0:00:15 > 0:00:17Hello and welcome to The One Show with Matt Baker.

0:00:17 > 0:00:18And Alex Jones.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21Our guests tonight are the heads of two families with a lot

0:00:21 > 0:00:24on their plate this Christmas.

0:00:24 > 0:00:28He's the leader of the notorious Brannings of Albert Square.

0:00:28 > 0:00:32She's the March family matriarch in a new TV version of the classic

0:00:32 > 0:00:33book "Little Women".

0:00:33 > 0:00:36And together they're the stars of Boxing Day telly.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39It's Jake Wood and Emily Watson!

0:00:42 > 0:00:51CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Welcome, both.

0:00:51 > 0:00:56So the Perov you are the headlines for boxing night.Yes, Christmas

0:00:56 > 0:01:01Day, EastEnders and Day.So where will you both be watching, or will

0:01:01 > 0:01:07you indeed be watching?I'm going to be on the road, driving, visiting

0:01:07 > 0:01:18relatives.Jake Connor please tell us that the Trail is going out at

0:01:18 > 0:01:23the moment are total wind-up and it's going to be joy and light, a

0:01:23 > 0:01:29lovely nativity scene?Walford? Possibly not. Sorry to say.Isn't it

0:01:29 > 0:01:35people coming together for a lovely lunch, low-key?No, not an

0:01:35 > 0:01:39Eastenders. I saw it yesterday, some of the best episodes I've been

0:01:39 > 0:01:43involved in in 12 years in the soap. I'm really excited. And the ultimate

0:01:43 > 0:01:49feeling coming out was sadness, head in hands?Get your tissues ready,

0:01:49 > 0:01:53there are tear-jerkers, lots of drama in Walford.They are

0:01:53 > 0:01:56explosive, we've seen.How do you feel about the tabloids? There's a

0:01:56 > 0:02:02lot of talk, spoilers in both shows, pre-empting what's about to happen.

0:02:02 > 0:02:06Do you thing that helps, or do you think you should be left? With

0:02:06 > 0:02:14Little Women, we know. We haven't changed the ending.Thankfully.It

0:02:14 > 0:02:19can be really annoying.Especially with Eastenders or any six.Yeah,

0:02:19 > 0:02:24there's a fine line between giving people a little taster of what's to

0:02:24 > 0:02:29come not wanting to spoil it. A show like Eastenders, there is such a

0:02:29 > 0:02:32demand for content, people want to know what's happening so the press

0:02:32 > 0:02:35department to a fantastic job of letting people know enough but

0:02:35 > 0:02:38hopefully not spoiling it. It's so hard now with Twitter and everything

0:02:38 > 0:02:43like that. If you go on Twitter after the show, you will get a

0:02:43 > 0:02:47complete rundown of what's just happened. We'll get it out of your

0:02:47 > 0:02:51during the next half-hour! There will be no surprises!They've bought

0:02:51 > 0:02:56something along, haven't they?They have, exclusive clips from both

0:02:56 > 0:03:03shows, we will unwrap them and enjoy them later.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05Tomorrow is "Frantic Friday" - the day when rush hour commuters

0:03:05 > 0:03:08and families on the big Christmas getaway combine to create

0:03:08 > 0:03:09traffic jam chaos.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12In those jams will be tonnes of lorries, and there are some

0:03:12 > 0:03:14you really don't want to be stuck behind, because they're pumping out

0:03:14 > 0:03:16illegal levels of fumes.

0:03:16 > 0:03:22Here's JJ.

0:03:22 > 0:03:27There's a crackdown taking place on Britain's motorways. The DVSA task

0:03:27 > 0:03:35forces pulling over suspect drugs and taking them apart. They are

0:03:35 > 0:03:38hunting down haulage companies whose lorries are being illegally driven

0:03:38 > 0:03:42because they are hiding a piece of kit designed to get around emissions

0:03:42 > 0:03:51regulations.That will affect multiple manufacturers.What are the

0:03:51 > 0:03:54DVSA doing here?It's an intelligence led operation, we're

0:03:54 > 0:04:00looking at a device that is unfortunately becoming quite

0:04:00 > 0:04:05prevalent.What is it?It's an additive, when mixed with the

0:04:05 > 0:04:09exhaust it will remove pollutants out of the exhaust system. What does

0:04:09 > 0:04:13it do?It will trick the engine to think that everything is working

0:04:13 > 0:04:18properly.Engines with this system cannot function when the liquid

0:04:18 > 0:04:23isn't in use but the box enables the trucks to be driven. The driver

0:04:23 > 0:04:31claims he's got all of his receipts. But why cheat a system which is

0:04:31 > 0:04:34helping the environment?Every time you fill up with diesel you will

0:04:34 > 0:04:39generally fill up with this as well and there's a cost of thathaulage

0:04:39 > 0:04:44operators can save thousands of pounds by adding this. But the

0:04:44 > 0:04:48well-trained team to know what they're looking for.Is not

0:04:48 > 0:04:51particularly difficult to find. What we will do now is trick the engine

0:04:51 > 0:05:00management unit to believe that it's working. There's no -- there is

0:05:00 > 0:05:04nothing going through the system so you have the harmful particulates

0:05:04 > 0:05:12going through the exhaust.I'm meeting Steve Halfon, who's brought

0:05:12 > 0:05:18along a friend. Who is your mate? This is Justin, taking a sample of

0:05:18 > 0:05:23the air and drawing it into his lungs. He has a number of sensors

0:05:23 > 0:05:28that measure for carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, particles, all the

0:05:28 > 0:05:34nasties, including nitrogen dioxide. We get him strapped him?Yeah, let's

0:05:34 > 0:05:40do it.We had to a quiet country lane so Steve and Justin can show me

0:05:40 > 0:05:44what readings they get from relatively clean air.At the minute

0:05:44 > 0:05:48we are seeing 600 particles per cubic centimetre, so this is telling

0:05:48 > 0:05:53you it's nice clean air.Then it's the motorway. See what it's like

0:05:53 > 0:05:56behind an older lorry that isn't required to have an emissions

0:05:56 > 0:06:01reduction system fitted. What are we getting right now?As we get close

0:06:01 > 0:06:05to the vehicle in front we should... There we go, they are going up

0:06:05 > 0:06:12already. We're looking at 6000 particles per cubic centimetre,

0:06:12 > 0:06:187000, 8000, 9000, 10,000. 15,000. Seriously? I think when I'm in my

0:06:18 > 0:06:21car the environment is completely clean. You don't taste it or smell

0:06:21 > 0:06:26it but there's pollution in the cab right now?Yeah. But what happens to

0:06:26 > 0:06:32the readings when we follow a modern lorry? This is a 17 plate, it's

0:06:32 > 0:06:36going to be brand-new.Yeah, we can see through the readings at the

0:06:36 > 0:06:43minute, so we're looking at about 1500 particles.That's ten times

0:06:43 > 0:06:48less emissions than the older truck! That must be working to regulation.

0:06:48 > 0:06:552017 vehicle of that size would definitely have a system on it.Back

0:06:55 > 0:06:59at the inspection centre the team have made another fine. What this

0:06:59 > 0:07:02particular operator has done, there's a new piece of wire here

0:07:02 > 0:07:06that you can see, new insulation tape. If you follow that wire

0:07:06 > 0:07:10around, you can see the white box flashing on the chassis. That's it,

0:07:10 > 0:07:14there. What will happen with this is the vehicle examiner will compile a

0:07:14 > 0:07:18report and the authorities will deal with the operator. They have the

0:07:18 > 0:07:21powers to remove somebody's authority to operate.What about the

0:07:21 > 0:07:26rest of the vehicle, has it been looked at?We will continue to do a

0:07:26 > 0:07:30check. We no one of the indicator light is out and there a fault with

0:07:30 > 0:07:40the brakes, so it's not a good day for the driver.Over two days the

0:07:40 > 0:07:43DVSA 62 vehicles and found six had been tampered with. They'll be given

0:07:43 > 0:07:45ten days to remove the devices. What's your message to someone who

0:07:45 > 0:07:51might use a cheat device, or already is?If they are on a vehicle, we'll

0:07:51 > 0:07:56find them.It was shocking, watching that count to go up as they went on

0:07:56 > 0:07:59to the motorway behind the lorry, but this is something that you are

0:07:59 > 0:08:03really worried about, Emily?Yeah, the Guardian ran an article about

0:08:03 > 0:08:07this last year sometime and you could put the postcode of your

0:08:07 > 0:08:12schooling and where my kids go to school it way over the limit of what

0:08:12 > 0:08:19is safe. I mean, really shocking. Gosh. There's not more being done.

0:08:19 > 0:08:27It's a really worrying thing.Jake, your character, Max, was known as a

0:08:27 > 0:08:32dodgy car dealer. This is brilliant, this. We found this advert that you

0:08:32 > 0:08:37do in America and it's on apparently all the time in every single

0:08:37 > 0:08:43outbreak, where you play a gecko selling car insurance.Yeah, car

0:08:43 > 0:08:47insurance, I've been doing the voice since before I started on

0:08:47 > 0:08:52Eastenders, 2005 I started, a long run.Let's have a look.We need to

0:08:52 > 0:08:57see it.Greetings from the Windy city of Chicago. People here sure

0:08:57 > 0:09:01are friendly but some have had a hard time understanding my accent.

0:09:01 > 0:09:08APPLAUSE Very good, Geico. It's from Dick Van

0:09:08 > 0:09:13Dyke, isn't it?It's great fun doing that, the CGI is very clever and

0:09:13 > 0:09:16when I'm watching the adverts, there must be about 200 now, I can see

0:09:16 > 0:09:21some of my mannerisms. Some of the stuff he does is like me doing

0:09:21 > 0:09:26stuff.Well, who knew? Let's get back to Max. Is a horrible piece of

0:09:26 > 0:09:32work, isn't it? Absolutely horrible! Well, it's the truth, but the thing

0:09:32 > 0:09:36is, Jake, you are the actor playing him. You like to think that he has

0:09:36 > 0:09:41some redeeming qualities. We can't see them. But you stand by that,

0:09:41 > 0:09:48even now, when he's gone a bit mad? Max is always misguided in what he

0:09:48 > 0:09:52does. I think if anyone has been watching the show for any length of

0:09:52 > 0:09:56time knows this storyline is probably the continuation of who

0:09:56 > 0:10:00killed Lucy storyline, Max was sentenced to 20 years in prison for

0:10:00 > 0:10:03something he didn't do and feels very betrayed by everyone in the

0:10:03 > 0:10:08whole community. Max is very upset with everyone and has gone over this

0:10:08 > 0:10:11last year to exact revenge, really, so the stuff playing out now and

0:10:11 > 0:10:15Christmas day is the culmination of that kind of stuff. If you look at

0:10:15 > 0:10:18the reasons why he is doing what he's doing, he's got genuine reasons

0:10:18 > 0:10:22to be upset, but I agree with you, some of the things he does aren't

0:10:22 > 0:10:29the best things.Very dark.That's Max.It's all building, as we speak.

0:10:29 > 0:10:32Here's a moment from tonight's episode, that you've brought along

0:10:32 > 0:10:37with you. This is when Max reunites with Ian Beale in the Square. What

0:10:37 > 0:10:47do you want, Max?Old mates.I thought Wilmot Brown was your mate,

0:10:47 > 0:10:53oh, no, he's dumped you, hasn't he. That's not very nice.I know what

0:10:53 > 0:11:01you're up to.Do you? You think you know what's going on in my head?

0:11:01 > 0:11:11APPLAUSE Straight after us.Max isn't keen,

0:11:11 > 0:11:17but lots of people share that opinion of eel picked -- Ian Beale.

0:11:17 > 0:11:23Max is a bit unhinged, he feels very isolated and is out to get revenge.

0:11:23 > 0:11:32He tries to kill Ian this week, some great episodes. You said this --

0:11:32 > 0:11:36just now that storyline has been going on for years. How does it

0:11:36 > 0:11:41affect you as an actor when you're doing heavy, dark scenes, four long

0:11:41 > 0:11:45days on end?You do look exhausted. A lot of that is make-up, to be

0:11:45 > 0:11:52fair. Yeah, often the storylines are very intense, as you say. Long

0:11:52 > 0:11:56hours, very draining. I think you have to have a good switch off

0:11:56 > 0:12:00mechanism. As soon as I dried out the studios I'm just died and I want

0:12:00 > 0:12:05to be home the kids. -- as soon as I drive out of the studios, I'm just

0:12:05 > 0:12:15dad will stop you don't want to take Max Banning home with you.Your son,

0:12:15 > 0:12:20Buster, is in the audience tonight. What is he like when he comes home

0:12:20 > 0:12:23from work?Well, compared to EastEnders, he's an amazing dad.

0:12:23 > 0:12:28He's kind will stop he is a doubt that you would love to have.

0:12:28 > 0:12:34APPLAUSE Lovely! Do you know what, we know

0:12:34 > 0:12:39that as well because we know what he's like, sitting here. Thank you,.

0:12:39 > 0:12:45That is the best Christmas present you could ever wish for.Thank you,

0:12:45 > 0:12:49and Q Buster. Very proud of the kids.

0:12:49 > 0:12:51All week we've been travelling the country gathering your Christmas

0:12:51 > 0:12:52thank you messages.

0:12:52 > 0:12:54So far we've stopped in Aberdeen, Wrexham, and Bristol.

0:12:54 > 0:13:00Now it's Belfast's turn.

0:13:00 > 0:13:03I'd just like to thank my hospitality teacher for bringing us

0:13:03 > 0:13:09to Belfast. Happy Christmas.I'd like to thank the teachers and staff

0:13:09 > 0:13:14at the primary school who have assisted greatly with my son, who is

0:13:14 > 0:13:17dyslexic.He's our African Grey parrot that we've had for ten years.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21Two weeks ago he was stolen but with the help of the public and the

0:13:21 > 0:13:25police we were able to get Barney back and I'd like to thank everybody

0:13:25 > 0:13:32that helped us.My daughter Sophie was born with the news that she

0:13:32 > 0:13:36needed a heart transplant. Thankfully within four months with

0:13:36 > 0:13:39being on the register we received a hard. This is the first Christmas

0:13:39 > 0:13:42where Sophie is healthy so myself and my husband would like to say

0:13:42 > 0:13:47thank you to the donor family, who in their darkest moment made a

0:13:47 > 0:13:52difficult decision which saved our daughter's life.We are from the

0:13:52 > 0:13:56football club, the cold, singing carols and two special people at the

0:13:56 > 0:14:00rugby club would like to give thanks to, Joe, our physiotherapist and on

0:14:00 > 0:14:06my right, Aline, our head chef. Merry Christmas. # jingle bells,

0:14:06 > 0:14:09jingle bells, jingle all all the Way #.

0:14:09 > 0:14:15Ruben kind Lee asked his friends to donate presents to the cats and dogs

0:14:15 > 0:14:20at the century instead of for himself. Why did you do that?

0:14:20 > 0:14:24Because I want to be a zoo keeper when I grow up.We want to say thank

0:14:24 > 0:14:28you, they are very generous gifts. Ms Thompson is our principle. I

0:14:28 > 0:14:32would like to thank her for motivating me at a time when I

0:14:32 > 0:14:36needed that push.Thank you, Miss Thomson, for helping me to improve

0:14:36 > 0:14:39my English.Thank you for setting up the anti-bullying scheme in the

0:14:39 > 0:14:44school, it has helped so many people.Thank you, Ms Thompson,

0:14:44 > 0:14:46Merry Christmas. APPLAUSE

0:14:46 > 0:14:53Brilliant. No homework for them the first week back.I hope they have a

0:14:53 > 0:14:59nice Christmas, especially baby Sophie, her first Christmas.

0:14:59 > 0:15:04Let's talk about Little Women, which is on for three nights starting on

0:15:04 > 0:15:09Boxing Day.I love the book. You speak to so many women and everybody

0:15:09 > 0:15:16goes, that was my favourite book throwing up - did you want to be Jo?

0:15:16 > 0:15:21I wanted to be Jo.To be fair I did not know too much about it, so for

0:15:21 > 0:15:24anybody else who might be in a similar position, how do you

0:15:24 > 0:15:33describe the story but doing it is about a family in America, there are

0:15:33 > 0:15:38four teenage daughters, and it's basically them growing up. But in an

0:15:38 > 0:15:41incredibly difficult political time, in the middle of the civil war and

0:15:41 > 0:15:47her dad is away and the mother is raising them by herself. And all the

0:15:47 > 0:15:52terrible trials and tribulations that it is to be a teenage girl, and

0:15:52 > 0:15:56it's just this house full of teenage smelly angst, and all the dramas

0:15:56 > 0:16:04that they go through. You play the mum.Campbell and I think the way

0:16:04 > 0:16:07that they're raising them is really interesting, it's very thoughtful

0:16:07 > 0:16:13and considered, and the first thing you see them do is, they give away

0:16:13 > 0:16:16their Christmas back first to a family of refugees. I don't know how

0:16:16 > 0:16:21that would go down in your house but I'm not sure it would go down so

0:16:21 > 0:16:26well in mine! There's this effort to make their children be thoughtful

0:16:26 > 0:16:31and profound people, and it is ahead of its time in that way.Let's see

0:16:31 > 0:16:45you in action.Father doesn't have a temper, does he? He's so wise and so

0:16:45 > 0:16:52patient.No want is without their trials. But his strengths speak to

0:16:52 > 0:16:59my weaknesses in should don't cry, money, you didn't even cry when

0:16:59 > 0:17:05father left for Washington in his uniform. I gave my best to the

0:17:05 > 0:17:10country I love and saved my tears until he was gone. Sometimes we

0:17:10 > 0:17:21simply have to do the bravest thing. There are four very young actresses

0:17:21 > 0:17:25in, some of them this was their first job, one in particular, the

0:17:25 > 0:17:33daughter of Uma Thurman?Yeah, she's amazing, she's 20, she's just left

0:17:33 > 0:17:39college, and she's kind of so full of energy, she is just like Jo if

0:17:39 > 0:17:43you remember the character. She's full of thoughts and ideas and

0:17:43 > 0:17:46talking all the time and her arms and legs are slightly too long and

0:17:46 > 0:17:53she's always falling over herself. There were four of them in their

0:17:53 > 0:18:00early 20s.So were you like a mum offset as well?I was, absolutely.

0:18:00 > 0:18:03When you go onto a set there are so many people with different agendas

0:18:03 > 0:18:07of how they want things to be, and just to be able to be single-minded

0:18:07 > 0:18:13and focused on what your job is is really, really hard. Just to be able

0:18:13 > 0:18:15to tell them, you look after yourself and tell everybody else to

0:18:15 > 0:18:21go away...It is set in New England, but where did you feel it?We filmed

0:18:21 > 0:18:28it in Ireland, in think the hottest summer that has had.It was winter

0:18:28 > 0:18:40in New England! We had snow, there was a frozen lake. We were bowling

0:18:40 > 0:18:4540lb off petticoats every day, which was a killer. Amazing job they had

0:18:45 > 0:18:53done to make it look... It doesn't look real there but in other... It

0:18:53 > 0:18:59looks really amazing. Can't wait to see this. Little Women begins on

0:18:59 > 0:19:05Boxing Day at 8pm on BBC One and it continues on the 27th and the 28th,

0:19:05 > 0:19:10all on BBC One. And you can feast on it, three in a row!

0:19:10 > 0:19:11Christmas came early for scientists in Edinburgh,

0:19:11 > 0:19:13when Joy Milne walked through the door.

0:19:13 > 0:19:16For 200 years the search has been on for a way of detecting

0:19:16 > 0:19:17Parkinson's disease.

0:19:17 > 0:19:26For Joy, it turned out the answer was right in front of her nose.

0:19:26 > 0:19:31I'm in a tiny, tiny branch of the population, somewhere between a dog

0:19:31 > 0:19:37and a human. I thought, that's quite nice, I can smell better than most

0:19:37 > 0:19:46humans! I'm Joy Milne, I'm 67P and I smell Parkinson's UK Trina husband

0:19:46 > 0:19:52was a doctor, I was a nurse. I sensed a strange smell when he was

0:19:52 > 0:19:58around, and it caused some tension because I said he wasn't brushing

0:19:58 > 0:20:02his teeth, he wasn't showering and so on and so forth, so I just had to

0:20:02 > 0:20:10be quiet. But then we went to a Parkinson's meeting and my nose just

0:20:10 > 0:20:17thought, wow!Joy can distinguish the Parkinson's smells from the

0:20:17 > 0:20:20samples we have taken from patients and if she smells it we will then

0:20:20 > 0:20:27know right away what that molecule is.You are a wonder, Joy. You can

0:20:27 > 0:20:32smell it on other people and now we are here, it's amazing! We would

0:20:32 > 0:20:35like to thank you for your friendship and many happy memories

0:20:35 > 0:20:43over the years - that was from his funeral. It's horrible watching your

0:20:43 > 0:20:51partner change like that, it really is. If we get the test right, it

0:20:51 > 0:20:58will never get to that stage, because at that stage of diagnosis,

0:20:58 > 0:21:0368% to 70% of the real damage is already done. The not going to find

0:21:03 > 0:21:07a cure for it, but to stop or alleviate it, it's just going to be

0:21:07 > 0:21:17tremendous.And Joy is here with us, along with the scientist Professor

0:21:17 > 0:21:22Perdita Barran. And we've just noticed that Jake has moved away

0:21:22 > 0:21:25from the so far, because he's wearing very strong aftershave, and

0:21:25 > 0:21:34we need Joy's knows to be in tiptop condition! We have got some swabs

0:21:34 > 0:21:40here, what is on them? These come from participants in our clinical

0:21:40 > 0:21:47trial. It is just cause and the nurse has taken them and wiped them

0:21:47 > 0:21:53quite firmly on the back of a person with Parkinson is. Well, this one is

0:21:53 > 0:21:58from someone with Parkinson is, this one is from a control subject. And

0:21:58 > 0:22:03what is on them is the substance that will be on your back.Joy,

0:22:03 > 0:22:09would you mind opening both samples and just tell us what you're

0:22:09 > 0:22:16smelling and the difference between both, for you?For me, that is very

0:22:16 > 0:22:20strong.I could see the reaction in your face.Yes, that one is very

0:22:20 > 0:22:26strong, it is very strong.Do you mind if we have a go?Let's get the

0:22:26 > 0:22:31other one as well, just to see if you can smell a difference - can you

0:22:31 > 0:22:38smell it?Yes. Yes. You see, that's completely different, all I can

0:22:38 > 0:22:46smell on that one is the gauze. Yeah, it does smell more musky but

0:22:46 > 0:22:50to me there is not a massive difference. It's very, very strong.

0:22:50 > 0:23:04And you grade the smell?1-5.And that one is...?That is a 4-5,

0:23:04 > 0:23:10definitely.How will this change away Parkinson's can be diagnosed?

0:23:10 > 0:23:15What she is smelling is the molecules and a kind of greasy

0:23:15 > 0:23:22substance where you get spots when you're a teenager. And in that there

0:23:22 > 0:23:26are lots of molecules and some of them smell, so we take those samples

0:23:26 > 0:23:32and we take off the sebum and we separate the molecules to find out

0:23:32 > 0:23:36what they are. And there are about 6000 and most of them would be the

0:23:36 > 0:23:41same, but but the people with Parkinson is have some that there

0:23:41 > 0:23:47are more of. And so we have a fingerprint, if you like.Joy, when

0:23:47 > 0:23:50you meet people and come into contact with them, how close do you

0:23:50 > 0:23:56have to be in order to get that smell? If we are at level five I

0:23:56 > 0:24:04would smell it where Alex is now, quite easily. Otherwise, it can be

0:24:04 > 0:24:08on their hands, things they've done in the day.And with what you've

0:24:08 > 0:24:11been through with your husband and what have you, do you feel like you

0:24:11 > 0:24:16want to tell that person?I can't, we had a discussion within the

0:24:16 > 0:24:19research group and it would be unethical because the test is not

0:24:19 > 0:24:28there. It would not be ethical in medicine and I couldn't do it.But

0:24:28 > 0:24:31it must feel like quite a wait of responsibility as a me you still

0:24:31 > 0:24:37know?Yes, I do.But I suppose the fact that you've continued with it

0:24:37 > 0:24:43and you're doing this work is going to help so many other people, I

0:24:43 > 0:24:47suppose that's the key?Yes, all around the world.And what is next?

0:24:47 > 0:24:51That signature that I talked about, some of the molecules are

0:24:51 > 0:24:54distinctive to people with Parkinson is a geek we've looked at people at

0:24:54 > 0:25:00the very early stage. Unfortunately, that is too late, we are not going

0:25:00 > 0:25:05to stop the disease, but our next stage is to go to even earlier

0:25:05 > 0:25:10stages of it, so people, who are some reason might have a

0:25:10 > 0:25:13neurological event which means they might get Parkinson is, so we want

0:25:13 > 0:25:18to try and take the diagnosis as early as possible. And then to

0:25:18 > 0:25:21prolong each stage as much as possible? And there we hope the

0:25:21 > 0:25:26treatment will be more effective. It really is fascinating to meet you,

0:25:26 > 0:25:30van. And thank you so much for that clip of that film, but you can see

0:25:30 > 0:25:36the full documentary, on the iPlayer, called The Woman Who Can

0:25:36 > 0:25:40Smell Parkinson's.

0:25:40 > 0:25:42A choir in Oxford called the Pro Musica Singers

0:25:42 > 0:25:44are celebrating their 40th anniversary, so we've helped them

0:25:44 > 0:25:46do something special to mark the occasion.

0:25:46 > 0:25:48And this is the end result - a performance spreading Christmas

0:25:48 > 0:25:58cheer around the city, that visits 12 churches in just 11 hours.

0:25:59 > 0:26:17# Once in royal David's city # Stood a lonely cattle shed...

0:26:17 > 0:26:30# In a now for his bed... # That mother mild

0:26:30 > 0:26:39# Jesus Christ, the little child # He came down to earth from a

0:26:39 > 0:26:49heaven

0:26:53 > 0:27:01# # And his shelter was a stable

0:27:34 > 0:27:45# Tears and smiles # Through our eyes...

0:27:56 > 0:28:10Merry Christmas! Voice of an angel, Jake, singing along! And we are

0:28:10 > 0:28:21actually going to finish on a duff-duff... EastEnders, 2018, are

0:28:21 > 0:28:26you staying or are you going?I guess tuned in... That sounds

0:28:26 > 0:28:34ominous! If it is the end of the story, it spin story. I certainly

0:28:34 > 0:28:39think there is a future for Max, I never thought he was irredeemable,

0:28:39 > 0:28:42the things that he did but obviously, that decision is out of

0:28:42 > 0:28:48my hands. And Emily, we look forward to seeing you on the BBC with Sir

0:28:48 > 0:28:55Anthony Hopkins.Haven't they been fantastic tonight?! EastEnders is

0:28:55 > 0:29:03coming up straight after us. Emily will be on on Boxing Day. We asked

0:29:03 > 0:29:10you to send in your dancing videos and you've given Strictly winner Joe

0:29:10 > 0:29:16McFadden a run for his money!
