0:00:18 > 0:00:23A little old lady went to the doctor. She said, I have sleeping
0:00:23 > 0:00:29pills for my husband? He said, why?, she said, because he has woken up.
0:00:29 > 0:00:32Hello and welcome to The One Show with Matt Baker.
0:00:32 > 0:00:33And Angellica Bell.
0:00:33 > 0:00:35And that was of course legendary comedian Sir Ken Dodd,
0:00:35 > 0:00:37who passed away last night in his Knotty Ash home
0:00:37 > 0:00:39at the age of 90.
0:00:39 > 0:00:42At the end of tonight's show, we'll be saying tatty-bye to the man
0:00:42 > 0:00:44who tickled us for years, with our own little
0:00:44 > 0:00:46tribute to Sir Ken.
0:00:46 > 0:00:53If you met him, send us your photos and we'll show some later.
0:00:53 > 0:00:56Also tonight, we'll be seeing how Alex and the mums got on open water
0:00:56 > 0:01:00swimming in Loch Ness during day one of the Mother of all Challenges.
0:01:00 > 0:01:07Think about that for a second. I can't swim.I couldn't do it. That
0:01:07 > 0:01:09is a good reason, apart from the cold!
0:01:09 > 0:01:17But first, what a line-up we have for you tonight.
0:01:18 > 0:01:23Three guests who have individually won Oscars, starred in one of
0:01:23 > 0:01:26America's best sitcoms and been called one of the most influential
0:01:26 > 0:01:33women on the planet.Put them together in a Disney film and they
0:01:33 > 0:01:38are literally out of this world.
0:01:38 > 0:01:39Please welcome Reese Witherspoon,
0:01:39 > 0:01:40Mindy Kaling
0:01:40 > 0:01:46and Oprah Winfrey.
0:01:46 > 0:01:58Welcome. Welcome back. Fellow. Oh,
0:01:58 > 0:02:07my word. Can we sit anywhere? Anywhere you want and have a drink.
0:02:07 > 0:02:14We have some margaritas for you.A margarita drinking show.You have
0:02:14 > 0:02:23been reading my mind. Are you not drinking? If you insist.Seriously.
0:02:23 > 0:02:29We heard it was a thing between you. It is a thing and we are all very
0:02:29 > 0:02:37good at it.Who started it?I like this, not too much sugar. This is
0:02:37 > 0:02:43good. This is done well, who made these?Remy, from the bar just
0:02:43 > 0:02:51across the road.Thanks, Remy.They are delicious. Keep them coming,
0:02:51 > 0:02:59Remy.I can imagine him walking across the street in the rain with a
0:02:59 > 0:03:08tray and the margaritas.Did you use freshly squeezed lime?Of course.
0:03:08 > 0:03:14You are here to talk about your Disney film, and we have been
0:03:14 > 0:03:18talking about how you have amazing careers but the pinnacle must have
0:03:18 > 0:03:25been when you had Barbie dolls created in your image. You laugh.
0:03:25 > 0:03:29Have you seen them? Mine is travelling with me. She is at the
0:03:29 > 0:03:38hotel. Do you like? Do I like her? I grew up as a young girl who could
0:03:38 > 0:03:43not afford Barbie dolls. To have a Barbie doll in the image of the
0:03:43 > 0:03:51character is fun. I will give her a special place in my house. I will
0:03:51 > 0:03:54treat it like sculpture. You have a baby girl and you can let her play
0:03:54 > 0:04:03with her.I have two. Did you have a favourite toy, a teddy bear?No. We
0:04:03 > 0:04:11were too poor for a teddy bear.I had a dirty blanket I dragged around
0:04:11 > 0:04:24like L. Its name was Nighty-night. She has a football team and you have
0:04:24 > 0:04:30a Nighty-night.I had a smelly blanket and Mindy has part of a
0:04:30 > 0:04:38football team.Let's talk about the magical, mystical characters. You
0:04:38 > 0:04:43play Mrs Who, Mrs Which, Mrs Whatsit.
0:04:43 > 0:04:50So, who's who, which is which and what's it all about?
0:04:50 > 0:05:00This is quite out there. It is. We are three celestial beings. We have
0:05:00 > 0:05:07different qualities. We have specifications. I am Mrs Who who
0:05:07 > 0:05:13speaks in quotations only and I am well read. Beautiful. Look gorgeous
0:05:13 > 0:05:23in the movie. I love the hair. I love the eyelashes. I
0:05:23 > 0:05:28love the eyelashes. I look like Twiggy.I am Mrs Which who has been
0:05:28 > 0:05:34around a long time and is the wisest woman in the universe and she
0:05:34 > 0:05:39travels different dimensions. She is 35 feet tall, 18 feet tall, she is
0:05:39 > 0:05:48in another dimension and forgot to shrink to come to see you. She helps
0:05:48 > 0:05:56to guide Meg. She is the young girl played so beautifully by Storm Reid.
0:05:56 > 0:06:04He was 13 when we started filming and is now 14.I play Mrs Whatsit.
0:06:04 > 0:06:10She is the youngest and a little cheeky. She is always making
0:06:10 > 0:06:15mistakes. This is her first mission and she wants to make Mrs Who and
0:06:15 > 0:06:18Mrs Which proud. She does things like pinches the children and calls
0:06:18 > 0:06:26the name. In a cheeky way. It is cute for kids to see a grown-up
0:06:26 > 0:06:33misbehaving.The kids laugh in the movie with that.My son is five and
0:06:33 > 0:06:40he thought it was so funny I kicked one of the children!I have a great
0:06:40 > 0:06:44niece who said she liked the best part is when I told you not to kick
0:06:44 > 0:06:49her because people should not kick other people. And I say, I did not
0:06:49 > 0:06:54know.I was reading one of your children were horrified you were
0:06:54 > 0:07:00playing this part because in the book they are old.My son had just
0:07:00 > 0:07:06read it in school. It is a popular book in America. I loved it. He read
0:07:06 > 0:07:15it. I said, they have offered me the part of Mrs Whatsit. He said, Ishii
0:07:15 > 0:07:204 billion years old? And I panicked. I had not read the book in a long
0:07:20 > 0:07:26time and when I have the meeting I said, is she going to be really,
0:07:26 > 0:07:33really old? I know I am over 40.But not...4 billion. The film is a
0:07:33 > 0:07:39magical adventure featuring something called tessering,
0:07:39 > 0:07:42travelling between dimensions and mysteriously missing father and some
0:07:42 > 0:07:47colourful wigs.
0:07:48 > 0:07:53colourful wigs.Tessering is perfectly natural.Almost.Wait,
0:07:53 > 0:08:00what is happening? No. Do not go over our there. No time to waste.
0:08:00 > 0:08:08Come on, Mrs Whatsit.
0:08:08 > 0:08:12Come on, Mrs Whatsit. You just have to find the right frequency and have
0:08:12 > 0:08:22faith in who you are.
0:08:30 > 0:08:33faith in who you are. Let's find your father.Shelby?
0:08:33 > 0:08:35APPLAUSE
0:08:38 > 0:08:47-- shall we?We have seen an example of tessering, when you go through
0:08:47 > 0:08:52different dimensions.The idea is wonderful. I think you actually do
0:08:52 > 0:08:59in your dreams. You go to different worlds.Have you had a flying dream?
0:08:59 > 0:09:05No, but I think I will after the film.I have a lot of flying dreams.
0:09:05 > 0:09:10You have to be in a good space to have flying dreams. You cannot have
0:09:10 > 0:09:15them when things are going wrong. As a viewer you can take so much away
0:09:15 > 0:09:19from this film, whatever you are going through in your own life.
0:09:19 > 0:09:25Mindy, what are the messages for you that strong? The message I respond
0:09:25 > 0:09:32to most, is one of my quotations. That is, the wound is where the
0:09:32 > 0:09:39light enters. I never thought about that but especially now I have a
0:09:39 > 0:09:43baby, you spend so much time protecting your loved ones but to
0:09:43 > 0:09:49know the wound is where the light enters, that was profound to me. You
0:09:49 > 0:09:53think of them as things that make you weaker and I love that.I love
0:09:53 > 0:10:01that quote. And at the beginning when Mrs Which appears and she is
0:10:01 > 0:10:05teaching Meg about tessering and she says you have to find your own
0:10:05 > 0:10:10frequency and have faith in who you are, and those words of wisdom for
0:10:10 > 0:10:16the world because everybody is worried about everyone else's
0:10:16 > 0:10:21frequency, especially today, social media, but you find your own flow
0:10:21 > 0:10:27and have faith in that. That is where you are supposed to be and the
0:10:27 > 0:10:31frequency takes you to the highest point of your life.It is evident
0:10:31 > 0:10:35all three of you have found the avenue to develop and express
0:10:35 > 0:10:42yourself. You have spoken openly about diversity on and off screen.
0:10:42 > 0:10:46This is a huge project, especially for the director, to direct this
0:10:46 > 0:10:55massive Disney film. You know Ava quite well? I think we all do now.
0:10:55 > 0:11:00It was a reason you wanted to be part of the film?Absolutely, she is
0:11:00 > 0:11:05one of the most important film-makers of our time. When people
0:11:05 > 0:11:11say no, she says, why not, I'm sorry, try harder. I am not
0:11:11 > 0:11:17compromising. It will be this way. That is how you have to be as a
0:11:17 > 0:11:22director, to change the stories we see you have to change the
0:11:22 > 0:11:26storytellers and Ava is an incredible example.And a visionary
0:11:26 > 0:11:31and the fact she was able to, and Disney gave her the opportunity and
0:11:31 > 0:11:37liberty to create her own world. She had not read the book before the
0:11:37 > 0:11:43script was offered and she then read the book and was allowed to create
0:11:43 > 0:11:48these incredible worlds and planets to look the way she imagined. I
0:11:48 > 0:11:54think when we first showed up, when I realised it was a big movie, was
0:11:54 > 0:12:02the first day I went for fittings and there were all the... I thought
0:12:02 > 0:12:12this is like cosmic couture. You entered into it not knowing it was a
0:12:12 > 0:12:18big movie?I knew it was a big movie but there were times when all of us
0:12:18 > 0:12:23were on a planet and we thought, where are we, what are we doing,
0:12:23 > 0:12:30what is happening? Ava was the North star. It was a big movie. I said yes
0:12:30 > 0:12:34because I wanted to hang out with Ava and I wanted to go to New
0:12:34 > 0:12:43Zealand. That is why I said yes and it worked out for me! As we started
0:12:43 > 0:12:48to work together I realised, this is like the Wizard of Oz for another
0:12:48 > 0:12:54generation. We will be
0:12:55 > 0:12:58generation. We will be remembered by young children. Somebody says, are
0:12:58 > 0:13:07you Mrs Which? I say no, I had a talk show, honey.
0:13:07 > 0:13:14talk show, honey. That I have been doing 25 years. While we are sitting
0:13:14 > 0:13:19chatting with these three inspirational women, we cannot
0:13:19 > 0:13:22forget our team of heroes busting a gut for Sport Relief.
0:13:22 > 0:13:25All this week, Alex and our marvellous mums are taking
0:13:25 > 0:13:26on the Mother of all Challenges.
0:13:26 > 0:13:28Here's how they did on their first day -
0:13:28 > 0:13:33swimming Loch Ness.
0:13:33 > 0:13:37It is mother's day and we are up bright and early and there are mixed
0:13:37 > 0:13:50feelings.It is exciting!Yes, it is. I love your positivity. This
0:13:50 > 0:13:57morning, Jodie is worried she has done her neck in.How does it feel?
0:13:57 > 0:14:04I can do this and get to there. But there are nice surprises also.
0:14:04 > 0:14:16Wishing you luck on Mother's Day.It is home-made.
0:14:16 > 0:14:25is home-made. Debbie gets a message from her girls.Happy Mother's Day!
0:14:25 > 0:14:30The thought of getting into the very cold water is affecting us in
0:14:30 > 0:14:37different ways. In Debbie's case it is a signature hot flush.Are you
0:14:37 > 0:14:44hot now? It is horrible.I have never wished for the menopause, but
0:14:44 > 0:14:49I sort of do now! Arriving at Loch mess we realised it was a privilege
0:14:49 > 0:14:53to swim here. The key is to focus on the scenery.
0:14:53 > 0:14:55Let's think of the positives. It is
0:14:55 > 0:14:55The key is to focus on the scenery. Let's think of the positives. It is
0:14:55 > 0:15:00not snowing.
0:15:00 > 0:15:04not snowing.Surprisingly, our first challenge is not the cold waters, it
0:15:04 > 0:15:11is getting into our wet suits.I feel like a sausage.This must be
0:15:11 > 0:15:18worth 50 quid, getting the wet suit on.For our mothers it is a tough
0:15:18 > 0:15:25start to the week.I feel I am walking to the gallows.In a relay
0:15:25 > 0:15:32format they will swim about a mile. I am nervous about it. If it was a
0:15:32 > 0:15:37couple of degrees colder, it would be iced over.Every stroke will be
0:15:37 > 0:15:46like every contraction we had. One more we do not have to do again. To
0:15:46 > 0:15:52Loch Ness and any monsters living there, let's go.As soon as you are
0:15:52 > 0:15:55submerged in cold water you hyperventilate and that can be a
0:15:55 > 0:15:58problem because as you hyperventilate you can take on a lot
0:15:58 > 0:16:04of water.
0:16:04 > 0:16:09of water. It was a real struggle, but I just refused to give up.
0:16:09 > 0:16:14CHEERING I just feel brilliant. I just
0:16:14 > 0:16:22thought I was going to let them down. It is Leigh's turn next.Water
0:16:22 > 0:16:28strips heat so hypothermia can create all sorts of problems. And
0:16:28 > 0:16:30Leigh and struggled with her breathing during training does fill
0:16:30 > 0:16:46the strain but pushes through.Yes! I want to be you when I'm older!
0:16:46 > 0:16:52Jodi takes over from Leigh next.I would have wanted to be my mummy if
0:16:52 > 0:17:00there was a lock knife monster in the swimming thing...Our mums with
0:17:00 > 0:17:03an expert team who will look after them but what it does mean, makes it
0:17:03 > 0:17:06incredibly challenging. This is not just about swimming, this is about
0:17:06 > 0:17:12coping with the environment as well. Despite her neck problems, Jodi
0:17:12 > 0:17:20maintains her focus and makes it to the red bouy.I'm just so relieved,
0:17:20 > 0:17:26I was like go, go, go. My shoulder started giving up. I was like legs
0:17:26 > 0:17:31the whole way.At the midway point, Debbie takes to the water. The cold
0:17:31 > 0:17:38wasn't an issue for Debbie, it was the water coming into her goggles.
0:17:38 > 0:17:42They are all there giving it their best, and that's the key. If they
0:17:42 > 0:17:45come together as a team, they can support each other and that's when
0:17:45 > 0:17:55success will come. Our mum hates the cold. If super Mayan has -- Superman
0:17:55 > 0:18:00has kryptonite, our mum has cold.
0:18:04 > 0:18:14Yes!Yes!We did it! First challenge complete and its
0:18:14 > 0:18:20teamwork that did it. We have a long way to go, so please support us and
0:18:20 > 0:18:27give what you can. Thank you. APPLAUSE
0:18:27 > 0:18:32Huge congratulations. Oprah, I read that one of your many pleasures is
0:18:32 > 0:18:41Beijing.
0:18:41 > 0:18:46Beijing. -- bathing. For them to whether that, how do they do that?
0:18:46 > 0:18:48They are strong mums!
0:18:48 > 0:18:50Tomorrow, the Mother of all Challenges continues.
0:18:50 > 0:18:54Alex and the team will be embark on a day long hike towards
0:18:54 > 0:18:54the summit of Helvellyn.
0:18:54 > 0:18:57They're doing this to raise money for Sport Relief, of course,
0:18:57 > 0:19:02so if our guests wouldn't mind, here's how you can donate.
0:19:02 > 0:19:03Reese.
0:19:05 > 0:19:07To support the Mother of All Challenges and make
0:19:07 > 0:19:10a donation to Sport Relief, you can donate £5 by texting

0:19:11 > 0:19:19To donate £10 pounds text the word MUM to 70210.
0:19:19 > 0:19:23And listen, you want to be generous? Come on.
0:19:25 > 0:19:28And you can donate £20 by texting the word MUM to 70220.
0:19:28 > 0:19:31Texts will cost your donation plus your standard network message
0:19:31 > 0:19:33charge and all of your donation will go to Sport Relief.
0:19:33 > 0:19:36You must be 16 or over and please ask the bill payer's permission.
0:19:36 > 0:19:39For full terms and conditions, or to donate any amount online,
0:19:39 > 0:19:43go to bbc.co.uk/sportrelief.
0:19:47 > 0:19:53Speaking of mothers, Mindy, congratulations!Thank you.APPLAUSE
0:19:53 > 0:20:00How has it been, have you taken to it?It's wonderful, she has a lot of
0:20:00 > 0:20:04personality, only three months old. You had a different announcement, it
0:20:04 > 0:20:07was announced in the world... Someone else took it upon
0:20:07 > 0:20:14themselves...It was sort of leaked in the US...Tell me, did I do this?
0:20:14 > 0:20:20People keep saying to me I did it, did I do it?Yes. This is what
0:20:20 > 0:20:23happened...LAUGHTER My pregnancy was showing so people
0:20:23 > 0:20:28started assuming I was pregnant and then you spread it but I hadn't
0:20:28 > 0:20:34confirmed it, mostly for vanity's steak. I told Oprah almost
0:20:34 > 0:20:38immediately at a press event at Disney World, I was either, the
0:20:38 > 0:20:41motions and told them. I think you said in an interview or something,
0:20:41 > 0:20:45and are excited for Mindy and her baby, and so confirming. They
0:20:45 > 0:20:50tricked you. They said you must be excited for Mindy and her baby.Did
0:20:50 > 0:20:55I know that was a trick question? Until this minute! They got
0:20:55 > 0:21:03confirmation from new.You made up for it.How?With this amazing gift.
0:21:03 > 0:21:08I adore Mindy and have such regard for her. We used to say Mindy,
0:21:08 > 0:21:12during outbreaks would go in, Mindy's in the trail of writing a
0:21:12 > 0:21:15new play. Mindy's in the trail of writing another book, writing a new
0:21:15 > 0:21:20script. I wanted to honour that but what I really wanted to do, in the
0:21:20 > 0:21:25movie Mrs Who is in this tree house filled with books. What I really
0:21:25 > 0:21:29wanted to do but wasn't able to because I saw by the time I spoke to
0:21:29 > 0:21:33so many people the child would be in college!LAUGHTER
0:21:33 > 0:21:38I was trying to build a tree house are you good place books all in the
0:21:38 > 0:21:43tree has built. I ended up having to do a small little castle.Just a
0:21:43 > 0:21:49small little home-made castle.And send books to her.The 100
0:21:49 > 0:21:53essentials.Go through them going would she like this, would you like
0:21:53 > 0:22:01that?What did they say?Each was embossed with Catherine's book club.
0:22:01 > 0:22:06So if she ever decides to go into business...!LAUGHTER
0:22:06 > 0:22:12Mindy, you sound incredibly busy. Reese, you're also very busy as an
0:22:12 > 0:22:15executive producer. The other production company. She is starting
0:22:15 > 0:22:23the season two.Season to work Big Little Lies on Friday.CHEERING AND
0:22:23 > 0:22:26APPLAUSE We are very excited. You have to get
0:22:26 > 0:22:32yourself up to date with this.There are a lot of good surprises.And a
0:22:32 > 0:22:38big name?A big name, Meryl Streep is joining us. Very exciting. She
0:22:38 > 0:22:43plays Alex's mother who comes back to town and wonders how her son
0:22:43 > 0:22:48mysteriously died. She doesn't trust any of us. It is just fun. It is
0:22:48 > 0:22:53really great. I created a production company about seven years ago.Why
0:22:53 > 0:22:58did you do that?I saw parts for women in Hollywood were lacking,
0:22:58 > 0:23:01they were very flat and lacked nuance and I thought, gosh, if I'm
0:23:01 > 0:23:07not interested, I called some of my colleagues and they weren't getting
0:23:07 > 0:23:10interesting parts either. I thought, I read a tonne of books, I might as
0:23:10 > 0:23:14well by some of the and turn them into movies. I started with a book
0:23:14 > 0:23:23called Wild men Blonde Girl. And Then Big Little Lies.Amazing! You
0:23:23 > 0:23:30Know What... Let's Just Do This.No One's Ever Heard Of It!Just A
0:23:30 > 0:23:36Little Movie.I Was Excited, The First Two Movies Got Three Oscar
0:23:36 > 0:23:39Nominations The Three Women. It Was Important To Me Because It Was Not
0:23:39 > 0:23:44Just About Creating Characters that... I just wanted to show women
0:23:44 > 0:23:49are complex and different and have so many different dynamics. I felt
0:23:49 > 0:23:50really proud I was able to accomplish something for someone
0:23:50 > 0:23:55else.This woman packs a lot of power. I have said this may have
0:23:55 > 0:23:59both heard me say this. I didn't know... You won't pregnant when we
0:23:59 > 0:24:06were filming? No.They were mothers but every day, we were doing make up
0:24:06 > 0:24:10for 3-4 hours every day and then had a long, long, long hours and a lot
0:24:10 > 0:24:14of blue screen star. At the end of the day, the last thing you do is go
0:24:14 > 0:24:22in the trailer and take off your wigs. Got to take my wigs off! And
0:24:22 > 0:24:26getting all the make-up. As we were doing it, I would think, OK, I'm
0:24:26 > 0:24:31going to go back to the hotel and them bottle of bad wine with the cap
0:24:31 > 0:24:35on it.LAUGHTER Can put my feet up and she's going
0:24:35 > 0:24:40to go home, she's walking out the same door I walk out and now she
0:24:40 > 0:24:44steps into another role of being a mother. When you've worked 14 hours
0:24:44 > 0:24:48a day, now you've got to walk in, your kids don't care that you worked
0:24:48 > 0:24:5214 hours a day, they don't care what you did, they don't care if you are
0:24:52 > 0:24:55hanging from the ceiling. I just had such respect and regard for people
0:24:55 > 0:25:02who can raise their children, do the work, and still remain present for
0:25:02 > 0:25:06all of it. I think that's huge, you know? You all the years I was doing
0:25:06 > 0:25:11my show...APPLAUSE People showed up every day in the
0:25:11 > 0:25:15audience...This is the thing with you, Oprah. You managed to nail it
0:25:15 > 0:25:19every time you speak. At the Golden Globes, people were talking after
0:25:19 > 0:25:23that. I think you turned down the fact he want to run for president.I
0:25:23 > 0:25:28will not be running!
0:25:29 > 0:25:32will not be running! It's not happening, not happening!The point
0:25:32 > 0:25:36is people want you to do it. So how does it feel, when you know that are
0:25:36 > 0:25:40a lot of people who do believe that you are the key to their future?Do
0:25:40 > 0:25:45you know what it feels like? Like a big reward. Like when you win
0:25:45 > 0:25:51something or you get a claim from your colleagues -- train from your
0:25:51 > 0:25:55colleagues. When you get a claim from people whose opinions you
0:25:55 > 0:25:59respect, and most people say, good on you, you are doing a good job. It
0:25:59 > 0:26:03says you are moving in the right direction in your life and in your
0:26:03 > 0:26:08work. So it feels very life affirming that I might, that not
0:26:08 > 0:26:13might, I have lived my life in such a way that people have enough
0:26:13 > 0:26:19respect and trust and confidence in me that I could do that. But I feel
0:26:19 > 0:26:25that this lesson for running for office is an important lesson for
0:26:25 > 0:26:29everyone when anyone is pulling on you for anything. Whether you are 18
0:26:29 > 0:26:32graduating from high school and your mum and dad want you to go to a
0:26:32 > 0:26:35certain school when you know in your heart that is not what you want to
0:26:35 > 0:26:39do, or your relatives, your friends, your bosses, everyone has their idea
0:26:39 > 0:26:45of what it is you are supposed to become inside each of us, it's the
0:26:45 > 0:26:49story of this movie on what each of us are trying to teach Meg, you are
0:26:49 > 0:26:52enough and inside yourself you know what your truth is. And it is your
0:26:52 > 0:26:57job, that is really the only job you have, to follow that thing that
0:26:57 > 0:27:00leads you to the best place for you. They doesn't matter how many people
0:27:00 > 0:27:05are saying it. Believe me, I have great respect that people think I
0:27:05 > 0:27:09could.Oprah, thank you so much. LAUGHTER
0:27:09 > 0:27:16We are a live show that has brought us halfway to end! APPLAUSE

0:27:40 > 0:27:40little happiness.
0:27:40 > 0:27:43Goodbye Doddy.
0:27:43 > 0:27:47I think laughter is the most beautiful sound in the world. Music
0:27:47 > 0:27:50is beautiful, but laughter is absolutely fantastic, marvellous,
0:27:50 > 0:27:55wonderful. A wonderful, wonderful sound, the sound of an audience,
0:27:55 > 0:28:01lovely. Until we meet again, God bless you
0:28:01 > 0:28:07all and lots and lots of happiness! # Happiness, happiness, the greatest

0:28:19 > 0:28:22My dad always used is said to me, you must always be original, there
0:28:22 > 0:28:27can only be one of everyone. So I capitalised on the teeth and hair
0:28:27 > 0:28:32and said I'm the only one that can eat a tomato with a tennis racket. A
0:28:32 > 0:28:36lady went to the doctor said Doctor, doctor, I have more sleeping pills
0:28:36 > 0:28:40for my husband? He said why? She said, he woke up!
0:28:40 > 0:28:44Audiences are different. I was at Leeds the other morning and
0:28:44 > 0:28:48said to a man, can you help me out he? He said yes, which way did you
0:28:48 > 0:28:54come in? I can tell you what they laugh in
0:28:54 > 0:29:00Yorkshire, Devon, Essex. Nobody knows what they laugh at in London.
0:29:00 > 0:29:04You cannot make people laugh, you can only give people laugh. Laughter
0:29:04 > 0:29:09is inside you. All you do as a comedian is touched the spring of
0:29:09 > 0:29:12laughter. Ladies and gentlemen, this is what I
0:29:12 > 0:29:17call a theatre. A place we can sleep in comfort.LAUGHTER
0:29:17 > 0:29:26And you will, I promise you! # The time has come to say good
0:29:26 > 0:29:28night # For every road must end
0:29:28 > 0:29:32# To the ones that care and are always there
0:29:32 > 0:29:38#I performed all over Europe and in America.
0:29:38 > 0:29:41I will be absolutely truthful. There is nowhere better than knotty Ash.
0:29:41 > 0:29:49My heart, my mind, it is all here in Knotty Ash. When I was about four or
0:29:49 > 0:29:58five I wanted to be a hero. I'm still doing my best!
0:29:58 > 0:30:04# As we go down the road of life # Sometimes we raced too fast
0:30:04 > 0:30:11# And as we chase the future... Thank you, thank you for all the
0:30:11 > 0:30:20love and affection, support. Yet, and advice, sometimes.
0:30:20 > 0:30:27I can do it, I will do it and I do it just for you.
0:30:27 > 0:30:29# Absent friends...
