0:01:25 > 0:01:29Say hello to this litter of labs. At seven weeks old,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32these pretty puppies are already being put to work.

0:01:32 > 0:01:38The catch? There are nine puppies and only one job.

0:01:38 > 0:01:44# And they called it puppy lo-o-ove

0:01:45 > 0:01:49# Oh, I guess there'll never know... #

0:01:49 > 0:01:52Today the search is on to find a new furry face

0:01:52 > 0:01:55and make it famous as part of a new advertising campaign.

0:01:55 > 0:02:00These bundles of fun have been bred by Martin and Louise

0:02:00 > 0:02:03and are all in the running.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06Very soon they'll be much-loved family pets,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09but before that happens, they could be dogstars.

0:02:09 > 0:02:13So, who are the puppies with potential?

0:02:13 > 0:02:17Now concentrate because you might notice some similarities here.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Let's start with Posie. And this is Bracken.

0:02:19 > 0:02:23She was the smallest of the girls when she was born.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25This is Marley, the feisty one.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27Are you noticing a theme yet?

0:02:27 > 0:02:31And here's Annie, the most mischievous of the litter.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34This is Casper. He's always in the thick of any trouble.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36Can you see the family resemblance?

0:02:36 > 0:02:40And this is Hazel. Sort of looks like Casper, doesn't she?

0:02:40 > 0:02:43This is Dudley. He's into all the mischief, and Dexter.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46He likes to rough and tumble.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50And lastly, this is Molly, the quietest of the bunch.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53No, I don't know how they can tell them apart either.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57Labrador puppies are perfect for the job of modelling.

0:02:57 > 0:03:01Their personalities make them very affectionate and loving.

0:03:01 > 0:03:04By nature, they are friendly and crave human leadership.

0:03:04 > 0:03:07This combination makes them perfect models.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09They do what they're told to do

0:03:09 > 0:03:12whilst having a bit of fun at the same time.

0:03:12 > 0:03:13Now meet...

0:03:15 > 0:03:17..the real top dog.

0:03:17 > 0:03:21This man has serious puppy power!

0:03:21 > 0:03:23Not only is Richard a trained veterinary surgeon,

0:03:23 > 0:03:28but for ten years he's been making many mutts international stars.

0:03:28 > 0:03:32Now, he's on the hunt for another puppy with appeal.

0:03:32 > 0:03:36We're certainly going to make one puppy a star in the UK,

0:03:36 > 0:03:40and possibly, who knows, maybe all over the world.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45The current owners of these golden girls and boys are hoping that one

0:03:45 > 0:03:48has got what it takes to impress.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51This litter I am thrilled to bits with.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54It is the best litter that I have ever bred.

0:03:54 > 0:03:56Puppies!

0:03:56 > 0:03:59Pup, pup, pup, pup, pups.

0:03:59 > 0:04:01They've got such sweet little faces

0:04:01 > 0:04:08and the temperaments should be absolutely 100% perfect.

0:04:08 > 0:04:14But will canine casting agent Richard agree?

0:04:14 > 0:04:18We've got a new product coming out and they want new photographs

0:04:18 > 0:04:19to put on the packaging.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22What I'm trying to do is to find a puppy that looks just like

0:04:22 > 0:04:24what everybody else thinks it ought to look like.

0:04:24 > 0:04:30If one of Louise's Labs gets this job, they'll be the latest in a long

0:04:30 > 0:04:33line of puppies that have promoted toilet paper.

0:04:33 > 0:04:37Since the campaign for this toilet tissue started in 1972,

0:04:37 > 0:04:41there have been over 200 Labrador puppies used as models

0:04:41 > 0:04:44in the television adverts and packaging.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48After 30 years in the public eye,

0:04:48 > 0:04:50just what is it that makes a model puppy?

0:04:50 > 0:04:52For me the big thing is you just want

0:04:52 > 0:04:57to...take that puppy up in your arms and snuggle it up.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59Back in Oxford, Annie, Hazel, Posie,

0:04:59 > 0:05:02Bracken, Casper, Marley, Molly,

0:05:02 > 0:05:04Dudley and Dexter are all undaunted

0:05:04 > 0:05:06by the thought of being celebrities.

0:05:06 > 0:05:11- It's not fame they are hungry for right now.- When you're ready Martin.

0:05:11 > 0:05:13It's just food.

0:05:13 > 0:05:16I'm very excited because obviously they're my puppies

0:05:16 > 0:05:19and I was astounded that they would want them.

0:05:19 > 0:05:21When I stand back and look at them,

0:05:21 > 0:05:25I think they're beautiful. I know they're beautiful cos they're mine.

0:05:27 > 0:05:31It really is just a sit, wait and see situation

0:05:31 > 0:05:34and that's all we're doing, sitting and waiting.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37When Richard comes, I hope that he shares my enthusiasm

0:05:37 > 0:05:40for the puppies. I personally think, "What's not to like?"

0:05:40 > 0:05:43But he may well walk in and say that they're

0:05:43 > 0:05:48not good enough for us, in which case he'll be bundled out the door.

0:05:48 > 0:05:52- Coming up, we'll see if these hungry pups...- Choose me! Pick me! Pick me!

0:05:52 > 0:05:55..have what it takes to be stars.

0:05:59 > 0:06:04Next, we're flying to Indianapolis for some Frisbee fun.

0:06:11 > 0:06:14This is Jumping Jack The Maniac.

0:06:14 > 0:06:16He's a seven year old Lab

0:06:16 > 0:06:20who can leap over his owner in a single bound.

0:06:22 > 0:06:26This super dog is the star of Bill Camps' Flying Dogs.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29They do half-time shows at sports events.

0:06:36 > 0:06:39Bill has 18 trained Frisbee dogs.

0:06:39 > 0:06:42But Jack is the best overall performer

0:06:42 > 0:06:45and the most famous of the flying dogs.

0:06:45 > 0:06:47OK, on the count of three.

0:06:47 > 0:06:50OK, you ready? One. DOG BARKS

0:06:50 > 0:06:51Hey, I'll do the counting.

0:06:52 > 0:06:56One...two...

0:06:56 > 0:06:59four...

0:06:59 > 0:07:0130...three.

0:07:01 > 0:07:03We start out with just basic Frisbee.

0:07:03 > 0:07:06He did catch a Frisbee the first day...

0:07:08 > 0:07:10..which I thought was very, very unique

0:07:10 > 0:07:14and then I went and started teaching him to do tricks.

0:07:14 > 0:07:16He's loveable, he's friendly

0:07:16 > 0:07:19and I have learned over the years with Jack,

0:07:19 > 0:07:22he aces everything he does. He gives you 100%.

0:07:22 > 0:07:26Bill teaches each dog tricks that suit their natural abilities.

0:07:26 > 0:07:30Border Collies are lighter so they are better at backflips.

0:07:42 > 0:07:44Labradors, like Jack, are a hunting breed,

0:07:44 > 0:07:47so they instinctively look up for anything that flies.

0:07:47 > 0:07:51And that's what's made Jack such a rising star,

0:07:51 > 0:07:55and his specialty is "the bullet".

0:07:55 > 0:07:57It takes incredible mouth and eye co-ordination.

0:07:59 > 0:08:02Good boy! All right. Good boy.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05His leaping ability is astounding.

0:08:05 > 0:08:11The big air is what people want to see in all these shows that we do,

0:08:11 > 0:08:13the entertainment part of it.

0:08:13 > 0:08:16Leaping ability, he's a ten.

0:08:17 > 0:08:21Tonight in Indianapolis, the Indiana Pacers are playing at home.

0:08:21 > 0:08:26This basketball game attracts thousands of fans to the stadium

0:08:26 > 0:08:27and tonight at half time,

0:08:27 > 0:08:33these fans will get to watch Jack fly through his Frisbee routine.

0:08:33 > 0:08:37And just like the players, Jack and Bill both have a pre-game ritual.

0:08:37 > 0:08:39His paws are outfitted

0:08:39 > 0:08:43with special booties to stop Jack slipping on the court.

0:08:43 > 0:08:45Four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. You're done.

0:08:45 > 0:08:50Good boy. The tape does support their joints and you'll see them out

0:08:50 > 0:08:53on the court doing all these jumps but don't worry, they don't get hurt.

0:08:53 > 0:08:55Stop. Let's go.

0:08:55 > 0:08:57They're expecting us.

0:08:57 > 0:08:59It's time to perform.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02As half time nears, it's show time for Jack,

0:09:02 > 0:09:05and The Jumping Maniac just can't wait.

0:09:05 > 0:09:08When we bring Jack out,

0:09:08 > 0:09:13you'll hear the fans even at a higher level of oohs and ahs.

0:09:15 > 0:09:18Now, fans, here he is wearing his Superman cape.

0:09:18 > 0:09:22Let's give it up for Jumping Jack The Maniac.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03Jack has no problem with the crowd noise.

0:10:03 > 0:10:06The louder the fans are, the higher he jumps.

0:10:11 > 0:10:14We've been surfing the World Wide Web and checking out

0:10:14 > 0:10:17what some crazy critters get up to in their spare time.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19Take Tilman, from California.

0:10:19 > 0:10:22It seems he "wheely" wants

0:10:22 > 0:10:25to be one of Hollywood's hot celebs.

0:10:35 > 0:10:36Brilliant boarding there, Tilman.

0:10:36 > 0:10:41Now, on your bike. Hey, that would be good!

0:10:43 > 0:10:48Now, let's get back to the Labs from Oxford in England.

0:10:48 > 0:10:50Puppies! Pup, pup, pups.

0:10:50 > 0:10:53Earlier we showed you these little Labs.

0:10:53 > 0:10:57If their fur fits, then one of these faces could soon be

0:10:57 > 0:10:59on the front of your toilet tissue.

0:10:59 > 0:11:03Today, this man will be putting their paws through their paces

0:11:03 > 0:11:07and deciding whether they've got the "rex" factor he's looking for.

0:11:07 > 0:11:10I've got quite a lot of things to look out for.

0:11:10 > 0:11:13Colour is very important but also I'm looking for personality.

0:11:13 > 0:11:17What we're really looking for is a puppy that's going to want to really

0:11:17 > 0:11:21bound onto the set and take charge and really say,

0:11:21 > 0:11:23"I'm the star of the show."

0:11:25 > 0:11:28The audition is for a high profile photo shoot.

0:11:28 > 0:11:30There's no fur brushing allowed

0:11:30 > 0:11:34so it's important these pups are picture perfect.

0:11:34 > 0:11:38Breeder Louise is confident that her puppies have star potential,

0:11:38 > 0:11:41but will canine casting agent Richard agree?

0:11:41 > 0:11:44He could think that they're a little "wuff" around the edges.

0:11:50 > 0:11:56- What are you looking for?- My ideal puppy is a puppy that isn't too white

0:11:56 > 0:12:00because they tend to disappear or a puppy that is too dark.

0:12:00 > 0:12:04I'm looking for something that isn't too skinny

0:12:04 > 0:12:07and equally isn't too fat.

0:12:07 > 0:12:12I'm looking for something with plenty of energy and plenty of enthusiasm

0:12:12 > 0:12:17that's going to want to actually participate in a day's filming.

0:12:17 > 0:12:20This one in the corner, is my favourite.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23Now whether she's a potential or not, I don't know.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25Do you think Hazel would fit the bill?

0:12:25 > 0:12:27Hazel is very, very pretty.

0:12:27 > 0:12:34The only slight drawback for me is that her nose is a little pink.

0:12:34 > 0:12:38For me the absolute ideal is to have a nice black nose

0:12:38 > 0:12:41and nice black rims to the eyes.

0:12:41 > 0:12:45Hazel's not out of the frame just yet, but getting back in the picture

0:12:45 > 0:12:49is going to be tough as the others now have their noses in front.

0:12:49 > 0:12:53Well, modelling is a dog eat dog world.

0:12:53 > 0:12:57Time to make sure these wannabe pup idols are fit for the job.

0:12:57 > 0:13:00Say arrrrr!

0:13:00 > 0:13:04Richard first needs to check their general health and appearance.

0:13:04 > 0:13:07They might all look cute but are they cute enough?

0:13:07 > 0:13:11As a veterinary surgeon, I'm looking for a puppy that's healthy

0:13:11 > 0:13:13and vigorous and vital.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15You gonna wag your tail for me?

0:13:15 > 0:13:16Make sure your tail wags.

0:13:16 > 0:13:20I'll have a good look at it and make sure that they're healthy

0:13:20 > 0:13:22before they come on a shoot.

0:13:22 > 0:13:25Now it's time for the fitness test.

0:13:25 > 0:13:27Louise and Martin, I've had a look at them all.

0:13:27 > 0:13:29They look very fit and healthy.

0:13:29 > 0:13:32I think what would be nice now would be to get some toys out

0:13:32 > 0:13:35and have them playing around, perhaps out here on the lawn,

0:13:35 > 0:13:39so we can get an idea of how they're going to react in the studio.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41Richard needs to find a puppy that has bags of energy,

0:13:41 > 0:13:47the bouncier the better. Come on, puppies, work it, come on!

0:13:47 > 0:13:49I have to say I hope that Hazel's the one he chooses

0:13:49 > 0:13:53but realistically, she hasn't got as dark a nose as some of the others.

0:13:53 > 0:13:56Maybe she won't be the one that's chosen,

0:13:56 > 0:13:58but as long as she's having fun.

0:13:58 > 0:14:02Choose me, pick me, pick me. Hello.

0:14:02 > 0:14:04Hello. Hello.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06Do you like that, do you?

0:14:06 > 0:14:09Excuse me. That's my toy.

0:14:09 > 0:14:13Having had her nose put out of joint earlier, Hazel wants to make sure

0:14:13 > 0:14:15she's still in the running.

0:14:15 > 0:14:18- You shouldn't tantalise her. - Give my toy back.

0:14:18 > 0:14:19"No, no," she says, "I like it."

0:14:19 > 0:14:24Audition over, have any of these tiny tearaways got what it takes

0:14:24 > 0:14:27to be toilet tissue's next top model?

0:14:27 > 0:14:30I really do think that you've got some real model puppies.

0:14:30 > 0:14:35Hazel certainly was running me ragged playing games,

0:14:35 > 0:14:38so I think she's going to have great fun.

0:14:38 > 0:14:42I think possibly Dudley here is perhaps the more photogenic,

0:14:42 > 0:14:46but I'd very much like it if you and the puppies would

0:14:46 > 0:14:47come to the shoot with us.

0:14:47 > 0:14:50- Yeah, that'd be lovely to bring them.- Yeah, great.

0:14:50 > 0:14:53It looks like Dudley is the front runner in the race

0:14:53 > 0:14:55to be the next famous furry face.

0:14:55 > 0:14:59But Hazel still has time to put her pink nose in the picture.

0:14:59 > 0:15:02The other seven puppies have dropped out of the running

0:15:02 > 0:15:07and the competition between these two prized pups is on!

0:15:07 > 0:15:10Let's see which pretty puppy gets the job.

0:15:10 > 0:15:12Pup, pup, pups. Pup, pup, pups.

0:15:12 > 0:15:16Hazel? Hazel? Come on, Hazel!

0:15:16 > 0:15:19Pup, pup, pup, pup.

0:15:22 > 0:15:26Hey, what a great audience. Hey, what do you call a sleeping bull?

0:15:27 > 0:15:32A bulldozer. Come on.

0:15:32 > 0:15:36I thought that was quite laughable. Laugha-bull.

0:15:36 > 0:15:37OK coming up next,

0:15:37 > 0:15:41a dynamic duo is literally muscling their way onto the show.

0:15:41 > 0:15:46Standing side by side, these animals at work are a force

0:15:46 > 0:15:51to be reckoned with, so moooove over for some loveable bovines.

0:15:51 > 0:15:53Hey, so you telling me you've heard all this before?

0:15:55 > 0:15:58Herd. Get it?

0:15:58 > 0:16:01Now we're going back in time and visiting the Canadian countryside.

0:16:12 > 0:16:15Before the arrival of machines, work that was too hard for man

0:16:15 > 0:16:18was carried out with the help of trained animals.

0:16:20 > 0:16:25For thousands of years, the ox has helped man do everything.

0:16:27 > 0:16:31These large animals exert incredible power.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33But this isn't the 1800s.

0:16:36 > 0:16:40No, this is actually an agricultural museum in present day Canada.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43And there are two very special members of staff

0:16:43 > 0:16:46who make this museum feel very authentic.

0:16:46 > 0:16:49Meet Lion and Bright.

0:16:49 > 0:16:51On the left and on the right.

0:16:51 > 0:16:55Side by side all day and all night.

0:16:55 > 0:16:58Never argue and never fight.

0:16:58 > 0:17:02These inseparable oxen do absolutely everything together

0:17:02 > 0:17:04and absolutely everything slowly.

0:17:04 > 0:17:06Their patient boss is Wade.

0:17:06 > 0:17:10This ox here that I've my hand on his name is Lion.

0:17:10 > 0:17:14Lion's always on the left hand side when you're facing to me.

0:17:14 > 0:17:17Bright over there, Bright's always on the right.

0:17:17 > 0:17:21They work well together. They don't like being apart.

0:17:21 > 0:17:25They won't beat no speed limits but they're slow and sure.

0:17:31 > 0:17:37This duo is in perfect partner pacing when they wag, when they nod,

0:17:37 > 0:17:39drink...

0:17:39 > 0:17:41eat...

0:17:41 > 0:17:43and when they step.

0:17:44 > 0:17:46That's the way they like to be.

0:17:46 > 0:17:49Lion and Bright are Heritage Hereford Oxen,

0:17:49 > 0:17:51and they have their place in history

0:17:51 > 0:17:54because their job is to demonstrate

0:17:54 > 0:17:59exactly what working animals did 100 years ago, and it's a tough job.

0:18:02 > 0:18:06They rise at 7am, just like their ancestors would have done.

0:18:15 > 0:18:17And after a hearty breakfast,

0:18:17 > 0:18:20it's time for these two performers to get ready for a show.

0:18:23 > 0:18:25It's important to Wade that they look their best

0:18:25 > 0:18:28if they're going to brush shoulders with the public.

0:18:31 > 0:18:35To really help with the demonstration, this duo finally

0:18:35 > 0:18:38get into character with the addition of a yoke.

0:18:38 > 0:18:40I'm just gonna grab this yoke here

0:18:40 > 0:18:43and put it on here, start strapping it on.

0:18:43 > 0:18:46The yoke is a traditional headpiece that will allow the team

0:18:46 > 0:18:51to comfortably carry large amounts of weight evenly and without strain.

0:18:51 > 0:18:56Yokes are like finely tailored suits and will only fit one team of oxen.

0:18:59 > 0:19:03Once they're dressed, Lion on the left and Bright on the right

0:19:03 > 0:19:07mow the hay to show visitors what life was like hundreds of years ago.

0:19:09 > 0:19:11For over 250 years,

0:19:11 > 0:19:15Hereford Oxen were used as the main source of power on farms.

0:19:15 > 0:19:19They were more popular than horses because they were cheaper to buy

0:19:19 > 0:19:22and cheaper to feed as they live off the land.

0:19:22 > 0:19:27Lion and Bright plough to eat and eat to plough.

0:19:27 > 0:19:31Now that the field is fully mown, the show is finally over.

0:19:31 > 0:19:36Time for these two to go backstage and be fed and watered and rest up

0:19:36 > 0:19:39because after all there's another show tomorrow.

0:19:42 > 0:19:45Nighty night, Lion and Bright.

0:19:53 > 0:19:57Check out these rats from Exmouth in England, who love nothing more than

0:19:57 > 0:19:59a good work out at their home gym.

0:20:12 > 0:20:14Just another day in the rat race.

0:20:20 > 0:20:23And now it's time to swing over to Ohio in the USA.

0:20:31 > 0:20:33To the golf lovers of America,

0:20:33 > 0:20:36nothing is more enticing than a picture perfect autumn morning.

0:20:38 > 0:20:42But with this wonderful weather comes a golfer's nightmare...

0:20:42 > 0:20:46The annual invasion of the Canadian geese.

0:20:46 > 0:20:51It really is a "fowl" mess because these geese gobble the grass and

0:20:51 > 0:20:55pay for their dinner only with slippery and unsightly deposits.

0:20:55 > 0:20:58Goose poo messes up the grass,

0:20:58 > 0:21:02so this is one birdie these golfers don't want to see.

0:21:02 > 0:21:04So, who you gonna call?

0:21:04 > 0:21:06Tattie, the goose buster.

0:21:20 > 0:21:23Tattie's intent is only to scare these geese and not catch them.

0:21:23 > 0:21:25Her trainer is Denny.

0:21:25 > 0:21:30It's a very humane, non violent way to take care of the goose population.

0:21:30 > 0:21:34Tattie will spot the geese quite a distance away,

0:21:34 > 0:21:36and with that she gets very, very excited.

0:21:36 > 0:21:39She'll start quivering and whimpering a bit.

0:21:39 > 0:21:43Today 9-year-old Tattie will be going around the course

0:21:43 > 0:21:46once more to ensure that golf remains a goose-free game.

0:21:46 > 0:21:48Her eagle eyes are always

0:21:48 > 0:21:51on the look-out for feathers on the fairway.

0:21:51 > 0:21:53Stay.

0:21:53 > 0:21:55Stay here, honey.

0:21:55 > 0:21:59She'll get off the cart and make the decisions herself.

0:21:59 > 0:22:03Sometimes it's just strictly a stealth move that intimidates,

0:22:03 > 0:22:07makes eye contact with one of the guardians of the geese flock,

0:22:07 > 0:22:10and will upset the geese enough that they'll take off on their own.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18Sometimes Tattie has to get up close and get into her scatter mode,

0:22:18 > 0:22:20which separates the flock.

0:22:22 > 0:22:26And not even water will stop this goose buster.

0:22:26 > 0:22:29She'll go into a herding mode, where she'll go in swimming

0:22:29 > 0:22:32after them and start breaking them off into smaller groups.

0:22:32 > 0:22:36As she's breaking them off into smaller groups they're frustrated,

0:22:36 > 0:22:40because their unit's being dissembled and at that point they'll fly away.

0:22:45 > 0:22:47We'd all be better off if we loved our jobs as

0:22:47 > 0:22:50much as she does. For her it's a real pleasure

0:22:50 > 0:22:53to get up every morning and go do her thing.

0:22:53 > 0:22:56We call it work and she just just has it as her way of life,

0:22:56 > 0:22:57doing what she does.

0:22:57 > 0:22:58Great work there, Tattie.

0:22:58 > 0:23:02That's one birdie the players won't be seeing on this course today.

0:23:07 > 0:23:09Now we're heading to London

0:23:09 > 0:23:12to see if the fur really flies at the photo shoot.

0:23:15 > 0:23:19Out of nine lovely Labrador puppies, talent scout Richard whittled

0:23:19 > 0:23:21the litter down to just Dudley and Hazel

0:23:21 > 0:23:23to audition in front of the camera.

0:23:23 > 0:23:25The job that's up for grabs is the starring role

0:23:25 > 0:23:27in a new toilet tissue campaign.

0:23:29 > 0:23:31The winning puppy's face is going

0:23:31 > 0:23:34to be on the packaging and seen by millions of shoppers.

0:23:34 > 0:23:37- Not wanting to travel to the audition alone...- Hello, puppies!

0:23:37 > 0:23:41..Dudley and Hazel brought their brothers and sisters along

0:23:41 > 0:23:44for some moral support.

0:23:46 > 0:23:49Oh, the pressure's on because if the puppies don't behave themselves,

0:23:49 > 0:23:51I'll get into all sorts of trouble.

0:23:51 > 0:23:55It's gonna be very strange seeing my pictures with the puppies on

0:23:55 > 0:23:58the products and that'll be what everybody's getting for Christmas.

0:23:58 > 0:24:02For those of you on Louise's Christmas list,

0:24:02 > 0:24:03you know what you're getting!

0:24:03 > 0:24:08The first in the audition spotlight is Hazel.

0:24:08 > 0:24:11I think it would be very nice if Hazel here were to run across

0:24:11 > 0:24:17with her ears flapping in the air, so that she looks like she's having

0:24:17 > 0:24:19a great deal of fun.

0:24:19 > 0:24:22Hazel. What have I got? Puppy.

0:24:22 > 0:24:25It seems Hazel doesn't want to perform.

0:24:28 > 0:24:30Perhaps Richard's earlier criticism

0:24:30 > 0:24:33during the audition process has knocked her confidence.

0:24:33 > 0:24:37- Do you think Hazel would fit the bill?- Hazel is very, very pretty.

0:24:37 > 0:24:44The only slight drawback for me is that her nose is a little pink.

0:24:44 > 0:24:47Pink. Pink. Pink. Pink.

0:24:48 > 0:24:51Come on, pups. What have I got? Puppy!

0:24:52 > 0:24:54HE WHISTLES

0:24:54 > 0:24:58Pup, pup, pups. Pup, pup, pups. What have I got?

0:24:58 > 0:25:00What have I got? What have I got?

0:25:00 > 0:25:03What have I got?

0:25:03 > 0:25:06Gracious me, Hazel. Can't you muster a little bit more enthusiasm

0:25:06 > 0:25:08than that for a piece of chicken?

0:25:08 > 0:25:12Don't worry, Hazel. Show business isn't for everyone.

0:25:12 > 0:25:15Over the last 30 years, there have been many other pups

0:25:15 > 0:25:17who have also failed to perform.

0:25:17 > 0:25:20Take a look at these past puppy out-takes.

0:25:30 > 0:25:32Dudley!

0:25:32 > 0:25:35Back at the auditions, Dudley has breathed new life into the day.

0:25:35 > 0:25:39Pup, pup, pup, pup, pup. Oh, you got energy.

0:25:39 > 0:25:44Hazel didn't take her opportunity to shine,

0:25:44 > 0:25:49leaving the pathway to fame and fortune open to her brother Dudley.

0:25:49 > 0:25:52Puppy! Pup, pup, pup, pup. Oh!

0:25:52 > 0:25:56Richard and Dudley had chemistry when they first met,

0:25:56 > 0:25:58and it seems their spark is still alight.

0:26:01 > 0:26:03He's got the job.

0:26:04 > 0:26:07At seven weeks old, puppy Dudley is growing bigger by the second,

0:26:07 > 0:26:11so Richard wastes no time and gets the shots for the advertising

0:26:11 > 0:26:13campaign done immediately.

0:26:16 > 0:26:19I'm very proud of them. They've done extremely well.

0:26:19 > 0:26:23I've been watching the pictures on the monitor and they're beautiful.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25They really are first class.

0:26:25 > 0:26:28To have our puppies going to be on a package, it's a big honour.

0:26:28 > 0:26:31But for Dudley, his puppy career is short lived.

0:26:33 > 0:26:35Now at the ripe old age of eight weeks,

0:26:35 > 0:26:37the star of the shoot has retired

0:26:37 > 0:26:40and is now the youngest of a family of five.

0:26:42 > 0:26:48I've wanted a puppy for a long time and I never thought I'd get one.

0:26:48 > 0:26:51I'm happy that Dudley's in our family

0:26:51 > 0:26:54because he's a maniac just like I am.

0:26:54 > 0:26:59And what does his new owner think of his pet's performing past?

0:26:59 > 0:27:05I think that's really funny because I never even thought

0:27:05 > 0:27:10I'd have a dog but now I've got one, I didn't know he'd be famous.

0:27:23 > 0:27:27I was told this programme was gonna be about me.

0:27:27 > 0:27:29I'd be the one who's the star.

0:27:29 > 0:27:31Me, me, me!

0:27:31 > 0:27:33And what ends up happening?
