:00:15. > :00:23.Hello and welcome to The One Show with Matt Baker and Alex Jones.

:00:24. > :00:32.Our guests tonight are giants in the world of cinema. Shah Rukh Khan and

:00:33. > :00:36.Kajol caused pandemonium everywhere they go. It is fair to say the

:00:37. > :00:41.chances are that you might not have heard of them. By the end of the

:00:42. > :00:49.show you certainly will have. First, here is Tommy Sandhu to put you in

:00:50. > :01:00.the picture. This is the new one from Dilwale, playing on the BBC

:01:01. > :01:05.Asian network. The king of Bollywood arrives in the UK to talk about his

:01:06. > :01:09.new film. Shah Rukh Khan is renowned for his on-screen versatility. He

:01:10. > :01:14.can dance, he plays a mean action hero and a dashing romantic lead. In

:01:15. > :01:20.a career spanning 25 years, he has made over 80 films and is worth an

:01:21. > :01:24.estimated ?400 million. Despite his global popularity, the chances are

:01:25. > :01:34.that you may not have heard of him. I don't know, I have no idea who

:01:35. > :01:39.that is. A banker, politician? I've seen him in things come I don't know

:01:40. > :01:45.his name. What kind of welcome is that? The man himself, straight off

:01:46. > :01:52.the plane. Welcome, everyone. Welcome to London. How are you

:01:53. > :01:57.feeling? I'm feeling good. I'm feeling better, looking at you. Is

:01:58. > :02:09.it OK if The One Show and the BBC hang out with you? Minutes later, he

:02:10. > :02:12.is whisked away in a low-key motor. Destination? Unknown. Fingers

:02:13. > :02:17.crossed, we are hoping to catch up with him soon. Keep an eye on the

:02:18. > :02:22.Rolls-Royce. I soon get wind he's heading to the studios of This

:02:23. > :02:26.Morning. We have managed to get backstage, while we wait for Shah

:02:27. > :02:29.Rukh Khan, apparently on his way. Here are some interesting facts

:02:30. > :02:37.about him. He owns his own cricket team in India, the Kolkata Knight

:02:38. > :02:42.Riders. These which included him in a list of the 50 most powerful

:02:43. > :02:49.people in the world. In 2010, he took on a dramatic role as an

:02:50. > :02:54.Asperger's sufferer in My Name Is Khan. As things wrapper on This

:02:55. > :02:59.Morning, what do you ask the world's biggest movie star? When you

:03:00. > :03:08.hear all of the admiration, how does it feel? I get embarrassed. Just

:03:09. > :03:12.like that, he's off. My last chance to grab an intimate moment with the

:03:13. > :03:15.king of Bollywood is amongst 50 other journalists at a press

:03:16. > :03:22.conference for his new film, Dilwale. Me and my wife really need

:03:23. > :03:26.this film. The strap line is, fall in love all over again. If she

:03:27. > :03:31.doesn't love me by the end of the film, do I get my money back?

:03:32. > :03:36.Absolutely, and I will give you some of my hairdo. Having said that, I

:03:37. > :03:42.promise you, this one will make you feel good about love. The promise is

:03:43. > :03:49.that the new film will be as good as the classic DDLJ.

:03:50. > :03:57.Tommy will be on his way later. Shah Rukh and Kajol are fighting through

:03:58. > :04:07.the crowds. In the meantime, we have sent him on a mission? Iwan, what is

:04:08. > :04:11.your mission this evening? To be quite tricky. I am in Alum Rock, in

:04:12. > :04:16.Birmingham, looking for a family with the name of Khan, in honour of

:04:17. > :04:21.our special guest, the world's most famous Khan, Mr Bollywood himself.

:04:22. > :04:25.If you recognise the area, come and grab me. I want to watch The One

:04:26. > :04:29.Show in your house, on your lovely sofa, you can get the opportunity to

:04:30. > :04:33.throw any questions you want to the guests. I need a cup of tea, please,

:04:34. > :04:37.by the time you come back to me, I'm going to knock on all of the doors

:04:38. > :04:41.and be inside. Hopefully I will get a signed photograph of the wonderful

:04:42. > :04:50.guests. If you live in this area, come and find me. I stand out. One

:04:51. > :05:05.hair, I'll see you shortly. We don't know what road you are an! We can

:05:06. > :05:09.see a lot of Road cones. There are a lot of kids hanging around, I been

:05:10. > :05:17.up and down, I had a nice dinner. If you recognise the road, come and

:05:18. > :05:22.join me. I need a brew. He's very friendly, hope somebody let him in.

:05:23. > :05:27.Looks like they have no choice, now! You must have noticed it is December

:05:28. > :05:32.the 1st today. Up and down the country, children of all ages are

:05:33. > :05:38.opening their advent calendars. You cannot beat a chocolate square for

:05:39. > :05:42.breakfast. Our Advent calendar has nothing in it as vulgar as

:05:43. > :05:46.chocolate. Shane! We have people in the windows. People for whom the

:05:47. > :05:50.holiday season will be very special. Tonight it's Alana Waterman

:05:51. > :05:52.and her husband Mark - they are celebrating their first

:05:53. > :06:03.year together as a married couple. Round of applause. They have been

:06:04. > :06:05.together since they were 15 years old and just moved into the new

:06:06. > :06:08.home. We'll be opening another window

:06:09. > :06:10.tomorrow and if you'd like to feature in our calendar go to

:06:11. > :06:20.our website for more information. Something we guarantee you won't

:06:21. > :06:22.find on our website are those annoying pop-up ads

:06:23. > :06:25.for free trials and amazing deals. But those fantastic offers often

:06:26. > :06:27.hide hidden traps designed to part us from our cash,

:06:28. > :06:40.Dr Sal has been to find out more. As a doctor, I'm never impressed by

:06:41. > :06:45.any of these online adverts for miracle health care products. Yet

:06:46. > :06:49.many of us are tempted by the free trial offers on anything from diet

:06:50. > :06:55.pills to skin creams. But there can be a downside. Signing up for these

:06:56. > :07:01.supposedly risk-free trials will do nothing for your health and could

:07:02. > :07:06.seriously harm your bank balance. Alison Fry from near Bristol learned

:07:07. > :07:13.to her cost that there is nothing free about some free trials. She

:07:14. > :07:17.ordered two pots of an anti ageing face cream, advertised as a

:07:18. > :07:22.scientific breakthrough. So, why these creams? They looked good, it

:07:23. > :07:26.said on the label, anti ageing. All you have to pay for was posted and

:07:27. > :07:31.packaging of ?6, give my credit card details and go from there. There is

:07:32. > :07:36.nothing on this particular page that suggests it is anything other than a

:07:37. > :07:41.free trial? It says it all over. Exactly, that is why I signed up.

:07:42. > :07:45.The website also directed customers to what looked like a Cosmopolitan

:07:46. > :07:51.magazine article, where TV presenter Holly Willoughby apparently swore by

:07:52. > :07:55.the cream. But behind those free trial claims lay a trap. Hidden in

:07:56. > :08:02.the small print, it allowed the company to help themselves to money

:08:03. > :08:08.straight from Alison's account. That is nearly ?92 every four weeks. You

:08:09. > :08:12.never agree to that? No. It is really like somebody dipping into

:08:13. > :08:17.your wallet without permission. Yes. They have taken out nearly ?180. We

:08:18. > :08:21.know of scores of customers like Alison who found money had been

:08:22. > :08:26.taken from their accounts without them realising they had given the

:08:27. > :08:30.company permission. Many people are just too embarrassed to appear on

:08:31. > :08:36.camera. We have spoken to 175-year-old woman who lost nearly

:08:37. > :08:43.?400 before she spotted what was going on. -- one 75-year-old woman.

:08:44. > :08:47.So-called free trials of slimming pills like these are costing UK

:08:48. > :08:51.consumers ?1 million each year. How are they getting away with it? Mike

:08:52. > :08:56.Andrews is in charge of the national trading standards prime team. It is

:08:57. > :09:00.what we would call a subscription trap. The official term is something

:09:01. > :09:03.called a continuous payment authority. Once you have given the

:09:04. > :09:09.authority to the business, that allows them to withdraw money out of

:09:10. > :09:14.your bank account almost at will, as often as they want, and any amount

:09:15. > :09:18.that they want. I've never even heard of a continuous payment

:09:19. > :09:22.authority, so how clued up are we about these free trial tracks? How

:09:23. > :09:26.much do you think you would be paying, if it says free trial?

:09:27. > :09:34.Well, free trial, you should be paying nothing. This company would

:09:35. > :09:40.then start to charge you ?90. I would be very shocked. ?90!? Surely

:09:41. > :09:44.that is theft? I have had money taken out of my bank account for

:09:45. > :09:48.something quite similar. It is quite disgusting. You didn't realise you

:09:49. > :09:53.were signing up for something? There is nothing on there that makes you

:09:54. > :09:57.aware of that. The hidden subscription trap is not the only

:09:58. > :10:01.thing that the face cream firm Aimee are being less than upfront about.

:10:02. > :10:06.Remember the Cosmopolitan article with Holly Willoughby? It was just a

:10:07. > :10:12.mock-up. Neither the magazine nor the presenter had anything to do

:10:13. > :10:18.with Aimee Age Correction. We have discovered the same company has

:10:19. > :10:21.links to dodgy diet pill offers that contain subscription traps. The

:10:22. > :10:25.company hides behind numerous addresses across the UK, including

:10:26. > :10:31.this one. But it is all just a front. The firm's bosses are

:10:32. > :10:35.actually based in Spain. We wanted to talk to them, but their offices

:10:36. > :10:39.in Bristol are closed and they failed to answer any requests for an

:10:40. > :10:44.interview. The good news is that there is a way out of these hidden

:10:45. > :10:49.subscriptions. The consumer can contact their bank or credit card

:10:50. > :10:55.issuer, advice and they want a continuous payment authority from

:10:56. > :10:59.continuing, they are obliged to stop the payment. The next time you see

:11:00. > :11:12.an advert with an good to be true, just been it. -- Aimee. Unbelievable

:11:13. > :11:16.that they used Holly's face. It is now time to welcome the Bollywood

:11:17. > :11:25.superstars who are Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

:11:26. > :11:33.We have been looking at images of what happens when you arrive places.

:11:34. > :11:39.That noise, that cheering and screaming, it is just normal? Cries

:11:40. > :11:46.of, we love you! That is just normal? It is just a very sweet,

:11:47. > :11:49.thank you very much, everyone. You have only been in Britain for six

:11:50. > :11:59.hours, thank you so much for joining us. Not at all, we apologise for

:12:00. > :12:03.being late. It was my doing. I'm a superstar. We didn't tell the

:12:04. > :12:07.audience, they were not aware of it. We put on a few films. We want to

:12:08. > :12:13.talk about your on-screen relationship. It started 20 years

:12:14. > :12:20.ago. 22, to be precise. In this movie that has been played in

:12:21. > :12:25.cinemas ever since. Families go, DDLJ, what was it about this movie?

:12:26. > :12:35.The relationship that you created is being called the hottest on-screen

:12:36. > :12:40.relationship ever. Wow! Some just fall into place. Neither of us knew.

:12:41. > :12:44.It was a first-time film director, we had just started out, four or

:12:45. > :12:49.five years ago. We were all just kind of starting out, everywhere.

:12:50. > :12:53.Nobody had any idea how good or how great the film would be, how long it

:12:54. > :12:58.would run. You know, if you watch the making, it is really funny. You

:12:59. > :13:05.can make out in the making, none of us had any clue that this was going

:13:06. > :13:09.to be shown so long. We were demented! People have seen it over

:13:10. > :13:15.and over again. For people that have not seen it, what is the actual

:13:16. > :13:22.story? It is set in London, actually. It is a bout a guy who

:13:23. > :13:28.comes down here, sees a girl on the trip. As you do! I can't stop liking

:13:29. > :13:32.her. But she is to be married to somebody else. The departing part of

:13:33. > :13:36.the film was that instead of it being the two against the world, the

:13:37. > :13:41.guy and girl decide, you know what, we will try to win the world over.

:13:42. > :13:45.It is very culturally significant to how India is. We say, you know what,

:13:46. > :13:48.we will not fight with our parents, jumped from a cliff and commit

:13:49. > :13:57.suicide, we will convince them that we are good for each other.

:13:58. > :14:02.Especially because you know, I order a beer, I'm a very, very bad boy in

:14:03. > :14:08.it! The Bollywood community are so excited about it, the new film is

:14:09. > :14:20.about to be released, Dilwale. It is billed as an action romance, and

:14:21. > :14:26.comedy. All bases covered! What can you tell us about it? The director

:14:27. > :14:29.has been making lots of successful films, action or comic, it is the

:14:30. > :14:35.first time he has taken us into the film, and he has tried to overlay it

:14:36. > :14:41.with a romantic angle. It is a new thing for him. He can't get over the

:14:42. > :14:48.action and comedy, he has that intact. Lots of cars flying around,

:14:49. > :14:51.lots! Is that good for you? Actually, it was really bad, there

:14:52. > :14:59.was a Bentley that got overturned. I felt so bad. I was having a heart

:15:00. > :15:04.moment, when I saw those cars, blowing up.

:15:05. > :15:10.We haven't been allowed to see it, but we have been lucky enough to get

:15:11. > :15:15.one of the videos, because there are these beautiful songs in it, and we

:15:16. > :15:19.have this lovely video of the Perak view in Iceland. Tell us what

:15:20. > :15:26.happens. It isn't top secret, we haven't completed it! We are still

:15:27. > :15:43.finishing it! Let's see it, let's have a look.

:15:44. > :15:58.It is just so relaxing, you get lost in that vibe. It wasn't relaxing

:15:59. > :16:06.there in Iceland at all. It was very cold. It was -5, and windy. And all

:16:07. > :16:13.these locations are things you might have seen in other films like

:16:14. > :16:18.Interstellar, and we said, let's go and shoot it there, it looks like it

:16:19. > :16:21.is some other planet. We have done the songs on every Mountain. Every

:16:22. > :16:27.beautiful location you can think of a nurse, we have done them all,

:16:28. > :16:32.Egypt, Switzerland. It was cold and windy and wet, and most of the time

:16:33. > :16:38.they had to touch up our noses because they were read throughout

:16:39. > :16:41.the song. As well as all of the landscapes of the beautiful scenes,

:16:42. > :16:47.we will be talking about what makes the perfect Bollywood movie a little

:16:48. > :16:52.later on. And Dilwale is released here and worldwide on the 18th of

:16:53. > :16:53.December. Every good film starts with a good

:16:54. > :16:56.script. David, brings us a story of one

:16:57. > :16:59.of the country's greatest novelists, Charles Dickens who,

:17:00. > :17:10.we reckon, would have loved Indian Death, so they say, is the great

:17:11. > :17:16.leveller. Even when it comes to the paperwork. This vast government

:17:17. > :17:24.archive contains the last will and testament of generations of ordinary

:17:25. > :17:27.British people, as well as the dying wishes of the great and good of

:17:28. > :17:30.British history. The Private life of the man whose will I am on the hunt

:17:31. > :17:37.for today would have made the perfect plot for one of his own

:17:38. > :17:40.stories. This was a writer whose novels made him famous across the

:17:41. > :17:45.world. He was the creator of some of the greatest characters of all time.

:17:46. > :17:52.In here is the last will and testament of Charles Dickens. He

:17:53. > :17:57.died aged 58 in 1869 a very wealthy man with an estate worth the

:17:58. > :18:01.equivalent of ?50 million today. And on the first page, he leaves money

:18:02. > :18:07.to all nine of his surviving children. But then at the bottom of

:18:08. > :18:11.page two, he writes of his wife, a woman he had been married to for

:18:12. > :18:18.over 30 years. I desire to simply record that my wife has been in

:18:19. > :18:25.receipt from me of an annual income of ?600. That is around a third of

:18:26. > :18:28.?1 million today. While all the great charges of a numerous and

:18:29. > :18:35.expensive Amelie have been devolved holy upon myself. -- expensive

:18:36. > :18:38.family. No thanks or expressions of affection. It is really harsh, just

:18:39. > :18:43.laying out of their financial settlement. What is most intriguing

:18:44. > :18:48.is that the very first person mentioned in the will is not his

:18:49. > :18:53.wife or a member of his family, it is one Miss Ellen Lawless Turner,

:18:54. > :18:59.who is left the sum of ?1000, that is around half ?1 million in today's

:19:00. > :19:04.money. Who is Miss Ellen Lawless Turner? What is she doing in his

:19:05. > :19:09.will? At the Charles Dickens Museum, his great-great-granddaughter,

:19:10. > :19:15.Lucinda Hawksley, reveals the scandalous answer. He fell and laugh

:19:16. > :19:20.with the young actress, Alan Turner. He was 45 when she was 18, and they

:19:21. > :19:24.began a relationship which until the end of his life 13 years later. So

:19:25. > :19:30.how does this affair in packed on the family? As his feelings for her

:19:31. > :19:35.grew, he pushed Catherine out of his life and had a legal separation

:19:36. > :19:39.drawn up. That explains why he gave Catherine the cold shoulder in his

:19:40. > :19:44.will. And his ruthless streak was also evident in the way he dealt

:19:45. > :19:48.with gossip about the affair. He went as far as publishing a

:19:49. > :19:53.statement in his magazine. I must solemnly declare that all lately

:19:54. > :20:00.whispered rumours are abominably false. He is so angry about it!

:20:01. > :20:02.Charles Dickens could not allow himself in that society to be seen

:20:03. > :20:11.as anything other than blameless. It would ruin him. And his reputation.

:20:12. > :20:18.Yes, and that Ellen, and he wanted to protect her. Dickens even went so

:20:19. > :20:23.far as to plan his own funeral with Ellen in mind, according to his

:20:24. > :20:30.biographer, Michael Slater. It was done at seven in the morning with

:20:31. > :20:32.minimal ceremony. You wouldn't know that there was necessarily a funeral

:20:33. > :20:38.taking place, and certainly not that it was one of the most famous men in

:20:39. > :20:40.England. In fact, The Times itself comments on this secrecy in the

:20:41. > :20:45.report of the funeral, because it says, not a single person was aware

:20:46. > :20:53.that that hearse was conveying to its last resting place all that was

:20:54. > :20:58.mortal of Charles Dickens. There were 14 people in those three

:20:59. > :21:04.coaches following the coffin, and only 13 people are named in The

:21:05. > :21:13.Times report. So who was number 14? It must have been Ellen. So he did

:21:14. > :21:17.find a way for her to attend? He wanted her to be at his funeral, and

:21:18. > :21:23.that would have been impossible if it was a big, public funeral. It is

:21:24. > :21:30.a wonderful Dickens plot in fact. His last and best plot, you could

:21:31. > :21:36.say. And listen, watch out for Dickensian

:21:37. > :21:43.en BBC One after Christmas. We went to the set, and it was lovely. We

:21:44. > :21:48.are going to try to find out what the keys are to making a successful

:21:49. > :21:54.Bollywood film, and Tommy is here again. Why should we all be watching

:21:55. > :21:59.Bollywood movies? Because of lovely couples like this!

:22:00. > :22:05.CHEERING These guys are being very humble and

:22:06. > :22:08.gracious, and that is fine, but they let us escape. That is what any good

:22:09. > :22:12.film is about, it is about escaping. And in Bollywood you get your

:22:13. > :22:18.money's worth, because you have music, dancing, action, a couple of

:22:19. > :22:23.love stories, and that is a principal!

:22:24. > :22:36.So, we have boxes here, and on each box, names of things that are key

:22:37. > :22:40.ingredients. I like death stare! In a big film, you need all of these

:22:41. > :22:51.elements. So I am going to ask you, one Shah Rukh -- Kajol, to pick one.

:22:52. > :23:03.Here we go. Let's talk about death stare. Look at the face! Death

:23:04. > :23:14.stare! He does it very well, by the way. It is the power stare, it is

:23:15. > :23:17.all about power. This is the disapproving father that doesn't

:23:18. > :23:27.want him to be with a daughter. The death stare wasn't mine. It is a

:23:28. > :23:34.double death stare! Can I choose roof jumping? How often does that

:23:35. > :23:40.happen? As often as possible, even if there isn't a roof! Just running

:23:41. > :23:46.and jumping. How many rooms have you jumped off

:23:47. > :23:53.during your career? I have had nine surgeries. I reckon about 16-20, and

:23:54. > :23:59.one of them about 160 feet long. Is that your favourite roof? That was

:24:00. > :24:03.the scariest one. I have done a lot of jumping on air and stuff, and

:25:25. > :25:28.we're talking about train jumping, I know one of your guys who does train

:25:29. > :25:34.jumping as well, who has just released a film, James Bond. And he

:25:35. > :25:40.gets all the chicks! Train jumping works, roof jumping works in every

:26:45. > :26:54.be making another comedy? A question to you, will you be making another

:26:55. > :26:57.comedy? Yes, most certainly. I will make another comedy, not yet, right
