0:00:02 > 0:00:03Today, we're in the West Midlands.

0:00:03 > 0:00:06And no matter where we live in the country, we're always part of a community.

0:00:06 > 0:00:08But more often than not these days,

0:00:08 > 0:00:10it's hard to get to know who your next-door neighbours are.

0:00:10 > 0:00:13Well, today, hopefully all of that is going to change

0:00:13 > 0:00:16because we are bringing the people of this town together

0:00:16 > 0:00:18to have one massive street party -

0:00:18 > 0:00:21to celebrate the efforts of one very special person

0:00:21 > 0:00:23who's at the heart of this community.

0:00:23 > 0:00:27A man who works tirelessly with those who need a helping hand...

0:00:27 > 0:00:31The work he does is just amazing and we're so glad to have him

0:00:31 > 0:00:33as part of our family within the school.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36..as well as coping with a genetic disorder,

0:00:36 > 0:00:38which has affected his own family.

0:00:38 > 0:00:39I've never met anybody like him.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41He's just fantastic.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44So we're throwing a street auction just for him.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46- ALL:- Three, two, one.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48Here we go, it's now or never.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51We'll be pounding the streets of his hometown

0:00:51 > 0:00:54to find interesting items that we can sell.

0:00:54 > 0:00:55It's a real antique.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58Such a find, absolutely made my day.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00It's not all going to be easy.

0:01:00 > 0:01:01DOG BARKS AGGRESSIVELY

0:01:01 > 0:01:04And will we manage to reach our target?

0:01:04 > 0:01:06Sold, £50.

0:01:11 > 0:01:15Today, I'm in Brownhills, nestled in the heart of the West Midlands,

0:01:15 > 0:01:17just ten miles north of Birmingham.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20The town was built around coalmines

0:01:20 > 0:01:23and good canal links meant that it prospered.

0:01:23 > 0:01:24Today, it's a close-knit town

0:01:24 > 0:01:28and a big part of that community is Paul Glover.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31Paul has lived in the area all his life

0:01:31 > 0:01:34and met Lisa when they were both just teenagers.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37They married and had two sons, Luke and Liam.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41We were just a normal family of four,

0:01:41 > 0:01:42two boisterous boys,

0:01:42 > 0:01:45just did all the things that normal families would do.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49We were really happy together as a four,

0:01:49 > 0:01:51but obviously we wanted another child.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Sadly, Paul and Lisa suffered a number of miscarriages

0:01:56 > 0:01:57as they tried for another baby.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01We'd pretty much given up hope of having any more children

0:02:01 > 0:02:02and then the girls were born.

0:02:04 > 0:02:08It's been like a massive explosion in the family in a lot of ways,

0:02:08 > 0:02:09a lot of positive ways,

0:02:09 > 0:02:12but in the early days also some quite difficult times.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16The twin girls, Isabel and Ashlee,

0:02:16 > 0:02:18were born with Williams syndrome,

0:02:18 > 0:02:20which is a rare congenital disorder

0:02:20 > 0:02:23which causes learning difficulties and cardiovascular problems,

0:02:23 > 0:02:26as well as many other symptoms.

0:02:26 > 0:02:30They were sick fairly constantly, most days, most nights,

0:02:30 > 0:02:33up till when they was about four and a half years old.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38We went through changing milk and things, nothing seemed to work,

0:02:38 > 0:02:41so of course they wasn't growing, they wasn't sleeping.

0:02:42 > 0:02:46But despite coping with two poorly babies and two growing boys,

0:02:46 > 0:02:49Paul and Lisa got through the most difficult times together.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54Lisa was incredible. We're a team, we work together,

0:02:54 > 0:02:57and, you know, what went on could have split up a lot of people,

0:02:57 > 0:03:00but if anything it made us stronger together.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02Without her, then I think I would have crumbled.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05The fact that Paul was there,

0:03:05 > 0:03:08I wouldn't have got through what I got through without him by my side.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11It brought us stronger and stronger because it's our family,

0:03:11 > 0:03:14so we just sort of, we just got everything together between us

0:03:14 > 0:03:15and just did our best.

0:03:15 > 0:03:17Since Isabel and Ashlee were born,

0:03:17 > 0:03:20Paul took the decision to change his direction in life,

0:03:20 > 0:03:22to give something back,

0:03:22 > 0:03:26so he began working with other disabled children and adults.

0:03:26 > 0:03:30He works 100%, he captivates the children, he gets them involved,

0:03:30 > 0:03:34he encourages them to take part, and that's what it's all about.

0:03:34 > 0:03:39He's fantastic. He brings so much to the individuals that we have here

0:03:39 > 0:03:43and he gives them opportunities that they wouldn't have had before.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46I like making a difference. I enjoy making a difference.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50There's people out there that are doing that for the girls as well,

0:03:50 > 0:03:52and if I can sort of do that for other people,

0:03:52 > 0:03:54then it's sort of giving back a little bit.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57Can you carry some cones for me, please?

0:03:57 > 0:04:00We think it's about time Paul was recognised for everything he does

0:04:00 > 0:04:03and we want to say a massive thank you.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08And we know he's been saving up to take the whole family on holiday

0:04:08 > 0:04:12to Florida, so we want to help make it the holiday of a lifetime

0:04:12 > 0:04:17and get them passes to the theme parks the girls have always wanted to visit.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19This will cost around £1,200

0:04:19 > 0:04:21and this is how we're going to raise it.

0:04:21 > 0:04:23Now, we've asked all of Paul's family,

0:04:23 > 0:04:27friends and neighbours to donate any unwanted or unloved items they have

0:04:27 > 0:04:30gathering dust in the house, the garage,

0:04:30 > 0:04:32the attic, or the garden shed, so we can sell them

0:04:32 > 0:04:35here at our street party and at the pop-up auction,

0:04:35 > 0:04:38all the time keeping it a secret from Paul.

0:04:38 > 0:04:40Now, it's a huge task.

0:04:40 > 0:04:41I can't do this by myself,

0:04:41 > 0:04:45so I drafted in a couple of friends who know exactly what to look out for

0:04:45 > 0:04:48and, hopefully, those items will help us reach our target.

0:04:48 > 0:04:52They arrived here a few weeks ago to set the wheels in motion.

0:04:53 > 0:04:57Danny Sebastian is a trader who knows his treasure from his trash

0:04:57 > 0:04:59and Izzie Balmer is an auctioneer

0:04:59 > 0:05:01with knowledge of all things antique.

0:05:11 > 0:05:13What a beautiful day, Izzie.

0:05:13 > 0:05:14It's glorious.

0:05:14 > 0:05:17- Isn't it just?- I've got a good feeling about today.

0:05:17 > 0:05:18I think we need a good feeling on this one

0:05:18 > 0:05:22cos it's kind of a special story, and Paul does so much.

0:05:22 > 0:05:24He's got a lot on his plate.

0:05:24 > 0:05:26I think we've got to push the boat out.

0:05:26 > 0:05:28Because every penny helps.

0:05:28 > 0:05:30I've got a feeling I'm running this one,

0:05:30 > 0:05:32so, on that note, I'm out of here.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37Right, it's time to get cracking.

0:05:37 > 0:05:39Danny and Izzie are in competition

0:05:39 > 0:05:42to see who can uncover the best items,

0:05:42 > 0:05:44and Danny's got a good feeling already...

0:05:44 > 0:05:47I think I'm in for a winning day today!

0:05:47 > 0:05:49..while Izzie's finding it tough.

0:05:49 > 0:05:51Not got anything at all?

0:05:51 > 0:05:52OK, thanks very much, bye-bye.

0:05:54 > 0:05:56But Danny's got a theory.

0:05:56 > 0:05:58Big numbers game, this.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Generally, you know, first thing in the morning, everybody's at work,

0:06:01 > 0:06:04so you're knocking on a lot of doors and not getting a lot of joy,

0:06:04 > 0:06:06but I'm keeping positive.

0:06:06 > 0:06:08Me spirits are always up.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12Danny's theory's paying off.

0:06:12 > 0:06:13He's met Bob and his family.

0:06:13 > 0:06:16- Are you going on holiday?- Yeah. - I've come at the right time, then.

0:06:16 > 0:06:19Take up five minutes of your time, I'm quick, you know, I'll just be,

0:06:19 > 0:06:21"Yes, no, yes, no," and we'll be...

0:06:21 > 0:06:23OK, then. Right. Is this any good to you?

0:06:23 > 0:06:26Beautiful, like, a little seat.

0:06:26 > 0:06:27All right?

0:06:28 > 0:06:31- Beautiful, that.- That's just come out, I only took it out yesterday.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33- What, the barbecue? - No, not the barbecue.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35HE LAUGHS

0:06:35 > 0:06:38- Take the...- We'll take the... Take the lamp.

0:06:38 > 0:06:40I'll put that there so I don't forget it.

0:06:40 > 0:06:42Bob was the local butcher and knows the community well.

0:06:42 > 0:06:46People round here are very, very good and they'll help you out if they can.

0:06:46 > 0:06:47Brownhills is a great area to live.

0:06:47 > 0:06:49I think Bob's given enough now, Danny.

0:06:49 > 0:06:51You'd better let them go on holiday.

0:06:51 > 0:06:54- Lovely.- Lovely, thank you very much. - Grand job, thank you.- Cheers.

0:06:54 > 0:06:57Fell on me feet again. Got some lovely bits here, I really have.

0:06:57 > 0:07:00This little light here is quite modern,

0:07:00 > 0:07:03but I'm sure it'll fit into somebody's interior,

0:07:03 > 0:07:06but what I really like is this little hall chair,

0:07:06 > 0:07:09very nice in this damask covering.

0:07:09 > 0:07:13That should be making £10, maybe even £15.

0:07:13 > 0:07:16Nice one, Danny. I hope Izzie's having better luck now.

0:07:18 > 0:07:21Feeling a bit frustrated and a bit downhearted.

0:07:21 > 0:07:23Nobody seems to be in.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26We've done almost this street now and I haven't got anything,

0:07:26 > 0:07:31and I am slightly concerned that Danny is getting lots of stuff.

0:07:31 > 0:07:32Danny's on a roll.

0:07:32 > 0:07:34Hello! I'm in.

0:07:36 > 0:07:38Have you got any tools for me?

0:07:38 > 0:07:40There's some of my dad's tools in our tools.

0:07:42 > 0:07:44Well, they're quite nice.

0:07:44 > 0:07:46Can we have a couple of hoes? And there's a rake...

0:07:46 > 0:07:48That's the closest one to me.

0:07:48 > 0:07:50You're welcome to have one of the hoes.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52There's an old rocking chair you're leaning over.

0:07:52 > 0:07:55- Did you say old rocking chair? - It's an old one.

0:07:55 > 0:07:56I don't want it, really.

0:07:56 > 0:07:59You're welcome to take it, if you want that rocking chair.

0:07:59 > 0:08:00Reach it out yourself.

0:08:00 > 0:08:02Quite nice, that. That might do us.

0:08:02 > 0:08:04Might do somebody, anyway.

0:08:04 > 0:08:06What a generous donation.

0:08:06 > 0:08:09This community is really pulling out all the stops for Paul.

0:08:14 > 0:08:16When Ashlee and Isabel were born in 2003,

0:08:16 > 0:08:19doctors didn't know anything was wrong

0:08:19 > 0:08:21and they were sent home as healthy babies.

0:08:21 > 0:08:24But Paul and Lisa knew something wasn't right.

0:08:25 > 0:08:26It was both of them,

0:08:26 > 0:08:30they used to wake up crying, being sick most days, most nights.

0:08:30 > 0:08:33It was really hard, really hard.

0:08:34 > 0:08:36The girls had lots of stays in hospitals,

0:08:36 > 0:08:40with sickness and reflux, and no-one really could tell what it was.

0:08:41 > 0:08:44We just felt devastated because each time we went,

0:08:44 > 0:08:47we didn't feel as though we were getting anywhere at all,

0:08:47 > 0:08:49and the girls were just so poorly. We just couldn't...

0:08:49 > 0:08:53It was just horrible to be in that situation, day in, day out,

0:08:53 > 0:08:55not being able to help them at all or make anything better.

0:08:57 > 0:09:00It took six anxious years until Ashlee and Isabel

0:09:00 > 0:09:03were finally diagnosed with Williams syndrome.

0:09:03 > 0:09:05Those six years were very tough

0:09:05 > 0:09:08because they had to go through mainstream nursery and reception,

0:09:08 > 0:09:13and they had so many challenges to overcome, it was just unbelievable.

0:09:14 > 0:09:15Unbearable.

0:09:17 > 0:09:20Obviously, once we'd got the diagnosis of Williams syndrome,

0:09:20 > 0:09:22it was a complete and utter relief.

0:09:22 > 0:09:24We were so grateful to know what it was

0:09:24 > 0:09:27that was making them so poorly for so long.

0:09:27 > 0:09:29It just meant that we could help them.

0:09:30 > 0:09:33The condition affects them both mentally and physically.

0:09:33 > 0:09:36Isabel has already had a hole in her heart fixed

0:09:36 > 0:09:40and both girls will need more heart operations in the next few years.

0:09:42 > 0:09:45To send your child to surgery, to have major heart surgery,

0:09:45 > 0:09:46obviously is very nerve-racking.

0:09:48 > 0:09:50So the relief when they come through the other end is just...

0:09:50 > 0:09:52SHE EXHALES

0:09:52 > 0:09:55Another symptom of Williams syndrome is learning difficulties

0:09:55 > 0:09:59and hypersociability, which raises more concerns.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03Don't really develop beyond the age of about 12, 13,

0:10:03 > 0:10:07early teenager, really, so it makes them incredibly vulnerable.

0:10:07 > 0:10:13But despite the daily struggles and strains, Paul and Lisa feel lucky.

0:10:13 > 0:10:14What ride shall we go on?

0:10:14 > 0:10:16They light up every room they're in.

0:10:16 > 0:10:18They're so loving, so caring.

0:10:18 > 0:10:20They make very happy, very cheerful people.

0:10:20 > 0:10:22They don't see the bad in people, or the bad in the world,

0:10:22 > 0:10:25so Paul always says if everyone had a touch of Williams,

0:10:25 > 0:10:27the world would be a better place.

0:10:29 > 0:10:32Have a good day, Dad.

0:10:32 > 0:10:33Back to the rummaging,

0:10:33 > 0:10:36and Danny is still digging around in Sally's garden shed

0:10:36 > 0:10:38and he's spotted something else.

0:10:40 > 0:10:42It's quite nice proportions, really.

0:10:42 > 0:10:45I'm just thinking a sand down, a lick of paint,

0:10:45 > 0:10:46we might revive this piece

0:10:46 > 0:10:49and make it into something that would look very special.

0:10:49 > 0:10:51Great idea, Danny.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53That's definitely one to upcycle.

0:10:53 > 0:10:55What a fantastic haul you've got.

0:10:56 > 0:11:00This box has got to be my favourite. Lovely piece, that.

0:11:00 > 0:11:03Dove-tailed joints, sand it back, wax it up,

0:11:03 > 0:11:07I think we're heading up to about £100 worth here.

0:11:07 > 0:11:10Danny has raked in some quality donations there.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12Meanwhile, Izzy's found a furry friend.

0:11:12 > 0:11:14You're a bit excited, aren't you?

0:11:14 > 0:11:17Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes.

0:11:17 > 0:11:19Definitely, thank you.

0:11:19 > 0:11:22Thank you very much. I'll just pop these here.

0:11:22 > 0:11:25Yes, definitely, yes.

0:11:25 > 0:11:28Thank you. Yes, keep going, keep bringing it on.

0:11:29 > 0:11:31- Oh, yes.- It's a new one, that is.

0:11:31 > 0:11:33Oh, no, they'll have lots of fun with this.

0:11:33 > 0:11:36- Oh, thank you!- This hasn't been used.- Thank you very much.

0:11:36 > 0:11:38- What's your dog called?- Peppy.

0:11:38 > 0:11:40Peppy. Bring Peppy as well.

0:11:40 > 0:11:42- Yeah.- The whole family.- OK, then.

0:11:42 > 0:11:44- Thank you. Glad to help. - Have a lovely day.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47With Izzy's fortunes turning, can Danny stay ahead of the game?

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Just come back and I saw you, so I thought I'd drop this over.

0:11:50 > 0:11:51We might have some other stuff.

0:11:51 > 0:11:55- Have that for now, then. Yeah.- And I'll go and sort some more stuff out.

0:11:55 > 0:11:56- Brilliant.- Thank you very much.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59- Have a good day.- Yeah. Thank you very much. See you soon.

0:11:59 > 0:12:00Tell you what, it's all coming to.

0:12:00 > 0:12:03I'm really feeling like I might have this one in the bag.

0:12:03 > 0:12:07Izzy, I've got this one under my belt!

0:12:07 > 0:12:09Whether it's under your belt or in the bag, Danny,

0:12:09 > 0:12:12Izzy's checking out her donations.

0:12:12 > 0:12:16We've got assorted collector's plates here.

0:12:16 > 0:12:17They're not as popular as they used to be.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19They used to be really popular

0:12:19 > 0:12:22and people bought them as investment pieces.

0:12:22 > 0:12:23So, on the bric-a-brac,

0:12:23 > 0:12:26you're probably looking at about 50p a plate,

0:12:26 > 0:12:29and we have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven...

0:12:29 > 0:12:31About ten. £10...

0:12:31 > 0:12:33No, I can't do maths - £5 there.

0:12:33 > 0:12:36Some great things there to fill up the bric-a-brac stalls.

0:12:36 > 0:12:39Meanwhile, Danny's charmed his way into Beryl's attic.

0:12:39 > 0:12:42- Oh, come on.- Are you sure?

0:12:43 > 0:12:45So, how long have you lived in the community?

0:12:45 > 0:12:48Here, we've been here 27 years this...

0:12:48 > 0:12:53Next month. We're very fortunate, we've got lovely neighbours

0:12:53 > 0:12:55and I do all the baking for them.

0:12:55 > 0:12:57- Do you still do baking? - Oh, I do everything.

0:12:57 > 0:13:02My husband won't eat anything out of a box like you youngsters!

0:13:02 > 0:13:05I wonder if we can get some nice cakes on the day.

0:13:05 > 0:13:06Can you bake any cakes for us?

0:13:06 > 0:13:08Oh, I can do some cakes, yes.

0:13:08 > 0:13:11Have you any idea at all, Beryl, what we're actually doing it for?

0:13:11 > 0:13:13It's a special person or something?

0:13:13 > 0:13:17It is, yes. He has two young girls who have a genetic disorder.

0:13:17 > 0:13:20Well, I know what that's like because I had a disabled daughter.

0:13:20 > 0:13:23- Sometimes you...you hit...bottom. - Bottom.

0:13:25 > 0:13:27You never know who you're going to meet

0:13:27 > 0:13:30and it's wonderful to see how generous people are

0:13:30 > 0:13:32when they know who it's for.

0:13:32 > 0:13:35- Is it a couple of cushions? - Chuck 'em out.

0:13:35 > 0:13:37- Are they...? Are they any good? - Lovely!

0:13:37 > 0:13:39Oh, take them, then.

0:13:39 > 0:13:42- Lovely!- Well, stick some more in the bag!

0:13:42 > 0:13:44Use your head, man!

0:13:44 > 0:13:45HE LAUGHS

0:13:47 > 0:13:49Danny can't seem to put a foot wrong today.

0:13:49 > 0:13:54And down the road, Izzy's got lucky, finding a donation on the street.

0:13:54 > 0:13:56I'm feeling so, so chuffed with myself.

0:13:56 > 0:13:59You see this panelling quite often in sort of Edwardian

0:13:59 > 0:14:00turn-of-the-century furniture.

0:14:00 > 0:14:04Such a find, absolutely made my day.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06That should fetch us £5-£10 on a stall.

0:14:06 > 0:14:10Now, what's Danny up to in Beryl's husband's garage?

0:14:11 > 0:14:12Look at them two little irons.

0:14:12 > 0:14:14Well, again, you see,

0:14:14 > 0:14:17those are useful for whites when I'm doing little jobs.

0:14:17 > 0:14:22- Can we have one?- You see, whatever I've got here, I do in fact use.

0:14:22 > 0:14:25Yes. Can we have one, Ron, because there's two there...?

0:14:25 > 0:14:27- Oh, give him one!- I can see...

0:14:27 > 0:14:28Shut him up!

0:14:30 > 0:14:32Do you realise...these were my grandmother's

0:14:32 > 0:14:34and I'm 92...?

0:14:34 > 0:14:36- You're not 92.- So, how old is this?

0:14:36 > 0:14:37He's 93 this month.

0:14:37 > 0:14:40- So, how old is this? - And it was your grandmother's?

0:14:40 > 0:14:43- Yes.- Ooh, so, that would be, erm...

0:14:43 > 0:14:45- So, that's got to be...- About 150...

0:14:45 > 0:14:48- Well... Yeah.- She lived to 95.

0:14:48 > 0:14:51- It's in the blood.- You can have that little case up there, if you like.

0:14:51 > 0:14:55- Very persuasive person, I must say. - He is, yes.- I'm a what, sorry?

0:14:55 > 0:14:57- Very persuasive person.- He's worked hard on us, hasn't he?

0:14:57 > 0:15:01- Yes.- I'm not going to open it to see if there's any jewels in it.

0:15:01 > 0:15:04If there's any jewels in it, it's mine.

0:15:04 > 0:15:06Whatever's in there, you can keep.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08Give us a kiss.

0:15:08 > 0:15:10- He's never satisfied!- I know!

0:15:10 > 0:15:12It's all for a good cause.

0:15:12 > 0:15:14Looks like you've made a couple of friends there, Danny,

0:15:14 > 0:15:17and found some great bric-a-brac.

0:15:17 > 0:15:21What the real cream is, is this little iron, it's a real antique.

0:15:21 > 0:15:24Dating back to the late 19th century,

0:15:24 > 0:15:28back in the days where you used to have to put this on a hot fire

0:15:28 > 0:15:31just to get it warm, and then you press away.

0:15:31 > 0:15:34Now, is Izzy seeking some divine intervention?

0:15:34 > 0:15:36- ..that will be helpful. - Oh, books, thank you.

0:15:36 > 0:15:39I couldn't work out what that was from the side there.

0:15:39 > 0:15:41- A bit of a surprise. - We have our street party,

0:15:41 > 0:15:44- which I think we're doing at the church.- That's it, yes.

0:15:44 > 0:15:46So, I'm hoping you're fully on board.

0:15:46 > 0:15:47- I am indeed, yes.- Excellent.

0:15:47 > 0:15:49- I've put the request out for cakes and things.- Brilliant.

0:15:49 > 0:15:51So, hopefully we should get some home-made cakes.

0:15:51 > 0:15:53- That's what I want to hear. - Absolutely!

0:15:53 > 0:15:56With Dave the vicar singing from our hymn sheet,

0:15:56 > 0:15:59it's time to see if we can get Paul involved, too.

0:15:59 > 0:16:02I'm a little bit nervous. Here goes.

0:16:04 > 0:16:05It's all up to you now, Danny.

0:16:07 > 0:16:09He's just round the garage.

0:16:09 > 0:16:12Erm, we've had a bit of a problem, he's had a bit of a bump on the car.

0:16:12 > 0:16:15He's on the phone to the insurance.

0:16:15 > 0:16:17- He'll be back in a minute, though. - What does that mean,

0:16:17 > 0:16:18- we've got to talk quick?- Yeah!

0:16:20 > 0:16:22Is this the rummage items?

0:16:22 > 0:16:24- Yeah.- So, we'll go around here, just in case he comes in,

0:16:24 > 0:16:26and it looks like we're talking about the rummage gear.

0:16:26 > 0:16:29How is the secret going, is it still being kept...?

0:16:29 > 0:16:33So far, yeah. And it's not easy to lie to him, I must admit.

0:16:33 > 0:16:37- But, yeah.- Do you think you're going to be able to keep it a secret?

0:16:37 > 0:16:39- Yeah, I think so. - You think so - you hope so.

0:16:39 > 0:16:42Well, yeah, pretty much. At the moment we're OK, so, yeah.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45As long as the girls don't know. If the girls know, that's it.

0:16:45 > 0:16:47- Sure.- Because they're just... You know. Not deliberately.

0:16:47 > 0:16:49- No!- They'd just let it out, yeah.

0:16:49 > 0:16:51- Is that the door?- Yeah. - I'll tell you what,

0:16:51 > 0:16:53we'll be talking about this because I don't want him to...

0:16:53 > 0:16:57- OK.- Hello, sir.- There are some things in the garage, yes.

0:16:57 > 0:17:00- How are you?- I'm all right, yeah. You?- Yeah, very well, thank you.

0:17:00 > 0:17:03Nice to see you. It seems like you've donated an awful lot.

0:17:03 > 0:17:07Lisa was telling me that you're involved with West Bromwich Albion.

0:17:07 > 0:17:08- Yeah, the foundation.- Yeah, so

0:17:08 > 0:17:12I wonder if I can get a signed shirt off one of the top goal-scorers,

0:17:12 > 0:17:15- or...?- I don't know about that. They've all gone on holidays now, haven't they?

0:17:15 > 0:17:18- Don't worry about that.- I could make a call and see what I could do.

0:17:18 > 0:17:20You could call and see what you could do, of course you can.

0:17:20 > 0:17:24I don't know if I can get anything, I don't want to promise something.

0:17:24 > 0:17:28- What have you got in that garage for me?- I don't know, it's a mess!

0:17:28 > 0:17:29That is MY cup of tea!

0:17:31 > 0:17:32What a great guy!

0:17:32 > 0:17:36Even while dealing with the stress of sorting out his car insurance,

0:17:36 > 0:17:38Paul is still so willing to help us

0:17:38 > 0:17:41and he's got some great bits out of his garage, too.

0:17:41 > 0:17:44I nearly forgot my dartboard! Thank you very much, Paul.

0:17:44 > 0:17:45- No worries.- And don't forget,

0:17:45 > 0:17:48you still owe me a West Bromwich Albion signed T-shirt.

0:17:48 > 0:17:50I'm going to look for my team now, so we can take this away.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55What a great guy!

0:17:55 > 0:17:59And as far as I'm concerned, I have not given the game away.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01He hasn't got a clue what's going on.

0:18:02 > 0:18:03You got away with it!

0:18:03 > 0:18:05He's definitely none the wiser

0:18:05 > 0:18:07and let's hope it stays that way.

0:18:07 > 0:18:10Back on the street, donations are still coming in.

0:18:10 > 0:18:13I bought it with ambitions to wear it, but...

0:18:13 > 0:18:14- Not your style?- I'm a bit too big.

0:18:14 > 0:18:16Oh! Thank you. Your loss is our gain.

0:18:16 > 0:18:18Thank you very much.

0:18:18 > 0:18:21Danny has caught back up with Andrew from earlier,

0:18:21 > 0:18:23but there seems to be some confusion.

0:18:24 > 0:18:27As you went down the road, he come past in the van, so I shouted.

0:18:27 > 0:18:30- I've got a couple of other things. - Oh, give us a couple of little bits.

0:18:30 > 0:18:32- That chap in the... - That chap in the van -

0:18:32 > 0:18:33did you tell him it was for Danny?

0:18:33 > 0:18:35No, I just... I just...

0:18:36 > 0:18:39There's a big competition going on here.

0:18:39 > 0:18:40- Oh, right! - You know, I want all the...

0:18:40 > 0:18:43Well, I give him about five or six boxes.

0:18:43 > 0:18:46Our team seem to have beaten Danny to it!

0:18:46 > 0:18:48You should have waited for me!

0:18:48 > 0:18:50That was the chap, actually, yeah.

0:18:50 > 0:18:53Excuse me! And whose stuff is that?

0:18:53 > 0:18:54- Who's it for?- Danny.

0:18:56 > 0:18:58So, I'll have you remember that, that's MY stuff.

0:18:58 > 0:19:00- Are you sure, Michael?- Absolutely.

0:19:00 > 0:19:04- And it's mine!- Danny's, OK. It's Danny's.

0:19:04 > 0:19:05Not Izzy's - Danny's.

0:19:05 > 0:19:06That will do - you're my man!

0:19:08 > 0:19:10- Izzy...- This is MY house!

0:19:10 > 0:19:12I'm fully aware that this is your side, but...

0:19:12 > 0:19:15- I've knocked on this door.- Well, there seems to be a problem, Izzy,

0:19:15 > 0:19:18because the chap came over to me earlier on, he gave me a print,

0:19:18 > 0:19:21- and he said come back later. - And you didn't...

0:19:21 > 0:19:22So, you're collecting for me?

0:19:22 > 0:19:25- Aw, Danny...!- No, I'm not collecting for you! He favoured me.

0:19:25 > 0:19:28He knew your name, but he said, "These are for Danny."

0:19:28 > 0:19:32So, those five boxes are mine. But I'll tell you for what, though,

0:19:32 > 0:19:34- you can have that.- Oh! - We don't like electricals.

0:19:34 > 0:19:37- You can have that.- Thank you. - I've got work to do.

0:19:38 > 0:19:43Once the girls were diagnosed, Paul decided to leave a job in sales

0:19:43 > 0:19:46and now works for the Albion Foundation,

0:19:46 > 0:19:50a charity linked to the local football club, West Bromwich Albion.

0:19:50 > 0:19:54The charity provides sport, education and disability programmes.

0:19:54 > 0:19:59The teachers of the school that Paul visits know how vital his help is.

0:19:59 > 0:20:05He's just full of enthusiasm, patience, understanding,

0:20:05 > 0:20:08and he's just a real asset to our school life.

0:20:10 > 0:20:13Their responses and reactions to the activities under Paul

0:20:13 > 0:20:17has increased phenomenally. He doesn't see the child's disability.

0:20:17 > 0:20:19He sees the child for the child.

0:20:19 > 0:20:21I think Paul...

0:20:22 > 0:20:23..fantastic.

0:20:23 > 0:20:27Paul encourages the disabled community to take part in sports,

0:20:27 > 0:20:30to help build their confidence and achieve things that are,

0:20:30 > 0:20:33for them, massive milestones.

0:20:33 > 0:20:35I think it takes a certain individual

0:20:35 > 0:20:39to work with individuals who have got learning disabilities

0:20:39 > 0:20:41and some that have got challenging behaviour.

0:20:41 > 0:20:43Paul deals with that really, really well.

0:20:43 > 0:20:45They all enjoy the sessions.

0:20:45 > 0:20:47There's nobody that doesn't want to do it!

0:20:47 > 0:20:50Paul is nice man.

0:20:50 > 0:20:52He's all right. He's a good friend.

0:20:52 > 0:20:54They're not allowed on the site before six

0:20:54 > 0:20:57and they'll be there from 3:30, 4pm, waiting around, waiting to go in.

0:20:57 > 0:21:01And it's just the most important thing in their life, so...

0:21:01 > 0:21:04if that's what we're doing, then that's hugely important.

0:21:05 > 0:21:08Paul also fundraises for the Williams Syndrome Foundation

0:21:08 > 0:21:12through hiking challenges and running half-marathons.

0:21:12 > 0:21:16He also raises money for the schools he works so closely with.

0:21:16 > 0:21:18He's supported us, raising lots and lots of money

0:21:18 > 0:21:20for equipment for our children.

0:21:20 > 0:21:22So, yeah, he does over and above.

0:21:22 > 0:21:24Paul's a bit of a hero.

0:21:24 > 0:21:27He also saved a man's life when he collapsed at a sport session.

0:21:29 > 0:21:34Paul did CPR on the guy for goodness knows how long,

0:21:34 > 0:21:37until the ambulance could get there and take over,

0:21:37 > 0:21:41and I know that family are eternally grateful to him for that.

0:21:41 > 0:21:43He really is an inspirational man

0:21:43 > 0:21:46and does so much good in and around the community here.

0:21:48 > 0:21:53Back on the street, Izzy is hoping a local gardener has time to help.

0:21:53 > 0:21:55- Have a word with the missus if you like.- That would be brilliant.

0:21:55 > 0:21:57You're a hero, thank you.

0:21:57 > 0:22:01Good maker. See you soon. Bye-bye. Thank you, bye-bye.

0:22:01 > 0:22:04I've just been given this wristwatch.

0:22:04 > 0:22:06Now, we do have...

0:22:07 > 0:22:09..what is known as baguette cut.

0:22:09 > 0:22:12Long, narrow, rectangular-cut stones.

0:22:12 > 0:22:13These are baguette cut.

0:22:13 > 0:22:16These were very, very popular during the 1920s.

0:22:16 > 0:22:18They retail at about £50.

0:22:18 > 0:22:21That's a top quality item for the bric-a-brac stall.

0:22:21 > 0:22:24With one final push, Danny risks everything.

0:22:24 > 0:22:25Anybody there?

0:22:25 > 0:22:27DOG BARKS

0:22:27 > 0:22:28Cor!

0:22:29 > 0:22:31That were quick! Phew!

0:22:31 > 0:22:34And a few last donations come in.

0:22:34 > 0:22:36Thanks very much, thank you. Bye-bye.

0:22:36 > 0:22:37Thanks very much.

0:22:37 > 0:22:39- All right, then.- Pleasure.

0:22:39 > 0:22:40Cheers, bye-bye.

0:22:43 > 0:22:44The day's rummaging is complete,

0:22:44 > 0:22:46and it's time for Danny and Izzy

0:22:46 > 0:22:49to decide which items to send to a sale room

0:22:49 > 0:22:53to hopefully get the best price to add to our total.

0:22:53 > 0:22:56I'm going to be honest with you, Izzy, I've been quite lucky today.

0:22:56 > 0:22:59I fell on my feet. Talk me through what you found today.

0:22:59 > 0:23:02One of my best finds is the corner cabinet.

0:23:02 > 0:23:05- Very nice.- Some little girls' shoes, we've got some books...

0:23:05 > 0:23:07I mean, as you can see, it was hard work.

0:23:07 > 0:23:09- A little bit thin.- Yes.

0:23:09 > 0:23:10Not a huge amount there,

0:23:10 > 0:23:13but luckily, it looks like Danny's got more.

0:23:13 > 0:23:16That's quite nice, we've got a book case.

0:23:16 > 0:23:17Needs a bit of work doing to it.

0:23:17 > 0:23:21I've got a feeling that that might work for upcycling.

0:23:21 > 0:23:22I agree, Danny.

0:23:22 > 0:23:25That's lovely as well, this rocking chair.

0:23:25 > 0:23:27Tools, I've got loads of tools - they're always good sellers.

0:23:27 > 0:23:29Yes, and some nice vintage ones as well.

0:23:29 > 0:23:32Antique hand tools are collector's items.

0:23:32 > 0:23:35Good ones can be worth a few hundred pounds.

0:23:35 > 0:23:38I actually really like the iron, the Victorian iron, I think that's fab.

0:23:38 > 0:23:40Danny's certainly got a great haul,

0:23:40 > 0:23:44but will Izzy's star item swing things in her favour?

0:23:44 > 0:23:47- What do you reckon? - Well, it looks very expensive.

0:23:47 > 0:23:50- Retails at about £50. - Done well there, Izzy.

0:23:50 > 0:23:52Have I managed to sort of pull back a bit of...?

0:23:52 > 0:23:53Well, I think you have, yeah.

0:23:53 > 0:23:55That's a great find.

0:23:55 > 0:23:58But what's Danny got up his sleeve as HIS star item?

0:23:58 > 0:23:59Looks like a box to me.

0:23:59 > 0:24:00Well, it is just a plain box.

0:24:00 > 0:24:03As you can see, it's got great dovetailing.

0:24:03 > 0:24:05I like it, Danny, it's very, very sweet, isn't it?

0:24:05 > 0:24:06Got a bit of age to it as well.

0:24:06 > 0:24:08I think we should upcycle that.

0:24:08 > 0:24:10And together with the bookcase to upcycle,

0:24:10 > 0:24:13we'd hope to make about £40-£50.

0:24:15 > 0:24:17I mean, you've just got at least three times as much as me.

0:24:17 > 0:24:20- Does that mean I'm the winner? - Danny, it means you're the winner.

0:24:20 > 0:24:22I suppose now, Izzy, all we need to know is,

0:24:22 > 0:24:24what's going to go to saleroom?

0:24:24 > 0:24:27Maybe the tools as a job lot

0:24:27 > 0:24:29and probably the rocking chair.

0:24:29 > 0:24:31Yes, yes, I think they're good choices.

0:24:31 > 0:24:34With just Paul's dartboard for the pop-up auction,

0:24:34 > 0:24:36we're going to really have to rely on more donations

0:24:36 > 0:24:37coming in on the day.

0:24:37 > 0:24:41But at least we do have some quality bric-a-brac for Danny to sell.

0:24:41 > 0:24:45I am trusting you to do your very, very, very best with it.

0:24:45 > 0:24:47Promise me you're going to get good prices for this.

0:24:47 > 0:24:49I promise you, Izzy, I'll get some good prices.

0:24:49 > 0:24:52Hopefully we'll make the target.

0:24:52 > 0:24:54I hope so, Danny. But I think this auction day

0:24:54 > 0:24:57is going to be touch and go.

0:25:00 > 0:25:02It's the morning of the street auction.

0:25:02 > 0:25:04We've got all hands on deck...

0:25:04 > 0:25:06- A bit more than that, Julia. - ..to set out the stalls...

0:25:08 > 0:25:12..and hang the bunting. And I can't do this by myself, so luckily

0:25:12 > 0:25:14Danny and Izzy are taking it in turns

0:25:14 > 0:25:16to help me with the pop-up auctions.

0:25:16 > 0:25:18I'm doing a grand job, aren't I?

0:25:18 > 0:25:20And today, it's Danny's turn.

0:25:20 > 0:25:22That's a good-looking lot.

0:25:22 > 0:25:24Now, Izzy's not here today,

0:25:24 > 0:25:27but I tell you what, you've both done a good job,

0:25:27 > 0:25:28you really have. It's a good start.

0:25:28 > 0:25:29They were very generous here.

0:25:29 > 0:25:32- What's this, a dartboard?- Dartboard. - PAUL LAUGHS

0:25:32 > 0:25:35- Look at that.- I was thinking that might go on your pop-up.

0:25:35 > 0:25:36I think so as well.

0:25:36 > 0:25:37180!

0:25:39 > 0:25:41I think we'd better get on with it, Danny, we've got a lot to do.

0:25:41 > 0:25:43And it's going to be boiling hot today,

0:25:43 > 0:25:45so I think...

0:25:45 > 0:25:48- You got a new hat?- No, I'm just going to stand in the shade!

0:25:51 > 0:25:54It's time for me to round up the troops,

0:25:54 > 0:25:58or rather the local Air Cadets, who've come to volunteer.

0:25:58 > 0:26:01Good morning, everyone. Thank you so much for helping us out.

0:26:01 > 0:26:03I feel like I should salute you all.

0:26:03 > 0:26:05You look fantastic.

0:26:05 > 0:26:07- You all live in the area? - Yep. We're Brownhills born and bred.

0:26:07 > 0:26:11Good for you. OK, who's going to be in charge of teas and coffees?

0:26:11 > 0:26:12- Three of you?- Yeah. - I'll do that, if you want.

0:26:12 > 0:26:14- Yeah. Yes.- Can you do that?

0:26:14 > 0:26:17All of this is top secret, absolutely top-secret.

0:26:17 > 0:26:21The person we are doing this for is helping us out today.

0:26:21 > 0:26:23We mustn't let him know, OK?

0:26:23 > 0:26:26Otherwise the game's up. I'm relying on you, Ash!

0:26:31 > 0:26:33Sell hard and sell fast, and enjoy yourself.

0:26:33 > 0:26:34We need the money.

0:26:34 > 0:26:36As our volunteers get to work,

0:26:36 > 0:26:40I'm meeting up with a friend of Paul's, who's in on our secret

0:26:40 > 0:26:42and knows how much he does to help others.

0:26:42 > 0:26:45What do you think Paul will make of all of this?

0:26:45 > 0:26:47I think he'll be absolutely overwhelmed.

0:26:47 > 0:26:50He's a very humble man, and he won't be expecting this,

0:26:50 > 0:26:53and I think he might be a little bit embarrassed. I might get into...

0:26:53 > 0:26:55- It's going to be a great surprise. - It will be.

0:26:55 > 0:26:57He's coming along later anyway,

0:26:57 > 0:27:01- so he's bound to start asking even more questions.- Yes.

0:27:01 > 0:27:03- Well, look, good luck, good luck. - Thank you.

0:27:03 > 0:27:04This is looking really, really positive.

0:27:05 > 0:27:09Talk of the devil. Here he is, arriving with yet more donations,

0:27:09 > 0:27:12including a signed West Brom football shirt.

0:27:12 > 0:27:14Danny will be pleased.

0:27:14 > 0:27:17Ooh, lovely! So, we'll put that on Paul's pop-up rostrum, won't we?

0:27:17 > 0:27:19- Yeah.- And hopefully get a good amount for that.

0:27:19 > 0:27:21Yes. And I've got three pairs of tickets as well.

0:27:21 > 0:27:23Absolutely fabulous!

0:27:23 > 0:27:27- These were donated.- Paul, you are an absolute diamond, mate.- OK.

0:27:27 > 0:27:28Great work, Danny.

0:27:28 > 0:27:30He's still none the wiser.

0:27:31 > 0:27:33While Danny's busy sorting the bric-a-brac

0:27:33 > 0:27:36and setting up the rostrum...

0:27:36 > 0:27:39- Hey!- ..more donations are coming in.

0:27:39 > 0:27:40- Are you a golfer?- I used to be!

0:27:40 > 0:27:44- You used to be.- Not any more. - I wish I'd played golf.

0:27:44 > 0:27:46I'd know what I was selling!

0:27:46 > 0:27:49But what I do know about is furniture,

0:27:49 > 0:27:51and Danny's got something to show me.

0:27:51 > 0:27:55Danny, our upcycled items, I can hardly recognise them.

0:27:55 > 0:27:58This bookcase, it was full of cobwebs, it was full of dirt.

0:27:58 > 0:28:00To put it politely, it was a real rough piece.

0:28:00 > 0:28:03But it's solid wood, 1930s, and I tell you what,

0:28:03 > 0:28:06they've done an absolutely fantastic job on it, haven't they?

0:28:06 > 0:28:10Yeah, they have, actually, yeah. I like the sort of palatable colours,

0:28:10 > 0:28:11it's quite nice and soft.

0:28:11 > 0:28:14So, that's good. Hopefully there's £20 there.

0:28:14 > 0:28:15And that looks a bit different.

0:28:15 > 0:28:17Nice dovetailing on the sides, as you can see.

0:28:17 > 0:28:20It's been waxed, it's been sanded.

0:28:20 > 0:28:23I like the through dovetails, you know, they're not stopped dovetails.

0:28:23 > 0:28:25You can see the end grain on them, so they go right through,

0:28:25 > 0:28:27which is the traditional technique from, let's say,

0:28:27 > 0:28:29the early part of the 17th century.

0:28:29 > 0:28:32I won't be disappointed at 15 and I'd be very happy at 30.

0:28:32 > 0:28:35It sounds like you're covering yourself there, Paul!

0:28:36 > 0:28:39With everyone working hard to make the stalls look enticing...

0:28:39 > 0:28:42You're not going in there, are you?

0:28:42 > 0:28:44- I've had my arm twisted.- Dave...

0:28:44 > 0:28:47I can see the people of Brownhills really getting into the spirit.

0:28:47 > 0:28:50Now, look, there's room for two.

0:28:50 > 0:28:51Yeah.

0:28:51 > 0:28:53With a bit of persuasion.

0:28:53 > 0:28:54I'm worried, I'm...

0:28:54 > 0:28:57Danny! Oh, no, don't, this is cruel!

0:28:57 > 0:28:58This is absolutely cruel!

0:29:00 > 0:29:01Ooh!

0:29:01 > 0:29:04That was unlucky. That was a bad shot, that was!

0:29:04 > 0:29:05What great sports!

0:29:05 > 0:29:09And with more and more donations coming in, I'm feeling positive.

0:29:09 > 0:29:12The plant stand looks fantastic!

0:29:12 > 0:29:13Look at that!

0:29:13 > 0:29:15And I love this as well!

0:29:15 > 0:29:17We're going to need all of this

0:29:17 > 0:29:19because we want everybody today to dig deep.

0:29:19 > 0:29:21That's what it's all about.

0:29:21 > 0:29:23The crowds have turned out in their numbers

0:29:23 > 0:29:26and it's time for the grand opening.

0:29:26 > 0:29:29Ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for turning up today.

0:29:29 > 0:29:31This is what I call people power.

0:29:31 > 0:29:35Let's get this party started, shall we, with a five...

0:29:35 > 0:29:38- ALL:- Four, three, two, one...

0:29:38 > 0:29:40Here we go, it's now or never!

0:29:40 > 0:29:42Good luck.

0:29:49 > 0:29:51It's time for the selling to start and, within moments,

0:29:51 > 0:29:54I've got a buyer for Bob's hall seat.

0:29:54 > 0:29:56I noticed you've been looking at this, haven't you?

0:29:56 > 0:29:59- I have, yes. How much is it? - You've got £10 in your hand.

0:29:59 > 0:30:00- I have, yes. - Can we call that a deal?

0:30:00 > 0:30:03- Is that all right?- Yes.- Thank you. - We'll shake on that.

0:30:03 > 0:30:05We'll shake on that, I won't go back on it.

0:30:05 > 0:30:08In fact, it's so busy, I've been drafted in as a stallholder.

0:30:08 > 0:30:11Thank you. £5, there you go, brilliant.

0:30:11 > 0:30:13How about £5?

0:30:13 > 0:30:16- Can I keep ten?- Yes, you can. - Oh, bless you.

0:30:16 > 0:30:18I'm really getting into this now.

0:30:18 > 0:30:21It's really lovely because it's got an Art Nouveau look.

0:30:21 > 0:30:23- Yes.- Almost that Glasgow School to it.

0:30:23 > 0:30:26And Danny's finding the selling just as easy as I am.

0:30:26 > 0:30:28- £7.- £7.

0:30:28 > 0:30:30I'll give you £10.

0:30:30 > 0:30:32- Ooh, even better!- OK.

0:30:32 > 0:30:34Even better! That's lovely.

0:30:34 > 0:30:35Well, so far, so good.

0:30:35 > 0:30:37People are spending money.

0:30:37 > 0:30:39Now, over my shoulder, you can see Paul.

0:30:39 > 0:30:41He's standing there by the West Brom stand,

0:30:41 > 0:30:44so I'm going to go and have a chat to him, hopefully.

0:30:44 > 0:30:47Wish me luck because I don't want to give anything away.

0:30:47 > 0:30:49- What's your name?- Paul.- Brilliant name. I'm a Paul, as well.

0:30:49 > 0:30:51- Yes.- What's your name?- Sam.

0:30:51 > 0:30:53- Ashlee.- Ashlee, I love your hat!

0:30:53 > 0:30:55- And I love your... - Isabel, nice to meet you.

0:30:55 > 0:30:56Oh, pleased to meet you guys!

0:30:56 > 0:30:59- Where's your daddy, then? - My dad's here.

0:30:59 > 0:31:01Oh, I see, right. Sorry, Dad, I didn't know that.

0:31:01 > 0:31:03So obviously you're all West Brom fans, then?

0:31:03 > 0:31:05- ALL:- Yeah.- Yeah?

0:31:05 > 0:31:07When you guys score a goal, how do you celebrate?

0:31:07 > 0:31:08- BOTH:- We go...

0:31:08 > 0:31:10Oink, oink, oink!

0:31:10 > 0:31:12And I believe it was you that donated all of this,

0:31:12 > 0:31:14and some other things, when Danny was doing the rummage?

0:31:14 > 0:31:17Yeah, I mean, some of the stuff we've donated ourselves

0:31:17 > 0:31:19and some of it has come through the foundation.

0:31:19 > 0:31:21I'll be checking the floats, make sure they're full.

0:31:21 > 0:31:23- OK.- Yeah.- I'm relying on you two.

0:31:23 > 0:31:24- Yep.- Because otherwise there will be no...

0:31:24 > 0:31:26Hey, hey, hey, hey!

0:31:26 > 0:31:27Oink, oink, oink, oink.

0:31:27 > 0:31:31Phew! I don't think Paul has a clue all of this is for him!

0:31:31 > 0:31:33Fingers crossed we keep it that way.

0:31:33 > 0:31:35Now Danny's doing a double-take...

0:31:35 > 0:31:37See you later, Felicity.

0:31:37 > 0:31:39Nice to meet you. Oh, that's Felicity.

0:31:39 > 0:31:40- You're...- No, I'm Felicity.

0:31:40 > 0:31:42- No, you're Fel...- She's Tiffany.

0:31:42 > 0:31:43That's what I mean.

0:31:43 > 0:31:46..before finding a buyer for Ron's antique iron...

0:31:46 > 0:31:48- It's a bit heavy?- It's a bit...

0:31:48 > 0:31:50Yeah. It's a bit heavy, as well.

0:31:50 > 0:31:52Lovely. That will do.

0:31:52 > 0:31:55With the party in full swing, I'm going to meet Rich Hooper,

0:31:55 > 0:31:58whose father's life Paul saved.

0:31:58 > 0:32:01My dad was doing a light coaching session. They had a short break.

0:32:01 > 0:32:05During the break, my dad collapsed, so Paul started performing CPR until

0:32:05 > 0:32:07the ambulance crew arrived.

0:32:07 > 0:32:10- Wow!- He did everything right that day.

0:32:10 > 0:32:12The more I hear about the work he does with the foundation and the

0:32:12 > 0:32:16community, it's just a testament to the type of person he is.

0:32:16 > 0:32:18What would have happened if Paul wasn't there that day?

0:32:18 > 0:32:20He would have been dead, you know,

0:32:20 > 0:32:21no-one would have got to him quick enough.

0:32:21 > 0:32:25He's got no brain damage and it's like it never happened.

0:32:25 > 0:32:27- Wow!- So it's a miracle, really.

0:32:27 > 0:32:29What a fantastic story.

0:32:29 > 0:32:31Oh, thank you very much.

0:32:31 > 0:32:32Oh, thank you very much.

0:32:32 > 0:32:35Paul is a hero without a doubt and well-loved here,

0:32:35 > 0:32:38if Danny's donations are anything to go by.

0:32:38 > 0:32:39Oh, thank you very much.

0:32:39 > 0:32:41- You're welcome, sir. - Let me give you a kiss for that.

0:32:41 > 0:32:44I've met someone who has brought along something rather special.

0:32:44 > 0:32:46Oh, that's really sweet.

0:32:46 > 0:32:48Was that yours when you were a kid?

0:32:48 > 0:32:50No, it was my two daughters'.

0:32:50 > 0:32:51It's '50s, isn't it?

0:32:51 > 0:32:53It's 51 years old.

0:32:53 > 0:32:57The first rocking horses dated back to the 17th century,

0:32:57 > 0:32:59when wooden ones first appeared in Europe.

0:32:59 > 0:33:03This is a great mid-20th century one and vintage stuff is really on

0:33:03 > 0:33:04trend at the moment.

0:33:04 > 0:33:06I like it a lot.

0:33:06 > 0:33:09Oh, can we sell this on our pop-up rostrum?

0:33:09 > 0:33:13- Yes, you can.- It's got that look, it's got the retro look.

0:33:13 > 0:33:15I'd love to get £30-40 for that.

0:33:15 > 0:33:16- Yeah, I hope you do.- Yeah.

0:33:17 > 0:33:20I'm geed up and Danny's found a buyer for Bob's lamp.

0:33:20 > 0:33:22How much did you buy that for?

0:33:22 > 0:33:24- £5.- I tell you what, you've done well there.

0:33:24 > 0:33:27And he's found Ron and Beryl from the rummage day.

0:33:27 > 0:33:30Jigsaw puzzles and puzzles and the iron and everything -

0:33:30 > 0:33:32we've sold them. They're gone.

0:33:32 > 0:33:35So on that note, I'm going to get out there and try and push it a little bit.

0:33:35 > 0:33:39- Oh, yes. You've got to do your work. - I've got to do my bit and I'll see you a bit later.- Yeah.

0:33:39 > 0:33:40Nice to see you.

0:33:40 > 0:33:41There's still lots left to sell.

0:33:41 > 0:33:44I'm worried we're not going to make our target.

0:33:44 > 0:33:46We need one last push.

0:33:46 > 0:33:50Right now, we have ten minutes left before we close the stalls,

0:33:50 > 0:33:55so everything on the stalls is just 50p, OK?

0:33:57 > 0:33:58With a mad rush of buying,

0:33:58 > 0:34:02I'm taking the opportunity to have a quick chat with Lisa.

0:34:02 > 0:34:04Has he twigged anything?

0:34:04 > 0:34:05He hasn't twigged, no,

0:34:05 > 0:34:08simply because it's being billed as a work thing.

0:34:08 > 0:34:10- He's going to be in for a good surprise.- I know.

0:34:10 > 0:34:13- How is he going to take it?- Er, well, you might reduce him to tears.

0:34:13 > 0:34:14I don't know. I don't know.

0:34:14 > 0:34:16Well, you know him better than we do.

0:34:16 > 0:34:18I know, yeah. I don't know.

0:34:18 > 0:34:21Well, look, I really hope that he takes this so well.

0:34:21 > 0:34:24- He will, I'm sure he will.- And doesn't blame you lot for fibbing

0:34:24 > 0:34:27- and telling lies.- He can't blame me because it's got nothing to do with me!

0:34:27 > 0:34:30Great to see the secret is still safe.

0:34:30 > 0:34:33I just hope Danny doesn't let slip to Isabel.

0:34:33 > 0:34:35You had a hat on a minute ago, didn't you?

0:34:35 > 0:34:37Yeah. I left it on the table.

0:34:37 > 0:34:39I see somebody else, she looks very much like you.

0:34:39 > 0:34:40- Yeah.- Who's that?

0:34:40 > 0:34:42Ashlee, my sister.

0:34:42 > 0:34:43Oh, is it? Have you got a sister?

0:34:43 > 0:34:45- Yeah.- She looks very much like you.

0:34:47 > 0:34:50Since I announced everything was 50p, look at that,

0:34:50 > 0:34:52they all went mad and bought the plants...

0:34:52 > 0:34:55Except for this spade, so do you know what I'm going to do?

0:34:55 > 0:34:56I'm going to sell that on the rostrum.

0:34:58 > 0:35:01While we tot up the money, don't forget,

0:35:01 > 0:35:05we sent a few items to the sale room and here's how they got on under

0:35:05 > 0:35:07auctioneer Gavin Aplin's hammer.

0:35:07 > 0:35:10First up, it's the collection of tools Danny found.

0:35:10 > 0:35:13A collection of vintage and sort of contemporary gardening tools,

0:35:13 > 0:35:16you see them all there. Ten, I've got 12, I've got now 14.

0:35:16 > 0:35:17Come back, please.

0:35:17 > 0:35:20At £12, chasing 14 and 16, please.

0:35:20 > 0:35:22At 14, after 16.

0:35:22 > 0:35:24At £14, after 16.

0:35:24 > 0:35:25At £14...

0:35:27 > 0:35:30What a shame. I was hoping for at least £30.

0:35:30 > 0:35:34Now it's the rocking chair that has a lovely look of Ercol about it.

0:36:12 > 0:36:16- 780.- Which gives us a total of just over £800.

0:36:16 > 0:36:20£804. So that's quite a way off of 1,200.
