0:01:23 > 0:01:28Hi! I'm Andy. I run the Prehistoric Gallery here at the National Museum.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30I love my job.

0:01:30 > 0:01:33Today I've been working on a display about a colossal dinosaur.

0:01:33 > 0:01:37I've got something in here for it. Come on, I'll show you.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45- Hi, Jen!- Hi, Andy.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47What is this you're working on?

0:01:47 > 0:01:50This display is all about Argentinosaurus,

0:01:50 > 0:01:54one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered.

0:01:54 > 0:01:55It doesn't look that big to me.

0:01:55 > 0:01:59- This is just the bone at the bottom bit of its leg.- Wow!

0:01:59 > 0:02:03In that case, it would have been absolutely enormous!

0:02:03 > 0:02:05Yeah, it was.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07But they started life teeny-tiny,

0:02:07 > 0:02:10in little nests a bit like this.

0:02:10 > 0:02:11A nest?

0:02:11 > 0:02:16Yes, Argentinosaurus hatched from an egg not much bigger than my hand.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20But then they grew into a massive dinosaur.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22- Wow!- Look at this.

0:02:29 > 0:02:30HE SIGHS

0:02:30 > 0:02:36This is a piece of fossilised Argentinosaurus eggshell.

0:02:36 > 0:02:41Mrs Pickles found it in South America. It's 95 million years old.

0:02:41 > 0:02:42Oh, wow!

0:02:42 > 0:02:47What an incredible dinosaur! I want to work out just how big they grew.

0:02:47 > 0:02:48Come on.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50Oh... Um...

0:02:59 > 0:03:01Here we go.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05I've calculated a fully grown Argentinosaurus would have been

0:03:05 > 0:03:07just over 30 metres head to tail,

0:03:07 > 0:03:11so that's as long as three double-decker buses.

0:03:13 > 0:03:15- That's so clever!- Not really.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18I worked out the dimensions of the leg bone,

0:03:18 > 0:03:21then extrapolated the data with basic vector graphics.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23Right!

0:03:23 > 0:03:24DOOR OPENS Oh!

0:03:24 > 0:03:28- Ah! Hello, you two. - BOTH: Hello, Mrs Pickles.

0:03:28 > 0:03:29I want to see

0:03:29 > 0:03:32how the Argentinosaurus display is coming along.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35- It will be ready for the morning. - Wonderful.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38You will be careful with my eggshell, won't you?

0:03:38 > 0:03:43- It's 95 million years old, you know. - We'll take extra-special care of it.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46I knew I could count on you both. See you in the morning.

0:03:46 > 0:03:48Goodnight!

0:03:48 > 0:03:51Right, Jen, let's go and put that eggshell into the nest.

0:03:54 > 0:03:59- It's gone!- Where did it go? - It was just here!

0:03:59 > 0:04:03We can't have lost it already! Mrs Pickles will be so upset.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05What are we going to do?

0:04:05 > 0:04:08We need to search the whole of the museum from top to bottom.

0:04:08 > 0:04:12The museum is huge! We're never going to have enough time.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14CLOCK CHIMES

0:04:17 > 0:04:19SQUAWKING

0:04:21 > 0:04:22That's it!

0:04:22 > 0:04:26Jen, you stay here, I'll go and get another Argentinosaurus eggshell.
