0:13:28 > 0:13:29He is really good at it.

0:13:29 > 0:13:31He's explaining exactly in detail what's going on,

0:13:31 > 0:13:34where there's a hill, if you've got to be slow.

0:13:34 > 0:13:37- At the back, you all right?- We're all good, mate.- Yes, fine, Freddo.

0:13:37 > 0:13:41'Freddie's doing a good job, but then herding IS in his blood.'

0:13:44 > 0:13:48From growing up on a farm, I'm very kind of hands-on.

0:13:48 > 0:13:49I like to get stuck into things.

0:13:49 > 0:13:52I think I'll always be a country boy at heart.

0:13:52 > 0:13:53All right, guys?

0:13:53 > 0:13:57I'm a fun kind of character, full of energy.

0:13:57 > 0:14:00I love just having fun and smiling around the place,

0:14:00 > 0:14:03making other people smile.

0:14:03 > 0:14:06Oh, no. I missed that one!

0:14:06 > 0:14:10I feel that I am right for this job.

0:14:10 > 0:14:13I will do everything in my powers to get it.

0:14:13 > 0:14:14COW MOOS

0:14:14 > 0:14:16See you later, sheepies.

0:14:16 > 0:14:18SHEEP BAAS

0:14:18 > 0:14:20Good teamwork so far.

0:14:20 > 0:14:23- I'm the leader! - CHEERING

0:14:23 > 0:14:25'So, it's Ben's turn to take charge.'

0:14:25 > 0:14:27Oh, tree in the face!

0:14:27 > 0:14:29There's, like, a net.

0:14:29 > 0:14:33OK, we need to go under it.

0:14:33 > 0:14:34This is going to be funny.

0:14:34 > 0:14:36It's a bit of a squeeze.

0:14:37 > 0:14:40It's a mess. It's an absolute mess.

0:14:40 > 0:14:42What's going on?!

0:14:44 > 0:14:46DICK LAUGHS

0:14:46 > 0:14:47Look at Lindsey!

0:14:47 > 0:14:49Just totally squashed!

0:14:49 > 0:14:51Oh, that's someone's bum!

0:14:51 > 0:14:54SHE LAUGHS

0:14:55 > 0:14:58I bet you didn't think you'd signed up to this!

0:14:58 > 0:15:02Yes, in this mess here is the next presenter of Blue Peter.

0:15:02 > 0:15:06- Your presenter, you decide! - Everyone under the net!

0:15:06 > 0:15:07Wait, wait, wait, shh!

0:15:07 > 0:15:10- Right, who's going under the net at the moment?- Me, Lindsey.

0:15:10 > 0:15:13- Right, if we go back a bit so you can go forward.- Yeah.

0:15:13 > 0:15:15Good work, Ben. Did you see that?

0:15:15 > 0:15:17He told everyone to be quiet and then he gave his instructions.

0:15:17 > 0:15:19'So, Ben's doing his best

0:15:19 > 0:15:22'but he's not used to being stuck in one place.'

0:15:24 > 0:15:27I've been to an insane number of places.

0:15:27 > 0:15:31Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia...

0:15:34 > 0:15:37There are still so many places that I want to visit.

0:15:37 > 0:15:39Why can't I be going somewhere?

0:15:39 > 0:15:41I love to laugh, I love having a good time.

0:15:41 > 0:15:43HE LAUGHS

0:15:43 > 0:15:45But I am ridiculously competitive.

0:15:45 > 0:15:49We have a family phrase, which is, "Huntes don't lose."

0:15:49 > 0:15:51And second place is not winning.

0:15:51 > 0:15:54Let's do this, yeah.

0:15:57 > 0:16:01The ten hopefuls are halfway through their first teamwork challenge...

0:16:01 > 0:16:03We've got to go over.

0:16:03 > 0:16:05..and they're coping well...

0:16:05 > 0:16:06Teamwork, teamwork!

0:16:06 > 0:16:08..despite the obvious problems.

0:16:08 > 0:16:11- You're going that way.- Which way? I can't see!

0:16:11 > 0:16:15But there's still their first ever talent test to come,

0:16:15 > 0:16:18and even more outrageous obstacles.

0:16:18 > 0:16:21OK, it's Lindsey's turn.

0:16:21 > 0:16:23Let's see how she explains the big tyre.

0:16:23 > 0:16:25Um...OK...

0:16:25 > 0:16:29- I'm going to go through and see what's on the other side.- Good luck!

0:16:29 > 0:16:31SHE SCREAMS

0:16:31 > 0:16:33Careful!

0:16:33 > 0:16:35The tyre's wet, but on the other side of it

0:16:35 > 0:16:38is just, like, an old tarpaulin thing.

0:16:38 > 0:16:42Lindsey's just said it's nice and dry on the ground here, so we're

0:16:42 > 0:16:45- going to remove this tarpaulin so it's nice and muddy.- Good idea.

0:16:53 > 0:16:54That'll help them.

0:16:54 > 0:16:57'Now how to make sure they get proper messy.'

0:16:57 > 0:17:00You're going to have to go under that, Lindsey.

0:17:00 > 0:17:03- Stay on your hands and knees.- OK.

0:17:03 > 0:17:06- Oh, my goodness.- What? - It's so muddy!

0:17:07 > 0:17:11'It is only a bit of mud, Lindsey, no need to make a drama out of it.'

0:17:15 > 0:17:19I'm energetic, fun, I absolutely love doing drama at university,

0:17:19 > 0:17:21and I speak French.

0:17:23 > 0:17:27I love drama, messing around with my friends, I absolutely love it.

0:17:27 > 0:17:30I think being part of ten is not good enough.

0:17:30 > 0:17:34It's pretty good, but I could do better.

0:17:36 > 0:17:38I just want to be a Blue Peter presenter.

0:17:41 > 0:17:45- OK, Lindsey, you've done your bit. Change.- OK.

0:17:45 > 0:17:48So, it is Emma's turn to lead.

0:17:48 > 0:17:50Can she get the hopefuls to the finish line?

0:17:50 > 0:17:55- Lindsey, are you at the back? - No, I'm not attached!

0:17:55 > 0:17:57What is that?!

0:17:57 > 0:18:00OK, guys, guys, guys. Can I move forward?

0:18:01 > 0:18:04Guys, guys!

0:18:04 > 0:18:05Guys!

0:18:05 > 0:18:08I don't want to have to count down like a teacher.

0:18:08 > 0:18:11'Emma is clearly at home at the top of the class

0:18:11 > 0:18:13'and there's a good reason for that.'

0:18:14 > 0:18:17I love my job, I love teaching,

0:18:17 > 0:18:20I love being creative and having fun.

0:18:20 > 0:18:22MAKES SPOOKY WAIL

0:18:22 > 0:18:24Stop. It's too scary, stop!

0:18:24 > 0:18:28I enjoy winning, and I do get a little competitive at times.

0:18:28 > 0:18:30Shall we do some singing?

0:18:30 > 0:18:31ALL: Yes!

0:18:31 > 0:18:35This is my chance to achieve a dream.

0:18:35 > 0:18:39# I've got a feeling... #

0:18:39 > 0:18:40It sounds so cheesy, but it is,

0:18:40 > 0:18:43because that's what I've always said.

0:18:43 > 0:18:45You know, I love teaching, I love what I'm doing,

0:18:45 > 0:18:48but being on Blue Peter would... be it.

0:18:51 > 0:18:55Just to finish off - a nice tunnel.

0:18:56 > 0:18:58Is that him out? Well done, Emma.

0:18:58 > 0:19:05'It's not been easy. But the final ten have finally made it.'

0:19:05 > 0:19:07Right, I'm at the other end.

0:19:07 > 0:19:08CHEERING

0:19:08 > 0:19:10Come on, Isaac!

0:19:12 > 0:19:16Yes! Nice one, you lot.

0:19:19 > 0:19:23'Challenge one may be over, but there's no rest

0:19:23 > 0:19:26'when they're fighting for the best job in TV.'

0:19:26 > 0:19:28Great work on the first challenge, guys.

0:19:28 > 0:19:31It's now time for your first talent test.

0:19:31 > 0:19:35The judges will be viewing this back at Judge HQ.

0:19:35 > 0:19:39OK, behind us here, on the rope, we've got ten Blue Peter badges.

0:19:39 > 0:19:41When we say so, run towards the badges,

0:19:41 > 0:19:44take one off, it will tell you which team you're going to be in.

0:19:44 > 0:19:46- Are you ready?- ALL: Yes. - Go.

0:19:51 > 0:19:53OK, so over here we've got the Doms.

0:19:53 > 0:19:55And over here we've got the Dicks.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58Right, then, you've got to make up a story of how your team

0:19:58 > 0:20:00worked together in the last challenge.

0:20:00 > 0:20:02And the story's got to be continuous.

0:20:02 > 0:20:05So let's say, for example, Freddie, you would start a story,

0:20:05 > 0:20:06do 15 seconds,

0:20:06 > 0:20:09- and then the story's got to continue from each person.- OK?

0:20:09 > 0:20:10- Yes.- Great.

0:20:10 > 0:20:13You've got stopwatches to make sure you don't go over the allotted time.

0:20:13 > 0:20:15The time starts now.

0:20:15 > 0:20:17'The talent tests are our hopefuls' chance to

0:20:17 > 0:20:20'show their presenting skills to the judges.'

0:20:20 > 0:20:22- You see, I reckon you start. - I'll start.

0:20:22 > 0:20:24'They must speak to the camera with energy,

0:20:24 > 0:20:28'enthusiasm and remember to make complete sense.'

0:20:28 > 0:20:30It's hard, isn't it?

0:20:30 > 0:20:34'Failure to do so could mean they face elimination at Judges' HQ.'

0:20:34 > 0:20:35Ready, steady, go.

0:20:35 > 0:20:38'And with only six people going through to the next round

0:20:38 > 0:20:41'the heat is on to deliver.'

0:20:41 > 0:20:43It puts a little bit more pressure on,

0:20:43 > 0:20:45knowing that the judges are going to be scrutinising us.

0:20:45 > 0:20:48Hopefully, they'll take on good points as well as bad points

0:20:48 > 0:20:49that we can work on as well,

0:20:49 > 0:20:51and put it all together and see who they want.

0:20:51 > 0:20:54I'll be sad to see some people go, but...I want to win.

0:20:54 > 0:20:58'With the clock ticking, everyone's keen to get cracking

0:20:58 > 0:21:00'and in Team Dom, Shona's taking control.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03I will do this when you're done, or do you want me to tell you to stop?

0:21:03 > 0:21:04- All right.- OK.

0:21:04 > 0:21:07'But for her, it is all in a day's work.'

0:21:10 > 0:21:15I work behind the scenes in television at the moment.

0:21:15 > 0:21:18My day-to-day job is briefing presenters, telling them

0:21:18 > 0:21:20what they need to do.

0:21:20 > 0:21:23So we're going to start with a VT about the best exit...

0:21:23 > 0:21:26It's always been my dream to be a Blue Peter presenter

0:21:26 > 0:21:28since I was watching as a little girl.

0:21:28 > 0:21:31So this is what I really love to do - use my creative side

0:21:31 > 0:21:33and just get on my sewing machine.

0:21:33 > 0:21:36I think, when it comes to something like this, that I want

0:21:36 > 0:21:38so badly and is a dream for me,

0:21:38 > 0:21:41I might get a little bit competitive.

0:21:41 > 0:21:43And here's one I made earlier.

0:21:45 > 0:21:48Team Dom! Whoo!

0:21:48 > 0:21:51'Over at Team Dick, they're wondering about a more creative approach.'

0:21:51 > 0:21:53Are we going to make it like a song or a rap?

0:21:53 > 0:21:55It's supposed to be presenting, isn't it, so I think

0:21:55 > 0:21:58let's think about what we're going to say first

0:21:58 > 0:22:00- and then if it works, it works. - All right, cool, cool.

0:22:00 > 0:22:02'Andy's taking charge...'

0:22:02 > 0:22:03- Ready?- Yeah, ready.

0:22:03 > 0:22:06But then he's used to competing against the clock.

0:22:08 > 0:22:13I'm pretty determined. When I set my sights on something, I go for it.

0:22:13 > 0:22:15But I don't take things too seriously, I think.

0:22:17 > 0:22:19This is extremely important.

0:22:19 > 0:22:21To have the chance to be a Blue Peter presenter

0:22:21 > 0:22:23would be a dream for me.

0:22:23 > 0:22:26Oh, look, I seem to have stumbled onto the top of the podium.

0:22:26 > 0:22:30Maybe this is a sign of things to come on the Blue Peter challenges.

0:22:32 > 0:22:37'Time is up. And time to see if our ten presenters can do the job.

0:22:37 > 0:22:39'First, it's Team Dick.'

0:22:39 > 0:22:42So we met Dick and Dom at the top of the hill, where our first

0:22:42 > 0:22:44challenge was revealed. This was an obstacle course.

0:22:44 > 0:22:46To make things even harder, we then find out

0:22:46 > 0:22:49we had to be blindfolded and attached to each other.

0:22:49 > 0:22:52From there, it was three things - mud, mud and more mud.

0:22:52 > 0:22:54So, the first two leaders were myself and Ross

0:22:54 > 0:22:56and during this time, it was finding out

0:22:56 > 0:22:58how we were going to communicate as a team.

0:22:58 > 0:23:00Was the leader going to shout to everyone and tell them what to do?

0:23:00 > 0:23:03By obstacle number three, I think we'd got it sorted.

0:23:03 > 0:23:05Just about, but not quite.

0:23:05 > 0:23:07The next challenge was the net, which was the hardest of them yet,

0:23:07 > 0:23:10and considering we'd only just met each other,

0:23:10 > 0:23:12we definitely had a lot of bums to faces going on.

0:23:12 > 0:23:14However, we battled it through

0:23:14 > 0:23:16and then we just wondered, "What's going to be next?"

0:23:16 > 0:23:19Oh, they had plenty for us next. From drama to drama.

0:23:19 > 0:23:22We now had to wiggle our way through a tyre filled with bog.

0:23:22 > 0:23:26This definitely took the person in front and the person behind

0:23:26 > 0:23:29helping you shift your way through, but we made it together.

0:23:29 > 0:23:32And then we got to the end - the final, final obstacle.

0:23:32 > 0:23:35This was where the most important part of the teamwork came in.

0:23:35 > 0:23:37Encouraging each other and celebrating

0:23:37 > 0:23:38when we all got there and won.

0:23:38 > 0:23:40So we slid through the tunnel and that was it.

0:23:40 > 0:23:42- Great teamwork, well done! - CHEERING

0:23:43 > 0:23:46'So a good start by Team Dick. No pressure, Team Dom.'

0:23:46 > 0:23:49This is the story of the blind trail challenge.

0:23:49 > 0:23:50I was the first team leader,

0:23:50 > 0:23:52we were ready to go, but we were blindfolded.

0:23:52 > 0:23:54It was completely pitch black.

0:23:54 > 0:23:56We couldn't see a thing in front of us, so we were excited,

0:23:56 > 0:24:00but also a little bit scared because we had no idea what was ahead of us.

0:24:00 > 0:24:03We made it towards the first obstacle, we got it over,

0:24:03 > 0:24:06easy-peasy, just the bench. And then, what happened next?

0:24:06 > 0:24:10And then the net came. So, the net broke ourselves.

0:24:10 > 0:24:12It was really emotional, I was the team leader for that.

0:24:12 > 0:24:15I had to get my team through an army net on the floor.

0:24:15 > 0:24:17It was cold, it was claustrophobic, we really started arguing,

0:24:17 > 0:24:19there were a few tears, but then...

0:24:19 > 0:24:21We emerged out of the net

0:24:21 > 0:24:24and we realised it was the perfect opportunity to bring our morale

0:24:24 > 0:24:26back up, so voices got going again,

0:24:26 > 0:24:29the smiles came out, high-fives running down the line,

0:24:29 > 0:24:32and we were ready for the next obstacle, which was...

0:24:32 > 0:24:34Oh, yes, the next obstacle was the tyre.

0:24:34 > 0:24:38We had to figure out a way to get ten people through a tyre.

0:24:38 > 0:24:40Were we going to go leg first, headfirst? In the end,

0:24:40 > 0:24:45we had to go bum first and leg first into the bog, and then came...

0:24:45 > 0:24:47Oh, yes, we were down, we were dirty.

0:24:47 > 0:24:50We got ourselves back up, just to get ourselves back down again.

0:24:50 > 0:24:52I was team-leading, I took us through the barrel.

0:24:52 > 0:24:55We crawled through as fast as we could just to emerge

0:24:55 > 0:24:56gloriously as a team!

0:24:56 > 0:24:59- CHEERING - Yes, Team Dom!

0:25:01 > 0:25:07'An amazing job by both teams. Great stories, and in perfect time.

0:25:07 > 0:25:10'It's going to be a tough decision for those judges.'

0:25:10 > 0:25:13There's nearly half of us going home after today

0:25:13 > 0:25:15so...it's nerve-racking, it really is nerve-racking.

0:25:15 > 0:25:18I'd love to say, "I think I've got it, I think I'm there."

0:25:18 > 0:25:20I don't, I am feeling nervous.

0:25:20 > 0:25:23It does hit home that you're not here just for fun and games.

0:25:23 > 0:25:27You're here... Someone's going to get the Blue Peter job.

0:25:27 > 0:25:30'So our hopefuls have just embarked on the biggest challenge

0:25:30 > 0:25:32'of their lives.'

0:25:32 > 0:25:36One of you will become the third presenter of Blue Peter.

0:25:36 > 0:25:38CHEERING

0:25:38 > 0:25:41'Coming up, the ten are pushed to their limits.'

0:25:41 > 0:25:42Go, go, go!

0:25:42 > 0:25:45'They face the judges in Judges' HQ.'

0:25:45 > 0:25:50Unfortunately, four of you will be leaving us today.

0:25:50 > 0:25:54'Have they got what it takes to be the next Blue Peter presenter?'

0:25:58 > 0:26:02With the morning activities complete, it's time to crank up the heat with

0:26:02 > 0:26:06a super tough challenge, but first we've decided to have a little break.

0:26:10 > 0:26:14"Gone fishing, come find us."

0:26:14 > 0:26:17I think that way. They must be near.

0:26:17 > 0:26:19Hello!

0:26:19 > 0:26:21Hello! You lot, we're here!

0:26:21 > 0:26:24CHEERING

0:26:24 > 0:26:27We went out fishing when you were doing the talent test

0:26:27 > 0:26:32and our dinghy's got blown over, so we need you to help us.

0:26:32 > 0:26:34LAUGHTER

0:26:34 > 0:26:37Luckily, by some unbelievable coincidence,

0:26:37 > 0:26:42your next challenge is to build a raft.

0:26:42 > 0:26:44- A raft?- A raft.

0:26:44 > 0:26:47It's time to put yourselves into your two teams.

0:26:47 > 0:26:51The Doms have to rescue me.

0:26:51 > 0:26:54And the Dicks have to rescue me.

0:26:54 > 0:26:57There's a special prize for the winning team.

0:26:57 > 0:27:00CHEERING

0:27:00 > 0:27:01Go, go, go!

0:27:03 > 0:27:05Hurry up, it's flipping freezing!

0:27:08 > 0:27:11'So, for the next challenge, our hopefuls have to build a raft

0:27:11 > 0:27:13'and race to our rescue.

0:27:13 > 0:27:16'Their teamwork skills will be tested to the max.

0:27:16 > 0:27:17'This really is sink or swim.'

0:27:17 > 0:27:19Right, let's go back for some poles.

0:27:19 > 0:27:25'In Team Dick, we have Andy, Isaac, Hettie, Kerry and Emma.'

0:27:25 > 0:27:27My feet are wet.

0:27:27 > 0:27:31'And in Team Dom, we have Shona, Freddie and Ben,

0:27:31 > 0:27:32'and Lindsey and Ross.'

0:27:32 > 0:27:35They've got to, once they've picked us up, take us down

0:27:35 > 0:27:36to the other end of the lake

0:27:36 > 0:27:40and although it looks like a nice, clear, sunny day, it is cold.

0:27:40 > 0:27:42Let's just hope that they float.

0:27:42 > 0:27:44Shall we get a floor plan laid out?

0:27:44 > 0:27:46The weakest points are where we put the barrels.

0:27:46 > 0:27:50If something goes wrong there and we lose one then it's game over.

0:27:50 > 0:27:55'In Team Dom, Ross already has a plan, but then this is his thing.'

0:27:58 > 0:28:01Three, two, one!

0:28:01 > 0:28:05I work as a science communicator, which basically means that

0:28:05 > 0:28:08I help people to understand science.

0:28:08 > 0:28:11There's nothing better than seeing the reactions on people's faces

0:28:11 > 0:28:14when you show them something incredible.

0:28:14 > 0:28:18When I'm in a group situation, I tend to take the role of a leader.

0:28:18 > 0:28:20I like to come up with a lot of ideas.

0:28:20 > 0:28:22A real human brain.

0:28:23 > 0:28:25I want this more than anything.

0:28:25 > 0:28:30And so, hopefully, we can go from 20,000 to just 1.

0:28:32 > 0:28:36That's Team Dom sorted, how about Team Dick?

0:28:36 > 0:28:37How are we going to put this together?

0:28:37 > 0:28:40I'm lost, I'm not going to lie, I am completely lost.

0:28:40 > 0:28:42Looks like I'm going to be out here for some time.

0:28:42 > 0:28:46- So, no-one here went to Girl Guides or Scouts?- No!- Great.

0:28:46 > 0:28:49'Kerry might be regretting that now.

0:28:49 > 0:28:52'Growing up, she was too busy busting some moves.'

0:28:57 > 0:29:00Dance has been a very important part of my life

0:29:00 > 0:29:03since I was about six or seven.

0:29:03 > 0:29:04There's lots of different styles

0:29:04 > 0:29:06and sorts of different ways

0:29:06 > 0:29:09to express your emotion and your feelings.

0:29:09 > 0:29:11I'm going to stand out from the others

0:29:11 > 0:29:14by just remaining true to myself.

0:29:14 > 0:29:15I'm going to give you

0:29:15 > 0:29:18all of my Kerry and Berry-isms, I like to call it.

0:29:18 > 0:29:20This is what I want to do.

0:29:20 > 0:29:22I'm really passionate about it. I'm going to go for it.

0:29:24 > 0:29:28Team Dick, Team Dom, you have 15 minutes left!

0:29:28 > 0:29:30- Oh, my goodness!- Oh, my word!

0:29:30 > 0:29:34None of us are 100% sure on quite what we're doing.

0:29:34 > 0:29:35On the plus side, we can all swim.

0:29:35 > 0:29:39'So, Team Dick could be in trouble, and to make matters worse,

0:29:39 > 0:29:43'they're about to find out it's time for their second Talent Test.

0:29:43 > 0:29:46'The idea of this one is to see how good they are

0:29:46 > 0:29:50'at telling us what's happening when they're under pressure.

0:29:50 > 0:29:51'So when we shout out..'

0:29:51 > 0:29:54Right, Shona, it's your turn!

0:29:54 > 0:29:56That's me! That's me!

0:29:56 > 0:29:59'..they've got to go straight to a camera and give us an update.'

0:29:59 > 0:30:01So, things are looking good with the raft.

0:30:01 > 0:30:05We're just bolstering our buoyancy aids on each corner there.

0:30:05 > 0:30:07We're just trying to get as much tightness

0:30:07 > 0:30:08with that rope straight round

0:30:08 > 0:30:11so that it's just going to hold it really nicely in place.

0:30:11 > 0:30:14Isaac, it's your turn!

0:30:14 > 0:30:16One problem we're trying to work out is the rope situation.

0:30:16 > 0:30:18Once that rope's all tied, we'll be sorted.

0:30:18 > 0:30:20Go on, Ross!

0:30:20 > 0:30:22We're checking all the knots,

0:30:22 > 0:30:24we're making sure that everyone's got something to do

0:30:24 > 0:30:26and there's no-one that doesn't have a job.

0:30:26 > 0:30:28So we best get back to it.

0:30:30 > 0:30:33So their second Talent Tests are under way,

0:30:33 > 0:30:36and my team's raft is definitely taking shape.

0:30:36 > 0:30:38Your lot still struggling, Dick?

0:30:38 > 0:30:40That's it, that's it. Well, is it?

0:30:40 > 0:30:42No, it's not. Too wide. Way too wide.

0:30:42 > 0:30:44My team are just...

0:30:44 > 0:30:46Oh, they're just in meltdown, basically.

0:30:46 > 0:30:48What's happening? Mayhem! Mayhem is happening!

0:30:48 > 0:30:51But this is good. You learn from your mistakes.

0:30:51 > 0:30:55Well, Hettie's staying positive, but then, that's her usual take on life.

0:30:58 > 0:31:01I'm a lover of life and all things living.

0:31:01 > 0:31:03Sounds a bit cheesy, but it's true.

0:31:03 > 0:31:05Blooming midges!

0:31:05 > 0:31:08They're biting my head! Hello!

0:31:08 > 0:31:11'I like fun, I love a laugh, I'm up for a challenge.'

0:31:11 > 0:31:13Here I am in the wolves' lair!

0:31:13 > 0:31:15This is massively important to me.

0:31:15 > 0:31:16At first, it was just a bit of fun...

0:31:16 > 0:31:18Wahey!

0:31:18 > 0:31:21..but as it's gone on, I've got more and more hungry

0:31:21 > 0:31:23for that endgame, so this is big.

0:31:23 > 0:31:27Blue Peter, here I come! Woo!

0:31:27 > 0:31:32Hettie, it's up to you to impress the judges now. Tell us how you're doing.

0:31:32 > 0:31:34We've got less than half the ta...time left.

0:31:34 > 0:31:36We did it all wrong, apparently.

0:31:36 > 0:31:37OK, Emma.

0:31:37 > 0:31:42It's been horrible, I'm not going to lie. It's been awful.

0:31:42 > 0:31:43Ben, it's your turn.

0:31:43 > 0:31:44The wind is really blowing hard,

0:31:44 > 0:31:46but I think we're doing really well as a team.

0:31:46 > 0:31:48Everything's coming together.

0:31:48 > 0:31:50Kerry, turn to the camera.

0:31:50 > 0:31:55We're just going to keep lashing and doing ropes and hope for the best.

0:31:55 > 0:31:58So... that is basically what our plan is right now.

0:31:58 > 0:32:00Go on...

0:32:00 > 0:32:02THEY LAUGH

0:32:02 > 0:32:04Go on, Freddie!

0:32:04 > 0:32:06Hopefully the knots are strong enough to keep us sound

0:32:06 > 0:32:07when we're going to save Dom,

0:32:07 > 0:32:10which we're going to do, and we're going to win.

0:32:10 > 0:32:11We're going to win, aren't we?

0:32:11 > 0:32:13- ALL: Yeah! - Yeah, we're feeling confident.

0:32:13 > 0:32:15With time running out,

0:32:15 > 0:32:18Team Dick look like they need a "new" strategy.

0:32:18 > 0:32:21I'm not stealing tips, right, but we need to do this. Like that.

0:32:21 > 0:32:25They're looking over and copying my team's design!

0:32:25 > 0:32:26Nothing wrong with that.

0:32:26 > 0:32:28What do you mean, there's nothing wrong with it?!

0:32:28 > 0:32:32Oi, you lot! Dick's team! Stop copying the Doms!

0:32:32 > 0:32:34We're not cheating at all!

0:32:34 > 0:32:37I did not see that team do this.

0:32:37 > 0:32:39This is 100% our idea.

0:32:43 > 0:32:46I'd describe myself as a laid-back person.

0:32:46 > 0:32:49I like to get on with people, I like to have some fun.

0:32:49 > 0:32:50I'm just your typical teenager.

0:32:50 > 0:32:51Ref!

0:32:51 > 0:32:54Get in there!

0:32:54 > 0:32:57Massive sports fan, and growing up, I was just...

0:32:57 > 0:32:59all I wanted to do was be a footballer.

0:32:59 > 0:33:02I mean, even doing keepy-uppys, you need a certain degree of skill.

0:33:02 > 0:33:05To become a Blue Peter presenter would be massively important to me.

0:33:05 > 0:33:08You need to be calm, be relaxed, confident.

0:33:08 > 0:33:10When it comes to competition time,

0:33:10 > 0:33:12it's all about winning, at the end of the day.

0:33:12 > 0:33:17And when it goes wrong like that, you've just got to deal with it.

0:33:17 > 0:33:20OK, guys, time is up!

0:33:20 > 0:33:22And both teams do have a raft in place.

0:33:22 > 0:33:25THEY CHEER

0:33:25 > 0:33:26We're not just going to win it.

0:33:26 > 0:33:29We're going to thrash them. Absolutely thrash them.

0:33:29 > 0:33:30Team Dick is going down!

0:33:30 > 0:33:34Right, Andy, turn to camera and give it your all, fella!

0:33:34 > 0:33:36It's not the prettiest of rafts,

0:33:36 > 0:33:38but fingers crossed, it's going to float.

0:33:38 > 0:33:40Lindsay!

0:33:40 > 0:33:42It is officially go time.

0:33:42 > 0:33:43It's going to be amazing.

0:33:43 > 0:33:46We've worked hard at this. There are knots everywhere.

0:33:46 > 0:33:48- Let's go! Let's go, team! - THEY CHEER

0:33:48 > 0:33:50'All that remains...'

0:33:50 > 0:33:51Let's do it!

0:33:51 > 0:33:53'..is the actual race.'

0:33:53 > 0:33:57Three, two, one, go!

0:33:57 > 0:34:01- Go, go, go, go, go!- Whoa! Oh, no!

0:34:01 > 0:34:04Both teams are in. The race has begun.

0:34:07 > 0:34:09Your seat, your seat's gone, look!

0:34:09 > 0:34:11It's actually tipping over! You've got to sit on it!

0:34:11 > 0:34:13How I going to get onto that?

0:34:13 > 0:34:17That's not my problem, my friend! That's not my problem!

0:34:17 > 0:34:20'Team Dom are it to win it!'

0:34:21 > 0:34:26Come on, Doms! Come on! Put your backs into it!

0:34:26 > 0:34:29- My side, my side! - Look, you're one's collapsing.

0:34:29 > 0:34:32Come on, Dicks! We're going to win this!

0:34:32 > 0:34:34- Mate, yours is sinking. - It's working!- No, it's not working.

0:34:34 > 0:34:36- It's sinking.- It's not sinking!

0:34:38 > 0:34:40It's not meant to sink, therefore it's not working.

0:34:42 > 0:34:45- They've also got five people paddling.- I know, and I can't...

0:34:45 > 0:34:47I think I'm going to put my hat on

0:34:47 > 0:34:49- and get ready for a nice comfy ride back.- Oh, man!

0:34:49 > 0:34:52Dom! Dom! Here they come!

0:34:52 > 0:34:55Good work! Good work!

0:35:04 > 0:35:06Right, give me your oar. Right, OK.

0:35:08 > 0:35:11Good work! Look at this!

0:35:11 > 0:35:14Well done, everyone. Get in!

0:35:14 > 0:35:17'As my team heads to the finish line,

0:35:17 > 0:35:19'Dick hasn't even made it off the dinghy.'

0:35:19 > 0:35:22Look at the state of that!

0:35:22 > 0:35:25How on EARTH am I supposed to sit in that chair?

0:35:25 > 0:35:31Don't be afraid, it's all right! We've come here to rescue you!

0:35:31 > 0:35:34Would you get on that? Look at it!

0:35:40 > 0:35:44- THEY CHANT - Dom! Dom! Dom!

0:35:44 > 0:35:46What, I've been stranded there for 40 minutes

0:35:46 > 0:35:50and now I've got to paddle myself back?!

0:35:50 > 0:35:54- THEY CHANT - Dom! Dom! Dom!

0:35:54 > 0:35:58- You built a raft, and it floats. - It's not sunk!

0:35:58 > 0:36:00HE SQUEALS

0:36:00 > 0:36:02The barrel's moved!

0:36:02 > 0:36:04'While my team struggle at sea,

0:36:04 > 0:36:09'Team Dom are moments from taking the race.'

0:36:09 > 0:36:11All the way! Come on!

0:36:11 > 0:36:13Yes!

0:36:13 > 0:36:16THEY CHEER

0:36:16 > 0:36:17Well done, guys!

0:36:17 > 0:36:19Fantastic!

0:36:19 > 0:36:21Get them back, quick!

0:36:21 > 0:36:24CHEERING

0:36:24 > 0:36:26Winners!

0:36:26 > 0:36:28Come on, forward!

0:36:28 > 0:36:29Come on, team!

0:36:29 > 0:36:33THEY SHOUT ENCOURAGEMENT

0:36:33 > 0:36:34Come on!

0:36:34 > 0:36:37We didn't sink! THEY CHEER

0:36:37 > 0:36:39'Their raft may be half-submerged...'

0:36:39 > 0:36:41Yay, we're here!

0:36:41 > 0:36:43'..but Team Dick finally make it to the shore.'

0:36:43 > 0:36:44I'm getting out of here!

0:36:44 > 0:36:48THEY CHEER AND APPLAUD

0:36:48 > 0:36:52'So, a valiant effort, it's a victorious Team Dom.'

0:36:52 > 0:36:53That is amazing!

0:36:53 > 0:36:55'And a very soggy Team Dick.

0:36:55 > 0:36:59'But if our hopefuls think that's it for the day...

0:36:59 > 0:37:01'they'd be very wrong.'

0:37:01 > 0:37:04Nice one again, Team Dom, and commiserations, Team Dick.

0:37:04 > 0:37:05But it did float and I didn't get wet,

0:37:05 > 0:37:08so I'll give you 100 points for that. That's all that matters.

0:37:08 > 0:37:11Before you go today, you've got to do your final Talent Test.

0:37:11 > 0:37:14You're all going to have one minute each to tell us

0:37:14 > 0:37:16about your story of building the raft as a team.

0:37:16 > 0:37:20Remember, what you're about to do, the judges are going to be watching.

0:37:20 > 0:37:23- It's your final chance to impress them. Good luck.- Good luck.

0:37:25 > 0:37:28It's the final Talent Test on their last chance to try

0:37:28 > 0:37:31and secure one of those six places in next week's show.

0:37:31 > 0:37:33Today...blah!

0:37:33 > 0:37:37Can our exhausted ten find the energy to present their raft race story?

0:37:37 > 0:37:41So, how did I go about winning this gorgeous medal?

0:37:41 > 0:37:43Well, I'm going to carry you along the story

0:37:43 > 0:37:45and put you in my now very soggy shoes.

0:37:45 > 0:37:49We basically began with no plan at all.

0:37:49 > 0:37:52We just decided to tie ropes round the wood and round the barrel

0:37:52 > 0:37:54in a kind of square formation.

0:37:54 > 0:37:55I have to be honest with you,

0:37:55 > 0:37:59I've never built a raft before, so it's slightly daunting.

0:37:59 > 0:38:03But from the outset, Team Dom just had such a positive mental attitude.

0:38:03 > 0:38:06We all kind of got a little bit too keen and went gung ho,

0:38:06 > 0:38:08so we were strapping things together...

0:38:08 > 0:38:10We had a Plan A, a Plan B, a Plan C, a Plan D.

0:38:10 > 0:38:12I don't know how many plans we had.

0:38:12 > 0:38:15The craft that we finally made, we were convinced it was going

0:38:15 > 0:38:18to sink, and as I stood on that shore, I was quite scared.

0:38:18 > 0:38:19I thought I was going to go in.

0:38:19 > 0:38:22I didn't think we would rescue him. I thought would be a disaster.

0:38:22 > 0:38:24Start of the race came, and that was

0:38:24 > 0:38:26when they really gelled as a team,

0:38:26 > 0:38:28got into a rhythm of, "Dom! Dom! Dom! Dom!"

0:38:28 > 0:38:32And then, that's when we saw Dom in his bright yellow jacket,

0:38:32 > 0:38:34shining like a beacon of light and we thought, "We have done this!"

0:38:34 > 0:38:38We got all the way over to Dick, we got him on board, and you know what,

0:38:38 > 0:38:40he didn't get to sit in his VIP seat,

0:38:40 > 0:38:41but he did get to help us paddle.

0:38:41 > 0:38:44The guys I've worked with are absolutely fantastic.

0:38:44 > 0:38:48It was a credit to all of them. Would I do it again? 110%.

0:38:48 > 0:38:50In the end, we won, I got this awesome medal,

0:38:50 > 0:38:53and Team Dick should have known not to mess with Team Dom. All right!

0:38:53 > 0:38:55HE LAUGHS

0:39:02 > 0:39:04It's been an action-packed day, hasn't it?

0:39:04 > 0:39:06I mean, they've been pushed to the limits.

0:39:06 > 0:39:09But, as we know, that's what you expect from a Blue Peter presenter.

0:39:09 > 0:39:11They've been brilliant. But they've done all they can.

0:39:11 > 0:39:13Their fate is in the hands of the judges.

0:40:28 > 0:40:30I grew up watching it.

0:40:30 > 0:40:33I would have done anything to get my hands on a Blue Peter badge.

0:40:33 > 0:40:35Hello! Hi!

0:40:35 > 0:40:37'I know what I'm looking for.'

0:40:41 > 0:40:44It's your chance to unwind with lots of lovely soothing music...

0:40:44 > 0:40:48I kind of feel a huge responsibility to what I'm about to undertake.

0:40:48 > 0:40:50And finally, Cel Spellman.

0:40:50 > 0:40:53- So, if you ever need a chat. - I'm all right, thanks.

0:40:53 > 0:40:56What are you doing, Josh? What are you talking to him for?

0:40:56 > 0:40:58I was an actor on Waterloo Road. I played Harry Fisher.

0:40:58 > 0:41:02I then started presenting Friday Download on CBBC.

0:41:02 > 0:41:04And I also present on the channel,

0:41:04 > 0:41:06doing the live links in between shows.

0:41:06 > 0:41:08So, I guess it's time to get to it.

0:41:08 > 0:41:11'I am so excited about being a judge for this show.'

0:41:11 > 0:41:13- Let's do this!- OK.

0:41:13 > 0:41:16The hopefuls are going to have to be the best of the best.

0:41:16 > 0:41:18I mean, this is a Blue Peter presenter. They become icons.

0:41:18 > 0:41:20And, news just in...

0:41:20 > 0:41:21There's no room for failures.

0:41:21 > 0:41:23We only want winners.

0:41:25 > 0:41:29It's the first time we've seen the hopefuls in action,

0:41:29 > 0:41:32and they've already got plenty to say.

0:41:32 > 0:41:34Only yacht...yacht?

0:41:34 > 0:41:36That's a bit bossy, isn't it?! Raft!

0:41:36 > 0:41:39He made a mistake. You know, that can make all the difference

0:41:39 > 0:41:41between deciding between one person and the next.

0:41:41 > 0:41:44But all the hopefuls can do is wait.

0:41:44 > 0:41:47- How are you feeling?- Nervous.

0:41:47 > 0:41:48You seem like you've really bonded.

0:41:48 > 0:41:51Yeah, and that's what's going to make today even harder.

0:41:51 > 0:41:53The fact that four have got to go.

0:41:53 > 0:41:58There's only one badge and only one of these ten can get the job.

0:41:58 > 0:42:02- I'm feeling more nervous than I ever have.- Wow!

0:42:02 > 0:42:04To be given this opportunity has just been the best

0:42:04 > 0:42:06experience of my life.

0:42:06 > 0:42:09But then, to leave it would just be horrible.

0:42:09 > 0:42:10- I like him!- I really do!

0:42:10 > 0:42:14Yeah, he smiles a lot. Well...

0:42:14 > 0:42:17Let's do it. Let's get them in.

0:42:21 > 0:42:23Hi, guys. How are we all feeling? All right?

0:42:23 > 0:42:26Well, it's time to finally meet the judges. Follow us.

0:42:35 > 0:42:36Four will go today.

0:42:36 > 0:42:40Six will get one step closer to the public vote.

0:42:42 > 0:42:44But in the end, only ONE will wear the badge

0:42:44 > 0:42:47and become the next Blue Peter presenter.

0:42:48 > 0:42:51Right, good luck, everyone.

0:42:54 > 0:42:57Guys, hello, and welcome to Judges' HQ.

0:42:57 > 0:43:00We know all of you very much want to be

0:43:00 > 0:43:02the next Blue Peter presenter,

0:43:02 > 0:43:06but unfortunately, four of you will be leaving us today.

0:43:08 > 0:43:14It's pretty staggering that out of 20,000 people, you're the final ten.

0:43:16 > 0:43:17I work a lot on the channel,

0:43:17 > 0:43:20what the kids are like and what their interests are, and it's going

0:43:20 > 0:43:23to be really interesting to see which of you have what it takes.

0:43:23 > 0:43:25You are here to earn what I have never earned,

0:43:25 > 0:43:28and that is a Blue Peter badge.

0:43:28 > 0:43:33Being a Blue Peter presenter is one of the best jobs on television,

0:43:33 > 0:43:35but you've got to earn it.

0:43:38 > 0:43:41Right, your first challenge was all about teamwork.

0:43:41 > 0:43:45We've watched all of your talent tests. Andy, you're up first.

0:43:48 > 0:43:52Pretty dodgy at first, we weren't quite sure what we would do.

0:43:52 > 0:43:56We didn't quite have a plan and you know what, it's not the prettiest

0:43:56 > 0:44:00of rafts, but fingers crossed it's going to float.

0:44:03 > 0:44:05Andy, never easy to go first.

0:44:05 > 0:44:09I liked that you were engaging with the action that was going on.

0:44:09 > 0:44:11However, you can already see the action.

0:44:11 > 0:44:13It's good to reference it a couple of times

0:44:13 > 0:44:16but I think you turn around four times in all. That's quite a lot.

0:44:16 > 0:44:20You did it very well, I thought. I liked it very much.

0:44:20 > 0:44:22I thought you were very inclusive

0:44:22 > 0:44:25because you were bringing the audience with you.

0:44:25 > 0:44:27- You did it in a very natural way. - Thank you.

0:44:27 > 0:44:31The audience was captivated on you but you just said "Do you know what"

0:44:31 > 0:44:33a few times. I did pick up on "Do you know what."

0:44:33 > 0:44:36Apart from that, really good.

0:44:36 > 0:44:37Thank you very much, Andy.

0:44:37 > 0:44:40So Andy's done. How will the others fare?

0:44:42 > 0:44:46The judges felt three of our hopefuls struggled with their style.

0:44:46 > 0:44:49We started the challenge and we all started to get together

0:44:49 > 0:44:52and put together lots of different ideas.

0:44:52 > 0:44:53We're all really confident people

0:44:53 > 0:44:56and we all had quite strong ideas for what should be done,

0:44:56 > 0:44:58but in the end, I think we came up with the best option.

0:44:58 > 0:45:02We were strapping things together. We had a plan A, plan B, plan C...

0:45:02 > 0:45:03I don't know how many plans we had.

0:45:03 > 0:45:06I cant wait to get out there, really. Just a bit cold.

0:45:06 > 0:45:10All right, I want to get back cos they need the muscles. Let's go!

0:45:11 > 0:45:14They thought Freddie was a bit OTT.

0:45:14 > 0:45:16How did you find watching that tape back?

0:45:18 > 0:45:21I'm a bit, "Aaaaaahh!"

0:45:22 > 0:45:24You've got to try and ground yourself.

0:45:24 > 0:45:27I don't want you to go the other way and stand stilted.

0:45:27 > 0:45:29You just need to keep it, "yeah, this is great,"

0:45:29 > 0:45:33but not, "YEAH!" Because then it's just wow!

0:45:33 > 0:45:36It's just trying to find that nice divide.

0:45:36 > 0:45:40Hettie needed to put the brakes on.

0:45:40 > 0:45:43Hettie, very good but I feel exhausted.

0:45:43 > 0:45:44Yeah!

0:45:44 > 0:45:48You're too fast, waving the hands about and things.

0:45:48 > 0:45:52There's a lot of kung fu ninja stuff going on here.

0:45:52 > 0:45:55I really like you, I think you're adorable.

0:45:55 > 0:45:59Don't jeopardise it for yourself. Be a warrior woman!

0:45:59 > 0:46:02And Ross was just trying too hard.

0:46:02 > 0:46:03Your content was great

0:46:03 > 0:46:06but your delivery could have been a lot better.

0:46:06 > 0:46:08There just seemed to be so much going on.

0:46:08 > 0:46:12You didn't slip up but I don't actually know what you said either

0:46:12 > 0:46:14because you didn't make it memorable.

0:46:14 > 0:46:18I know I can do more, I know I can do better.

0:46:18 > 0:46:20I struggled to rein it in.

0:46:20 > 0:46:24I don't need to say all of this. I can get away with saying that.

0:46:24 > 0:46:25- Less is more.- Yeah.

0:46:28 > 0:46:30For two of the hopefuls,

0:46:30 > 0:46:33Myleene thought it was a case of don't forget the day job.

0:46:33 > 0:46:36Team Dom just had such a positive mental attitude

0:46:36 > 0:46:38so we just went chanting, "Team Dom, Team Dom,"

0:46:38 > 0:46:41and as we were going, that just kept the morale up.

0:46:41 > 0:46:45It's been horrible. I'm not going to lie, it's been awful.

0:46:45 > 0:46:49I feel really disappointed because we really haven't got the vision.

0:46:49 > 0:46:51I want to be positive but I'm not too sure.

0:46:53 > 0:46:56I like you a lot but you're a schoolteacher.

0:46:56 > 0:46:59You are with those children every single day.

0:46:59 > 0:47:06- You need to draw on those experiences and you panicked.- Absolutely.

0:47:06 > 0:47:07You totally panicked.

0:47:09 > 0:47:12Miss Shona. One thing you have over this group is you've got

0:47:12 > 0:47:16a lot of experience behind the camera.

0:47:16 > 0:47:21Is there a big difference between being a producer and a presenter?

0:47:21 > 0:47:25There is, but I think I've learned a lot from being a producer

0:47:25 > 0:47:29that I'd like to bring in front of camera.

0:47:29 > 0:47:32- Obviously, here and now we're getting it. Put it on there.- Yeah.

0:47:34 > 0:47:38For the next three hopefuls, there was good and bad news.

0:47:38 > 0:47:41We got down to the shore with our boat and then it was go time.

0:47:41 > 0:47:43Three, two, one, we were off.

0:47:43 > 0:47:46- The race was going.- "Go, go, go!" - we were yelling.

0:47:46 > 0:47:51We're just going to keep lashing and doing ropes and hope for the best.

0:47:51 > 0:47:54That is basically what our plan is right now.

0:47:54 > 0:47:57I was on Team Dom and the main aim of our challenge was to create

0:47:57 > 0:48:00a raft of barrels and wood and rope.

0:48:00 > 0:48:02In the end, we won. I got this awesome medal

0:48:02 > 0:48:05and Team Dick should have known not to mess with Team Dom.

0:48:07 > 0:48:11Ben went on to cause an argument between the judges.

0:48:11 > 0:48:14Maybe sometimes be less happy.

0:48:15 > 0:48:19I do not know what you are talking about, about not being smiley.

0:48:19 > 0:48:22The difference with smiling, he verges on laughing,

0:48:22 > 0:48:23that's all I'm saying.

0:48:23 > 0:48:27Eamonn thought Lindsay needed to bring it up to date.

0:48:27 > 0:48:32Have you ever heard of a children's programme called Jackanory?

0:48:32 > 0:48:33Yeah.

0:48:33 > 0:48:38- What do they do on Jackanory? - Tell a story to children.

0:48:38 > 0:48:43Do you know what you did? You told it, you didn't speak it.

0:48:43 > 0:48:45It might feel like we're on a real downer here,

0:48:45 > 0:48:46but there's a lot of good points.

0:48:46 > 0:48:50- I'm annoyed how I presented myself. - I'd be annoyed too.- Really angry.

0:48:50 > 0:48:52I'd be annoyed if I was you, because you're better than that.

0:48:52 > 0:48:55And the judges wondered what happened to Kerry.

0:48:55 > 0:48:59You're feisty, I like that you're strong. A proper South London girl.

0:48:59 > 0:49:04- I want to see that.- Yeah. That is me.

0:49:04 > 0:49:07I feel like that may have been my weakest one, to be fair.

0:49:07 > 0:49:08Show us some of the banter.

0:49:12 > 0:49:14And finally, it was Isaac's turn.

0:49:14 > 0:49:16We start off very excited, very optimistic,

0:49:16 > 0:49:19but I'm not going to lie, we didn't start very well.

0:49:19 > 0:49:21We spent actually half the time building the raft,

0:49:21 > 0:49:25taking it apart, to make an absolutely...very average raft.

0:49:27 > 0:49:30That was only 30 seconds long.

0:49:30 > 0:49:33If I'm asked to do a minute, I can't do 30 seconds and be like, "So..."

0:49:33 > 0:49:37You have to be able to fill that time.

0:49:37 > 0:49:39You failed the challenge.

0:49:40 > 0:49:45Having said that, you are chilled, you are laid back,

0:49:45 > 0:49:49and all my presenting heroes are those things.

0:49:50 > 0:49:52Thank you, Isaac, you can join the rest of the team.

0:49:52 > 0:49:53Thank you very much.

0:49:56 > 0:49:58Well done to each of you.

0:49:58 > 0:50:04We've now got the very difficult task of eliminating four of you

0:50:04 > 0:50:06so as we enter into our final deliberations,

0:50:06 > 0:50:09could I please ask you to leave the room.

0:50:09 > 0:50:10Thank you very much.

0:50:12 > 0:50:15So the judges must now make some tough decisions.

0:50:15 > 0:50:18All the ten hopefuls can do is wait.

0:50:18 > 0:50:19How are you feeling?

0:50:21 > 0:50:24- You were kicking yourself at one point.- So angry at myself.

0:50:24 > 0:50:27When you see it on the screen in front of everyone

0:50:27 > 0:50:29and you have to stand there and take criticism.

0:50:29 > 0:50:31It was all constructive, but...

0:50:31 > 0:50:32We still do it with stuff we do today.

0:50:32 > 0:50:36You watch it back and go, "If only I'd just done it slightly different."

0:50:36 > 0:50:39I just know I can do so much better.

0:50:39 > 0:50:42- Just in the moment it became too much.- It went a bit crazy.

0:50:44 > 0:50:46And the judges are feeling the pressure too.

0:50:46 > 0:50:50The bottom line is we are going to have to say goodbye to four people.

0:50:52 > 0:50:55Well, where do you begin with that?

0:50:55 > 0:50:59Is it the case that this guy is a fantastic presenter

0:50:59 > 0:51:02and he can do it, but maybe this is not the right show for him?

0:51:04 > 0:51:06I've seen too many presenters like her.

0:51:07 > 0:51:09Don't think I get this guy.

0:51:09 > 0:51:11There's definitely something there

0:51:11 > 0:51:13but is there enough time to get it out?

0:51:13 > 0:51:18Is it just me or has this guy got something?

0:51:18 > 0:51:22I, having seen what we've seen today, can find three people.

0:51:22 > 0:51:24I've got three.

0:51:24 > 0:51:27- But the fourth person is a struggle. - We need the fourth.

0:51:31 > 0:51:34I think him. Agreed?

0:51:34 > 0:51:36- Yes.- Yes.

0:51:38 > 0:51:41There they are, waiting to go in.

0:51:41 > 0:51:42It's absolute silence now,

0:51:42 > 0:51:44they're not even talking to each other any more.

0:51:44 > 0:51:47- They're that nervous. - You really feel for them.

0:51:47 > 0:51:49You can see it in her eyes, can't you?

0:51:49 > 0:51:51You know how much this means to them. It really does.

0:51:51 > 0:51:54It's going to change their lives if they get this or go home now.

0:51:54 > 0:51:59- I'm nervous myself.- Think how they must feel.- Off they go.

0:52:04 > 0:52:06Hi, guys. How are you feeling?

0:52:07 > 0:52:09NERVOUS LAUGHTER

0:52:09 > 0:52:12It has been very tough, I can promise you that, but we have finally

0:52:12 > 0:52:16reached a decision as to which four of you are going to be leaving us

0:52:16 > 0:52:22today, so can I ask that Emma, Ross and Isaac step forward, please?

0:52:30 > 0:52:33Looking at you guys, you are all so different.

0:52:34 > 0:52:37Each of your skill sets is very different.

0:52:40 > 0:52:44However, what we did find is that one person struggled

0:52:44 > 0:52:49to connect as a presenter and engage us with their stories.

0:52:54 > 0:52:56The person that's leaving us today...

0:52:59 > 0:53:01..is Ross.

0:53:12 > 0:53:16Ross, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.

0:53:16 > 0:53:17- Thank you.- Thank you.

0:53:18 > 0:53:21Emma, well done, you've made it through.

0:53:21 > 0:53:24Isaac, breathe. You've made it through as well.

0:53:24 > 0:53:28I'm going to ask you both to rejoin the group.

0:53:33 > 0:53:35Absolutely heart-wrenching.

0:53:35 > 0:53:40I know I can do much more than what I've shown.

0:53:40 > 0:53:42I just really wanted this.

0:53:44 > 0:53:51Lindsay, Ben, Hettie and Kerry, could you please step forward?

0:54:01 > 0:54:06A Blue Peter presenter must be able to talk to a camera

0:54:06 > 0:54:10without getting lost for words.

0:54:10 > 0:54:11That was your task.

0:54:16 > 0:54:19Kerry, you lost those words.

0:54:19 > 0:54:22I'm so sorry, I've got to ask you to leave.

0:54:27 > 0:54:28Hettie, Lindsay and Ben,

0:54:28 > 0:54:32congratulations to you. You've made it through to the next stage.

0:54:32 > 0:54:33Please retake your places.

0:54:39 > 0:54:41I know I could do so much better.

0:54:41 > 0:54:44You did, look. You were in the last ten of that many people.
