0:00:20 > 0:00:22# Come and hide out with me! #
0:00:26 > 0:00:28Ah! Ah!
0:00:28 > 0:00:31Hello, welcome to my secret hideout.
0:00:31 > 0:00:36I've just been out on a day full of adventure. Oh, I'm pooped!
0:00:36 > 0:00:39This is my favourite seat in the hideout.
0:00:39 > 0:00:42Do you have a favourite seat?
0:00:42 > 0:00:45Well, we all need a place to perch every now and then,
0:00:45 > 0:00:47including animals.
0:00:47 > 0:00:50In fact, some animals have a favourite perch that they
0:00:50 > 0:00:54come to over and over again and, if you keep really still and wait,
0:00:54 > 0:00:57you might just see them coming onto it.
0:00:59 > 0:01:02I wonder what it's going to be?
0:01:02 > 0:01:06Wow! It's a dragonfly.
0:01:06 > 0:01:09They like to use a perch as a lookout over their territory
0:01:09 > 0:01:14and rest those buzzing wings. Dragonflies are ancient insects.
0:01:14 > 0:01:17They've been around since before the dinosaurs.
0:01:17 > 0:01:20What a great way to get a close look at them!
0:01:20 > 0:01:25- OK, are you ready for the next creature who likes to perch?- Yeah!
0:01:25 > 0:01:29It's a lovely flower. I wonder what it will be?
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Oh! It's a butterfly.
0:01:34 > 0:01:40They can rest on the petals whilst eating the nectar. Delicious!
0:01:40 > 0:01:44There's another animal that not only uses the perch to rest
0:01:44 > 0:01:46but also to help them eat.
0:01:48 > 0:01:50Wow! It's a kingfisher.
0:01:50 > 0:01:54He uses his perch as a place to keep an eye out for fish
0:01:54 > 0:01:57and as a handy spot to have his lunch.
0:01:57 > 0:02:01So you see, when you look at the world through an animal's eyes,
0:02:01 > 0:02:03almost anywhere is a good place to sit.
0:02:03 > 0:02:04WINGS FLUTTER
0:02:04 > 0:02:06SHRIEKS
0:02:06 > 0:02:12Wow! Including my window ledge in the hideout. Ha-ha, aww!
0:02:12 > 0:02:16This is a barn owl. I'll call him Barney.
0:02:16 > 0:02:18And owls love a good high perch.
0:02:18 > 0:02:21Because they can turn their heads almost all the way round,
0:02:21 > 0:02:25every perch is a fantastic lookout point.
0:02:25 > 0:02:29But my absolute favourite place to perch is...
0:02:29 > 0:02:33Aah! My bed. Night-night.
