0:00:02 > 0:00:04Hi. I'm George Lewis, and welcome to Extra Gear,
0:00:04 > 0:00:07the show that searches through the Top Gear secret files to find you
0:00:07 > 0:00:11motoring exclusives, more insider knowledge and the Stig's passport.
0:00:11 > 0:00:14Apparently he has no birthday.
0:00:14 > 0:00:16Tonight, we go behind the scenes on the Alfa Giulia shoot...
0:00:16 > 0:00:20What are the chances of me actually getting to it before it blows over?
0:00:20 > 0:00:22'Yeah. That is an issue.'
0:00:22 > 0:00:26We bring you bonus footage from Matt and Chris's American road trip...
0:00:26 > 0:00:28'Matt, are you OK?'
0:00:28 > 0:00:31And Chris reunites with his super saloon first love, the M3.
0:00:31 > 0:00:33TYRES SCREECH
0:00:33 > 0:00:35That's right, this is Extra Gear!
0:00:57 > 0:00:59CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
0:00:59 > 0:01:00What a show!
0:01:00 > 0:01:03Driving up ski slopes, freewheeling down mountains
0:01:03 > 0:01:05and drifting through a hole in the wall...
0:01:05 > 0:01:07Or not, as the case may be.
0:01:07 > 0:01:09In tonight's Alfa Giulia film,
0:01:09 > 0:01:12Chris was very nearly injured when he smashed his windscreen.
0:01:12 > 0:01:15Rory was also very nearly injured...
0:01:15 > 0:01:19by Chris, when he shouted "bring on the wall" for the fourth time.
0:01:19 > 0:01:21And now, as only Extra Gear can,
0:01:21 > 0:01:24we take you behind the scenes to have a closer look.
0:01:24 > 0:01:26Enjoy.
0:01:26 > 0:01:30So, today, Chris Harris is reviewing the new Alfa Giulia QV.
0:01:30 > 0:01:33This is his shoot, not mine, but I've turned up.
0:01:33 > 0:01:37I'm going to set him a very special challenge to just see
0:01:37 > 0:01:39exactly how good he is at driving. Let's go do this.
0:01:39 > 0:01:41Action truck.
0:01:41 > 0:01:43..A day many had hoped for,
0:01:43 > 0:01:47but in their heart of hearts never believed could really happen.
0:01:47 > 0:01:50- Slowly, slowly... - What are you doing?!
0:01:50 > 0:01:54Well, I couldn't help but hear you saying that you could slide
0:01:54 > 0:01:56this car anywhere you want. ..That'll do.
0:01:56 > 0:01:59- I thought you might want to prove it.- Prove what?
0:01:59 > 0:02:02So, you want me to skid sideways through that?!
0:02:02 > 0:02:04Exactly.
0:02:05 > 0:02:09I somehow have allowed the BBC to think that I'm all right at
0:02:09 > 0:02:12this driving thing, but I think this might be a bit of a challenge today.
0:02:12 > 0:02:15A step too far. Over and out.
0:02:24 > 0:02:25A little bit...
0:02:25 > 0:02:27- Right a bit.- Right.
0:02:27 > 0:02:28- Left a bit.- Right.
0:02:28 > 0:02:30- No, right.- Left.- Right.- Left.
0:02:30 > 0:02:34Welcome to Dunsfold. We've got a massive challenge for Chris to do.
0:02:34 > 0:02:37He is going to be drifting through
0:02:37 > 0:02:39our walls that we've built.
0:02:39 > 0:02:43It's super tight. The margins for error are insane.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46So, we're currently just prepping the walls into position now.
0:02:46 > 0:02:49If it goes wrong, we're going to have 50 people picking up
0:02:49 > 0:02:53bits of polystyrene walls. That's not so cool.
0:03:00 > 0:03:04Face-cam Alfa. Over-the-shoulder Alfa.
0:03:06 > 0:03:09We're now going to go...tracking car, and what I want to do
0:03:09 > 0:03:12is make sure we've got shots where the tracking car isn't in our shots.
0:03:12 > 0:03:16So, let's all get into our little angles, and we'll run it. OK?
0:03:18 > 0:03:21- RADIO:- 'Jon to Chris, can I re-place first positions, please?'
0:03:21 > 0:03:24Starting position, or do you want me somewhere else?
0:03:24 > 0:03:26I can't hear you in the wind.
0:03:26 > 0:03:30If the wall looks like it's going to fall, get in there, yeah?
0:03:30 > 0:03:33'Yes, getting right down to Follow Through.
0:03:35 > 0:03:37'Reasonably happy?'
0:03:37 > 0:03:39Well, I'm as happy as I'm going to be, really, aren't I?
0:03:39 > 0:03:42Let's give it a go, and if I smash it I smash it.
0:03:42 > 0:03:44Ooh!
0:03:44 > 0:03:46WIND WHISTLES
0:03:46 > 0:03:48I think it just nearly blew over.
0:03:50 > 0:03:53With winds gusting up to 40mph, Chris soon realised that
0:03:53 > 0:03:57the hole in the wall wasn't the only challenge he was facing.
0:03:57 > 0:04:01What are the chances of me actually getting to it before it blows over?
0:04:03 > 0:04:04Yeah. That is an issue.
0:04:04 > 0:04:09We're going to do this now. We're going to be following behind you.
0:04:09 > 0:04:11I hope it goes well, mate.
0:04:11 > 0:04:12Do it now.
0:04:13 > 0:04:16And three, two, one, go.
0:04:25 > 0:04:27That wasn't good.
0:04:27 > 0:04:30Big damage to the car. Big damage to the car.
0:04:36 > 0:04:38Get a close-up of that!
0:04:38 > 0:04:42Have a look at that windscreen. I'll come down.
0:04:51 > 0:04:53You've got another wall, haven't you?
0:04:53 > 0:04:55I want to do it again. I'm not giving up.
0:04:58 > 0:05:00Is my hair all right?
0:05:04 > 0:05:07- BLEEP.- It was open, wasn't it? Stay there.
0:05:07 > 0:05:08- Here we go!- OK?- Action!
0:05:08 > 0:05:10I don't know what's worse,
0:05:10 > 0:05:12the fact that I've damaged this beautiful car,
0:05:12 > 0:05:15or the knowledge that I'm going to have to listen to you
0:05:15 > 0:05:18once again say, "Bring on the wall!"
0:05:18 > 0:05:20Bring on the wall!
0:05:21 > 0:05:22Again!
0:05:24 > 0:05:25Good.
0:05:31 > 0:05:33'OK, Chris, here we go.
0:05:33 > 0:05:36'Three, two, one, action.'
0:05:48 > 0:05:51No, that's not worked, either.
0:06:03 > 0:06:06I think we need to get a move on, boys. It's getting dark.
0:06:06 > 0:06:09This is Through The Wall with the Alfa and Chris.
0:06:10 > 0:06:12Rescue it!
0:06:14 > 0:06:16- BLEEP- get in there.
0:06:20 > 0:06:23'OK, Jon to Chris, apologies, radio check. Copy.'
0:06:23 > 0:06:25I've got you. I can't control the weather.
0:06:25 > 0:06:28'Yeah, that and polystyrene.'
0:06:30 > 0:06:34The wind remained relentless, and now Chris was running out of time.
0:06:34 > 0:06:38The light was fading, and there were only two walls left.
0:06:38 > 0:06:40And...action!
0:06:44 > 0:06:46Come on, Chris.
0:06:46 > 0:06:49Drift the car through the wall.
0:06:53 > 0:06:55Can we go home now?
0:06:55 > 0:06:56Bye.
0:07:02 > 0:07:04And as darkness falls over Dunsfold,
0:07:04 > 0:07:07a lone Iranian is still trying to drive through the hole
0:07:07 > 0:07:10in a polystyrene wall.
0:07:12 > 0:07:15I like to think that's how the BBC Natural History Department
0:07:15 > 0:07:16would record this event.
0:07:23 > 0:07:26'Jon to Chris. Flash your hazards if you can hear me.
0:07:26 > 0:07:29'We are going to cue you. OK, good. Thank you. Stand by.
0:07:29 > 0:07:31- 'Here we go.'- Here we go, then.
0:07:31 > 0:07:33It's dark. I can't really see what I'm doing.
0:07:33 > 0:07:37I couldn't do it when I could see what I was doing.
0:07:37 > 0:07:39- 'And...'- 'Go.'- 'Go, go, go!'
0:07:42 > 0:07:44Is this really going to work?
0:07:44 > 0:07:47I can't even see what I'm doing here.
0:07:54 > 0:07:56Whoa-ho-ho-ho!
0:07:56 > 0:07:58Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!
0:07:58 > 0:08:00Yes!
0:08:00 > 0:08:01My God!
0:08:02 > 0:08:04Yes, baby!
0:08:04 > 0:08:07THEY SHOUT AND LAUGH
0:08:08 > 0:08:10'Well done, Chris.
0:08:10 > 0:08:13'Well done, Chris, that was amazing, mate. Well done.'
0:08:13 > 0:08:16I'm having one of those.
0:08:16 > 0:08:17APPLAUSE
0:08:17 > 0:08:19Well done, mate.
0:08:19 > 0:08:23Thank you for bearing with me. Thank you for bearing with me...
0:08:24 > 0:08:25Yes!
0:08:25 > 0:08:29To tell us more about it, let's bring on the boys!
0:08:29 > 0:08:31CHEERING
0:08:35 > 0:08:38Chris, you were really up against it there.
0:08:38 > 0:08:41It'd be hard enough getting that car through the hole without any wind.
0:08:41 > 0:08:44Yeah, hard to say what was more difficult.
0:08:44 > 0:08:47Was it the wind or the help of my co-presenter?
0:08:47 > 0:08:49No, the wind was a real problem,
0:08:49 > 0:08:52- The frangible material that wasn't frangible...- Yes.
0:08:52 > 0:08:53..wanted to blow over,
0:08:53 > 0:08:57but the wall had to be positioned a certain way to give it
0:08:57 > 0:09:00the least-facing angle into the wind.
0:09:00 > 0:09:02Not sure if there's a technical term for that.
0:09:02 > 0:09:05That meant that it wasn't the easiest angle
0:09:05 > 0:09:07for me to drift through. Do you want some more excuses?
0:09:07 > 0:09:08All of that. All of that.
0:09:08 > 0:09:11Look, the whole thing was pretty damn difficult,
0:09:11 > 0:09:13- if I'm honest with you. - It looked difficult and I suppose,
0:09:13 > 0:09:16you were talking about the frangible material there -
0:09:16 > 0:09:18you don't expect that to smash your windscreen, do you?
0:09:18 > 0:09:21No, polystyrene is like water... I now learn.
0:09:21 > 0:09:24Water, when you hit it at 1mph is soft and cuddly.
0:09:24 > 0:09:27- If you whack it at 50mph it hurts. - Yes.
0:09:27 > 0:09:29Polystyrene - the same thing.
0:09:29 > 0:09:31You were almost injured, is that right?
0:09:31 > 0:09:34No! Of course not. We don't get injured on Top gear.
0:09:34 > 0:09:36- Just his pride. - My pride was damaged.
0:09:36 > 0:09:39There were bits of glass flying around but we can survive those.
0:09:39 > 0:09:42No, I just didn't like seeing the car get damaged.
0:09:42 > 0:09:45And, Rory, you were just there for moral support?
0:09:45 > 0:09:49I think we've got a film to remind ourselves.
0:09:49 > 0:09:51Bring on the wall.
0:09:51 > 0:09:54Bring on the ball! Bring on the wall!
0:09:54 > 0:09:55Bring on the wall!
0:09:59 > 0:10:01I mean... Couldn't you have thought of another line?
0:10:01 > 0:10:04I mean, look, what you've got to remember is that, in the film,
0:10:04 > 0:10:07Chris was talking about how great the car was and that
0:10:07 > 0:10:09he could slide it anywhere.
0:10:09 > 0:10:11We've all seen countless films of this guy
0:10:11 > 0:10:13being this amazing driving god, and everything,
0:10:13 > 0:10:16and I just wanted to help prove that he was as good as he says.
0:10:16 > 0:10:20- Being a good friend.- And you have helped me prove that I'm not.
0:10:20 > 0:10:23But it was soul destroying. I don't like failing at stuff.
0:10:23 > 0:10:25I really didn't think it was possible.
0:10:25 > 0:10:27But I knew... At the time,
0:10:27 > 0:10:31I thought I knew that it had been done by someone in a BMW 1M.
0:10:31 > 0:10:34This evening, I have just found out that it hadn't been done.
0:10:34 > 0:10:37It was a cheat. A trick!
0:12:05 > 0:12:08See, it was all a CGI exercise.
0:12:08 > 0:12:12- On top of that, though, we genuinely only had four frangible walls.- Yes.
0:12:12 > 0:12:14So, he was down to the last attempt.
0:12:14 > 0:12:16If he hadn't had done that, it would have been game over.
0:12:16 > 0:12:20Plus, everyone forgets, you know, how hard I worked on that shoot, OK?
0:12:20 > 0:12:25Sat in that chair for hours, into the dark. I was freezing.
0:12:25 > 0:12:28It was a cold day. I'll give him that. It was a cold, cold day.
0:12:28 > 0:12:32And after the third attempt, I wanted to be in your chair.
0:12:32 > 0:12:37- And not in the chair I was sitting in.- With him?- On him. I didn't care.
0:12:37 > 0:12:39I didn't want to be in the Alfa any more.
0:12:39 > 0:12:43So, the other car that we saw in the Giulia film was the BMW M3.
0:12:43 > 0:12:46- Now, that must have really tested your allegiance.- Ooh, yeah.
0:12:46 > 0:12:49I do like an M3. That's where it all started for me.
0:12:49 > 0:12:52Well, this is probably the perfect moment for you to introduce
0:12:52 > 0:12:54- your lap car this week.- Here we go.
0:12:54 > 0:12:57Well, yes, my admiration for the Alfa Giulia is pretty apparent,
0:12:57 > 0:12:58as you can see.
0:12:58 > 0:13:01I have chosen my words carefully, mind,
0:13:01 > 0:13:03because over here is the M3,
0:13:03 > 0:13:06the super saloon that will always be closest to my heart,
0:13:06 > 0:13:08and I couldn't resist the opportunity
0:13:08 > 0:13:10to take it round our track.
0:13:10 > 0:13:12M3. 30-year edition.
0:13:16 > 0:13:19Massive skid off the line, into third and we're still sideways.
0:13:19 > 0:13:21Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
0:13:21 > 0:13:25So, what constitutes a 30th anniversary M3?
0:13:25 > 0:13:29A bit more power. We've got about 19 horsepower more.
0:13:29 > 0:13:30We're now up to 450.
0:13:30 > 0:13:32That is quite a lot in a small saloon car,
0:13:32 > 0:13:35because this thing does weigh a lot less than a C63.
0:13:35 > 0:13:38This is so exciting, this car. I love it.
0:13:38 > 0:13:42This is the argument for turbo-charging, in my book.
0:13:42 > 0:13:44So much grip from the chassis.
0:13:44 > 0:13:48Must not go too sideways. And failing.
0:13:48 > 0:13:50So, what else do we get?
0:13:50 > 0:13:53This is £25,000 more than a normal M3.
0:13:53 > 0:13:55You get fjord blue insets in your seats.
0:13:55 > 0:13:58I don't know whether that really constitutes the difference.
0:13:58 > 0:14:01You get a bit more power, you get the sport exhaust as standard,
0:14:01 > 0:14:04and you also get... I'm going to do a big skid here.
0:14:04 > 0:14:06I'm going to go for another gear as well.
0:14:06 > 0:14:09Skid, gear change, skid, gear change.
0:14:09 > 0:14:12Oh, we love a skid, gear change.
0:14:12 > 0:14:14And the chassis, it's so pointy,
0:14:14 > 0:14:16it is just so oversteer-y when you want it to be.
0:14:16 > 0:14:18And so cool, look at that.
0:14:18 > 0:14:20Big skid!
0:14:20 > 0:14:21Ahh!
0:14:21 > 0:14:24I just love banging M3s around.
0:14:24 > 0:14:27They make lovely everyday cars, and people, for some reason,
0:14:27 > 0:14:30have a bit of a downer on this turbo-charged M3.
0:14:30 > 0:14:33I think it's the best one they've ever made.
0:14:33 > 0:14:36It's a superb motor car. I want more and more of it.
0:14:36 > 0:14:37Oh, yes.
0:14:37 > 0:14:41Would I pay 25 grand extra? Yes, for the fancy seatbelts alone.
0:14:44 > 0:14:46CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
0:14:51 > 0:14:54It's pretty clear you love the M3.
0:14:54 > 0:14:57Even standing here I get a bit tingly.
0:14:57 > 0:14:59That is a fantastic car.
0:14:59 > 0:15:02Now, something else I want to talk to you about is the cars that
0:15:02 > 0:15:04we saw in tonight's episode.
0:15:04 > 0:15:07So, Chris, you were in the 911 Turbo S,
0:15:07 > 0:15:10and Matt was in the Lamborghini Huracan.
0:15:10 > 0:15:13Now, the challenge from the producers was that you had to
0:15:13 > 0:15:17drive these cars through all four seasons, but it seemed like
0:15:17 > 0:15:18a bigger challenge for you
0:15:18 > 0:15:21was to prove that the 911 is in fact a supercar.
0:15:21 > 0:15:23Rory, can I get your take on this?
0:15:23 > 0:15:25I don't like agreeing with Chris all the time,
0:15:25 > 0:15:27but I'm with him on this one.
0:15:27 > 0:15:29The Turbo S is quicker than the Lamborghini,
0:15:29 > 0:15:30and you wouldn't think so to look at it.
0:15:30 > 0:15:33And it is more super, in the sense that it can do all the stuff
0:15:33 > 0:15:36that this car can do, and a whole lot more.
0:15:36 > 0:15:39It's got four seats, it's got more practicality,
0:15:39 > 0:15:42and it's ultimately a quicker car, so, in that sense,
0:15:42 > 0:15:44Harris is the winner.
0:15:44 > 0:15:47We should bottle that one. We've agreed on something.
0:15:47 > 0:15:50Chris, we saw both these cars going up a ski slope.
0:15:50 > 0:15:53You don't expect to see that, but they're both four-wheel drive.
0:15:53 > 0:15:55What are the differences between the two systems?
0:15:55 > 0:15:58They are surprisingly different in that...
0:15:58 > 0:16:01Obviously, this is mid engine, that is rear engine, OK?
0:16:01 > 0:16:03So they have to operate slightly differently.
0:16:03 > 0:16:06They are both genuine four-wheel-drive systems,
0:16:06 > 0:16:08- so this is, effectively, an R8 underneath.- Yeah.
0:16:08 > 0:16:11So it is more rear biased, with the assistance at the front,
0:16:11 > 0:16:13and the same is true of the 911.
0:16:13 > 0:16:16The key differences are actually that when you drive them,
0:16:16 > 0:16:18this has got big element of torque vectoring,
0:16:18 > 0:16:21so the systems in this car can put torque to different wheels
0:16:21 > 0:16:23to try and grip, and you really notice that.
0:16:23 > 0:16:25When they were both on studded tyres,
0:16:25 > 0:16:27this had quite a big advantage.
0:16:27 > 0:16:30Once you put the chains on the Lambo, it could keep up.
0:16:30 > 0:16:33In fact it could go places the Porsche couldn't it in the end.
0:16:33 > 0:16:36But, most interestingly, this has got a four-wheel steering system,
0:16:36 > 0:16:39and that made a huge difference wherever we went.
0:16:39 > 0:16:42The rear wheels can move and articulate quite a lot,
0:16:42 > 0:16:45so, effectively, this car has a variable wheelbase,
0:16:45 > 0:16:48so when you're going fast, the direction change is nice and lazy
0:16:48 > 0:16:51and smooth, and when you're going quick
0:16:51 > 0:16:53and into more technical spaces,
0:16:53 > 0:16:55the wheelbase feels shorter, feels more agile.
0:16:55 > 0:16:56It's a total freak of a car.
0:16:56 > 0:16:59It shouldn't do what it can do and, frankly,
0:16:59 > 0:17:03its repertoire is so broad, it makes this look a bit silly at times.
0:17:03 > 0:17:06So, the true supercar, then, obviously, is definitely
0:17:06 > 0:17:09the 911 because, let's face it, it's got way more tricks up its sleeve.
0:17:09 > 0:17:12And at one point in the film, we saw you swap cars,
0:17:12 > 0:17:15so there were things about the Lamborghini that you appreciated?
0:17:15 > 0:17:17Oh, yeah, the engine is fantastic.
0:17:17 > 0:17:20Anyone that has driven an R8, it has the same motor.
0:17:20 > 0:17:21That V10, normally aspirated.
0:17:21 > 0:17:24I mean, it is a dying breed, as Matt says in the film.
0:17:24 > 0:17:26It's something to celebrate. It sounds fantastic.
0:17:26 > 0:17:28The throttle response is remarkable,
0:17:28 > 0:17:31- but as you're telling yourself that, the 911 drives away.- Yeah.
0:17:31 > 0:17:33And I suppose, after a fashion,
0:17:33 > 0:17:36this is a car that you can enjoy for a few hours at a time,
0:17:36 > 0:17:39or I can, but you sit too high, the steering's all funny,
0:17:39 > 0:17:43the cabin is bizarre, and I don't like being looked at that much.
0:17:43 > 0:17:45Rory, where do you stand on that?
0:17:45 > 0:17:48Look, having said what I said earlier, I do still feel...
0:17:48 > 0:17:51- Here we go!- ..that the Lambo is a stunning-looking car,
0:17:51 > 0:17:53and if I'm going to pick a car to show off in,
0:17:53 > 0:17:56to make people be impressed by me, I would go with this thing,
0:17:56 > 0:17:59especially in this colour. I like it.
0:17:59 > 0:18:02This is How-Small-Is-Your-Manhood Yellow.
0:18:03 > 0:18:05Look, I do get one thing about this car.
0:18:05 > 0:18:09The normal aspirated motor is something to behold and celebrate.
0:18:09 > 0:18:11They won't be around much longer, I don't think.
0:18:11 > 0:18:15The engine is fantastic. The rest of it, average. Buy an R8.
0:18:15 > 0:18:17So, there's a pattern emerging.
0:18:17 > 0:18:21Last week, we saw you crash into the back of Matt LeBlanc.
0:18:21 > 0:18:25This week, we see this. What's going on?
0:18:33 > 0:18:38Nowadays, supercars aren't really about speed.
0:18:38 > 0:18:40They're about...
0:18:40 > 0:18:44- Ow, you just hit me in the head with a rock. You- BLEEP!
0:18:44 > 0:18:48'Matt, are you OK? Did you say there was a stone came in the cockpit?'
0:18:48 > 0:18:51Yeah, my fat head sticks out of this too far.
0:18:51 > 0:18:54Chris hit me right on the forehead with a rock.
0:18:54 > 0:18:56I'm all right, though.
0:19:02 > 0:19:06Evidence that Matt's workplace injury claim is building every week.
0:19:06 > 0:19:09In consecutive weeks, I've managed to nearly kill him in the Mercedes,
0:19:09 > 0:19:13and then I nearly brained him with a rock somewhere near Los Angeles.
0:19:13 > 0:19:16Look, there is a technical explanation here.
0:19:16 > 0:19:18As you saw in the film, the H-point...
0:19:18 > 0:19:20- I know you're passionate about H-points.- Oh, God, yeah.
0:19:20 > 0:19:21That means your hip point,
0:19:21 > 0:19:24so your hips relative to the height of the vehicle.
0:19:24 > 0:19:27The H-point in the Lamborghini is too high for how low the car is.
0:19:27 > 0:19:29So you sit too high in it, basically.
0:19:29 > 0:19:31Because they've got all these motors under the seat,
0:19:31 > 0:19:33cos it has to be an electric seat,
0:19:33 > 0:19:36cos the person that buys a Lamborghini can't do it manually.
0:19:36 > 0:19:37And, yeah, it's a nightmare.
0:19:37 > 0:19:39Matt was sitting too high in the vehicle,
0:19:39 > 0:19:42that's why he got brained by the stone. It wasn't a rock.
0:19:42 > 0:19:43He called it a rock.
0:19:43 > 0:19:46It was carrying the mass of a shell, wasn't it? It was tiny.
0:19:46 > 0:19:49But that's something else you've got to love about Lamborghinis,
0:19:49 > 0:19:52because, historically, they've been slightly flawed in some way
0:19:52 > 0:19:55and, again, the H-point in this new thing is slightly wrong.
0:19:55 > 0:19:59It adds character to the car. It's another reason to love it.
0:19:59 > 0:20:01Why would you want to sit too high in a sports car?
0:20:01 > 0:20:04- So people can see you better. - Oh, my Lord.
0:20:04 > 0:20:07It is a good explanation, actually, I'll give him that.
0:20:07 > 0:20:09OK, to answer the ultimate question,
0:20:09 > 0:20:12it wouldn't have happened in the Porsche, would it?
0:20:12 > 0:20:14It wouldn't have happened. If Matt had been driving the Porsche,
0:20:14 > 0:20:16his good looks would have been preserved.
0:20:16 > 0:20:19Are you saying they've been ruined in some way?
0:20:19 > 0:20:21- By you.- Agh.- Dented a little.
0:20:21 > 0:20:25So, we saw you test the cars in all sorts of different ways,
0:20:25 > 0:20:28ways that you don't usually see supercars get tested.
0:20:28 > 0:20:31But I know that there are probably people at home looking
0:20:31 > 0:20:33at their tellies right now and they're saying,
0:20:33 > 0:20:35"Yes, yes, yes, but how big is the boot?"
0:20:35 > 0:20:40Well, I heard that the 911's boot is about Chris Harris sized.
0:20:40 > 0:20:44That's not a very large unit of measurement, though, is it?
0:20:44 > 0:20:47- That's the fourth size gag of the evening.- I'll keep them coming.
0:20:47 > 0:20:51So, there was one other challenge that you didn't see in the film.
0:20:51 > 0:20:53Would you guys like to see it now?
0:20:53 > 0:20:55- AUDIENCE:- Yes!
0:21:01 > 0:21:03Probably a good idea to put your coat on.
0:21:03 > 0:21:05Have you seen the size of my boot?
0:21:05 > 0:21:08Yeah, 911s have a nice big front trunk.
0:21:08 > 0:21:12- Look at it.- Yeah, that's big. Bigger than that one.
0:21:13 > 0:21:17- Look, it's so big I can get in it, I reckon.- Do you think so?
0:21:17 > 0:21:18Yeah.
0:21:20 > 0:21:23Really? All right, get in there. Let me see you.
0:21:27 > 0:21:29Can you get all the way in?
0:21:29 > 0:21:31Ow! Agh!
0:21:31 > 0:21:32Can you get all the way in?
0:21:32 > 0:21:34Don't be a wally.
0:21:34 > 0:21:35It won't latch.
0:21:35 > 0:21:36I nearly got in it.
0:21:39 > 0:21:42- Ow!- No, you're not going to fit.
0:21:42 > 0:21:44Come on, I'm getting wet. Let's get out of here.
0:21:47 > 0:21:49That's great.
0:21:49 > 0:21:52I love how Matt tries to squish you in.
0:21:52 > 0:21:55It's like when you're trying to get a teddy bear into a toy box.
0:21:55 > 0:21:57A very angry teddy beer.
0:21:57 > 0:22:01Now, unfortunately, that's all we've got time for tonight.
0:22:01 > 0:22:03But, Rory, what have we got coming up next week?
0:22:03 > 0:22:06All right, next week we find out what kind of car you need
0:22:06 > 0:22:10if you're going to film a DB11. I'll give you a hint - a very fast one.
0:22:10 > 0:22:14And George and I are going to bond over the Ford Fiesta.
0:22:14 > 0:22:17- We did bond, didn't we? - Yeah. Yeah. A little bit.
0:22:17 > 0:22:20So we will see you next week, here on Extra Gear.
