0:00:23 > 0:00:26We meet a pig who's becoming a porky pin-up.

0:00:26 > 0:00:30She's being a bit of a diva really, isn't she? What do you reckon?

0:00:31 > 0:00:34We run to the hills with a drag racing dog.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39And a very hungry caterpillar with an extended family!

0:00:55 > 0:00:57# La la la la la la... #

0:00:57 > 0:01:00Oh, hi there. Welcome to the show.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03First animal is a piggy who hasn't gone to market.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05Rather, she's gone into marketing.

0:01:05 > 0:01:09She's trying to promote her new furry pig breed.

0:01:09 > 0:01:13To help, I'm composing a theme tune for her.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15Maybe it could be CHOP of the charts.

0:01:15 > 0:01:19Ha-ha! Anyway... Ahem! Here we go.

0:01:20 > 0:01:25# They're hairy, they're furry, they can be quite contrary

0:01:25 > 0:01:26# Pigs in a blanket!

0:01:26 > 0:01:29# They're pink, they don't actually stink

0:01:29 > 0:01:31# And their fur will never shrink, they're waterproof

0:01:31 > 0:01:34# Pigs in a blanket Pigs in a blanket

0:01:35 > 0:01:38# Pigs in a blanket! # I thank you.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43First we're trotting round to Wiltshire in England.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55Meet this two-year-old Mangalitza.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58She's a pig, with real girl power.

0:01:58 > 0:02:04This pedigree porker shares her name with pop superstar, Geri Halliwell.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06# I wanna really, really, really Wanna zigazig-ah... #

0:02:06 > 0:02:12And living next door in Becking-ham palace is, of course, Posh Pig.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14# Out of your mind... #

0:02:14 > 0:02:15OINNNNK!

0:02:15 > 0:02:18Very soon, Geri's life will be spiced up

0:02:18 > 0:02:21as this little piggy will be making a move

0:02:21 > 0:02:25from model mum to megastar Mangalitza.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27And now, meet another rare breed.

0:02:27 > 0:02:2914-year-old owner, Maisie.

0:02:29 > 0:02:33She's pig-mad and on a mission to make these Mangalitzas famous.

0:02:33 > 0:02:37I've loved pigs since, like, the age of like two almost,

0:02:37 > 0:02:41and we've always had, like, piggy things in my bedroom,

0:02:41 > 0:02:43piggy things everywhere on my walls.

0:02:45 > 0:02:49At school everyone thinks it's really unusual and different

0:02:49 > 0:02:53that I've got something so unique, and they're so loving as you can see.

0:02:53 > 0:02:57And they just love to be petted and they roll over for you,

0:02:57 > 0:02:59and they're just really nice to have.

0:03:00 > 0:03:05But it's this giant porker that is the centre of her spice world.

0:03:05 > 0:03:11Geri's two years old and she's Geri cos of her ginger hair.

0:03:11 > 0:03:12When she was younger she was more ginger.

0:03:12 > 0:03:14That's why she got the name Geri Halliwell,

0:03:14 > 0:03:17but as she's got older and as it's the winter,

0:03:17 > 0:03:19she's turned a bit more subtle.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22She's very protective of her piglets.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24She's almost more dominant than the boar,

0:03:24 > 0:03:27which is quite nice cos it's like girl power in a way.

0:03:27 > 0:03:31Geri and the other Mangalitzas are very similar to an English breed,

0:03:31 > 0:03:33the Lincolnshire curly coat.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35A seriously bouffant breed

0:03:35 > 0:03:38that became extinct in the UK in the 1970s.

0:03:38 > 0:03:41# Oh, Mr Hairdresser... #

0:03:47 > 0:03:50These hairy pigs have a thick coat

0:03:50 > 0:03:53that allows them to survive the toughest winters.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55When we first got them over in England,

0:03:55 > 0:03:59people thought we curled their hair, which is silly, but we don't.

0:03:59 > 0:04:00It's just how they are.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03I think it's really good that we're trying to save their breed,

0:04:03 > 0:04:06because they're a special breed. They're not like any others.

0:04:19 > 0:04:20PIG SQUEALS

0:04:20 > 0:04:24They're not just pigs, they're more than pigs, much more than pigs.

0:04:24 > 0:04:25They're very, very friendly.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28They're very human friendly.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31They have great characteristics as far as pigs are concerned.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34Mothering qualities are superb

0:04:34 > 0:04:37and nicest of all is that they're good with children.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39We keep all the rare breeds here.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43Today, sadly, Geri is one of just a few

0:04:43 > 0:04:45woolly Mangalitzas left in the world.

0:04:45 > 0:04:49I think it's really important that people understand

0:04:49 > 0:04:53that if she and other Mangalitzas don't carry on breeding

0:04:53 > 0:04:55and people don't breed them,

0:04:55 > 0:04:59then they will become extinct and there'll be no more Mangalitzas left.

0:04:59 > 0:05:03That'll be a really big shame, because Mangalitzas are so special

0:05:03 > 0:05:05and they're just so different to other pigs.

0:05:05 > 0:05:07I think it's really important that they keep going.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17She'll be hitting the phones

0:05:17 > 0:05:20and trying to get Geri a modelling contract.

0:05:20 > 0:05:24My dream would be for Mangalitzas to not be rare any more,

0:05:24 > 0:05:26so they're not in danger.

0:05:26 > 0:05:28I really hope Geri can pull through.

0:05:28 > 0:05:31She can pull anything off cos she's a special pig.

0:05:31 > 0:05:33Today a photographer has arrived,

0:05:33 > 0:05:38and Geri's career as the ultimate pin-up pig is about to begin.

0:05:38 > 0:05:42Fingers crossed that he's gonna take good enough pictures

0:05:42 > 0:05:43to make Geri very famous.

0:05:43 > 0:05:46- Hi.- How ya doing? - I'm Maisie.- Nice to you meet you.

0:05:46 > 0:05:49I'm good. I need you to know these pictures have to be perfect.

0:05:49 > 0:05:52She needs to be glamorous, she needs to be feisty,

0:05:52 > 0:05:54she needs to be Geri Halliwell, kind of, style.

0:05:55 > 0:05:58There's a lot riding on this photoshoot.

0:05:58 > 0:06:00Geri needs to react well to the paparazzi

0:06:00 > 0:06:03if she's going to make the Mangalitzas famous.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06- She's being a bit of a diva really, isn't she?- Geri!

0:06:06 > 0:06:07- What do you reckon?- Yeah.

0:06:12 > 0:06:15Now we're checking in to the Czech Republic.

0:06:21 > 0:06:25What's this? A dog that takes their owner for a run? On a bike?

0:06:25 > 0:06:29But wait a minute, this is actually a sport known as Bikejoring.

0:06:32 > 0:06:36Sonja and Pay live in a small ski-resort town northeast of Prague.

0:06:36 > 0:06:40When there's snow on the ground, Sonja goes skijoring.

0:06:40 > 0:06:44That's when one or two dogs pulls her on skis.

0:06:44 > 0:06:47The rest of the year she goes bikejoring with Pay.

0:06:48 > 0:06:51I just love him. I understand him.

0:06:51 > 0:06:55I'm very happy I can, you know, have him for races and for trainings.

0:06:55 > 0:06:58He's perfect dog, I think.

0:06:58 > 0:07:02It's fair to say that Pay doesn't find it a drag!

0:07:02 > 0:07:04Although they've won many trophies,

0:07:04 > 0:07:06they compete for the pure love of the sport.

0:07:06 > 0:07:10So now they're training and training for the world championship in Spain,

0:07:10 > 0:07:14getting ready so they might make it to the top of their game.

0:07:14 > 0:07:18We usually race fastest.

0:07:18 > 0:07:22The key to successful bikejoring is control.

0:07:22 > 0:07:26Sonja has to pedal hard to help Pay run up steep inclines.

0:07:26 > 0:07:28And then she applies the brakes,

0:07:28 > 0:07:30so they don't crash when they go downhill.

0:07:33 > 0:07:39He's a leader so he knows where to turn, where to stop, you know,

0:07:39 > 0:07:43how to start the race and he's very competitive.

0:07:43 > 0:07:49He likes to overtake other dogs and he always loves to be first.

0:07:49 > 0:07:53Pay is an excellent athlete, but he's easily spooked.

0:07:55 > 0:08:00He just made a small mistake and he turned ten metres before the tunnel,

0:08:00 > 0:08:02so on a small bridge.

0:08:02 > 0:08:06I didn't expect that at all, so I fell down.

0:08:09 > 0:08:11I hit my head.

0:08:11 > 0:08:13I didn't know for a while, you know, what's going on.

0:08:13 > 0:08:17When Sonja heard another racer behind her,

0:08:17 > 0:08:18she jumped back on her bike

0:08:18 > 0:08:21and she and Pay still managed to come in second.

0:08:21 > 0:08:23And, for that, Sonja is very grateful.

0:08:23 > 0:08:27I just love him. He's a nice dog, so beautiful.

0:08:27 > 0:08:31Last year's crash scared Sonja and Pay.

0:08:31 > 0:08:33She's hoping the memory won't hold them back.

0:08:33 > 0:08:38They are determined to practice hard for the European Championships.

0:08:40 > 0:08:42I didn't go on a bike for three weeks

0:08:42 > 0:08:46and when I started again I was shaking,

0:08:46 > 0:08:50and when I went fast with the dog, I thought I can fall down.

0:08:50 > 0:08:54It took Sonja a while to overcome her fears.

0:08:54 > 0:08:57Pay is still nervous, so Sonja is working hard,

0:08:57 > 0:09:00so that he won't get spooked in the upcoming race.

0:09:00 > 0:09:04If I encourage him enough, he gets more confidence with me

0:09:04 > 0:09:07and he's doing miracles.

0:09:07 > 0:09:10Continuing to build Pay's confidence,

0:09:10 > 0:09:11Sonja takes him everywhere.

0:09:11 > 0:09:15# Just the two of us... #

0:09:15 > 0:09:17I'm spending a lot of time with him

0:09:17 > 0:09:20and I get to understand him more and more,

0:09:20 > 0:09:23and he works for me very nice, you know?

0:09:23 > 0:09:25He's getting better and better.

0:09:25 > 0:09:28If Pay stays calm and runs well,

0:09:28 > 0:09:31they may get another trophy to add to their collection.

0:09:34 > 0:09:37Five weeks have passed and it's race weekend for Sonja and Pay

0:09:37 > 0:09:39at the World Bikejoring Championship.

0:09:41 > 0:09:44There are over 200 competitors from ten countries.

0:09:46 > 0:09:51Each team races the 7.6 kilometre course twice over the weekend.

0:09:51 > 0:09:54The lowest combined time wins.

0:09:54 > 0:09:56Yesterday was a disaster.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59Sonja's chain broke in the middle of the race.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01Even though she pushed with her leg,

0:10:01 > 0:10:04Pay had to pull more weight than usual.

0:10:04 > 0:10:07Losing precious minutes, the pair hobbled to the finish line.

0:10:07 > 0:10:09Today is the deciding championship race.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12They're both feeling nervous after yesterday's bad luck.

0:10:15 > 0:10:17It's been raining all weekend.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19The track is muddy and slippery.

0:10:19 > 0:10:24To make matters worse, Sonja's had to borrow her boyfriend's bike.

0:10:24 > 0:10:28If I'm nervous, he's taking it from me so much,

0:10:28 > 0:10:32so I have to think to be less nervous,

0:10:32 > 0:10:34so maybe Pay will be less nervous as well.

0:10:34 > 0:10:37So it's all on for this race.

0:10:37 > 0:10:40If she wins she's still got a chance at taking first place,

0:10:40 > 0:10:43but it's a lot of time to make up!

0:10:45 > 0:10:49Racing through the mud is tough and soggy and filthy.

0:10:50 > 0:10:56Certainly no sticks in the mud, Pay and Sonja make it to the finish.

0:10:56 > 0:10:59How did they do?

0:10:59 > 0:11:03Sadly today's good time can't make up for the lost time yesterday,

0:11:03 > 0:11:05so there'll be no medal this weekend.

0:11:05 > 0:11:07I'm very proud of him.

0:11:07 > 0:11:11He's doing the best with me so that I'm proud most of.

0:11:11 > 0:11:15But they got over their bad crash, and they managed to finish.

0:11:15 > 0:11:17Well done, guys.

0:11:17 > 0:11:21I know when all the things go right, we could win.

0:11:21 > 0:11:22We are just a very good team.

0:11:22 > 0:11:26I think he loves me and I love him.

0:11:26 > 0:11:27It's a nice feeling.

0:11:30 > 0:11:34We've been keeping an eye on your pets

0:11:34 > 0:11:37to see what they get up to on their days off!

0:11:37 > 0:11:39Meet Spook the cat from London.

0:11:39 > 0:11:41Mornin'.

0:11:45 > 0:11:47He really loves to catnap!

0:11:53 > 0:11:57Now we're trotting back over to Wiltshire in the UK.

0:11:59 > 0:12:03Earlier, we met Geri the Mangalitza.

0:12:03 > 0:12:08One of only a few in the UK, she's a rare breed porker. Maisie, her agent

0:12:08 > 0:12:13wants to make her furry face famous and to get her a modelling contract.

0:12:13 > 0:12:15So Geri's job basically

0:12:15 > 0:12:19is to become the face of Mangalitzas all over the country.

0:12:19 > 0:12:21Today, her snout is about to get

0:12:21 > 0:12:25some shots for her "pork-folio" by animal photographer Nick.

0:12:25 > 0:12:30It's really important that I get these pictures absolutely perfect.

0:12:30 > 0:12:34But how will this feisty furry female react to the camera?

0:12:34 > 0:12:37That's important with an animal that wants to be a star

0:12:37 > 0:12:39because it doesn't just need to be good-looking.

0:12:39 > 0:12:43It's gotta be laid back, have a good personality.

0:12:49 > 0:12:52Yeah. That way.

0:12:53 > 0:12:55Want to try and call her back?

0:12:55 > 0:12:58Geri!

0:13:01 > 0:13:05Oh, dear. It seems like she's going to be a bit of a prima donna.

0:13:05 > 0:13:10- She's being a bit of a diva really, isn't she? What do you reckon?- Yeah.

0:13:10 > 0:13:11Now she's gone now, look.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14I was just trying to get a wide-angle shot of her babies,

0:13:14 > 0:13:16but she's not very happy about that.

0:13:16 > 0:13:20You'll have to go with a bucket of food again, to try to get her round

0:13:20 > 0:13:24cos I'm not so sure we've got those perfect pictures for you.

0:13:24 > 0:13:25- That's it, good.- Come on, Geri.

0:13:25 > 0:13:27Come back again.

0:13:27 > 0:13:31This is where you're gonna get your exercise now. Go, go, go, go, go!

0:13:31 > 0:13:33Excellent.

0:13:35 > 0:13:36That's great.

0:13:36 > 0:13:40Her job's quite hard but she'll pull through cos she's a feisty mum.

0:13:40 > 0:13:43That's obviously dinner time, is it?

0:13:43 > 0:13:45She's working very hard,

0:13:45 > 0:13:47and this model mum doesn't even stop for lunch!

0:13:49 > 0:13:53Victoria Beckham's over there. She looks very jealous at the moment

0:13:53 > 0:13:56cos Geri Halliwell's stolen the spotlight.

0:13:57 > 0:14:01Geri Halliwell, has she got an agent yet or are you gonna be her agent?

0:14:01 > 0:14:03- I'm her agent.- You're her agent.

0:14:03 > 0:14:07- Well, I think you're gonna have an easy job really.- Yeah.

0:14:07 > 0:14:09Her face is gonna be everywhere.

0:14:09 > 0:14:14I want it to be plastered everywhere so everybody can know about the pigs,

0:14:14 > 0:14:17and know about Mangalitzas and really get to grips with them.

0:14:17 > 0:14:21I'm really excited to see what the photos come out like

0:14:21 > 0:14:23so hopefully everything's good.

0:14:23 > 0:14:27There's just time at the end of the shoot to pick out the best shot.

0:14:27 > 0:14:29You'll see what a good pig she is.

0:14:29 > 0:14:32- She looks a bit feisty there.- That what you want? OK, we can do feisty.

0:14:32 > 0:14:36- Glamour.- We can see her eye, her eye nicely on that.

0:14:36 > 0:14:39- I quite like that one.- Yep.

0:14:39 > 0:14:41I'm here today photographing.

0:14:41 > 0:14:43It could be Hello, OK magazine tomorrow. Who knows?

0:14:43 > 0:14:46If they've got any sense they'll be after her.

0:14:46 > 0:14:49I like this one and I was hoping you could print them off for me

0:14:49 > 0:14:53- so I can give them to other organisations.- We can do that.

0:14:53 > 0:14:56- You want it done quickly I presume? - Very quickly.- It's an urgent job.

0:14:56 > 0:15:00- I'll get that sorted out for you. - OK. Thank you very much.

0:15:00 > 0:15:02Thank you. I've really enjoyed that today.

0:15:02 > 0:15:05So what's next for Maisie's PR campaign?

0:15:05 > 0:15:08I'm gonna have to give them to agents, different organisations,

0:15:08 > 0:15:11and I'm gonna have to quite push my way into that

0:15:11 > 0:15:14and so she becomes famous and everyone knows her.

0:15:14 > 0:15:16I'm really gonna have to push that.

0:15:18 > 0:15:20She's come to be in the camera again.

0:15:20 > 0:15:21She's a pig on a mission

0:15:21 > 0:15:23and I think she's definitely gonna complete it.

0:15:23 > 0:15:27But the photos are just the start of Geri's career,

0:15:27 > 0:15:30as Maisie will take them down to an animal model agency

0:15:30 > 0:15:33to see if she can get this gorgeous hog a contract.

0:15:33 > 0:15:38But will Maisie get what she wants - what she really, really wants?

0:15:41 > 0:15:45Next up, worms. Hey, hey, hey, don't you go wriggling off now.

0:15:45 > 0:15:48These aren't the slimy little suckers. Oh, no.

0:15:48 > 0:15:51These worms are as silky smooth as yours truly.

0:15:54 > 0:15:58And they work to make a fabulous fabric.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00Don't believe me? Well, take a look at this.

0:16:02 > 0:16:05Now we're worming our way over to Nairobi, Kenya.

0:16:26 > 0:16:29Say hello to Cedric. This creeping critter

0:16:29 > 0:16:32might not appear that important at first glance,

0:16:32 > 0:16:36but this is Cedric, and he makes the finest fabrics known to humanity.

0:16:39 > 0:16:42Cedric is a silkworm and it's his job to create the thread

0:16:42 > 0:16:45that makes these posh textiles.

0:16:47 > 0:16:49Cedric started life as an egg

0:16:49 > 0:16:53that was the same size as the head of a pencil.

0:16:55 > 0:16:59When he hatched, he ate and grew, and ate and grew,

0:16:59 > 0:17:03until he had multiplied his own weight 10,000 times over!

0:17:05 > 0:17:10To grow this fast, silkworms need to eat mulberry leaves every half hour

0:17:10 > 0:17:12for a whole month.

0:17:14 > 0:17:17One female silkworm will hatch

0:17:17 > 0:17:20about 400 to 500 silk worm eggs

0:17:20 > 0:17:22so Cedric will have about 400 brothers

0:17:22 > 0:17:24along with him when he's growing up.

0:17:24 > 0:17:27Hmm, I don't know how she knows which one Cedric is!

0:17:35 > 0:17:39- Hey. Great party! - Oh yeah. Everybody's here.

0:17:39 > 0:17:43- Oh yeah, good to see you guys. - Not only is Cedric working

0:17:43 > 0:17:45alongside hundreds of his siblings,

0:17:45 > 0:17:48thousands of his close and distant relatives

0:17:48 > 0:17:50are also taking part in the silk-making process.

0:17:50 > 0:17:53# You spin me right round Baby right round... #

0:17:53 > 0:17:56One month after hatching, Cedric is already big enough

0:17:56 > 0:18:00and has enough energy to start spinning his cocoon.

0:18:00 > 0:18:03Cedric is very good at what he does. He was born to do it.

0:18:03 > 0:18:07He wakes up every day and he knows his job is to produce silk

0:18:07 > 0:18:10so he will do it to the best that he can do it.

0:18:10 > 0:18:14To show that he's ready to start work, Cedric produces a green goo

0:18:14 > 0:18:18from his stomach and then settles down to his life's work.

0:18:22 > 0:18:25The fluffy white cocoon that Cedric and his friends

0:18:25 > 0:18:28are spinning around themselves is actually made of

0:18:28 > 0:18:30one long continuous silk string.

0:18:32 > 0:18:34If you unwound it,

0:18:34 > 0:18:38each string would be long enough to go twice around a running track.

0:18:38 > 0:18:41So it's not a surprise that every cocoon takes

0:18:41 > 0:18:43three to four days to spin.

0:18:46 > 0:18:50The silk comes out of Cedric's mouth and he uses his tiny front legs

0:18:50 > 0:18:54to place the string into position in the cocoon.

0:18:58 > 0:19:01Once Cedric's part in the silk-making process is complete,

0:19:01 > 0:19:04he can retire happy in the knowledge that

0:19:04 > 0:19:06he's left behind his silken legacy.

0:19:10 > 0:19:12After Cedric's work is done,

0:19:12 > 0:19:15he hands the job over to the team in the factory.

0:19:16 > 0:19:21They don't just twist together some of the strings to make thread,

0:19:21 > 0:19:25they weave the thread into a gorgeous fabric.

0:19:25 > 0:19:30Next the gorgeous fabric is dyed or printed.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33It takes 700 cocoons to make just one silk scarf.

0:19:35 > 0:19:37This isn't just a silk scarf,

0:19:37 > 0:19:39this is the fabric of Kings,

0:19:39 > 0:19:43brought to you by Cedric and friends.

0:19:48 > 0:19:52Meet Frank the camel, who is particular about headwear.

0:19:55 > 0:19:57Very pretty!

0:20:08 > 0:20:11If you want to get ahead, get a hat.

0:20:11 > 0:20:15If you've got the hump, get lots and lots of hats!

0:20:20 > 0:20:23Now we're swooping over to the US of A.

0:20:41 > 0:20:43At the Port Angeles Coastguard Base,

0:20:43 > 0:20:47everyone stands to attention for the daily raising of the flag.

0:20:47 > 0:20:49But some base personnel, like bird chaser Wiley,

0:20:49 > 0:20:53just can't wait until the end to start work.

0:20:56 > 0:20:59And Wiley's boss is full of praise for his mutt.

0:20:59 > 0:21:02Wiley fulfills a very important role for us.

0:21:02 > 0:21:06His main goal is to basically chase birds all day.

0:21:06 > 0:21:10The air station is on Ediz Hook, a magnet for birds.

0:21:12 > 0:21:17It's a bit of land that sticks out seven kilometres into the harbour.

0:21:17 > 0:21:21It's very dangerous for birds if they get close to the helicopter.

0:21:27 > 0:21:31- RADIO:- Please be advised. We have a report of approximately 150 birds

0:21:31 > 0:21:33on the end of the runway. Over.

0:21:35 > 0:21:38If there's one thing you can say about Wiley,

0:21:38 > 0:21:41it's that he's great at scaring off birds.

0:21:41 > 0:21:43Wiley, go get them.

0:21:43 > 0:21:45WILEY BARKS

0:21:45 > 0:21:49'Before Wiley got here, we had a real serious problem.'

0:21:49 > 0:21:53We had anywhere from 500 - 600 birds during the nesting season

0:21:53 > 0:21:56that would just sit on the runway. We devoted large amounts

0:21:56 > 0:21:59of time and money into trying to solve the problem.

0:21:59 > 0:22:04Finally we found an article about a Border Collie at an airport

0:22:04 > 0:22:06that had been used to drive the birds away.

0:22:06 > 0:22:08We searched through Border Collie rescue

0:22:08 > 0:22:11and we were able to find this dog and, sure enough,

0:22:11 > 0:22:15as soon as he got out of the truck he started tearing off after the birds.

0:22:15 > 0:22:17So it was a perfect match.

0:22:17 > 0:22:19We were able to get a dog to do the job

0:22:19 > 0:22:21and we're able to do him a service by keeping him

0:22:21 > 0:22:25away from the pound and providing him with a very happy home.

0:22:29 > 0:22:34Because Wiley is so good at his job, he's got a quiet life at the base.

0:22:34 > 0:22:35Well...

0:22:37 > 0:22:39HELICOPTER WHIRRS

0:22:39 > 0:22:41..As quiet as an air base gets.

0:22:41 > 0:22:45In fact, top dog Wiley really does have a very easy life.

0:22:48 > 0:22:51Which gives Wiley plenty of free time to make his rounds

0:22:51 > 0:22:53and check on how his base is running.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58Wiley roams the base checking for any cheeky birds.

0:22:59 > 0:23:02All the base personnel make sure that Wiley is looked after,

0:23:02 > 0:23:04and he gets treats wherever he goes.

0:23:06 > 0:23:09He also makes sure everything is working correctly.

0:23:09 > 0:23:11He even has top secret clearance.

0:23:11 > 0:23:17He's allowed to go where most of the humans aren't even permitted!

0:23:17 > 0:23:21In fact, at times it gets pretty hard to see who's boss on this base.

0:23:28 > 0:23:32If Wiley had a rank, he'd definitely be the commanding officer,

0:23:32 > 0:23:35cos he has free rein to go wherever he pleases.

0:23:35 > 0:23:38Everyone pays him a fair amount of respect.

0:23:38 > 0:23:42Pretty much when he wants something, he gets it.

0:23:42 > 0:23:46In fact, there's only one thing this top dog isn't allowed to do,

0:23:46 > 0:23:49and that's fly the helicopters!

0:23:49 > 0:23:53Wiley, what are you doing in here? We're gonna go flying. Come on!

0:23:53 > 0:23:566580 Port Angeles.

0:23:56 > 0:23:59Be advised. Wiley is on the landing pad at this time.

0:23:59 > 0:24:02Cancel my last. Wiley is clear.

0:24:02 > 0:24:05It's the end of the day and most of the base personnel are heading home,

0:24:05 > 0:24:07but this is Wiley's home,

0:24:07 > 0:24:11and he spends his evenings keeping the night shift company.

0:24:11 > 0:24:13He definitely provides a dual mission for us.

0:24:13 > 0:24:17We got him to chase the birds. That was the reason for bringing him here,

0:24:17 > 0:24:21but we've been very fortunate that his disposition is so friendly

0:24:21 > 0:24:23and he enjoys being with people so much

0:24:23 > 0:24:26that he's really endeared himself to the entire crew.

0:24:26 > 0:24:30Wiley the bird chaser has even got his own set of wings.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33This is one top dog.

0:24:37 > 0:24:40We're trotting back to Wiltshire in England.

0:24:43 > 0:24:48Geri the Mangalitza pig is hamming it up for the cameras.

0:24:48 > 0:24:5114-year-old Maisie is hoping that these pictures will get

0:24:51 > 0:24:55some much needed publicity for the rare breed of pork pedigree.

0:24:58 > 0:25:00OK, thank you very much. Bye.

0:25:00 > 0:25:03To get some exposure, Maisie has headed down

0:25:03 > 0:25:06to the Pig Breeders' Association, who promote rare breeds.

0:25:06 > 0:25:10If they can provide a poster for this magnificent Mangalitza

0:25:10 > 0:25:13then she might just get the modelling contract.

0:25:13 > 0:25:16I'm looking for lots of posters so I can put her everywhere

0:25:16 > 0:25:20so people really can tell that it's Geri the Mangalitza.

0:25:20 > 0:25:22I was wondering if you could help me.

0:25:22 > 0:25:24Well, I'm sure we can.

0:25:24 > 0:25:28Result! The poster can only help Maisie get Geri the contract.

0:25:28 > 0:25:31- These are the posters that we do. - They look brilliant.

0:25:31 > 0:25:33So there's only one hurdle left.

0:25:33 > 0:25:36Maisie is going in for the hard sell

0:25:36 > 0:25:39with an executive at an exclusive photographic agency.

0:25:39 > 0:25:43Welcome to Britain's Top Mangalitza Model!

0:25:43 > 0:25:48Executive Georgie Knight can make or break Geri's career.

0:25:48 > 0:25:50I'm trying to make Geri - Geri Halliwell -

0:25:50 > 0:25:54I'm trying to make her the pin-up pig, like the ultimate worldwide

0:25:54 > 0:25:59superstar because I want her face to be the face of Mangalitza.

0:25:59 > 0:26:01OK. Have you got some pictures to show me?

0:26:01 > 0:26:04Yeah, I've got some right here. These are some pictures

0:26:04 > 0:26:07we took the other day with a photographer called Nick.

0:26:07 > 0:26:10- Gosh she's very hairy!- Yeah. That's one of the special things

0:26:10 > 0:26:14about Mangalitzas - they have special curly hair and in the winter

0:26:14 > 0:26:16it gets a lot more woolly, almost like sheep in a way.

0:26:16 > 0:26:19So why would I want to put her on my website?

0:26:19 > 0:26:21Well, Geri's like an amazing pig.

0:26:21 > 0:26:24She has so many qualities and we really need her

0:26:24 > 0:26:28to get her face seen by everybody because, without her,

0:26:28 > 0:26:32I don't think we're gonna have many Mangalitzas around for much longer.

0:26:32 > 0:26:35So it all rests on Georgie picking Geri to be on her website.

0:26:41 > 0:26:43So she is quite special then.

0:26:43 > 0:26:45She's very special to me.

0:26:45 > 0:26:49Well, we'd be happy to put her on our website for you.

0:26:49 > 0:26:51Success!

0:26:51 > 0:26:56Coming soon to a screen near you, Geri the gorgeous Mangalitza.

0:27:00 > 0:27:04Now that Geri's famous it's time to sing along to her special song.

0:27:04 > 0:27:06Here goes. 'All together now.'
