 0:35:01And, after her material costs were taken off,

0:35:01 > 0:35:04it left her a profit of £157.54.

0:35:04 > 0:35:11Altogether, Toyah has £282.54 to donate to the Shakespeare Hospice,

0:35:11 > 0:35:13which cared for her aunt.

0:35:18 > 0:35:22Well done, Sarah. And back in Wolverhampton,

0:35:22 > 0:35:26has Jay managed to turn Sinitta's old dish rack

0:35:26 > 0:35:29into an all-singing all-dancing music light box?

0:35:29 > 0:35:33I hope so, because I'm in the mood for a boogie.

0:35:34 > 0:35:38Now, here's the big test, the box is all together,

0:35:38 > 0:35:43the lights and speaker, are they going to work? Wish me luck.

0:35:43 > 0:35:48Jay's worked hard to make the old dish rack functional again,

0:35:48 > 0:35:51but has he succeeded? It's time to face the music.

0:35:56 > 0:35:58Yes, he has!

0:35:58 > 0:36:02Jay's disco box looks the business, with his remote-controlled

0:36:02 > 0:36:07LED lights flashing out from the sleek black base.

0:36:07 > 0:36:12The music box is portable, so the party can follow you wherever you go.

0:36:12 > 0:36:15Just not on the bus, please.

0:36:15 > 0:36:18It certainly looks the part, but how does it sound?

0:36:20 > 0:36:23Now, for the speaker, here we go.

0:36:23 > 0:36:25MUSIC PLAYS

0:36:25 > 0:36:26Come on!

0:36:28 > 0:36:30Sounding good, Jay.

0:36:30 > 0:36:32Come on, show us some moves.

0:36:32 > 0:36:34Jay? Jay?

0:36:34 > 0:36:36Oh, he's mesmerised by the lights.

0:36:36 > 0:36:39Although, they are quite hypnotic...

0:36:40 > 0:36:42Snap out of it!

0:36:43 > 0:36:45Time to get selling.

0:36:45 > 0:36:48Jay's uploading pics onto social media to try and drum up

0:36:48 > 0:36:51some interest, and drum it up he did.

0:36:53 > 0:36:59Jay's light box was bought by Microtek Repair Solutions in Wolverhampton.

0:36:59 > 0:37:03And manager Aaron thinks it's quite... What's the word?

0:37:03 > 0:37:07I think it's quite snazzy - the flashing lights, you can put it on

0:37:07 > 0:37:11in a dark room and listen to some music and chill out, wind down.

0:37:11 > 0:37:13Whatever floats your boat, Aaron.

0:37:13 > 0:37:18Jay managed to sell it, but how much profit has been made?

0:37:27 > 0:37:31In Manchester, Jay is all boogied out from finishing the music box,

0:37:31 > 0:37:34and what do you do after you've been dancing?

0:37:34 > 0:37:36Get a kebab.

0:37:38 > 0:37:42Mark is putting the finishing touches to Sinitta's steampunk kebab light.

0:37:44 > 0:37:47Jay is hoping it looks proper tasty.

0:37:47 > 0:37:50Interesting project, difficult project.

0:37:51 > 0:37:54Lots of techniques that I'd not used before, really.

0:37:54 > 0:37:57But I'm hoping that he likes what I've come up with.

0:37:57 > 0:37:59I'm here in Manchester to see Mark, and hopefully he's risen

0:37:59 > 0:38:02to that challenge on what to do with that fan.

0:38:02 > 0:38:05I know I couldn't do it, so let's go take a look.

0:38:06 > 0:38:11Transforming that rickety old plastic fan was never going to be a breeze.

0:38:11 > 0:38:14But now, fanfare, please...

0:38:17 > 0:38:20It's a big and bright magic lamp.

0:38:21 > 0:38:23Mark has built up his kebab base

0:38:23 > 0:38:28with everything from plant pots to an old ashtray, which has

0:38:28 > 0:38:32come together to create a truly unique piece of steampunk lighting.

0:38:33 > 0:38:37Topped off with Edison light bulbs, it's been PAT tested

0:38:37 > 0:38:40and complies with all UK electrical safety standards.

0:38:40 > 0:38:43It's a bold design, all right,

0:38:43 > 0:38:46but will Jay be blown away with the transformation?

0:38:48 > 0:38:50Oh, come on! Mark, look at that.

0:38:51 > 0:38:55- How are we doing? - I'm all right, fella, how are you? - I'm very good now!

0:38:55 > 0:38:57Look at this, man, you've done it again, haven't you?

0:38:57 > 0:38:59These are all found objects that I've found.

0:38:59 > 0:39:03- I tried to use as much of the fan as possible.- It's cool, mate, it's cool.

0:39:03 > 0:39:04There is the blades of the fan.

0:39:04 > 0:39:07- Right.- There's some of the mechanism back there.

0:39:07 > 0:39:10- And this is the base of the fan. - You've definitely done me proud,

0:39:10 > 0:39:12it is just amazing.

0:39:12 > 0:39:15- I'm just amazed by it all. - Thank you.

0:39:15 > 0:39:19I think it's safe to say Jay is a big fan of the fan.

0:39:19 > 0:39:20But what about the budget?

0:39:20 > 0:39:23- Now then...- Right. - We said 200 on the phone.

0:39:23 > 0:39:26- Yes, we did, sir.- We did, but I forgot about the price of the bulbs.

0:39:26 > 0:39:28- The price of the bulbs, oh, they're free, aren't they?- No.

0:39:28 > 0:39:31They are about six quid a bulb.

0:39:31 > 0:39:36- All right, so we're talking about £224?- 225.

0:39:36 > 0:39:38- Thank you, sir.- Absolute pleasure.

0:39:38 > 0:39:40Job done.

0:39:40 > 0:39:43I think it's a really nice piece and I hope somebody likes it

0:39:43 > 0:39:45and I hope they buy it.

0:39:45 > 0:39:48Mark has definitely smashed it.

0:39:48 > 0:39:50He's given me a steampunk lamp.

0:39:50 > 0:39:51It just looks beautiful.

0:39:51 > 0:39:53Now all I've got to do is sell it.

0:39:53 > 0:39:56I know it's not going to be hard.

0:40:00 > 0:40:03It was full steam ahead to get the light sold.

0:40:03 > 0:40:07Jay knew there was a fan of steampunk out there

0:40:07 > 0:40:10just itching for a big, brassy light, and...

0:40:10 > 0:40:12Great, I found a buyer.

0:40:12 > 0:40:14..he found them.

0:40:15 > 0:40:19The Steam Barber Shop in Truro, Cornwall, loved the light,

0:40:19 > 0:40:21and owner Dan couldn't be happier.

0:40:21 > 0:40:25It suits the theme of our shop, it's industrial, it's steampunk.

0:40:25 > 0:40:29The bulbs look awesome and it makes the shop come to life.

0:40:31 > 0:40:35With the profits from the light box and the lamp added up,

0:40:35 > 0:40:40Jay is back in south-west London to show Sinitta the transformations,

0:40:40 > 0:40:42and hand over some cash.

0:40:42 > 0:40:46I think I've given him quite challenging things to work with,

0:40:46 > 0:40:51and it's either going to be amazing or a disaster, right?

0:40:53 > 0:40:55No pressure there, Jay.

0:40:56 > 0:40:58Yay! How are you?

0:40:58 > 0:41:00- How are you doing? - Really good, thanks.

0:41:00 > 0:41:03- That's good.- So excited. - Are you?- I can't wait.

0:41:03 > 0:41:04Right.

0:41:04 > 0:41:07So do you remember the two items I got from you, then?

0:41:07 > 0:41:10Yes, you had my funny fan, rickety old fan.

0:41:10 > 0:41:13- That's right, the fan. - And then my plate tray.

0:41:13 > 0:41:16- So would you like to see what I've done with them then? - I can't wait. Yes.

0:41:16 > 0:41:20Here is what used to be your plate rack.

0:41:20 > 0:41:22Now it's turned into a music light box.

0:41:24 > 0:41:28- Wow!- Inside you've got lights and also inside there you've got

0:41:28 > 0:41:31a Bluetooth speaker which allows you to play music.

0:41:31 > 0:41:34- That's going to look amazing in my room!- You can't have this one!

0:41:34 > 0:41:36This one's been sold.

0:41:36 > 0:41:40I am glad to tell you we've made £70.02 profit on this one.

0:41:40 > 0:41:43- Wow!- And then your fan, do you want to see your fan?

0:41:43 > 0:41:45- Yes, well, not really! - Well, what used to be your fan.

0:41:45 > 0:41:47Yes. Wow, but what is that now?

0:41:47 > 0:41:50- It is a light.- It's a lamp. - That's incredible!

0:41:50 > 0:41:53So there are the propellers at the back as well.

0:41:53 > 0:41:56I love it, will you make me another if I buy another horrible fan?

0:41:56 > 0:41:59I'll speak to Mark and see if he can make you another one!

0:41:59 > 0:42:01It's so clever, it's stunning.

0:42:01 > 0:42:06In total you'll be glad to know that we've made £190 for the two items.

0:42:06 > 0:42:08- And 2p.- And 2p!

0:42:08 > 0:42:11- Amazing.- So here is your 190.

0:42:11 > 0:42:14- Thank you so much. - And I'm not going to forget your 2p. - And the 2p.

0:42:14 > 0:42:16- Wow, amazing.- What are you going to do with it?

0:42:16 > 0:42:18I'm going to give it to the Diana Awards.

0:42:18 > 0:42:22The Diana Awards basically equip and reward kids who are doing

0:42:22 > 0:42:24great things in their communities,

0:42:24 > 0:42:26so this is going to be very much appreciated.

0:42:26 > 0:42:28That's a good cause as well.

0:42:28 > 0:42:30- Thank you.- Thank you.

0:42:30 > 0:42:32You take care now.

0:42:32 > 0:42:33Good job, Jay.

0:42:33 > 0:42:36I mean, who would have thought that two things that you were

0:42:36 > 0:42:39basically going to just throw away could raise so much?

0:42:39 > 0:42:43Jay sold his light box for £115

0:42:43 > 0:42:49and, taking off materials, it left a profit of £70.02.

0:42:49 > 0:42:53Mark's fan light sold for an impressive £345.

0:42:53 > 0:42:59Minus his labour and material costs, it left a profit of £120.

0:42:59 > 0:43:04Together, Sinitta has a profit of £190.02

0:43:04 > 0:43:07to donate to her chosen children's charity.

0:43:07 > 0:43:09Fantastic.

0:43:11 > 0:43:14Sarah and Jay saved four bits of celebrity junk.

0:43:16 > 0:43:18And with the help of some of the country's best

0:43:18 > 0:43:22and brightest designers, they've all been given a new start

0:43:22 > 0:43:25and a chance to be loved again.

0:43:26 > 0:43:29We loved saving Toyah and Sinitta's trash.

0:43:29 > 0:43:32And turning it into saleable items and making money for nothing.

0:43:32 > 0:43:35For two very worthy causes.
