:00:03. > :00:13.against Australia. That is on Sports Day at 6. 30pm. Now on BBC News,

:00:13. > :00:51.

:00:51. > :00:58.Hello and welcome to the programme 1990s to view it through is certain

:00:58. > :01:08.that Stone Roses tinted spectacles. Finally, can Brad Pitt save the

:01:08. > :01:22.

:01:22. > :01:26.choice. This is one of the most longest drawn-out trilogies. They

:01:26. > :01:31.wandered around Vienna falling in love. They were in their 20s then.

:01:31. > :01:37.In 2004, he picked up with them in their 30s in Paris. They had a Will

:01:37. > :01:41.they, won't they romance? They fell in love. Did they or didn't they or

:01:41. > :01:48.doesn't say is the end of that? We don't know. We pick up again nearly

:01:48. > :01:58.20 years on and we are in the Southern Penelope 's increase. -- 11

:01:58. > :02:06.

:02:06. > :02:11.together. What about me would you change? I'm not answering that.

:02:11. > :02:15.There's not one thing you'd like to change about me? I'm perfect?

:02:15. > :02:22.actually, if I could change one thing about you it would be for you

:02:23. > :02:26.to stop trying to change me. You are a very skilled manipulator. I know

:02:26. > :02:31.how you work. You think?I know everything about you. Let's go

:02:31. > :02:37.through here. I don't think you do actually. No? I know you better than

:02:37. > :02:43.I know anybody else on the planet. Right now, this is great, I feel

:02:43. > :02:46.close to you but sometimes don't know, I feel like you are breathing

:02:46. > :02:52.helium and I'm breathing oxygen. What makes you say that? And just

:02:52. > :02:56.being myself. That's exactly what I'm talking about. If we were ever

:02:56. > :03:04.going to truly know each other, we would have to get to know ourselves

:03:04. > :03:08.better first. Greece looks nice. I had an English teacher at school

:03:08. > :03:15.when we did Romeo and Juliet. One of the characters and says the trouble

:03:15. > :03:18.is, everyone else is Mercutio. And looking at that, I'm not really

:03:18. > :03:24.bothered. Nothing much happens in this movie

:03:24. > :03:32.except all life is there. One walks and talks with 1's partner, one

:03:32. > :03:36.argues with 1's partners over the stupid list things. Do we need to go

:03:36. > :03:41.to the cinema to see other people arguing about the stuff we argue

:03:41. > :03:44.about it? I think that we do. If you follow the couple over the three

:03:44. > :03:50.films, you have become invested and you foist your own feelings onto

:03:50. > :03:58.them. You think, I've done that before and I'm with her, I'm with

:03:58. > :04:01.him. There are things they say. You know the characters. There is an

:04:02. > :04:06.amazing re-creation of reality through this walking and talking.

:04:06. > :04:10.Some of my famous -- most favourite movies are people just walking

:04:10. > :04:15.around and falling in love. Do you think a lot of people would

:04:15. > :04:17.be walking around tonight and she will be saying let's go and see this

:04:17. > :04:20.and the bloke will say something else?

:04:20. > :04:30.People will come out of this arguing. There is enough bloke in

:04:30. > :04:40.this as well. You made a good case for it.

:04:40. > :04:42.

:04:42. > :04:46.The Stone Roses... Their pension funds have been swollen by their

:04:46. > :04:50.tours and also they had two films out, made about them. Shane Meadows

:04:50. > :04:55.had a documentary the other week about the band getting back

:04:56. > :05:02.together. Spike Island is a new British coming-of-age comedy about

:05:02. > :05:12.four lads in Manchester in 1990, getting to their heroes famous gate

:05:12. > :05:13.

:05:14. > :05:17.near Widnes. They went to desperately get in to see their

:05:17. > :05:23.idols and jump over the fence and get in. They want to see this

:05:24. > :05:28.mythical gig. I rather like this film. They capture the japes of

:05:28. > :05:38.youth, the fund that one has with 1's mates. The film is good when the

:05:38. > :05:39.

:05:39. > :05:42.boys are together, and their banter is good. It is all about the coming

:05:43. > :05:46.together and having a laugh with your mates sort of thing. The less

:05:47. > :05:51.successful part of the film is when they try to deepen the characters

:05:52. > :05:56.back stories and give a sick parent or bullying brother. I just want

:05:56. > :05:59.them to go to the gigs, have a laugh and recreate the 90s.

:05:59. > :06:07.Do you have to like the Stone Roses to like this?

:06:07. > :06:11.Not really. The point is they want to see the Stone Roses, not... You

:06:11. > :06:15.have to live through the 90s and had some friends. A lot of people have

:06:15. > :06:25.done that. For many people, the big film this

:06:25. > :06:32.

:06:32. > :06:42.weekend will be World War Z. I am sticking with the pronunciation of

:06:42. > :06:47.

:06:47. > :06:56.zed. Why don't we be British and call it zed?

:06:56. > :06:59.The Z stands for zombie. Everybody is a zombie in this film. The world

:06:59. > :07:07.has been infected. Everyone is eating each other. Can Brad Pitt

:07:07. > :07:17.save us? Yes, he can. He's a movie star. You save anyone. -- he can

:07:17. > :07:24.

:07:24. > :07:32.best investigator in the UN. We will send you in. Help the doctor to find

:07:32. > :07:36.whatever it is he needs. I cannot help you. I can't leave my family.

:07:36. > :07:40.Take a look around you, Mr Lane. Each and every one of these people

:07:40. > :07:44.are here because they serve a purpose. There is no room here for

:07:44. > :07:52.nonessential personnel. You want to help your family? Let's figure out

:07:53. > :07:56.how we stop this. It's your choice. I read one review which says this is

:07:56. > :08:05.the Newsnight of zombie films and I thought is that a compliment? I'm

:08:05. > :08:06.not sure! Shaun of the dead was a great zombie film but this lacks

:08:06. > :08:16.humour. Shaun of the dead is interesting...

:08:16. > :08:20.

:08:21. > :08:24.. What this does do, it's not zombies walking along like that,

:08:24. > :08:29.they are voracious in their appetite. I don't know what zombie

:08:29. > :08:35.movies are supposed to do any more. It has been an allegory for

:08:35. > :08:37.consumerism previously. We are over that now. Brad Pitt seems to be

:08:37. > :08:44.immune from the zombies because he is too famous to be eaten by

:08:44. > :08:54.zombies. There would be no movie without him. Nobody else is famous

:08:54. > :09:01.

:09:01. > :09:08.in this film. I quite enjoyed the film. Brad Pitt, we don't see enough

:09:08. > :09:18.of him. He is a great actor. His handsome, cool movie star. -- he is

:09:18. > :09:21.

:09:22. > :09:26.handsome. The zombies are a little bit stupid in this film. Intelligent

:09:26. > :09:30.zombies would be good. This lot are easy. The fact that the world has

:09:30. > :09:40.been overrun by this is interesting. There are pockets of survivors and

:09:40. > :09:42.

:09:42. > :09:50.they want to get back to their family.

:09:50. > :09:59.Behind the Candelabra... Great performances from Michael Douglas

:09:59. > :10:02.and Matt Damon. The film is a good story that has a sadness that is

:10:02. > :10:08.about prosthetics and cocaine and the 70s, none of those things are

:10:08. > :10:12.good apparently. Your DVD choice, Hitchcock, I love

:10:12. > :10:15.that. I thought Anthony Hopkins was great in it. Helen Mirren is great

:10:15. > :10:22.as well. I thought this was a good little film about making movies.

:10:22. > :10:28.It's about Hitchcock making Psycho in the 60s in Hollywood. It's

:10:28. > :10:31.playful about the movies. He doesn't look like Hitchcock but by the end

:10:31. > :10:37.you believe he is Hitchcock. There is a playful Sunday afternoon

:10:37. > :10:40.matinee feel to this film. I thought it was terrific and fun.

:10:40. > :10:43.And his obsession with the Scarlet Johansson character which was borne
