0:01:58 > 0:02:02Oh, no. My script. What am I gonna say?

0:02:02 > 0:02:05Don't look at me like that with all doe-faced puppy eyes.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07HE SOBS

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Ah, who needs a script? I'm a professional!

0:02:09 > 0:02:12First we're visiting North Yorkshire in the UK.

0:02:18 > 0:02:20Dr Valentine is a four year-old gelding

0:02:20 > 0:02:23whose career isn't exactly on track.

0:02:23 > 0:02:27He dreams of being one of the best racehorses in the world,

0:02:27 > 0:02:29of performing in front of millions of people,

0:02:29 > 0:02:32sprinting to glory on tracks around the globe.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35But one little thing stands in his way.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44Dr Valentine is the naughtiest racehorse in the world.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50Dr Valentine's personality is a very difficult one.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54He's very headstrong - he's got his own way of wanting to do things.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56He likes to run backwards.

0:02:57 > 0:03:02He likes to buck and kick and whip round and generally just misbehave.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06In fact, Dr Valentine's behaviour has been so bad

0:03:06 > 0:03:09he's been completely banned from racing in France!

0:03:10 > 0:03:14That's right, completely banned!

0:03:14 > 0:03:17That takes some doing!

0:03:17 > 0:03:19He'd been racing out there, not very successfully

0:03:19 > 0:03:22and in fact had been banned from racing

0:03:22 > 0:03:25because of his bad behaviour in the starting stalls.

0:03:25 > 0:03:28But today all that could change.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31He's realised that his bad behaviour may be standing in the way

0:03:31 > 0:03:34of the racing success of which he dreams,

0:03:34 > 0:03:37so he has been working hard on improving his temperament.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39And today is the biggest day in his career.

0:03:39 > 0:03:44He's been entered into a race which he's got his eye on winning.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47So he's going to have to be on his best behaviour,

0:03:47 > 0:03:50which, as far as Dr Valentine's concerned,

0:03:50 > 0:03:52couldn't be a bigger challenge.

0:03:52 > 0:03:56It's just in his nature to want to be naughty.

0:03:56 > 0:03:58And there's no question -

0:03:58 > 0:04:02being naughty is not a good attribute for a racehorse.

0:04:02 > 0:04:07A top racehorse needs to be focused and disciplined,

0:04:07 > 0:04:10as these are skills vital to winning races.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13What's more, the very nature of their job means

0:04:13 > 0:04:16they often travel to different places and meet new people.

0:04:16 > 0:04:20So being calm and able to adjust to new environments is essential.

0:04:23 > 0:04:24And that's not all.

0:04:24 > 0:04:27They frequently spend time with new horses

0:04:27 > 0:04:31so need to behave professionally and not distract their competitors

0:04:31 > 0:04:33by putting them off their race preparation.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36Luckily, Ann and her team are willing to do everything

0:04:36 > 0:04:40to try and help Dr Valentine with his dreams of racing success.

0:04:40 > 0:04:44They've drafted in a new coach, who's a little out of the ordinary.

0:04:44 > 0:04:48No, not him, but this lovely lady.

0:04:48 > 0:04:51This is Nutty the Goat.

0:04:51 > 0:04:53Nutty's a professional horse whisperer.

0:04:53 > 0:04:56Her job is to help racehorses keep calm.

0:04:56 > 0:05:00It's important that racehorses are happy and they're relaxed.

0:05:00 > 0:05:04Nutty is very crucial and has become a very important part of the team

0:05:04 > 0:05:08cos she talks to all the horses and anything that is a little bit

0:05:08 > 0:05:12nervous, worried or anxious, she becomes their best friend.

0:05:16 > 0:05:18So these guys have been spending lots of time together

0:05:18 > 0:05:21and hopefully have worked out the issues

0:05:21 > 0:05:24that have made Dr Valentine such a naughty boy.

0:05:24 > 0:05:27But the proof is always in the pudding

0:05:27 > 0:05:32and today's the day we find out just how far Dr Valentine's come.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35He's put in all the hard work in training

0:05:35 > 0:05:37and is in top physical condition

0:05:37 > 0:05:40but can he be on his best behaviour for Ann, Nutty, and...

0:05:40 > 0:05:43most importantly... his jockey, Keith?

0:05:43 > 0:05:46He's thrown a few riders before.

0:05:46 > 0:05:50Hopefully today will be a good day and he won't do that to me.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Yes, throwing Keith off is not part of the plan.

0:05:53 > 0:05:57Neither is another favourite naughty trick - running backwards!

0:05:57 > 0:06:01Oh, and getting disqualified and banned? A definite no-no.

0:06:01 > 0:06:04Today's race will define Dr Valentine's career.

0:06:04 > 0:06:07It could be his first step to stardom -

0:06:07 > 0:06:10if he can stop horsing around.

0:06:13 > 0:06:16Later on, it's Dr Valentine's big race.

0:06:16 > 0:06:19- But will he- stirrup - trouble for himself?

0:06:26 > 0:06:28We've been searching the internet

0:06:28 > 0:06:30to find out what animals do on their days off.

0:06:30 > 0:06:33Check out this cute pussycat from California

0:06:33 > 0:06:36who's intent on busting the myth that cats hate getting wet.

0:06:36 > 0:06:41Oh, wow, there's nothing like a cold shower. I love it - meow!

0:06:41 > 0:06:45But not all cats would, so please don't try this at home!

0:06:48 > 0:06:50And now those kids who love animals -

0:06:50 > 0:06:52- it's the... Fanimals!- Yeah!

0:06:54 > 0:06:57Let's meet the Fanimals, our animal detectives,

0:06:57 > 0:07:01Heather, Gianna, and Chantille.

0:07:01 > 0:07:06Today the Fanimals are being really good sports by finding out

0:07:06 > 0:07:10which animal would make the best professional goalkeeper.

0:07:11 > 0:07:13The candidates are Lewis the Lion.

0:07:13 > 0:07:15Roar!

0:07:15 > 0:07:18- Dotty the Border Collie. - Woof! Woof!

0:07:18 > 0:07:20And Rosie the Cassowary bird.

0:07:20 > 0:07:22Ca-caw! Ca-caw!

0:07:26 > 0:07:29Good goalkeepers have fast reflexes, a keen eye,

0:07:29 > 0:07:32and the ability to stay focused.

0:07:32 > 0:07:35The skills that you need is running, catching.

0:07:35 > 0:07:37You should be able to like jump quickly to the side.

0:07:37 > 0:07:40I like the lion cos he's the king of the jungle.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43- I think it's the bird. - I think it's the bird as well.

0:07:43 > 0:07:46Whoa there. Don't answer just yet.

0:07:46 > 0:07:48Let's check out their CVs.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52Candidate one - Lewis the Lion.

0:07:52 > 0:07:54Lions are excellent hunters

0:07:54 > 0:07:57and can run the length of a football pitch in six seconds.

0:07:57 > 0:08:01But would Louis' hunting skills help his goalkeeping?

0:08:01 > 0:08:02People will be screaming.

0:08:02 > 0:08:04And then he starts chasing everyone.

0:08:06 > 0:08:09In between hunts, lions sleep a lot.

0:08:09 > 0:08:12# The lion sleeps tonight. #

0:08:12 > 0:08:14As much as 20 hours per day.

0:08:14 > 0:08:17He might fall asleep during the game.

0:08:17 > 0:08:22But it would be really good to lie on, cos he's very furry on his mane.

0:08:22 > 0:08:26It may not come as a surprise but lions have very impressive roars.

0:08:26 > 0:08:29ROARS

0:08:29 > 0:08:36The roar of an adult lion warns off intruders up to five miles away.

0:08:38 > 0:08:41Could this help Lewis with his potential new profession?

0:08:43 > 0:08:47On to candidate number two, Dotty the Border Collie.

0:08:47 > 0:08:50Border Collies were bred to herd sheep

0:08:50 > 0:08:54and now top the charts as one of the most intelligent dogs around.

0:08:54 > 0:08:58But is intelligence an important factor in goalkeeping?

0:08:58 > 0:09:01When they're in the goal they they watch the ball

0:09:01 > 0:09:04and they stand and wait for it to come to their end.

0:09:04 > 0:09:09Their day jobs herding sheep means that collies have to be quick.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12And when I say "quick" I mean quick.

0:09:16 > 0:09:18As well as speed, Dotty and her fellow collies

0:09:18 > 0:09:21are also famous for their stamina.

0:09:21 > 0:09:24They can work tirelessly for hours on end.

0:09:24 > 0:09:27But sometimes collies have a bit too much energy

0:09:27 > 0:09:30and can end up chasing anything that moves.

0:09:30 > 0:09:33Is all that running around good if you're keeping goal?

0:09:33 > 0:09:38And lastly, candidate number three, Rosie the Cassowary.

0:09:38 > 0:09:40Eew!

0:09:40 > 0:09:44The cassowary is the world's second heaviest bird after the ostrich.

0:09:44 > 0:09:48But the big O's shouldn't boast too much in front of Rosie,

0:09:48 > 0:09:52as cassowaries are considered the most dangerous birds around

0:09:52 > 0:09:55due to the sharp claws on their three-toed feet.

0:09:55 > 0:09:57I'm scared of birds.

0:09:57 > 0:10:01Cassowaries can't fly, but they're still amazingly athletic.

0:10:01 > 0:10:04They can run as fast as 30 miles per hour,

0:10:04 > 0:10:09they can jump two metres into the air, and they can also swim!

0:10:09 > 0:10:12Could any of those skills help Rosie between the sticks?

0:10:12 > 0:10:15It's the bird because it's very fast and unlike the lion

0:10:15 > 0:10:18it won't fall asleep, and it's very sporty.

0:10:18 > 0:10:20You've got to have good eyesight,

0:10:20 > 0:10:23cos you've got to watch the ball.

0:10:24 > 0:10:27So, Fanimals, have you made your decision?

0:10:27 > 0:10:29Who's going to be the best goalkeeper?

0:10:29 > 0:10:32We think it's the bird!

0:10:32 > 0:10:34Nice try, Fanimals, but you're wrong.

0:10:35 > 0:10:37The best goalkeeper is...

0:10:40 > 0:10:41Dotty the Border Collie!

0:10:41 > 0:10:45Oh, it's the dog. No!

0:10:45 > 0:10:46Just check this out.

0:10:46 > 0:10:49Dotty can save penalties, but that's not all.

0:10:49 > 0:10:54She's fearless, agile and puts strikers under pressure.

0:10:54 > 0:10:56So nothing gets past this keeper.

0:10:56 > 0:10:59I'm not sure if she's quite ready for the World Cup,

0:10:59 > 0:11:02but let's hear it for Dotty, Animals at Work's number one!

0:11:06 > 0:11:09Now, over to West Palm Beach in the USA.

0:11:17 > 0:11:21Today we're visiting the luxurious home of a schoolteacher

0:11:21 > 0:11:23with one simple goal -

0:11:23 > 0:11:25to make the world love dragons.

0:11:25 > 0:11:28# What's that coming over the hill

0:11:28 > 0:11:31# Is it a monster, is it a monster? #

0:11:31 > 0:11:35He may be a dragon but don't worry, he doesn't breathe fire.

0:11:35 > 0:11:39This is Spike. He's a bearded dragon and he's 11 years old.

0:11:39 > 0:11:45Bearded dragons are a type of lizard from Australia

0:11:45 > 0:11:48and get their name from their spiky beards.

0:11:48 > 0:11:51Spike's a senior citizen by Bearded Dragon standards,

0:11:51 > 0:11:53who live between ten and 20 years.

0:11:53 > 0:11:57He has the perfect job for a lizard with a lot of life experience.

0:11:57 > 0:12:00Spike is a professor. He goes to school,

0:12:00 > 0:12:02volunteers and teaches kids about lizards.

0:12:02 > 0:12:06That's right. 14 year-old Lilly and Spike travel round schools

0:12:06 > 0:12:10to show kids there's nothing to fear about lizards.

0:12:10 > 0:12:12In fact, there's a lot to love.

0:12:12 > 0:12:16Some of my friends think Spike is kind of weird.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19You know, he's a large lizard who likes to eat bugs.

0:12:19 > 0:12:21I just think Spike's wonderful.

0:12:21 > 0:12:24He's very loveable, observant and thoughtful.

0:12:24 > 0:12:27He always thinks about everything around him.

0:12:27 > 0:12:32Hmm. Ooh. Mmmm!

0:12:32 > 0:12:33Spike's job is important

0:12:33 > 0:12:36because thousands of lizards get abandoned every year.

0:12:36 > 0:12:40Teaching people to be responsible pet owners could prevent this.

0:12:40 > 0:12:45Spike and other lizards may look tough, but looks can be deceiving.

0:12:45 > 0:12:48He's never bitten anyone. He's a real sweetheart.

0:12:48 > 0:12:50The worst he's done is pooped on someone.

0:12:50 > 0:12:53Smelly maybe, but hardly terrifying!

0:12:53 > 0:12:58In his natural habitat, Spike would have been considered prey,

0:12:58 > 0:13:01hunted as food by Australian hawks,

0:13:01 > 0:13:04but as a pet, Spike has a great life.

0:13:05 > 0:13:09He gets to watch his favourite show.

0:13:09 > 0:13:12He suntans every day for heat and vitamin D.

0:13:13 > 0:13:18He gorges on fancy feasts of fresh mealworms and hibiscus flowers.

0:13:18 > 0:13:20He's got a lizard art collection.

0:13:20 > 0:13:23And to top it all off, he's even got his own driver

0:13:23 > 0:13:27to take him to schools to spread his message of lizard love.

0:13:27 > 0:13:32Today Spike's trying to win over pupils at a local primary school.

0:13:32 > 0:13:34The kids are excited, and so is Spike

0:13:34 > 0:13:37because the more people who hear his message,

0:13:37 > 0:13:40the more love they'll have for lizards!

0:13:40 > 0:13:43Would you guys like to see Spike, my bearded dragon?

0:13:43 > 0:13:45ALL: Yeah!

0:13:45 > 0:13:47It's Spike's big moment.

0:13:47 > 0:13:50OK, and here's Spike!

0:13:52 > 0:13:55Do you want me to pass him around? Yes? Would you like to pet him?

0:13:55 > 0:13:59Lilly shows everyone how to pet Spike really gently,

0:13:59 > 0:14:02and how to correctly hold him by supporting his belly.

0:14:02 > 0:14:05Spike's clearly comfortable with the crowd.

0:14:05 > 0:14:10If he wasn't he would hiss, puff up his beard or poo.

0:14:10 > 0:14:12But as always, he's on his best behaviour

0:14:12 > 0:14:14and is clearly making fans.

0:14:14 > 0:14:17They even seem concerned about his safety.

0:14:17 > 0:14:21What are his emenies, em, enemies?"

0:14:21 > 0:14:23Oh, birds like hawks or eagles.

0:14:23 > 0:14:27They like to eat lizards like this, or coyotes.

0:14:27 > 0:14:29Yes?

0:14:29 > 0:14:32Um, how does he survive from his enemies?

0:14:32 > 0:14:36He, he can puff up his beard to make himself look bigger, and make

0:14:36 > 0:14:40his spikes turn hard, and also he camouflages with his surroundings.

0:14:40 > 0:14:43That's why he's kind of a brownish yellow colour.

0:14:43 > 0:14:47No doubt about it - Spike's visit has made a big impression.

0:14:47 > 0:14:51I learned Spike is a cold blooded animal.

0:14:51 > 0:14:56I learned that lizards can grow their tail back once

0:14:56 > 0:14:58if you pull them off.

0:14:58 > 0:15:05When his beard popped out, I think it's going to look like a moustache.

0:15:05 > 0:15:08Spike has taught everyone a lot about lizards,

0:15:08 > 0:15:12but has he been successful in spreading the lizard love?

0:15:12 > 0:15:15I like him because he's nice.

0:15:15 > 0:15:17He's calm in the classroom.

0:15:17 > 0:15:22I liked him because he's really funny and cool.

0:15:22 > 0:15:25ALL: Thank you, Spike!

0:15:25 > 0:15:26Oh, thanks, you guys.

0:15:26 > 0:15:30Bravo! You've taught an important lesson and made friends!

0:15:30 > 0:15:33Not bad for an afternoon's work.

0:15:39 > 0:15:42We've searched for clips of what animals get up to on their days off.

0:15:42 > 0:15:46This is gonna be so cool!

0:15:46 > 0:15:50If I grab onto these balloons I'll be able to fly away! Fly!

0:15:50 > 0:15:53Then I can catch all the birds I want! Yummy, yummy!

0:15:53 > 0:15:54I'm not flying at all!

0:15:54 > 0:15:58Don't you laugh at me, Rover. Have you got any better ideas?

0:16:04 > 0:16:08Now it's off to West Palm Beach in the USA.

0:16:14 > 0:16:19Little Maya has a job jaguars aren't usually known for.

0:16:19 > 0:16:21She's an artist!

0:16:24 > 0:16:27Maya is a superstar.

0:16:27 > 0:16:28She's a diva.

0:16:31 > 0:16:34Maya creates these paintings all by herself

0:16:34 > 0:16:39using jaguar-safe paints, her bare paws and her unique artistic vision.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45At just one year of age, Maya is the baby of the family.

0:16:45 > 0:16:48That's not stopped her from painting.

0:16:48 > 0:16:52Now she's so good she even sells her work.

0:16:52 > 0:16:54But, Maya doesn't buy fast cars,

0:16:54 > 0:16:57designer clothing or bling.

0:16:57 > 0:17:01Instead, the money she earns benefits a worthy cause,

0:17:01 > 0:17:05raising funds to protect wild jaguars and feed captive ones.

0:17:05 > 0:17:09Maya has raised enough money to feed a jaguar for an entire month.

0:17:09 > 0:17:13Even when they're not professional painters,

0:17:13 > 0:17:15jaguars are amazing creatures.

0:17:15 > 0:17:18They're the planet's third largest wild cat.

0:17:18 > 0:17:22But, while there are bigger cats out there, none are stronger.

0:17:22 > 0:17:26Jaguars are considered to be the most powerful of all cats.

0:17:26 > 0:17:30They can carry objects weighing over 350 kilograms.

0:17:30 > 0:17:33That's the same weight as two chimpanzees...

0:17:33 > 0:17:35sitting on a piano!

0:17:35 > 0:17:39Jaguars are amazing creatures, so it's especially heart-breaking

0:17:39 > 0:17:42that their numbers in the wild are decreasing.

0:17:42 > 0:17:45In the wild they live about eight years

0:17:45 > 0:17:49because of human encroachment, poachers and habitat loss.

0:17:49 > 0:17:52In captivity, jaguars are safe so they can have babies

0:17:52 > 0:17:55and keep their population growing

0:17:55 > 0:17:58in an environment that meets their every need,

0:17:58 > 0:18:02including a big pool, and lots of room for roaming.

0:18:02 > 0:18:07With their strong jaws and sharp teeth, jaguars can be dangerous

0:18:07 > 0:18:11so no-one's going to force Maya to do anything she doesn't want to!

0:18:11 > 0:18:17If Amanda thinks Maya's up for some painting, she prepares the studio.

0:18:17 > 0:18:21She sets out the paper and some jaguar-safe paint.

0:18:21 > 0:18:22Then it's over to Maya.

0:18:22 > 0:18:26If she's feeling artistically inspired,

0:18:26 > 0:18:30then the creative juices... well, they go wild!

0:18:32 > 0:18:36Just another couple of strokes and voila!

0:18:36 > 0:18:38Another Maya Masterpiece!

0:18:38 > 0:18:43Looks like Maya's artist within has come out and it's beautiful.

0:18:43 > 0:18:46It may look like a load of pointless messy streaks,

0:18:46 > 0:18:48but, as with all the great artists,

0:18:48 > 0:18:52Maya's paintings are rich with expression and meaning.

0:18:52 > 0:18:55It's blue. A lot of blue - she loves to swim.

0:18:55 > 0:18:58I think she's thinking about going swimming.

0:18:58 > 0:19:00Amanda could be on to something.

0:19:00 > 0:19:05But what do I know? What do the critics think?

0:19:05 > 0:19:10- Maya's artwork's good.- I never seen artwork like that before.

0:19:10 > 0:19:13Maya was great!

0:19:13 > 0:19:17Maya has her head screwed on, and is taking success in her stride.

0:19:17 > 0:19:24Let's hear it for Maya, the jaguar with a picture purr-fect career!

0:19:27 > 0:19:31It's not just today that animals have had jobs.

0:19:31 > 0:19:34History reveals that, in the past,

0:19:34 > 0:19:37they've had even more amazing jobs than today.

0:19:37 > 0:19:40And here are those History's Heroes.

0:19:40 > 0:19:45Hello. I'm John Bumbleman, world renowned animal historian.

0:19:45 > 0:19:49I'm here to tell you about the most blood curdling beasts

0:19:49 > 0:19:52that have ever worked the planet.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55This is history's scariest heroes.

0:19:56 > 0:19:59It was the ancient Romans who employed our first scary employee.

0:19:59 > 0:20:02The Roman emperor staged gladiatorial games

0:20:02 > 0:20:06in huge amphitheatres, filled with crowds

0:20:06 > 0:20:08of up to 80,000 bloodthirsty people.

0:20:08 > 0:20:12They'd come to watch the Roman Empire's strongest men,

0:20:12 > 0:20:16the gladiators, fight against each other to the death.

0:20:16 > 0:20:20The one thing the gladiators feared more than they feared each other.

0:20:20 > 0:20:24The mighty lion and his long canine teeth.

0:20:24 > 0:20:28Sometimes these creatures were pitted against the gladiators

0:20:28 > 0:20:30in a fight to a bloody and gory end.

0:20:31 > 0:20:34You can see why that would have scared them.

0:20:34 > 0:20:37Imagine a lion thinking you were lunch.

0:20:37 > 0:20:40Our next scary hero worked for the Vikings

0:20:40 > 0:20:43and they had a particularly gruesome job.

0:20:43 > 0:20:46A Viking warlord would use vipers as executioners,

0:20:46 > 0:20:51throwing subjects who had displeased him into a snake pit.

0:20:51 > 0:20:53The vipers would get to work,

0:20:53 > 0:20:57biting the poor victims until they succumbed to their poison.

0:20:57 > 0:21:00That is horrible.

0:21:00 > 0:21:01Boo!

0:21:01 > 0:21:04Ah, that got ya, frightening stuff.

0:21:04 > 0:21:09But the top job for the scariest animal in history,

0:21:09 > 0:21:12surely goes to war elephants.

0:21:12 > 0:21:13Well, no.

0:21:13 > 0:21:17The elephant has the biggest brain in the entire animal kingdom

0:21:17 > 0:21:20but is not the scariest working animal in history.

0:21:20 > 0:21:21That accolade goes to...

0:21:21 > 0:21:23the pig.

0:21:23 > 0:21:25Around 2,300 years ago,

0:21:25 > 0:21:30Pyrrhus, the Greek King was very successful at conquering new lands,

0:21:30 > 0:21:34partly due to his use of terrifying war elephants.

0:21:34 > 0:21:38Most of the enemies in Europe had never seen an elephant,

0:21:38 > 0:21:39so they were petrified.

0:21:39 > 0:21:44But Pyrrhus' luck changed when he went to war with the Romans.

0:21:44 > 0:21:45Legend has it,

0:21:45 > 0:21:48the Roman army herded squealing pigs towards the war elephants,

0:21:48 > 0:21:53who were so scared, they promptly panicked and ran away,

0:21:53 > 0:21:56making a pig's ear out of Pyrrhus' battle plans

0:21:56 > 0:21:59and earning them their place in History's Heroes.

0:22:01 > 0:22:04HE MUMBLES

0:22:04 > 0:22:07What I was trying to say was,

0:22:07 > 0:22:10that brings us to the end of this week's history's heroes.

0:22:10 > 0:22:16Sleep tight and remember, don't have nightmares. Ahhhhh!

0:22:16 > 0:22:20Finally, it's back to North Yorkshire in the UK.

0:22:24 > 0:22:26Dr Valentine is a horse with ambitions.

0:22:26 > 0:22:29He wants to become one of the top racehorses in the world.

0:22:29 > 0:22:32But there's one thing that stands in his way.

0:22:35 > 0:22:39He's quite possibly Britain's naughtiest nag!

0:22:39 > 0:22:44Dr Valentine's personality is a very difficult one.

0:22:44 > 0:22:47In the past, his behaviour's been so bad,

0:22:47 > 0:22:49he's been banned from racing in France!

0:22:49 > 0:22:52He's a nice horse but he does have a temper

0:22:52 > 0:22:55and he doesn't like to be told what to do.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58But Dr Valentine's determined to turn over a new leaf.

0:22:58 > 0:23:01He knows that if he wants to start winning races,

0:23:01 > 0:23:04he has to start behaving more like a pro.

0:23:04 > 0:23:07He's been working with Nutty, the motivational goat coach

0:23:07 > 0:23:10to help him calm his temper, and today's a huge day.

0:23:10 > 0:23:13Dr Valentine's going to be running a big race and is

0:23:13 > 0:23:17determined to prove that he's put his naughty days behind him.

0:23:17 > 0:23:18This couldn't be bigger.

0:23:18 > 0:23:22There are only hours to go until the start of the race,

0:23:22 > 0:23:25and Dr Valentine is making his final preparations.

0:23:25 > 0:23:29He's done all his training so this could be his day,

0:23:29 > 0:23:33if only he can be on his best behaviour for his jockey, Keith.

0:23:33 > 0:23:35He's thrown a few riders off before.

0:23:35 > 0:23:38Hopefully, he won't do that to me but normally when

0:23:38 > 0:23:42the race is up and going, he relaxes then and he's happy.

0:23:42 > 0:23:46Some final words from Nutty, the motivational goat-coach

0:23:46 > 0:23:48- and it's off to the track.

0:23:52 > 0:23:53This is the racetrack.

0:23:53 > 0:23:57It's where a horse's dreams are made or shattered.

0:23:57 > 0:24:00It may look like a lot of fun, but for the horses,

0:24:00 > 0:24:02this is serious business

0:24:02 > 0:24:05and they need to keep their eyes on the prize.

0:24:05 > 0:24:09You don't want them getting wound up and losing their concentration

0:24:09 > 0:24:12and running their race before the race even begins.

0:24:12 > 0:24:17A racehorse is an athlete and they need to be as calm as they can be.

0:24:17 > 0:24:20How calm and well behaved is Dr Valentine feeling?

0:24:20 > 0:24:23It's time to find out. He's all saddled-up

0:24:23 > 0:24:27and about to parade trackside with the other horses.

0:24:27 > 0:24:29In the past, one of his favourite naughty tricks

0:24:29 > 0:24:32has been to walk backwards. He's about to be

0:24:32 > 0:24:35in the eye of all the the spectators and officials,

0:24:35 > 0:24:37so let's hope he doesn't pull that stunt.

0:24:43 > 0:24:44The parade starts.

0:24:44 > 0:24:48The other competitors are looking calm and walking straight.

0:24:48 > 0:24:51Here comes Dr Valentine. Looking good.

0:24:53 > 0:24:55Oh, no, I spoke too soon!

0:24:55 > 0:25:02He's walking sideways! Has the pressure got to him?

0:25:02 > 0:25:04Is he going to walk backwards?

0:25:06 > 0:25:09Phew! He regains his focus and straightens up.

0:25:09 > 0:25:13That was close. He just about got away with it.

0:25:13 > 0:25:16But now it's time for another massive test.

0:25:16 > 0:25:18Jockey, Keith, needs to mount,

0:25:18 > 0:25:21but another one of Dr Valentine's naughty tricks

0:25:21 > 0:25:24is to throw jockeys off.

0:25:24 > 0:25:28How's he going to react today? Fingers crossed.

0:25:31 > 0:25:33Yes! Keith's saddled-up!

0:25:33 > 0:25:36Dr Valentine's back on best behaviour.

0:25:36 > 0:25:37Atta boy!

0:25:37 > 0:25:40If he can keep this up, maybe it WILL be his day.

0:25:40 > 0:25:44Now, it's just the small matter of the race!

0:25:44 > 0:25:48Dr Valentine lines up with his rivals. He's got a great chance.

0:25:48 > 0:25:50Just so long as he doesn't lose concentration

0:25:50 > 0:25:53and slip back to his naughty ways.

0:25:54 > 0:25:57I don't know about Keith but I'm so nervous I can hardly watch.

0:25:57 > 0:25:59I'm going to close my eyes.

0:25:59 > 0:26:01I'm looking and they're off!

0:26:04 > 0:26:06Dr Valentine makes a good start.

0:26:06 > 0:26:09It's a terrific start! He's in the lead!

0:26:09 > 0:26:10I don't believe it!

0:26:10 > 0:26:12He makes it over the first fence.

0:26:12 > 0:26:16If he keeps up this concentration then maybe, just maybe...

0:26:18 > 0:26:21He hits the final straight and he's still in the lead!

0:26:21 > 0:26:24One final jump to go. Can he make it? Come on!

0:26:24 > 0:26:27Oh, yes! He has!

0:26:27 > 0:26:30Like a true pro, he's over it and still ahead.

0:26:33 > 0:26:36As the finish line approaches, he pulls ahead

0:26:36 > 0:26:38and he's in the clear.

0:26:38 > 0:26:41Yes! He romps to victory, I don't believe it!

0:26:41 > 0:26:45Dr Valentine has won! This is amazing!

0:26:47 > 0:26:50What an unbelievable end to the day, and who'd have thought it?

0:26:50 > 0:26:55Dr Valentine has not only proven that he can behave on race day,

0:26:55 > 0:26:59but he's shown that when he does, he's good enough to win.

0:26:59 > 0:27:02The crowd is impressed, Ann's over the moon.

0:27:02 > 0:27:05Extremely proud of him, he's done very well.

0:27:05 > 0:27:07And the goat-ching team couldn't be happier.

0:27:07 > 0:27:11Well done, you're truly a reformed character.

0:27:11 > 0:27:15Now when it comes to your dreams, there's neigh stopping you!

0:27:17 > 0:27:21Hey, what are you staring at? The show's over.

0:27:21 > 0:27:23What? What's the problem?

0:27:23 > 0:27:26You want more? Man, they always want more.

0:27:26 > 0:27:28If you want more, you got to join us next week.
