:00:00. > :00:07.thunder, lightning and hail to reach the fishermen.

:00:08. > :00:13.Hi, there. You join us for this breaking news report on a huge super

:00:14. > :00:17.hero fight that's currently in progress. As you can see behind us,

:00:18. > :00:20.all hell is breaking loose. And the only way we are gonna keep peace in

:00:21. > :00:27.this city tonight is to keep these guys apart. There's only one hero

:00:28. > :00:31.who can save us now! Props Man! Better get started then. Thanks,

:00:32. > :00:42.Dave. The American accent's good, isn't it? !

:00:43. > :00:49.Hello and welcome to The One Show with Alex Jones and Matt Baker.

:00:50. > :00:54.Tonight our guests are two movie superheroes on opposite sides of the

:00:55. > :00:59.biggest comic book fight ever. Good job Dave, we have to say that. We

:01:00. > :01:03.are going to try to keep these guys apart tonight. Dave's already split

:01:04. > :01:08.the studio in half which is a one show first. Feels slightly bad but

:01:09. > :01:13.I'm enjoying it. Making his way to the studio is a

:01:14. > :01:21.member of Team Iron Man. It's Paul, The Vision Bettany.

:01:22. > :01:28.Welcome back! Now shall we welcome from team Captain America, Anthony

:01:29. > :01:43.the Falcon Mackie. What's up, big man? I brought you

:01:44. > :01:47.guys some gifts. Oh, look at this. Thank you so much. You've made the

:01:48. > :01:55.right choice, thank you. Were you aware we were scoring this? No idea.

:01:56. > :01:59.We've already got one for the gifts. This is the thing, because the film

:02:00. > :02:03.is called Captain America's Civil War, we thought we'd keep that theme

:02:04. > :02:11.going so we are going to pit you against each other and award a point

:02:12. > :02:17.for best entrance we think. We've done that. I thought that was for

:02:18. > :02:26.the gift. Do you want another one? Sorry, Paul. Are you genuinely kind

:02:27. > :02:33.of competitive in real life? No. Yes. Wildly. Yes. No. If just you

:02:34. > :02:39.and I could reach hands across this table and just, I would I would take

:02:40. > :02:52.this table with me. Let's just make friends. No. I'm showing a lot...

:02:53. > :02:56.Really? ! Very good, very good. Listen, if you are having your own

:02:57. > :03:00.Civil War going on at home, then we would like to try and solve it

:03:01. > :03:05.tonight with the help of these guys. If you have a long-running issue or

:03:06. > :03:08.argument you need settling, send in a photo of yourselves giving both

:03:09. > :03:10.points of view and we'll get Paul and Anthony to try to offer their

:03:11. > :03:28.solutions. Points will be awarded. Now, the Battle of Britain's biggest

:03:29. > :03:38.traffic jam. It's a local's versus the council story. Can Dom

:03:39. > :03:43.Littlewood keep the peace? Spring has sprung in this corner of Kent.

:03:44. > :03:59.Morning. Until she retired, Dolly ran a

:04:00. > :04:05.business in this quintessential village. The peace and quiet has

:04:06. > :04:21.been threatened since Highways England have decided this is the

:04:22. > :04:30.best place to build a park. Dolly and her neighbours are not happy.

:04:31. > :04:41.The biggest thing for us is the environment issue. There is an

:04:42. > :04:46.unprecedented amount of diesel fumes towards the rural community.

:04:47. > :04:51.Stanford is close to Dover and Folkestone. Last year when ferry

:04:52. > :04:57.crossings were disrupted 32 times, either by industrial action migrants

:04:58. > :05:05.in Calais, the M20 became a giant holding bay in Operation Stack. To

:05:06. > :05:09.get an idea of how big a scale we are talking about here, this massive

:05:10. > :05:11.flying machine is going to go up there and get some shots. Stand

:05:12. > :05:28.back, guys. Off you go! We are Fawkesing approximately 100

:05:29. > :05:35.football pitches. The lake is going to need a drainage system the size

:05:36. > :05:39.of 24 Olympic swimming pools. Guess what, we are just the other

:05:40. > :05:43.side of the village. That's Stanford. You can see why the locals

:05:44. > :05:48.feel someone's got it in for them. We talk of nothing else. Our minds

:05:49. > :05:51.are full of it. I can't concentrate on anything else. We don't sleep.

:05:52. > :05:58.It's devastating our lives at the moment. Haulage companies, Highways

:05:59. > :06:02.England, the local council and truckers all say the lorry park is

:06:03. > :06:10.sorely needed. And getting stuck in a stack for days at a time is no

:06:11. > :06:13.picnic for drivers, like Dave Pask? The lack of facilities, toilets,

:06:14. > :06:16.washing facilities, fresh drinking water. It just becomes a complete

:06:17. > :06:24.nightmare. The Secretary of State is going to

:06:25. > :06:28.be deciding on this. In the meantime, we are going to thrash

:06:29. > :06:35.things out here and now in the pub. Speaking up for the locals in their

:06:36. > :06:41.local is Matthew Webb. Up against him, Mick Kilroe from Abbey

:06:42. > :06:44.logistics, lorry driver Dave's boss and Matthew Balfour of Kent County

:06:45. > :06:48.Council, they both back the plan. What we are doing is trying to find

:06:49. > :06:52.a solution to a particular problem. There are a whole load of other

:06:53. > :06:57.problems like the parking. Which particular problem? Operation Stack

:06:58. > :07:01.on the motorway. That's the problem that we are trying to save. That's

:07:02. > :07:05.not the particular problem because it has many causes. Sorry. It is a

:07:06. > :07:13.particular problem if the motorway is shut. Most people in Kent can

:07:14. > :07:18.function during Stack anyway. No, no, no, they weren't functioning.

:07:19. > :07:20.People were not going to their hospital appointments, businesses

:07:21. > :07:23.were breaking down, as you know well. We have traffic jams

:07:24. > :07:28.throughout the UK, that doesn't mean no-one can get to their doctors or

:07:29. > :07:34.hospitals. But it did when Stack was in operation. What do you think

:07:35. > :07:41.about this situation? What I do know, we definitely need this. We

:07:42. > :07:46.have out-of-date things, we have a load of hidden costs involved. No

:07:47. > :07:51.driver wants to be sat in his truck not turning the wheel. All the big

:07:52. > :07:54.companies that still need to get supplies by lorry are still not

:07:55. > :08:00.going to get them, they'll be stuck in the lorry park. As we take our

:08:01. > :08:05.leave, I reckon this row has a very long road ahead.

:08:06. > :08:15.Wow! That was you! I finished my move. No, no, that was you, man.

:08:16. > :08:17.Sorry. I've said this before, it's never good to be you. Never good to

:08:18. > :08:27.be you. He was on his move. It was when you

:08:28. > :08:30.were putting it on, wasn't it? Very intense game of Jenga, you can sense

:08:31. > :08:37.the tension. Basically, it was the latter half of the move that Paul

:08:38. > :08:43.was laying his brick on the top of the Jenga pile and it all went

:08:44. > :08:49.wrong. You know what this is, this is me loving you. Tell you what is

:08:50. > :08:56.amazing, during that film, Anthony, you said you made a massive Jenga

:08:57. > :09:09.game for you son out of 2x 4? Yes, cut 'em up in a 12 inch link, stack

:09:10. > :09:14.'em 3 xst x3x 3. When it falls, it's a disaster. Lets's talk about the

:09:15. > :09:18.film now. Captain America's Civil War. Whoever can give us the plot

:09:19. > :09:25.more most concisely will score a point. Who wants to do it? Do you

:09:26. > :09:32.want to go first? I'll give it a go. Go on, Paul? You find the team split

:09:33. > :09:36.because the UN's decided that there shouldn't be unilateral intervention

:09:37. > :09:40.from a super power without regulation and Captain America wants

:09:41. > :09:46.his autonomy and Iron Man thinks that we need to be, you know, to

:09:47. > :09:52.have a watch and that's it. That's very good. Wait, wait, wait, I

:09:53. > :10:01.didn't give mine. OK, give Paul a point for that, go on. A point for

:10:02. > :10:11.that? ! All right. We start the film in a very... Oh, dear... You see the

:10:12. > :10:16.Aventioners and the Cap working as a team. He even says, do it as we

:10:17. > :10:22.rehearse. They are fighting evil and this evil causes a huge explosion

:10:23. > :10:26.which causes casualties. From these casualties, lives are lost,

:10:27. > :10:36.heart-breaking. So, you know this is a 20-minute show or something. Oh,

:10:37. > :10:43.I'm sorry. I said concise. There's another bad boy going on there. Back

:10:44. > :10:49.to the point. Tell you what we'll do just to make amends, let's have a

:10:50. > :10:51.look at Anthony doing what Anthony's character falcon does best. It does

:10:52. > :11:20.get real. He's on the third floor. Do it like

:11:21. > :11:25.we practised. What about the gas? Get it out.

:11:26. > :11:32.APPLAUSE. Isn't that the scene I described to

:11:33. > :11:38.a tee. You see them working as a unit and Cap says, just as we

:11:39. > :11:44.practised! . That's not the whole film though. Just a bit long. Just

:11:45. > :11:51.as we practised. Just as we practised. If you let me go on, it

:11:52. > :11:57.could have been 4-3. 4-3, very good point. When you go and watch these

:11:58. > :12:01.movies for the very first time and you, because obviously there is a

:12:02. > :12:06.huge amount of CGI involved, when you see yourself doing this stuff,

:12:07. > :12:10.what does it feel like? Are the premiers really noisy when

:12:11. > :12:15.everyone's kind of high-fiving each other? It is a bit of a party. It's

:12:16. > :12:19.a lot of fun. I feel like we are just as excited to see the movie as

:12:20. > :12:22.the fans are, so we are just as noisy, especially if you have a

:12:23. > :12:26.character that can't really do anything without CGI like Paul's

:12:27. > :12:30.character. So when you see the movie, it's like your first time

:12:31. > :12:39.seeing what you actually do, you know. But that is Team Iron Man, you

:12:40. > :12:45.know. Have you seen the team stunts that has a repostto Anthony's "I do

:12:46. > :12:49.my own stunts". Including flying. This is getting really messy, isn't

:12:50. > :12:54.it? If you watch my stunts, you can tell it's me when they use me. Your

:12:55. > :12:56.stunts are always - as a matter-of-fact, I don't remember

:12:57. > :13:02.seeing you on set except like four days. Oh, dear! Shall we do some

:13:03. > :13:07.quick-fire? We are going to have to do something. We need to break this

:13:08. > :13:13.up. OK. All right. You're hurting and I'm loving you. I'm hurting you.

:13:14. > :13:18.An amazing cast in this. We've got some questions for you. Which cast

:13:19. > :13:31.member is most likely to be late on set? Paul? Robert DJ. What team are

:13:32. > :13:38.you on? Who is the least like their character? Oh, me, my character's

:13:39. > :13:48.calm and focussed and I got none of that. You spout rhetoric all day.

:13:49. > :13:57.Which actor is most vein? Anthony? Cap. You love your team? Team hot

:13:58. > :14:07.sauce baby, we gotta look good. Who is the messiest? Sebastien's a mess.

:14:08. > :14:11.He's kind of a mess, yes. Kind of a mess. All right. Brilliant. We hope

:14:12. > :14:20.you got something out of that. Captain America Civil War is out on

:14:21. > :14:24.Friday. 4-3! We have a very unsuper hero on the show, anti-Talbot. His

:14:25. > :14:29.main power is the ability to say yes whenever we ask him to do crazy

:14:30. > :14:33.things such as going deep underground to discover the hidden

:14:34. > :14:38.river of Stockport. Around 300 years ago in the

:14:39. > :14:43.industrial age, our towns and cities were expanding rapidly. As part of

:14:44. > :14:46.that growth, many of our rivers were diverted into underground tunnels

:14:47. > :14:50.known as culverts which gave industry the space it needed to grow

:14:51. > :14:54.and thrive. There are hundreds of miles of

:14:55. > :15:00.culverts in Britain and the north-west of England has one of the

:15:01. > :15:04.highest number in the country. Like overgrown rivers, these culverts are

:15:05. > :15:09.capable of flooding, causing wide scale destruction.

:15:10. > :15:14.In Cheadle, Cheshire, in 2009, a blocked culvert contributed to this

:15:15. > :15:19.area flooding. So, to help prevent this, a specialist team regularly

:15:20. > :15:23.heads underground to server them clearing any blockages. I've come to

:15:24. > :15:28.Stockport to join Carl and Steve from the Environment Agency who'll

:15:29. > :15:30.be inspecting the brook, a tributary of the River Mersey that runs

:15:31. > :15:38.beneath the streets. Over the years, Carl and Steve have

:15:39. > :15:44.come across a whole host of things that have been washed underground.

:15:45. > :15:49.Car tyres, wagon tyres, bits of cars. Shopping trolleys. If it was

:15:50. > :15:56.flooding, which areas would be affected? Stockport city centre, his

:15:57. > :15:59.Mrs worth millions of pounds. We entered the culvert through a

:16:00. > :16:04.manhole in a busy shopping street. Today, we will you be inspecting 300

:16:05. > :16:12.metres of tunnels that run underneath the shops that end up in

:16:13. > :16:15.the town's shopping centre falls the water is absolutely clear, crystal

:16:16. > :16:19.clear. The tunnels are all different shapes

:16:20. > :16:23.and sizes. They were built at different times by whoever owned the

:16:24. > :16:28.land above, so each one has its own unique style. The sort of thing to

:16:29. > :16:38.look out for bricks missing, cracks in the wall, seepage. It is not long

:16:39. > :16:46.until we find something. Those are tree roots, Georgian plans. It is a

:16:47. > :16:50.major issue. For now, they are OK, but left untouched, they can lead to

:16:51. > :16:57.severe blockages and the removal of the tree. We then final wall that

:16:58. > :17:02.needs repairing. It has been washed away. We will need to put that back.

:17:03. > :17:09.Any damage is noted so they can return later to fix it. It isn't

:17:10. > :17:21.long before we find a load of rubbish up ahead.

:17:22. > :17:32.A five metre tree has been washed in with all of the rubbish. We tried it

:17:33. > :17:35.all to the next manhole, where the tree will be cut into small pieces

:17:36. > :17:39.so it can be called out with the rest of the rubbish whilst we carry

:17:40. > :17:46.on underground. The next few sections are very low. Just a bit of

:17:47. > :17:50.a crawl along on your hands and your belly, you have got to be careful

:17:51. > :17:57.not to splash yourself in them out. The section coming up is where they

:17:58. > :17:58.diverted the stream deeper underground to build the shopping

:17:59. > :18:22.centre overhead. You can hear the power of the water,

:18:23. > :18:26.even when it is quite low. The final toll for inspection has a steel flap

:18:27. > :18:41.at the end of it, the River Mersey on the other side. When it comes up

:18:42. > :18:47.in floods, the flap shots. -- shots. That is it, the end of the journey.

:18:48. > :18:50.After eight hours underground and the inspection complete, we return

:18:51. > :18:54.to the service, knowing that this Kolbert is clear that now, helping

:18:55. > :18:59.to keep the town centre flood free for the coming months -- culvert.

:19:00. > :19:12.Thanks, Andy, getting very competitive with English accents.

:19:13. > :19:16.Yes, myself and Anthony. Andy is our kind of action man, he goes off and

:19:17. > :19:20.does all bits and pieces, so what is the most dangerous thing you have

:19:21. > :19:30.done a your own lives, off of a movie set, completely away. I swam

:19:31. > :19:37.with great Whites, no cage. Where? South Africa. Did you have a phobia

:19:38. > :19:42.and it was something you are trying to overcome? No, I just wanted to

:19:43. > :19:57.swim with some sharks. My wife was giving birth at home and I played

:19:58. > :20:06.Push It by Salt N'Pepa. I turned it off and put on some Ryan Adams very

:20:07. > :20:15.quickly. Let's deduct a point for the old Push It. I thought it was

:20:16. > :20:20.the most dangerous thing! I suppose it was but that is another level.

:20:21. > :20:23.Talking of your wife, Jennifer, it is not the first time you have

:20:24. > :20:28.worked together. Is it right, Anthony, that you were playing... I

:20:29. > :20:35.was playing his wife's love interest in a film he directed. Really weird.

:20:36. > :20:41.Here it is again, it looks like they are in the tunnels of Stockport. Was

:20:42. > :20:45.it as awkward as it sounds? The day we were shooting this, at the very

:20:46. > :20:49.tip of Manhattan, it was night, it was cold, everyone was tired and we

:20:50. > :20:54.had to walk into a fountain and kids. I grabbed Jennifer, I look at

:20:55. > :21:01.her, and I look at Paul, and I look at her, and I look at Paul, and I

:21:02. > :21:11.kiss her and so he comes over and he goes, "Is that how you case?" Kiss

:21:12. > :21:19.my wife! -- is that how you kiss. I've got five minutes to get the

:21:20. > :21:22.shot! Into a monster when you are a director. I have got to get the

:21:23. > :21:26.shot, kiss my god dam wife! You both have really good stories about how

:21:27. > :21:33.you met your wives, so we will do the point thing again. When I was in

:21:34. > :21:36.elementary school, second grade, I saw this beautiful young lady and my

:21:37. > :21:39.mother would give me 50 cents every day so I could buy my lunch and it

:21:40. > :21:44.got to the point where she would take my lunch money every day and I

:21:45. > :21:48.was like, this is like marriage, so you must be my girlfriend. So that

:21:49. > :21:56.is how I got my girlfriend. She would beat me up for my lunch money.

:21:57. > :22:00.What about you, Paul? I was in Tuscany and I was shopping in a

:22:01. > :22:04.little square and I saw this bar and it was full of people and I thought

:22:05. > :22:11.there must be a football game, but it was deadly quiet and I went in

:22:12. > :22:19.there and I saw the second plane hit the tower on 9/11 and my now wife

:22:20. > :22:23.lived right by there, and we weren't together at all, and I found myself

:22:24. > :22:29.spending two days calling this woman up, thinking, what the hell am I

:22:30. > :22:35.doing, calling this woman for two days? Oh, no, I am totally in love

:22:36. > :22:39.with her. And I finally got through to her and that was it. We had never

:22:40. > :22:50.dated, nothing had happened and I asked her to marry me and she said

:22:51. > :22:58.yes. True story. Loads of points! So many points do go on there. That was

:22:59. > :23:03.good. Now, we have a new member of the One Show team, Adebanji Alade,

:23:04. > :23:09.an artist who loves to get under the skin of his subjects to create the

:23:10. > :23:14.perfect portrait. As an artist, when I sketch someone

:23:15. > :23:17.and they are talking, I can see resonance on their face. It

:23:18. > :23:22.understands the person they are and the like they have lived. Through

:23:23. > :23:26.drawing, I can uncover the person behind the image. Today I am drawing

:23:27. > :23:30.Gail Porter, television personality who has battled with a very public

:23:31. > :23:36.change in her appearance. Woz image so important to you

:23:37. > :23:40.growing up? Not at all. I was quite a chubby kid and I never felt

:23:41. > :23:48.pretty. Say you wouldn't say you were a girly girl? So I was like

:23:49. > :23:55.BMX, no girly girls. It is a big contrast to what you were later on.

:23:56. > :23:58.Basically, I just got naked. This is going to be one hell of an

:23:59. > :24:04.interview! Gail Porter rose to fame as a

:24:05. > :24:08.children's TV presenter but was inundated with offers to model in

:24:09. > :24:11.men's magazines and an image of her was projected onto the Houses of

:24:12. > :24:17.Parliament. So that went down really well with her parents -- my parents.

:24:18. > :24:20.I did it because it was funny at the time, people were staring at you and

:24:21. > :24:25.they had seen nude naked, which I quite liked, because I was young at

:24:26. > :24:31.the time. I don't think my bottom was that offensive. It is quite

:24:32. > :24:36.nice. You have got all of this fun stuff going on outside, does it help

:24:37. > :24:40.you deal with your internal issues? I love humour, because I have got

:24:41. > :24:44.bipolar. It is difficult but I don't want to make it a massive issue in

:24:45. > :24:49.my life. My daughter always says count to ten and get on with it and

:24:50. > :24:54.I do that every single day, because I am very fortunate to have her, she

:24:55. > :24:57.is my constant. Because when you have bipolar, nothing is in

:24:58. > :25:02.perspective, it is like a time bomb and it is sitting in your stomach

:25:03. > :25:08.and it is in your heart. I was ashamed and that is the I ended up

:25:51. > :25:59.have accepted what has happened and I feel strong. I feel privileged

:26:00. > :26:05.that, you know, I have lost my hair just because of alopecia and I have

:28:16. > :28:23.not only has a bigger room than her but she chokes toilet roll all over

:28:24. > :28:26.it. -- throws toilet roll. Being the older kid, you have to be more of a
